I haven’t had a healthy sleep schedule since middle school anon. It’s certainly not enjoyable, especially when I’ve stayed up all night buuuut, I know how to make sure I don’t pass out.

Just Stiles casually being obsessed with Derek's hands and one night when they're in bed Stiles sleepily runs his finger tips over the back of Derek's hand and fingers. An equally sleepy Derek asked why he was doing that and Stiles doesn't reply with nothing but a mumbled 'beautiful' and casually falls asleep while leaving Derek a blushing confused mess, end tweet :>

Sorry if I'm overstepping dear anon but this came out of nowhere so here you have a small snippet??

Stiles has a certain appreciation for Derek's hands. They're big, veiny and bigger than Stiles'. Where he has slender figures, Derek's are bigger, no callouses on the pads because he's a werewolf and werewolves don't get callouses despite all the hard work Derek does with his hands. His nails are trimmed short, and Stiles knows Derek trims and buffs them every day because they grow back a little every time Derek uses his claws and Derek doesn't like it.

Stiles likes Derek's hands. He likes Derek's fingers, too. He likes them when they're spread across his back, or holding his waist, or grabbing his own hand, or slipping in an out of him when they're having sex. Derek's hands are beautiful, a work of art, really, just like the rest of him. And Stiles loves to hold Derek's hands, loves it when they're walking around town with their fingers laced together, or when they're sitting on the couch and Derek lets Stiles play with his hands. He loves it when they're in bed together and Derek sneaks an arm around him to hold him close and Stiles gets to trace paths on his free hand as he doses off.

"What are you doing?" Derek asks in that infinitely fond voice of his that is reserved only for Stiles. It's clear out, sunlight filtering through the curtains, but they're both on the verge of falling asleep. Stiles is tracing the bones in Derek's hands with his fingertip, touch featherlight as he makes his way across the index finger to the wrist.

"Hmm," Stiles merely hums, not really having a reason for doing this other than he likes it. His mind is numb with sleep, and he doesn't want to stop what he's doing. "Beautiful," he mumbles at last, a suitable explanation. He falls back asleep almost immediately after, hand on top of Derek's as Stiles snuggles deeper into the werewolf's embrace.

Hey, I was just wondering what age you thought Derek was in season one? Cause it’s a heavily debated and unknown piece of information. Me personally I always thought he was 19 in the pilot, and this was before I had read anything about the writers wanting him to be that age in the pilot. It was just the way he acted, to me, it doesn’t seem like a mid-20s man. Also stiles says the fire happened “ like ten years ago” but then a few episodes later Peter says he’s been in a coma for 6 years. So I was just curious what you thought. Also stiles saying that is always made out to be taken as it literally happened exactly ten years ago, and people always bring it up but they never talk about how long Peter said it had been.

This is a very tricky subject to handle, because the writers made mistakes in their own timeline so they switched things around.

But in the very first episode Stiles says that Derek is only a few years older than them. I always figured that Derek was around 19 in Season 1, while Stiles was 16.

The reason why they messed everything up so horribly is because they hadn't actually created a timeline for all the events when they started writing, and to me, it made the show feel like a fan fiction writer who was just making it up as they went and then all the reviewers were saying, "Hey, you have a few continuity errors," and instead of trying to make it work, they just made something up and didn't really try to go back and adjust anything.

There's a scene that happens when Stiles is asking Peter and Cora about Derek's past (Season 3, Episode 8 "Visionary"), and he is trying to find out how old they are, and this train wreck section of dialogue occurs:

Stiles: Okay, if Derek was a sophomore back then, how old was he? How old were you? ...How old are you now? Peter: Not as young as we could have been, but not as old as you might think. Stiles: Okay, that was frustratingly vague. How old are you? Cora: I'm seventeen. Stiles: See, that's an answer. That's how we answer people. Cora: Well, seventeen how you'd measure in years. Stiles: Alright, I'm just gonna drop it.

This dialogue made me so pissy when I heard it the first time because I knew that this was the writers' response to the viewers and fans. The fans are Stiles in this conversation, and the writers are Peter and Cora being purposely "frustratingly vague" in the hopes that we'll just "drop it", which a lot of us did because they wouldn't give us any straight answers.

They messed up and they know it.

In my head canon -- because it makes the most sense to me -- Derek is three years older than them. Canonically, Derek is actually only ten days older than me, as seen in this enhanced screencap right here (from Season 1, Episode 11, where Kate has him kidnapped and held up in chains):

So according to this he would have been around 22, about to turn 23 in the first season...but here's something to take into consideration. This driver's license isn't for California -- it's for New York. I have a theory that he got a professional fake I.D. so that he could do more jobs (such as bartending) while he was out of state.

Now, when Stiles mentions the fire was "like, ten years ago," I genuinely think that he was just generalizing. Derek was sixteen when Kate took advantage of him raped him, which means that the fire happened when Stiles was around twelve/thirteen (as he has a canonically April 8th birthday, so it all depends on the months).

Regarding anything Peter might have said...please remember that it has been firmly established in the show that Peter is an unreliable narrator. Stiles openly admits that to Cora in the previously mentioned Season 3, Episode 8, "Visionary".

A lot of these issues are because of the lack of consistency from the writers.

I think the biggest problem was when they cast a younger Peter and totally threw the timelines off, trying to make him only a few years older than Derek -- which he wasn't. Peter is Derek's uncle, for crying out loud! The man would have been in his late twenties, early thirties when Derek was a teen, barely looking any different than he does in the show...and yet the writers and producers thought that making him look almost like a teenager was the right call.

I do think it was a last ditch attempt to try and make Derek waaay older than Stiles because they didn't like the shipping -- but they had already established too much of their timeline at that point and simply messed up and didn't have the guts to admit it.

Simply put, I genuinely think Derek was nineteen and turned twenty during season one.

“Okay, anyone wants to tell me how this catastrophe happened?” Bill asked thru gritted teeth as he rubbed the bridge of his nose.

“Well, a few millennias ago, a race of powerful-”

“I am not talking about the Solar Flare and you know it!” Bill glared at his only son who had been a quiet obedient kid…

Until he became friends with the three banes of Bill’s existence…

The other three narrowed their eyes at him which Bill ignored.

They had always been a bit too protective of his son.

But that only served to spoil Desmond and Bill wished he could find a way to pull him away from their ‘influence’ but they were the best field agents right now and Desmond needed to learn from the best.

But that did not mean…

Bill turned his laptop around where a video titled “Awesome Beastmaster Clears By The White Hood Gang!” was paused. It already had 21 million views and it had only been a goddamn day since it was uploaded. That kind of statistic was simply too much and Bill was quite sure Abstergo most probably rewatched this… a lot.

“So… anyone wants to explain this to me?”

All four men remained quiet and adopted blank expressions on their faces.

“Did none of you even consider that those cameras would have been recording even IF the shooting was scheduled tomorrow?!”

They all looked at one another before Ezio, their usual spokesperson, explained, “We were running away from Templars after acquiring the POE they had been delivering nearby. We noticed the obstacle course and decided it would be much faster to proceed thru it than to go around it, perhaps even lose some of our pursuers in the course itself and give us more time to get away.”

Ezio was surprisingly serious as he concluded, “It was a calculated risk we needed to take to accomplish the mission.”

Bill stared at him with a ‘don’t bullshit me, kid’ expression as he pushed the spacebar.

The laptop’s tiny speakers soon let out Ezio’s holler of “You gotta be faster than that, fratello mio! My younger brother is faster than you!”

Ezio didn’t twitch even as Bill said, “And was trash-talking Altaïr also necessary in completing the mission?”

The video kept playing and they heard a commentator that had been added to the video announce, “Oh! White Hood No 1 just grabbed 2 from the back and pulled him down! He skids- AND he’s able to hold on to the chains!”

Bill turned his not-angry-only-disappointed-and-having-a-headache-because-of-your-stupidity expression at Altaïr, “And sabotaging Ezio? Was that also necessary?”

“It was planned,” Altaïr replied vaguely and all four kept their blank expressions on.

Bill glared at the supposed prodigy of their Brotherhood and wondered if Rashid would mind if he hit his grandson on the head with a rolled-up newspaper.

Repeatedly.

“And 3 and 4 just jumped over 2! 4 is even laughing and-”

“A little help?!”

“You can do it! We believe in you!”

“-It seems 3 and 4 will not be helping 2 up!”

Bill turned to glare at his son and Ratonhnhaké:ton who he had thought would be above all this.

It seemed he had been wrong.

Bill finally clicked the spacebar once more to pause the video and rubbed the bridge of his nose again as he announced, “All of you are off the field until further notice. You will all be in support duty while Erudito cleans up your mess. Report to Shaun for further instructions.”

“Yes, sir.” They all answered curtly.

“Dismissed.”

He waited until they were all out of his office. Then waited a couple of minutes more to be sure they wouldn’t see him in their Eagle Vision before groaning as he slumped into his seat. He took the secret bottle of scotch he had in the bottom drawer of his office desk and didn’t bother to take the glass next to it, simply twisting the cap off and taking a large swing from the bottle itself.

Maybe he should just ship them all to Achilles.

Make them do actual ‘field’ work as punishment.

Then again…

Achilles would probably hunt him down and cane him in a week or so of having to deal with their own brand of bullshit.

Finale predictions?

Soooooo I am so late to respond to this, but I do have thoughts. They are going to the summit to take the file, they have no other plans as of now, so that means something happens while they are there.

When they get there, Rick is going to spin some story about jumping from the helicopter when they were going to wreck or something like that. The important bit is that he is the only survivor. I don't think he will even speak about Jadis. No one needs to know Jadis is dead until after they get the file.

Rick is going to get the briefing, and I think Beale is going to tell him about variants and a second end of the world. He'll tell him the only way humanity survives is to start over. They will level Portland, then every other corner of America, before moving on to the rest of the world. They plan to take out the living and Dead alike.

After that, I am up in the air for what might happen. I think the summit will blow up, but that can't be it. This base isn't the CRM. They are so much more than that, and if Beale dies, I will be disappointed. He isn't even really a villain right now. He has to do something to make him more of a villain than Jadis has been.

I think he already knows about Alexandria. The CRM is supposed to be all-knowing; there is no escaping, and so far, they have escaped twice. Once with the boat and the second by jumping out of the chopper. I think they will destroy Alexandria, so Rick has nothing to go back to. I belive the opening minutes of ep 5 was Gabe experiencing this. He will come back to the ruins of Alexandria.

In retaliation, Rick and Michonne will use the chlorine gas set for Portland to take out the summit, but they know that's not the end of it. Any base can take out Portland. Yes, they've dealt a big blow, but they didn't defeat the CRM.

I think they go back to the CRP and they will bring it down from within. I think we get a second season.

I'm so glad someone agrees. Stiles and TK are so much alike. Just chaotic, danger seeking, sarcastic yet loving and devoted guys! Noah and Owen have the patience of a saint. I said this in a post, but both dads also distanced themselves emotionally for a bit due to trauma and loss but have managed to rebuild beautiful relationships with their boys. And like you said, both are super protective of their sons and vice versa.

I feel like Stiles is what TK was as a teenager. Dylan is roughly the same age as Ronen, but a part of me still pictures him as Teen!TK (if he wore colored contacts).

Especially as we all know Stiles was 💅🏻

Also, the scene where Noah handcuffs Stiles to the desk is so Owen and TK.

I could even see TK watching the show and being like "Damn, this is so me and my dad..."

Anyway, excuse the rambling. I'm so glad to find someone else who sees the similarities between these guys!

Are you pack mom?

Erm, no? We’re all pretty much the same age and friends, we’re a pack and a family and there’s a bit of a structure in terms of leadership I guess but pack mom isn’t what I would call myself.

I love the others, and I’d do pretty much anything for them. But I’ll not exactly kidding their bruises or being treated like someone’s mother.

Your previous Sterek post made me realize that the only reason I don't ship Sterek is because to me Derek is an adult. I always knew he was older but once they paired him up with Jennifer I was like that's an adult.

If Derek would have looked younger or if they had been more clear about his age I would've 100% shipped Sterek.

That’s completely fair! I personally never considered him one because he was depicted to be much younger in the earlier seasons and that stuck to me even when they retconned him and made him out to be much older. To me he’ll always be just a couple of years older than Stiles, so I never found it all that weird.

Also, his history with older women started allegedly when he was a teenager, so when Jennifer appeared I was like, oh I don’t like this, but I wasn’t really surprised. Derek has a record of being used by older women. When JD said Jennifer used magic to seduce Derek I was even less surprised, because to me that relationship was always a bit… off. But that’s a thing for another post so I won’t delve deep into it.

Anyway. What I’m trying to say is that it’s completely okay if you don’t ship it, for whatever reason, and the age thing is understandable. Even if you see the chemistry between the characters you don’t have to ship it.

Hi, I have a question for you. what do you think is the relevance of Stiles asking Lydia to open her eyes in 5x16? I love, love, love that scene, but every time that I watch it, I wonder if it's a callback to or a parallel with some other scene...? in the end I always ascribe it to the fact that Lydia's eyes were so expressive and that Stydia would have unspoken conversations, but I can't make up my mind. what do you think? 🥹❤️

I’m nearing the end of a Teen Wolf rewatch, and your ask came the day after I saw 5x16 – so…great timing and great question!

I love this scene too. So much. It’s without a doubt one of the most iconic, most powerful moments—not just in Stydia history, but in all of TW (not that I’m biased or anything). Besides the fact that it’s Stiles and Lydia, and that the love between them is SO obvious, another thing that makes it so great is that it’s completely unparalleled. I can’t think of a scene before or after that even vaguely mirrors this one. And I’m hoping that’s more than just a stroke of luck, that the writers and showrunners knew nothing could ever come close to it. What’s that saying the Stilinskis have? Once is an incident. Twice is a coincidence. Three times is a pattern. Stiles and Lydia pulling each other back is definitely a pattern. They’ve always shared an unspoken connection. Always been able to communicate with a look. Always been able to get through to each other—no matter the circumstances.
