I don't care what the hatman says I firmly believe Ahsoka is not describing Anakin as anything other than the most cringefail jedi ever.
When she finds out Anakin is Darth Vader? The same Vader she's been fighting against for a decade? The same Vader who's crimes she's had a front row seat for in the rebellion? Who killed all the friends and family she grew up with and is now also killing the new friends and family she's managed to scrape together in the ashes of everything she ever knew? Who puppets around the 501st, her and Rex's brothers, the men who trusted him with their lives, as nothing more than mindless murderers? Ohoho she wants him dead sooo bad. She takes 3 business days to process then comes back with full murderous rage unlocked. She's outside his evil lair banging pots and pans together telling him to square the fuck up, Master. Her Cain instinct is fully activated. Move outta the way old man, Ahsoka's going to do what she must and she's actually going to follow through with her words.
Obi-Wan's got the cornerstone on depression, Ahsoka's got rage covered, together they almost form one healthy grief response. (I'm imagining them both living at the same rebel base post O66 and the twins going between them for wildly contrasting takes on their dad lmao)

purely fanon jason vent below so feel free to ignore
every other fic in the jason todd tag whether its romantic or platonic or whatever just has to include something about the no kill rule or him giving up killing like is it not enough ! have we not hashed out this argument enough already ! can I not read some jason content without having to be randomly bombarded by the morality police and how “oh jasons not killed anyone for x amount of months thats great! we knew u could do it jay”
and I wish I was just joking like I really do but I have scoured the tag almost from top to bottom and it always, without a doubt, has to come up at some point. its his fucking defining character trait apparently. mind u he’s not even the only dc character that kills but yall just won’t let it go! I do not need jason giving up his stance on killing to be written out for me to be able enjoy content about him
and whether its included so that his relationships with other characters can be viewed as ‘realistic’ is just so. what does it matter. its already fan-fiction who the hell cares about justifying the universe that you’re choosing to write him in

I am BEGGING this fandom to realize that ST is just not as deep as some of y'all make it out to be. Like the Duffers just aren't that good at writing or directing.
Also! Half this show is nostalgia bait! Which is actually a really important part of this conversation because I've seen people use scenes that were literally just movie throw back scenes to talk shit about characters when the scenes were literally just there to be Easter eggs. The Duffers barely even put any emotional direction into their scripts, it almost always ends up on the shoulders of the actors (which frankly explains some inconsistency with the party's characterization when you aren't giving enough direction to the literally child actors, some of which didn't start acting professionally until st). A lot of the metaphors they put into the show are also not that subtle. Which to be fair to the Duffers on this point, they don't NEED to be! The problem is that a lot of this fandom just glances over the obvious canonical metaphors and wholesale makes up new meanings to things. Like it's at a level that is extremely concerning!
Analysing works on a deep level is great, and there's plenty of media out there that does have 50 million meanings that you have to read or watch over and over again to catch every single line, joke reference, etc. but stranger things just ain't one of them.

What makes the dynamic between Joker and Maruki so tragic? I mean, other than Maruki being one of the few adults Joker trusted only to betray him?
I mean, that's kind of it, isn't it?
Joker and the phantom thieves whole m/o might be "getting back at shitty adults" but their kindness and heroism never once stopped at kids. From random momentos missions to your confidants, its all about proving their justice and seeking to save others from opressive authority.
But so rarely has an adult come so honestly and kindly to Joker than Maruki had. At the point in the story he's introduced in- Joker doesn't have anyone but his friends. Even Sojiro is still cold twards him and your other adult confidants are skeptical or distant still. His parents having to give him up and the cruelty of police burns bright in his mind still.
And here comes the doctor. He comes in with patience, and kindness, and generosity- and offers him a choice to sit at his table and share or not share. He is genuinely interested in what Joker has to say and values his input. Joker, who's words and claims and actions have been consistently met with threats, retaliation, or venom.
Maruki is one of the few adults that trusts and believes in joker from the start, and even up to and the end he always respected and cared about Joker- up to the end he always gave him the choice. There was nothing stopping him from snapping his fingers and making it all go away. Nothing stopping him from applying his sleeping beauty fate, except mutual respect and desire to have Joker see things his way.
He wants him to make a choice and he's wanting to make that choice in his direction. But he never took it away from him- and he met him and his ideals in battle. Thats the crazy thing about him is that.. everything came from empathy and love and a deep desire to protect people from pain he's felt before.
And Joker considers it, he falters, he agrees- because he wants the same thing Maruki does.. happiness, safety. You think it doesn't break his heart to see Haru and Futaba's parents back in the picture? To see his best friends happy- a Shiho without having to suffer from her experience or his best friend able to chase his dreams without pain?
But it goes against everything Joker believes in- what the phantoms believe in. They killed a god for that exact reason. But maruki is a man- a man with flaws. A man Joker is willing to almost get himself killed for as they hang off a crumbling palace, and a man he's willing to accept a ride from after all the shit he's done.. and let him guide him to the next destination in his life.
Man maruki fukin.. ugh fans face and ugly sobs

reminder that my totk rants are me just rambling about my thoughts, ideas and complaints, im not trying to analyze anything, be smart, be right, debate or convince anyone who likes it that its bad just bc i think its bad or simply dont like the choices made, im literally just spilling out my brain so it doesnt keep haunting me
if you think something makes sense that i think doesnt i, and forgive me for being so blunt about it, do not care why you think it works, my opinion of this game will not change and i am okay with that
you are free to disagree with anything i say of course but i really dont care why, sorry
(sth i said only in the tags before but added now in this edit bc i think its important: its not bc i dont want to hear other peoples opinions and live in ignorance or something, but bc im tired and i PROMISE you i have seen 99.9% of those arguments already)
im not trying to be mean, aggressive or dismissive, but again, these rants are just me rambling with no intention of arguing with anyone, the only reason im still posting whenever i think of something thats bothering me (even if it might be dumb or be disproven in game bc i am not all-knowing and might be possibly misremembering something), and letting those posts be rebloggable/interactable is bc i have been told by quite a few people that they like reading them or that they feel validated in their own disappointment
thats it.

Disclaimer: Please don’t read this post if you like male sports, and want to continue liking them.
I’m not talking about all sports, but specifically, the ones where you have a ball, and in order to score a point, you have to get that ball inside of a goal, or thru a hoop, so football, basketball, and the like. For some reason, football seems to be the most popular sport with males, and I’ve made an uncomfortable observation of why it might be so.
The game has two goals, right, and the only way to score a point is to get the ball into the goal of the opposite team, while the opposite team does everything in their power to defend it, including taking the ball from them. In order to play it well, it’s advantageous for the players to be quick, agile, good at maneuvering. Does this remind you of something?
You might know by now, where I’m going with this. I believe football is a simulation of impregnation. The ball is a symbol for the quickest sp*rm, and the goal is the symbol for the uterus. The object of the game is to get the ball inside the symbolical uterus, which would, in real life, result in impregnation.
The difference between this and the real thing, is that only m*n are playing, the symbolic uterus is only an object, passive, just waiting to be broken into. M*n alone are allowed agency in this situation. It’s a play between m*n, and the goal is only a means to achieve a point. I feel that maybe this is the way m*n believe it should be, it’s close to their perception of the world.
The other team of players are doing everything to defend their own goal - meaning the game is much more sinister, it’s about a forced impregnation. When a team scores the goal, the other team is defeated, taking a blow, that is symbolic. And as soon as it is done, the next objective, is immediately to do it again.
It reminds me of the male instinct to impregnate as many women as possible, as many times as possible. It also reminds me of m*n being willing to team up and work together in order to be able to violate and rape women, as they often do. The fact that the player closest to the goal or the ‘uterus’ has the most privileges and is allowed to touch the ball, reminds me of how the man who is closest to the woman will defend her from other m*n invading her the most, but also have the most access to her.
It explains why football specifically gives them such high, why their entire identity roots up in it, it caters to their base instincts. It brings them together, causing uproars of violence, rage and crime. Sometimes people will say that sports are used as a form of war - but it isn’t necessarily a war on the other team. Unfavorable outcomes in popular sports bring consequences of domestic violence, the women in the families end up paying the price more than anyone else. It’s a war on us, that doesn’t involve us. We’re passive, only a symbol, and then a collateral damage.
I want to make clear that when women do football, that’s different. That’s fine and I don’t mind it. They’re not being weird about it. They’re not beating their partner at home about it, or inspiring anyone else to do so. Women doing any sports is fine. But if m*n want to do football, they should do it... somewhere they have no access to women.
