Good Morning Tumblroids,
I’m still working out the specifics of my future indie project attempt. Jellystone is over for now, but I’m still pitching shows on the mean streets of Burbank and I’ve got a lot of new software to cram before I’m ready. In the meantime, I think I’m overdue to break the seal and breathe some life back into my mummified YouTube channel.
Maybe I’m just looking for a cheap excuse for a party, but I think I’m going to start off with a “Billy & Mandy Reunion”. As I’m imagining it, it’s part documentary and part Bravo reunion special. But probably with less punching and swearing(?).
From the unusual pitch to the moment it was voted into existence by the fans, through multiple cancellations and resurrections, all the way to its final meeting with the reaper, Billy & Mandy has had a journey unique in the animation world. My goal is to get the whole gang back together and talk about how the sausage is and was made.
Before I embark with you on this trip through the potholes down Memory Lane, though, I wanted to check in with you all and hear what you had to say. In the reunion, we’ll be talking about Billy & Mandy as a project, specific episodes, all of the parts of the animation process, how things were done in the 2000s vs how they’re done now, and the animation industry in general. I’m looking for your thoughts and questions about any of that stuff. Or (really) anything you want to know about the show.
Whether it’s a statement about a character that's had an impact on your life or a question about the minutiae of storyboarding, I’d love to hear from you. If you want your question to be credited, add your preferred name to your comment. I don’t think I’ll have time to get to them all (and there are bound to be plenty of repeat questions) so please don’t get mad at me if yours doesn’t get chosen or gets attributed to someone else. There’s only a five-to-seven percent chance that I’ve done it maliciously.
I’m going to talk to the actors, of course, but I’m going to try to get as many people back as I can. Storyboard artists, writers, production staff, directors, timers, designers– The Whole Tamale Platter. If you’re interested in a particular facet of TV Animation, this would be a good chance to hear from someone who’s been there.
I like nachos, -Maxwell Atoms

i helped* write a new physics textbook and it has a cool (and free) website: softmatterbook.online
Tumblr media
*a little bit. The vast majority of the book was written by van Saarloos, Vitelli, and Zeravcic, but a whole bunch of people contributed little bits of writing (myself included) and are credited in the preface.
This book is an accumulation of some of the most fundamental results in soft matter physics, many of which were first discovered or derived very recently. The website hosts a bunch of extra resources (videos, notes, demos, etc.) sorted by the chapters of the book:
Fluid Dynamics
Elasticity
Brownian Motion
Colloids
Polymers
Liquid Crystals
Interfaces, Surfaces, & Membranes
Pattern Formation out of Equilibrium
Active Matter
From Designing Matter to Mimicking Life
It also lists a whole bunch of labs all around the world that are studying the sorts of systems described in the book, as well as mailing lists you can sign up for, conferences, workshops, youtube channels, and software packages. I'm absolutely biased (see below) but I think it's a really great resource for anybody interested in soft matter!
I spent the first year of my PhD helping to put this thing together. I translated research papers into problems, hunted for typos, and wrote most of the solutions in the instructor's manual. I don't make any money off the book sales (my PI told me they made it available for as cheap of a price as the publisher would allow), but my PhD stipend was funded for the year to work on this thing instead of having to TA.
I was ridiculously lucky to get the chance to work on this thing, even if at times it felt like learning how the academic sausage gets made.

for a while since i got into transformers 3 years ago and i loved the franchies instiantly even since i was a kid especially the designs of transformers and Seeing fan arts and fan Designs and fans make thire own continuity made me me want to start learning to draw when im ready but i don't know how to draw cybertronians so do you have any tips and advices for someone who want to learn to draw transformers characters both Traditional & digital art?
Biggest advice I can give is: "Break a character apart into simple components!"
Drawing bots is honestly not that difficult, I find it much easier than people because you can more easily break a character apart into simplified blocks.
When it comes to designing characters it can take a few times to get one you're happy with so doing lots of basic sketches can help. References are always useful too! Every artist uses references.
Here's how I do it (In this case I'm doing an alt design for tfe Nightshade):
(It's not a definitive guide as you kinda have to figure out what works best for you both in terms of technique and art style. I'm aware my art style is definitely not for everyone, as it veers more on the cartoony side. I've had comments about how my faces all look effed up etc XD)
Initial sketch
Tumblr media
Break a bot down into basic shapes, circles and sausage shapes for more rounded characters and boxes for squarer ones. I normally start with the head and draw the rest of the body down from it (torso and arms then legs then any back kibble that might be visible) Think of it like the protoform beneath the armour.
To help with figuring out a pose I'll often use my toys. It can help you visualise where their arms and legs etc go along with whether part of a bot is actually visible from a certain angle. For example in this case:
Tumblr media
(Yes that's my cat chilling in the background)
This can help you to figure out if a certain design can pull a given pose, for example would a bot with kibble on their hips or arms be able to move their legs or arms a certain way. I used POTP Elita one as a reference for my SG Megatron a lot for example as they've got very similar builds. But this is not essential.
(There are mannequin apps on mobiles etc. you can use to help with pose references too, and image searches are always useful for references.)
For more dynamic poses it helps to think about how the character is moving, so add a curve to the torso/spine to add to any implied motion etc.
Details
Tumblr media
Once I'm happy with the basic shape and pose I typically add the armour over the top. Again the head is usually the first bit I do. You can see I got a bit lazy with their left hand and just did a scribble here XD
Inking
Tumblr media
Normally when inking I do the edges of each armour piece first then add any details on afterwards in a finer pen. Generally I'll do one body part at the time eg. fully ink the arm before doing the head etc. Its best to make sure you do parts that are in front first!
Here's the finished picture:
Though it'll need some digital cleaning up at another time.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
As for digital art...
I can't really give much advice on starting a drawing digitally as I never quite got the hang of it (colouring and corrections I do digitally but all my line art is traditional), I need the feedback of a pen in my hand and pressure on the paper to get it right.
These days the Hardware I mainly use is a refurbished huion art tablet (it was about £120 when I bought it) that's probably the cheapest your going to find a graphics tablet with a screen. BUT it's really not essential to get one especially if you're just starting out. Basic graphic tablets without a screen (just a pen and a pad) are much cheaper or you can use a mouse. I used a mouse for ages when I was first starting out.
In terms of software, for colouring and edits on the PC I use GIMP (I've been using it since like 2009 so I'm not really going to change any time soon!). It's freeware software and can do a lot of stuff, but it's user interface isn't the most user friendly especially if you're not familiar with graphics software but there are plenty of tutorials available for it. I'll try to remember to make a post showing how I use that another time :) as I'm not at my computer at the moment.
There are plenty of alternative image manipulation/graphics software to use as well, some free, some free but with ads, and some paid for (either one off payment or subscription). It's best to see what other artists have to say about them though as I've never really used them!

Oooh! I have my own headcanons as well!
John Egbert, movie critic and professional prankster, has a small Youtube Channel named EctoBiologist_143 that does a lot of skit based comedy reviews, think Nostalgia Critic without the scummy business practices. John also tries to code personal birthday card files for his friends, they work half the time, if unzipping the .ath file is recognized on the computer’s software.
Rose Lalonde loves to overanalyze kids media, especially squiddles as it’s a way for her to bond with Jade, and Rose notices quite a lot of references to the deep sea and hidden realms in the media.
Dave Strider, as much as he loves to remix and produce beats, he also learns the drums as a traditional instrument to play band, he made one EP with John Rose and Jade, he says he doesn’t want to publish because it “sounds too normal to be indie” bit really he wants a piece of his second family to keep as a memory. His first family was him and bro, and yeeeeeeah, he doesn’t like puppets, except Randy Feltface.
Jade Harley prefers to be a vegetarian, but her Bec side loves meat, she treats herself to black bean burgers and tofu sausages. Her mostly veggie diet comes from her gardening, making all-organic foods. Her Bec side also makes her droop when she’s near nuclear reactors, that’s why her job is reactor designer and not inspection.
Jane Crocker made an MSPFA called Professional Charlatan, an adventure about a hard-boiled prankster, an Adventuring Dandy and a Populist Ingenious work as a team with intelligensia from Master Kernel to defeat the insidious and undersea work of the MERMAID MOB. It is very obvious this is loosely based on Jane and her friends fighting the Condesce.
Jake English dabbles in the art, and takes from Pablo Picasso’s blue period. Rose has a very psychoanalytical idea for why he likes to draw so many blue landscapes, and round, wavy feminine shapes. Jake also draws Robots, a lot. He even gets commissions to draw corny 1950s sci-fi book covers!
Roxy teaches John how to make code in .ath that does not suck. She and John love to share simple code that range from ripoff arcade games to ascii gifs. She takes a lot of the wine her mom stored to be sold in a wine store she owns. Roxy likes to taste wine, but declines anything more than one glass to drink, modesty is policy!
Dirk Strider works with a lot of felt and soft fabrics. He actually makes quilts as therapy for living on his own for 16 years. He also likes to hang out with Dave, he looks up to Dave and how he turned out even with the worst Dirk in all of Paradox space. Dirk still has a manipulative streak where he tries to subtly convince Dave to binge The Muppet Show with him to grow a tolerance for non-smutty plushes. Dave still can not watch any scene with Gonzo without getting sweaty and tense.
This is a lot of text for 8 characters so if I ever do troll headcanons they are in a separate batch.

Coding career nerd talk/advice for beginners ahead:
Engineers early in their career like to try to be "Full Stack", especially if they're excited about coding. There's a lot out there. You'll also see a lot of "Full Stack Engineer" job listings especially for small companies or startups.
When you start out "Full Stack" one of three things usually happens:
You figure out what you actually like and eventually take a focused job (probably like 80% of "Full stack" engineers end up doing this)
You burn out and quit coding
You continue to be "full stack" and love it because you truly love to code in all sorts of environments
The last one is a rarity. I've honestly maybe only met one or two people who would fit the bill as full-stack gurus in my 12+ year career. Most just end up "full stack" in title but they're really staff engineers that play a leading/guiding role in the whole tech stack.
One thing you do have to be aware of: "Full Stack" engineering jobs are a trap 99% of the time. They're code words for "we're going to make you do the job of 5 engineers for the pay of 1". And your code quality will suffer for it.
If you like to dabble in environments from front to back, go ahead and pursue those jobs, but keep in mind you will be overworked and underpaid compared to your more focused colleagues. You're not in some losing game if you only focus on one discipline, specialization is necessary because there's just too many fucking layers to a software stack for one person to do everything well. This is universally true for every career out there, why would coding be any different?
You're going to have the opportunity to switch tracks to a different discipline along your career. You may start as a web dev but you can totally go do Android or dev ops or SDET or security or any other discipline. Once you get experience within production systems and see how the sausage is made you'll end up branching out. Or maybe not.
Or maybe you truly are a Willy Wonka of coding and you love every part of it. If you can make a career out of that, living and breathing code, go for it. It's not easy and you may find it's not worth the effort to dedicate your life to the thing you do to make money. Up to you. Just be aware that those job postings looking for "Full Stack Engineers" fresh out of college are bait for being forced to work on the weekends.

I REMEMBERED
And had time-
Comment/Reblog who I should do next<3
MCYT PJ AU
Aphrodite and Hephaestus Cabins
Doc- Defines Mad scientist. Was responsible for the Accident of 1999. We don't talk about it. Half his body got destroyed, pulling an iron man and barely living. Actually was granted one of his dad's Workshops. Creates world destroying machines, and that's why Hephaestus keeps a close eye on him. The only who can get into contact with him is Ren and Mumbo. Given immortality at some point. Old.
Eret- Old leader of Aphrodite cabin. In college. Gives amazing fashion advice. Bisexual ICON. Better at wearing sunglasses than Apollo, but don't tell him that. #Traitor. Like Silena Beuragaurd, but wasn't forced to... just did it.
Fwhip- What is the sun?? Man hasn't seen it for long time that's for sure. Gem reminds him to eat and you know- live. Loves to teach Zedaph engineering and science stuff. He and Wilbur started a Salmon cult. Loves messing with Jimmy. Not strong for a Hephaestus kid.
Iskall- Lost an eye. His father gifted him a new one for his birthday- great parenting guys. Leans more to computer and software engineering. Lives with Stress.
Joey- Aphrodite Cabin head counselor. A love Aura like every second of the day. FLIRTS. In love with Xornoth, they don't reciprocate. Older brother of Scar. Horrible at fighting and please don't trust him with fire. Man has been spotted countless times without a shirt. Clung to Pete like a leach- only person he listens to probably. Bromance with Sausage. His dad hates him.
Keralis- Best fliter. Has a charming sense of aura. Best Aphrodite kid at telling others emotions. Empathy levels are high. No one understands his relationship with XB, not even each other do. Became an interior designer. Comes to camp to help with any building projects.
Mumbo- Really smart. Man can build and fix anything he touches. Humble little thing. Covered in soot 100% of the time. Came to camp with Grian and Scar. No Grians not letting go he's kinda stuck now. Went out on a quest and almost died- saved by Doc. Doc took one glance and said- "wet cat" and officially takes care of him as his guardian. Brings him to their father forgers during winter months.
Sam- New leader of the Hephaestus cabin. Helped design a prison, requested by the gods. Only Hephaestus kid who weilds a Trident, designed by him. He really likes Poseidon, kinda wished he was his dad. Hangs with Punk.
Zee- Great inventor. Understands any machine. Thinker and tinker. Always planning a new build, seeing the possibilities. Disappeared one day, still missing.
Scar- Oblivious beautiful boy. Joey's younger brother, loves his brother very much. Has very powerful Charmspeak. Got away with so many crimes. Step-mom and Dad separated, his Step-mom took him away. That's why Joey and him didn't go to camp together. And they tend to keep that a secret, their dad and step-mom wouldn't allow them to be with each other. Joey teaches him things he shouldn't be taught. SCAR PUT YOUR CLOTHES ON.
Skeppy- Great skin. Wears Jewlry 24/7. Walking diamond. Man is great with people. Bads personal emotional support friend. Love his mom. They talk a lot. Loves shipping his fellow campers. Literally the Fandom in person.
Netty- Great at fashion. Married Martyn. Finishing college. Loves dresses and skirts. Sassy when she wants to be. Always has the gossip and news, even when she wasn't there.
TFC- Another Hephaestus kid granted immortality. An incident made him lose a leg. Spends his days mining ore for his father's forges. The only person to be able to freely move throughout Labyrinth. Met Deadelus personally. On okay terms. Loves to help out other Demigods.

Hello! I was hoping that maybe you would consider reposting what you had to say about ai art and qo3 in a different post? 👉👈 the OP of that post has made it unrebloggable which fair enough but I'd really be able to have you meausred take to point to when people ask me about it
congrats it's this post! originally written dec 1/22: (context/unrebloggable post here)
data scraping to train AI is really common and if you post things in public places you can expect machines to be fed it these days. nobody asks permission of you. even if they should. if it's on the internet it can be downloaded and will be downloaded and often repurposed/redistributed/repackaged/resold. even if it's behind log-in walls and paywalls.
this is not the first time for-profit AI has been trained on copyrighted works (x)
if this is true that Sudowrites has scraped Ao3, archive-locking all your existing works will not remove them from the dataset. archive-locking any subsequent fics may exclude those from future datasets.
however it is easy to simulate being logged on using a script (x)
this information is only a day old and yet to be confirmed beyond "seems fucking likely"
ao3 has been made aware of it and has requested people stop sending in support tickets about it
elon musk sure is a guy but he is not personally involved in this. he left openai, the research group that produced the tech used by sudowrites, in 2019 (x)
this is a very new field with developing legal precedent and the social and ethical concerns of AI trained on human labours to reproduce similar things for cheaper are not going to go away anytime soon. i hope more people get involved in the discussion because of this!
i understand otw has a legal fund so maybe fanfic will become a part of that case law. that would be neato
on a user by user basis, personally, i am sitting tight. i am unsurprised. the notion of stories made for free and out of passion being fed into a sausage maker to train software that can sell stories for cheaper than the rates of the humans who do get paid for it is distressing. nonetheless i am not going to archive-lock my fics at this time because probably 98% of my reading consumption was as a guest and i think if algorithms get our stories humans without accounts should too. i am also not confident it would change anything at this point. i respect anyone's decision to archive-lock their stories and understand the desire to do so. i am privately extremely relieved to be on the right side of wall bc two months ago i'd be wondering where all my half-read fics had gone hahaha

i have this very bad habit of checking the steam forum for dwarf fortress. and now that dwarf fortress is out there are so many posts!!
there's this Gamer Mindset that comes up every so often, and i have trouble articulating exactly what it entails. all the posts like "idk if this is worth $30 b/c it's not optimized" are definitely gamer mindset. the one person who's like "why not add graphics", definitely. like plenty of people have written huge essays about how gamers as a group really do not understand how the sausage is made so i won't really belabor that point, but the thing i keep thinking of is like...
dwarf fortress is hardly a "game" or even a "simulation" in the way they're usually meant? it's an artifact of computation. it's a sim game like the way simearth was a simulation game, and a lot of the more "game-y" aspects of it (automatic goblin sieges etc) increasingly seem like outmoded relics that'll be removed once the world simulation gets caught up. it's this extremely involved and interconnected software artifact that is focused on this... maximalist simulation of the world. there are ants on this tile. why ants? because ants exist in the world and so it is necessary to put them in dwarf fortress, even if they don't do anything (yet).
& then on the steam forums that design philosophy smashes directly into people who are like "this isn't worth $30 until it doesn't have slowdown" or w/e.
i liked the polygon review by grayson morley about having a depressed master craftsdwarf. "Mechanically, I’m unsure that it’s possible to make her happy." imo a 'simulation game' isn't really doing anything until the simulation has reached the depth where you're genuinely not sure if things are possible or not -- there are all these levers, you know, and those are pushed and pulled by certain kinds of interactions. but what actions can feasibly be constructed, and how exactly the levers are set, makes it impossible to really know if something is easy vs. technically possible vs. actually impossible in this specific situation. you gotta have enough depth for things to be intractible.
& that's not really a level of depth most games are aiming for. i mean i think so far for 2022 the games i've play have mostly been, uh, minecraft, kenshi, and elden ring. (elden ring was okay but i think i like dragon's dogma more.)
so i have kind of fallen out of Gaming as a hobby b/c increasingly i want games that just are not being made. i want more sprawling maximalist games with a dozen completely separate mechanical loops & you can pick and choose between. i think that's a chunk of the reason games like morrowind are still well-regarded? the game is such an unbalanced mess that you can do whatever you want and still "make progress" in the game, which means that you can play the game in a way that you find fun rather than in the way that streamlined user tests have determined onboards players for the longest retention.
aaaanyway. dwarf fortress with actual UI seems like it'll be interesting but i'll probably wait for a few bugfix patches since it sounds like there are some places where there are just "crash the game" buttons. i'm gonna have to relearn how to do everything.

Meal Planning: Benefits and Challenges
I love meal planning and genuinely find it to be so useful. I first tried it nearly two years ago back when I was a software engineering intern. I documented my overwhelmingly positive experience in a post titled why I meal plan. Upon returning to college, I was back on a different, and worse, kind of meal plan. While I miss other aspects of living at Smith, one of my favorite parts about moving into my first apartment has been having my very own kitchen and getting to cook for myself. You can read more about my kitchen essentials in the linked post. While I do enjoy cooking, meal planning, meal prep, and simple meals are the foundation of why I can sustain and enjoy preparing the vast majority of meals for myself. This still isn’t the post I’ve alluded to in the past about my actual meal prep process. The goal is instead to highlight the benefits and address some of the challenges I’ve run into more recently.
The main reason meal planning is invaluable to me is that it allows me to front-load and consolidate the decision-making. While I wouldn't literally starve without it, I'm significantly more likely to skip a meal when I've not planned one out. I know it sounds strange, but even if I'm somewhat hungry, I don't always have the mental energy to figure out what to eat.
The most practical benefit is that it streamlines my grocery shopping which in turn saves me time at the grocery store and money. The cost savings come in a few forms. First of all, when done strategically meal planning can eliminate food waste. More significantly, meal planning cuts down on impulse spending at both restaurants and grocery stores. A good meal plan still allows you to eat out if that’s something you value. The difference is that it’s with more intentionality rather than desperation and hunger.
A side benefit is that it makes me more aware of what I'm eating which presumably helps me to be a bit more health conscious. While I don’t have scientific proof of causation, there’s absolutely a correlation at least for me.
Now on to the challenges. The problem is that you can’t always perfectly stick to your meal plan. That in of itself is okay. For instance, say there is some free food opportunity or you get invited to go out to dinner with a friend. In that case, a good meal plan simply adapts. A meal plan isn’t meant to constrain you and should simply be updated as circumstances change or if you simply change your mind about what you want to eat.
The actual challenge is when external factors impact your meal plan. Here are a few examples from this month. First of all, a few weekends ago I got a cold. This directly impacted my meal plan because I didn’t have the energy to cook. Besides, it made me want something like chicken noodle soup. Fortunately, I do keep an emergency can of chicken noodle soup as well as some instant ramen! And while I did recover in time, it did almost impact my ability to go grocery shopping and do meal prep for the next week.
The following Friday, I prepared two servings of my polenta with sausage and peppers but managed to drop and break one of the bowls. I was thus forced to come up with a replacement meal for Saturday night. A similar but less extreme mishap was accidentally leaving my blue cheese in my grocery backpack. After being unrefrigerated for two days, throwing it out seemed like the prudent decision. In this case, I just had less yummy tofu spinach salads for the rest of the week.
The challenge today and inspiration for writing this post was needing to replan on the fly due to there being no ripe bell peppers at the grocery store. This is a problem because peppers are a core ingredient for both of the meals I just mentioned. Fortunately, the frozen peppers were finally back in stock. While this unblocks the polenta meal, frozen veggies don't exactly work in a fresh salad. Thus instead of my normal baby spinach, I opted for frozen so that I could still make my spinach omelets. The good and bad thing is that I’d already done my usual meal prep of tofu for the salads and rice/tempeh for my rice bowls. Because the tempeh freezes well, the new plan is to use my salad tofu for tofu rice bowls. It should be okay, but I would have cut and cooked the tofu differently if I’d known it was going to be used for rice bowls. As for the tempeh, the plan isn’t fully set. I'm hoping to develop an alternate meal, but may end up simply making more rice next weekend.
I want the main takeaway to be that meal planning is incredible and can be as flexible as you need it to be. I’ll also leave you with a few learnings from the recent challenges I’ve encountered. First, always keep a few emergency meals on hand. Freezer meals can work here but ideally, you also have some shelf-stable options. Canned chicken noodle soup is perfect to have around in case you come down with a cold. I’ve also learned that grocery shopping is best done before meal prepping just in case items are out of stock or otherwise not to your liking. That being said, I probably won’t fully take this learning to heart as changing up my Sunday routine seems worse than the occasional forced adaptation.

Jan 24 - got my repaired laptop back! Happily spent the rest of the day doing things like updating software and backups, and then gamed for a few (too many) hours.
Decided to cook some of the lasagne I made yesterday, rather than taking the time to tackle making something else.
Jan 25 - mostly spent more time updating other things on the laptop and gaming.
Made a vat of soup for supper, using up some of the chicken stock I had made recently plus the last tub of tomato vegetable base from the freezer. Used mild Italian sausages for the protein, and a 13 bean mix to bulk it out, as well as carrots, potatoes, celery, and the contents of the freezer bag I throw small amounts of leftover veggies into rather than composting them.

Maximizing Gain Edges: Sales Computer software Most useful Techniques in Bulk Circulating Mashhad Sausages
In one's heart of culinary pleasures, Mashhad sausages have carved a niche for themselves, tantalizing tastebuds with their distinctive mixture of spices and flavors. Whilst the need for these delectable sausages remains to increase, the logistics of bulk distribution become significantly crucial. This information considers the strategies and innovations behind the efficient bulk distribution of Mashhad sausages, shedding mild on the integration of engineering, structured present restaurants, and the position of accounting application in ensuring a smooth process.
Streamlining Present Organizations:
One of the critical areas of effective bulk distribution may be the optimization of source chains. From sourcing premium elements to supplying the final product to consumers, every stage should be orchestrated with precision. By implementing advanced offer chain management programs, businesses involved in the distribution of Mashhad sausages may minimize bottlenecks, minimize lead times, and improve over all efficiency.
Tech-Driven Logistics:
In a period dominated by engineering, the integration of cutting-edge answers has become crucial for organizations looking to stay ahead. Mass circulation of Mashhad sausages benefits considerably from tech-driven logistics. GPS checking, real-time stock management, and computerized get handling programs subscribe to the quick motion of goods from manufacturing facilities to circulation centers and, fundamentally, to retailers and consumers. پخش عمده سوسیس و کالباس
Accounting Computer software: Managing the Books and Beyond:

Underrated source of daily humiliation is when you hastily misspell something in a search bar on mobile and the engine just... freezes. There's a long and mortifying pause as this sophisticated software that's been around for decades pretends not to get it. You can almost imagine a little technological fairy scratching its luminous head and crinkling its pixel eyes at the phrase "moist armpitd", wondering whatever this could mean. You are confronted in this long ordeal, this impersonal ritual of shaming, with the stupidity of your queries, the unreliability of your ponderous sausage fingers, and the horrific prospect of someone looking directly at your query as you type it in and going, "Good God, what must I deal with daily?" It is proof, dear reader, that a machine can hate in ways as heinous as they are innocent.

I find it very funny (in a tragic way) how a lot of big companies seem to be run by people who not only do not care about how the sausage is made (money is money, evil or not), but they seem to just... not have a single clue of what the fuck they make does or how it works.
Uncle-Unity just went "charge per install". Nobody who knows ANYTHING about software would think that's anywhere near enforceable. Hell, if the whole thing was "look we are going to buttfuck you with a bigger % because we want more money", that'd be at least rational.
The whole DnD thing and them wanting to make it a virtual-centric, walled-garden experience. Like, that could only be pushed by someone who fundamentally has no fucking idea how or why people play RPGs. Sure, VTTs exist and have become increasingly popular, but the whole appeal is having a collective imaginary playground. The virtual stuff is an accessory. "We can charge for cosmetic microtransactions" for DnD is quite possibly one of the DUMBEST ideas I've heard of. The game is about MAKING SHIT UP, they can just SAY they look like a sparkling golden dragonborn. Actual videogames are contained full experiences, you don't talk about shooting, you do the shooting. You don't say you look like Goku with a shotgun. You buy Goku and use a shotgun.
The fiasco of a bunch of crypto/NFT integration announcements reeked of clueless old men going "ey do the computer thing I heard everyone talking about and shove it in our computer thing".

one advantage of being just debilitated on dabs is being able to jailbreak your brain, like there's shit your brain can do that it's not normally "allowed" to do. One thing I like is really shnorkin that jacob, just blitzing an entire bloof of that jolly green giant, and then creating, appreciating, consuming, and enjoying the satisfaction of, a delightful piece of food I do not currently have. A big bowl of sloppy macaroni and cheese, a slice of decadent cake, or even something as mundane as this sausage and egg bagel sandwich.
Tumblr media
And by getting entirely too high, I can trick my brain into synthesizing everything about that situation. I can feel the grain of the seeds on the bagel, I can taste that the egg is perhaps slightly overcooked and a little rubbery, but also has acquired a little browning that has enhanced the flavor. On sober brain, I would get a sense of what it would taste like, but your brain's software doesn't want you to pretend to eat, it wants you to actually eat, so it becomes hollow quickly and you "just get hungry from thinking about it so much", but when I'm positively ripshit on dabs, I can consume the entire thing and appreciate it and I might as well have actually eaten it, from an enjoyment standpoint. Then, I can go eat something more responsible and basically have my cake and eat it too.

Day 19: 2/6/23
Today, I continued with my daily consumption of facial products, including the cleanser, toner, and cream. I packed my laptop, mouse, chargers, and earbuds. I didn't put much thought into what to wear today and remembered to bring my jacket and earmuffs. I refilled my water bottle using the water dispenser. Outside, the sky was still dark but the weather was much warmer. I checked on my phone and the temperature was not negative anymore. I arrived in Coffman and ordered breakfast at Einstein's Bros. I ordered the turkey sausage with cheddar cheese and an egg. I got it with the usual Asiago bread and made sure to select the "toasted." Now that I have time to reflect, I haven't even thought about exploring the other types of bagels/bread because I wasn't sure how they would look or taste. For lunch, I had arrived to the dining hall around 11am. To my surprise there weren't many people. I was surprised because usually, there would be many people ordering food for brunch/lunch. I ordered the usual deluxe meal, which included a drink. It was easier to order that way. Before, I ordered just the medium sized-fries and deluxe sandwich, but I had gotten a comment from the person taking my order, stating the fact that if I just ordered a meal, it would be the same price but with a drink. I took this into consideration and continued with the meal ever since. Since there was less people, I was less worried about finding a seat to eat. After I was done with lunch and class, it was around 3pm. There was light snow.
At home, I put energy into folding clothes. I was able to finish this task faster than usual because I had a meeting at 4pm, meaning I had a set time to finish this task. Unlike the other times, I would not have a set time and goal for finishing tasks. The was an online zoom call. I used Adobe Illustrator and zoom during the meeting. I consumed some home-cooked chicken wings with rice. Rice is a cultural necessity when I was eating at home. Along with the meal, I ate a slice of orange and a fruit cheesecake. The slice of orange was a very bright color and was juicy and delicious. There were only two more cheesecakes and I ate one of them. Living with a family means that any food in the house can be consumed by anyone. I wanted to have a taste of all the types of cheesecakes. After the meeting, I spent time playing games on my personal computer with friends. I used a software called Discord. I used Discord because it was an easy way for my friends and me to connect. It was the place where we could join a voice channel and people can join whenever.
