Attack on Titan in HITA Museum 3rd Annivesary + New Illustrations

On March 27, 2024, Attack on Titan in HITA Museum will celebrate their 3rd anniversary.

To commemorate this celebration, the museum's Twitter feed was updated with new illustrations featuring old characters and Marley's warriors.

New illustration by Hajime Isayama featuring Reiner, Bertholdt, Marco, Historia, and Ymir for the 3rd Anniversary of the SNK Museum in HITA.

New illustration of the Warriors of Marley: Colt, Gabi, Beast Titan, Falco, Pieck, and Porco by Hajime Isayama.

We also get new updated hairstyles for Ymir, Marco, and Bertholdt, reflecting their timeskip appearances, alongside Reiner and Historia, sporting new ODM gear suits.

- Isayama's autograph will be given away at the app stamp rally, commemorating the museum's 3rd anniversary and 300,000 visitors. Participants can win autographed papers by Isayama by collecting three stamps in the "Attack on Titan in HITA" app's stamp rally.

Fun FACT: Levihan ranks 2nd most popular anime on non-romance genre category couple/ship from Japan with best-selling to top-selling doujinshis, 23 368 fanarts, aside from manga illustration, and novels, the 1st one is kagura x okita from gintama with 30703 fanarts and eremika ranks number 33 with 5.085 onto the list.

but remember levihan fandom still dominating until now because of how the fandom there introduce these two pair. 💚💜They're the only snk ship with 4 cons/event a year. Since almost their doujinshis, novels are always solding out. Usually they are in Tokyo but this is Osaka now too + Tokyo later will be December 25 on Levi's birthday!!. In Osaka they will be again with their 4th osaka event in February 2023.

Hello! I know this is a very abstract question, but what are some objects or symbols that you associate with Levi or would say are representative of Levi in some way?

The tea cup and cravat are the most obvious objects associated with Levi. They both appear in countless official art and collabs, both with Levi himself and as symbols representing him. The bolo tie is Erwin's equivalent of course. Levi's cravat and Erwin's bolotie were given away together as special gifts along with the SnK volume 23 tankobon in Japan. And some folk wonder why we ship them 😂

The crossed swords and Wings of Freedom are also closely associated with Levi, though they are more representative of the Survey Corps as a whole. This pillow is a nice example of a design that incorporates all the symbols associated with both Erwin and Levi.

Fan artists also frequently use the bolo tie with the cravat or tea cup to represent Eruri in really creative ways. @seitsen-sarvi's Subtle Trust design is one of my favourites. I love this one so much I had it printed on fabric and made it into a skirt!

A small note,

So as SnK is now officially ending, I just have a few thoughts I’d like to share — and in many ways, this is a thank-you note. I feel like this is a place where I can do that and no one will pass judgment on me for feeling so attached to a story (and forgive me, as I’m feeling very sentimental). So thank you, if you decide to read what I’ve written below.

I was just 13 when I watched Attack on Titan for the first time, all the way back in 2013/2014. I remember my friend introducing me to it and I can still remember sitting on my bedroom floor while she showed me the first episode. Back then, it was such a different show. Or at least, we didn’t know that the story which was unfolding before us could only be told for the first time, once. There is no going back. Once you learn the truth of it, you can only return to realize that it was always this way, the signs were all there — you just didn’t know how to read them. What a way to tell a story. What a way to build a character, with that same approach.

It’s been 10 years and my love for SnK has only grown as I have. I was 13 then, I’m almost 23 now, and so much has changed. Within all that change, I’ve always been able to revisit these beloved characters as every new chapter or season released. Despite the horrors they’ve endured, I found comfort in their perseverance. I grew up with them, and so as a new graduate, in which I’m watching my childhood sunsetting before me, it makes it twice as hard to say goodbye to them now. Sure, the manga ended 2 and 1/2 years ago, but there is such a sense of finality now that the anime is coming to a close as well.

SnK is a masterpiece. In my opinion, it is one of the most brilliantly crafted stories I’ve ever read, and trust me — I’ve read a lot. As a writer, I look to stories, in any medium, as a foundation from which to build my own. I will look to SnK over and over again as a model for my own characters, my own arcs, and mostly as a way to answer the question: How do I tell the story I need to tell in a way that matters? Because at the end of the day, no matter how many flaws are littered within the pages of SnK, the story that’s being told matters. It matters to me, and I know it matters to so many of you, too.

In many ways, the characters from SnK are my heroes. Truly, I often find myself wondering if I am acting with empathy and compassion the way Levi does. If I am able to grow and lead the way Jean does. If I’m allowing myself to be me, shamelessly, the way Hange does. I think about my relationship with my brother, and I think about Connie and Sasha — two halves of a whole. I try to love wholly, and fervently like Mikasa. I try not to doubt my abilities, the way I know Armin does so often and shouldn’t. Am I acting before I understand something? Can I hold onto my hope, breathe life into it, the way he embodies it? And every once in a while, I hear Eren in my head — fight. I have so many dreams and I’ll never get them if I cannot fight for them. I won’t live them if I don’t try.

For what will I dedicate my heart?

It has been such a pleasure to experience this story from beginning to end, to watch how it’s evolved and how it’s been received. And it’s been so humbling and beautiful to be able to experience it with all of you. It’s been so much fun.

Here’s to many more years of loving this story, even when the dust on the shelf begins to settle.

What inspired you to start writing fanfiction?

I started writing fanfic back when I was, like, 11? If I remember correctly, it was self-insert for Fruits Basket and entirely because I wanted them all to be happy, especially Tohru. More recently, I was inspired to get back into writing after having the privilege of reading some fucking great snk fanfic. I just... felt the itch to write again that wouldn't go away until I obliged.

7. How do you handle writer's block or moments of creative stagnation?

Depends on how bad it is. I'm constantly juggling 5+ WIPs because I'm the worst at that, so I'm able to jump from one to the next. If it's a full on creative block that makes it so my words don't come for anything, I do something else. Go on a hike. Walk my neighbor's dog. Play a game. I lose myself there until that itch returns. I also have a bad habit of just. Pushing through. I can get it done, but it comes at the cost of burn out lasting longer, unfortunately.

23. How do you write endings for your fics? Do you prefer open-ended or conclusive conclusions?

Recently, I've been plotting my endings so they circle around to the beginning. My favorite is probably that of my epic I'm writing where the final conversation mirrors the first conversation, using almost exactly the same words but with vastly different meanings. I like my endings to be a mix between open-ended and conclusive, so the conflict is firmly ended but their future is open to them.

My current favorite topic is titan shifters in SNK. I've got one bopping around right now that'll explore stuff going on in Eren's sense of space and time while he's in his Final Form. Still very much in the mental drafting stage.
