I love telling these tales. Once a question of madness, now a running stream throughout my life, I hope these rare instances are at least small reminders that They are at work.

Three Saturdays ago now, we were at a conference where the more local pagan types were converging. There was a quiet volunteer, or so it seemed as the day progressed, who was honestly a close living likeness to how most envision and depict a modern Loki Laufeyjarson.

This six-foot beauty moved quietly, only reaching out to aid others in moments of need throughout the day. Regulating the heating system, checking crowd levels, fixing microphones. I began to wonder how others were able to ignore them, when I couldn't bloody take my eyes of their demeanor.

They had strawberry blonde hair cascading down their shoulders in delicate waves and ending halfway down the back. Shaved in circumference from ear to ear, the rest was tied up in an artful knot on the crown of their head.

Their lithe frame was decked out head to toe in black, all slender naked arms and combat boots. A few choice silver chains hung from their neck and ears.

But their vest, their mantel, was Pure Ceremony. An intricate Scandi, almost Slavic design ran the length of both breasts. Rich colours on a black hide. It hung open to the waist, trimmed at every outer edge in a delicate black fur.

The half of the day I didn't spend listening to the speakers and moving through the small biz stalls, I was watching to make sure others were actually interacting with this beauty of a being. Or was I just going crazy for imagining them?

I wouldn't have thought twice in the end, except for the fact that I locked eyes with their piercing kohl-rimmed ones the very moment I entered the first conference room at 10am. And then watched them, rather abruptly, rush out of the same room during the closing ceremony about seven hours later... To join a Pro-Palestine march the minute it swarmed the busy street we were located on.

On point.

I saw them on the street later while leaving, ducking into the crowd of protestors. Whether or not they returned to the conference building, I'll never know.

If this human wasn't at least a fellow Lokean, I'll eat my proverbial hat. If it was more, well then, Hail My God. Always arresting to catch a glimpse of You in others.

using tumblr as a diary again

idk if its hormones or what but ive got a small case of the overwhelmies!!!!

continuing Art Fight and getting a new tattoo this week, barbieheimer on saturday, brunch with the squad on sunday. then the following week I'm taking a flight back home to NY to visit family, then the next saturday is Osheaga, Monday I start my new job, saturday is another convention, then Landscape with Invisible Hand releases!!

all very fun and exciting things! im just usually far more sedentary than this so its a LOT of action all of a sudden

theres also usual post-con blues with a new twist where i have to try to get an etsy made so i can sell my remaining stock and pray that goes smoothly in general

also throw the deep underlying stress that the film and tv strikes are causing in there too (Im in full support of the unions but thousands of post-production jobs are entirely dependent on new work being filmed. we dont have our own union and studios dont get film residuals, so artists salaries come from clients paying for the projects to get completed. so no projects = mass layoffs. and if things really go sideways, im gonna be the first to go at my new job bc ill be the freshest meat. nature of any biz. i knew the risks.)

all this within the next few weeks alone

my head might just spin off and tumble out the door
