Every once in a while I'll wonder why there is so much fighting/ arguing in the After series because tbh if you fight constantly you really should break up but then I remember at one point it was fanfic. In reality they only fight half as much because Anna was working on the slow burn, so a single fight could spand over 5 chapters, which equals only one day. But as a fanfic reader you wait days, weeks, and even months for a new chapter and therefore the author is constantly having to remind you REMEMBER THAT FIGHT it's still happening! But in the novel, which most read straight through it seems like OMG THEY ARE STILL FIGHTING!

After Truth / After We Collided

Tessa hat ihre  leidenschaftliche Beziehung zu Hardin beendet, nachdem er sie hintergangen und bloßgestellt hat. Doch die Leere in ihrem Herzen wird nicht kleiner und frisst sie immer mehr auf. Bei der Diner Party ihres Bosses steht Hardin auf einmal vor ihr, und alle Erinnerungen kommen zurück.

Hardin hat nichts zu verlieren… außer Tessa. Nach ihrer Trennung merkt er erst, was für ein tiefes Loch ihre Abwesenheit reißt. Jetzt muss er alles tun, um sie zurück zu bekommen. Aber kann er das? Kann er sich ändern? Und will er sich überhaupt ändern?

Nach dem turbulenten Ende des ersten Teils musste ich sofort in den Nachfolger eintauchen. Mir war natürlich klar, dass Tessa und Hardin wieder zueinander finden und dass die Beziehung so holprig bleibt, aber ich hatte, ehrlich gesagt, gehofft, dass sich nun beide besser im Griff haben.

Tessa stürzt sich in ihr Praktikum bei Vance Publishing und versucht auch, ihr restliches Leben wieder auf die Reihe zu bekommen, aber sie kommt einfach nicht von Hardin los.

Dieses Mal erleben wir die Geschichte auch aus dessen Sicht und erfahren, was er denkt und fühlt. Das hat mir gut gefallen, zumal seine Emotionen wirklich gut beschrieben und herausgearbeitet sind.

Es gab viele Stellen, bei denen ich wirklich empört war oder laut lachen musste. Ich kann also nicht behaupten, dass das Buch bei mir keine Emotionen auslöst. Hardin sagt teilweise wirklich verletzende Dinge zu Tessa, und sie vergibt ihm immer wieder. Ich persönlich hätte ihn schon längst in die Wüste geschickt. Auf der einen Seite finde ich es schön, dass die beiden nicht ohne einander können und dass Tessa an das Gute im Menschen glaubt und Hardin verzeiht, aber auf der anderen Seite hat sie es nicht nötig, sich so behandeln zu lassen. Die erotischen Szenen sind diesmal irgendwie auch nicht so gut gelungen wie im ersten Teil. Die zwei Ausnahmen sind die Szene im Hotel in Seattle und die Yoga-Stunde. Diese beiden haben mir wirklich gut gefallen.

Die Trennung erfahren wir aus Sicht von beiden Protagonisten. Während es für Tessa Stück für Stück leichter wird, wird es für Hardin immer schwerer. Die Vergleiche, die die beiden ziehen, fand ich unheimlich gut. Das ewige Hin und Her gehört bei Tessa und Hardin einfach dazu, aber auch das hat mir im ersten Teil besser gefallen. Hardin hat immer wieder Wege gesucht, Tessa zu sehen und Zeit mit ihr zu verbringen, doch jetzt versucht er nur noch sie zu kontrollieren. Irgendwann hatte ich auch einfach im Gefühl, wann sich die nächste Katastrophe anbahnte.

Die britische Literatur spielt eine geringere Rolle als noch im Vorgänger, aber sie ist trotzdem da. Hardin vergleicht sich mit Mr. Darcy und Tessa mit Elizabeth Bennet. Und ganz am Schluss lässt er sich sogar ein berühmtes Zitat tätowieren.

Am Ende erwartet uns wieder ein Cliffhanger. Das finde ich tatsächlich sehr clever von Anna Todd, denn so hält sie ihre Leser fest und fordert sie auf, an der Serie dran zu bleiben.

Mir ist aufgefallen, dass die Buchtitel immer sehr gut zur Geschichte passen. Beim ersten Teil habe ich gedacht, dass der englische Titel, der einfach "After" lautet, besser passt als der deutsche ("After Passion"). Bei diesem Teil ist es für mich tatsächlich andersherum. Sowohl der deutsche Titel "After Truth" als auch der englische Titel "After We Collided" passen zum Inhalt des Buches, aber ich bin der Meinung, "After Truth" beschreibt die Situation besser.

Ich habe das Hörbuch bei Storytel im englischen Original gehört. Von Elizabeth Louise bin ich immer noch beeindruckt, vor allem da sie Hardins Stimme so herrlich spricht. Shane East fand ich nicht so passend, weil er viel zu alt klingt für einen 20-jährigen College Studenten.

Es ist meistens so, dass der Anfang einer Reihe sehr stark ist und die nächsten Teile dann nachlassen. Genauso ist es hier auch. "After Truth" hat mir trotzdem gut gefallen, aber die Auseinandersetzungen von Tessa und Hardin werden anstrengender und immer weniger nachvollziehbar. Es war auch nicht mehr so, dass ich unbedingt weiterhören wollte, weil ich von der Geschichte nicht loskam. Nichtsdestotrotz habe ich das Hörbuch genossen.

MOVIE: AFTER

I was waiting this movie since first time i accidentally watch the triller. And today, I watched it. It’s been a long time I’m not dreaming to have a perfect relations like having a charming boyfriend who cares a lot and knowing the right way to treat me. All I ask for this long time is just a guy who really want me to be his center of life and I can try to compromise everything as long as he loves me. But after I watched the movie, well...

Last relationship I had, I can call the worst. I compromise for the very wrong person and I thank God it’s over. This movie slap me in my face for my oldest dream to have a boyfriend or maybe finally become my husband that have the same point of interest. We can buy novels and mangas for us to read untill the rest time or maybe shared stories that we both can enjoy. Share the same crazynes and doing the same habbit. Such a boring story tho. But still, it’s important to have a partner in life who think that I always be his center of life. 

Also this movie telling me, whoever is that, all they need is a correct puzzle piece to fix his/her life. Nobody’s perfect even Tessa as a brilliant student but she has less “fun” experience than the other or even Hardin, the guy with those kind of circle but still like to read books and smart too. All of us has a bad part of ourself. Even a white wall still have a black tiny spot that will ruin everthing. We broke sometimes. We fall for our deepest darkness of our story. We face our own fight no body else can understand.

Most important point that I get from this movie is, we need to stand for what our choises and deal with the risk and dare to face all the good and bad things follow as long as we know it’s  better for us. Nobody know the best for us better then ourself. Just speak, whatever it is, nice or bad. Because we cant choose between truth or dare. We need to tell the truth and we have to be dare.

So I saw the After movie...

Honestly, it was just okay. I think the studio was trying to make Hardin come off as dark and moody and they missed the mark. Instead he's more of the quiet kid in the corner, whose kinda sad and lonely.

I get that they didn't want Hardin as aggressive as he was in the book....

But that doesn't mean he can't break stuff, be stubborn, and try to fight/get arguments with almost everyone he meets.

Like why couldn't Tessa witness him destroying his dad's house? I don't think he once raised his voice at Tessa, let alone yelled at her! Also why no nightmares? The nightmares are part of the reason he is the way, he is. Like before Tessa he never slept peacefully.

Also why change the bet, there was nothing wrong with the old bet.

In the beginning he was like " I'm sorry, I was mean to you." I'm like bitch when?! Did I momentarily fall asleep when that happened?!

So After was good, not great, same but different. Honestly, book 2 might be better, if we even get a movie book 2.

I'm hoping the dvd might have some extended or deleted scenes but honestly I'm not expecting much.
