You can see the old eyeliner by his eyes, the smudged makeup making it evident that he had been rubbing one of his eyes uncontrollably. Your smile fades almost immediately when you finally close the door, stopping mid greet to adjust yourself in the passenger seat. But the car doesn’t start moving after you close the door. Instead Jaehyun sits with his hands on the steering wheel, head resting on the headrest behind him while he looked up to the roof of the car. He’s never looked like this before—defeated. Lost in his head while he finds the words to say to you.

Jaehyun doesn’t consider himself to be a jealous person. He’s usually very levelheaded—not letting his insecurities hinder him in a relationship. With you it’s different. He’s completely enamored with you, willing to follow you to the ends of the Earth if asked. He trusts you undoubtedly—he doesn’t the trust the fact that he believes you could find a better man. Someone who isn’t an idol having to hide his relationship from the world. Someone who isn’t busy for the better half of a year—working overseas or all day.

Which is why he stares at the roof of his car, frowning slightly with his dimples indented into the sides of his cheek. You’re not used to seeing them in this context. His dimples were accompanied by a smile—not a frown.

“Jaehyun?” He shrinks at your small voice, the stark difference from your earlier greet to now making him groan. You rake your eyes over his body finally noticing the paper in his hand—crumbled up by how harshly he gripped it. It’s unreadable now but you recognize it as it had been addressed to you. “Is that what you’re upset about? It’s really nothing.”

“Then why didn’t you tell me? If it’s really nothing you would’ve mentioned it.” He turns his head for the first time. You see that the makeup on his other eye was smudged too, giving him a messy smokey eye—you can’t help but admire his beauty. Even while angry and disheveled he managed to take your breath away. “And now you’re not saying anything, (Y/n).”

“Jae are you jealous…”

“I don’t feel like joking right now.” It’s hard to take the situation serious. Hard to not laugh in Jaehyun’s face as he balls the letter up in his hand and tosses it towards the backseat. “I don’t like that other people are allowed to perceive you. To think that you’re handsome and crush on you. I should be the only one.” Jaehyun has never been the type of man to be possessive, but his words made you melt. You never knew that he felt this way—even if it was a new development. You thought you were the only one that grew jealous with all the people that were around him—taking in his beauty while dressing him—styling him—mic-ing him.

You placed your hand on his, turning it over so you could rub circles on his palm. “I appreciate your words Jaehyun. You make me feel so wanted. But I didn’t tell you about it because I didn’t read it. I don’t have to because I have you. You’re my one and only.”

He holds back a grin, the wrinkles around his nose appearing instantly. You recognize this face—the one he makes before he unloads one of his jokes, “my forever only?”
