I see a staggering amount of manipulative disinformation on the internet daily, but I am gonna have to draw the line at the post I saw the other day that said something positive about Ronald Reagan. We on the left cannot horseshoe our way into saying a single good thing about that man! Ever! Not to be old (in my thirties) online but the horrors that he enacted that still impact us today are easy to find! Sure most people, even awful ones, had good qualities, but I assure he did not this has been PSA.
nikolai lantsov and giving someone a second chance is like giving someone another bullet 'cause they missed the first one
long live the liar
thinking thoughts. *ೃ༄ i dont know if this was meant to be angst but. tada?
pairing: nikolai lantsov x wife!reader
fandom: grishaverse
warnings: very obvious cheating, implied s*x, angst <3 sadly, zoya is a bad guy in this </3
“i— y/n, just wait!”
nikolai chased his wife through the halls, one hand in front of his pants to keep them from falling. when she has entered, they had been unbuckled and had been halfway down his thighs.
he had been with zoya.
“no, nikolai!” she shrieked. she whipped around to face her ex-beloved. tears streamed down her face, running tracks through the makeup genya had so carefully applied moments before.
“please.” he dropped down onto his knees and clasped his hands, looking up at her.
zoya tumbled out of his office, fixing the last strap on her gown. she smirked at the sight and sneered, “almost had ya there, your whoreness.” then, to his wife, “think you might need to reapply your makeup, sweetheart.” she waved her fingers and proceeded downstairs, to the ball being held in the queen’s honor.
“y/n—“
“how long.”
nikolai looked down at his knees. “two months.”
y/n scoffed. “so you’ve been lying to me. your wife.”
“im sorry, y/n. please, my love, give me a second chance.”
she laughed, a sound short and hysterical that sent chills down the king’s spine. “giving someone a second chance is like giving someone another bullet because they missed the first one.”
a servant walked past at that moment. they startles, then bowed deeply. “long live the king.”
they scurried away, leaving the king and queen alone.
“long live the liar,” she spat, turning and running towards the end of the hall.
nikolai kneeled there, looking at the space his love once occupied. “long live the liar,” he mumbled sadly, wiping away tears.
“Blah blah blah reign of terror and destruction and fiery pits of inferno will swallow us whole. Yep, yep, move along, no time for monologue.”
At the hero’s speedy, jumbled sentence filled with audacity, the villain raised an eyebrow.
“I beg your pardon?”
“If you must beg, do it quickly.”
The villain promptly relaxed their previously proud poise to place their hands on their hips, not caring for this tone the hero had picked up.
“You misunderstand, dear. I do not care for you being so snide. You show up to fight me, all of me, you cannot demand one part or the other.”
Seeing that this was going nowhere, the hero also relaxed, huffing slightly.
“I wasn’t aware that being a criminal came with an annoying soliloquy requirement. Seriously, I don’t have time for your neediness, I have things to get back to.”
Neediness?
Neediness?
“That was unnecessarily rude.”
The hero stayed silent for a moment, eyes wide and unblinking, taking a slow and deep breath before once again opening their mouth.
“Would you feel better if I let you monologue?”
The villain crossed their arms. “Well now I don’t feel like it. What’s so important anyways? It seems as though the person who keeps you in business as a hero should be a higher priority.”
“There was a robbery on the other side of the city. I got the hostages out, but I need to go back and look for the thieves in case they try their luck any further tonight. Yeah, you take criminal priority, which is the only reason I’m here and not stopping them. So if we can get this done?” The hero made a vague motion with their hand before resuming their fighting stance.
The villain’s jaw clenched as they kept their arms crossed.
“I didn’t realize that’s how you felt, Hero.” They said stiffly, looking away only slightly.
“What the f—are you crying?”
“No! No, I’m not crying. Of course you have other people to fight, it makes sense, it’s a big city.” The villain sniffed. “I just thought that you made time for me.”
“I–I–I am making time for you, right now. But, ah, do you want me to come back later? After I caught the thieves? If you would just put this on hold, I’ll come back, and we can pretend I caught the thieves earlier, and you’ll have all the time in the world.” They clapped their hands together. “Monologue to your heart’s content, I will listen with open ears.”
The villain turned back around, frantically wiping their face. “Really? You would do that?”
“Yep. Mhm. Scout’s honor. Second I get them, we can just restart.”
“You would get rid of them just so we could have more time?”
“They’ll go straight to jail. I will pick them up and fly them there, won’t even fight them. You will be the top fighting priority.”
The death ray powered down.
“I’ll wait right here!”
The hero nodded enthusiastically, giving a thumbs up as they flew away, not sure how to respond to the beaming villain waving at them.
Once they were out of sight, the hero squealed.
Finally, the jealousy plan was working.
They wiped away the excitement on their face as soon as they landed on the ground, needing to practice that cool and neutral exterior for whenever they faced the villain again.
Now to wait twenty minutes, enough time to catch some fake thieves, and they could go back to the villain.
The hero couldn’t wait to hear that beautiful monologue.
flashbacks to dialogue that happened less than a minute ago are annoying and a little insulting for obvious reasons, unless it's in bad buddy episode 5 [2/4] and pat is having entirely serious sepia toned flashbacks to fifty seconds ago while almost shoving a set of drumsticks he hasn't even paid for yet up his nose. then it's brilliant and world changing
the crown is an amazing show because there's like four different episodes where this guy is cheating on his wife at every available opportunity and also bragging about it to all his buds in written communication and he's somehow surprised and devastated that she ends up divorcing him (and so are like half of his colleagues, for some reason)
Breathe has a fun and flirty pair of new shoes for you at the current round of The Fifty Event. These shoes are adorable because they have a mid-height wedge base and a cute large band over the top of your feet that resembles what you’d see on a pair of rocking summer flip-flops. A thin ribbon goes from the wide strap up to your ankle and wraps all around to finish in a delicate but perfectly…
My Global Studies students finished watching Promises today. I wasn't totally pleased with how it went because some students lost their movie questions between last class and this one, some of them kept getting off task and not giving the film the attention it needs. Still, for those who were engaged, it was great; they got to learn a lot about what the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict was like for kids around their age, and what challenges they all faced. I'll show the epilogue next week. First, they're going to learn why the Oslo Accords failed and then why Second Intifada broke out (since that's the point at which the epilogue was filmed). The end of the film did tee that up pretty well, though, so I'm glad I showed it even if it wasn't a total success.
My APGOV students had the whole block today to do exam review, except for the bit when President Biden gave an address about the recent campus protests. We paused what we were doing to watch that and discuss it. And we'll definitely come back to world affairs once the exam is over. We'll also be tackling state and local government, which is actually fun because, in many ways, there's nowhere else like NH anymore.
It was raining off and on all day, so most of this afternoon's games and practices were canceled. The track kids kept asking me if our practice would be canceled, and I kept saying no. Obviously, that's up to The Head Coach, not me, but I knew he was going to say our practice would be on. And, really, it wasn't bad. The temps were in the 50s, not super cold, and the rain mostly held off; we just got a little drizzle towards the end. The sprinters did a set of four timed 40s with a walk (the remainder of the lap) in between, and they were flying fast. It was so good.
