haechan who is your rival coworker + secretly deadpool

for the sake of this story, lets assume deadpool does hide his identity. he works at a tech company and is constantly beefing with his coworker that he's lowkey attracted to. and the plot could maybe be something like you accidentally finding out his identity and then using that information to slightly/ kind of/ in a non-toxic way to blackmail him. eg: making him run errands for you, asking to tag along on his quests as deadpool. then the pair gets closer through all the time they spend together etc etc.

✶ note : hyuck HAS to be the sassiest, funniest, most sarcastic, cocky human being ever. also include some spidermark maybe

haechan as the prince of the neighbouring kingdom

historical au. very basic ik but hear me out. your kingdom's glory and power is gradually draining and it's threatened by multiple rivaling kingdoms. that is when your mother, the queen, tells you there is no choice but to turn to hyuck's kingdom for help. you hate the idea but you know everyone's counting on you so you go through with it anyways. (this is historical so there could be a very cool scene of the reader riding on a horse in battle armour to neighbouring kingdom's palace themself but whatever). they're good, kind people so they agree to help you. they send over a part of their military along with some weapons and of course haechan himself, their most prized possession who, like you, is skilled with a sword and is a wise leader. there's lots of quarrels between the both of you when it comes to the topic of which one has more power over the other and about who should be leading the troops. but you soon put your animosity aside when you realize that you have to work as a team to win. (insert dramatic battle sequence with swords and arrows flying around. at one point, you and haechan lock eyes and suddenly he drops to the ground. the world starts to blur around you when you realize he's been stabbed in his back. you frantically rush to his aid but he falls limp in your arms. its now upto the writer to kill him there itself and end the story. very angsty, i love. or they could also save him somehow and give main characters the happy ending they deserve).

✶ note : sloooooowwwww buuuurn. i mean this should be a long ass series with 7k+ words per chapter. should be so heavy on the angst and the hate that it makes you wonder if they do actually end up loving each other in the end. please include sword fighting scenes with sexual tension i beg you. (im big on bollywood, can u tell).

haechan as a stranger/ tour guide you meet on a family trip

you've just gotten out of a 3 year long relationship after your boyfriend cheated on you with your best friend. things get worse when your family, unaware of your breakup, forces you on a 2 week trip to *insert cute, small country" . here you meet the annoying, sarcastic, a-little-too-happy-for-his-own-good donghyuck. he is with the group your family is touring with (him being the tour guide is a pretty cute plot too but it could kind of complicate things later) and instantly wins everyone over with his charm, except you of course. in classic hyuck fashion, he tries to keep getting your attention and eventually succeeds. his company helps ease the pain of the heartbreak he didn't even know about. its bittersweet when it's time to part ways. you realise after you come back to your college dorm that you never exchanged phone numbers and you fail to find him on social media as well. but fate has strange ways of bringing people together. which is why you cant stop smiling when crash into a certain someone during a regular grocery run.

✶ note : more on the fluff and less on the angst for this one. and maybe a dash of slice of life as well.

haechan as captain of the football team.

there is no actual plot for this other than the fact that you're a cheerleader and also his academic rival (there is no trope i love more than this). my vision for this is very 2000s romcom. ik this isn't a lot to work with but there could be some sub trope like fake dating mostly.

- Dimi is probably the first one to catch feels when they’re kids! Felix does too but he’s kinda just like wtf is this??? until someone teases him about it. Sylvain is quite ✨special✨ with romance but I think he’d be inclined to trust you a lot more because you’ve known him since you were teeny tiny before you even knew wtf a crest was! So he probably also catches feels when you’re kids but then he goes through his whole girl phase SIGH

- None of them realize their predicament until they all see you again at the officer’s academy together. I wouldn’t say they’re super obvious about it, but they’re teenagers (well Syl isn’t but shhhhh) who all like the same person so they’re going to pick up on each other’s crushes while reader remains ignorant. It’s not an issue that needs to be addressed immediately, but they’re all watching each other cautiously.

- Syl would have a massive head start on flirting with you, but he’s faced with the big issue that you don’t believe he’s being genuine and brush him off. Felix is constantly challenging you to duels to get close to you and also have alone time with you, although the other 2 will occasionally ruin his plans and insist on joining. Ah man bby Dimitri would probably come across as a little overbearing because he’s very protective of you and is constantly offering to do things for you. He’s just a mother hen that’s whipped for you and doesn’t know any other way to express it!

- When it comes to the 4 of you sitting together at lunch or in class, Sylvain is the worst. He’s very aware that his competition is far less bold than him, and so he’s making sure he’s always closest to you. Will squish as close to you as humanly possible HE WOULD DEADASS PUT YOU IN HIS LAP IF HE COULD 😭 If he puts a hand on your thigh or an arm around you it’s a wholeass declaration of war.

- Felix will likely become much more protective which may cause a lot of yelling at you for being careless or weak, but really he’s just so worried! To ease his mind, he’ll help you correct your mistakes himself (which has the added bonus of getting really close to you and occasionally lowkey holding hands when he adjusts your grip). Around other people, especially Dimitri and Sylvain he’ll be evidently sweeter to you to get the message across. A blended mix of jealousy and concern will make him very protective of you around the other two. Dimitri is not getting within 5 feet of you while guard dog Felix is around.

- In the Blue Lions the tension in the air is so thick you could cut it with a knife everyone is thoroughly confused but frankly just sick of it lol. Felix glaring at Dimitri? That’s totally normal but Dimitri is doing it back AND Sylvain is added to the weird stare off- wtf happened?? Byleth would have to talk to them after class and be like guys what in the goddess’s name happened 😭 They’ll all give a vague answer that doesn’t give away that it’s about you and each one of them has a jab at the others to shift the blame..please find your chill lads !

- At this point everything gets a little bit needier because they’ve all had this pent up yearning but have been blocked by the others. (If you’re ok with it) Sylvain will just randomly peck you on the cheek or your forehead when he sees you and you’re just like LOL ok ✨typical Sylvain✨ But when you sit next to him at lunch or in class he’s started very tenderly holding your hand under the table and you’re like huh ok that’s a little odd. If Dimitri is on the other side of you he will carefully take your other hand in retaliation. Felix will probably give in and do the same but he’ll snatch your hand a lot more aggressively and look away from you with a scowl and a blush.

- Dimi and Felix are both touch starved AF and would very much appreciate cuddles or any physical contact. If you’ve reacted positively to everything thus far, Dimitri will slowly start to bite the bullet and initiate affection because he wants it so bad. Any time you touch Dimitri, he gets sappy and lovey af and will express his adoration in hopes that you’ll keep giving him affection. Felix would never upfront ask for affection but he just kinda sits really close to you and glares at you with a little pout and you will have to realize that this is Felix language for ‘it is a crime that you aren’t cuddling me rn’.

- Obviously Sylvain gets lots of physical contact with women but I don’t ever see it as holding affection yknow?? Like yeah he spends a night or two with chicks after them crest babies™️ (i cannot take myself seriously this sentence is so funny-), but I don’t really think that they’ve done actual cuddling or casual displays of affection like petting someone’s hair because they likely don’t care too much for Sylvain and will just do the bare minimum. So in a way, Sylvain is also starved of affectionate touches and he would very much appreciate the little things that no one else has done for him. It’s new and scary for him to actually seek romantic attention, but he’s still pretty bold, just not very tactful when it comes to you lol. If you’re sitting by yourself on a bench he will not hesitate to sprawl himself out on top of you with his head in your lap and stare up at you with an innocent grin. Is also lowkey not embarrassed to whine or pester you?? His reputation is pretty hopeless at this point so what does he have to lose by sitting behind you in class and poking you while dramatically whining about you not paying attention to him?

- Attention is a huge deal to Sylvain. It’s one of the main things he’s looking for when he randomly flirts with people at the monastery. He can’t handle being ignored and that leads him to often seek many girls at once so that he always has attention when one is busy. But when it comes to you he finds himself in deep shit because once he’s gotten a little bit from you, everyone else seems minuscule and with others he only receives a mere fraction of the satisfaction he gets from being with you. So he’s gradually allotting more and more time to you until he hardly talks to any other girl. But Sylvain is used to being the one that everyone wants more of, so when he finds himself in the shoes of the smitten women that piss him off, he’s plagued by the worry that you’ll think he’s overly needy. So he comes to seek validation from you too. If he can just get you to comb your fingers through his hair or give him a kiss on the cheek then he can renew his confidence in trying to court you.

- Dimi is somewhat similar but for different reasons and in different ways. Dimitri has practically no experience with romance so he’s extremely smitten and has an overwhelming desire for the affection you give him that he’s never had. But he’s painfully aware of how extreme his feelings are in comparison to any other couples he may have seen at the monastery, and he’s terrified that he’ll scare you away if he expresses exactly how much he yearns for you. So Dimitri is always very visibly holding back much like he often holds back his strength. Dimi will do anything for you or with you, but you have to initiate it so he can be certain that he’s not smothering you. On days where he’s extremely lovey and never wants to let go of you (which is kind of often lol) he will constantly ask if you’re sure that he’s not bothering you. He is just so horrified at the thought of messing up whatever it is you have.

- Felix will be very easily overwhelmed by you, so it’s much better if you wait to cuddle up to him until you can both go to one of your rooms. It’s not that he doesn’t want to be touched, he does, but his feelings for you make him way too vulnerable for his liking, so he’s not going to want anyone else around. Felix is still Felix and he goes off to take out his feelings in the training grounds every free day, but has started occasionally coming to your room when he’s done for the day and receiving his required cuddle time away from prying eyes. He may have accidentally fallen asleep with you a couple times..

- You’ve probably snuck in to sleep in Dimi’s room on occasions when he’s dangerously sleep deprived. The man, the myth, the legend Dedue would definitely help sneak you in because he knows it does Dimi a lot of good. Dimitri is able to fall asleep with you practically on top of him in his grasp. Feeling your heartbeat close by and your hair beneath his head and hearing you breath peacefully is enough to ground him from his fear of losing you too. He’ll still have nightmares, trauma is a bitch, but when you’re there you can bring him back down and he’ll eventually be able to fall back to sleep (which he typically can’t do alone). It’s not a perfect night’s sleep, but it’s enough to keep Dimi functional and that’s what you’re there for. He’ll thank you a million times and unnecessarily apologize for the inconvenience, please do what you can to reassure him that he’s not a nuisance to you.

- SIGH Sylvain, this god damn silly little goose, is extremely distressed by his feelings for you and even moreso by his developed neediness. It honestly kinda scares the shit out of him to realize he’s whipped for someone and at a loss for a way to ask you out. He’s used to having that power, to have someone’s feelings in the palm of his hand where he can do anything he wants. Genuinely trying to figure out how he would court someone is a frightening new thing for him and he’s suddenly on a playing field where he doesn’t have his experience or his power to shield himself with. So he reverts to his old ways to try to get a handle on his fear and have his confidence boosted back up. But of course, Syl still wants all the attention he can get from you so you so he spends all of the day with you, then does his other girl bullshit at night! It doesn’t go as smoothly as planned though..Sylvain is used to being yelled at by crying girls, but it hasn’t gone unnoticed that he ignores them all day and drops by whenever he feels like it, and he ends up getting in some pretty nasty arguments that do not help his already vulnerable state. So it’s like 2 AM and Sylvain’s feeling like a sorry sack of potatoes and just wants to be held by someone and talk until falling asleep in their arms. And there’s only one person who Sylvain wouldn’t mind being open with and who could provide him genuine comfort..and you’re the lucky winner of the ‘Sylvain on your doorstep at 2 AM’ lottery!! Unless your sleep schedule is wack you’re gonna be all groggy like hey uhh wtf Syl??? And that is how the occasional nights that Sylvain falls asleep in your room happen!

- If the 3 of these scenarios interfere with each other ummmmmmmmm no they didn’t 😳

Ok! That’s where I’m leaving off because I don’t want to try to write endings with you picking one of them it just makes me kinda sad LMAO. Bro omg it’s the return of the ridiculously long Allister fics she do be goin a little insane though 😳 But for real I’ve been gradually adding to this for like?? a week? And I just kept picking cute relationship milestones or whatever in my walnut brain and writing a point for each of them so that the 3 of them are equally written. So it might not line up perfectly but I hope you like it!!

ACOFAS REVIEW -INC SPOILERS

4.5 stars.

Okay, so! This was the first book I was able to finish in 2021. I've kinda been in a reading slump, and struggling to get past the 30-50% of books. I think its because I took essentially 3 months off my normal (daily) reading schedule and have been prioritising other things (health, fitness, job applications etc) - I think it's a testament to how addicted I was to this that I finished and consumed this at the rate I did! I recently went back and added some things to my ACOWAR review. To briefly summarise, I feel that, at the time I read it, it kind of gave me what I needed, but it definitely isn't getting a re read - my love for feysand has definitely lessened over time, but honestly i'm not that mad at sarah for this, as I find that whenever I've passed the sexual tension part of relationships in books, I tend to get bored of the domestic bliss. Like, leave that shit for an epilogue and keep it at that? As someone generally averse to relationships, but there is definitely a grace period for how long I can actively be smitten with a couple... before it becomes sickly. Taking all this into account, I honestly was nervous for this book, its release date totally took me by surprise, and I read it on a whim. As a Nessian shipper (I mean we didn't really have a choice after acomaf but to delve into the world of fanfic to keep us going) - this book gave me most of what I wanted and needed from them! I think,(some) kudos to SJM, for not disappointing in their relationship. This was definitely a character > plot driven story. In terms of the plot, I wasn't really invested until around the 38% mark? I'm not sure if I was adjusting to the writing style (lots of dramatic. sentences. that. are. so. abrupt. Nesta Archeron. Death etc) - or if it was bc I hadn't read an SJM book since the novella, which I basically skimmed. I was obviously reading for Nessian, but I didn't really feel intrigued by the wider plot (death gods, the human queens? Given I had lost my previous obsession with the world/ have outgrown 'fandom' culture, that made me actively update my knowledge, I couldn't remember a lot!) I think its clear that SJM excels character driven stories, but I think her worldbuilding and execution is significantly better in the throne of glass franchise. Now, I did say this was a character driven story. This is mostly regarding Nesta, Cassian and Azriel. I loved pretty much any interaction they had! I love a good training montage. Ngl though, I think, unless you possess an ardent love for Nessian, you're not going to be particularly wowed by this, if you've read heir of fire, or even acomaf. I obviously am never going to be able to be objective, because I've loved nessian so much from 2017-now, but I loved the dynamic those two (and three - friendship wise between nes/cass/az). One of the highlights of ACOWAR for me was the snippets of Az, showing tenderness, and opening up to the newer members of the inner circle (and i'm excluding any hint of an Elriel ship because FUCK THAT LOL) For me, the tip with SJM books is: once you outgrow them/the particular mode of narrative style, is to not anticipate anything other than a character driven story, albeit one riddled with smut. I personally am a romance heavy reader, so I'm honestly deconditioned to it at this point, (like, when I see reviewers scandalised I'm like... wow, the amount of trash I have consumed in the last five years loool.) While I disagree with the fact SJM marketed this series as y/a (or maybe it wasn't her per se, but the key booksellers definitely did this for her) - I think its clear enough now she's descended into the adult/borderline erotica genre.(very mild imo). I personally like to adopt a policy of skimming sex scenes when I find the dialogue cringy (most the time it is lets be honest any talking is v second hand embarrassment). Cassian and Nesta were definitely better than Rhys and Feyre post chapter 55 though! I was so glad there weren't a million moments of Cass/Nesta betraying their arousal with their scents, in front of everyone (like feysand, the voyeuristic pda pricks they are). I found the slowburn ish nature of their relationship great, and I actually think if you're a virgo/emotionally stunted reader, you will be happy with their relationship dynamic. It contrasts with the daemati sexual snark of acomaf, but it felt right, and authentic. This book was a journey of personal growth, for Nesta. It is clear SJM loves books about strong women, and maybe thats what makes me love this book so much. I think, out of all the archeron sisters, I love Nesta the most. This is for my Rose Calloway fans, my misunderstood, somewhat cold/left out girls, who are less receptive to being vulnerable. If you're a slowburn fan, it's not Mariana Zapata levels of slowburn, imo it's the perfect combo. Addictive enough that I don't want to put it down, but not so fast moving that I couldn't believe it. I loved the sex without emotion relationship they had!! This is honestly never done in mainstream n/a fantasy, unless its a caricature of a 'slut' that normally rivals the main character, lmao. Even if their inner conflict was p transparent, this gave me everything I needed! I know this is vapid lol but I also love the physical dynamic between the two, they just look so good together, the amount of fanart I'm going to reacquaint myself with after this review!! I adored seeing Nesta grow, (even if towards the end I kind of resented her sudden acceptance into the inner circle, i get SJM loves her and just wanted a fluffy ending, but, as a Nesta like character, it's awkward and stilted on her end to adjust to the inner circle like this - i mean, hugging rhys, really??)

I think, if I had to compare this to any other SJM book, I would say Chaols book (though I obviously preferred this). That being said, I felt less attached to new characters in this book than I was in even Chaols book (and even then ngl I remember nothing?) Obviously I loved what it represented, as a trio of traumatised women. I just, didn't love this the way I loved other inner circle members! I get that they gave Nesta exactly what they needed, a family that doesn't hold the history of her sisters, who she doesn't have to worry about holding preconceived notions of disappointment. I loved this for her! Even then.. I just wasn't attached to either of them. I found their interactions cute - but boring. Towards the end, when their stories/pasts are revealed, I couldn't help but cringe slightly, I can't put my finger on why, but I just didn't buy it. Maybe it's the brit in me but I couldn't be moved by this slightly forced bonding moment.. which was so anticlimactic. My 'aww how cute' tolerance is defo deserved for characters whose tropes I love. Maybe they just didn't fit into this list. Maybe I'm just being a cow here?

Now, let's speak about the real star of the show.... A FUCKING MAGICAL HOUSE FRIEND??? YESSSSSSS. IF YOU ARE AN ILONA ANDREWS INNKEEPERS CHRONICLES FAN, U WILL LOVE! How was the animation of this somehow more touching than all of nesta's other friendships combined? Exactly what I ordered, thank you. This trope somehow touches more than any material bonding!! The cute witch x house dynamic (also maybe howls moving castle vibes?) I loved the trying to reach the target of 10,000 steps (a little Celaena HOF). I think this, heir of fire and acomaf are my favourite SJM books for this reason. Gripes: I definitely had some personal gripes with how other members of the inner circle treated Nesta (rhys i'm looking at you. Disappointed doesn't even cover it.) I inherently take offence to any elain scene, as i'm so over bland characters whose existence is reduced to wanting to fucking plant flowers?? like?? really? To go from moriel to that is such a downgrade, even if I fell out of love with Mor due to the way she snubbed Nesta (you're a 500 year old being and you can't see someone is clearly traumatised?). I adore Az so much, but if it aint polyamorous, I cannot see any pairing with Elain making me happy. (wouldn’t mind gwyn though) I think the whole mating bond that I do not want is a good dynamic, but I really hate that everyone has to be mates in this world. I don't think we were that surprised, but it would've been nice if the somehow, idk, developed a strong bond over time, without it being preordained? Like, even if they do not all actively stay with their mate, given how disproportionate mates are among the general population, what's the likelihood 6 members of the inner circle (including lucien) have mates?

My advice? Read this book if you love nessian and the acotar world in general, but don't expect the world building to be consistent with greater fantasy series'. This style of story is obviously what to expect. She writes what she likes, and if her fantasy is this - then who are we, as readers, to expect otherwise?

Final rating: 4.5 (no, i'm not objective, but objectivity does not exist if you are a real, human being, lol)

Original Characters: 5/5 (nessian/az/house wise) 1/5 (feysand - really over how they essentially take over the very end of the book - ugh, I wanted nesta's arc to be wholly separate from them) Writing style: 3.5 Cringe Scale: Low, with the exception of some dialogue. New Characters: 2 Plot: I went into it with a 2 and came out with a 4. Not in terms of complexity, but in terms of how addictive and enjoyable this reading experience was! (less)

we watched 2 whole more eps but we’re abt to vacay so i better recap this biz now before i forget

ok so we finished the zoldyck arc and uhhhh gotta say we werent expecting like any of that to happen lol

ok ill back up so we start w/killuas mom (i dont think we ever heard her name) confronting gon & co....and canary (i lov her) is not dead which i assumed but thank goodness.

zoldyck mom was totally using nen. also she is off her rocker gotta say. tho that visor is super cool, albeit confusing - is it connected to a bunch of security cameras or something? how does she see all that shit?

granpa is wild. his tunic thing that says ‘one kill a day’ or w/e is kinda hilarious, it reminds me of the ‘apple a day keeps the dr away’ saying...a murder a day keeps the....idk away????

i love that killua makes it abundantly clear that he couldve like escaped at any time lol. also tho why didnt he just escape....baby boy just leave

killua getting all serious and threatening milluki if he messes with gon....my boys got it BAD

this family has so many communication issues hvbjadkfbjaskdfj nobody is on the same page at all

the butler guy continued to remind me of kuro one piece this whole time...i was waiting for him to bust out the ridiculous cat claws

also canary is so cool man. her beating up all those guys was epic

ok that whole scene with killua and his dad was like, such a rollercoaster lmao

like....it was all over the place for me...first of all the ambiance was wack, the room lighting was weird and im p sure killuas seat was an electric chair??? and the dad was in a coffin thing..???? like....interesting aesthetic choices all over the place here

also i see now where killua got his hair and also his catboy tendencies. the zoldyck catboy genes seem to trace back to zoldyck dad, who has kinda scary cat eyes

also im guessing that the dad is the blood zoldyck and the mom is the one who married in. they sure seem to put a lot of emphasis on like, family legacy or w/e, but the two parents certainty go abt it in different ways

the whole convo b/w killua and his dad was wild, it totally didnt go where i was expecting it to. his dad was weirdly chill while also being super intense?

killua happily telling stories abt gon was so sweet....baby boy baby

and his dad telling him ‘never betray your friends’ was rlly interesting...i wonder what his reasons were for saying that

cause then he tells killua he can leave, and killua does, but then dad zoldyck tells mom zoldyck (i rlly need to find out their names) that he thinks killua will come back on his own time....inch resting

i wonder if dad zoldyck made killua promise that bc he was trying to set killua up for failure - as in, he tells killua to never betray his friends, thinking that killua inevitably will & be distraught abt it, and then turn back to the zoldyck family when this happens. idk

also its interesting to me that zoldyck dad wants killua to lead the family someday. like, illumi is right there, hes the oldest and clearly dedicated to being an evil assassin, and he seems p good at it...i wonder why killua is the favorite....the grandpa (i think) did say that killua is Special(tm) which...yes he is a special baby boy i love him. i wanna see more zoldyck family flashbacks/interactions so we can see what led them to this point

and like immediately killua is like ok gon do you have money. and of Course gon doesnt have money. so killua is like well you need money and you need to train so you can deck hisoka, so lets go to a fantasy version of an underground fighting ring! this is why kurapika and leorio needed to stay

tho they probably wouldve just gone along with it

they did all promise to meet in yorknew city, but thats apparently like 6 months away. are gon and killua rlly gonna spend 6 months at heavens arena

i doubt this is the last weve seen of the zoldyck family. i mean we havent even met 3 of them, and we barely saw the ones we did meet...idk when theyll come back but i suspect theyll be making some big money moves later on and fucking shit up somehow

i think maybe illumi or someone will like, spy on killua sometimes to keep track of him. or theyll track him by other means

ill use the prediction corner to reflect on incorrect predictions so heres a few. i rlly thot killua was gonna be more edgy than he is but hes rlly just a good boy huh. like hes a gay baby assassin catboy but hes so cute and good too. he just wants to live his life and hang out with his tiny bf like... omg :’)

like i thought hisoka would be like p1 dio, where hed be/quickly become a powerful antagonist who would amass a bunch of followers/minions (when actually the only person he seems to hang out w/is illumi, and theyre more like equals than an evil guy/minion dynamic)...or like i thought hisoka would be very well known as a scary evil guy but nope he was just another participant in the hunter exam, albeit a weird freaky one whose rancid vibes everyone seemed to pick up on

anyways actual predictions, i think hisoka is gonna be at heavens arena, which would be super funny. gon is like im gonna train to beat hisoka and he shows up to do that and hisokas just there like >;) hey

i think if i had to guess, the zoldycks will show up again (in a plot important way) at the end of the yorknew arc/before the greed island arc. i know basically nothing abt any of the arcs but i do know the order they go in so theres that

i do think illumi will show up earlier than the other zoldycks tho, since he seems to be out doing his own thing more than the rest. also we still really havent resolved the whole mind control thing that im still convinced of

i think nen will finally be introduced/alluded to heavily in this arc...or like, characters will use nen and gon will be like whoa whats that

i think killua knows what nen is...maybe? it would make sense since im sure all the zoldycks can use it (at least, we saw mom zoldyck use it, probably)

born on october 5th, 1999 ( this is literally a day before my bday ooc but anyway ajkdhsjdh ) in rochester, new york, blair’s first impression of the world was a crisp autumn day

she was her parents first and only child. her mother was an elementary school teacher, while her father worked at a nearby power plant in ontario

the family never made too much money, but they were able to get by, at least at first

she had a fairly happy childhood, though it was a lonely one. her father was always working odd hours, and with her mother gone during the day, she spent most of her time with a babysitter and the family golden retriever

eventually, she herself started going to school. she immediately excelled in the english department and fell in love with reading. blair realized early on how much she enjoyed escaping reality with a novel, immersing herself in a story so exciting compared to her dull life

almost everything was fine until her high school years. aside from the fact that she never had a present father figure, she was closer to her mom and still loved by both of her parents. however, when her high school years came around, her father lost his job

her father was the families main provider, and her mothers salary alone would not be enough to take care of the entire family. while he searched for another job, they had to give away the family golden retriever to one of blair’s aunts because they couldn’t afford the extra cost :(

on top of losing her beloved pet, the loss of her father’s job prompting the family to pick up and move their entire life

already in the midst of high school, blair had to leave her life as she knew it behind. the family moved to statesboro, georgia, and her father found a job at the nearby power plant

the transition to life in georgia was not easy for blair. though she didn’t exactly have trouble making friends, she didn’t feel like she could truly connect with anyone

once again, blair turned to losing herself in a book to pass the time

shortly after the move to georgia, her parents experienced some difficulties within their marriage. they ended up separating, and blair spent the remainder of her high school years living with each of them for half of the time

she did not mind her parents separating, as she knew it was for the best. however, her father found a girlfriend fairly quickly, and blair would eventually find out her father had been having an affair

her father spent most of his free time with his new girlfriend and her family. blair was upset at how he prioritized his the new people in his life over her when he was barely ever around for her growing up

meanwhile, her mother was having trouble adjusting to being alone, so she moved back to new york to live with her sister

blair stayed behind in georgia to finish high school, but knew she wanted to go elsewhere for college. she wanted to get as far away from her father and his new life as possible

once blair turned eighteen, she began to sell pictures for money. she wanted to earn as much as possible so she could afford to go away for university. she created an alias and began to sell pictures and videos of her feet. eventually, she expanded her horizons once she realized how much money she could earn

she never went as far as sleeping with her clients, but she would go on dates with them and spend the days with them to earn more money ( kind of like ludovica/chiara in the italian show baby on netflix minus sleeping w them )

she dated a few people throughout her high school years, and began to more “seriously” date a guy during her senior year in high school, though she knew the relationship wouldn’t last. despite appearing as a more serious relationship, to her, it wasn’t really anything of the sort, and she mostly wanted a relationship for senior prom and other trivialities

after senior year ended and she had accepted admission into uni in seattle, she basically cut ties with everyone in georgia aksdjskdjh she said good bye forever ! rip poor unnamed boyfriend he didn’t see it coming ...

her father also did not see it coming because she didn’t even tell him where she applied. but at the same time, did he ask ? no :/

once she left for uni, her relationship with her father became very very estranged. she still speaks to her mom on a pretty regular basis, but even then, she has a whole secret life and doesn’t feel particular close to either of them sjkdfhskdjh

she is definitely a friendly/sociable person. she can be pretty outgoing and loves to be around people. idk her mbti yet but she is def an extrovert ! ( she does tend to keep her feelings to herself tho )

despite her friendly demeanor, she does have a fiery spirit. if u wrong her she will hold a grudge against u until it gets settled/sorted. she can be more on the mean side when she’s upset, but even then she does not have a bad heart at all

when it comes to relationships, blair is all over the place. she can be very flirty/charismatic and is constantly hopping from one relationship to the next. she hasn’t quite been able to settle down, but it is possible. she kind of thinks being in a real relationship means losing her freedom, because that’s kind of what she saw happen with her parents, so she doesn’t really want to be tied down to someone in fear of losing herself in a way. does this make sense ? maybe ? ok !

blair has a fairly strong sense of self, but she’s still very young so she’s still growing and changing. she is the type of person to know what she wants and go after it ( yes, even with ppl ! ). she will stop at nothinggg to get what she wants ( oop ). u could say she loves the chase, but kind of gets bored afterwards unless u have more to offer !

omg she literally loves 2 be the center of attention. i mean, who doesn’t love attention ? but blair takes it 2 another level. she gets all :( if she’s being ignored or isn’t receiving enough attention

kind of bouncing off the whole attention thing, blair loves a good party ! she’s young and here for a good time. she def loves to drink at parties and stuff even tho she isn’t legal here in the us, why should that stop her am i right ? when it comes to drugs, she’s a veryyy casual user and doesn’t do anything crazy. a social weed smoker n will do pills here and there

OR blair could def have a crush on someone who does not like her back. maybe that person is super non-committal, or they simply do not like her back. we could plot this out however <3

current fling/friends w benefits - someone she is currently seeing/sleeping with. could be no strings attached, or there could b some feelings there. maybe they don’t want to make it anything serious, or maybe they’re ready to take it to the next level. maybe one person is ready to go further, and the other isn’t.

enemies w benefits - imagine the tension!!! they started out hating each other, but ended up hooking up. maybe it was a one time thing, or maybe they can’t stop going back to each other. i think it would b cool if they kept it a secret, they don’t want anyone else to know. this could develop in soooo many ways !

bad influence - blair isn’t a goody-two-shoes by any means, but doesn’t really do anything crazy, so i’d luvv for someone to kind of influence her to do shit she normally wouldn’t on her own

do you have any ideas for how a Good version of TLJ might have gone? Assuming TFA stayed the same

Okay here I have summarized a convoluted revised version of TLJ for you, keeping as much of the plot skeleton as possible. What I am proposing is not so much a “Good” version as a “trashy version I would have enjoyed.” I feel comfortable in the knowledge that no one is going to read to the end of this read more.

Rey plot: have the initial focus/mystery be the fact that Luke having voluntarily cut himself off from the Force, and the “darkness” on the island then is some kind of very literal dissociated embodiment of his trauma, or whatever; like, Rey talks to Luke and gets nothing from him, Rey goes to the kelp pit and gets the same traumatic memory projector effect as she got from the lightsaber but x1000. Kelp pit is grief pit. Also instead of the porgs retrieving the lightsaber it would have washed up in the sea cave there, obviously. Also logically the pit should be under the tree/temple/whatever, I don’t know why the pit wouldn’t be under the tree. OH maybe there is no tree and Luke destroyed it years ago lmao. And is like, somewhat sheepish about this, but not that sheepish. Luke gives an actual cogent argument for why the Jedi need to end + a description of what it’s like to be submerged in the Force and be tempted, constantly, by the ‘destiny’ the Force recommends, even after having already failed—he wanted to restart the school! He dreamed of finding other children to replace the dead students! He couldn’t bear the hope, so he cut himself off. Rey: “… it’s nothing like that for me. are you sure that was the Force. btw there’s a mirror underground here and it hates you.” The ROTJ parallel isn’t Luke and Vader / Rey and Kylo, it’s Rey distractedly, bemusedly saving Luke.

(As far as the Kylo backstory goes, uhhhh, my problem is that I really LIKE “Kylo thought Luke was going to kill him” from the Kylo side, it’s a classic fucked-up thing triggers massively fucked-up reaction type scenario, my favorite, but I Just. Cannot. Do It. with any amount of finagling. on Luke’s. And all the stopgaps I’m coming up with are ridiculous. “Snoke makes a projection of Luke attack Kylo, foreshadowing Luke’s projection of himself at the end” “Snoke makes a projection of SNOKE attack Luke, Kylo tries to ‘defend’ Luke and accidentally blows up the temple, foreshadowing his failure to blow up Luke’s projection at the end” These are all so bad. I’m realizing that I cut the Luke-projecting-himself element. Maybe uhhhhhh Luke realized that Snoke had been tampering with Ben’s mind and tried to temporarily cut off Ben’s access to the Force >_ Or asked Ben to close off the Force and Ben interpreted that as a threat, rapidly escalated things into a physical confrontation, pretty much accidentally did serious injury to Luke, and then panicked? I don’t know that’s still pretty shitty but I like the idea of this then leading to the world’s most melodramatic self-punishment on the subject, also could tie into “the vanity of the Jedi, thinking they own the Force!”)

0k that’s my tentative proposition. Luke explains this to Rey in five minutes or less, she’s like, “bye,” jumps down the hole. She is crying the whole time for reasons probably. For the record, I would keep a lot of the stuff with Kylo’s and her minds being bridged, or at least I would keep the fact of them being linked all throughout her time on the island—actually, wait, I got it, Kylo is one of the things waiting on the other side of Luke’s severed bonds, so when she goes to the pit she accidentally picks up on that. BTW the Force speech Luke gives her would be all about “bonds” and would be MUCH more Orson Scott Card as a consequence. So now Kylo’s manipulation to the tune of, When I was a child, the galaxy was so silent. Mother was there, and Uncle Luke was there, and everywhere else, silence. Don’t you know what it’s like to be alone? Imagine if someone had asked you—to shut your ears—and she’s like I STAYED ON JAKKU FOR 23 YEARS and smashes the mirror

Luke, extremely Force-hungover: oh

AND THUS, HUT EXPLOSION.

Then Rey and Luke have some kind of excitable shouted conversation in the pouring rain where Luke is like “he’s looking for me!” “YEAH, HE’S LOOKING FOR YOU.” “no, you don’t understand—he’s looking for me!” “HE’S LOOKING AT YOU RIGHT NOW, ACTUALLY.” “but he wasn’t—he disappeared for years! he did take my advice, in the worst way possible! i feel so connected!” “ARGHHHHH”

luke + rey pilot the millennium falcon resistanceward, she discovers he is also a backseat driver

Finn plot: I assumed in the first five minutes of the movie that the way the First Order was “tracking” the Resistance was through Finn, and I still think that makes the most sense/offers the easiest dramatic tension. I mean it’s cheap but whatever this is still a hypothetical Disney movie we’re talking about. Uh… I don’t know there are a bunch of directions you could take this but like … I guess playing on Rose’s initial hero-worship of Finn, make it a thing where… mm. Finn convinces her that the reason he’s sneaking onto an escape pod is because he’s nobly trying to save the Resistance by removing his implanted tracking beacon from the ship (there is no such device and he’s making this up, to the best of his knowledge); she comes up with the plan to uncouple the devices on-site, if they can sneak aboard the ship, because he’s Finn and it’s so important that he escape finally and for real! he makes up a bunch of mumbo-jumbo about First Order security and an expert codebreaker who might be their only hope, planning to lose her on Canto Bight; on Canto Bight, they have some uncomfortable conversation about growing up as slaves and the appeal of the Resistance, Finn maybe assuming that Rose joined for her sister’s sake? wrongly, blah blah extended annoying conversation about how there’s protecting the actual person and then there’s protecting the things that person would want to protect; Lando Calrissian arrests them for parking violations halfway through the conversation, which continues in the prison, where small child jailers throw bones and debris at them; he tries to ditch her in the confusion of the prisonbreak, she catches up to him and is Very Betrayed; then the First Order scoops them up because it turns out they were using Finn to track the Resistance, and the reason they managed to do so even at lightspeed was because Kylo Ren could detect Finn’s force signature. Because of how Force-sensitive Finn is.

Cue tragicomic re-recruitment sequence in which we POSSIBLY meet some of the other Knights of Ren, and also, Phasma is there, “helping.” Phasma: it’ll be just like endurance training! You LOVED endurance training! You did so well on all your diagnostics! Finn: …………………….

Finally Kylo kicks everyone else out and is very casually like hey are you and Rey force-bonded because for some reason she’s stopped talking to me and I’d really love to consult her about somethinggggg, I was wondering if she’d trust me more if I already had your support! Don’t you want revenge? I’m going to kill Snoke. It turns out my uncle loved me!

Finn: should you just say that

Kylo: I’ve been thinking it every day for the past fifteen years so I doubt he’s too worried

Finn: DO YOU NOT SEE THE ISSUE HERE

then unfortunately right at that moment he does actually hear Rey’s voice in his head. Some prior buildup with Rey actively reaching out toward Finn before that and being SUPER FRUSTRATED to constantly get Kylo. Rey: Finn, don’t worry, Master Luke has a plan, we’re coming for you! We’re .… . . crashlanding in the main docking bay and being arrested. Oh my g

I’m basically picturing Luke, like, uselessly draped over several stormtroopers’ unwilling arms because he’s so high on being In Tune With The Force Again, and oh btw the stormtroopers received orders to toss Luke to Kylo but bring Rey straight to Snoke—Kylo: fuck!!! He weirdly ignores Luke, seeming satisfied now that he’s gotten his validation from him. So then Finn and Luke are left alone under guard and Kylo storms off to confront Snoke.

Luke: mmmmmmmm. huh. hello.

Finn: Hey quick q if I’m so fucking Force-sensitive why can’t I read minds and control people’s wills

Luke: [surprised voice] Can’t you? I thought you didn’t want to

Finn: OH MY GOD, I HATE YOU PEOPLE

Luke: Or I could blow up all the electronics in this room, hold on

(later in the chase sequence finn mindcontrols hux and is like “oh god it was so SLIMY like holding an eel”)

Probably some dumb climax where Snoke makes a pitch to Rey re: Luke not training her, which is a true established thing in this version of TLJ, and tells Rey to kill Kylo because he (Snoke) can only afford one apprentice. Rey: are u serious, I actually kind of don’t want to murder him at this point, it seems like a lot of hassle. I want to learn, and you and Luke both suck—Kylo won’t you teach me

(Luke as Finn hauls him across, likely, a catwalk: Do you remember feeling like you couldn’t fit in, like you were always different? The one person you knew who wasn’t part of a whole?

Finn: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Luke: I’ll tell you a secret. That’s because you’re part of something bigger. Something much bigger than your squad, or Hux’s army, or even the Resistance. But you already knew that, didn’t you?

Finn: is it the jedi.

Luke: no. NO. i said BIGGER)

To be fair to Rian Johnson, I have no clue how to write a satisfying multipart star wars climax. something something where Kylo explodes grandpa’s lightsaber in order to finish off Snoke, and I guess takes unconscious Rey prisoner, is realistically how I would end this?? The triumphant Lando-restocked Resistance decloaks, but the First Order fleet turns tail and runs after a few rounds? Finn deliberately uses the Force to find Rose and trace a (reluctant, angry) path through the disintegrating star destroyer, goes with Luke and Rose on the Millennium Falcon, having fought off Phasma but sort of in a hurry? Rose maybe killed Hux? Idk what the reasoning for Finn agreeing to leave Rey would be, other than I guess “the awareness that Kylo wants to use him to manipulate her, however ineptly.” Rose probs involved somehow. Rose: It’s still important that you escaped. Finn: I HAVEN’T GOTTEN AWAY ONCE

end scene where Finn has just finished an offscreen argument with Luke about Luke training him in the Force, and therefore comes to Leia

end-end scene where they all hear Rey’s voice at once because she picked up telepathic specialization from Snoke, because it’s traditional that Rey gain wild new Force powers in every movie purely through observation.

end-end-end scene where Luke has an audibly two-sided argument with Anakin’s ghost behind a closed door (“I’m not the last Jedi. I should have been, but I’m not. It’s my duty—” “what duty. it’s been ten years you haven’t answered my calls” “Daaad.”)

Start of the next movie: Kylo: You know, I used our telepathic bond to mislead Snoke. Rey: cool, don’t care. Kylo: It is ironic because of how he used that same bond to manipulate me. Rey: RED MEN ARE GLISTENING

Here’s a bit of background:

It was first performed by students in 1879. The professional opening was January 29 1881 at the Bolshoi theater

It’s based on a verse novel (long poem) by Alexander Pushkin

It’s kind of a splice of multi-scenes in one person’s life rather than a straight continuous story

Themes: Love, Coming of age, Russia

Tchaikovsky kept most of story the same but shifted the main focus to emotions and more specifically Tatiana.

Act One

Scene 1

We open in the garden of Tatiana’s house. Larina, Tatiana & Olga’s mum sits with their childhood nurse, Filippyevna. Inside the house, the two sisters are heard together singing a love song.

Larina listens in and begins to reminisce about a sweetheart she had before marrying her now deceased husband.

She is interrupted by a group of peasants singing on their way home. They stop to entertain the Larina family with a lil’ SHOWTIME! It’s a fun party tune about two lovers.

When they are finished, Tatiana sighs to herself causing her sister to shit on her dreamy-emo-melancholic nature.

Larina send the peasants away with some wine and Olga points outs how pale Tanya is looking these days.

Tanya eases their fear telling them, “I’m just reading a mad interesting book. Don’t worry.”

Larina scolds her slightly for being so dreamy all the time and reminds her that life is not like the fiction novels she reads. Olga shuts them both up pointing out the window that her BAE, Lensky has finally arrived but he’s not alone… The two men enter the house and Lensky introduces his mysterious tag along as his homeboy, Eugene Onegin.

Tanya is instantly smitten with his tall, dark, and moody atmosphere.

The boys have an aside in which Eugene ask which one Tanya is and then ridicules Lensky for picking Olga instead of Tanya. He actually tells Lensky that Olga’s face resembles a stupid moon. Lensky for some reason isn’t offended. But whatever.

Tanya’s on the other side of the garden with Olga blushing and whispering about how handsome and attractive Eugene is.There’s a WONDERFUL quartet and when it breaks, Lensky and Olga run off to have some private time, leaving Tanya and Onegin together.

Their fucking banter is painful awkward because Tanya becomes a bumbling smitten school girl and Eugene Onegin is playing it TOO cool.

In contrast Lensky share this super cute love letter with Olga.

None the less, Tanya is still smitten with him and scene one ends with Filippyevna noticing the sudden change in her.

Scene 2

Tanya sits in her room with Filippyevna who tells her it’s time for bed. Tanya is restless and ask Filippyevna to tell her stories about her younger days of being in love. She starts to tell and realizes Tanya isn’t even paying attention! She begins to worry about her because Tanya’s all red and flushed. Filippyevna begins to think she’s sick but Tanya spits out SHE’S IN LOVE.

She asks for a paper and pen and is left alone with her thoughts.

Now is the very famous letter aria that seems to go on forever.

Tanya stays up all nights writing a thousand drafts of a love letters to Onegin.

(We’ve all been there girl.)

She finishes it in the early morning and nervously gives it to Filippyevna to giver to her grandson to deliver!

Scene 3

It’s the next morning in the garden, there’s a bit of a ditty from servant girls pickin’ fruit.

Tanya sits exhausted and nervous on a bench. ONEGIN IS IN THE BUIDLING!!!

She shits herself nervously regretting her lack of self control and he sneaks up behind her mad cool like. He’s like “Hey.. You wrote me this letter. Don’t deny it.”

And she’s like “UHHHH??” hahahaha.

Onegin continues telling her that her letter has stirred emotions he hasn’t felt in hella long… BUT HE CONTINUES (THEY ALWAYS CONTINUE) with a fabulous aria that breaks my heart every time, he tells her that he was not meant for married life, in fact he would be hella bored by it. He tells her he loves her…..like a brother, leaving her with a kiss and the advice of not being too open with her emotions because others may not be as kind as he.

Tanya watches him leave, flushed red and mortified.

Act 2

Scene 1

It’s been a few months and we’re at Tanya’s name day. For the Americans in the crowd, name day is the feast day of a saint after whom a person is named. It’s common in Europe and some people have told me it’s even more important than birthdays. The towns people sing her praises ; Onegin invites her to dance but grows annoyed after hearing the whispers of gossip from the townspeople. He gets annoyed at Lensky for dragging him to the party and decides to fuck with him by asking Olga to dance.

Lensky gets pissy but Olga laughs considering Onegin’s invitation has harmless flirting. The two go off to dance, while Lensky literally has a childlike meltdown in the middle of the party. (Like wtf dude, I know that your girlfriend but it literally is just one dance…) At the end of the ONE dance, Olga returns and Lensky freaks the fuck out on her, claiming she embarrassed him. He grows jealous of Onegin and claims that she keeps ignoring his invitation to dance but she has refused. (Again…it was one dance…) Olga reassures him that Onegin was just playing and there is no reason to be jealous. Lensky begins to cool down, but Onegin decides to be a dick again and joins the couple.

Lensky ask Olga to dance with him again, but Onegin cuts in and insist she must dance with him. She decides to dance with him again, punishing Lensky for his crazy jealous behaviour.

Just then Monsieur Triquet joins the party, he’s Tanya’s French tutor from back in the day and this part of the opera is virtually useless plot wise. But interesting operatically, Triquet sings in FRENCH! While the rest of the opera is in Russian! I’ve always found that fun. Sometimes this aria is sung by Lensky but that’s improper staging. The little song Triquet sings is about how wonderful Tatyana is and she kinds of sits embarrassedly. (Think, you at your birthday party while they sing happy birthday!)

At the end of Triquet’s song, there is more dancing and FINALLY Onegin returns Olga to her seat, where Lensky has been sulking. Onegin trolls him with a, “Ohhh why the long face??” And Lensky blows up, claiming that he’s a hoe for wanting both sisters. By this point he’s shouting and everybody at the party stops dancing to watch.

Onegin calls him crazy which makes Lensky even more furious and he dramatically declares that he and Onegin are no longer friends. The language is so childish and hilarious, even Onegin doesn’t consider him serious. He urges Lensky to calm down, which duh makes Lensky even more angry. He challenges Onegin to a duel the very next day! He storms out, ending the party.

Scene 2

Lensky sits in the woods the next morning, waiting for Onegin. Zaretsky, Lensky’s neighbor, a duel enthusiast and witness for the duel is like “wtf is this dude Onegin.”

Lensky reassures him he will be here, and lets his mind wander to the better days of his youth. (Btw, they’re like fucking eighteen or so at this point.)

Finally Onegin shows up. They sing a lil’ duet about regretting that it’s come to this. It’s kind of sad because this whole thing started so stupidly. But long story short, Onegin pops a cap in Lensky’s ass. And the act ends with a Onegin weeping over his bro’s dead bod.

Act 3

Scene 1

The curtains rise and we’re in the middle of a huge fucking party. It’s been a couple years since that morning in the woods.

The party is in full swing, but Onegin stands off to the side, mad bored. He sings an aria basically saying, “I’m a loser. I’m 25. I have no wife, no career!” He’s spent the past years traveling and looking for life fulfillment but has failed He’s been wandering thru life aimless and depressed since killing Lensky.

The party attendees do a lil’ dance and as it ends, Tanya enters with her new husband, Prince Gremin. The guest excitedly greet the pair, and Onegin’s like, “Hold UP. IS THAT TANYA????”

Across the room, Tanya’s like, “ONEGIN???”

Onegin ends up talking to Gremin and ask the identity of the mysterious women he is with, Gremlin’s like, “Oh? Tanya? My wifey. We’ve been married for two years. Do you know her??

In a cold sweat, Onegin says they used to be neighbours back in the day.

Gremlin then sings this huge long aria about how much he loves Tanya and it’s mad awkward because Onegin just kind of stands there. By the end, Gremlin brings Tanya over and introduces the two.

The exchange between the old pair so fucking cold, you would think Tanya’s a damn Vulcan.

They exchange small talk for a few seconds then Tanya tells Gremin she’s tired and they bounce.

Onegin watches them leave and reminisces about the past and then suddenly realizes, “OH FUCK. I’M IN LOVE WITH HER.”

Be sure to note the letter scene motif returns in this scene!!!!

Scene 2

Tanya sits at home, holding….A LETTER. Not hers from all those years ago, BUT A NEW ONE FROM ONEGIN! He has written her asking to meet. She’s trouble because despite his boorish behaviour in the past, he still makes her feel some type of way.

Onegin arrives, passionately, desperately and intensely. They stand staring at each other and the sexual tension is so strong you could feel it in family circle standing room.

Finally, Onegin falls to the floor in front of Tanya’s feet.

And she’s like, “ enough stop that. Do you remember that time you lecture me in the fucking garden?”

Onegin apologizes and ask her to spare him, BUT SHE CONTINUES,

“Yeah I was younger then and probably a better person. I loved you and what did I get? NADA. You were A DICK, but y’know what I’m a bigger person. I won’t blame you. But what’s your problem, why coming for me now? BECAUSE I’M RICH AND FAMOUS? BECAUSE I’M TAKEN???”

Onegin explodes back, telling her that he’s sorry and does love her and that he was a fool. Tanya begins to weep and the pair embrace each other. They both speak of the happy moments they shared in the distant past.

Onegin ask Tanya to run away with him. It’s sweet and intense. But Tanya says no. He begs and begs, and begs!!! Tanya says no, but she does admit she still loves him.

Onegin is thrilled and again encourages her to leave her husband. Tanya stands firm and says no.

This happens like 3 more times, and then Tanya’s like OK ENOUGH.

She walks out, her last words: “FAREWELL FOREVER.”

Onegin falls to the floor and succumbs to his horrible empty fate.

You were in the midst of sorting through the final box of your belongings, having just moved to a new city for your first job out of college. The apartment wasn’t anything fancy; bathroom, small kitchenette and an open plan space big enough for a bed, dresser and couch. It was on the 8th floor with a small balcony opening onto the street and the building was only a 30-minute walk or a short bus ride from your office.

You had found it only the week prior and had moved last minute, praying for something in your price range. The building manager was a short, greying Russian woman. Her blunt humour had amused you from the start. You thought back to your first viewing when you’d asked what the length of the lease would be and she had replied “yes or no?” You couldn’t stop yourself from laughing at her reply and it had gained you her favour when she offered you the apartment later that day.

You collapsed back against the couch when the final item was unpacked. Looking around your living space, you noted to buy a screen or a large bookcase to split the room. You also contemplated brightening the room with some plants, if you could keep these ones alive…

You quickly became bored, it was Friday evening and you didn’t start your new job until the following Monday, you also didn’t know anyone in this city. You had taken the job to ensure you could survive out of college as your family lived overseas, it was an entry level role with little pay but it was something you could hopefully progress in.

Stretching your arms to release the tension in your shoulder, you crossed the room and stepped out onto the small balcony. The sun was cascading light in every direction as it set behind the maze of concrete buildings and you felt the calm wash over you.

Leaning against the railings you looked down the street. The flashing fluorescent lights of a sign instantly catching your attention. It was a pink and red neon sign. The place was called ‘0 Mile’ and it had a red strangely shaped apple as the logo…maybe it was worth checking out. You googled the name and it came up as a bar. This could be a way to make friends with some people in your neighbourhood.

Catching sight of yourself in the mirror, you definitely needed to freshen up and get out of the sweatpants first. You threw on your favourite black skinny jeans, then a pale blue off the shoulder blouse and lastly a pair of navy flats for comfort. You brushed your hair out of the loose knot it was tied up in and applied a light touch of makeup. Much more presentable.

The walk to the bar only took five minutes and you wondered how dangerous to your bank account it would be having a bar this close. It was located down some steps under one of the high rises. Arriving at the entrance it was hard to tell it was even open. It was 8 pm so you decided to risk it and push the door open, it was unlocked.

You stepped in and felt like you were instantly in another world. The colour scheme was…. loud. The walls were half red, half black, split through the middle. It was a long room with the bar at the opposite end. There were booths stretching down the left-hand side and mismatched tables and stools scattered in the remaining space.

The floor had a black tiled path leading down to the bar like a catwalk and pink, purple and black camouflage carpet everywhere else. That’s when you finally noticed there was no one else around, not even a bartender.

You started to back up and leave, feeling embarrassed at the fact you had rudely walked into a closed establishment. But then, a deep voice suddenly called out from somewhere in the back, “Be out in a minute!”.

The voice was so deep it kind of boomed and made you jump in the silent atmosphere. You couldn’t tell if the owner was old or young, but now that you were caught you felt obligated to stay and stepped further into the space settling on a stool at the bar.

You felt nervous that you were alone in a bar with a stranger, albeit the owner, it was still a strange man and you were a lone woman in her 20’s who just moved to a city where no one knew you and wouldn’t even notice you’d disappeared and what if?

You were instantly startled out of your panicked inner thoughts when a large hand waved in front of your face and you were snapped back to reality.

“Oh! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to make you jump, I just wanted to know if you wanted to order anything?”

Your eyes jumped from the large hand and followed the voice to the face of its owner and your heart stopped.

He was beautiful, you were sure you’d never seen someone as beautiful as him in your entire life. He had the warmest brown eyes, that sparkled in the light and when he tilted his head slightly to the side you noticed he had the sharpest jawline, you swallowed hard trying to remember words.

“U-uh…do you h-have gin?” you blurted out tripping over the dryness in your throat.

He started chuckling, his lips curving up into dazzling smile, “Well, this is a bar, so we’ve even got more than one kind! It’s also happy hour right now so cocktails are half price”

You internally facepalmed at your own goddamn stupidity, smiling back sheepishly.

“Then, a cocktail, anything you’d recommend,” you said.

“Coming right up!“ he replied, smiling, before turning around, grabbing various bottles from the glass shelves lined against the mirrored back wall. You watched him for a while throw various liquids in a shaker, his back muscles flexing under his well-fitted white tee.

Feeling like you shouldn’t just sit here gawking at a stranger you decided to try and make conversation.

“The bar sign is pretty cool, do you know what the apple means?” you asked staring at your own hands, fiddling with the ring on your middle finger, trying to find something to do while you waited for that drink that you decided you definitely needed if you were going to make any conversation with this attractive man.

He instantly froze and slowly turned around, eyes wide and mouth open. You raised your brow at the dramatic display, instantly feeling on edge at his reaction.

Then his shoulders slumped and he sighed, ‘It’s meant to be a cherry bomb…” you instantly relaxed at his words “…my mom was a huge fan of Joan Jett, and it was one of my favourite songs so I thought it would make an interesting sign”.

You noticed his mouth had started to form into a pout and you snorted and raised your hands defensively, “If it helps I’m not wearing my glasses? Now that you mention it, it’s totally a cherry!”

He raised his eyebrow and shook his head, shaking the drink mixer vigorously.

“It’s ok, you don’t need to humour me, the place I got the sign made back when I first started up was a bit basic, but I’m kind of attached to it now,” he poured the purple mixture into a tall glass of crushed ice and placed it carefully on a napkin he had laid out ready.

“It’s called a purple rain and I’m not ashamed to say I make this for myself every once in a while”

You tentatively took a sip. It was delicious. You nodded and gave him a thumbs up to show you approved, and he continued to ramble, “This is probably none of my business, but you’re new to this neighbourhood right? I’ve lived here a while and I don’t think I’ve ever seen you around before. I’m Johnny by the way.”

He leant back against the bar, running long fingers through his floppy brown hair. It was longer in the front than the back and framed the features of his face perfectly.

You nodded at his words, making sure to take an extra large gulp of your drink before responding, “I moved here today actually.”

He looked at you surprised and then his eyes travelled around the bar and he groaned, “Wild crowd right?”

He stood upright, “I haven’t even put any music on! Your first impression of ‘0 Mile’ must be pretty low right now…I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name?”

He reached for a small remote by the cash register and pointed at a nearby speaker, acoustic guitar started playing softly in the background. You shook your head, “Not at all, I just got to try the best cocktail in the city”

His eyes lit up at your words.

“And my name’s Y/N,” you finished.

It was so easy talking to him and you discovered you shared a lot of the same interests in music and movies. Even food, you spent at least 10 minutes agreeing that breakfast was the best meal of the day, especially pancakes. You were usually more guarded, but he had this relaxed aura around him and he made you feel like what you were saying was the most interesting thing in the world.

Even when more customers started to trickle in slowly, he always came back to talk to you while he was free. You also learned that he was born in the city and had opened the bar two years ago after deciding that college wasn’t the right path for him. He was two years older than you and lived in the apartments above the bar. Two hours after you arrived the bar was practically full.

He introduced you to a few of his friends before it got too busy, he said he wanted to make sure you weren’t alone, only if you wanted to stay longer and they had come to drink and hang out. Their names were Taeyong, Ten and Jaehyun. They were just as handsome as the cheerful bartender but you couldn’t keep your eyes off him for long; even when he wasn’t talking to you and your new drinking buddies.

They made you feel included instantly, Taeyong asked you more questions about yourself and told you more about the city. Ten tried to drag you up to the small dance floor at one point which you utterly refused. After 2 more cocktails, you compromised and performed a short synchronised shoulder swaying routine from your seats at the bar, which had everyone in the group in stitches, you even saw Johnny’s shoulders shaking from the bar reflection as he tried to serve a customer. Then there was Jaehyun, who you later learned was Johnny’s roommate and best friend, he made jokes that left your sides hurting and he teased Johnny endlessly about his apple sign; after you let slip your earlier mistake.

You got home not long after two in the morning, Ten had insisted that he and Taeyong walk you down the street, “It’s on the way to the bus stop and we have to make sure our new friend gets home safe!”

You collapsed onto your soft welcoming mattress, feeling your head spin slightly. Had you drunk that much? You remembered nearly getting into a heated debate with Johnny over paying your bill, which he ended up winning with “…but new customers get a free drink!” Or five.

You had flashes of the way his face scrunched up in annoyance and how cute he looked pretending to be angry with you. You closed your eyes and held onto that image a little longer.

You woke with a start when a car backfired outside your window and groaned, realising you were still in the clothes from yesterday. You reached blindly to retrieve your phone from the bedside table to check the time, it was only 8:00 am and you rolled back over to get comfortable.

There was also a text from an unknown number, and for a moment, you couldn’t think who would be texting you. A stupid grin spread across your face at the words and you kicked your feet against the mattress in excitement.

“If you aren’t feeling too hungover, how about pancakes tomorrow at 10 am. I know a great place =) - Johnny”

Hello, it's been... an astonishing long time. From losing the password to this account to losing the password to my email to losing interest in RPing altogether due to my sporadic interests/mind and difficulty IRL for the past three years, I'm a completely new person. Which is such a dramatic thing to say in a roleplay ad! What I mean is I've finally gotten over some horrible stuff and become a much more reliable partner.

Anyway: hi, I'm Sil. Or Ven, if you recall me from my back-up account before I lost my password/email I'm 21 now. And marginally less flaky than I was even three months ago, not to mention three years ago. If we've roleplayed in the past, you have my deepest apologies, since I often dropped RPs. I'm a new soul, now! And more than willing to accept rekindled partners as well as new ones. I promise I'm more adjusted now.

[lvl 2]: basics

As the title and my overly-dramatic intro paragraph states, I'm touching back to my earliest roleplaying roots and hitting Percy Jackson up again. I'm looking exclusively for M// at the moment between OCs. I've got a decent amount of plot bunnies, but I don't want this ad to be too lengthy. Just trust me when I say that I've got plot ideas that stretch from fluffy/lighthearted to serious/dark. Action/adventure is a theme in all of them, though, so I hope you don't mind plots with journeys and quests.

☾I'm looking for a partner who is 19+. Bare minimum. I prefer 20+ now that I'm 21, but I'll take partners 19 or older.

☾I write smut. I don't like having set top/bottom characters; either I play switch.

☾I roleplay in third person. Past tense. Multi paragraphs, if not novella. I write a lot! U have been warned.

Don't be alarmed if I'm typing pretty decently ooc and then suddenly am not capitalizing anything and everything's full of abbreviations; I'm on my phone if that's the case. I type properly in action RP threads, though, don't worry! ☾Speaking of talking ooc, I enjoy it. A lot! I get invested. I send links to videos that remind me of our OCs. I make aesthetic boards. I draw. Basically I like making friends and getting excited about our characters together.

☾My limits are the universal ones. Noncon/dubcon, watersports/toilet play, pedophilia, incest, bestiality, anything with underage characters, domsub - things along those lines. I'm pretty vanilla and prefer to keep it that way, if you don't mind!

☾I love... romance. I don't come off as a romance fan, but like. I am. I will admit that. Pining is my thing. I'm a sucker for romance tropes. Romantic tension kills me. (In a good way!)

☾I can't write large casts like I used to. I've had trouble in the past but tried to push through it, but I'll be frank now and state that I can't do more than doubling. If you want to double or even triple, let me know and we can do that! But it's neither a requirement or priority. I can't write more than three main characters or I WILL die. I used to be able to write, like, six main characters, and now I look back on old me like bitch... WHERE did that energy come from.

Alright, I wrote way too much! Just scanning all that is a bit boring, so I'm sorry you have to shoulder through it. I won't get too much into plots since that's something I'll toss your way when we get into contact, but I will bring up some character ideas.

I love mismatched pairings of all kinds. I have a lot of PJO OCs since I got into it when I was in middle school, but I've narrowed them down to a main trio I've never really gotten to use but have always loved. I've got a son of Zeus, a son of Hephaestus, and a mortal than can see through the Mist that I'd really like to use in particular, but I think characters depend on the roleplay. I do, however, definitely want to do a quest at the minimum. Traveling and battling monsters along the way, godly grudges, mythological glories, major prophecies: it's all my thing right now. I have a few mythological items we can have in our roleplay, as well! I'm by no means a mythological expert, but I do like incorporating actual myths into the story. Whether we stick with a little group on a quest or just a duo, anything is good with me.

I should add that all characters will be 19+! I'd prefer to get into the lives of older demigods. In the OG series, they always go on about how the life of a half-blood is horrible and they don't often live to adulthood, but the books don't actually get into the big bad dangers of being an older demigod. That'd be something I'd really love to explore.

Comparing Two Film Trailers

The two film trailers I will be comparing are 'Free Willy' and 'Dead

Again'. These two film trailers are totally different, 'Free Willy' is

adventure/magical trailer whereas 'Dead Again' is horror/mystery

trailer. The purpose of these two film trailers is to engage the

audience's attention, to make them want to see the film and to leave

them wondering what will happen next. In 'Free Willy' the target

audience is young children; this encourages pester-power, which is one

of the most effective methods of advertising and is used by most U

rated or PG rated films. Pester-power means the children 'pester'

their mum and dad to take them to see the film. The majority of the

'Free Willy' trailer is quite slow paced through-out the film, this is

to show its magical and dreamy style and a slow pace suits this well.

However when the trailer gets to dramatic scene's the pace of the

trailer gets faster. This is to give the audience the sense of

anticipation, of expectance the fast pace keeps up with the furious

and fast paced scene. The film 'Free Willy' is generally a slow paced

film tralier, it makes it easier for the young children to understand.

In the 'Free Willy' film trailer it also show the beginning, middle

and ending of the plot giving a good idea of the story line but also

leaving agonizing parts of the story out, this is a very good method

of making people eager to see the film. The trailer by showing the

start, middle and finish shows the parents know that it is suitable

for their children, this is important because it puts a positive image

instantly into the adults mind rather than a film they may consider

unsuitable for their children The basic story line of 'Free Willy' is about

A boy who befriends a whale, the whale is caught and put into captivity

Resulting in the boy trying to free willy and put the whale back where he

Came from. This is quite a dramatic story line with lots of action.

In 'Dead Again' however, in contrast the target audience is

adult/teenagers. 'Dead Again' is quite fast paced through-out the film

trailer, but gets even faster at more dramatic scenes this can be

compared with 'Free Willy'. 'Dead Again' is about a woman and a man

and a pair of barber's scissors. The women dreams that she had in a

previous life been murdered by some barber scissors, and now its

really happening. This film trailer has lots of twists and turns in it

and at times can be hard to follow.

One of the contrasts in the two film trailers are the different shot

types that they both use. 'Free Willy' uses a low angle up shot while

the whale is in the air over the young boys head, which adds more

drama and excitement, the trailer also uses dolly shots which add more

pace to the film and makes it more tense and they use over the

shoulder shots so you can see who he is talking to this is so you can

understand who is talking and so you can see both the people as well

as just one of them. 'Dead Again' uses close ups which emphasis the

man coming out of the darkness, to show he is malicious, symbolized by

the coming out of the darkness just as evil would. They also use close

up views of newspapers from the past which shows that the future and

past are interlocked. This helps give the viewer bits of the story and

makes them want to go and see the film to fill in the gaps.

Another contrast that is clear from both trailers is the editing,

'Dead Again' is a fast paced trailer which means dramatic, tense film

with twists and turns in it. 'Free Willy' is slow paced; it allows the

children to absorb the information from the film trailer. The editing

in 'Dead Again' is fast and used wisely. In 'Free Willy' the editing

is used at quite a slow pace for the children to understand the film ,

but at more dramatic scenes the editing gets faster it is alos used

wisely.

Lighting is an important part of any film production and we can make

several comments about the lighting from both these trailers. In 'Free

Willy' at the beginning the sun is reflecting on the sea, it all looks

happy and tranquil, but when the whale gets caught and put in

captivity the lighting is quite dark to reflect how the whale is

feeling and the general mood of the film. When however the young boy

comes along the lighting brightens up because the whale is happy and

not alone any more and the whale knows that the young boy understands

how he is feeling and that the young boy is trying to help him. At the

beginning of 'Dead Again' the lighting is dark and mysterious it

creates the feeling that it is going to be full of twists and turns

and that it's a mysterious film. So much darkness emphasizes the fear

of the unknown. People generally want the unknown to be explored this

is used here as a good advertising technique people are scared of the

unknown so want to explore it so they know what is there by going to

see the film they can do this.

Dialogue is considered by some as the most important part of the In

'Free Willy' the young boy's voice is gentle and soothing, he also

talks slowly and clearly so the young children watching the film can

understand what he is saying. In 'Dead Again' the tone of voice used

is threatening, the actors voice is very sinister and makes you think

that he's the killer; the voice adds more mystery and evilness. Alomst

scaring the viewers into seeing this film.

Voice-over's also play a part in these trailers. In 'Free Willy' a

mans deep, but clear voice is the voice-over the voice has to be clear

for the children understand, it also adds more detail to the film

trailer. In 'Dead Again' the voice-over adds more detail and makes the

film trailer more mysterious and scary, this is shown in the voice

which is threatening , frightening and bold.In 'Dead Again' the use of

a voice over is used to add that extra dimension to the trailer the

film would still be there without it but it adds that little bit

extra.

The Sound effects in these two trailers also help to add to their

effect. In 'Dead Again' they use heavy breathing, screaming,

lightening and scissors slashing for a jumpy nervous effect imposed on

the audience this helps capture and keep their attention. All the way

through the trailer they maintain a mysterious background, they also

use thunder at more dramatic scenes and the music also gets louder. In

'Free Willy' they use natural sounds e.g. of the ocean and the whales

voice. It makes the beginning tranquil and peaceful, but when the

whale gets caught the sound effects go away because music comes on, it

adds more drama and excitement than just sound effects. In 'Dead

Again' the scissors slashing at the end adds more drama and tension as

it finishes with a question as to what did the scissors just slash,

what happened, leaving the viewer questioning and wanting to go see

the film for answers.

The location of the two pieces also contrasts strongly 'Free Willy' is

set in the hills near the sea and a marina because of the whale it has

to be set near these places and also because the main focus is the

whale. 'Dead Again' is set in the city, but most of the scenes are

inside ; this is because it reflects the way the woman feels, she

feels boxed in because she feels she can trust no one.

Music is a key part in the trailers, in 'Free Willy' the music is

smoothing, calm and relaxing it creates a tranquil environment, the

music builds up at more dramatic scenes, the music used is classical,

it reflects the gentle friendship that builds between the young boy

and the whale. At dramatic scenes the tempo gets faster and louder,

major scales make things sound happy and minor scales makes thing

sound sad both of these techniques are used in the film trailer. At

the end the music builds up to a climax as the plot develops. In 'Dead

Again' they use drums, symbols, organs and violins, the music gets

louder at more dramatic scenes. As each drum beat is heard the tension

grows, as the drama unfolds the music gets louder and also adds more

instruments in to it, this makes the atmosphere eerie. The plucking of

the double base adds even more eeriness. There is a drum roll at the

end and drum rolls always leads up to something exciting this leaves

the viewer in suspense.

Visual effects in the trailers are fairly straight forward. In 'Free

Willy' there are not really any visual effects, as it is a children's

film. 'Dead Again' uses lighting, black and white to reflect the past

events and that the film is not just straight forward one of the

visual effects used is spinning newspapers to the setting of the past.

The costumes in the trailers vary greatly 'Free Willy' uses solely

1990's causal clothing (American clothing). This is for a naturalistic

feeling as that is the feeling wanted to be represented by the

director.

'Dead Again' uses 1940s and 1990s clothing the 1940s clothing is for

the past events.

Overall both trailers use different effects to great use. 'Dead again'

using the chilling music and sound effects to really set up the horror

genre and make the viewer want to see the rest of the film. 'Free

Willy' however is more concerned with the feel good factor and

pester-power of the trailer making seeing the full film a necessity.
