some of y’all seem extra upset about dylan not being back instead of arden on the topic of the nogitsune as the main villain and it’s strange ,,,,, like controversial opinion but stiles not being back does not affect me like kira, who got sidelined in season six despite being one of the most interesting characters all because JD had no use of her culture anymore (plus arden being fucked over by being paid less) and theo not being present and scott more than likely again not having anything narratively centered on him and mason seemingly being fucked over too with this pro cop agenda bs but y’all did not hear that from me

I really like the idea of stiles coming from a relationship with a feeder that just didn't work out and now he's like shit, I'm never going to find anyone that likes this again. Enter Derek, who loves stiles' round gut and soft body and is very into the idea of helping him grow more. Stiles can't really believe it at first but here's Derek handfeeding stiles bite after bite of fattening Chinese food and ice cream and cake until he's too full to move and yeah, stiles is so on board with this.
Yes I LOVE this idea always. Stiles goes to the FBI away from the pack and discovers…a lot about himself. Maybe starts a gainer blog, meets his boyfriend…and eventually they break up and the Sheriff’s increasing age and supernatural threats being Stiles back to Beacon hills…
Sadly single and with a ache for someone to feed him and fatten him. And he hasn’t gained that much. Maybe 75pounds in the 2 years he’s been gone, enough to pack on a solid belly and his face softens a bit, but he’s still just chubby. (Not at all as big as those pictures Stiles jerks off to while he’s shoveling fries into his mouth, wondering what it would be like to have hundreds and hundreds of pounds hanging heavily off how frame).
But back among all the wolves? Stiles looks downright fat. He doesn’t let the looks or comments bother him- he knows what he’s into and who he is, and like hell he’s going to turn down more dessert because his dad tells him looks like “he enjoyed himself” in his time away.
The only one who confuses him is Derek. Who keeps sliding his leftovers over to Stiles- when he knows the wolves have an appetite even bigger than his- or who innocently drops by to “check in” on him and then suggests they order takeout. If it was anyone else, Stiles would immediately peg them as a feeder. But there’s no way “I live off push-ups and lean chicken” Derek Hale is getting off watching Stiles eat his weight in Chinese takeout.
Except he is. And it’s so painfully obvious Stiles eventually says something, probably hidden as a joke “Does this make me the big bad wolf’s little pig?”
Derek feeds him another crab Rangoon and squeezes his belly.
“There’s nothing *little* about you, Stiles.”
“Does that mean I shouldn’t gain more, then?”
Derek stops breathing for a moment and looks at Stiles and what he’s offering and just growls “I think you should never stop.”
****
And I also stand by one of my other favorite tropes which- is Derek being obsessed with human!Stiles and how he gains. Everything a werewolf doesn’t experience…The stretch marks that explode literally everywhere- places Derek didn’t even know COULD get stretchmarks. The way Stiles’ seems to be full beyond belief, eyes glazed over, belly visibly rounder in his lap…and yet he still tells Derek he can handle a few more bites. Starts out eating even *Scott* at pack dinners, which Derek is waaay too proud of.
Seeing Stiles struggling to get up because he’s so full, waiting for the day he starts actually outgrowing some of their furniture, never mind just his clothes. Listening to the wheezing, out of shape panting as Stiles has to waddle around hauling more and more weight on his frame. Derek obsessively catalogues everything- not just the numbers on the scale but how every part of Stiles from his double chin to his sausage like fingers and toes are just…expanding with fat and neither of them can get enough.

MEET THE MIKAELSONS| D.H.
Pairing: Derek x Fem! Reader, Teen Wolf x The Originals (requested)
Word count: 1962 words
Warning: none, just fluff
Summary: Reader takes her friends and her boyfriend, Derek to visit her family home where they find out that she’s related to the infamous Mikaelson vampires.
“Just don’t touch anything,” I command calmly, Stiles pausing mid air as his hand hovers over one of Klaus’s paintings and everyone allows for a soft laugh, Derek kissing the side of my head as his hand remains inside my back pocket.
“This place is beautiful,” Lydia notes, looking around slowly as her eyes move over the various features of the compound.
“Yeah,” I say with a shrug, walking deeper into the compound as I mimic her actions, mentally comparing the way it looks to the pictures Rebekah sent me with her letters and I can’t help but smile when my eyes settle on the Mikaelson crest, fingers reaching out mindlessly as I trace the carved wall numbly.
“What does it stand for?” Derek asks, moving behind me where he wraps his hands around my waist, face resting on my shoulder. My smile grows due to the gesture, free hand finding one of his.
“Mikaelson,” I note softly, memories of our family suddenly speeding through my mind like a slideshow, things I’d told myself I’d forgotten completely proving to be embedded into my brain.
“Like the ancient vampire family?” Scott asks, having disappeared to the bathroom for a minute as soon as we got here.
“More vampires?” Stiles asks from behind me, and I nod.
“Yeah, they’re the first of their kind,” I explain, though my attention is far from this conversation, a feeling similar to the one I felt when I explained this to Derek, him being the only one knowing not only who I truly am and where I come from, but whom I was running from. “The Originals,” I add, and Derek gives me a slight squeeze, turning me around in his arms, probably picking up on my dazed state.
“Cool,” Is all Stiles offers as a reply, taking Lydia’s hand as Scott follows them to explore more of the house.
“You okay?” He whispers, leaning towards me. I nod in his hold, hands moving to his arms.
“Just a little weird being here, I guess.” I look up to him, smiling slightly when our eyes meet. “I thought that when I finally got to see this place in all its glory, they’d be here with me, waiting maybe,” Derek nods with understanding, smiling sympathetically.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” He loosens his grip, leaning back to get a better look at me. “We can leave if you’re not comfortable,” He offers sweetly and I shake my head with a smile, kissing his lips quickly.
“No,” I tell him though I can’t hide the slight rise in my tone, his brows furrowing as a result. “We need to let things cool down in Beacon Hills and no one will bother us here,” I pause, sighing softly as I move my hands over his bare arms. “Besides, there’s a literal coffin around here somewhere with my name on it.”
“Wait really?” Derek asks intrigued as he looks around the room pointlessly. I nod, not fighting against the smile on my lips.
“Yeah, a dagger too, but I doubt we’ll find that just laying around,” I pull away from him briefly, taking his hand in mine as I guide him towards the hallway by the staircase where Stiles’ is excitedly gesturing towards the wall.
“It’s her!” He announces loudly, eyes moving over the painting that Klaus painted of our family, and I subconsciously tighten my grip on Derek’s hand, his thumb moving up and down against my skin to soothe me.
“It’s not her,” Lydia argues with a roll of her eyes, arms folded as Scott simply watches the scene unfold. “It’s far more likely to be a relative that looks remarkably a lot like her,” She reasons and Derek bites back a grin at my side.
“She’s a vampire, right?” Stiles ask, looking to me for conformation and I nod, seeing no need for the question as he literally walked in on me sipping from a blood bag a few months ago. “And she’s been annoyingly vague about her family and her history, right?” He asks, question directed at Scott and Lydia this time, they both nod. “And she brought us to her family home, which has paintings of the Mikaelson family which Scott saw in the bestiary, where he also read that the Mikaelson family also have a long-lost hybrid sister who hasn’t been spotted in years…” Stiles nods eagerly as he waits for the pieces to fall together, Scott and Lydia looking to me as it does.
“Are you a Mikaelson?” Scott asks, hands in his pockets as he shifts on his feet, I release a shaky breath before offering a mere nod as reply, Stiles almost jumping up and down with the conformation of him being correct.
“Holy shit,” Stiles begins and turns to me, eyes sparkling with excitement. “That is so cool, like literally the coolest thing you’ve ever told us about yourself,” He informs me, and Derek shakes his head at my side, glaring at the boy as he continues to grow more excited.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Scott asks hesitantly, ignoring Stiles who is fiddling with his jacket sleeves as he takes a closer look at my specific painting. “Didn’t you trust us?” He adds as well, and I shake my head quickly.
“Of course I trust you,” I begin, and Derek squeezes my hand again, reminding me to breathe as I think of the best way to explain this. “I wanted to tell you all, truly I did, but our family has enemies around every corner, and I didn’t want to bring you guys into that,” I look over all of them quickly before turning to meet Derek’s gaze. “I love you all too much to create unnecessary collateral damage.“
“So why tell us now?” Lydia questions with a raised brow and I notice the added heartbeats filling the room behind us before I could fathom a reply, the gushing wind of their entrance still swirling around us.
“Because you’re in need of our assistance,” A familiar voice explains, and I close my eyes for a second in preparation before turning to face my older brother.
“Elijah,” I whisper in acknowledgement, the words barely leaving my lips before he’s picking me up into his arms, twirling me around in a welcoming hug that causes a childlike giggle to erupt from my lips. “I’ve missed you too,” I confirm, hands on his shoulders as he sets my feet back on the ground and I take a moment to center myself. “And you,” I say when my eyes meet with Rebekah’s, happy tears tugging at her eyes and I release myself from Elijah’s presence to pull her into my arms, her arms folding around my neck as she holds me close.
“It has been far too long, Y/n ,” She whispers, laughing lightly through her tears. She squeezes me tightly before pulling away, hands moving to comb back the hair that’s been ruffled through our hug and her hands still on my cheeks as she takes me in. “My little sister, even more beautiful than I remember,” She notes, which earns a scoff from both my lips and Elijah’s.
“I look exactly the same, Bekah and you know it,” I muse, taking the handkerchief from Elijah’s hands to hold it out for Rebekah . “Though, I’d never turn down the compliment from the beauty of the family.”
“Oh, I take great offense by your insinuation, love, ” Klaus announces, and everyone turns to the entrance, where he leans against the wall, watching the interaction. “Welcome home, Y/n,” He notes with a large smile, and I know as far as greeting go, that’s quite the scene from the hybrid.
“Thank you, Niklaus,” I offer in the same and my cheeks practically hurt form the pure excitement rushing through me at seeing them all again, the nerves and discomfort from earlier slipping away almost completely, until Klaus’ eyes meet Derek’s and suddenly reality sinks back in. I take a few steps back, smiling up at Derek before rejoining our hands, my other hand snaking around his upper arm to keep him close. “I should introduce everyone,” I note with a nervous smile and Derek simply nods reassuringly.
“I’d begin with the creature you’re so eagerly latching onto,” Klaus announces, happy tone from earlier replaced with the all so familiar big brother voice.
“Play nice, Niklaus,” Elijah instructs, accepting my grateful smile before silently commanding me to continue.
“This is my boyfriend, Derek,” I begin, looking up at the man as he extends a hand towards Elijah inducing the longest handshake I’ve ever had to endure until Rebekah clears her throat, the two men pulling away from each other. “Then there’s Lydia, Stiles and Scott,” I add, releasing a small huff of air as I gesture to each of them individually.
“It’s good to meet all of,” Rebekah speaks up, catching my gaze with a warm smile before she looks to my guests. “We’re the Mikaelsons,” She explains, and I nod lightly. “Elijah, Klaus and I’m Y/n’s personal favorite, Rebekah,” She declares simply, mimicking my gesture until everyone has extended an acknowledging nod.
“We should talk business,” Klaus commands suddenly, standing from his leaning position to walk towards us. “You bunch are here for a reason, aren’t you?” He muses with a slight wink my way and I roll my eyes at the remark, knowing that only he would take this opportunity to take a jab at my decision to leave them.
“Don’t start, Niklaus,” Elijah offers with a tight tone and I would’ve laughed if the room wasn’t so tense, a sense of familiarity filling me at the little group dynamic that’s remained the same through all these years.
“I’m not starting anything, Elijah,” Klaus replies, hurriedly pulling his leather jacket straight. “I’m simply trying to remind our dear sister that she is here on what she called a family favor and that we wouldn’t want to waste her precious time,” I’m too late to stop the soft laugh that escapes my lips, Klaus turning towards be in slight shock.
"Honestly Klaus, it has been centuries and you're telling me that no one has yet to remove that stick from your ass?” I mock and Elijah steps forward, fully prepared to stop the interaction when a smile traces the hybrids lips.
“Little sister,” He muses and then shakes his head, pointing at me. “You have booked yourself a long dinner,” He announces and pats Elijah on the shoulder to invite him to leave the room with him. Elijah spares me a brief smile before following.
“That went better than expected,” Rebekah notes and I smile at her, nodding with relief as Klaus and Elijah begin discussing the diner plans on their climb up the stairs. “Why don’t I show you three your rooms,” she says and motions for Scott, Stiles and Lydia to follow them, pausing to give me a quick kiss on the cheek before leading them away as well. I turn to Derek with a smile, his eyes already waiting for mine as I do.
“You did good, sweetheart,” he tells me, making my heart swell as I lean into him. “I’m very proud of you,” He adds, and I feel a blush creeps onto my cheeks.
“I couldn’t have done it without you at my side,” I say simply, resting my chin against his chest as I look up at him. He hums lightly, shaking his head as he lifts his free hand to gently push the hair behind my ear.
“You definitely could have,” He muses and gently kisses my forehead, sending a welcome rush of pure bliss through my veins, I smile as he lingers close. “My brave girl.”

Stood Up Part 6
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Requested: hey, I was wondering you could write a stile stilinski fic where 5 years earlier he leaves the reader at the altar and comes back five years later and turns out they have a kid
Pairing: Stiles Stilinski x Reader
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5
Third Person POV
Scott moved towards (y/n) before taking a crying Lilly into his arms. “What’s going?” His question was intended for (y/n) but Stacey giggled before she moved towards the three.
“What’s going on? I’m just here to see my step-daughter, it’s only right that I get to know her before she comes and lives with me, wouldn’t you agree (y/n)?” Stacey looked at her, pure evil in her eyes, there was no way around that, even with her six-month pregnant belly she looked nothing innocent.
“You have no right to be here, leave.” Scott was losing his patience. Between Stiles and Stacey, he didn’t know how he was going to protect his girls.
“Oh but I do. Like I told (y/n) earlier, this isn’t going to end well for her. She's only making this harder on herself. The faster she comes to terms that Lilly is going to be ours soon, the faster we can get out of her hair.” Stacey placed her hands on her small bump.
“She’s not yours! She’s not a fucking doll that you can just come and take. She’s my daughter and as an expecting mother I would hope you’d understand the pain Stiles is putting me through for trying to take her from me.” (Y/N)’s chest heaved as anger rolled out of her, stepping next to Scott as Lilly cried into his neck.
“Oh, I understand quite well. You kept her from him for five years, what do you think that has done to him? You've had your time now it’s his turn. How much money do you have (y/n)?” Her eyes wondered through her home. “Because to me it looks like you don’t have much. How are you supposed to take care of your daughter if you can’t even afford to live in a decent place? Child Services won’t be lenient with you, I hope you realize that.” She smirked and looked at Scott. “You think just because you have a man here that everything will be alright, that he’ll protect you and Lilly but what Lilly needs is her father, she needs a place where she can see a future for herself, we can give her that. We can be her perfect family.” Lilly’s sobs broke the banter (y/n) was about to unleash.
“I don’t want to leave mommy.” She sobbed as her red eyes looked at (y/n) Scott rubbed her back as he kissed her head.
“You’re not going anywhere baby, I promise.” (Y/N) gulped, the tears burning her eyes as she tried her best to be strong for her daughter.
“I think you should leave; you’re not welcomed here.” Scott, ever the sweetheart, spoke calmly.
“You can run me out as much as you want, I'll always be around. I’m tied to her now, I hope you realize that.” She grinned before turning her back towards the three and walking out of the house. (Y/N) instantly sagged her tensed shoulders and looked down at her feet, the tears spilling like a waterfall now.
“Don’t cry baby, I won’t let anything happen to either of you.” Scott promised as he wrapped an arm around (y/n) and pulled her into him. Lilly lifted her head and looked at the tears in her mother’s eyes and continued to cry as she reached for her. She’d always seen her mom smile, she’d only seen her cry recently and it scared her. (Y/N) took her into her arms and sighed as she kissed her head.
“Don’t cry babygirl, everything is going to be okay.” Only it wasn’t. (Y/N) had no idea what Stiles plans were, she’d fight heaven and hell for her daughter and no matter what happened she wasn’t going down without a fight.
_____
Days passed without a word from Stiles which was worrisome. The last thing she needed was for him to take action out of the blue. Every day that passed was pure hell in waiting to see what was going to happen. She held Lilly close in the weeks that came, fear of losing her getting the best of her. Scott was the one to balance them out. He was always positive, (y/n) didn’t know where he got the energy to lift their spirits up but she was more than grateful for him. Their relationship blossomed in the short weeks, the years they hidden their feelings for one another helped. Scott loved (y/n) and Lilly with his entire heart, he didn’t know they’d mean so much to him. He’d always wanted her, but he’d never tell his best friend about his feelings for her. They’d blossomed over the years in high school when she’d been there for him when no one else had. It was hard for him to keep his feeling in, but he’d never imagined Stiles leaving her. “Daddy!” Lilly yelled as she ran towards him, her arms wrapping around his legs. Scott smiled as he placed a kiss on (y/n)’s forehead. Despite only being gone a couple hours his heart had been happy to be back in the presence of his girls.
“What are you up to?” Scott picked Lilly up balancing her on his hip.
“Mommy and me are making cookies!” She wrapped her arms around Scott’s neck and placed a sloppy kiss on his cheek that made him chuckle.
“Does mommy thing more sugar is what you need?” Scott raised his eyebrow as his eyes landed on (y/n).
“She definitely doesn’t need anymore.” She laughed and shook her head. “They’re for her bake sale in school, but we might have baked a few extra ones just for you.” She gave Scott a smile that made him melt.
“You spoil me.” He pecked her lips quickly before he looked at Lilly, the resemblance to Stiles was perfervid. “How about we go see what grandpa is up to, yeah? I heard he was dying to see his favorite princess.” Scott smiled at Lilly but there was something up, (y/n) sensed that the moment he suggested they’d go see Noah.
“I’m grandpa’s favorite princess?” Lilly gasped and when Scott nodded she squealed as she squirmed to get out of his arms. “Mommy let's go!” She padded to her mother and grabbed her hand and dragged her to the door.
“Not so fast, go get your shoes on. I need to get the cookies out of the oven.” Lilly ran to her room and both (y/n) and Scott moved into the kitchen. “So what is it now?” (y/n) sighed, her eyes didn’t meet Scott’s as she opened the oven.
“Can’t really say for sure, but they’re going through beacon hills like they own it. We have to stop them before they get further in, I won’t have you or Lilly in danger.” Scott shoved his hands in his pockets.
“Then I'm coming with you.”
“No.”
“No?” (Y/N) looked at Scott as she slammed the tray of cookies on the counter.
“I won’t have you in danger.”
“In case you’ve missed the past couple of years I've fought by your side to protect this town. I’ve been in danger every god damn day of my life.”
“Things are different now.”
“Things are different now?” (Y/N) scoffed as she crossed her arms over her chest. “Why are things different now Scott? Because we’re together?”
“Yes.” Scott shrugged causing her to huff out a breath of air.
“You’re being ridiculous.” (Y/N) threw the oven mitts on the counter before giving Scott her back.
“I’m not. I care about you enough to keep you safe, why can’t you see that?” He took steps towards her but stopped when she turned around.
“Who’s going to take care of you Scott?” He sighed and shook his head, no, he wasn’t going to have her in the face of danger, not while Stiles was around. Not while nothing was secured with Lilly.
“I can take care of myself.” He had done it for years. Being the Alpha there were many things Scott could do.
“You shouldn’t have to.” She stepped closer to Scott, her arms wrapping around him as she placed her head on his chest. Scott didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around her pulling her closer to him. “I love you Scott but sometimes you can be so fucking stubborn.” She sighed. “I want to take care of you the same way you want to take care of me and Lilly. We’re a family now, can’t you see that?”
“Of course, I can. But I'm not going to have you out there when Stiles is here. If something were to happen to you Lilly won’t be able to stay here with me, she’d go with Stiles and then I'd never see her again.” Scott shook his head. “She’s just as much my daughter as she is yours (y/n). But she needs you more than she needs me right now. I’ll be fine. I’ll come back to you like I always do.” He would. No matter how beaten he’d get, no matter how exhausted he was. He’d always come back to her; he’d move heaven and hell for (y/n) and she’d seen just about that before.
With Lilly and (y/n) in Noah’s house Scott couldn’t help but wonder what he’d gotten himself into. He hadn’t bothered letting anyone else in on what he was doing, (y/n) would reign hell on him if she knew what he was really up to. Secrets weren’t something Scott should be keeping, not from the girl he loved. But he had no choice, he’d die before he’d let Stiles and his witch of a fiancé take Lilly from (y/n). Something hadn’t been right with Stiles since the day he returned to Beacon Hills and Scott knew that. He’d stay up for hours on end to find out just what the fuck had happened to his best friend. With his hands in his pockets Scott sighed as he walked through the door of the abandoned building. Only then did he see Stiles, his own hands in his pockets as he glared straight at Scott. “Took you long enough.” He huffed and Scott rolled his eyes.
“Had to calm (y/n) down, didn’t want her knowing I was meeting you.” Stiles laughed.
“I can’t believe how fucking whipped you are. After all these fucking years you’ll still do whatever she asked you to do. You can’t even make your own choices without her.” He shook his head at Scott.
“I’d do anything for her, that’s the difference between us Stiles. You chose yourself; you’ve always chosen yourself. I want you gone, out of Beacon Hills, away from (y/n), away from Lilly.” He stepped closer to Stiles, both of them full of hate and anger towards each other.
“Firstly, you can have (y/n). The bitch couldn’t satisfy me anyways, she’s not why I'm here. Secondly, I don’t remember you having much of a say concerning Lilly. You may think you’re her daddy but there’s no blood there. My DNA is what runs through her blood, or have you forgotten that? I mean hell she looks just like me.” Stiles chuckled.
“Just because you share the same blood doesn’t make you a perfect fit to be a father. You got your start over; you have a child on the way. Just leave them alone Stiles all you’re doing is creating more problems.” Stiles smiled and tilted his head.
“That’s the whole point Scotty boy.” Stiles threw his arms out. “Do you remember that time your dad left? I mean how could you forget, right? You were so heartbroken you didn’t even know what to do.” A step closer had them nose to nose. “You want me to leave Lilly alone? Then I'll need you to leave just like your father did.”
“I’m not fucking doing that.” Scott fumed.
“Then I guess I'm just going to stick around and take her from you both. I mean it’s kind of selfish of you Scott.” Stiles stepped back.
“Why do you want to hurt her? Why do you want to take everything from her?”
“Because she took everything from me!” Stiles roared making it echo in the empty building. “The real reason I stood her up the day of our wedding wasn’t because I was too young or because I wanted to humiliate her. I saw her, three weeks before the wedding, I wanted to surprise her so I tracked her on her phone and made my way to her. I should have known something was up the moment I arrived at the hotel.” Stiles shook his head. “How much do you know about (y/n) Scott?” Scott furrowed his eyebrows. “I’m asking legitimately, how much do you know about her? Did you know her parents weren’t really her parents? Did you know that when she moved here, she was looking for something? Do you want to know what she was looking for Scott? She was looking for a pack.” Scott took a step back to look at Stiles.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Surely Stiles had lost his mind, there was no other way to explain this.
“I’m talking about the fact that (y/n) isn’t who she says she is. For fucks sake Scott she’s not human, she’s a witch.”

April 2021 Picks
Tumblr media
And we’re back with the end to another month. April! Wow! Lots more great picks to talk about this time. Lots of new ones to the list too. So, let’s dive in!
Spoiler territory ahead!
Tumblr media
THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER
or should I say Captain America and the Winter Soldier
I just finished the finale last night, so it felt right to start off with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I really enjoyed it and I feel the episodes got stronger as the series went on. Each one felt like a mini-movie and I was upset it was over and had to wait another week for another one. I think the finale was my favorite. Especially the reveal of Sam as Captain America. I love his suit, his speech and the montage of everyone watching him. The last part of the episode was definitely my favorite and one I can watch on repeat. I loved seeing happy Bucky and him goofing off with the kids in Louisiana. He deserves so much happiness as he has now accepted he’s no longer who he once was. Bucky and Sam’s relationship is fantastic and I can’t wait to see it more. I know there’s a possibility of a second season and they have to be in a future MCU movie. Regarding the villain, I feel I was confused for most of the show as to what their objective was. I’m curious if this is because they had to reshoot parts during the pandemic. I also am mad with Sharon. Like what happened with her? She is definitely the true villain of the show. I also don’t love that we haven’t seen the end of Walker (but Wyatt Russell did a fantastic job). I also loved Torres and I hope he becomes the next Falcon. Definitely so different vibes from Wandavision, but just as good!

THE IRREGULARS
This is a show that more people need to be talking about! It was SO GOOD! I feel like I heard some buzz about it when it first came out, but not much after. It follows the teens featured about who live on the streets during Victorian London. The leader of their group, Bea gets approached by Dr. John Watson (that’s right...as in Sherlock and Watson) to take on a case that has more supernatural qualities. The story takes off from there. I think the group dynamic was fantastic. There wasn’t a character I didn’t like and each one brought something else important to the group (which they even bring up towards the end of the show). [I’ve watched a few cast interviews since finishing the finale and they seem like they get along really well in real life too.] There is a kind of love triangle, but it didn’t bother me and was over fast. I did like both combinations though. Lots of twists and turns along the journey. I have no idea if there will be another season, but there should be. It didn’t end on a major cliffhanger, but definitely ended in a way where it could continue nicely. Come on Netflix.

HBO’S THE NEVERS
From one show set in Victorian times to the next. The Nevers just premiered on HBO and HBO Max earlier this month. It follows an ensemble of characters, similar to other HBO shows, ranging from characters who are called “the touched” to men in government who are against them. Being “touched” means they have a special talent or power, which can range from healing to speaking other languages, being extremely tall, or being an expectational inventor (I seriously love Penance. I just don’t know how to explain her ability). Amalia True and Penance Adair are two of the main characters and they help bring in others who are touched to a remodeled orphanage that is a safe haven for people like them. Of course there are those who are against them existing. This seems to be at least two groups as someone is abducting and experimenting on some of the touched, but we don’t know who they are...yet. I love the fusion of a historical setting with a fantasy element. I am very excited to see where the show is headed. I also love seeing so many of my favorite British actors on the screen together.
Tumblr media
ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND
Time for a throw back. Fans of ABC’s Once Upon a Time might remember the short lived spin off following Alice in Wonderland (and some of Aladdin). It only lasted for one season of 13 episodes, but I remember loving it and I am so happy I can rewatch it on Disney Plus. It reminds me of why I enjoyed OUAT so much and I think this show deserved another season or more crossover with the original show. (Luckily the Knave got that opportunity.) I think it should have aired as a summer show or when OUAT was on hiatus, this way more fans would have tuned in. It is something I’ll believe forever.
Anyway, I’ll stop ranting now... I love Alice. I think she’s a badass and a fierce warrior. If you follow some of my posts on my other blog, Lydia-yougowith-Stiles, you’ll know that I love a warrior romance and Cyrus and Alice fit that perfectly (even if they are apart for much of the series). I also love Alice’s hair and outfits. Everything about her is cool. Her relationship with the Knave is one of my favorite friendships ever. I think they balance each other out so well and how they spend most of the journey together. Back in the day, I totally shipped them, but now I definitely don’t. (Even though I don’t love Anastasia.) This is definitely worth the watch if you’ve ever heard of Once Upon a Time or not. There is very cheesy CGI especially for 2013, but once you get pass that you’ll love it.
Tumblr media
ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST
It was on a longer break than I expected, and I didn’t miss it as much as I thought I would (which I know doesn’t sound good for a show), but I am still loving all the episodes this season. It feels like there are more musical numbers, which I love. Mandy Moore is killing it with the choreography. There are so many amazing moments. I also was a big fan of the newest glitch episode. Everyone is so talented and I also like that we’ve started to hear from more like Jenna and Tobin. Leif has become one of my favorites. I don’t love the new neighbor next door, but I think we’re done with his storyline. I’m not loving the Zoey love triangle, but I do like her with either Simon or Max. She seems really happy with Simon now. (FYI: I haven’t watched the most recent episode yet. The glitch one was my latest.) Can’t wait for more!
Tumblr media
KUNG FU
CW’s newest show this month was Kung Fu, which I just learned was a reboot. It follows Nicky who returns after 3 years to her home in San Francisco. Her family has mixed feelings as she has had no contact with them for the last 3 years. She is now a Kung Fu master and warrior, out to avenge her mentor’s death and stop a villain from acquiring mythical weapons. The show gives me Arrow vibes every time I watch it. It has similar flashbacks each episode to an earlier time in Nicky’s life. While Nicky’s mission is different, the style just gives me early seasons of Arrow vibes, which I am not complaining about. It stars Legacies’ Alyssa Chen, who I didn’t love on Legacies, but instantly fell in love with Nicky. I think she’s a bad ass character and love how she’s fighting for the underdogs on the streets of San Fran, while also taking down a bigger evil. The love triangle is heating up and I’m definitely team Henry (even though there’s some mystery there). I think he’s great and once again we have an awesome warrior romance. They balance each other so well and it’s only been like 3 episodes. Now they’ve also been sleuthing together and it’s just amazing.
Tumblr media
NANCY DREW
Are you sick of hearing me talk about CW’s Nancy Drew? I hope not because I’m going to fangirl again. I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH! I can’t wait till Wednesday comes and I tune in a little after it starts, so then I can fast forward on my DVR. Then when the episode is over I basically start it all over again and watch select scenes that were awesome. (More specifically, they tend to be Nancy and Ace scenes because I love them and we’re entering so much angst I don’t know if my heart will be able to handle it!!!)
I’ll say it a thousand times: THIS CAST IS EVERYTHING! Their dynamic is amazing. You can have any match ups and it’ll be a great time. There is not one person I don’t like. I was so upset that there wasn’t a new episode last week (especially because it was my birthday). I loved the last one with the Hardy Boys and that Nace reveal! OMG! I’m so sad that Grant has left again because we barely had him, but I feel he’ll eventually come back. He has to. I loved the ending when he spoke to Thom by signing to him. (My heart!) I seriously can’t say enough great things about this show. It is not your typical CW show and deserves more love and views. So happy a third season has already been confirmed!!
LAST NOTES
Just started Shadow and Bone on Netflix and am loving it! I’m sure I’ll have an entire post dedicated to it when I’m done. (Currently going to start episode 6.) I have no background on the universe or the books (just what my sister is filling me in with as we watch). I definitely plan on reading Six of Crows after this!
Tumblr media
So what are you enjoying? Let me know. I’m always looking for more shows to add to the list! Can never have enough.

You Saved Me - Derek Hale x fem!reader part 3
I’m really happy that this has gotten some positive feedback, this fic is like my baby. Thanks to everyone for reading!
---------
It had been a week since getting out of the hospital and five days since the funeral. It was an odd feeling, and it didn’t make it better that it was a closed casket funeral since they had been burned so badly. It was probably for the better, that meant that the last time I saw them they were wishing me goodnight, smiling, happy, alive.
I wanted to try to get back to normal. Uncle Noah told me that it was too soon too. He said he wished he spent some more time at home with Stiles, but he didn’t have much of a choice being the sheriff. But life goes on, even if I wanted to go back in time if just for a moment. Maybe getting back to something I enjoyed would be helpful in coping. Moving into the Stilinski house had been only a little strange. I had spent the night here before, especially when I was younger and Stiles and I would pass out in the living room watching Power Rangers or Disney movies. The only thing that bothered me was that I wouldn’t be going home after this, I had my own room with new sheets, new clothes, and only a few things that had survived the fire. Uncle Noah had painted the walls a soft (your favorite color).
Everything seemed to be perfect, if you could even call it that. However, along with the fact that I lost practically everything, the person who took everything from me was still out there. Michael’s apartment had been cleaned out, his family was no longer in their home, they all just vanished.
I stared at myself in the mirror, fiddling with the locket that Stiles had given me for my sixteenth birthday. Inside was a tiny picture of us at a birthday party when we were kids, our faces painted like cats, cake around our mouths. I smiled and thought back to the hospital.
Uncle Noah left the room after giving my statement, leaving Stiles and I in the room.
“Just so we’re clear you do mean Derek Hale. Main suspect in the fire that killed his family Derek Hale.” He asked.
“Stiles, even if he did do it, why would he help me get away from Michael? If he was so crazy, why would he offer to drive me away? Why would he drive me to the hospital?” I sat up in the hospital bed.
“Maybe so he could murder you himself?” He scoffed.
“I highly doubt that.” I looked out the window. But what he said did bring up a question. Derek and I were in completely different circles in high school. He could have completely ignored me and gave me back to Michael. But he didn’t. He helped me.
I wanted to thank Uncle Noah for taking me in, so I insisted on making dinner tonight. To be honest, home cooking probably wasn’t standard at the Stilinski house. Some sort of pasta dish would probably be good.
After giving my appearance a final once over, I made my way downstairs. Stiles was on the couch, eating ramen noodles.
“Hey, I’m gonna head to the store, you wanna come?” I asked.
He looked up mid-noodle slurp, “Uh yeah, of course. You want me to drive?”
I scoffed, “So I can feel every bump in the road?”
“Hey, Roscoe is a smooth ride.” He defended his Jeep.
“I think that’s an oxymoron.” I grabbed my keys from the hook by the door, “Let’s go.” I smiled. He threw out his noodle carton and slipped on his shoes. Interactions like this made everything easier.
Around nine, I was just watching videos on the computer, hoping that it would numb my brain enough to go to sleep. Dinner had been cut short because Uncle Noah got a call from someone and went out saying he would be home later. But that didn’t mean Stiles would go to bed, even if his first day of sophomore was in the morning.
“Hold it.” I called, not looking up from the screen, his footsteps were loud enough to wake the dead. I spun around in the computer chair, folding my fingers together, “And just where do you think you’re going, Mr. Stilinski?”
He straightened out his body, “Oh, just getting a drink of water.”
I titled my head, “Really? You’re not going to go get Scott so you can find the body in the woods?”
He squinted, “How did you know that?”
“You think you’re the only one who’s tapped into police radio?”
Stiles rubbed the back of his neck, “So are you gonna tell Dad?”
“Of course not.” I hummed, “But I’m going with you.” I stood up, zipping up my jacket. The outfit had already been prepared after the police radio chatter explained that there had been a body reported in the woods.
“(Y/N), I don’t know if that’s a good idea seeing that… you know.”
“I’m a big girl, Stiles. I can handle it. Plus, we probably won’t even find it.”
The whole way to Scott’s house was him essentially making me swear a vow of silence. As if he couldn’t trust me, he told me everything and I never tattled.
At Scott’s, I waited in the car while Stiles made his way to the front door where Scott almost took Stiles out with a bat. After some convincing, Stiles and Scott made their way to the Jeep.
“Hey, (Y/N).” Scott smiled as he got in, shoving his inhaler in his pocket. The smile was a sad one, something I would have to get used to. I was the girl whose parents were killed.
Close to the destination, Scott brought up a good question: "So which half of the body are we looking for?“
We both looked at Stiles who said: "Ahh, I didn’t even think about that."
"And what if whoever killed the body is still out here?” Scott added. This made me realize that maybe coming was a mistake. Michael was still on the loose, who was to say that this wasn’t another victim. And worse, that could have been her body out in the woods, or at least half of it.
“Also something I didn’t think about."
“Did you think about anything?” I piped in before we finally parked outside the main trails into the woods.
-
About fifteen minutes into our hike, I stopped to make sure Scott didn’t fall too far behind. He had the worst case of asthma I had ever seen, he couldn’t walk for very long without needing his inhaler. I knew how much he wanted to play lacrosse, but I really didn’t think it was possible.
Midthought, I was pulled down the trail with Scott by Stiles.
“What the he-” I began, but Stiles shushed me. The sound of dogs rang out in the darkness. Without thinking, I started running with Stiles, leaving Scott behind. Our running was stopped abruptly by a dog, who barked and snarled at us from the ground.
“Heel! Hang on, hang on.” Uncle Noah called to the officer restraining the dog, “This delinquent belongs to me. And so does this one. This I didn’t expect.” He looked from Stiles to me. I stood up, brushing the dirt off my behind.
“I was uh…babysitting.”
“Right. Babysitting.” He nodded along, very clearly not believing me. He looked back to Stiles, “Where’s your usual partner in crime?”
“Who?” Stiles asked, “Scott? Scott’s home. Said he wanted a good night’s sleep for back to school tomorrow. It’s just me and (Y/N). In the woods. Alone.” I elbowed his side at his terrible lie.
Uncle Noah brought up his flashlight, looking in the trees and called for Scott. When he got no answer, he put the light down.
“Well, young man, I’m going to walk you back to your Jeep. You too, missy.” He wrapped an arm around both of our shoulders, “We can all have a little conversation about the invasion of privacy.” I took one last glance in the woods, hoping Scott was okay. And if Michael was the one to do this, I really hoped that Scott would be at school tomorrow.
The next day was the beginning of lacrosse season, meaning the beginning of work. Around one in the afternoon, I made up my lacrosse bag and had a quick lunch and went out to my car. I opened the driver’s side door but I paused, having an eerie feeling crawl up my spine, like I was being watched. I checked my surroundings but saw nothing. Without another thought about it, I made my way towards the high school.
-
I made it just in time for lacrosse practice to start, Coach Finstock was on the sidelines. He had his usual look of discontent. I made my way to his side. He looked at me out of the corner of his vision, then back to the players making their way on the field.
“Is there any way you could She’s the Man this and be on the team.” He asked.
I held onto the strap of my bag, “That would be cheating, Coach. But I would if I could.” He patted me on the back.
“Good to have you back, (Y/L/N).” He blew his whistle, “Alright, gather ‘round, ladies. Let’s keep this short so we can practice and maybe get something down today. This is (Y/N), my assistant coach. If I see any of you hormonal monsters so much as look at her the wrong way, I will make sure this season will be hell for you. That means you, Greenberg.” After some more instruction, he sent the boys off on their way. Stiles waved at me before starting to run laps. Since it was the first day, Coach said that just sitting in the bleachers would work for today. To be honest, it felt like he was taking it easy on me, if that were even possible for him to do. I sat up on the bleachers, watching all of the players run. I did see Scott so that meant he survived the night in the woods.
“Hi.” A soft voice came from beside me. I looked up, seeing a brown hair girl had made her way to sit besides me.
“Hey.” I said back, she didn’t seem familiar at all, maybe a new kid in town.
“Come to watch your boyfriend?” She pointed to Stiles, whose legs seemed to work out of sync with his body.
“Oh no no, that’s my friend. I’m also the assistant coach.” I held my hand out, “(Y/N).”
“Allison.” She shook my hand and looked back out at the field.
“You’re new, huh?” I asked.
“Is it that easy to tell?” She chuckled.
“Nah, you just didn’t look familiar. Was your last school into lacrosse too, or…?”
“Oh uh, no, I came to see him.” She vaguely pointed in the direction of Scott.
“Scott? Yeah, he’s a nice guy.” I smiled.
“I know. He gave me a pen in class today, which was a life saver because I lost mine.”
After a moment, a redhead I knew all too well sat down besides Allison. Not that I knew her personally, Lydia Martin was just the girl that Stiles had been in love with since… ever.
“Are you the girl whose house burned down?” She asked. Her subtlety was immaculate. Allison, looking mortified, gave me an apologetic smile.
“Ahuh.” I shrugged, getting up from my seat, “I can’t really see the field. I’m gonna get a different angle. It was nice meeting you, Allison.” Before they could say more, I took the steps down to the grass.
“McCall!” Coach called, “Get in goal.”
I crossed my arms over my chest, “You think that’s gonna be a good idea? He’s never played goal before.”
“I got a feeling.” He said, also crossing his arms and calling the players to line up and make shots at the goal. I gave Scott a quick thumbs up. Coach blew his whistle, Scott grabbed at his ears like the sound was too loud. The player sidearm shot the ball at the goal, hitting Scott in the helmet and sending him on his back. I winced, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Stiles had the same reaction. This might not go well.
To my surprise, though, Scott got back up and caught the next ball that came at him. The next player to come up seemed to have an angry walk in his step.
"Who’s that?” I whispered to Coach.
“Jackson Whittemore.” He looked back, enthralled in the fact that Scott was doing well.
Jackson Whittemore was the town rich boy and did pretty well in lacrosse from what I understood. He also had a chip on his shoulder the size of Mars. He whipped the ball as fast he could, it was impressive. But it was no match for Scott’s new goalie skills.
-
After practice, Stiles, Scott, and I made our way back to the woods - this time in broad daylight- to find Scott’s inhaler that he dropped. He mentioned that while he was out, he was attacked by an animal and got bitten.
“I can hear stuff I shouldn’t be able to hear. Smell things.” He explained.
“Smell things?” Stiles scrunched up his nose, “Like what?”
“Like the mint mojito gum in your pocket.” He motioned towards Stiles. Stiles looked skeptical but when searching his pocket did find the pack of gum.
“How many sticks left?” I asked, a little amused.
“Uhhh.” he sniffed, “Two.” I took the gum from Stiles' hand and opened it.
“Well I’ll be damned.” Two sticks.
“So this all started with a bite?” Stiles took back his gum, sticking it back in his pocket.
“Could this be some kind of infection?” Scott asked.
“I actually think I’ve heard of this. It’s a different kind of infection.” Stiles shoved his hands in his jacket pockets. He gave me a side eye, I nodded.
“Are you serious?” He asked, getting more exasperated. We both nodded.
“Yeah, I think it’s called lycanthropy.” Stiles said.
“What is that? Is it bad?” Scott asked, the panic setting in.
“The worst.” I exaggerated.
“It’s worse about once a month.”
“Once a month?”
“On the night of the full moon.” Stiles sighed, as if this “infection” was terminal. The fact that Scott hasn’t gotten it yet just told me that he wasn’t paying attention during Monster Movie night. Stiles and I threw our heads back and howled towards the sky.
“Come on, guys, this isn’t funny!” Scott glared.
“Didn’t you tell your mom about it?” I asked, then realized how stupid of a question it was. If Ms. McCall had found out how late he was out and that he was in the woods looking for a body, he would have been grounded for sure.
“Of course not.” He shook his head. After that, the boys had walked a little bit ahead, still going on about Scott’s new super infection. I took a little more time looking in the bushes to see if Scott’s inhaler had fallen off the trail. The thing was bright red, it shouldn’t be that hard to find. While I searched, I zoned out everything else in the world. I thought about my parents. There was still so much that I didn’t know that they never got a chance to teach me. The last night they were alive, they had mentioned something offhand.
“(Y/D/N), when are we going to tell her?” Mom whispered, biting her nails. They spoke in the hallway, not realizing I could hear. Dad paused for a moment, then looked down at her.
“We’ll tell her tomorrow.”
I never found out what they were going to tell me.
The other thing that I couldn’t seem to get off my mind was Derek Hale. He practically risked his life to help me. If I saw someone with a knife like Michael was, I would like to believe that I would do what Derek did, but I couldn’t be sure. Besides that, I couldn’t get his face out of my head. It would be a lie if I didn’t think he was attractive. The way he looked at me with those dark green eyes. It made you feel a certain sort of way.
I looked up from the bushes I was searching and realized it was way darker than it had been and that Scott and Stiles were nowhere in sight.
“Scott? Stiles?” I called. No answer. What did answer though, was a flash of rain.
“Great. I’m lost in the woods, where there is a dead body. And even a murderer.” I moped out loud. I found my way back to what I thought was the trail and started walking. I pulled my phone from my back pocket and saw that it was completely dead. So much for calling in a rescue. Thunder roared in the sky, making my pace faster.
By now it was dark, just flashes of lightning making it easy for me to see where I was walking. I walked for what seemed like forever until I found a large house in the middle of the woods. The place seemed vaguely familiar. It was in disrepair and looked like no one had been there in years. For now, it would probably be better to wait out the storm and start walking when the rain ended. I pushed the door and stepped inside. It was still wet inside from the parts of the house that were missing, but in places where there was still roof, it was dry. I looked around, seeing something on the wall, partially burned. It was a triskelion with a name underneath. Hale. I was standing in the remains of the Hale house.
“What are you doing here?” A deep voice made me jump and turn around. Derek Hale stood in the doorway, a lightning flash lit up his face and for a moment his eyes looked blue before going back to their green color.
“I’m sorry, I just got lost in the woods and then it started raining. I-I’ll leave now.” I walked towards the door to go out again but he grabbed my arm tightly.
“Don’t go out there.” He said, looking behind him.
“Why?” I asked in a hushed voice. He looked me in the eyes, looking pretty terrifying frankly.
“You were followed here.” He said, making my blood run cold.
“Was it…?” I took a deep breath, “Was it Michael?” He shook his head, pulling me further into the house.
“No, something else.”
“Something else? What do you mean?” I asked, pulling my arm from his grip. He stopped and looked at me confused.
“Didn’t you smell it? Hear it?”
“Look, Derek, I know we never talked in high school and you barely know me, so I’ll just let you in on a little secret: I can’t smell when something is stalking me in the woods.” I looked over my shoulder at the door. There was a creaking sound coming from outside that was pretty consistent with walking. He glared out at the creaking, taking his jacket off.
“Put this on.” He held it out to me.
“Why?” I asked. Looking from the jacket to him.
“It will put my scent on you.”
“Your freaking what?” I raised my eyebrows at him. Maybe he was crazy. I was stuck in an abandoned house with whatever was outside with a crazy person.
“Will you just put it on?” He barked. No need to make a crazy man mad. I took the jacket and slipped it on. Like any other jacket it smelled like leather, but this had something else, a musky smell that would be very pleasing if the situation was different.
“Go out the back and run.” He started walking towards the door, “Now.” He didn’t need to tell me twice. I took off running as fast as I could out the back door and up the long drive way that connected the Hale property to the main road. And, like an absolute angel, Stiles appeared in his Jeep, stopping right outside the entrance to the overgrown driveway.
“(Y/N)!” He called over the rain. I ran to the jeep, got in and slammed the door behind me.
“Go, go go go go.” I said hastily, put on my seat belt and he took off.
“Why weren’t you answering your phone?!” He shouted, keeping his eyes on the road.
“I didn’t charge it before going out in the woods.” I panted, looking over my shoulder to make sure the something Derek had been talking about wasn’t behind us.
“Whose jacket is that?”
“Derek Hale’s.”
“Why do you have his jacket?!”
“Listen, I could explain right now but apparently I was being stalked back there so put this thing in gear and drive faster.”
Last night after getting home, I explained to Stiles what happened. We both agreed that it did sound like Derek was a little crazy. But the fact was that something in the woods bit Scott and it was probably better that Derek had found me instead of whatever it was.
The next morning, everything should have been a dream. The whole situation would make more sense. But Derek’s jacket was hanging on the back of her door which meant that instead of encountering Derek being a dream, it was reality. Stiles would be in school by now and Uncle Noah was definitely at work, if he even left last night to begin with. Maybe a walk would take my mind off things. I got dressed and ready and was about to walk out of my room when I caught myself grabbing Derek’s jacket to put on. This jacket wasn’t mine, I shouldn’t be wearing it. I didn’t need to have Derek’s “scent” all over me but I grabbed it anyway. There was the possibility that I would see him while I was out since I had been seeing him a hundred times more than usual. I opened the front door, seeing Derek who was just standing outside the door.
“We need to talk.”

Fucking Stiles Stilinski.
That’s what Derek would like to say.
Fucking Stiles Stilinski and his stupid face, his stupid smile, and the stupid way that Derek would always see him in the hallways and that bright look in his eyes always made him stumble. Fucking Stiles Stilinski and the way that Derek couldn’t get him out of his head for some reason.
For some stupid, unbelievable reason.
Cora thought it was hilarious. Derek thought it was the most annoying thing ever.
Stiles was the most annoying thing ever.
“Hale!”
Derek nearly stumbled over his own feet at Coach’s shout, turning around to see a basketball sailing right toward his face. Eyes rounding, he barely had the chance to duck as laughter filled the air and he glared across the gym— where all the cheerleaders stood in their little group, Stiles right splat in the middle.
Fucking Stiles Stilinski.
“I said, Hale!”
Growling, Derek turned back around as Coach stalked toward him. Derek’s older sister used to tell him that Coach’s bite was worse than his bark, but Derek had come to realize that was utter bull. If there was one thing BHHS’s basketball coach was good at, it was yelling.
“Where the hell is your head, Hale?” Coach shouted, jabbing him on the forehead. Derek swallowed another growl and let the man poke away, knowing better than to ever avidly seek out Coach’s wrath. “You’re living in a daydream today!”
“Sorry, Coach,” Derek mumbled, dropping his gaze. The sound of laughter was still in the air, though, and his eyes snapped back up unconsciously, over Coach’s shoulder as he took in Stiles’s bright and grinning face.
He was always grinning and that bothered Derek like nothing else. The way his eyes would dance, his laughter would make Derek’s heart skip a beat, and— and—
“Hale!”
Derek blinked at the shout right in his ear, feeling like he’d just been dunked into cold water. Coach was scowling now and Derek felt his face turn redder, wishing he could be anywhere else but practice at the moment. “Uh, right. Sorry, Coach.”
“Yeah, kid, you’ve said that already. Are you feeling alright today?”
“I’m fine,” Derek said, forcing himself not to look back over at where Stiles was. “Really.”
“Good,” Coach said. “Because if you miss the game this week, I’m taking you off the starting lineup for the rest of the season.”
Derek looked back at the man in alarm, but Coach just raised his hands, turning away.
“Don’t force my hand, Hale.”
Derek watched him walk away and then despite himself, despite everything, glanced over his shoulder. Most of the cheerleaders had lost interest at this point— except for Stiles. Stiles, who was still staring at him, that crooked smile still hanging on his lips. And the moment his eyes met Derek’s, something in his expression changed. He grinned wider, raised a hand, and Derek quickly turned back around.
He wasn’t doing this. He wasn’t… ugh.
Fucking Stiles Stilinski.
-
“I don’t know why, man,” Stiles said, slamming his locker shut. “But the guy hates me. You should’ve seen him at practice yesterday.”
“I don’t think he hates you,” Scott said, shrugging on his backpack. Stiles shot him a disbelieving look and the boy shrugged, starting down the hall with Stiles at his side. “I just don’t think he knows you. I mean, you guys never even talk, right?”
Stiles glowered. “I was his chemistry partner last semester and I’ve been on the cheerleading team since I was a freshman. He should know me well enough to at least smile back when I wave hi.”
“He just ignored you?”
Stiles rolled his eyes. “I dunno, dude. He gets all weird, clams up, and then pretends like I don’t exist.”
Scott gave him a curious look, but Stiles wasn’t paying his friend any attention anymore. Speaking of the devil, he eyed Derek as they passed him and a few of his buddies gathered around their lockers. And for a moment— one brief, making Stiles’s stomach clench moment— grey-green eyes met his own.
But then Hale’s face tightened, his eyes snapped away, and he slammed his locker so hard, all of his buddies jumped.
Stiles rolled his eyes, walking faster past. “See what I mean?”
Scott was still giving him a strange look. But Stiles only half-noticed it, forcing himself not to glance over his shoulder as the sounds of the jocks' voices faded. Glaring down at the floor, he wondered what the hell was so wrong with him. Or maybe what the hell was so wrong with Derek Hale.
So Stiles might have been crushing on him for three years now. So what? It wasn’t like it actually mattered judging by the fact that Hale had never even really acknowledged his existence anyway.
“Whatever,” Stiles said. “Screw Derek Hale.”
“Sure, man,” Scott said, shaking his head. And honestly, Stiles thought he was holding something back. But did he care? Absolutely not. Stiles had no cares in the world.
Especially not about Derek Hale.
-
“I’m just saying,” Erica said, readjusting her uniform and dabbing at her glossed lips. “If you like him so much, you should consider talking to him once in a while.”
Derek pulled a face, making Boyd snort at the girl’s side, one arm wrapped around her waist. The rest of the cafeteria was far too loud around them and he was trying to concentrate on the chemistry homework that he had definitely not done. Back when Stiles had been his partner, Derek had actually been driven to get it done, if only to impress the boy. Not like it’d ever worked, he didn’t think.
He didn’t really know how the hell to impress Stiles Stilinski.
“I don’t like him,” Derek growled, ignoring Isaac’s disbelieving scoff. “I just think he has no right being so loud and what the hell is up with the outfit?”
Erica shot him an obvious look, gesturing down at her own, and Derek rolled his eyes.
“That’s different.”
“Is it?” Isaac asked mildly, attention fixed on the orange he was trying and failing to peel. “Or is it because whenever you catch the sight of Stilinski in a crop top on the court, you trip over your own feet and lose the ball?”
Derek shot him an annoyed look. Isaac wasn’t even paying attention.
“He’s right,” Erica said, smirking wickedly. “But if you’d like, Der, I can put in a good word. Stiles is my Batman and he sure could use his own Clark Kent.”
“Shut up.”
“Okay, whatever,” the girl shrugged. “Just tell me if you change your mind.”
Derek glowered even more, gaze still drifting across the cafeteria. Totally not toward the table where Stiles sat surrounded by his friends, Scott’s arm slung over his shoulders in a way that definitely didn’t make Derek frown.
“Whipped,” Erica snorted across from him. Derek turned the weight of his glare toward her, trying to wipe at least some of that knowing smirk from her lips.
It didn’t work.
-
If Stiles was sure of one thing, it was that Mr. Harris hated him.
It wasn’t like chemistry was his least favorite class or anything— or at least, it didn’t use to be. But he was pretty sure Mr. Harris hated him with all his heart and soul, and that had kind of soured the class for Stiles as the year went on.
Which was why when the man stuck them with some lame-ass book assignment and proceeded to get on his phone, acting like none of his students existed, Stiles shot Scott a grin and held out his hand, making a grabby gesture.
“How much money would you give me to flip this table, right here, right now, in the middle of class?”
Scott gave him a wide-eyed look, which only made Stiles grin wider.
“Cause I swear, I’ll do it.”
“Don’t,” Scott said, eyes darting nervously to where Harris sat. “He’ll have you in detention for the rest of the year.”
“It’s almost over anyway,” Stiles said, still grinning. “And he can’t give me detention if I accidentally ‘fall’ now can he? Twenty bucks and I’ll make him forget all about this stupid time filler assignment, easy peasy.”
“Stiles—”
“I’ll take you up on that.”
Stiles turned around, blinking in surprise at Erica Reyes. She smirked, nodding toward Harris.
“But you have to do it so hard, he falls out of his chair.”
Stiles looked at her for a long moment, debating. At the desk beside her, Boyd shifted a little nervously, but didn’t say anything to talk his girlfriend down. Chewing on his lower lip, Stiles thought for one more moment, then grinned brightly, holding out his hand.
“Deal.”
“Money after,” Erica said, eyes glinting. “But he has to be out of his chair, Stilinski.”
Scott was still giving him a pleading look, but Stiles pretended like he didn’t see it as he turned back around. Harris was still fixated on his phone, feet propped up on his desk. Stiles studied the man, tilted his head, and then shoved himself up so fast, his chair went tipping and he caught the underside of the table, taking it with him as everything went spilling to the floor.
There was a shout, a yelp. Stiles watched in absolute glee as Harris jerked so hard, he kicked his coffee cup off his desk and his chair tumbled backward, taking the man and the cord of his laptop, wrapped around his foot, with him.
For a moment, the classroom was silent. Stiles glanced back at Erica, who looked like she was just barely containing a fit of laughter.
Then, “Stilinski!”
Stiles winced, shooting Erica one last look. Her face was bright red now. “Twenty bucks, Reyes.”
“Derek will cover me,” Erica said, jerking her head to the table across the room. Stiles looked over, startled, to see Hale looking at him with wide green eyes, face a little pale.
Stiles offered a weak smile, raising a hand in a small wave. And then the boy was looking sharply away.
Stiles didn’t even have a chance to feel insulted before Harris had grabbed the back of his collar and dragged him from the room.
-
Stiles did, after all, get Friday afternoon detention for the next month, despite his protests that the whole ‘table flipping accident’ was really an accident. He supposed it was worth it though; twenty bucks was a two or three milkshakes at his favorite diner if he didn’t get fries.
“I can’t believe you, dude,” Scott said, elbowing him in the side. “That was so stupid.”
“That was so genius,” Stiles said, elbowing him back. “Harris completely forgot about the assignment and I’m up twenty bucks.”
The boy just grilled his eyes. “From Derek?”
The grin slipped off of Stiles’s lips. In all of the excitement, he'd completely forgotten about Erica absolutely screwing him over. Catching his expression, Scott barked a laugh, patting him on the back and starting away.
“Best of luck with that, man.”
“Hey, wait! Scotty? Scott!”
The thing about Derek Hale is that Stiles wasn’t really intimidated by him, per-say. Sure, the guy was a year older, constantly gave him the cold shoulder, and was always surrounded by his ‘too cool for school’ jock buddies. But Stiles was also pretty sure Derek was a bit of a nerd. Even if it was just secretly so.
He’d probably been the best chemistry partner Stiles had ever had. Even if he’d pretended like Stiles didn’t exist the entire time.
He sought him out before the game, heart thudding against his chest in a way that Stiles didn’t really understand. It was hard enough separating Derek Hale from his buddies, but his sister also stuck to his side— and she was intimidating.
Cora was Stiles’s grade and, like him, a few classes ahead. She also scared the crap out of Stiles whenever those eyes lit up with anything close to mischief.
“Good afternoon, Stilinski,” she said as Stiles approached, arms folded across her chest. “Nice top.”
Stiles glanced down at himself and then rolled his eyes, glancing at Derek. For some reason, the boy looked a little constipated and his face was bright red. “Erica owes me twenty bucks.”
Cora raised an eyebrow, glancing over at her brother. Derek just stared.
Stiles sighed. “She said you’d cover her.”
“She— what?”
“Twenty bucks, dude,” Stiles said, sticking out his hand. “Pay up.”
Cora made a scoffing noise and clapped Derek on the shoulder before giving Stiles an amused look. “And that’s my cue to leave. Go easy on him, Stiles. Derek gets a little tongue-tied when he can see skin.”
Stiles blinked, unsure what to do with any part of that sentence. But Derek’s face was red all the way to his ears now and before Stiles could say a word, he was turning away too, starting toward the locker room.
Stiles blinked again, rooted to the spot for a moment. Then, shaking his head, he started after the boy.
“Hey, dude, wait!”
Derek did not, in fact, wait.
Stiles followed him into the locker room, stumbling over his own feet as he tried to catch up. Derek went straight for his locker and started to tug off his shirt, making Stiles yelp and avert his eyes.
Which was stupid, right? Yeah, that was stupid. It’s not like he’d never seen another dude change in the literal locker room before.
“I don’t have your money,” Derek said, sounding like he was grinding his teeth together. Stiles licked his lips nervously, turning to face the boy again.
He was still shirtless.
“Uh, right,” Stiles said, shaking his head. Silently, he willed Derek to pull on his jersey or maybe just stop stripping altogether. His mind was blank for the entire time that Derek finally pulled his basketball jersey over his head, raising an eyebrow afterward as if he didn’t know why Stiles was still within spitting distance of him.
“Well?”
Stiles opened his mouth, closed it, and then frowned. “Okay, dude, what the hell is your problem?”
Derek paused with the jersey half pulled down his torso. Stiles tried not to blush.
“You’ve literally only spoken to me like twice,” Stiles said. “And still hate me for some reason. Have I ever done something to offend you? Are you offended by all that is—” he gestured to himself up and down— “This?”
Hale looked taken aback. Stiles’s throat tightened.
“I didn’t mean it like that.”
“I don’t…” Derek shook his head and pulled his jersey all the way down. “You’re fine.”
“I’m fine?”
“Uh, yeah, I guess.”
Stiles stared at him. He couldn’t see much of the boy’s face in the darkness, but he was pretty sure he was still lying about something. Derek grabbed his bag, starting to brush past, but Stiles caught his arm before he could go anywhere.
Derek made a noise of surprise, spinning back around. And Stiles quickly let go, retreating a step back, and promptly got his feet caught in his own bag, a noise of surprise leaving his mouth before he started to topple over.
He definitely wasn’t going to be fine after this, some part of his brain supplied helpfully.
Only, Stiles didn’t brain himself. Suddenly, there was a hand around his forearm and seconds before Stiles hit the lockers, Derek hauled him back up, grunting slightly.
Except, just because Stiles excelled at making bad things even worse, he found himself lurching forward with the momentum, slamming right into his so-called “you’re fine, I guess” savior.
This time, it was Derek’s turn to go toppling. And the only help Stiles provided was him falling right after the boy.
In all the ways he could die, Stiles never thought it would be death by angry-jock-who-just-got-tackled. Underneath him, Derek’s eyes were wide, face pale, and Stiles stared back, pretty sure his heart had stopped beating in his chest.
For a moment, he was almost terrified to breathe. Then, slowly, he realized he wasn’t dead yet.
“Um,” Stiles said, face turning hot. “Sorry.”
He half-expected Derek to shove him off or maybe give him a good punch in the face first. But instead, the boy just stayed there, frozen, eyes wide and pupils dilated. Stiles felt his throat close, carefully starting to push himself up.
“Stiles,” Derek said croakily. Stile abruptly froze.
“Oh my god, dude, I’m so sorry. Did I break something? Please tell me I didn’t break anything.”
Derek was still staring at him. And Stiles didn’t mean to drop his gaze to the other boy’s lips, he really didn’t. It wasn’t like he’d never imagined what it would be like if Derek one day kissed him. Possibly after he realized Stiles actually existed, possibly after he realized how damn hot Stiles was.
Because he was, thank you very much.
“Stiles,” Derek said again. And Stiles realized he’d been staring for much too long.
Shit.
In a second, Stiles was pushing himself up. He half dragged Derek with him, swaying a little as his heart thudded against his chest. The silence in the locker room was almost too loud as Derek stared at him for a long moment, chest rising and falling a little too fast.
“So,” Stiles said, running a hand through his hair awkwardly. “About that twenty dollars—”
He was cut off by the action of Derek kissing him.
Derek Hale. Derek Hale was kissing him and Stiles was pretty sure he hadn’t just hit his head too hard when they both fell or something. For a moment, he was too surprised to do anything but make a startled noise at the back of his throat, and then Derek was crowding him against the lockers, one hand carding through his hair as Stiles came snapping back to himself like a rubber band stretched too far.
Derek Hale was kissing him. And dammit if Stiles didn’t kiss him back the moment Stiles exe. was working again.
If he found out later that he had just hit his head too hard or maybe Derek had actually killed him, Stiles supposed he’d be fine. He’d be fine because yeah, he’d probably thought about this a thousand times, but he’d never actually seen it happening.
He also kinda hadn’t ever done anything like this before, so he really hoped Derek wasn’t about to call him the worst kisser ever or something.
Stiles let Derek take the lead as the boy tightened his grip in Stiles’s hair. And yeah, he was so glad he’d decided to let it grow out Sophomore year. Because this? This was every one of his fantasies.
Suddenly, there was the sound of a buzzer from outside.
Stiles jerked so hard, he slammed his head against the lockers, groaning in pain as the kiss broke. He felt a little dazed, a lot shocked, and the moment he opened his eyes, Derek was looking at him with that ‘caught in headlights’ expression again.
Buzzer, some part of Stiles’s brain offered.
The game.
“Oh, shit,” Stiles said, snapping back to reality. If he was the reason that the star player of the basketball team was late to the game, Lydia was totally going to kick him off the cheer squad. Derek was starting to look a little more grounded too, thankfully, and even in the dim light, Stiles could tell his face was bright red.
“Um…”
“Yeah.”
“That was—”
“Mm-hm.”
Derek snapped his mouth shut, eyes flitting from Stiles’s face, to his lips, and then back up. And that was Stiles’s move, wasn’t it? “Was that bad?”
Stiles blinked. Once more, Stiles exe. logged off for a second and then he shook his head, staring. “No? No, definitely not. No.”
“I, uh, don’t hate you,” Derek said. A small, almost shocked laugh built up in Stiles’s throat.
“I could tell.”
Derek looked down at himself, his uniform, and then toward the door. When he looked back, his expression was almost hesitant, and Stiles was almost surprised he’d never seen a look like that before. “I have a game.”
“Yeah,” Stiles said, finally cracking a small smile. Because his heart had stopped thudding against his chest now and he just felt a little warm. A little tingly. Which, if this was all real, was actually quite pleasant. “Yeah, dude, I’m usually there too.”
Derek’s ears turned red. “Oh, yeah.”
Stiles looked at the boy, hesitated for a moment, and then leaned forward, pecking him on the cheek. Derek immediately went statue-still again and Stiles snorted despite himself, patting the boy on the shoulder as he slipped by. “That’s for good luck, Hale. I’ll see you out there?”
Derek was still wide-eyes and speechless when he turned around. Still grinning, Stiles offered him a wink and salute, before all but stumbling toward the door.
He could feel Derek staring after him. But the boy didn’t say another word.
Stiles had never seen himself the one to break Derek Hale.
-
Derek stayed after the brown-haired, amber-eyed boy in silence, his thoughts moving slowly. For a moment, he felt dazed. Then winded. Like he’d already played the game, won, and had maybe been declared MVP or something.
But then Stiles was gone, Derek was left in the silence, and he finally snapped out of his trance.
A trance, yeah. That’s what he could call it.
Because he had just kissed Stiles. He had just kissed Stiles Stilinski.
Derek blinked, then reached up, touching his lips. And fuck, Stiles had tasted like cinnamon and spices. And somehow, it had all been better than Derek might have ever always wondered.
He had just kissed Stiles.
“Oh,” Derek said, as the sound of the scoreboard buzzer went off outside the locker room again. Game— starting— right.
Oh.
Fucking Stiles Stilinski.

Oh gosh, so I've never actually written a Sterek High School fic, so I apologize if it's a bit rough around the edges. I couldn’t figure out to work the jumper part in, but I hope crop-tops were a okay substitute @wolfile! Thank you so much for the prompt <3
(if you enjoy my writing, consider sending a coffee? You can also request a prompt if you’d like!). https://ko-fi.com/rh27writer

---
"So," Theo begins, startling Stiles, who's sitting by himself on the table, looking at his half-empty champagne glass in contemplative silence. He sits on the empty seat beside Stiles, inwardly sneering at the name card that indicates he's occupying the seat assigned to Derek. His own is right across from Stiles, which is not exactly an unfavorable location considering he has a perfect view of the beautiful man, but really, if the soul strings were to dictate, he and Derek would have to trade places. Stiles is his soulmate, after all. Not Derek's.
Pacifying his bitter thoughts, he puts his own glass on the table, purposely knocking over Derek's name card – a petty act that Stiles doesn't miss but chooses to leave no remark on – and pulls a big smile from his lips as he meets Stiles's eyes. He looks even more attractive up close, Theo revels in fascination. Even if the look that Stiles is giving him is not exactly the welcoming sort.
"So, what?" Stiles snaps at him when instead of finishing his statement, Theo studies his face. He can't help it. Stiles is enchanting. Theo supposes it's the soulbond that's doing it – making Stiles the center of Theo's attention. And he can tell that despite the bite in his tone, Stiles is just as affected by him. The beautiful flush rising from his clavicles – a rather fetching pair of it too that Theo imagines licking and biting and leaving his mark on – up to his cheeks is a dead giveaway. Stiles is determined to not allow his gaze to linger, too, shifting on his chair and glancing around, probably in search of an excuse to leave. Theo won't make it easy. He rather enjoys getting Stiles all bothered.
He smiles, the trademark one that makes everyone on the receiving end swoon. "So," picking up on his opener, he asks straightforwardly. "How long are you going to pretend that you don't see it?" His eyes slide pointedly at Stiles's clenched hand on the table.
Stiles jerks his hand away, hiding it from Theo's view. As if it changes anything. Theo chuckles because they both know that no matter where he shoves his hand, the other end of Theo's red string will always be tied around his finger - fixed, secured, undetachable. Unmistakable. Inescapable.
Stiles glares at him, and the fire in his eyes only makes him more mesmerizing. Honestly, his reactions only spur Theo further into the chase. It's like watching his favorite wildlife documentary on Animal Planet from the viewpoint of the wolf hunting its mate. The mate has no aversion to being mounted by the alpha wolf; it is anticipating it. But that doesn't mean they can't engage in a long bout of laborious foreplay first – the hunt. Stiles's viciousness is only a challenge for his worth.
"It's an outdated belief," Stiles mutters harshly, eyes darting to check that no one's within hearing distance, or is paying enough attention to them to figure anything amiss. "It doesn't mean anything."
"Tell that to Laura and her soulmate," Theo replies, grinning at the contempt on Stiles's face. "Whose, in case you missed it, prenuptial dinner we're currently attending."
Stiles barely contains the sound of frustration from escaping his lips when he sags onto his seat in an exasperated heap, crossing his arms tightly over his chest. He lifts his head and trains his gaze in a particular direction in front, where Theo's family are, engaging in pleasantries with the future in-laws.
Theo can't stop the deep frown pulling at his expression when his eyes follow Stiles's line of sight and land on his adoptive brother, Derek. He and Theo didn't have the best relationship growing up, and the wedge between them has only grown exponentially wide since then. He loathes Derek for having everything that Theo didn't. For being the first choice, the sure choice, and never worrying about being tossed to the side. Because he had the legitimate claim to everything. Derek's the biological son of the parents that Theo respects more than any other; the biological brother of the sisters that Theo loves so dearly; and the heir of the wealth and properties of the Hales even before he was born. Theo was an intruder into their home, a charity case. Even though he's worked hard on his share of the business, or his space in their home, those weren't always meant for him. But this is – Stiles is. He is the one person that is for Theo alone. Derek can't have him, too.
Without looking away from Derek, Stiles breaks the charged silence that fell between them. "Well, I'm not going to ruin a perfect relationship just because you decided to show up in my life two years too late to unify the string I haven't cared about since I was nine." Stiles turns to Theo, who meets him, glare upon glare. "So whatever it is you're expecting to happen, stop. I love Derek, soulmate or not."
Theo fumes at Stiles's words, rage and jealousy pooling in his gut, and he wants to tear at something. Whenever Derek's involved, it's not difficult to stir Theo's anger and amp it 10 to 100 in a matter of seconds. But his anger is his drive. It's what pushes him forward to the goal. So, he arranges his expression to cold and unperturbed, often translated as insufferable, even cruel. It's not far from the truth.
"Famous last words," he smirks. Even he knows that the mockery in his voice is unmissable.
Stiles is taken aback, but he covers it immediately with a scathing look. He pushes bodily at his chair to stand. His face pinches into a scowl of genuine confusion to mix with his indignation. "I don't understand why you would be so determined to force this soulbond on us. Derek told me you don't even believe in soulmates. You're just doing this to scorn your brother."
"Maybe I am," Theo agrees easily, cocking his head sideways and pinning Stiles with a firm look. "Maybe I just want what's mine."
Stiles finally decides that he's had it with their conversation. Gnashing his teeth and flashing his eyes - again, mesmerizing - he retorts with all the menace he can muster without being too obvious. "I'm not yours." Giving no chance for a comeback, he turns his back and leaves Theo alone on the table.
Theo watches as Derek's face lights up when he receives Stiles in his arm, kissing him lightly on the lips and squeezing his waist affectionately before introducing him to the guests.
Theo picks up his abandoned glass and downs its content in one go. He licks his lips at the aftertaste and wishes it were something stronger – something that will complement the fury in his guts. Because he is furious, and it's stronger than it has ever been. And he will not be deterred by any boundaries.
His eyes fix on Stiles, on the glowing red string that extended and twisted upon their distance but has remained unbroken. Theo's driven and just a little unhinged. I'm not yours. He scoffs, catching Stiles's nervous glances, likely feeling the heat of Theo's emotions through their bond. Likely realizing that them? They're non-negotiable. Theo will make sure of that.

Hi! I heard you have some angsty ideas for Allison/Derek/Stiles universe. I love good angsty feelings with happy ending of course. So if you want to share some ideas, headcanons, stories, or just anything with them I would be happy to read them. You’re incredible and amazing writer and this universe is so good!!! Have a good day
maybe i’m amazed verse
ah crap chapel is gonna kill me if i start with the angst lmao. lots of my angst is stiles-centric because i was Going Through It the other day and once again as someone who has lost a parent i have a lot of feelings about milestones when it comes to him anyway i'm gonna try to balance the angst out with some happier things at the end
it's not like the idea of derek and allison getting married is new to him. it's been a conversation that has grown and evolved over literal years, but the end result has never changed. they've both told him that they're fine not getting married if it bothers him at all, and it doesn't. it really doesn't, because it's just supposed to be for legal reasons, because allison's family is fucking psycho and because they want to have kids one day and because there are financial benefits--he gets it. it doesn't bother him.
until he's three weeks into the night-shift he got switched to because of staffing issues and 90% of his clothes are dirty and he's too tired to wash them so he pulls one out of derek's drawer and he finds a fucking ring box.
he's been tired and stressed lately, and staying awake watching movies alone while allison and derek sleep in their bed has been getting to him but he's still got at least two months where he's on nights so it's not getting any better, and his dad--who has at least always been kind to derek and allison despite not understanding their relationship at all--had been dropping questions about if stiles was sure this is what he wanted in the wake of scott and lydia's engagement. and stiles--he's not so sure, staring at the ring box he didn't know about, thinking about derek and allison getting married and having adorable dark haired babies. right there, in that moment, it's a little too easy to imagine them without him
he doesn't want to tell allison that derek has a ring, so after a few weeks he ends up tells them he just needs some time to think about things and clamps down on all the things that roll around in his head when he's anxious and down, ignores the way allison's eyes get shiny when she pushes him for answers and the blank, impassive look on derek's face that's always spoke volumes when he pulls her out of stiles' way and tells her to let him go.
allison visits his dad's place a few times and stiles pretends to be sleeping or gone for the most part; derek doesn't come at all, which is why stiles just stares at him in surprise when the throws open the door expecting scott nearly a month later. he misses him desperately, and the way derek's shoulders are hunched slightly forward makes him seem so small that stiles ends up blurting out all his anxiety and every self-loathing thought he's had for the last two months.
he doesn't swear he's fine with it after that, after they sit down and really talk about it again. he still understands the benefits and knows they should go through with it, but he's open about it on the days it bothers him and they have a lot of conversations about how to navigate his insecurity and the feeling of loss it brings up, although he regrets that on the days that allison suggests having a ceremony for the three of them because--no. he's not doing that.
(on their wedding day they say vows to him, quiet and right into his ear, after they say their vows to each other. he will deny to his dying day that he teared up)
jesus that got long i should have just written it lmao. uh here are some random not angsty ones!
laura likes to tease derek by telling him that he clearly misread the definition because bisexual doesn't mean having both at the same time.
stiles is mostly joking about being irritated that allison likes to steal his shirts until he opens his drawer one day to find she took the last one. after that he starts hiding one piece of her clothing just to get back at her every time she takes something of his.
it will never stop being funny to allison that out of the two of them, stiles is the designated spider catcher. derek eyes them warily and refuses to leave the room until they're taken care of so he can make sure they don't escape.
stiles' favorite thing is coming home to derek and allison singing 80s rock songs loudly in the kitchen.
allison and stiles have tattoos that they got just after the wedding that say "i am my beloved's" / "my beloved is mine".

                                                    -------------------
I sighed into my locker and let my head drop against the cool metal. I forgot to do my calculus homework. Again.
I couldn't blame myself too much. I was still shaken up by the events of last week, although I’d done my best to forget about it. No one had seen any signs of the alpha since the video store. Jackson was acting really strange, though. Most of the time I saw him he looked sick and jumpy. Something was just off. He did get closer to the alpha than me, so maybe he was just processing in his own way.
Lydia had been weird right after, but she seemed to push whatever remaining fear she had into the back of her mind. The strangest part, though, was that both of them had told people the animal that attacked was a mountain lion.
“Oh, God.” I heard Allison grumble from beside me.
I glanced over to see a bunch of balloons floating out of her locker. She tried her best to push them back in, and looked around nervously. She pulled out a card and read it over quickly before turning to glare at me.
“Really?”
I just grinned back. Lydia somehow knew it was her birthday today, so we filled her locker with all her favorites. Plus the balloons to embarrass her just a little. A moment later, Scott walked up.
He inspected the scene and put the pieces together quickly. “Is it your birthday?”
“No. No. Nope. I mean...yes.” She shoved the remaining loose balloons back inside the metal cage and frowned. “Please don't tell anybody. I don't even know how they found out.”
I avoided her glare and shut my locker before crossing my arms and leaning against it.
“Why didn't you tell me?” Scott sounded a little hurt.
“Because...” She hesitated, looking between us. “I’m seventeen.”
Oh. That was news to me. Scott blinked, shocked.
“That’s exactly the reaction I’m trying to avoid.” She muttered, pulling a textbook out before slamming her locker with a slam.
“Hey, I totally get it. You had to repeat a year because of all the moving around. Right?” That would've been my guess, too. It was pretty obvious if you knew her at all.
But she looked surprised by his answer. So surprised that she rushed forward and gave him a kiss. I looked away quickly, clearing my throat awkwardly.
“What was that for?” Scott asked, and I figured it was safe to look again.
“For being the first person ever, literally, to make the right assumption.” She grinned at him, and he returned the look with a awe-struck expression of his own.
They were really good together. A little too easily distracted, maybe, but it was clear that they were in love. I just wondered if they knew it yet.
“I’ll catch you guys later.” She walked away with one final wave.
I moved to head toward class, but Scott caught my arm gently. I turned and looked at him expectantly.
“You okay?” His big brown eyes looked at me with concern and I sighed. He always tried to take care of everybody. He’d checked on me a million times since the video store attack, and I’d told him I was fine, but he was relentless.
“Yes, Scott.” I confirmed with a roll of my eyes. “I was okay yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that, too. You don't need to keep worrying about me.”
He didn't look convinced. “Just...if you need anything. I’m here. We both are. Me and Stiles, I mean. You can talk to us.”
I felt my face grow hot at the mention of his name. Things had been normal after our weird almost kiss. Utterly and completely normal. We hadn't talked about it since. We hadn't talked much at all, actually. Just typical school stuff. Not that I minded.
“Thanks.” I gave him a genuine smile and turned to leave.
I really needed to get to class. I was already falling behind, since my mind had been preoccupied lately. By the time I was done talking to Scott, the hallways were empty. I picked up the pace, hoping I could still make it before the late bell. I glanced down, and almost immediately slammed into someone’s back.
I raised my head quickly, ready to apologize, but stopped when I saw who it was. I let out a huff, my shoulders tensing. Derek Hale was standing in front of me, looking threatening as ever. I hadn't seen him in nearly two weeks, and I preferred it that way. He gave me a serious case of the heebie-jeebies.
“Why are you always here?” I found myself asking without thinking about the consequences. He was way too old to be in a high school. I was honestly surprised no one had ever called him out for hanging around here without actually being a student.
He took a step forward, and I took one back. His crystal blue eyes trailed over me from head to toe, and I shifted uncomfortably. “You don't need to be afraid.”
“Well, excuse me.” I scoffed. “The last time I saw you here, you tried kidnapping me.”
His head cocked to the side and his eyebrows rose in agreement. “True. But I’m not here for you.”
“Then why are you here?” I swallowed nervously. Trouble seemed to follow him wherever he went. Just his presence put me on edge.
He continued walking toward me, and I kept moving back until I ran into the lockers harshly. I gasped, surprised at the sudden contact, my breathing picking up with my rising anxiety.
He didn’t stop until he was only half a foot away. I watched him expectantly, waiting for him to grab me or rip my throat out or something. I hadn’t even been able to get away from him when he was almost dead, so I was very aware that my chances or survival if he wanted to hurt me were slim to none.
“If you ever want to learn some control, you know where to find me.” His eyes trailed over my face as he spoke. And then, he was gone.
I watched him walk away, more confused than ever. Control? Over what? I didn’t have much time to think about it, because Jackson came stumbling out of the boys locker room just in front of me. He looked sickly, his normally tanned skin white as paper, and he was sweating profusely.
He looked around nervously, itching at the back of his neck, before his eyes met mine.
“You okay?” I asked tentatively, not sure what was even wrong with him. Maybe he had the flu or something?
“Fine.” He muttered, his gaze flickering around the hallway almost obsessively.
He turned and stalked away from me with a shake of his head. That was odd. He’d been acting so weird ever since the video store. I watched his retreating back, then turned toward the direction Derek had gone. At once I realized that they had both come out of the locker room. So Derek was here...for Jackson?
My mind was swimming with possibilities as I finally made my way to class.
                                                   ————————
I walked through the school’s parking lot, trying to find Allison. I waited nearly ten minutes by our lockers but she never showed. I hadn’t seen her at lunch, either, come to think of it.
“Hey,” I jumped at the sudden presence beside me, but relaxed at the sight of familiar brown eyes. “I need you to do your witchy thing.”
I stopped and looked at Stiles with raised eyebrows. “My what?”
“Your thing.” He flailed his arms wildly, seemingly in a hurry.
“I don’t have a thing.” I said slowly, not sure what he was getting at.
“You have a thing.” He raised his eyebrows and huffed when I just stared at him. “Okay. Look. I haven’t been able to find Scott all day and his phone is going straight to voicemail. I just need you to tell me if he’s in trouble.”
I finally realized that he was talking about my visions and rolled my eyes before continuing on my way. “That is so not how it works.”
He let out a little ha and clapped his hands together with a jump. “So you admit you have a thing!”
“Can’t help you, Stiles.” I called over my shoulder and shook my head. I had no idea how my visions worked, but I knew I couldn’t just turn them on and off whenever I wanted.
He let out an impatient groan and jogged up to my side again. “I’m worried, Y/N. Very worried.”
There was still no sign of Allison anywhere. I stopped again and turned all the way around, hoping to catch a glimpse of her car. It didn’t look like it was even in the parking lot.
“He’s probably with Allison.” I decided. “She’s been gone all day too.”
He hesitated for a moment, as if weighing various options in his head. Then he reached out and wrapped a hand around my wrist gently. Before I could even fully process that he was touching me, I was being dragged through the parking lot. I nearly tripped over my own feet as I tried to keep up with his quick pace. I swear, he never slows down.
“What are you doing?” I breathed, dodging a few people as he weaved us between parked cars.
“You're helping me find him.” He announced, not even bothering to phrase it like a question.
We arrived at his Jeep a moment later and he pulled open the passenger door before looking at me expectantly. I stood firmly in place.
“I have homework.” It wasn't even a lie. I was behind in almost every class due to the whole almost being attacked by a murderous werewolf thing.
“I’ll do it for you.” He offered quickly, gesturing for me to get into the car.
I mean, that didn't sound half bad...
“Fine.” With a resigned huff I slid inside. Stiles shut the door quickly and jogged around the front to get into the driver’s seat.
Within minutes the school was long behind us. I didn't know where he was going, but I figured he had some kind of plan. He always did. We hadn't spoken since he turned the car on, and I was beginning to feel a little awkward. Should we talk about it? We should talk about it. Right?
I opened my mouth to do just that, but instead a totally different stream of words came out. “Do you think it has anything to do with Derek?”
Stiles’ head turned in my direction so fast I was afraid he may have given himself whiplash. “Derek?”
“Uh.” Yeah, that was so not the right thing to say. I wasn't even planning on telling him about our weird interaction this morning. Why brain? Why?
“Why would Scott be with him?” He pressed, still looking at me.
“Can you focus on the road?” My voice rose with worry and his eyes twitched at me before he complied with pursed lips. “I may have seen him this morning, and the last time he was at the school he was looking for Scott, so—”
He slammed on the breaks so suddenly that I launched forward, my seatbelt barely saving me from faceplanting into the dash.
“Y/N!” He snapped incredulously. “You have to tell me these things!”
“I just did.” I looked at him with wide eyes as I readjusted myself in my seat. My gaze moved behind us to make sure no one was coming. This was not the first time he’d abruptly stopped in the middle of the road, and it really wasn't helping with my theory that every time I was in this car my life was somehow in danger.
He scoffed and made a U turn, taking us back in the direction we’d just come from. “Did he say anything to you? What was he doing?”
“I don't know.” I decided to gloss over the fact that he had indeed said something very weird to me. “I think he was talking to Jackson.”
“Jackson? Why would he be talking to Jackson?” He, thankfully, kept his eyes on the road, but I saw them twitch again. I noticed he did that a lot. I wasn't sure if it was an anxious tick, or it meant he was thinking, or what. It was just a Stiles thing. One of his mannerisms that made him all the more endearing.
I shrugged. “Like anyone knows what goes through that guys head. Maybe he threatened him or something. Jackson came out of the locker room looking pretty shaken up.”
“No. No, that doesn’t make any sense.” He mumbled, more to himself than me.
A few minutes later, we were sitting outside mine and Scott’s houses. We’d already driven past Allison’s, all of them proving empty. Her car was nowhere to be seen. Stiles started the Jeep again, and we were on our way to Beacon Hills Preserve. He was persistent about checking the Hale house, despite my efforts to convince him how utterly stupid that idea was.
Nothing good had ever happened there. I had no desire to go back, but I’d found out over the last few weeks that he could be even more stubborn than me—something I didn’t think was possible—so I didn’t push too hard. I knew it was a losing fight.
He slowed down at the entrance of the preserve when we stumbled upon Allison’s car parked next to a trailhead. I found myself chewing on my bottom lip, growing nervous. Stiles looked at me with raised eyebrows, and I frowned.
“That doesn’t mean anything. Maybe they went on a hike.”
He scoffed and continued driving as far as the Jeep would go. When Derek’s withered house came into view, we stopped.
“Do you always spy on your friends?” I tried to get comfortable in my seat, assuming we’d be here for awhile.
He shrugged from beside me. “Only with probable cause.”
Not more than thirty seconds later, we saw a woman who I recognized as Kate Argent approaching with two men flanked at her sides.
Stiles completely spazzed out and ducked down in his seat. “Who the hell are they?”
Each of the men were carrying large guns, and Kate had one strapped across her chest. They easily let themselves right in. I mean, there wasn’t much stopping them. There were more holes than not in that thing. You could barely even call it a house anymore.
“I know one of them is Allison’s aunt.” I breathed, not feeling any better now that they were out of sight.
“That’s bad. Very very bad.” His eyes practically bulged out of his head and his chest was rising and falling erratically as he started panicking. He moved to get out of the car and I jerked forward to grab his arm.
“What the hell are you doing? Do you have a freaking death wish?” For some reason, I was whispering. It just felt like we were going to be caught any second.
Then, the unmistakable sounds of struggling and gunshots echoed through the woods.
“Those are hunters, Y/N! Scott could be in there.” Stiles started pulling against me again, but I only tightened my grip.
“And we’re human. What are either of us going to do?”
He stopped struggling for a moment and glanced toward the back of the car. “I have a bat.”
More groans and shouts came from the house. Both of our heads whipped in that direction at the sound. I leaned forward in my seat, trying to get a better view, but it was too dark inside to see anything. Plus, the sun was going down, which didn’t help.
Suddenly, Derek came barreling out the front door at top speed. He was shirtless, for some reason, and looked really shaken up. He didn’t even glance in our direction as he sprinted through the trees. Stiles and I watched him pass by in stunned silence.
A few seconds later, Kate and the two men exited as well. Stiles ducked down beside me again, but I was too curious to move. What were they even doing? It didn’t look like any of them were hurt despite the gunshots and yelling.
My heart dropped into my stomach as they started walking our way.
“We need to go.” I breathed, tapping him on the arm quickly.
“It’s fine, you can’t see anything down here.” He shook his head, seemingly confident in the anatomy of his Jeep.
I looked at him with narrowed eyes. “They can still see the car, Stiles!”
His face dropped in realization and he sprang back upright. After fumbling with the keys for a few seconds, we were fleeing the scene quickly. I watched them the whole way and, thankfully, it didn’t look like they’d spotted us.
We’d barely gotten out of the preserve when Stiles’ phone chimed in his pocket. He rushed to pull it free, swerving into the wrong lane due to his frenzied state. I braced my hands against the dashboard and gave him an incredulous look as he checked the notification.
“God, Scott. Finally.” He breathed a sigh of relief, but his face quickly changed as he read the message.
“What is it?” My stomach tightened uncomfortably with anxiety. That look couldn’t be good.
“Allison’s dad shot an animal at the school.” He shoved the phone back into his pocket.
“Okay?” I was so beyond confused. Why was this a big deal? “What animal?”
He glanced my way briefly, his hands tightening on the steering wheel. “A mountain lion.”

Health Tonics and Love Gardens
Chapter 1 - The Stiles In The Garden
Stiles has been working on this garden for months. It is colorful now, with tiny bushes he'd groomed into shape and the better airflow they get without the other plants strangling the light and air from the garden. He's been restoring this garden to what it might have once been, and tried to keep remembering what his mom told him about the garden back home.
"These flowers may look nice, but they can also cause healing or harm." He thought in his mother's voice.
This specific phrase stuck with him, and usually when he's daydreaming and not paying attention to what he's saying, he'll speak the words and try to recall the exact details of the garden as it was when his mom was caring for it.
"Why?" he again remembers asking, and he says the same thing aloud every time this happens.
The details of the answer vary, probably because his child mind wasn't really any better at staying on target for even half the time his adult brain can do now. That means that his mom's voice answers the questing with different words, and the theme generally was: "Sometimes a little of a plant can help a person heal from an injury. Give them too much, and they will suffer, may come to harm, and could die."
It's the stinging nettle that his mother is indicating to him today. He looks at the plant in the present and gives it side-eye.
"A good cook can turn this nettle into a healthful tea."
Little Stiles can feel himself interrupt her. "I've made tea, mom. It's easy!" He used to be so excited about stuff. He was what... maybe eight years old when this happened?
He favors his mother's memory by having her always say something that humors the younger him.
"Yes! You can make very good tea. And thank you for doing it! But some teas we can make require very good care. A good cook like me knows how to prepare the stems, or the flowers, or pieces of the root all cut up into tiny pieces of any of these plants." She makes tickling fingers at him and he smiles at the recollection.
"What if the cook uses the wrong pieces?"
"Then instead of healing, maybe nothing will happen. But with some plants, you can make someone worse. They can be hurt forever, and might even die."
Little Stiles did not want to make that kind of tea, and he considered not ever being near tea again.
"Promise me, Stiles, that you will not try to make tea from anything that comes from this garden."
That was an easy promise to keep. The Stiles in his 20s, having these memories, appreciates how well his mother understood how he thought. Under her brief guidance, Stiles cultivated a voracious curiosity and analytical mind. He got over the worries about tea, eventually, but it wasn't until after this gardening thing started that he want and tried to learn more about exactly what were these plants in the plot and what kinds of tea could be made with them.
As he found out later, after many hours and days of looking through cookbooks and materials online, he started to feel like this was a medicinal garden instead of an herb garden for actual cooking.
"And never make tea with anything outside the garden without talking to me first, okay?"
Little Stiles nods again. At that age he loved strawberries, and he thought he might not worry so much about tea if he had some of the best tea with his mom right now. "I want to make the strawberry tea!"
"Oh! That sounds good."
Little Stiles helped Claudia put the tools away and gather the strawberries and lemon and sugar from their places in the kitchen. They talked about his day at school, and the memory always fades from there.
It is well more than ten years since that day and it's one of his favorite memories of his mother. Many memories stick because they sucked, or because he thinks about them so much he can't tell if they're real or if he made them up.
He does think it's odd that every week, at least once a week, Stiles is at this old burned house in the Beacon Hills Preserve, working on this garden, talking to himself to review what he's learned about these different plants, and making threats at the plants who he still can't identify or which are giving him troubles that day. He's still just as wary of the nettle, but they've got a grudging agreement not to bother each other. For the rest? He'll unlock their secrets soon enough.
It's fair to say that he lets his guard down at this point. Nobody's ever been around here. He expected there would be graffiti on the house or whatever, but no, it's just been the house and this garden, and Stiles taking care of the latter.
He clips a sprig of lavender and adds it to his bag with the rosemary, adds some heather blossoms, and mutters "Calluna" as he snaps them. It's their genus, and they're in the same family as rhododendrons. There are two of those in the yard, not close to the house.
His thought withers as he turns to the house and takes it in with a slow breath. It always seems like the house is watching him, but not seeing him. It's never felt threatening, just... omnipresent, he thinks.
This house was full of the potential of these many lives. The family suffered, and in his investigation into public records and police records ("Heya, daddio... Can I ask you a question?" being only the most direct route to the files, and not the only one he took), he had learned that the family's absence left some big holes in the town at the time.
Curiously, it was hard to find photos of any of the family members. Even social media didn't have much. The kids weren't in school yearbooks he could get hold of, and he's gone through everything he could find in the school archive, even the old student newsletters.
He had found a photo of Talia Hale. She was the mother and as far as he could tell, the kind of person everyone in town seemed to know and most respected. He had no idea that Talia's spouse looked like, having seen only the name "Blake Hale" and having no idea who that was.
The dusty family obituary Stiles found in the paper printed after the fire listed several dead. But the count doesn't match what the police logged, and that doesn't match the fire inspector's. The insurance company itself gave a third number in a quote taken by a reporter.
The situation didn't make sense to him, and it bothered him that nobody seemed to know what really happened here. How many Hales were impacted by the fire? Did any escape? The body counts ranged from fewer than ten to the low 20s. Nobody knew if there was a party that night because despite all the fresh vehicle tracks at the scene, there were very few vehicles in the driveway. So where did those other visitors go? The firefighters' work destroyed the scene and they couldn't find any tire tracks that might lead them in a useful direction.
And weirdest of all: He's still not found anything that even hints that his mother and the Hales were affiliated. So this garden and the exact matching one at home, which Stiles and his dad have somewhat neglected after many years of close attention, Stiles still doesn't know why he cares so much about this plot at the Hale house.
He'd explored the ruins many times in his months of gardening. The house sits still and aging, creaking wearily in the winds as it always does. The only trespassers seem to be him and the squirrels.
He tugs a threatening vine away from the garden and trims it back. It's probably a volunteer left by some bird.
On his first day here he didn't go in the house, but walked slowly around it, walking his blue bike as he walked the perimeter. It was coming around the back of the house when he caught the scent of a familiar combination of herbs and he discovered his garden out here in the woods.
It is exactly the same layout as at the Stilinski house, but these plants were overgrown and struggling, and the vines were getting close. As he got on his knees and started his first concerted effort at gardening the plot, he started trying to find answers to these two questions: "Why does this garden layout look identical to ours at home?" and, given that the garden does exist in both places, "How did the Hales know his mother?"
Derek doesn't know how to respond. He had never been an alpha, and would never be, so he'd mostly ignored those lessons when his mom and Laura talked about them. His alpha and sister in one being swore to him years ago that no matter how much they'd already lost, they'll always be near each other.
"Are you alright? Did you hear me?" she glances at him and pokes him. She feels the sensation of being mentally stunned, then gives him an annoyed look. "Why is this weird for you?"
He blinked at her. "You don't think it's weird that for years we've not even talked once about Beacon Hills and now you say that you've spent weeks fighting an unidentified and suspicious pull to return home for a few weeks?"
"No, I said a few months. Three or four, maybe. Who cares? It's still a calling."
Derek looked at her and asked the obvious. "Couldn't this be hunters?"
She shook her head. This wasn't aggressive magic, and she wasn't sure how she knew that. It was more than intuition, though... it was certainty. Werewolves are often sensitive to many kinds of magical activities that may happen around them or to them, and her enhanced abilities told her that this just wasn't like any of that. She considered an odd possibility.
"Maybe it's my wolf?"
Derek rolls his eyes. "We are werewolves, Laura. It's a gift of a greater life, not a spiritual possession."
"Hey, I know that there's no separate little spooky spirit inside any of us beyond what most people seem to think they have. But this is like..." She searches the room until her eyes land in the opposite corner. She points at the TV and clarifies, "It's like I'm getting a new channel, and it's focused on the wolfish instincts, not the human side. Can't you feel it, too?"
He shakes his head. There has been zero sensation of compulsion in Derek to return to Beacon Hills. He would be happy to never return. It was once a beautiful place, but that's lost with everything else and he doesn't want to find any of it again.
"Can you check the pack bond and tell me what you see?"
He glares at her, already tired of this conversation. The alpha sees different things in pack bonds than each member sees. Laura likes to learn what Derek sees, and tells herself that it'll come in handy when she's got a bigger pack. They haven't even tried to connect with any werewolves despite there being many free-roaming supernatural family hanging around. The Hales are a duo that nobody can mess with.
She's persistent, so he focuses and listens with his inner senses and finds the same pack bond with her that he's seen for years. It's identical to how it was before. Nothing new, nothing seeming magical beyond the usual. It's hard to believe her about this when he's got no evidence it's happening.
"Damn. I hate this. I wish I had an emissary to ask."
Derek doesn't know what to think about emissaries, and leans toward not-in-favor since theirs failed to protect them from the hunter assault that lead to his family's near-annihilation. This emissary was newer, replacing their former emissary who had died of a normal, terrible cause like brain cancer. Derek met the new guy once and hated how he smelled of animals and cleaning supplies. The man's day job was as head veterinarian at the Beacon Hills Animal Clinic.
Last time they talked about him, Laura recalled that he was mostly a quiet man, didn't like giving full answers, and Talia mostly found him annoying, though useful at times.
Derek stewed on the fresh thoughts of the vet being partly responsible for what happened. Now he's feeling some kind of pull to return, to demand answers, at the very least.
Magic, as far as Derek was concerned, has been far more bother than it's worth.
"I never liked Deaton, but he's all I know." Laura suggested.
"Oh, then all of this was your fault," Derek said in an attempt to lighten the mood. It took a second to realize that he just accused the emissary of letting the family come to harm because he and Laura didn't get along.
"No emissary and no wolf was responsible for what happened, Derek." That left only the implication of the hunter woman he'd let get too close.
With regard to that person, Derek only ever harbors stabbingly angry thoughts about what should happen to her. She'd lied, she'd taken advantage of his life inexperience, and in the end of it all, she failed to murder him with everyone else, and he simmered deep inside from a wound that hadn't healed. His eyes flash.
Laura doesn't look away. He's upset, and he's not great with expressing himself on the best of day. She doesn't flash her eyes back at him. She's not angry, she's sad that he keeps blaming himself.
Derek reads this on her face and understands. "Fuck!" he mumbles a disappointed apology. "It wasn't your fault." He punctuates the air more softly with a mumbled repeat of the exclamation.
"Derek." She has come to a conclusion and in that tone she's warning him to prepare himself for something he is going to dislike. "I think we need to go back. We'll be careful," she says as he gives her an irritated and skeptical. "We'll stay in another town, sneak in as wolves and investigate the Preserve and the house. Maybe check out Beacon Hills and," she said, conspiratorially, "get some donuts before we leave."
"Leave?"
"We don't have to stay. I just need answers."
He considers this. It's not a demand or a request, it's just what she's going to do and she knows he's coming with her. But the confectionary he'd not thought about in years comes back to him. "I forgot about the donuts! And because of you," he glares at her, "now I have to have one."
"Perfect!" she says. He makes a good show at faking indignation, but he's heading into his room and looking around. They weren't likely to come back, so he shoots a message to his boss about a family emergency and he starts packing.
She's looking from the main room at his back as he starts sorting things out. He's always the scaredywolf, and she starts to pull snacks together that they'll want for the long drive.
Chapter 2 - These Wolves Are Here To Play
"Iiiiiiiiiiiiiii've been working on the raaaaaaaaaaailroad!" the man shouts. "All the live-long daaaaaaaaayGAACK!" Choking sputters and spitting follows the interruption. The approaching wolves still and listen.
"What the crap?! I'm working on your stupid habitat here!" A triple spitting sound. "Leave me alone you big dumb m-moth!"
The wolves glance at each other and share a look that says, "This guy's got worse problems than his big, stupid voice."
Laura steps ahead, leading them closer, keeping the shrubs and other undergrowth between them and the person in the distance. This guy doesn't scream "Threat!" to anyone but himself, but even well-meaning people can lead to tragedy. It would be best, of course, if the guy happened to take off before they got near him.
But if he did, she warns herself, that could mean he knows they're coming. That would make him either a super or a magic user. If he stays for too long, they'll need to scare him out of there so they can take a look around.
Derek made a subvocal growl. He's always preferred the hostile approach to any conflict and she nudges him with a low-pitched growl of denial.
Derek huffs. He actually huffs at her.
What a whiny puppy.
"Rodzina," Stiles says to the wolf the second he realizes he's not alone.
And then he slaps his hand over his mouth, uncertain why he's speaking Polish. The wolf regards him, unflinching. "It's Polish for family." This creature is huge! Larger than any dog he's ever met, and it's broad and got a defined mane around its neck. It's a really beautiful and terrifying wolf. Oh, oh god. It's a freaking wolf.
The wolf glances at his chest and tilts its head at him. She seemed to know that word, somehow. How could that even happen? Well, he's happy she hasn't been all growly and dipping her head down and being mean.
"I'm sorry, but there's no food here, and I can't take you home and get you any." With real sorrow, since having a wolf pet would be totally awesome, but a really bad idea, he adds, "You're beautiful, but I can't can't have a pet."
The wolf chuffs at him.
What? A chuff! That's practically falling over with laughter in wolf terms, as far as Stiles is concerned.
"Hey! Don't chuff at me!" He's wiggling a finger at her. It's 10% aggression and 90% cowardice. He focuses on forgetting everything except that 10%. He nervously walks through his thoughts aloud because he can't help his mouth moving of its own accord at this moment.
"Okay, so fine, let's see... I'm gardening here, that's legitimately all I'm doing. No looking for secret treasure at the house or anything. You're coming here passing through or whatever, even though there haven't been wolves in this part of California in decades. I know you understand me, and you're pretending not to. But why don't you talk back?"
He is looking directly into her eyes before consciously realizing he's taking her measure. This is a specific thing he definitely remembers promising himself he'd never do if he were being challenged by a large predator in the wilderness. And yet, he's challenging this alpha wolf—
"You're an alpha wolf? How can there be alpha wolves when the whole scientific hypothesis was proven to be wrong?" He wants to ramble the name of the research article on the subject, and about the way the article was written, but manages to catch hold of his thought trains and redirect. "That's not important right now. It's crazy enough that I somehow know you can understand me clearly."
She's a smart wolf. Human-equivalent intelligence, for sure. She tries not to tilt her head in an approximation of doggy confusion, but it's a projection. Odd how that he's here gardening and along comes this alph—
"WEREWOLF?! You're a werewolf?!"
Stiles describes this later to his father as, "when all hell breaks loose."
The alpha wolf lifts her lips and growls at Stiles, who is immediately cowed. She's joined half a second later by another large wolf, slightly smaller than her as he is a beta, but he's also got very long and sharp and they're massive and this is a very bad place for him to be right now!
"Shit! I'm not delicious! Don't eat me!"
The alpha stops growling again, and seems to be shaking. The other wolf snarls at her. She snarls back.
Of fucking course! "You're siblings?" Okay, that's it, you need to tell me who you are. Between cautiouswolf and hyperprotective wolf," indicating the alpha and the beta in order, "who the hell are you?"
The beta keeps growling but defers reluctantly to the alpha. She studies Stiles, looking at him and not laughing wolfishly anymore. There's no hint of threatening demise, just curiosity.
It would be too far to say it's quite trust, but it's the recognition that the confusion is mutual and that there is no threat.
Stiles also looks at this as another opportunity to try to talk himself out of the situation. He gives explaining himself another try.
"I was here by accident the first time, and then I found the garden," he waves over to it, easily seen from where all three wolves stood. The beta wolf didn't take his eyes off Stiles, but the alpha regarded his handiwork without apparent comment and resumed studying Stiles.
"Keep talking," was the obvious implication. Order. It was definitely an order, and Stiles agreed that he should continue.
"My mom planted a garden exactly like this one at home. So finding such a unique one out here, at the site of," he looks at the house and murmurs, "really bad stuff is just weird." He feels his cheeks tighten and get heavy and a tear slips down his cheeks. "She died before she told me what all the plants are for. As far as I know she didn't even know the family." He turns around, letting embarrassment at his own emotions put his unguarded back at risk of wolfish sneak-attack.
There's a shuffling noise behind him that tugs his attention back and he wipes his face. It's blotchy, and gross, he's sure, but he's looking at the wolves.
Something quiet happened here while he was turned around. The male wolf is looking almost... ashamed in some way, and the alpha turns back to Stiles after a staredown with the beta and seats herself a step closer to Stiles.
He decides not to mention that moving closer is just as terrifying than all of the other scary things they've done because the seated pose is probably just a ruse to get him when he's vulnerable, but...
Thump.
That was a tail. He looks around her sitting form as if trying to find her tail. Her expression reads as, most likely, "You seriously need to chill." Off to the side, the beta just looks mean as ever and ready to chew on his soft and fleshy neck.
He pulls his phone out and texts his dad. He holds up a finger to the wolf who'd risen to her feet again.
"No, just a minute. My dad's expecting me and I need to let him know that I'll be a little late. I'm not telling him about our little one-sided conversation, which you really should join, by the way." The wolves seemed mollified, if not satisfied with the answer. Neither rises to the bait and starts speaking, so the beta keeps his ears rotating around, listening for danger, and the alpha's ears are firmly oriented in his direction.
"Do you know this place?" The ear flick of the alpha and the glance at the house let him connect some dots. "The Hale family lived here and you knew them."
For the next several minutes, Stiles explains what he has learned of the Hales from his look into the school archives, the police and fire reports, the insurance report he'd acquired through a friend of a friend who shall all remain nameless. He tells of the obituary and the news stories and the details that don't make sense.
He's speculating and journeying down educational, if difficult to follow sidetracks, and mentions one detail that catches the wolves' complete attentions. It was about the catatonic John Doe found a few days later a short walk from the highway.
"Oh? Uhh, I just think maybe there's a connection between that John Doe and the Hale fire. There's too many weird details, things that haven't happened at any other time in this town or probably any town. It's tidy and messy at the same time. I don't trust that."
He's been looking at things on his phone that are pictures or notes or scans of things he's found and looks for the rest of what he discovered about that John Doe.
"Look," he says as he flips the phone toward them. "I found evidence that— Oh, I don't know if you even see in color, or if you can read this in your current shape. Hopefully you're better than other canines about that but you're not answering questions right now, so we'll park that for later.
He reviews the notes and continues.
"I snuck into the hospital and I think this guy really could have been a family member or friend of the Hales. He was scarred badly, as if from a fire, and though he wasn't near the Hale house, the paramedics estimated he'd already suffered two days in the cool air in probably this very state."
The sad whine of them both went unnoticed through the racing thoughts of the human.
"I still think he looks like an age-progressed version of the Beacon Hills basketball team player I found in this picture."
He makes the face as large as he can. It's just a face, and it's blurry.
The first wolf shifts back to human. She says, "Who is this?"
Stiles gasps and then tries to pretend a wolf didn't just shift in front of him to human form and start asking him questions.
"This is a picture of Peter Hale."
She turns to the other wolf. "Derek!" and she motions at him to stand up, but the wolf Derek declines. It wasn't an order, but a move of cautious excitement. Derek's keeping a wary eye in the human's direction even as his sister looms closer to the phone and examines the picture.
"I'm sorry, madam alpha, or whatever is the right title, but you appear to have no clothes on and I am not prepared to um... talk with you in this manner at this time. And stuff."
She looks at him, and then herself, and shakes her head. "When it comes to werewolves, clothing is as optional as it gets."
"Oh, your kind can't transform your clothing when you shift?" Something subconscious snags his attention. "Are you sure about that?"
She looks at him. Her hair is a little wild, and she's strong even in this form. "I know more about werewolves than you do."
He tucks his phone in his pocket.
"Okay, look, fine, you want to talk in the nude. You do you, but I really am just going to need to leave right now and clear my head and then I can... I can come back tomorrow, yeah?" He's not sure why he's excited to return. They did nearly eat him several times in this conversation, based on the number of flashes of teeth he caught in the last several minutes.
"Fine, come back tomorrow, but do not tell anyone we were here."
Stiles nods, distracted, and takes a few tries before he gets all his gardening things stuffed back into his bag and gets himself situated for the ride out of the preserve.
"I'll be here just after five tomorrow, alright? I've got work, but I'll be here, and I'll bring some stuff you can look at. Please try to get some clothes or this is going to be awkward and I am really out of awkward for the day.
"You're really not," the alpha says. Stiles sputters.
"Hey!"
"Hey, family man," she says, referring to his Polish of earlier. "I'm Laura. Who are you?"
"I'm Stiles Stilinski."
The other wolf looks at him and hruffs, almost laughing.
Cripes, these siblings are already annoying him.
"Hey, asshole, it's my name. You'd break yourself trying to pronounce my first name, so be thankful for my gracious manner."
Stiles leaves slowly, trying to go faster, but it takes a while to get his body to let go of the anxiety enough to punish his legs on the pedals and fly as fast as he can without crashing.
Kind of a tall order, some days.
"I cannot believe I just promised I'd come back to chat with those man-eaters!" He gripes at himself. "Do they eat people? How do you even ask someone if they eat people? Especially if they can change shapes and have fangs and sharp pointy parts?" He listens to his intuition. Of course they're not cannibals. Or maybe they are if they're not considered humans. "UGH! They are gonna answer so many questions tomorrow or else!"
Derek has followed him silently for maybe half a mile, listening to the bewildering blitz of self-talk ranging from werewolves to garlic naan bread and Derek just gives up and heads toward the house, where Laura is waiting for him.
Chapter 3 - The Interposing
The sun is low now, shining bright fingers through the shattered window frames and vacant doorways of the shell of this old house. By coincidence of timing and place, Laura stands in a sunny shape on the decrepit porch. Derek listens to her adjusting her stance and watches as her fingers push through a beam of sunlight and trace the crackled texture of the carbonized door frame.
"You didn't stop him and make him tell us where Peter is."
She catches his meaning immediately. "Yeah, there's something at work here keeping me from chasing him away."
"You failed," he says, gesturing broadly at her exposed form. "He can't handle this much woman."
"Well, Derek, I've got the supernatural hookup. We all do. He's going to have to get used to all this." She looks at the smudges on her fingers. "But why didn't you stop him?"
"I don't know. And I only just realized it when I said it." Now Derek looks as confused as she had been. He wasn't even feeling hostile toward the Stiles, and that is the most irritating thing about this.
She shifts her hand through beta shift and to full wolf, then back again. It's a difficult transition, but since she could just focus and do it, Derek just observed as she shifted from human form through partial beta and partial full forms, and then back to full human.
Derek was curious what she was doing, and noticed her smile as he held her fingers up.
Every finger still had dirt.
"I've never thought about how we take dirt and things with us through the shift, but not our clothes."
"Are you suggesting that he can teach us to take clothing or tools into our shift?"
She shrugged her shoulders and grinned. The pack bond resonated with satisfaction, and he rolled his eyes.
"We don't know anything about him."
"I know, but if you could feel it, you'd know that this place needs us, Derek." She looks into the house from across the threshold. "And gardener Stiles is part of whatever is going on here." They were all called here. It's magic that bound them, brought them together, and seems to be managing their introduction.
"Is he the magic user?"
"There is ample potential. Surely you could feel that by the time he left."
"I hate magic," Derek grumbles as he thinks about it. Yes, he could tell Stiles was ignorant of his own potential and that worried Derek more than the fact that this stranger happened to suddenly be part of their lives in a way that captivates his alpha.
Laura snaps her fingers. "Yo, how could you not have heard me?"
Derek raises an eyebrow in defiance. Not his best move, but now it's her turn to roll her eyes and she repeats herself.
"Let's go find Deaton. If he's around, maybe he can help us figure out who this is and what kind of magic is being worked here."
"Can we pass the hospital, too? I'd like to see if we might find uncle Peter."
She nods. That matters a lot to both of them, too. She resolves that before 5pm tomorrow, they'll have gotten at least one answer to the question of what's going on. She leans into a full shift and Derek follows, chasing her as they race into the forest for the long route to the vet's office.
"My dad is going to kill me when he finds out I was talking with werewolves at the Hale house." He nearly skids to a stop and releases his clenched brake. He isn't a Hollywood stunts expert and he would not have recovered well from a solo crash on the pavement. His ego would be only one of his many bruised parts.
He considers 14 different stories that seem plausible enough, dismissed half of them outright as abominations, and spend the next minutes thinking up some 40 more before settling on the best candidate.
He parked his bike along the side of the house and walked quickly to the front, nearly crashing into his patient and curious father on the porch.
"Hello Stiles. You didn't say why you'd be late, but—"
"I was watching the sunset!" he interjected. Dad glances toward the sun now, indicating that the sunset isn't done yet.
"Nope, you weren't. Do you want to tell me what really happened?"
"Yes!" he squeaks, and then rushes his dad inside with a glance over his shoulder that lacks any essence of subtlety. He's checking the few houses in view to see if anyone in a homes or yard or car or suspicious van might be spying on them. He closes the door quietly and pointedly locks it.
"Are you sure this is necessary, Stiles?"
"Dad, my world has been supernaturally rocked tonight, and what I'm about to tell you will do the same for you."

Stiles?
[disclaimer for other folks before I start this one: I HAVE ONLY WATCHED SEASONS 1-4 OF TEEN WOLF.  I *am* going to finish it, and I have been carefully avoiding spoilers for anything past Season 4, including general impressions of whether or not people like various seasons, comparisons of quality between seasons, etc.  PLEASE do not reply to this post or talk to me about Teen Wolf unless you are scrupulously avoiding ALL discussion of seasons 5-6.  Thank you!]
First impression:
Positive!  I already have a weak spot for smart, witty side characters, so I liked him from the start.  But I didn’t get super interested in him until the episode with the parent-teacher conference - the sequence where each parental group is having a conversation with a different teacher and something is revealed about each of the kids is actually what got me hooked on Teen Wolf as a whole.  Before that, I’d been kind of casually interested in all the characters, but then the show turned around and was like, “hey, remember the character tropes we set you up for with these kids?  SURPRISE, WE’RE SMARTER THAN THAT!  EVERY SINGLE OF THESE CHARACTERS IS FULLY ROUNDED AND FLESHED OUT AND DOESN’T FIT IN A BOX.”
The whole way that sequence is edited is just fantastic.  How it cuts between what the teachers are saying and what the kids are doing at that moment - amazing.  The minute I heard about Jackson’s adoption/Scott’s missing dad/Stiles’s mom/Lydia’s intelligence + her parents’ separation, I was a goner for that show.
Impression now:
Love him.  It’s hard for me to say “favorites” with Teen Wolf, because I really do adore every single character.  But he’s one of my favorites. XD
Favorite moment:
Way too many.  One of the smaller moments that I really love with him is during 3A when they’re trying to escape with Cora from the hospital, and they’re exiting the ambulance, and Stiles stops midway out and the scene kind of slows down as he stares at the intake form hanging on the ambulance door, because he just saw the signature line that said “Parent/Guardian” and he’s figuring out that Jennifer isn’t actually aiming for “warriors” right now, she’s aiming for “guardians.”  And then he takes off running, because he knows Jennifer’s going to go for Melissa.
I love the way that entire scene was cut, and the way they start playing this song as he begins to figure it out, and the way everything else slows down and the world falls away as realization sets in.  I just really love seeing how smart he is - his brain is always working, even when they’re in the middle of a crisis.  Like Lydia says, “You’re the one who always figures it out.”
Speaking of Lydia - another favorite Stiles moment is at the dance in 1.11, when he tells her he knows how smart she really is and that she’s going to "write some insane mathematical theorem that wins [her] the Nobel Prize.”  I just - I will legitimately go to the mat over lazy, provably incorrect takes that try to argue that Stiles was just immaturely idolizing the “image” of a girl he thought was pretty.  The entire point of their relationship is that Stiles has always seen past the airhead image Lydia puts on to survive their high school jungle - he doesn’t shame her for putting it on, but he doesn’t lie to her about believing the act, either.  He knows she’s a genius.  He admires her so much.  He thinks she’s the coolest damn person in the world.
[^Someday I will type up the infuriated rant that rises in me every time I see some unbearably misguided take on Stiles’s relationship with Lydia falling into the “Nice Guy (TM)” category (when it is canonically the EXACT OPPOSITE), because every time I see someone say that I get the urge to start breaking stuff.]
Idea for a story:
Oh, boy.  Well, I have about 50k of unpublished Teen Wolf fic (from both Stiles and Allison’s POV) on my computer, which was all part of a massive two-part project that in retrospect I think was maybe a little too ambitious for me at the time.  I’m not abandoning it, because I love what I’ve written so far, but it needs to be seriously re-worked before it can be continued.
Ultimately, the project was my answer to some things about 3B that I found unsatisfying on a storytelling front, but it was a bigger thing than I could pull off successfully at that stage of my writing life.  I’ve been getting a lot more experience with longfic and plotting from my Merlin work, though, so I think once I pivot back to Teen Wolf I’ll be better placed to tackle this project.
Unpopular opinion:
If there’s anybody here who ships the Big Teen Wolf Ship, you’ll probably want to go ahead and scroll on by this bit.
I have generally been very diligent about avoiding the TW fandom, just because I’m still avoiding spoilers for the seasons 5 and 6, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been, uh...exposed to way more information about its ship distribution than I ever wanted to know.  And I remain BAFFLED about why it looks the way it looks.
I say this every time this topic comes up, but there are some ships that I just don’t care for, and then there are some ships that I literally cannot comprehend where on earth they came from.  Derek/Stiles is a ship where I can’t understand where it came from.  It squicks me so badly.  Literally just the tiniest glimpse of it makes me want to crawl out of my skin.
I don’t know if people just...don’t understand that Derek is canonically in his twenties?????  Or if they’re all fast-forwarding the timeline and aging Stiles up; I don’t know.  I’ve never investigated.  But I don’t understand why this ship ever even occurred to anyone.  I don’t get it.  I was teaching high school when I was Derek’s age.  There is NOTHING romantically compatible between a 16 year-old and a 22/23 year-old, in any non-fucked up version of reality.
So there’s the grossed-out factor, for me, and then there’s also just the fact that this ship is yet another example of fandom’s inability to read any relationship with a fascinating, complex dynamic as anything other than romantically-motivated, despite the fact that a romantic relationship is indisputably NOT present in the canon.
Anyway.  I could say more about this, but ultimately I’m a “you do you” person.  I’m not going to bother anyone for shipping this, and I don’t care what people do with their own fandom time.  But my personal unpopular opinion is that Derek/Stiles is the most bizarre, textually unsupported, squicky ship I’ve ever seen.
Favorite relationship:
Stiles and Scott, Stiles and Lydia, Stiles and Allison, Stiles and Melissa.  And STILES AND HIS FATHER.
Favorite headcanon:
This is WAY old, but to pull from an ancient post: a friend and I used to talk about the Great Flu Epidemic of 2005, which brought down the entire McCall-Stilinski clan over the course of a single weekend and which has never been definitively traced back to its source. To this day, the four of them still argue about who brought it home first.
Stiles does a science project on it in the fourth grade and on the one hand his teacher is actually impressed and relieved that Stiles was finally able to focus on something long enough to finish an assignment, but when little Scott McCall keeps interrupting Stiles’s presentation to present contrasting evidence it turns into a Production of Epic Proportions and the class gets too riled up to focus on anyone else’s projects.
The call home that time is basically like:
Mrs. Gordon: “So the good news is this project was surprisingly well-researched - ”
Papa Stilinski: “Oh, god.”

Word Count: 1618 words
Warnings: none
Summary: Stiles has to find somewhere to keep young!Derek until they can find out what exactly happened to him and there is only one place in the world that he can think of.
———————————————————————————————————
Stiles was at a loss.
He had a sixteen year old Derek in the passenger seat of his jeep and he had to find somewhere to take him.
As of right now, they had no idea how to fix him and the last thing they needed was for Derek to be running loose all over Beacon hills.
...And so far Stiles only had one idea.
He had to take Derek somewhere he would want to stay, with someone he was comfortable with. The only problem was that most of the people that Derek knew when he was sixteen were dead now. There were very few people that he was close with at that time, but then it hit him. There was one person that he had always been close to, that was not only in Beacon hills, but would be more than happy to help with the current predicament.
“Hold tight, I know just where to go” he allowed, focusing his eyes on the road for the only destination he knew he would be welcome this late at night.
You had been Stiles’ favorite teacher since he was a freshman in high school. Which was shocking, mostly because you taught English which was one of his least favorite classes. Still, once he learned the truth, it all made much more sense.
When Scott became part of the hidden supernatural community of Beacon hills, you were one of the first people to come forward to help him. Other than Derek, you were one of the only mentors that Scott actually had.
And there was a reason for that.
You were human, yes. However, you’d been there through Derek’s entire transition, allowed to partake because Talia knew something that you didn’t. Not only were you Derek’s best friend, but you were also his anchor. Her son had no hope of learning control without your help, so she allowed you to become part of their world.
You helped Derek keep his composure and in exchange, the entire Hale pack kept you alive. There wasn’t a threat in the world that could have touched you, you were completely protected. Peter often joked that you were more well guarded than a priceless gem.
...And he wasn’t wrong.
Derek would have killed anything to protect you. He would have done anything to protect you, no exceptions. That bond, built nearly from your birth, grew with you.
Which was the exact reason that you were Stiles’ only option right now.
No one else would know what to do, and at the very least, Derek was guaranteed to stay calm in your presence, even with you being much older than the last time he remembered seeing you.
~
The knock on your door didn’t startle you all that much, though you were fully prepared for an ambush at all times. The Hale family had quite a few enemies and you weren’t an idiot, though you thought that if someone was going to hurt you, they wouldn’t use the doorbell.
More than anything, you were just hoping for some news on Derek.
He had been missing for days, and while you knew that Scott and the pack were on the case, you couldn’t help but worry.
“Ms.Y/L/N? It’s Stiles” a voice called through the door, letting you know that you were, absolutely, not under any kind of attack. Instead, there was a teenager on your doorstep and knowing Stiles, it could be anything.
You let out an unintentional sigh of relief when you opened the door, desperately hoping that Stiles had some news about where Derek was.
“Hi Stiles, what’s up?” you wondered, tightening your robe around your top, though you were completely dressed. You didn’t have to worry about him seeing anything, you just didn’t particularly like your students to see you in your pjs.
Though, at this point, Stiles was a bit closer to you than a typical student.
He just smiled at first, not sure how to break the ice into what he was about to tell you.
“Any news on Derek?” you hummed desperately, your nerves had been fried since he first went missing.
You just wanted him to come home.
At that, Stiles’ smile widened to a more nervous, awkward sort of look as he gestured out to the car. You could hardly make out what he was trying to tell you but even this far away, you knew that whoever was in the car, it wasn’t Derek.
Not your Derek anyway.
“What is that?” you wondered, squinting your eyes to try to confirm or deny what you thought you were seeing.
You recognized the kid sitting in the passenger seat, but it wasn’t possible.
“We found Derek” Stiles allowed, shrugging as if that was somehow enough information for you to just put the pieces together yourself. He should have known better, honestly. Even in class, you would never let Stiles get away with things like that.
In all honesty, you just couldn’t believe what he was insinuating.
Of all the things you’d seen in your life, this had to be the craziest.
“You’re trying to tell me that’s Derek?” you clarified, unsure what the pack had been up to as of late. You really had to stop letting these kids go places on their own. Stiles only nodded, hoping that you’d be able to help him.
You were honestly his only hope at this point.
All you could do was sigh, taking a deep breathe. “Go get him” you suggested, heading inside to go start boiling water. This was going to be a long night and there was no way you were going to entertain a couple of teenage boys without some cinnamon hot cocoa.
It had always been Derek’s favorite, and you were going to need someone to tell you what was going on...in more detail than Stiles gave you in the first place.
You were going to go insane.
Derek had been cute when you were an actual teenager but taking care of him at sixteen as a grown woman wasn’t going to be as cute. You just wanted to cuddle with your Derek, the grown Derek with a beard, and abs, and a necklace with your name on it around his neck.
Being in sixteen year old Derek’s vicinity under these circumstances just made you uncomfortable.
...But knowing that he was still Derek made it a little easier.
You could only imagine how scared and confused he was right now. If you could make it even a little better, you were going to do it.
Besides, no one knew Derek better at that age so maybe it would be easy to bond with him. You just hoped that it was like riding a bike, that you never forgot how to do it.
Your Derek was different now, than he was at sixteen after all.
However, as soon as Stiles came into the kitchen with Derek on his heels, all those nerves melted away. The love that you felt for him then and now was still there, it had just taken a more protective turn as of right now.
"Oh my god, you're so tiny" you gasped, reaching out to take his face in your hands. It had been so long since you'd seen him like this and you couldn't help it...
He was just so cute.
Derek looked bothered at first until he realized just who you were.
You were much more grown up than he remembered but there was no mistaking it. You were the most beautiful woman he'd ever laid eyes on. That was never, ever going to change.
"Y/N?" he asked, his words only slightly affected by the smooshing of his face. He could hardly believe what he was seeing, you were so grown up.
All you could do was smile at first, just taking in the moment. It was hard to believe that this was happening.
-But you knew that it was.
You were physically holding him in your hands, smooshing his handsome little face between your fingers. It was the same face you'd held a million times before but it was different at the same time.
He was so little, so young.
"How did he get like this?" you demanded, turning your attention to Stiles though you didn't remove your hands from Derek's face.
Somebody was going to have to start talking real quick because there was nothing in Beacon hills that could do this...at least as far as you knew. Stiles faltered slightly, having your attention turned to him.
This was, partially, his fault after all.
He didn't exactly want to face you all alone. You could be scary when you were angry, and Stiles had always been more wary of you temper than anyone elses, including Derek.
Especially right now.
"Um, we think that Kate did something  in Mexico" he allowed, bracing himself for a scolding.
A scolding that would never come.
Instead, when he opened his eyes-he found a shocked look on your face. You thought that Kate Argent was dead. At least, as far as you knew.
You had seen Peter kill her, you had seen them lower her casket into the ground. There was no way that she could have done this.
Though, when you actually thought about it, it sort of made sense. Kate had always had a thing for Derek, and on top of that, she was a tad bit crazy. If anyone had motive to make Derek sixteen again, it was her.
"Did you just say Mexico?" you wondered, only catching it after the shock of hearing about Kate's resurrection.
With a nod of his head, you made your final decision...the pack was never going anywhere alone again.

Request: " Hey! I have a teen wolf request where reader is part of the pack and has been best friends with Scott and Stiles since childhood. But lately she's been isolating herself from the group. Even at pack meetings she doesn't talk much and is almost always on edge. She's struggling with suicidal thoughts, too, but doesn't tell anyone bc she doesn't wanna bother them & doesn't think anyone really cares that much. ++ ++Somehow the pack figures out what's going on and they all remind her how important she's to them and there's too much fluff. Also, if you could slip in some Isaac x reader into all this that would be amazing. Sorry this is so long. And if you're not comfortable writing this, it's fine. Love your writing! :)”
Ship: Isaac x Fem!reader
Warnings: fluff, minor kissing, suicidal thoughts, mentions of depression, angst, self-deprivation, etc. *WARNING READ AT YOUR OWN ACCORD*

Third P.O.V
Strange how something as bright as the sun cannot alter the attitude of a person. The beaming warm energy seemed to be sucked up by the clouds, its darkness far more superior. How accurate.. (Y/n) pondered to herself as she lazily pulled her limp body out from under the sheets. There was little to nothing motivating her to go to school. She could lay there all day if she wanted to. With a faint sigh, she knew that the three people she cared about the most wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen.
(Y/n) would never get use to the stir of the high school. The zoo like energy left her exhausted and she had only just entered. Scott and Stiles came bumbling in seconds later with the energy of two excited puppies and she couldn’t help but smile softly to herself. Scott handed her one of his many apples while Stiles’ Cheetos covered fingers dove back into his backpack to look for more snacks. Nothing says a healthy breakfast like Cheetos, apples and pop-tarts. (Y/n) had the tendency to ‘forget’ to eat breakfast and the boys would always bring enough food to share between the three of them.
Tumblr media
Once they dropped her off to class, the boys sprinted across the school to get to their own course lectures. Almost immediately, the loneliness settles in, drowning her out. Her first class comes around and she wants nothing more than to leave. Lydia doesn’t acknowledge her presence as (Y/n) takes the farthest seat in the back, too preoccupied by her lipstick and mirror to look at anyone else in the room. Not even her teacher sends a warm smile her way as she normally would. “Look at that. Nobody cares about you.” A dark, menacing voice chuckles inside her head. She does her best to ignore it but (Y/n) can feel it growing, bubbling up inside until she explodes.
Go talk to Allison. Allison is nice! She’s always been good to you. She attempts to balance out the bad with a little good. But when Allison runs into Lydia and some other girls, she’s taken away, not daring to put up a fight when (Y/n) calls for her. “Useless. Nobody cares about you. See, she didn’t even bother to acknowledge you.” Her heart falls to the pit of her stomach as she pulls her books closer to her chest, feeling small and worthless as the dark thoughts continue to plague her mind. Curling her fingers around the binding, the young girl finds comfort in the feeling, calming her momentarily.
Tumblr media
Isaac notices the interaction, about to join her by her locker when Coach called him for rounds. Cursing under his breath, he ran over to the group. He had noticed how (Y/n) had been smiling less each day. How her laugh wouldn’t echo throughout the hallway or the lack of energy each room had without her presence in it. To him, she was the sole reason behind a lot of things. And without it, the world seem to turn grey and cold. Isaac hoped he could slip out early to catch her and make her smile, just once. That’s all it took to make him swoon for her.
But (Y/n) went home and tossed her work to the side. When she wasn’t in an environment that demanded anything from her, she refused to put any effort in. School or not, her motivation to do much of anything declined rapidly. The weekend went by excruciatingly slow and as each day came, the pack began to notice the behavioral shift in her. Two meetings in a row, not a word left her plump lips. Not like it would matter anyway.. She thought lowly to herself. (Y/n) felt useless in the presence of others, especially around the people who she believed to be her friends.
Tumblr media
What was the point of doing this each day? (Y/n) pondered as she stared off out the window. I don’t bring anything to the pack meetings. They don’t seem to care about me or what I do? My parents are disappointed in my grades and lack of energy.. My friends don’t talk to me anymore. What’s the point? Why am I putting so much effort in for nothing in return. Nobody cares about me.. Whether I’m alive or dead.. She sighs to herself. A small tear slipping out from underneath her mask, falling gently on the paper.
“Miss (Y/L/N)..” A gentle voice asks.
She looked up to see Mrs. Abernathy, the English teacher waddling over to sit in the chair in front of (Y/n). Though Mrs. Abernathy had wrinkles around her eyes and cheeks she was an absolutely stunning woman. Her eyes crinkled at the corner when she smiled. This is a woman who’s had a long life and wears her age with pride. And spoke to the kids as she would her own grandchildren.
“Miss (Y/L/N), class is finished. It has been for about five minutes, dear.” Her voice is soft and warm.
Sniffling, she began to pack her bag. “I’m sorry, ma’am.. I didn’t realize.. I’ll get going-”
But before she could stand up, Mrs. Abernathy took her by the wrists and looked deep into her eyes before saying, “Hun, if you ever need anything, please let me know, okay? Things can get really hard in life but there is always someone there willing to listen. I’ll see you for class tomorrow. Now go get some food while you can.”
Tumblr media
(Y/n) was taken back by such a intimate conversation. She had always been close with her English professors. They always seemed to understand what she was trying to depict in her writing and did exceptional in the course. But this was unlike anything she’d ever felt before. It was just the right thing she needed to hear. The faintest bit of reassurance managed to push her through the grueling day. Suddenly her phone buzzes and she can’t help but groan.
From Batman: Pack meeting tonight- Scott’s place @ 7 p.m
Later that evening, she dressed in the same sweatpants and sweatshirt she’d worn to bed for the past three nights, oddly still clean. (Y/n) didn’t plan on staying that long, not like they’d notice if she left early anyways. But when she opened the door, something felt different. Stiles rounded the corner, took her hand and dragged her into the living room. For the first time in weeks, everyone was looking directly at (Y/n) instead of through her. Isaac and Scott sat on either side, smiling reassuringly as Isaac laced his fingers through her hand.
“W-What is happening..?” Unaccustomed to the beady eyes staring back at her.
Scott glanced at everyone in the room and then back at (Y/n).
“This is an intervention of some sort.”
Confused, she tilted her head before looking back at Isaac and Stiles for clarity.
“What the doofus is trying to say is-” Stiles begins but Isaac cuts him off.
Tumblr media
“That we know about how you feel..” He pauses momentarily, looking for the right words before continuing. “See, as werewolves, we can sense each others emotions and I’ve noticed how your aura emulates a sense of sadness, depression and anxiety.. I should have noticed it sooner.. But this meeting pretty much is-”
Scott interrupts, “Basically, we want you to know how much we love, appreciate and care about you. Without you, we would be dead meat and you save our asses constantly. You’re the glue of the pack and we’ve all been shitty friends to you-”
Stiles jumps in, “Actually I’ve been great, I can’t say the same for the rest of them but he has a point. (Y/n), you are my best friend and it breaks my heart to see you sad. You are so fun and gentle and kind and you always know how to make people feel better-”
This time Lydia of all people jumps in, “That’s true. I’ve been a shitty friend and I should have spoken to you more. I have no excuse for lack of communication but what Stiles is saying is true. You are so bright and amazing and always seem to make me laugh, especially when I’m trying to be serious. That in of itself is a feat.”
Tumblr media
Isaac squeezes (Y/n)’s hand, smiling down at her. “You literally light up a room, ya know that? When you smile, you outshine every star in the sky. Your laugh is contagious and you are so empathetic. No matter what someone’s done, you always seem to see the best in people even when we can’t. We’d be completely lost without you, (Y/n).”
Tears fall down her face before she can even process what’s happening. Scott places his hand her back while Isaac pulls her into a warm embrace.
“T-Thank you..” Her voice cracks.
“Tonight is about you!” Allison smiles, taking (Y/n)’s hands in hers. “Stiles ordered your favorite and we are watching all of the Star Wars movies. We also have popcorn, snacks and blankets. We love and appreciate you so much, (Y/n).”
The young girl looked at all the people who stood around her. And for the first time in weeks, a genuine smile crept up onto her cheeks. That evening, with their bellies full, she put her head on Isaac’s shoulder while Stiles and Scott sat in front of her on the floor, throwing popcorn at each other. Never in her life did she feel so much love and happiness in one room. Curling up closer to Isaac, (Y/n) knew her smile wouldn’t leave her that night. And that’s just the way she liked it.
(I hope you guys liked it! PLEASE COMMENT)
