Oh, he absolutely adores your antics

While you'll never really take him by surprise, he will feign a small reaction just to humor you

Every time you hug or climb on his back, a small smile always makes his way on his face.

He absolutely loves it, it always makes his heart swell

He also thinks it's very funny how you just randomly decide to climb on him whenever you feel like it

His reaction doesn't differ whether you do it privately or in public. You're always met with a small smile and a light chuckle from him, always amused by it.

Though he will admit it is a bit embarrassing when you do it in front of other people.

Still, he won't stop you. He finds your smile and laughter as you cling on him much more rewarding.

Keiji Shinogi

Like Kai, Keiji is also very amused by your antics

And unlike Kai, you have a chance of taking him by surprise!

When you surprise him, he makes a little "oh" sound before realizing it's you and chuckling at your tomfoolery.

He's a very big guy so you just know he's fun to climb on like a jungle gym

He thinks you are so silly

And he absolutely lives for your antics

So please, hug him and climb all over him, he loves it

One of his favorite activities he's come to expect from you is coming home from work and you rushing to jump on his back to welcome him

He is very enamored by your silliness, and it always brightens up his day

Joe Tazuna

Just saying, be prepared to topple over when you decide you want to climb on him

He WILL fall over every single time you jump on his back

Despite that, he very much enjoys your antics

And every time you do knock him over, it always ends in laughter from him

Just a quick note: I don't have a lot of experience with eating disorders so if anything that I wrote is wrong or offensive, please let me know so I can fix it. I would rather be told than have harmful content on my page. Please remember to take care of yourself, and I hope this brings you some comfort.

Warnings: Eating disorders (specifically bulimia). I tried not to be too detailed, but there are some more specific parts so proceed with caution

Sara Chidouin

-Sara's pretty quick to notice that something's up, especially if you're losing weight at a rapid pace and/or not eating in front of her

-She doesn't want to assume anything at first, but if she continues to see concerning signs regarding your health, she'll confront you

-When approaching you about what she's noticed, she tiptoes around the subject a little because she doesn't want to make you uncomfortable, but eventually she'll ask you outright if you have an eating disorder

-Sara sits with you and listens quietly as you explain what bulimia is and what it's like to have it, hugging you or holding your hand if you get visibly upset while talking

-She appreciates your honesty, but she's also really worried for you. She knows what you're doing isn't healthy and that if this continues you could really damage your body

-While she doesn't want to upset you, she highly encourages you to make an attempt at a recovery. She knows it'll be hard, but she wants you to be able to live a long healthy life, she can't bear the thought of losing you

-If you agree to try and recover, she pledges to be right by your side the whole time. If you don't, she'll probably tell a counselor or a professional about your struggles. While she's normally respectful of your wishes, she refuses to let you suffer like this anymore, she's going to get you help regardless

-Sara does a ton of research on bulimia after the two of you talk, she wants to be as supportive and as helpful as possible while you try to recover

-She also understands that recovery isn't quick, and it isn't always linear. She knows their will be days where you may relapse, or days where you won't be able to eat much if at all, but she's staying by your side no matter what happens

-She's aware that typically you binge eat a lot of food before throwing it up, so she decides to try and get you to eat a little bit of food everyday without purging it later

-You don't have to eat it in front of her, and she totally understands if you're unable to keep it down, she just figures that smaller portions of food may be easier for you to process at first

-If it's easier for you to digest, Sara will make smoothies or other healthy drinks for you to have. It may not be the same as solid food, but if it's easier to process then it's a good way to help you regain some nutrients

-If there's a certain type of food that's easier for you to eat, she'll have Kai make it for you. She won't tell him why if you would rather him not know, she's just not the best cook herself so it'll most likely be better if he makes it

-As time goes on, she'll slowly add more food to each meal (not a ton at once though) until you're able to eat full meals with less issue than before

-If you end up relapsing, she won't blame you at all. She'll sit with you and embrace you as you cry, assuring you that she's proud of you and that you're still making progress

-She still encourages you to talk to a professional, but she understands if that's not something you want to do right away

-As she's said before, she sticks with you throughout your whole recovery, and she's very proud of you no matter what happens

Joe Tazuna

-He can kinda tell somethings up, but he doesn't know what. All he knows is that your moods dropped and he wants to know why

-He's pretty blunt when he approaches you about it, he doesn't yet know the severity of what your dealing with so he just thinks you've been a little down for awhile

-I don't think he'd know what bulimia is, so you're going to have to explain it to him as well as how severe it is

-He feels so bad once he understands what's happening, not only because he approached you so suddenly about it, but also because he didn't notice the extent of what was going on before now

-He feels like he failed as a partner for not noticing sooner, so he resolves to make up for it by putting as much energy as he can towards helping you

-He tries to get you to eat more, but he doesn't downsize the portion of food he gives you

-You're going to have to really get it through his brain that you can't keep that much food down

-He's trying, he just doesn't really get it yet. He thinks if you can just eat the food without throwing up then everything's peachy, he doesn't understand the phycological factor

-Once he fully understands what's going on, he'll ask Sara for advice. He's worried he'll end up hurting you when he's trying to help you

-He gets Kai to cook you small but nutritious meals, he hopes they'll be easier for you to eat and keep down, but he's understanding if you can't

-He'll probably talk with an adult who would know how to help you because he knows he's nowhere near experienced enough to help you effectively

-He's better at emotional comfort than helping you directly with your bulimia, again he tries but he's not an expert

-He'll snuggle with you on particularly rough days, promising you that it'll get better and that he's here for you until it does

-If you developed the eating disorder because of poor body image issues, he assures you that he loves you and that he doesn't care what your body looks like, he just wants you to be happy and healthy

-If it helps you eat, he'll sit with you and talk to you about anything: his day, schoolwork, a funny story he wants to tell you, anything that may help distract you from thinking about eating negatively

-He tries to make you smile as often as possible. He also tries to make you feel like the most beautiful/handsome person in the world (because to him you are) and he wants you to know how wonderful he thinks you are

-Like Sara, he'll be with you the whole time you're recovering, and even though he may not be the most helpful at times, he loves you and wants you to be happy

(Y/N) woke up with an empty feeling in his chest, letting his gaze wander around the unfamiliar room. There was not a single thought in his head, he didn't even acknowledge what he saw.

The boy's brain initially did an amazing job at keeping the memories away from him, proving by the nothingness going on inside of him.

But sooner or later, it was forced to reboot, consciousness dripping through his body. He felt cold. Or why was his body shaking? "Sara...", first instincts brought her name to his lips. Sara, his older sister, was always there at the utter of her name.

Silence was the only thing responding to his whisper, so he tried again, louder this time, "Sara?" But there was nothing, again. And yet again, he gazed around the room, registering some silhouettes in the darkness.

There seemed to be a chair, no, make that two chairs. And maybe some lamps? It was hard to tell by the shapes. After contemplating about wether the shape on the wall next to him was a lamp or not for way too long, he finally started waking up more.

„ Wait..."

„Oh? So you finally remembered, little brother?"

After leaving the girl to recuperate, Sara confronted Joe about his feelings for the girl. For the rest of the day, Joe contemplated his own nightmares and feelings for MC.

"Sara... (Y/n)..." Bullets of sweat came rolling down his fair face as he uttered those names. He stood there before everyone else, the large grin on his face contrasting the expressions of his companions.

"This isn't real... It's just..."

"Sorry... I even tricked you two," the boy apologized, forcing his tone to be upbeat as ever. Though, as soon as his chocolate hues opened, the fear and agony were shown for everyone to see, a clear giveaway of his situation.

"Joe... Stop it...! I don't believe it... I..." the girl known as Sara exclaimed, her eyes brimming with salty tears. Soon, her voice faltered as she trembled like a fragile child.

Joe only watched as his best friend was trying her best not to fall to the floor, his face full of grief over this unfortunate outcome. Turning his attention to the other girl he had known since middle school, the brunette's jubilant facade immediately contorted into those of despair.

"This is a lie... right?" 

A stream of salty tears came cascading down from the girl's dull (e/c), lips parted and quivering. Slowly raising her heavy head, she faced the boy who was about to meet his demise. "J-Joe...? Please... this has to be a joke... right?"

"Sara, (Y/n), you two didn't vote for me," Joe said, forcing another bright grin to settle on his face — to convince his best friends that everything will be alright, despite the very obvious. "...That's what made it clear."

"I..."

"All of you guys are my friends," he declared, smiling one of his infamous closed-eye smiles. Then, slowly opening his lids halfway, his brows creased while regarding his beloved with a bittersweet smile dedicated only to her. "So...work together and do your best."

"Joe... Joe... D-don't leave me...! Please tell me that this is just a joke! Please! Someone! Anyone! Just...!"

"Last... There's something I wanna say. Sure enough... It's hard for a guy and a girl to say this sorta stuff to each other, huh...?" Joe awkwardly chuckled, rubbing his nape while briefly glancing at both girls. Collecting all of his courage, he conveyed his feelings for the two people he holds dearly. "I love ya, Sara! I love ya, (Y/n)! You two are my best friends!!"

Quiet sniffs turned to sobs. Sobs turned to wails. The two girls whom Joe was friends with ever since middle school became a mess upon hearing his last words. Sara's knees buckled and she fell to the floor. The poor girl was hugging her trembling body, her attention fixated solely on her friend. Meanwhile, (Y/n) stood still in her spot beside the brunette. Her complexion was as pale as a ghost and she remained motionless, however, her waterfall of tears and her pain-stricken face was an indication of her predicament.

"Yes, yes, it's over already. Eheehee," the blasted shrill voice of the floor master cut through the heavy atmosphere. A condescending sneer was plastered on her face, situated above the rest of the group just to look down on their pathetic selves. "Kai Satou, chosen by vote, will be the main event. Whereas you're the opening act. Hurry up and die."

"No... No... No...! No...! No!!!"

"Hey... Hey... Hey!" 

Snapping her eyelids open, the mentioned female heaved a heavy breath upon being awoken from her slumber. The bright light of the room immediately invaded her eyes and she forced her lids shut, groaning in pain and discomfort. It took the girl a few moments before she collects herself from whatever happened prior.

"H-hey! Are you alright (Y/n)?" a soft feminine voice broke the girl out of her trance.

The (h/l) (h/c)-haired girl whipped her head towards the sound, and there by her side were two familiar faces — a young man with spiky brown hair and chocolate eyes and a young woman with an almond ponytail and amethyst hues. Confusion instantly formed on the (h/c)ette's face, and she briefly rubbed her eyes and glanced around, realizing that the furniture indicates the room she was in was a bedroom. Her bedroom, to be precise.

"Wh... Joe...? Sara...?" she asked in disbelief. "Why are you two... here?"

A frown settled itself unto the boy's lips, crossing his arms. "What do you mean? Did you forget that we promised to visit you on the weekends? Today's one of them."

"Don't blame her, Joe; it isn't (Y/n)'s fault that she had a high fever the days before," Sara scolded the boy before focusing on her. A gentle smile was on the brunette's face as she took the towel off her forehead and feel her temperature. "Are you feeling okay, (Y/n)? You were quite in a difficult situation when you were sleeping earlier: labored breathing, red face, and bullets of sweat. Joe and I panicked when we entered your room and saw you in that state."

"I... I think I feel a bit okay."

The teen sighed in relief, standing up from the edge of the bed. "I'll go and tell Kai-san that you woke up. We will be preparing your food."

"Okay, thanks, Sara," (Y/n) meekly called on her.

"It's no problem," Sara smiled back, stopping by the doorframe. Before she left, she glanced at the other brunette in the room and met his gaze. "Watch over her, Joe."

"That goes without saying, Sara," he replied, giving her the thumbs up as she left the room and closed the door behind her.

Now turning his attention to the sick girl still laying on her bed, Joe's smile disappeared and was replaced with a frown. He took a few steps towards her and slowly sat on the edge of the bed. Brown irises scrutinize his best friend's appearance, especially her face which was littered with sweat. Her gaze was somewhere else as her mind was adrift as well. 

"Hey," he called softly. "Is something wrong?" 

"Huh?" (Y/n) snapped out of her trance at his call, shifting her attention to the worried male beside her. 

Joe sighed. "Your body is slightly trembling and you are sweating so much. I don't think that fever can make you uneasy like this, ya know?" 

"O-oh... I'm sorry for making you worry," she averted her eyes in shame, biting her lower lips

"Hey, it's fine, (Y/n). It's not your fault that you got sick," Joe reassured, quirking a gentle smile. 

Taking the discarded towel from her side, he faced the bedside table and dipped it into the provided basin with cold water. After he wrung the water out, he returned to her side and helped her sit up. He leaned closer to the (h/c)ette and carefully wiped the sweat from her face with the cold towel. This gesture, however, made the girl blush. 

"You don't have to do this, Joe." 

"It's fine. I don't want you getting cold sweat or else you'll worsen, you know?" he grinned, finishing up his task and rinsing the towel after. 

(Y/n)'s red-hued face was returning to her normal complexion, though her heartbeat was still racing. She glanced down and muttered, "Thanks, Joe." 

"It's no problem," returning to his seat by her bedside, Joe regarded the girl with a serious expression. "So, can you tell me what's bothering you?" 

Silence enveloped the two shortly after. Despite Joe's happy-go-lucky attitude, he is extremely observant and can be serious at times. Although (Y/n) likes him because of that, she was still taken by surprise by his bluntness. Seeing that she can trust him with her secret, she exhaled and prepared herself to confess.

"I...I had a nightmare," Joe's brown eyes widened a bit at her words, but wordlessly prompted her to continue. The girl let out a shaky breath and glanced outside her windows, avoiding Joe's firm gaze. "In my nightmare, I saw... you and Kai-san die."

Joe listened attentively to (Y/n)'s story. With every shaky breath, the (h/c)-tressed teen explained what she had experienced for the past nights. Her heart began speeding up upon remembering the memory, (e/c) hues starting to tear up. Though before she could fully break down, Joe immediately embraced the girl to comfort her. He whispered countless reassurance to her while patting her back. (Y/n) calmed down a bit, although her face was still red from earlier.

"I...I'm scared, Joe... I don't know why but that nightmare felt so real," she hiccupped, burying her face in Joe's neck for security and assurance. Her trembling limbs were gripping the boy's clothes tightly, afraid that he might disappear any moment. 

"Ssh... It's gonna be okay... Everything is gonna be okay," the brunette coaxed, lovingly patting her soft tresses and her back. "I'm real. And I'm safe. See? You can touch me right now, right? The same goes for Kai-san as well. We won't leave you, (Y/n)."

"R-really?"

"Really," gently pulling back, Joe stared at the girl's (e/c) orbs. He sported a gentle smile as he wiped her tears away. Then, he caressed her flushed cheeks with his fingers.  "Nothing's gonna hurt me or Kai-san. We're not gonna die on you, either."

"Promise?" She asked, her eyes hopeful.

"Promise."

After that, the sick female finally calmed down. Joe's smile widened a bit when she regained her cheerful demeanor. Although her face has evidence of her earlier breakdown, her cheeks retain the red hue, and her eyes are swollen and glassy. Nevertheless, the teenage male was glad that he was there to comfort his best friend. After a minute, both of them heard the door opening and two individuals entered the room.

 "You're finally here, Sara. Hey, Kai-san," Joe glanced at the approaching duo, his grin present on his face.

Kai nodded in his direction as he placed the meal on the table near (Y/n)'s bed. Joe stood up from the bed to let Kai do his work. And as for Sara, she was holding a basin of fresh towels and cold water. When she got closer to the other girl, she instantly noticed the (h/c)ette's red and puffy eyes. Her gaze narrowed though she remained silent.

After that short conversation with his best friend, Joe went down into the living to lounge in the meantime. He casually laid on one of the many sofas, playing with his dog keychain which was gifted to him by the young mistress of this household. Thoughts about (Y/n)'s earlier revelation came flooding his mind, troubling him greatly.

"Hey," a feminine voice said as footsteps came close to Joe. Sara stopped behind the couch and leaned on it, peering down at her best friend who briefly glanced at her. "What happened earlier?" 

The boy sighed and plastered a small cheeky smile on his face. "Took you long enough. I thought you weren't gonna ask what happened between us."

"Please, I'm not dumb nor dense," the pony-tailed girl scoffed, rolling her eyes playfully at him. "Anyway, tell me what happened. I could sense that something weird was with you two. Don't tell me you've made (Y/n) cry, Joe."

Despite her obvious joke, Sara received a slight glare coming from Joe. "You know that I'll never do such a thing, Sara. I care for (Y/n) so much that I don't want to make her cry."

"It's just a joke... Anyway, we've got time so speak up," she sighed, pushing her body off the sofa as Joe sat up.

Sara walked around the sofa and sat beside her best friend. Her violet eyes were glued to the brunette beside her, silence enveloping them while she waited for Joe to speak up. Meanwhile, the said male let out a heavy sigh and leaned against the couch, staring at the ceiling above. He raised his hand which still held the dog keychain, his eyes dropping halfway as his conversation with his crush replayed in his head.

"(Y/n) told me about her nightmare. She said that in her dreams, she saw my and Kai-san's apparent death," Joe paused for a breather, peering at the female beside him to see her listening attentively. "She said that she and you were there watching us die..."

Once Joe finished his short summary of (Y/n)'s troubles from earlier, silence immediately surrounds the two brunettes. Sara took a while to comprehend his words while Joe continued playing with the keychain. After a while, a loud sigh sliced through the air.

"Do you think that (Y/n) was afraid of losing you two that she developed nightmares like that?"

Joe pursed his lips in thought. "Maybe..."

A brief silence ensued after. The atmosphere was gloomy after that revelation. Joe closed his eyes and exhaled, trying to let out his frustrations and troubles through that. It was evident by his furrowed brows and frown that whatever he is thinking or feeling greatly concerned him.

"Hey, Sara. Could you hear me out?"

"Sure."

"Promise me not to laugh, okay?"

"Of course."

At that, Joe gulped and gathered all of his courage to speak, although his anxiety was evident by the sweat rolling down his face. Nevertheless, he, too, confided in his best friend. "I... I had a similar dream to (Y/n)'s."

Violet eyes widened a bit at his revelation, staring in belief. Sara had always known that Joe is an upbeat and positive person, though oftentimes, she can't help but worry about the two whenever they are not their usual selves. Although hearing his words, she still finds it hard to believe.

"Really?"

Joe nodded. "In my dream, the same events happened. Though, I saw everything from my perspective. I saw you two standing next to each other, shock and horror present on both of your faces. There were others more present, but their faces are blurry that I can't clearly remember them."

The male let off an awkward chuckle afterward, covering his eyes by resting his arms on top. Just remembering the nightmare itself was enough to make the brunette grow anxious by the minute. He totally understood what (Y/n) felt... because he, too, experienced the same. Meanwhile, the pony-tailed female watched Joe in silence. Although she can't comprehend anything that happened to both of her best friends, she was still upset that it was grave enough to trouble both of them. If Joe didn't tell her about (Y/n)'s condition and if he didn't confide in her, maybe she'll never know whatever troubles them at all.

"I told you two how precious you guys are to me... that no matter what, you two will always be my best friends," the male's voice wavered at the end, his breathing unsteady as he shakily exhaled. He could still feel his heart thumping aggressively against his chest, the surreal feeling of those tubes stuck to his flesh and draining him of blood sent shivers down his spine. Nevertheless the feeling, he continued. "I died because of blood loss; my death was painful and slow. And during all that, I saw you and (Y/n) trying so hard to save me from my impending death. It hurts seeing you in such a state, you know? And as for Kai-san, I could've sworn I saw him commit suicide and slit his wrists with a knife. "

There was a brief silence after that. Sara's crestfallen eyes trailed down to her palm, watching the steadiness of her hands compared to Joe's trembling ones. Others may consider Joe and (Y/n)'s story as absurd or just a mere nightmare, but Sara knew better than that. There are endless possibilities that it may be a premonition of something, and Sara isn't gonna stay ignorant of that fact and brush it off as a mere coincidence.

"Do you think that your and (Y/n)'s nightmares are somehow related to you two?" She asked, concern lacing her tone.

Joe just shrugged his shoulders. "Who knows..."

"Hm... Maybe those dreams are like alternate universes. Maybe they appeared to you two for a reason," she explained to which the male just nodded. Sara sighed.

Silence once again enveloped the two. And after a few minutes, the male spoke up. "And yeah, after that, there's this one moment where I met you two for the last time. It was like my spirit showed itself to you two and comforted you guys. That feeling was like the last goodbye, you know?"

"Don't make it sound like you're really dying. (Y/n) would be sad if she heard of this," the brown-haired female scolded, jabbing Joe on his side which earned her a pained grunt.

"I-it's just a dream, Sara!"

The girl huffed, crossing her arms and eyeing Joe up and down. "Then..."

"Then...?" He quirked a confused brow, prompting the girl to continue.

An exasperated sigh escaped her lips, shaking her head in disappointment. "When are you gonna confess to (Y/n)?"

At that statement, Joe's face flared up, completely surprised by his best friend's proclamation. "W-w-where did you get the idea from?!"

"What do you mean? It's obvious that you like her. It's all evident with your actions towards her," Sara deadpanned. "Other people can clearly pick up the implications behind your gestures. It's really a miracle that (Y/n) hadn't noticed it yet."

"... I won't..." the flustered male shyly looked away, hiding away his red-hued face from the girl.

"Why not?"

"I don't believe that (Y/n) felt the same way that I do..." he gazed down his lap, brown hues containing a glint of sadness in them.

"It's better if you know yourself if she felt the same or not. Don't assume things, Joe."

However, instead of following her advice, Joe shook his head and stood up from the couch. He glanced back at the confused female and smiled sadly at her. "Sometimes, giving up is better than hopelessly pursuing."

At that, Sara watched as Joe exited the living room with his last statement echoing in the room. The girl blinked at the occurrence, baffled by the male's words and actions. Although she understood where he's coming from, she can't help but be infuriated with his attitude.

Sara sighed, face-palming. "That guy..."

"(Y/n)? You called for me?" A certain brunette asked, knocking on the open door.

As she heard his voice, the teen glanced at the person at her doorway. A smile plastered on her face as she motioned Joe to come in. The male entered the room and stopped just behind the girl. Curious about what she was doing on her desk, the brunette teen peered over the girl's shoulder. The sick girl was writing in her notebook, some words he could decipher which piqued his interest.

"What are you writing?"

"Oh, nothing much. I was just writing down whatever happened in my dream."

"Ohh... Why though? Isn't it uncomfortable if you were kept reminded of those nightmares?"

The girl sighed, leaning back on her chair, and glanced up. (E/c) eyes were met with brown ones, and after a while, Joe did his signature closed-eye grin. This prompted a small smile on the girl before she returned to her work, biting her lip.

"My nightmare started a few nights before. At first, it was just small clips and I can't see nor remember any clear images. However, recently, those dreams started to become longer and the images seem to be clear. The frequency of when it would appear also increased," (Y/n) explained. Soon, a frown was plastered on her lips, sighing in dismay. "I wanted to find the reason why I'm having these sorts of dreams. What do they mean? Why do I feel so affected by them? I was trying to see if it was just a coincidence or if it is connected to me... Some people do believe that dreams are manifestations of our inner desires or fears."

"Oh, I see. I'm not that smart to know that writing your dreams will help but I'm amazed that you've thought of that," the boy nodded, though he only gets the gist of her explanation. "Is that the reason why you called me though?"

The girl scratched her temple sheepishly, feeling nervous for some reason. A light blush decorated her cheeks, fiddling with her fingers. "Yes...? You're the only one that I'm comfortable with discussing this secret, Joe."

"Me? Why not Kai-san?"

(E/c) eyes dropped halfway, staring at the notebook. "Even though Kai-san is understanding and I trust him, it still feels different when I'm sharing this with you. It felt right that you're the one I told about this. It's like we're on the same wavelength, you know?"

Due to her sincere words, Joe's pale cheeks flared up. Butterflies started to flutter inside his stomach and his heart rate increased. Though, Joe covered his flustered state with a large grin. "Thanks, (Y/n)! I couldn't agree more!"

She chuckled at that. "You and Sara are planning to have a sleepover, right?"

"Yep~ And Kai-san agreed that we both can sleep in your room. Though I'll be sleeping on the floor with the provided futon and you girls will be on the bed."

"Will you be comfortable on the floor, Joe?" She frowned at him. "I mean, there's a lot of space in my bed for the three of us."

"You do know that it's inappropriate for a guy and a girl to share a bed if they're not intimate enough, right?" He said, averting his gaze elsewhere to hide his reddening blush. "Besides, I'll be fine on the floor, as long as none of you guys step on me."

The (h/c)ette snickered at his joke which made the boy even more flustered when hearing her laugh. Joe was glad that his best friend was feeling much better. Just the thought of them three spending time bonding together was enough to send a smile to his face.

"Thanks for everything, Joe. For being there for me and being my best friend."

Brown eyes softened, staring gently at the girl as he muttered. "Yeah..."

The bright moonlight seeped through the thin curtains of the mistress's room. Quiet stars twinkling above that decorated the evening skies. A certain male sat comfortably on the window sill, his gaze fixated on the giant white ball perched atop. It was already way past bedtime, and the two girls were already asleep on the bed. Seeing that he can't sleep, Joe decided to take this time to contemplate many things that transpired today.

Joe had a somber expression while watching the cityscape outside, his brown eyes trailing over everything he finds interesting. His thoughts wandered towards the girl he had a crush on, recalling the day he first met her and the times they had bonded until they are close enough to be called best friends. A minuscule smile appeared on his lips, his eyes gentle while a faint blush bloomed on his cheeks.

"I can't believe that it's almost five years since the three of us became friends," he murmured. "Time does fly when you're having fun."

However, his pleasant feeling didn't last long. As soon as his thoughts derailed towards the nightmares he and (Y/n) shared, his heart made a single aggressive beat before it raced inside his chest. The smile vanished and was replaced by a frown. A slight wrinkle was visible in between his eyebrows, eyes now containing a sorrowful glint. Joe took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, closing his eyes as he did so. Yet, despite his effort to calm himself, he could still feel the surreal horrors of his nightmare.

"Dammit..." Joe clutched his heart, feeling the pain of the tubes sucking his blood agonizingly slow. Sweat started to emerge on his face, his heart racing in fear. "Dying like that in my dream was really scary... but now, hearing how (Y/n) felt when seeing us die like that, I could only imagine how much suffering she had to go through."

Sighing out loud, Joe decided that it was enough contemplating for tonight. He stood up from the window sill, about to return to his futon when he stopped abruptly. His eyes landed on the sleeping form of his best friends, though his gaze was fixated on a particular (h/c)-tressed teen. He quietly made his way towards the bed, carefully sitting on the edge of the mattress.

Soft eyes lovingly observed the sleeping girl, seeing her peaceful breathing pattern. Slowly raising his hand, the male caressed her soft locks affectionately. (Y/n) stirred in her sleep, however, making him flinch and halted his actions. Joe remained motionless, his body tensed and pink smeared on his cheeks at his act. After a minute of waiting for something, the girl returned to sleep and he relaxed, continuing to pat his crush's head.

At this act, a tiny smile emerged on her lips, seemingly enjoying the affection. Joe sported the same smile as well before he leaned down to her. Closing both of his eyes, the brunette male planted a chaste kiss on the girl's forehead. He pulled back and caressed her cheeks, whispering the words that he doesn't have enough courage to say to her face-to-face.

"Even if you don't love me the same way as I do, I will always be there for you. I will stay by your side to make you happy and protect you. I will never let you go, (Y/n)... I love you."

"Don't give me that look," you plead, face falling as you turn back around from the window to face Joe. "I didn't make it rain, did I?"

"But..." If Joe was a puppy - and some days you reason there's only a stone's toss of a difference, really - his ears would be physically drooping. His eyes have grown twice their normal size, big, mournful brown pools as he stares outside. "I had a whole day planned..."

You sigh. "Tomorrow is also a day, isn't it?" you try to mollify, heading over and resting your chin on his shoulder. "It might not even rain all day, y'know? We can still go to that new ramen place for dinner, if we just grab an umbrella."

Joe mulls this over, still pouting. "I guess... stupid damn weather. Why does it have to ruin all my plans?" he gripes, shrugging you off and collapsing on his bed as though there was a weight of a thousand tonnes on his back. You stare down at him, amused.

You grab his gaming console off the bedside table, switching it on in earnest. Joe perks up slightly when he hears the familiar chime of his most recently-played game, like a dog seeing the mailman. You shuffle onto the bed beside him, cross-legged. The rain beats a light tattoo into the window above you, the sky overcast and swollen with dark grey clouds.

"...Whatcha doing?" Joe mumbles after a few moments, voice stifled slightly by the sky-blue comforter.

"Can't do this out in the rain, can you?" you shoot back, not taking your eyes off the screen.

"Jeez," Joe sighs, rolling on his side. "Just don't erase my saved data, okay? I'm almost breaking level thirty-three!"

"You've been almost breaking level thirty-three for two months now," you quip, beginning a new game.

"Hey!" Joe gapes, wounded. "Uh, mean! That was mean as hell! You come into my house, take my console, play my game, and you think you can give me attitude?"

You arch a brow at him. "You're so cute when you're mad."

Immediately, Joe's face is wiped of any pretence of annoyance; scarlet floods his cheekbones, and he ducks down to hide his expression behind his fall of auburn bangs with a groan. "Ah, shut up. Why d'you say things like that?"

"'Cause it's true, dummy." You poke his head affectionately. "C'mon, show me how to play this stupid thing. You know you're way better at it than me."

Joe peeks at you through his fingers, suitably mollified. "What's that? Did you just say I'm better at something than you? No way - I'm for sure hallucinating! You should say it again, just so I'm sure I'm—"

"Oh, shut up," you giggle, finally joining Joe's laughter as he wrestled the console from your grasp. He waves it in the air victoriously, his wide grin of triumph softening when you worm beneath his arms and tuck your head beneath his chin, back to his chest.

He's warm. He always runs so warm. You can feel the steady journey of his breath against your spine, the way he shuffles to adjust comfortably for you.

"You, erm—" He clears his throat slightly. "You ready?"

"Mhm," you affirm, fully content to just watch Joe play for the next hour or so. Maybe you'll call Sara and Ryoko later, invite them over for a movie night. Then again, it's nice, being just you and Joe for once.

"Hey," he says quietly, a half-hour in when you're beginning to grow drowsy. "Uh, thanks for cheerin' me up. I mean, I'm pretty disappointed we didn't get to do the day out, but..."

You snuggle into his chest. His heart beats a steady, strong rhythm against your cheek. "There's always tomorrow."

"Yeah," Joe grins, fingers tapping at the console. "Always tomorrow."

In which the YTTD cast deal with a teasing s/o who kisses them on the corners of their lips, saying if they passed their quiz, a proper kiss is to be held. Their reactions and feelings to this statement and action.

#Joe Tazuna (Determined Type, PASSES?? (barely))

For Joe, it was a normal day. It was all completely normal. He begged Sara for her homework during class, He gushed over you with Ryoko, and he went to his normal Kebab place.

Until it wasn't, because Holy Hell he dropped his mouth (and possibly his kebab?) when he saw you enter the restaurant.

It was as if he was running miles for hours, as his heart couldn't stop thumping and beating. (Sir, You sat down in this restaurant for around thirty minutes.)

Despite the cold and refreshing air in the diner, he could feel his palms sweating when you enter.

And to make matters worse, you sat on the table he was sitting at. Should he say something? What should he say? What should he say?

Head empty. He can't think of anything. Thankfully, You said something for him - "Tazuna, I was wondering something.."

He gaped his mouth, feeling his usual vibrant grin come up on his face. "Yo, (Name), what is it?" He asked.

"Do you like me?"

Silence was between the two. It was noisy in the diner, of course, but it felt time stop. His heart dropped. "...Heh. What made it so obvious?"

"To be completely honest with you, I din't even notice it until Ryoko told me." They admitted. Ryoko THAT SNITCH HOW DARE YOU

He could feel Ryoko snickering from her house. "Soooo...what are you gonna do about it? I just kinda un-directly confessed to ya, you know."

And you responded to his question, with a kiss on the corners of his lips. He felt like practically exploding.

"Ah- Wah..?! Ja- WHAT!?"

You grin at his flustered reaction. It really was how Sara described him. Despite him being so gaudy, he was awfully shy.

You pat him on the head. "I'll let you kiss me properly if you get a perfect score on your next quiz."

And after a few days, he did just that. He was extremely excited to tell you. So after you nodded to him that he could do it, he practically jumped on you like a puppy, ready to pamper you with kisses and smooches.

#Sara Chidouin (The one who doesn't even have to try to get a perfect score.)

Sara Chidouin, a name everyone knew in Sonobeno High-School. You knew her, of course. She was practically popular every grade level and campus.

Of course, both of you are acquaintances and were on good terms.

And to say you where shocked when she confessed to you was an understatement. You were practically bewildered, bedazzled, confused and brimming with joy.

Wow..... How should you respond? Like... a lengthy response which means "yes date me your hot lets kiss"

But then again, you want to surprise her. Bewilder her, like what she did to you so much times. The ones that made you happy, and indeed fall in love with her.

Despite her being so surprising, she was also very easy to read. And she's awfully -- quiet. She seems to be awaiting for your response.

So what to do you do?

Something that she likes doing, but something she sucks at doing. Like, the only thing she sucks at doing (asides from swimming.)

Her only weakness, physical affection.

Coming closer to her, you leave a peck on the corner of her honey dew lips. Taking a step back, Sara holds her cheek fondly.

She was red, extremely. A mischevious grin came up on your face, as you spoke the next words out of your mouth. "I'll let you kiss me properly if you get a perfect score on your next quiz."

...And she exactly did that with somehow 10 more extra points. I beg your pardon she got 100.10/100 and you are absolutely bewildered.

The next thing you know you were kissing her on your couch.

I'm sorry to say this man had no balls to confess to you. So you did that yourself (lmao) and you got tired of waiting.

So when you confessed to him, he froze for a second. "..Huh? C..Could you repeat it again?" He asked, not believing it in the slightest.

"Heh. I like you, Ranmaru Kageyama. You're the reason I can't sleep at night without my heart beating thinking of you. You're the reason why I smile every time you're here."

No God Damn why is this happening. Is this real? Is this a dream? Ranmaru himself doesn't know. But please, don't wake him up.

"Hello?? Ranmaru??"

Oh god this wasn't a dream.

He averted his eyes somewhere else, the chalkboard -- The teacher's desk, the window..! Anywhere else except your eyes.

"I..I like you too." He shyly confessed, eyes boring into a window nearby. You sighed out of relief. "I'm so glad!"

Ranmaru closed his eyes, trying to make sense of what was happening right now. Well, he was, until he felt a peck on the corner of his lips.

He opened his eyes, seeing you right in front of his face. "I'll let you kiss me properly if you get a perfect score on your next quiz." You playfully teased, winking.

And GOD he will get a perfect score on his next quiz. He studied HARD, stayed up LATE and even asked Sara for handouts.

He now got his sweet payment, as he indeed got a perfect score on the test (Thank God he got the additional two points.) So he was fully excited to pecker you with kisses.

#Anzu Kinashi (Begged you to kiss her even after she failed the quiz.)

"Wahhh! Guess what, guess what! The teacher was so mean today! All I did was answer 10 questions wrong in that quiz!"

"..Anzu that quiz was out of 10."

"Ohh yeah! True! Anyways, did he have to be so mean!?"

You giggle, resulting in Anzu to stop waving her hands aggressively....Ah..She din't tell you yet. She knows everyone likes you (I mean who wouldn't), and she doubt she would even get with a person like you.

"(Name)-(Name)....I got something to say!" She announced, making you jolt a bit. You raise an eyebrow. "What is it, Anzu?"

"I likeee youuuuu! Date me, pleasee!" She babbled, blushing immediately after she said that. You shrug. "Sure, why not? I like you too, after all."

When she was panicking, you took an advantage to leave a peck on the corner of her lips. To say she was pink was an understatement, she was red all over.

JOE is very excited for your birthday, even more so than you! He wants you to have fun on your birthday so for your special day, he took you out to the recent carnival! Anytime he sees you lay your eyes upon a stuffed toy that is waiting to be collected by playing one of the carnival games, he will immediately go and get it for you even if he’s terrible at them. After all, seeing you with a big smile and your eyes twinkle like stars in the night makes him feel warm and happy <3

Kai Satou

KAI knew that your birthday was today and had decided to whip up a birthday feast for you consisting of all your favorite foods that you have mentioned or based on observations as he is a very observant person. Every. Single. One. Of those dishes were made with the utmost dedication and love that he has for you. And as you and him enjoy the food that he has made for you, you can’t help but think to yourself that it tastes even more delicious since he’s with you. Little did you know, he felt the same.

Mai Tsurugi

MAI is currently baking a birthday cake for you at the kitchen of your shared home. And for your birthday, the both of you went to karaoke, singing the night away. Finally after a couple of songs sung by the both of you, she surprised you by singing the song that she had made for your birthday. You could feel all the passion, dedication and love she had put into making this song for you, making you smile with adoration and love towards your partner.

Shunsuke Hayasaka

SHUNSUKE is honestly kinda clueless on how he should celebrate your birthday and so he asked the help of his friends, Mai and Kuromada for some tips on what to do for your birthday. And after the two of them gave him some advice and even helped him! Shunsuke waited until you arrived and when you did, he surprised you with a birthday cake (made by Mai <3) and a gift with him telling that he knows it’s simple but that he hopes you like it. Of course, you tell him that you love it and that you were very happy since he had put a lot of thought into doing this. Overall, it was simple but pleasant celebration with your beloved <3

A/n: writing for the yttd community, there are hardly some crumbs here n im here to provide, OH and i had a lot of fun writing shin's, everything turns fun when there's midori🖐️ ok pls i rlly love shin's part im re-reading it so many times lol

With Joe's cheerful, bright aura, you're struggle to even just seeing his smile is understandable. But you decided to appreciate him for it, that's what led you to try to do those cliche high school girl things to their high school crush.

And so, there you are, box in hand behind your back, you watch as Sara and Ryoko left the both of you alone for some privacy. It became a little awkward until you speak up, shoving the box in front of him.

He looked at it, full of surprise, processing what just happened, until he realize you were giving him a valentine chocolate, his face painted with that toothy smile again. "Thank you, y/n!! Oh my god, I can't believe I actually get some..!" And oh wow did that smile just painted the atmosphere better.

Once the deed is done, you went your separate ways, "Let's meet each other up someday! Just the two of us!!" he said as he catches up to his friends, giving you a wink and thumbs up.

Mr. Policeman is quite busy, so Keiji kinda dismiss today as a normal day, he has duties after all, it's not like anyone would just suddenly gift him chocolates to begin with. Or so he thought.

Jobs are tiresome for real, hardly had enough time to catch a breath, watching all those criminals, claiming justice, things like that. He never really thought you would left something for him until one of his co workers tell him that you were searching for him, he found a pretty wrapped box with a cute letter that motivate him on his friendly policeman duties.

"Guess a break doesn't hurt, I gotta call y/n too."

Cheesy stuff like valentines never really amaze Shin, mostly because he has no time to think about those kind of stuff, or that he just doesn't have that someone to celebrate it with lol.

And you're on a mission to change that! Unfortunately, as soon as you approach him, he was with his creepy friend, you guess right, it's Sou, clinging to Shin like some mother on her child's first day at school.

"Hiyori, I told you I have a meeting with y/n-" "Aww, just for a little bit? They haven't arrived yet, why the patience?" The thing Hiyori didn't know that Shin is trying to get rid of him for being creepy, and that he didn't want that guy to mess with you, poor guy.

You decided to help Shin, making clear of your presence. "Ekhem, excuse me sirs..." "Ah, y/n! Thank god you're here..!" when Shin said that, Sou gave him a glare, 'Thank god?'

Later, he gives up, and decides to leave the both of you alone for a while, giving you a bow and walk away from you. Time for business.

"I got something for you, haha..." You handed the beanie man your gift. Once he notice your intentions, red blushes painted his cheeks, surprised, awkward expression, he feels bad receiving it, but you insist either way. Shin was internally broke, good job.

From afar, Sou creeps the both of you, sneaking at Shin's happy expression and decide to tease him about it later.

Joe tazuna askes while having a grin on his face, it was almost as if he wanted to see you and couldn't wait too. "I'm going home joe.." "This early? Wanna atleast hit the arcade??" Joe asked almost as if he was hurt by your response. You gave in to his pouty face and finally accepted, hope your parents don't mind a little detour.

Once you finally make it to the arcade, joe grabs your hand and takes you to a gun game. You've never played so of course joe beats your ass score, "Here y/n, I'll teach you!" "Joe you don-" Joe goes behind and guilds your hands onto the gun into a right position to shot enemy's on screen. You couldn't help but feel flustered and didn't pay attention to anything joe was talking to you about, you were only focused on the moment and how close he was to you. "-See? You were speechless and stumbling over words because of what just happened, you're grateful you came to the arcade for this. "Oh, we've got to get home before our parents start to worry about us.." You looked at joe with worried eyes and he knew it was time to go too even though he enjoyed this moment with you. "You're right, c'mon I'll walk ya home."

You and Joe exited the arcade to walk home, it didn't last long but that gun game was so worth it.. the both of you know it too. Joe is looking the opposite direction with a slight blush on his cheeks, maybe he's thinking about the way he was holding you on the game and how great that was. "Hey Joe, you're blushing?" "WHAT? BLUSHING?? NOT ME ITS JUST YOUR IMAGINATION!" Joe exclaimed denying everything but when he said that, his cheeks got more red from embarrassment. He seemed off but you didn't question too much.

Finally at your house, joe walks with you to the doorstep to make sure you get inside even though he could've stood away from the door. "Joe I have something I wish to-" You're suddenly interrupted by joe grabbing your wrist and waist to pull you into his chest, Joe looks down to you with needy eyes and red filled face. Joe must've been planning for this moment the entire time in the arcade you guys were in. You eep as joe grabs your face and pulls you into a passionate and rough kiss, you wanted this but didn't know joe wanted it this much. Your eyes widen as joe explores your mouth and feels your lower back (damn joe).

He finally pulls away and mutters an "I love you." You are breathless, you didn't know joe was such a good kisser.
