When Hyousuke ran away from home, he was found and taken in by Hajime Saito and his wife Takagi Tokio. Hajime had mentored Hyousuke in swordplay, while Takagi had mentored him on how he can use his vision and learn to control it (Hyousuke wasn’t able to control his vision powers when it first activated and even then until Takagi taught him). Hyousuke looked up to them both and considered them as his parental-figures.
Hajime Saito was a well-known samurai in Inazuma that formerly ran the Resistance army against the Vision Hunt Decree. Not only was he known for being handsome, but he was moreso known for being “made of steel”. In other words because he was known for being involved in so many wars in the past and surviving them along with a few of his comrades, he was almost looked up to as if he were a god.
Takagi Tokio was a dendro vision user that also wielded a sword. However her husband was never granted a vision (but that’s okay. He was kinda too OP for one anyway). She was one of the women that was often frowned upon in battle due to women not being allowed to join battles at the time (unless they were gods, I guess). Since she was often unable to join battles (despite actually knowing how to fight in combat because she was taught by her past relatives), she would often be home mentoring Hyousuke in the vision artes while her husband would be out for war-related stuff or being on guard duty.
When women were finally allowed to join battles, Takagi would involve herself in them and then was known as “The Field Maiden”, in which she was known for being one of the most skillful women in the battlefield just like how her husband is known for being “made of steel”.

Recientemente @gladyscontrerasart abrió una tienda en Etsy y sus productos de Lady Tokio son bellos bellos. Compré un llavero el cual no solo se ve súper cuco si no que parece muy recistente. La impresión se ve de buena calidad y los colores se ven muy bien. También compré una cinta ilustrada la cual es muy divertida.
En conclusión estoy muy alegre con mi compra y siempre es un gusto recibir bonitos productos de algo que es calidad.

Women of Ruroken Week 2017, Day 5
Ugh, I had a hard time deciding between Uki and Tokio, and Uki won out at the last minute. I used up all my romance fuel on yesterday, but Tokio and Saito still show up.
Prompt: Seasons
The cicadas were loudly singing, and Uki impatiently tapped her foot, readjusting her phone against her ear. “Look, I can’t leave, my shift’s not over!”
“Well, I can’t pick him up by myself. I’ve only got one good hand.” Her older brother complained.
She rubbed her forehead. Why did Ota have to be on that summer school trip now? Why did Sano-nii have to break his hand again? And why, why was Papa out at this hour? “I’ll ask Tokio-san if she can cover for me, and I’ll text back if it’s okay. But you have to call Katsu one more time. Got it?”
“Yeah. Got it.” He ended the call.
She groaned, slapped her cheeks with both hands, and fixed on a smile as she reentered the hospital. “Um, Tokio-san, can I ask a favor from you?”
Tokio-san looked up from the printer, which was spitting out pamphlets. “Of course. What is it?”
“My dad was arrested. Again. I might have to pick him up from the station with my brother. Is it okay if I leave a little early?”
“Why don’t you leave now?”
“I can’t do that to you. It’d just be you and all the babies.” She gestured to the room full of incubators. The NICU ward was a terribly lonely place, at night.
“I don’t mind at all. I can get out of my date.” She was already dialing.
“Even worse! You never go on dates, this is a lifetime opportunity!”
Tokio-san rolled her eyes. “It’s fine. It was a blind date, set up by Yamakawa-san. That man loves playing matchmaker…” She muttered, before clearing her throat. “Saito-san? I’m sorry, but something came up and it looks like I have to cancel. Oh.” Confusion then took over her expression. “No…that’s right. But you also work at Kamiya Kasshin? I see, surgical oncology, on the other side of this floor.”
“A surgeon. He could be rich.” Uki whispered, and was rewarded with a light shove.
“Two more hours. Are you sure you don’t want to move it?” Saito-san must have said something snide, because Tokio-san pressed her lips together, as she did when she was pissed. “Well, I’m not nervous either. I’ll see you in two hours.” She flashed her phone a disgusted look. “The date is still on. That man refuses to back down.”
“Does he know you’re a nurse?”
“He probably does; he seems informed.” Tokio-san shook her head. “Anyway, Uki, I’m your senior. Don’t worry about me, go to your dad. He needs you.”
“…okay.” Reluctantly, she left, blowing kisses to the sleeping preemies on her way out.
Half an hour later, she picked up Sano-nii and drove to the station. “I brought water. He’ll need it.” Sano-nii said.
“Hmph, we’re way too nice. He should appreciate how we’re trying to alleviate his hangover in the morning.”
“Yeah, we shouldn’t give it to him.” Her idiotic brother was about to pour the water out the car window.
“Don’t you dare!” She yelped, as the warm wind swept through her short hair. “Give it to me, I’ll save it for my shift tomorrow.”
“Damn, make up your mind.” He clicked his tongue. For a while, they were quiet.
“Mama would give him water.” Uki murmured.
“Well, she’s not here anymore.”
Breast cancer was ugly and fast. Her illness had forced Sano-nii and Papa to reconcile, after years of estrangement. Then, with her death, they had unraveled, fighting each other when they could and fighting others when they couldn’t. Uki had to hold the family together, and it was hard, to essentially be a nurse at all hours of the day. But she didn’t have a choice. She loved her father and brothers, and now that Mama was gone, she was only fiercer about it. She didn’t want to lose anyone again.
Their father was waiting for them, under the supervision of three cops, who released him after Sano-nii signed whatever they wanted.
“Hey, you two.” He grimaced. His hands were covered in bandages, and one eye was purple and swelling.
“You’re a wreck, Papa.” She hated how her voice sounded so pitiful, and she opened the water bottle for him. “You’ve caused so much trouble. Here, drink up, and let’s go home.”

“Saito-san proposed.” Tokio-san casually said, when they bought coffee. A red maple leaf caught in her bun and she nonchalantly removed it.
Uki’s eyes widened. “You just had your one-year anniversary! Why is he rushing?”
“He might get a job in Hokkaido.”
“Then, are you going with him?”
“I said I would think it over.”
Uki blew out a breath, and watched how the steam evaporated in the cool air. “Marriage, huh? That’s a big step.”
“For you, maybe. You’re twenty-two. You have plenty of time.” Tokio-san was ten years older.
“If I ever met anyone. Katsu is the only one I see on a semi-regular basis, and I’d never marry a NEET. So, do you not feel ready?”
“No, I am.” She admitted, as they walked into the bustling hospital lobby. “But I like my job too.”
They had the day shift now, and some of the infants were just waking up. After greeting the other nurses, Uki checked on the little ones. Most of them were doing well, and she cooed encouragement. “Good morning, everyone. Let’s work hard today.”
Then, Tokio-san tapped her shoulder. “I just got a call. C-section for twins, 32 weeks. You and I are going to retrieve them.”
“Alright.”
They hurried to the operating room, wheeling two spare incubators. Tokio-san accepted the first child and began to work methodically. Uki quickly took the second, and she carefully inserted the breathing tube. There, the baby gasped, and Uki smiled. The next few hours would be critical, but she had helped welcome this tiny life.
After they transported the infants to the NICU, Tokio-san spoke. “I’ve decided. I refuse to quit and move to Hokkaido.”
“What will your boyfriend say?”
“He’ll have to deal with it. He’s a grown man, that shouldn’t be a problem.” It apparently wasn’t, because on Monday, Tokio-san was pink-cheeked. “Saito-san said that he’s staying here after all.”
Uki threw her hands up in celebration. “Then, is it time to look at wedding gowns? Or are you having a Japanese-style wedding?”
Tokio-san brushed it off, saying she hadn’t said yes to him yet. But it was clear that she would, and Uki was happy for her.

Ota was being bullied, and since Papa was late for the parent-teacher meeting, Uki arrived in his stead. The bully’s parents denied any wrongdoing, and she grew irritated. She didn’t realize that she had raised her voice and the argument had turned into an outright screaming match. She only saw red, refusing to calm down even as other teachers had to drag the parties apart.
“Those people need to relearn manners! How could they be so mean to a cute young lady like me?” She huffed, as they walked back to the car.
“But, thank you, Uki-nee.” Ota said.
“I’m your sister, that’s what I do. And you have to tell me when things like this happen. If you stay quiet, I can’t help.” He nodded, and she readjusted his scarf for him with a sigh. “It’s so cold, but not enough to snow.”
“Mm.”
“What should we have for dinner?”
“Soba.”
“Good idea.” And she was reminded of Tokio-san, who cooked the dish often. Saito-san liked the buckwheat noodles. But lately, Tokio-san had been quieter than usual, and Uki had not heard her mention her husband for a while.
The following day, she noticed her friend’s eyes were red. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” Then, they both looked up as the door opened.
Saito-san strode over. There was a weariness in his expression, when Uki inspected him closer. “Tokio.”
“Hajime?” She glanced at Uki, before saying to her husband. “We can talk outside.” But she had forgotten her coat, and Uki went to give it to her. She stopped short though, for she could hear them through the door.
Saitou-san’s voice drifted out. “You’ve been upset since this morning, and I want to know why.”
“You know why. We hardly see each other, and when we do, we never talk. I miss you, even when you’re right there.”
There was a pause. “Work has been busy.”
“So am I. And yet, we have to make time for each other.”
“I’ll try.” He said at last.
“You will?”
“Yes. Because I love you.” He said it like a fact; it wasn’t romantic at all.
Tokio-san shakily answered. “I love you too. But we need to do more than this.”
“I know.”
Uki remembered herself and slowly backed away. It was just in time, because her phone suddenly vibrated. “Ota?” She asked.
“Hi, Uki-nee. Do you need anything from the supermarket?”
“The supermarket? Are you there?” She heard chatter in the background. “Look, don’t worry about it. I’ll stop by after I leave, so you can go home. Sano-nii is working overtime today, but Papa should be finished soon.” Their father drove vegetables and woven baskets from the countryside.
There was a shuffling noise, as if Ota shook his head. “It’s okay. I should help out more, around the house. I’m not a little kid, you don’t have to take care of me all the time.” He was right.
She exhaled. “Hang on, I wrote down a list earlier and I’ll read it to you.”

Cherry blossoms were outside Papa’s hospital room. He had sprained his ankle, and Uki desperately needed a break. She fluffed his pillow and checked his vitals, anything to busy her mind. “Have you been crying?” Papa asked her.
“It’s allergies.” She lied and blew her nose into a tissue. She’d have to redo her makeup later.
“If you say so.” He leaned back, waiting.
“One of the babies didn’t make it. Organ failure. I’m not usually like this!” She defended. “Tokio-san’s hormonal, because now she’s pregnant and she already has Eiji, the little boy she adopted with Saito-san. Anyway, the parents cried, then she cried, and I cried because of her. Saito-san took her home early though, so here I am. Once I feel better, I have to go back.”
“If it hurts, why are you working as a nurse?”
"I want to be here. This is the hospital that took care of Mama, until the very end. And I’m always minding you, Sano-nii, and Ota. At least, babies are cute and they give nothing but love. It’s so rough, when we lose one."
“That’s because you care so much.”
“It’s not a bad thing!” She snapped.
“Of course not.” He ruffled her hair. “If you didn’t, we’d be helpless. You’ve done a good job, putting up with this old man and your brothers. So, don’t forget that caring is what you do best. That’s why you can keep going on, even when your work is tough.”
Damn it, now she was tearing up again. “Why can’t you say more things like that?”
“Uh…” He coughed.
“Knock, knock.” Sano-nii drawled as he entered. Ota tailed him, carrying a duffel bag. “Good grief, I couldn’t believe it when I heard you were the patient.”
“Well, it’s not like I wanted to be here. Tch, now I can’t drive. And aren’t you supposed to be working?”
“I’m on lunch break, I might as well spend it here. You’ve got a nice view from your window, and Ota wanted to drop off bento boxes.”
“Here, Uki-nee.” Ota handed her one. “You should eat too.”
“Thanks. We should eat fast, you need to get back to school.”
As they ate, they bickered and raised their voices often and laughed too loudly. It wasn’t exactly a flower viewing, but she was with her family, and that made it alright.

Yamamoto Yaeko - Heroic defender of Aizu

In autumn 1868 the domain of Aizu, Japan, was under attack by the imperial troops. Women within the castle actively took part in the defense. 
They prepared ammunition, cooked meals, nursed the wounded, but also risked their lives in extinguishing the fires and rushed to cover the enemy canon balls with wet mats before they exploded. Young girls also collected the enemy ammunition for the defenders to reuse it. A 60 years old woman went out of the castle to retrieve food, but encountered an enemy soldier on the way. She stabbed him with her dagger and safely went back to the castle. A female bodyguard unit also protected Matsudaira Teruhime, the lord’s sister.
Some of them also fought. A contemporary witness depicts them as ready to don their white kimono and fight naginata  in hand. An observer also said that they shared all the men’s burden, took on watches and shouldered a rifle if needed.
Among them was Yamamoto Yaeko (1845-1932), who distinguished herself through her leadership and her skills with firearms, though she wasn’t the only woman to use  them in the defense. She was the daughter of an artillery instructor and her brother Kakuma had taught her to use firearms. She was particularly competent, being able to use recent models like the Spencer rifle and had also learned to fight with a naginata. 
On October 8, Yaeko began to take part in night sorties. She had asked another female defender, Takagi Tokio, to cut her hair short like a male samurai. Armed with her Spencer rifle, she was dressed like a man and had two swords at her belt. She also commanded the men in charge of one of the cannons and didn’t abandon her post, even as cannon balls rained on the castle.
In spite of this fierce resistance, Aizu surrender on November 5, 1868. In an ultimate gesture of defiance, Teruhime ordered the women to clean the whole castle in order to humiliate the enemy as soon as they would set a foot in it and to show that the Aizu spirit was still unbroken. 
When the castle fell, Yaeko was made prisoner with the men. After being freed, she divorced from her first husband went to Kyoto to find her brother Kakuma. There, she met and married Nijima Jô, converted to Christianity and helped him to found Doshisha university. She later became a nurse for the Red Cross and served as such during the Russo-Japanese war in 1905. Another woman who fought in Aizu’s defense, Yamakawa Futaba, also became a promoter of women’s education.

Today, a statue of Yamamoto Yaeko can be seen in Aizu. There’s also a TV-show based on her life: Yae no Sakura.

Saito Hajime's second wife, Takagi Tokio
Here, I would like to introduce Takagi Tokio-san, a woman who was Saito Hajime's second marriage partner.
The femininity of a young lady and the boldness of a samurai’s wife
Saito Hajime's second marriage was in the 7th year of the Meiji era. His wife's name was Takagi Tokio.
Tokio-san was the eldest daughter of the Ometsuke Takagi family of the Aizu clan, and would have been a venerable samurai lady if the shogunate hadn’t collapsed. Before the war, she was also a scribe (yuhitsu) for Teruhime, the sister of the Aizu feudal lord, Matsudaira Katamori.
In addition, Tokio-san was a person who had a strong relationship with the famous Yamamoto Yae. During the Battle of Aizu, it was Tokio-san who cut her hair just before Yae set out for a night attack. It was an episode that was introduced in the 2013 Taiga drama, but it was a true story.
She couldn't fight with a gun like Yae-san, but Tokio joined the struggle to rescue the wounded in the siege in Aizu.
In addition, the bodies of the war dead in the Battle of Aizu were not allowed to be buried by the new government for half a year and were exposed in the open, but when the permission for burial was finally given, Tokio-san helped bury the dead bodies. It was said that she also made an effort. Half a year after death... it's scary to imagine...
Tokio-san was a very feminine person, but she was also a samurai’s daughter. She had guts.
“Fujita” of Fujita Goro is Tokio's maternal surname
After the war, the people of Aizu were relocated to Tonami, but due to food shortages and harsh climates, they were forced to live a very difficult life there. It seemed that people starved to death one after another.
Tokio also lived in this Tonami area for several years.
She moved to Tokyo around the 7th year of the Meiji era. It was around this time that she married Saito Hajime, who moved to Tokyo at the same time.
After the war, Saito changed his name to Yamaguchi Jiro, Ichinose Dempachi, etc., but after he married Tokio, he began calling himself Fujita Goro. The name of Fujita Goro was given to Matsudaira Katamori. Fujita is Tokio's mother's surname, so he may have been named after that.
The matchmakers are former Aizu lords and elders
By the way, the matchmakers of Saito and Tokio's marriage were Matsudaira Katamori, who was the lord of Aizu, and Sagawa Kanbei, Yamakawa Hiroshi, and Kurasawa Heijiemon, who were also Aizu clan chief retainers. That's right.
Maybe it's because of the marriage of the Takagi family's daughter, but I feel that the relationship between Saito and Aizu is very strong.
When this happens, is the name Saito Hajime, which he called himself in the Shinsengumi, his real name? It makes me wonder (laughs)
Anyway, after that, Tokio-san had three children with Saito... no, Fujita Goro, and she stayed with him until he died at home in 1918.

There were three kinds of swords Hyousuke used: A wakizashi, uchigatana, or a nodachi. When he was a wandering samurai, traveling alone (with Kyoko), just lost in his own thoughts, he use to carry all three of those swords in their scabbards. One purely made for battle, one for honor, and one for protection.
The wakizashi he carried was the sword he stole from his biological father of the Tadahiro clan that also had the electro vision embedded into it. The sword was the Hizen Tadahiro, which was also his biological father’s most treasured sword that passed on for generations that he would also always use for battle and mass murder. Hyousuke used this for battle before the blade severed from when he fought the Raiden Shogun. He has no intention to ever go back for the severed blade.
The uchigatana he carried was the Kijinmaru Kunishige sword. It was a sword that his adoptive father Hajime Saito had used in battle for honor. It was given to Arataki Itto from Hajime to pass onto Hyousuke when Hajime had fallen in battle. This would be Hyousuke’s main blade that he started using after the Hizen Tadahiro had severed.
The nodachi he carried was originally his adoptive mother Takagi Tokio’s blade, whom she entrusted to Yae Miko to give to Hyousuke when the time comes. The nodachi was known as the Ishikiri, representing protection. Hyousuke doesn’t use this sword for battle but merely for protection. When in doubt, instead of using the sharp side of the blade to fight back, he would use the blunt side as he has no intention to kill with this sword, considering it was made to protect. Although he sometimes jokes about catching fish with it in which he would be stabbing the fish to catch them. Hyousuke usually keeps the nodachi at home.
Hyousuke also carries a few hidden weapons on him as well as a tanto for back up.

After winning an official Pokémon World Championships battle, the Emanation Pokémon Riolu is feeling like a million bucks. Pikachu is jealous guys! How. This feels weird considering his incredible bond with Satoshi but, oh my lord Riolu really is doing what I said as a joke: “This boi is mine now!“ Oh dear... Pikachu what’s going on sweet lil baby.. wait the scene where Riolu comes out of its Pokeball when Pikachu was ready to battle Galarian Kamonegi/Farfetch’d  in NS027 was a foreshadowing?!?!
August 2nd: NS031 - Hinbass and the Pretty Scale
Sota has come to Satoshi and Go for advice. He explains that his friend Nami is feeling bad because everyone keeps telling her her Pokémon isn't any cute. The Pokémon in question is a Hinbass, which is said to be the shabbiest Pokémon in the world. However, Nami and Hinbass aim to win the Water Type Pokémon Friendship Contest, since the truth is that Hinbass hides an amazing secret. August 9th: PM2019 032 - Celebi: A Timeless Promise
Three years ago, Go met a young boy named Tokio on a family trip to Hiwada Town in the Jouto region. Tokio was searching for the Mythical Pokémon Celebi, and the two kindred spirits decided to search for it together, but Celebi turned out to not be all that easy to find. The two of them parted ways, promising to meet up again the next day to continue their search, but Tokio never showed up at the spot they had promised to meet that day. Flash forward to present day, when Go once again visits Hiwada Town and ends up encountering... I reaaaaally hope this ends up giving background story to why Gou’s hesistant on making friends, because it sounds like a perfect scenario. If it does, I’ll probably end up liking the episode.
Sidenote, where is Iwane? This is the longest gap between Iwane animated episodes in a looooong long time, which is now 8 episodes? If I’m calculating correctly. Huh. He’s still active on twitter so he’s all well but... hm.

GÉNERO: FANTASÍA, AVENTURAS.
Nadie dijo que crecer fuera fácil. Sobre todo para aquellos que tienen que hacerlo de forma drástica y prematura. La película comienza mostrándonos a un niño destrozado y solitario que se topa con un extraño e irreverente hombre-oso al que tomará como maestro.
Es por ello que nuestro protagonista se verá obligado a abandonar las saturadas calles de Tokio para emprender un viaje de aprendizaje y realización personal, adentrándose en un mundo fantástico habitado por divertidas criaturas que sacarán nuestro lado más humano, al más puro estilo Miyazaki.
El director, Mamoru Hosoda, consigue retratar (de forma hábil y alejada de clichés) una relación maestro-alumno al más puro estilo Karate Kid: un vínculo basado en la reciprocidad, y del que ambos saldrán beneficiados e innegablemente más maduros. Una buena revisión de los tropos del género que, sin duda, es lo mejor de la película.
Pero no es oro todo lo que reluce.
La historia resulta amena, emotiva y cautivante. Sin embargo, personajes secundarios poco profundos y antagonistas demasiado improvisados la hacen desembocar en un final algo previsible e intrascendente.
Tal vez, la comparación hecha por la prensa sobre el director con el sensei Miyazaki eleve demasiado las expectativas y juegue en su contra.
