#sylph class
Note
What's the difference between a mage, sylph, muse, and knight of void?
Mage knows how to screw in a lightbulb but won’t tell you.
Sylph goes around unscrewing lightbulbs humming to themself.
Muse preaches about the value of darkness but doesn’t actually unscrew anything.
Knight slingshots every lightbulb in the house.
None of them can change a lightbulb.

Asking for Sampo classpect bestie ♥️
One Sampo analysis comin right up bestie! ♥️
Edit: Damn even when writing him henever ceases to make me mad. My draft not saving 4 times...
Sampo Koski: The Sylph of Rage
gonna put in a page break this time, for this is a doozy!
Sylph: The passive creation class
One who creates their aspect for others.
Alternatively, one who heals through their aspect.
Rage
Abstract: Doubt, Confusion, Skepticism, Chaos, Truth, Actual Rage
Literal: Clowns, Cults, Theater
Rage is one of the most... bewildering aspects in Homestuck, and those who identify with it are even more-so.
Sampo is no different: A man of many voices and personas, sending anyone that has the misfortune of running into him into a whirlwind of schemes and swindles.
Rage.
Those bound to the aspect are sources of great confusion and chaos. They're steadfast and stick to what they believe in, near impossible to convince them of otherwise. Though this might label them as stubborn, it's unwise to underestimate them:
Tumblr media
Sampo's introduction to the astral express crew was nothing short of baffling. What is a man doing there huddling beneath a pile of snow in the middle of nowhere?
Tumblr media
The answer comes rushing in with Gepard running into the Astral Express Crew in his pursuit for the blue haired man. Gerpard accuses them of being Sampo's accomplice and when they try to clarify that they aren't, Sampo disappears. Note that this makes March 7th very angry.
Tumblr media
This, apparently, isn't anything new and has gained a reputation for causing trouble. Disappearing at inopportune moments, antics like these are considered as "classic" behavior by Seele.
Tumblr media
Now that his chaotic nature is established, next is pinning truth into his character. But how can a man who constantly lies and connives have any bit of truth tied to them?
Let's segway into his class, the Sylph
I know it sounds kinda weird, but bear with me.
Sylphs are mostly known as the healers of Homestuck, creating and providing others with their aspect to aid them in one way or another. But keep in mind that this isn’t always the case.
Sylph of Light Aranea Serket has more obvious examples of healing and providing Light to others. In our first introduction to the character, she offers to heal Terezi of her blindness, stating that she could help "people see things":
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How magical.
Aranea can also instill literal Light into people, like what she did with Jake English.
Tumblr media
Next we have Kanaya Maryam, our Sylph of Space. When we get to meet her properly, we get to see her in her room. Kanaya's room is covered with garments she created, some for other people.
Tumblr media
Obvious Sylph behavior there, but Kanaya's role becomes more... atypical than what one would expect a Sylph to be.
Kanaya's aspect of Space is associated with both emptiness and matte; literal space. Therefore Kanaya heals through creating more space.
During the Horrorstuck phase of the comic, Eridan was planning on joining the side of the antagonist Bec Noir as a desperate attempt to keep livin. He blasts holes into both of them, killing two trolls as some sort of proof to Bec's loyalty. One of those trolls was of course Kanaya, and through what I could label as a unique ascension into her role as a Sylph by reviving as a rainbow drinker was she able to stop Eridan from killing any further.
First, she was able to fill in her otherwise fatal wound before hunting down Eridan and return the favor, increasing the space within his torso:
Tumblr media
This may have not have healed anyone, in fact its the opposite, but killing Eridan was for the benefit of the other trolls still alive.
Sylphs are also the archetype of the fairy. Fairies can grant wishes or power to those who ask for it, just like how Kanaya created a wand for Eridan and how Aranea gives long expositions to anyone who comes across her booth, acting out the phrase "Knowledge is Power".
So how does this apply to Mr. Koski?
Remember that the Sylph is a passive class, they don’t take action themselves until someone or something else influences them to do so. And once they are incentivized to act, they act to help others accomplish their goals.
I should also mention that it’s ironic that a person on the path of Nihility, a character that deals in debugging the opponent, would be classified as a healer player.
So what if I told you that Sampo Koski is the true savior of Belobog.
Let’s go back to our protagonists’ first meeting with him: If it weren’t for the convenience of his encounter at the beginning and the subsequent misunderstanding with the Silvermane Gaurds of being his accomplices, the Astral Express Crew wouldn’t have easily been able to find their first lead in their mission through Cocolia.
But before they were about to leave with them, when March 7th was still trying to prove their innocence, the Trailblazer shows the Captain, Gepard, a photo of their planet as proof that they aren't from this planet.
The image stirs up feelings of surprise and awe, the viewers unable to believe that what they're looking at is their home.
Tumblr media
This would lead to the first bit of Belobog's lore and what life was like before the big freeze, being retold in legends.
Tumblr media
This also raises confusion for the players, you must have wondered why Belobog is in an ice age while the past had recounts of outer-world visitors at least once.
For his freedom, Sampo enables truth and suspicion. Though a trade evokes images of a rogue, there is a explanation that I'll dive into later in another post.
Two big examples that showcase his "roundabout restoration" both happen during the opening and closing acts of the Underworld arc.
While the Trailblazer and March were at Natasha's resting, Dan Heng wakes up. Sampo talks to him first and instructs him to join the fight club, telling him that if he were to become champion he would be able to uncover something about it.
Tumblr media
Though, winning doesn't exactly mean that one can get into direct contact with them. Instead, winning buffs Dan Heng's reputation and his likelihood of reaching someone who may have their answer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This leads them to Wildfire, where the Underworld arc begins. Through Sampo having the Astral Express crew meet Wildfire were they able to save the Underworlders from their crisis and the Crew able to discover more about the planet’s stellaron.
It’s also where Bronya, who was also brought down there by Sampo, not old uncovers the truth of Belobog’s underground residents, but also about herself and her origins rooted down there, both of which were hidden from her by her mother Cocolia. And through that experience does she decide that once she becomes Supreme Guardian she will help her planet for the better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Sampo didn’t bring Bronya to the Underworld to witness their hardships, she wouldn’t have the initiative to help them once she returned. We also wouldn’t have had BronSeele
Tumblr media
I should also note that Sampo could also have been named after the mythological item of the same name. The Sampo from Finnish mythology was a device forged by a blacksmith named Ilmarinen, its purpose was to bring great wealth and prosperity yet the characters that are involved in its story were consumed by greed and fought for its ownership before losing it in the sea and breaking it.
Next, let's discuss the arc of the Sylph.
Sylphs deal with the struggle of moderating their aspect, sometimes having so much of it that they push it onto others needlessly in the form of meddling. Meddling in other's affairs is a trademark characteristic of Sylphs that can be seen in Kanaya and Aranea: The former being given the name Fussyfangs due to her habit of placing herself between others and act as a mediator in stressful situations and the latter literally messing with the timeline so much she caused it’s destruction just to become important in Homestuck's larger narrative.
The entirety of his character story is just him under many disguises and swindling others left and right, meddling and double-crossing other's while causing chaos and raising suspicion while he’s at it. Sampo was also responsible for one of the most ridiculous bans to ever happen in Belobog in my opinion:
Tumblr media
But in an example where his meddling does cause some good happens when Bronya was about to (falsely) apprehend our Crew, Sampo comes in out of nowhere to rescue them. In the process though, he knocks everyone out. His interference saves our protagonists and skews Cocolia’s plans off course.
For saving him from Gepard, he feels like he owes us a rescue back.
Tumblr media
For how he knew where to find us, he tells the Trailblazer that after his escape from Gepard, he looked after them and March and Dan Heng afterwards.
Tumblr media
In fact, Sampo has a peculiar habit of watching others, especially if who he's watching has no idea.
This moves onto my next and final point: What is Sampo's purpose in the story as a Sylph of Rage?
This is where this post will cross more into theory territory, starting with Sampo's Lightcone.
The card's brief description describes a sniper aiming his crosshairs at Sampo, who seems oblivious to his impending demise as he throws money all around him. Before the sniper can pull the trigger however, his target turns to look at him through the lenses. Almost as if he was waiting for him.
Tumblr media
The description mentions how it seems that Sampo can read minds, but I can promise you that he likely couldn't. But what Sampo could do is appear to those he thinks can benefit from his services, attracting them by doing something outrageous. Hence his plead to have his assassin to hear him out.
This brings us to his last cutscene in Belabog: the Trailblazer’s fever dream.
In it, he does say some very… curious things. Although it can be said that this is how the Trailblazer perceives the man, there’s a few things about this scene that make me think otherwise.
The dream plays out like a snippet of a play with Mr. Koski being center stage. He seems to be talking to someone, briefly recounting his feelings on the Astral Express Crew.
This "someone" could be the Aeon Aha, who's design is a chaotic mashup of circus and drama, both of which are associated with the Aspect of Rage.
Tumblr media
Who Sampo could be talking to could be Aha, the Aeon of Elation. Despite being on the path of Nihilty, why would he have ties to a different Aeon?
Well, Nihility is only half of what Aha represents. The summary of their beliefs being that the universe is ultimately without meaning, Nihility, and cruel by nature. But Aha does give a reason to live through that pain, and so what it means to live a life to the Elation is to find joy to numb the pain.
Tumblr media
Healing wounds, diluting sorrow and eliminating pain through laughter well explains the role of a Sylph of Rage in simple terms. Sampo echoes this statement in the Trailblazer's dream, adding onto how he'd rather be on the sidelines instead of being an active player:
Tumblr media
It's been established that Sampo likes to work behind the scenes in order to avoid arrest and that the events in Belabog have left him exposed more than he'd like. He is given the offer to leave and come to Epsilon, which is curiously enough the only place where Aha's followers, the Masked Fools, are mentioned to be in.
Tumblr media
He refuses, saying how he doesn't find the place any fun. Perhaps he doesn't find the company of Masked Fools to be anything to be associated with. When taking into consideration his secretive nature and the extravagance of the Masked fools, then it's a fair assumption that he doesn't like them despite being affiliated with the same Aeon.
Afterwards, he starts to say his farewells to the entity. Though this may read like Sampo is just talking to Aha while oblivious to the fact that their conversation is being observed, the whole dream makes itself to be a play; a monologue.
Tumblr media
He mentions that he needs to make his curtain call, which is when an actor comes out from backstage to acknowledge the applause of the audience. He faces forward, towards the camera before asking if the viewers enjoyed his performance. He asks if he brought joy, but to any who played this line may just have added more confusion and suspicion to Sampo’s character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once the Trailblazer wakes up and you choose to tell March that you dreamt of Sampo, March takes it as a bad omen.
So what purpose could this dream have?
March could be correct in that the Sampo dream could be a signal for events to come. Whether those events are either good or bad, we’ll have to wait and see.
We are going to see Sampo again later down the line for his curtain call, the story on his lightcone is a microcosm of what will happen to the Trailblazer in the future: They will need help, likely in a dire situation, and Sampo will appear out of no where to aid us. His sudden appearance will certainly stir shock and surprise to everyone around him, using that to his advantage to bide precious seconds to clock in his blows.
His dream serves as a reminder that he’s watching us from the shadows, or at least keeping tabs on our progress and waiting for the right time to give the Trailblazer an offer they can’t refuse.

I just wanna say i love your analyses. im not even into homestuck that much and really only pay attention to like 2 characters and the classpect system, but your analyses on the characters and the story are always so interesting to read, and its nice to see someone who is just. so aware of it, especially of the more problematic aspects of homestuck (like its antiblackness, ableism, and the infantilizing of characters like mituna and kankri within the fandom). as a blk person its refreshing to see someone acknowledge it because most of the time i feel like these things are so swept under the rug, especially by other nonblack fans...
besides that, id like to ask. what are your thoughts on sylphs as a class and how sylphs who are doom, void, timebounnd (you know, aspects that are normally seen as "negative") interact with their aspect? i feel like out of any class, they're the ones that are difficult for me to understand. id just like to hear your thoughts!
Aww, thank you so much! This is an absolute DELIGHT to hear. I'm glad my work has held so much value to you!! It really does mean a lot. Glad I'm doing something right in your eyes. :)
Homestuck has been a deep passion of mine for years now, and I find that it's physically impossible to earnestly and completely tackle it without directly confronting the layers of bigotry that Hussie was operating under while writing the comic. The comic is so overtly caked in it that it affects even the most basic meta of it all- foundational parts of the story are infested with it like termites. Classpecting is an example. Even the magic system isn't free of it! I don't see very many people bring that up, but then again, I don't see very many people bring up literally any of the Anti-Blackness in the comic, like... Period. It fucking sucks. But that's what I'm here for, in part. If no one else will do it, then I will- and gladly so, because it really ought to be discussed more.
And, to answer your question about Sylphs of Doom, Void, and Time...
Sylphs either Mend or Create, depending on circumstance. They largely intend to maintain stability of their Aspect within themselves and their session, and are eager to speak about their own perspective + experience with their Aspect, should you let them do so. The presence of a Sylph tends to imply an excess of their Opposite Aspect.
Doom is, largely, the Aspect of Rules, Restriction, and Sacrifice. The job of a Sylph of Doom is to keep these things in check- Mending where it's needed, or Creating where it's needed. To use Sovereignstuck as an example, a Sylph of Doom could take on the role of a Game Patcher/Moderator, making sure the active session follows whatever set rules were given... Perhaps a little too strictly. Void is, largely, the Aspect of Obscurity, Nothingness, and Oblivion. Mending these may require active deceit... Though that's not necessarily a bad thing. An excess of Light is a frightening thing indeed- though largely seen as a positive Aspect, Light is about Chaos and Uncontrollability, and even the slightest amount of unchecked excess of it can snowball and tank a session. Time is, largely, the Aspect of Entropy, Fate, and... Well, Literal Time. The job of a Sylph of Time tends to imply the stabilization and restoration of Timelines. They maintain linearity- keeping the threads of Fate from getting tangled into a terrible mess. Not to bring up Sovereignstuck again, but we also have a Sylph of Time, and she aids greatly in keeping the timeline- and therefore the narrative- straightforward. A Sylph of Time would prevent the story from becoming as much of a tangled mess as Homestuck proper is... Dave was never good at keeping things clean.
I hope these explanations were adequate! Feel free to ask for any clarification you need, thank you for valuing my opinion, and I hope you have a lovely day!

do u think u could do an analysis for a sylph of void? ty :•}
Tumblr media
Hello! This may be a bit scattered, im writing this in class haha. Lets get into definitions, shall we?
Prospit - The moon for the Reactive, Emotionally charged choices, and Clarity. They also see the future through Prospits clouds. This is not a good thing.
Sylph - Active Creation class. [Creates [aspect], or creates with [aspect]].
Void - The aspect of litteral void, the lack of something, misinformation, secrets, misfortune, and narrative unimportance.
So, in theory, a Sylph of Void could be very similar to a rogue of void, but in execution the two are very, very different. Sylphs create through meddling, so, I could see them accidentally causing misunderstandings and spreading misinformation in an attempt to help people they're close to.
When godteired, a sylph of void could truly be a powerhouse, though theyre not one to stick to the spotlight, probably helping in more subtle ways, working behind the stage, creating the baseline for amazing weapons and things like that.
Hope this is sufficient ^_^.

I’ll admit I don’t know much about classpects, but I got derse and sylph of light when I took a quiz about it, is that a bad thing?? The only sylph of light I know was a little bit evil lol, and idk if I really relate to her!
i'm not too sure if you want an in depth analysis, but allow me to shine some light on the sylph of light (ha)
a slyph of light would not be inherently evil! sylphs, in a way, are a healing class. they'd create illumination for others. so, i think that a GOOD sylph of light would be able to shine relevancy where it need be, like motivating a player to do good (or, you know, evil)
that, and as we saw with aranea, healing terezi's eyes is her healing light. (cause, you know.. eyeball stuff... taking in light... i guess. it's a lot to explain)
so, no! a sylph of light doesn't have to be an evil class!

something about the classpecting fanon at large i truly don’t understand is the assumption that sylphs mend.
sylphs are the passive half of the creation class duo. nothing there to do with mending. and just, writing them off as healers takes away so much to the importance of sylphs as they are! i mean, we only have two sylphs, as opposed to the three maids or three seers, and yet both of them are integral to the plot.
aranea commandeers the vast majority of the latter parts of the game: over timeline, sends jake into his hope-splosion, and while her role after the retcon is diminished she still remains one of the two dancestors who move the plot. kanaya? one of two trolls to make it to earth c, and sole reason why the troll race is still fucking kicking. seriously, how do i not see more credit to her for singlehandedly bringing a functionally extinct race back online? sure, roxy voided the matriorb back into existence, but it was kanaya’s labour that allowed it to hatch and continue its purpose.
allowing the creation of creation itself - the passive creation of space. even aranea’s stunts can very well be explained in this framework: creation of light via the reparation of terezi’s sight, illuminating jake’s inner power… (now i’m of the belief that every class can do minor wonders with their aspect even outside of their verbiage, but you catch my drift.) the difference between the two lies in that aranea uses her powers extremely actively, downright forcefully. you can argue that she’s a good creator… but she’s not a good sylph.
not to mention it doesn’t make sense mechanically, either. why would sylph be the one class to get different verbiage from literally everyone else? while it would be great to have designated healers other than life players, i’m afraid that’s the way the game is played. but don’t fret: there’s nothing stopping you from finding loopholes. a sylph of void creating a lack of wounds? completely possible.

Powerset for a Sylph of Light
one who enchants and creates clarity, relevance, and risk
.
Basic Light powers: Wealth of knowledge - this may include book smarts, technical skills, memory of important events, and anything you could reasonably hyper-analyze. This knowledge has a way of coming in handy during the session - Light players are lucky like that.
Sylph special: When you are facing imminent death, you immediately recall any information that'd help you stay alive, and can incorporate it into a plan on the spot. Once per game, any parts of this plan that hinge on luck will inexplicably succeed. (You may also use this for a gambit to self-resurrect.)
.
Enchantment Skills
You can weave Light into equipment and objects, as easily as a fey casts a spell. If someone wears the equipment, or spends time near the object, they enjoy enchanted effects. Pick 1 enchantment skill you know at the start of the game. You can unlock and master more as your session progresses.
Steeped in Certainty: Draw or engrave an intricate solar symbol on an object, and charge it in Skaia's light for 12 hours, to turn it into a Good Luck Charm - with the faint glitter of gold. Equipment enchanted this way gives the wearer +7% crit chance, +3% dodge chance, and +25% crit damage. If you turn a non-equipment object into a Good Luck Charm, plot-important people and events will tend to cluster around it, but the effect drastically decreases the more objects you enchant this way.
Steeped in Knowledge: Draw or engrave an intricate flame symbol on an object, charge it in Skaia's light for 7 minutes, and speak or type as much information as you can convey on a single topic in that time, to turn it into a Mystic Codex - redolent of vanilla and warm to the touch. Anyone who touches the Mystic Codex gains the knowledge you'd conveyed while preparing the enchantment; they "remember" you explaining it, even if they weren't actually there to hear. If someone wears the Mystic Codex as equipment, they gain the same effect, plus a hit of confidence any time they try to put this knowledge into action.
Steeped in Splendor: Draw or engrave an intricate sparkle symbol on an object, attach a colored gem or ribbon, and charge it in Skaia's light for 12 minutes, to turn it into a Dazzling Beacon - glowing and sparkling. The Dazzling Beacon shines like a lantern, in the same color as the gem or ribbon you attached, for 12 hours. If someone picks it up, the light makes them look especially gorgeous, mesmerizing, or menacing. Equipment enchanted in this way gives the wearer immunity to Blindness; this effect persists after the shining effect ends.
Steeped in Relevance: Draw or engrave an intricate star symbol on a piece of equipment, and charge it in Skaia's light for a minimum of 7 days, to turn it into a Plot Device - beautiful, blazing, and golden as sunlight. Whoever wears the Plot Device will use it to take an action that inexplicably shifts the session's relevance to them, before the time used to charge it has elapsed. When you prepare this enchantment, there is no maximum charge time, and longer charge times afford greater relevance. For example, if you charge a tumbled stone for 7 days before you turn it into a Plot Device, the user might throw it and smash a window that distracts someone at a critical moment, within the week they put it on. If you charge it for two months, they might crack someone's skull with it, incite a riot in Derse's streets, and force the Black King to split his time preparing his army and silencing dissenters.
.
Healing Skills
You can mend bodies and more with the power of Light. Pick 1 Healing Skill.
Sensory Salvage: Lay your hand on someone's injured eye, ear, or other damaged sensory organ. Fiery orange light will bathe the person being healed, and when it clears, their injury will be healed and their lost sensory perception will be restored.
Return to Brilliance: Draw the seal of the sun on what you want to restore - perhaps on the door of a library afflicted by censors, or around someone who lost their memory, or around the ashes of a burnt book. After 7 hours and 7 minutes, the lost knowledge will be restored - the books appearing where they belong, the memories returned, and more. Brighter, attention-grabbing seals will offer more clarity, and perhaps richer information than there originally was; experiment with colorful paint, glowing enchantments, and alchemy.
Flourishing Fortune: Shine a bright light, magical or otherwise, on yourself or an allied player in crisis. Their eyes and fingertips flash a sunlit orange, as they undergo the effects of your Sylph special (see above). This skill only works on each player once per game.

Hellooooo you seem like someone who understands things well, I’m stuck between thief of time and sylph of space for classpecting myself and I was wondering if you could explain those a bit?? No worries if not!! 💖💖
Sure!
THIEF OF TIME
Now the thief… I have been reading the homestuck book 4 with andrews notes in it and vriska’s entire life since day 1 was spent in pursuit of attention. And she’ll get it from anyone she can. A thief of time would be trying to steal as much leisure time for their own purposes as possible from anyone around them. “Can you do my chore for me? Thanks!” “Cover me?” Or they would be stealing with time. And stealing can really mean anything. Sending someone on a goose chase to ransack their house, or monopolizing someone’s time to get information out of them. Just whatever the thief needs at the moment. Later in the game, they would be able to suck years off of others’ lives. And keep those years for themselves. They might be able to freeze people in place and speed themselves up by stealing the person’s normal passage of time and adding it to their own. Thinking up powers is fun because if you can think it and justify it it is yours. A lot of players got their powers by just wondering if they could do it, whether that’s in the parameters of their classpect, and trying it out. And then they can just do that and continue using it forever. This part is particular to the individual. I don’t know what you would want out of time or your powers, but you could think of a way of stealing something that would get you to that goal. The thief is manipulative maybe on a sliding scale, like meenah to vriska. Meenah encourages or prods others into doing her bidding. Vriska manipul8s people by controlling their fucking brain and makes them jump off cliffs or kill their girlfriends etc. This class is well suited to leadership in a boss-like way. Dictatorially (literally, in case of meenah). They are also girlboss. You know what I mean? They’re like… I don’t want to say sassy bc meenah is such a racist depiction already… but you know, they’re charismatic and con man-esque. They’re persuasive. And good orators.
SYLPH OF SPACE
We have a represented classpect here! Let’s take a look at kanaya and then we can talk about universal traits and possible differences. As you know, I share my classpect with nepeta, and I do have a core connection with her behavior and outlook, but I am. Very different from her. But she does help demonstrate what the classpect Can look like. Sylphs are generally backstage of the show. Ignore aranea. She spent like 1000 years being a side character before flipping out. Kanaya usually pulls the strings on more “important” characters, those who act more. She is constantly called meddlesome. However she isn’t really an orchestrator of anything the way a puppet master might be. She’s more like everyone’s conscience. “Are you sure you should be doing this?” “It’s okay to turn back.” That sort of thing. As she progresses through the story she starts taking more and more action. Out of nowhere she comes back from the dead to be the plot point that kills eridan. She gets more serious about her relationship with rose. She eventually makes rose stop drinking when before she could be considered an enabler (not encouraging bad behavior, but allowing it or not stopping it). Sylphs are calm controlled people who encourage growth and healing of their aspect or through their aspect. Now about space. Kanaya designs her own clothes and fashion, but she has a much stronger connection to the idea of a virgin mother. I kind of hate the christ metaphors in homestuck, not because I am Christian, but because I hate Christianity. But she literally has a virgin mother grub as her mother. And her chastity modus… and porrim her ancestor raised the signless like a mother. And he’s. The Jesus guy. Anyway kanaya needs to get the matriorb so she can hatch a new mother grub so trolls can keep being born. And jade bloods are supposed to tend to the mother grub in this parental sort of role with the baby grubs. Like an oldest sister. Kanaya also has this intense desire to auspitice other people to keep them from killing each other, also like an oldest sister. She has this extremely caretaker role in everything she does. And she ends up breeding the frog. Space players don’t necessarily have to be parental or feminine; jade wasn’t really like that, nor calliope. Those are some examples of other space things. Jade actual space and calliope storytelling and creativity. If you are laid back and accepting and likely a passive player (oh god, this is a big concept so ask in the notes if you don’t understand.) and you care about the journey more than the destination, that is what a space player is like.
It sounds like you have the right theme idea with the aspect since you picked out a dichotomy! The important part is asking yourself how you interact with that aspect and which one is more important to you or dictates your life more. Is your life spent in pursuit of “time” or are you someone who cultivates “space”? Are you nurturing or abrasive? Are you goal-oriented or meditative? And most importantly which one do you just straight up like more.

Hello! Can you analyze a Sylph of Blood please?
•Hell yeah! I actually already looked into this specific class before opening this blog, so I just had to put my thoughts all in here. The perfect classpect to figure out how I'm formatting everything! Plus, breath and blood are my 2 favorite aspects, and I'm a particular sucker for blood lol. also sorry this one took so long, life got in the way and I got writer's block (essay block? Explainers block? Idk).
This post is gonna kind of messy in parts since it's the first time I've explained sylphs or blood, so the thoughts won't be the cleanest in explanation or execution-
The definition of Sylph on the Mspa wiki is "one who heals [aspect] or one who heals through [aspect] for others." My personal definition of the class though is somewhat similar. I've viewed Sylphs as assisting their aspect and assisting via their aspect. For example, a Sylph of Life would use their abilities to improve life around them and to help others with life. It isn't exclusively healing as the Mspa wiki puts it, but it's instead acting for the benefit of the aspect and the benefit of others. Defining it as just healing makes it seem like this class is just a nurse, the only thing they can do is just patch up things, defining it as assisting rather than healing makes more sense (at least to me). it sounds incredibly nitpicky but that explanation really confused me went I first looked into the classes.
The aspect of Blood is characterized by close relationships, dedication, and devotion. Something I like to include in my personal interpretation of blood is protection\defense. I don't know how to put my reasoning into words without sounding like I got a conspiracy board for this crap, but it goes hand in hand with the devotion part of this aspect.
Putting those two together you get someone who assists close bonds and assists others through close bonds. They'd have the best advice to give for helping you improve your relationships. If there was a group of friends and a sylph of blood was in that group, they'd be the glue holding that group together. Honestly, the best way to put it is relationship therapist. It's somewhat simple now that im putting it down in text, they're great at mending relationships. They might not even be doing it intentionally, they make it so others end up closer. An idea I find fascinating is a sylph of blood who lacks blood themself (metaphorically), a loner who knows how to keep others together but doesn't for themself.
Overall, they're an amazing team member!

Derse Sylph of Light <> Prospit Knight of Blood
A -pia and a -cer could end up being great moirails!
A Sylph of Light will focus on what they deem important, trying to teach and lift the voices they see fit. This could be very helpful for a shy Knight, who may have great ideas but difficulty finding the confidence to voice them! On the other hand, perhaps this Knight is like Karkat and needs help focusing on what is actually important, another specialty the Sylph may have.
Of course, a dersite will likely have trouble adapting to various situations, a real detriment for an information and attention-focused Light player. They likely become very frustrated when others don't listen or don't trust their judgement, which is where a relationship-focused Knight can come in handy to possibly mitigate arguments.
Of course, this is just my interpretation, and may not accurately reflect your specific situation.
