"From the look on your face, I'd say you know him."
I nodded. "Sold him a cannoli when I was in high school."
Connie grunted. "Honey, half of all the women in New Jersey have sold him their cannoli."

Dirty Thirty by Janet Evanovich
Thanks to my library, Libby app....and it's skip the line function...I finally got to read this.
Holy Cannoli! What an ending! She is a master at cliff hangers. I'm dying here...I want to know....
I think this is my favorite one yet. Great story plot. Mrs. Plum actually kicked butt, we need more of that. Lula is so awesome. Even Bob got involved, such an adorable doggy.
I finally got my Ranger fix. I admit I fantasize about him, especially after seeing the movie. Daniel Sunjata nailed it.🔥 Anyone else fantasize about a book character, or am I just weird?🤔😏
You all are going to either love or hate this ending, depending on your point of view. I love endings like that.
If you are a Stephanie Plum fan..... are you #teamRanger or #teamMorelli?
#teamRanger!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ok, when is the next book coming out...🤔😏🖖

Uh HarryKim "I have a feeling" "Oh boy..."
"I gave him a raised eyebrow. "Two suspicious conduct complains in one day plus breaking and entering. You must be going for some sort of personal record," Morelli said. "Costanza has a big mouth." "You were lucky it was Costanza, if it had been Gaspick, you'd be calling Vinnie for bail right now. (My emphasis) We were caught in a gust of wind, and we hunkered down into our jackets. "Can I talk to you off the record?" I asked Morelli. "Shit," Morelli said. "I hate when you start a conversation like this." "There's something about Uncle Mo." "Oh boy." "I'm serious!" "Okay," Morelli said. "So what have you got?" "A feeling." "If anybody else said that to me, I'd walk away." (Emphasis done) "Mo's gone FTA on a carrying charge. It would have gotten him a fine and a slap on the hand. It doesn't make sense." "Life never makes sense." "I've been out looking for him. He's nowhere. His car is gone, but his garage door was left open. There are dry goods in the garage. Things he wouldn't want stolen. It doesn't feel right. His store has been closed up for two days. No one knows where he is. His sister doesn't know. his..."

"I have a list of Kenny's friends. I'm going through it."
"Where'd you get this list?"
"Privileged information."
"You broke into his apartment and stole his little black book."
"I didn't steal it. I copied it."
"I don't want to here any of this. You're not carrying concealed, are you?"
"Who, me?"
"Shit, I must be crazy to work with you."

Look Alive Twenty Five by Janet Evanovich Review
Tumblr media
Plot
There's nothing like a good deli, and the Red River Deli in Trenton is one of the best. World-famous for its pastrami, cole slaw, and for its disappearing managers. Over the last month, three have vanished from the face of the earth, and the only clue in each case is one shoe that's been left behind. The police are baffled. Lula is convinced that it's a case of alien abduction. Whatever it is, they'd better figure out what's going on before they lose their new manager, Ms. Stephanie Plum.
Discussion
I'll admit, it's been a hot...10 years? Since I last read a Stephanie Plum mystery. I remembered a bit about what happened in previous novels, plus the core of Stephanie's character. I did adore Lula's shenanigans, especially when she hit someone with a frying pan.
However, I know her creativity with the sandwiches cost the deli a pretty profit- why didn't anyone put their foot down and tell her to stop wasting ingredients? Other than that, I loved her character.
Something that was new to me was the love triangle between Stephanie, Morelli, and Ranger. Like most characters caught in a love triangle, Stephanie finds herself at a crossroads- should she choose between detective, stable family man Morelli, or the overprotective, enticing, and private security badass Ranger? Personally, why not both for a change?? I'm just kidding...or am I?

Game on is the twenty-eighth book in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. It is, however, the first I have read. The series has long been on my list to try, and this book does not disappoint. I was apprehensive about not starting with book 1, but I was able to enjoy this one regardless. It feels like it is likely a reliable series when you are in the mood for a pick-me-up adventure.
Review for NetGalley.
