you can find other zoro fics here: Naomi's archive
pairing: zoro x fem reader
tags: hurt/comfort, fluff, consumption of alcohol
summary: One would expect the swordsman to unwind after a battle, but there are times when he can't help but think. Alcohol doesn't always come in handy when a specific crewmate he grew fond of cuddled a tad bit too close to his heart.
word count: 3.3k
theme song: 'Daylight' by David Kushner
A/N: It can be imagined with both anime and opla Zoro. I don't know if he's slightly ooc or not, but I genuinely wanted to dig into this side of a relationship with the swordsman. The awkward times when he's getting used to it and simply accepting everything as a new part of his life.
I didn't forget about my multi chapter fiction, I just didn't find the inspiration for the 8th chapter. I couldn't help but write this for my own comfort and I want to mention that this original art of @tea917339 inspired me (check it out, it's absolutely amazing!!!)
I'm always open for your opinions and comments, so don't be shy about sharing your thoughts with me! <3

Usually, nights with the Straw Hats were lively, even after battles that left the crew members injured and bleeding. They would pick each other up and cheer up by simply bickering — that's what Zoro thought.
The same way Luffy's hand extended to help him back on his feet after he plopped down on the ground to rest. The same way Zoro reassured Chopper after the kid tried his best not to get emotional afterwards. The same way Sanji threw some remarks and the swordsman spat back in annoyance. And, for fuck’s sake, Nami reminded him for the tenth time that day he owes her berry for something he completely forgot about. Usopp was sighing in relief every time he remembered they escaped with life again while Robin agreed with a soft smile on her face. Truly, it was almost insane — Zoro wouldn't exactly call that a miracle because he's doubtful of its existence.
However, he couldn't bring himself to cheer up once the celebration of their victory was over and everyone went into their rooms. He was on the night watch and all he found himself capable of doing was burying in memories of all kinds, be it happy or not. With not enough alcohol in his system yet, it was rather hard to push those thoughts into the back of his head.
The swordsman sat on the deck, his back resting against the wooden cabin. Hidden from prying eyes, he found peace in the temporary silence. Rare were the times when the crew was so peaceful and it was usually during the night, when they were asleep, because otherwise they would've caused a mayhem.
The side of his mouth curled upwards at that thought. It was equally annoying and endearing, since in the months spent with them he found a lot of things about himself. Like the fact that he found his crew to be a family, like the way he sometimes found peace even in the chaos caused by them.
Or like the presence he grew way too fond of along the way. That witch — she truly was one, judging by the effect she had on him. Only a spell could've made his mind get so clouded, only some unknown force could've managed to soften his edges so well. She joined the crew from the first day and he believed that a spell had been casted upon him since the first time they gazed at each other.
Right. Zoro gulped down. The effect she had on him was equally annoying and pleasant.
Annoying because he should've focused on his promise to Kuina, not get lost in between fairytales. He wasn't by any means the charming prince riding a white horse and he didn't intend on becoming one anytime soon. It filled him up with feelings unknown to him. Zoro might be a fan of adventures and he had rather insane ideas — as one might say —, but such sentiments were an entirely new path to walk on.
First and foremost, it bothered him the fact that he wasn't sure he could fulfill both his promises and whatever the fuck was going on between him and the witch. He couldn't pinpoint what was happening, it was all in a blur, even if everything was clearing up whenever he saw her.
That's when he's reminded why he likes their relationship — what kind of, he didn't know. When he saw her, there were always sparkles in her eyes and the smile on her face would grow wider, lines of happiness appearing on her cheeks. The curl of her lips would make his heart skip a few beats and he would relax his shoulders unconsciously. Eyes filled with joy looked at him as if he was the very reason behind her purest sensations.
Also, not to mention how warm the depths of his chest felt when she was near. The heat would rise to his cheeks, which he sometimes found uncomfortable, but Zoro never ran away. A side of him wished so badly to go the other way and never look back, ignore her and those stupid damned feelings, but he never gathered enough courage to do so. Every single time, he would remain stuck, with his eyes stuck on her frame and fingers aching to touch and lips tingling to kiss.
God fucking dammit.
With a curse rolling off his tongue casually as he closed his eyes, the back of his head collided with the wooden wall he rested his back against. Zoro sat with his knees bent and feet planted onto the floor, only his Wado Ichimoji in his proximity. With its hilt glued to his shoulder, the sheathed sword was in between his fingers. By that time, he held it for comfort.
If that's what he could call it. The swordsman wasn't sure what else to associate it with. Or was it familiarity? The white sword was the only memory he had of a long lost friend and his first home at the dojo, by the side of his sensei. It was the only object tying him to his past, to his beginning, to times when he was much weaker, but determined nonetheless.
To care about his promise was familiar. Zoro wouldn't give it up — proof was the simple fact that he still achieved to become the strongest swordsman in the world. One day, he will meet Mihawk again and when he does, he will be stronger than the first time he encountered him at Baratie.
Looking back, it's been so long since. So long since a new life appeared before his eyes and he accepted it with no hesitation. He was a pirate, a Straw Hat, Luffy's first mate. The swordsman swore to help his captain achieve his own dream.
Those promises were familiar. The erratic heartbeats caused by the witch weren't. The sensation settling in the pits of his stomach when her gentle fingers would brush over his arm weren't. It was foreign and it didn't sit well with him.
Kuina.
He still saw her face in his dreams sometimes and it was usually her ghost haunting him. Other times, in her place would be one of his friends and each time it was harder to fall asleep.
When awake, memories of her replayed so vividly in his mind. Swords clashing together and whistling as they cut the air in half. A grin brightening up Kuina's face when he would fall on his butt and cuss her out again. They promised that one of them would become the greatest, but he was the only one capable of that, because her bones lay in a grave somewhere far away.
Zoro opened his eyes and stared at the night sky with scars scattered all over it. A calming view, even if there was tumult inside of him, hidden in between ribs that broke with each new pump of his heart. His brown eyes fell to the floor and he crossed his arms on top of his knees, gripping the sword tighter. His chest puffed up with air when he inhaled and he let out a heavy sigh.
“Zoro?” a soft whisper made him jump out of his thoughts.
The swordsman snapped his head and he was greeted by the sight of someone he didn't even know he was searching for. A side of him wished to say something along the lines of “fuck off” while the other side desperately wanted to soak into her presence.
A witch, indeed.
His eyes ran up and down her figure. She didn't seem surprised to find him there, in a rather hidden spot, which meant she didn't search for too long. Did she even search for him or did she also wish to be alone for a while? The first place to search for someone during night shifts was the crows nest.
She held two bottles of what he guessed to be alcohol and she swung them carefully before stepping closer. His chest tightened and he found it harder to breathe, even if it was inevitably easier than before at the same time. For some reason, she had that effect on him.
Maybe he knew that reason all too well, but he just avoided thinking of it.
“You told me we'd drink something together,” she reminded him in that warm voice of hers.
The sweet melody that calmed his nerves.
He didn't know what kind of energy radiated off him, but her behavior was far more gentle than usual. She wasn't hesitant, the witch never hesitated around him, she was just mindful of her actions and words.
He didn't know why for a second he saw understanding in the curl of her lips when she crouched down. Unconsciously, Zoro knitted his eyebrows together in confusion at her gestures.
The bottles hit the floor and she let go of them. Her eyes sparkled like they always did, but there was something different that time — a warmth they held only when she comforted Chopper or encouraged Usopp. Warmth similar to the shy rays of the sun of the morning, when the cold is still lingering and there's a specific scent in the air. Gentleness he only ever saw in her, because Luffy's kindness was different.
A warmth so humane that was visible for the crew alone or those in need of it.
The witch recognized something in his demeanor and Zoro had no clue what that was about. He could only see it in her gaze.
“I suppose it isn't really the perfect time for me to butt in, hm?” she whispered.
Like a promise only for him to hear. A secret.
“How'd you find me here?” he found himself speaking before he thought it through.
The question made her shrug.
“I pick up easily on your energy. It's quite unmistakable, y'know?”
There it was — one of the main reasons why she had the nickname of Witch both on the ship and outside of it. She's spoken about that for a few times and he had to admit he understood what she meant. However, the swordsman only felt those “energies” (as she liked to call them) in specific moments. He remembers that time in Lougetown when everything felt like energy instead of palpable objects, the reason why he won that fight.
Sometimes he seriously wondered if she hadn't met his sensei at some point in her life.
“What is it like?” once again, he asked before thinking.
The witch pulled her lips in a tight line and hummed, gathering the right words to describe it. Her gaze bounced around and she grimaced once, when she probably found her choice of words to be unpleasant or inappropriate — she always scrunched her nose when it was difficult to find the proper terms.
“It's sharp, but warm. Kind of steady, constantly flickering. For example, Luffy's energy is always all around the place and Chopper's gets out of control easily. Robin has the steadiest energy of all of us, even if it was kind of… strange lately.”
Zoro arched his eyebrow at the last piece of information and only received a hand waving through the air.
“Ignore the last part, I'm still figuring it out myself. No need to worry.”
The swordsman knew the energy she was talking about was different than what he felt when she was in presence, but he wondered if whatever laid in her heart interfered with her ability to distinguish his being from the others.
He watched as the witch looked at the bottles next to him and then clicked her tongue, deep in thought.
“I don't know if they'd help you tonight, but I'll let you be.”
None of those words were accusatory. They were all coming from a place of kindness and patience.
Suddenly, her fingers curled around his bicep, below the bandana wrapped around his arm. Skin on skin, her touch was hot and pleasant, even if very confusing.
What was she thinking?
His puzzled feelings were written on his face. Uncertainty laid in his dark brown eyes and his fingers held onto the sword tighter. He didn't even notice when the grip on his Wado Ichimoji loosened up.
Her gaze was reassuring as ever and she gently rubbed her thumb into his tensed muscles.
Zoro had to at least admit to himself that vulnerability was uncomfortable. Without spoken words, she picked up on it.
“I don't know for sure if I'll get to sleep tonight, so you could cut your night shift in half.” She's having issues with nightmares again? he silently wondered. “I'll be in my room, reading. Do what you see fit.”
Instantly, she was back on her feet with her back straight and walked away. The swordsman didn't know what happened or what he should understand.
He was utterly and completely confused. What just happened?
Oh. The witch gave him space and time to think. She also told him where she was in case he decided to grip at the promise of comfort and hold tightly onto it. The opportunity laid right in front of him and he was the only one to decide whether he used it to his advantage or not.
Zoro didn't notice when his shoulders relaxed. His body wasn't as tense as a few minutes ago, his back didn't feel as stiff. The exhale he left wasn't heavy anymore.
The swordsman knew what this was about. Maybe it was the time to just accept his feelings and get on with it. He had to suck it up and deal with it, even if dealing with her wasn't the right way to word it out. It always felt more like she was dealing with him.
With closed eyes, he remembered the last time her lips brushed by his. Gosh, it was so hot and his blood was bubbling like lava in his veins. It wasn't an accident, he intended on kissing her back with fever, but he had a hard time accepting everything. It was… weird. Facing that reality was troublesome.
She has yet to lose her patience. The witch remained firm and each one of her questions were answered by gestures instead of words — something familiar for him. She was far more skilled with expressing herself even when sensitive topics came up.
That was a miracle. Her presence alone could be compared to a miracle because it was completely unexpected and somehow always caressing him the right way. It was scary how accurately she could read him and the same applied to him.
The sky before his eyes continued to sparkle with stars and he remained still in his place. His fingers caressed the scabbard of his sword as he blinked in the darkness, the chill air of the night invading his lungs.
It was complicated and so simple at the same time. Zoro knew the answer — he just had to come to terms with it.
Tumblr media
Just as age promised, the witch sat on the bed in her room with a blanket warming her up. The lamp on the nightstand by her side casted a golden light over the pages of a book sitting in her lap. It was hard to focus on the story — a captivating part of pirate's history, sometime before the appearance of Gold D. Roger.
Her thoughts were followed by the swordsman. Zoro's mood was… sad at best. She didn't expect to find him in that state, but she quickly came to the conclusion that leaving him alone might do him good.
She tapped her finger over the pages of the old book and clicked her tongue. Was it right to leave him? The witch never saw him in a similar mood and she also realized she didn't know how to help him. There could be a lot of ways to bring him back to earth or at least keep him afloat. Those ways were only known by him. All she could do was guess and hope for the best outcome.
Heavy footsteps echoed on the other side of the door. When it opened wide, there was Zoro's tall silhouette, his white sword in his hand and one bottle of alcohol in his other. He came closer, his face hard as a stone. The pink hue painting his cheeks was the only detail giving away the fact that he drank one of the bottles she brought hours ago.
“Why aren't you sleeping yet?” he said with a gruff voice as he plopped down on the mattress.
There were only a few hours left before the sun would rise up from the sea.
“You've probably guessed already,” she averted her eyes from his figure.
“Nightmares again?”
The witch only nodded, eyes focused on the book. Zoro let the sword against the couch.
“I won't fall asleep, so you could as well take a night off,” only then she looked at him again.
His darkened eyes have been locked on her since he entered the valley. The witch wanted to move, to eventually get away from his knowing gaze, but she knew there was no possible way to do it.
“Are you alright?” she blurted out.
She had to fill that silence with some kind of conversation. Maybe that wasn't exactly the wisest decision, considering his shoulders visibly tensed and he straightened his back. A frown appeared on her face. She regretted talking.
The witch figured out he needed more time to sort his thoughts.
“Why don't you go to sleep?” she tilted her head to the side. “The fight has worn us all out. You could rest for a while.”
“And you?”
“We'll be sailing for a few days. I can sleep ‘till afternoon.”
“Nothing will happen for as long as you're on this ship with us,” the reassurance slipped so easily. “Do you trust us?”
“More than anything,” the witch responded with a faint smile.
Several weeks ago, her answer and reaction would've been so different. She made so much progress since she first met them, her trust now fully laying in their palms. Long ago, she would've backed away at such a question and, if they were lucky enough, the witch would admit she “needs time to adjust”.
At first, all he did was lean close enough for his shoulder to touch hers. The swordsman only intended to enjoy some peace while he shared his booze with the witch. From time to time, she'd gulp from the bottle and then give it back to him before continuing her lecture. After each two minutes, the room would be filled by the rustling of pages.
It didn't last long until he fell into her trap and tiredness dragged him glued to her. With his head in her lap, Zoro bumped his nose in her thigh. The witch's fingers ran through his hair and he let out an audible exhale, eyes closing instantly. Greeted by darkness, he felt warm not only on the inside. The blanket she curled around herself earlier was now covering his upper body as he sunk into the soft mattress and her.
One of his hands curled around her knee and he dug his fingers into her flesh. Her leg jerked slightly at the unexpected touch, but when he tried to move away, she muttered a sweet “It's okay”, stopping his movements.
The oxygen in his lungs was exchanged with her perfume and he bit back a groan. Her voice was like a lullaby, even if there weren't many words rolling off her tongue. Zoro wasn't bothered by the light of the lamp, completely forgetting about the world around him once her fingers continued running through his hair.
His hand traveled up, until it fully rested on her thigh, the warmth of her body seeping through the thin material of her pants. Truth be told, he's never felt better.
She was a remedy. His remedy.
“Good night.”
Zoro heard her whisper solely because he was near her; otherwise he would've confounded it with the night breeze.
Maybe giving in to her affection isn't that bad.

So I finished the live action and have taken a little time to get my thoughts together, and I'm very much of two minds about this show. I don't seem to be quite as high on it as some other people and the parts I didn't like I *really* didn't like, but I think the bones of the show are good and that the problems I had could be improved upon in future seasons.
More detailed thoughts under the cut
I've said all along that the live action will need to carve out its own identity if it wants to survive, that it needed not to copy the source material, but rhyme with it.
I feel like the first four episodes do that best. There was a lot to cover in the East Blue, and the more disconnected, episodic nature of the manga wasn't going to work. The solution was to combine and condense the manga content, and then add a significant B plot with the marines to help tie everything together.
The problem I have is that the addition of the marines takes away too much time from the Straw Hats without adding enough to make it worth it in the end. While backstories and story arcs were rushed to hell for our main crew, everything with Garp slogged, with the final payoff being nonsensical and poorly executed. I get what they were trying to do with Garp, shifting from childish temper tantrums to laughing maniacally, but it just doesn't work. Garp just doesn't work. Which is a shame, because I think that the growth for Koby and Helmeppo had a lot of potential and the actors exceeded my expectations. The material they had to work with just wasn't good enough.
Syrup Villiage worked best for me, because of all the arcs in the manga it was the most dragged out and poorly executed. It benefits from being condensed and leaning into the horror vibe over the generic shonen battle of the original was inspired. Plus, it validated my head canon of Kuro poisoning Kaya, which is always a nice feeling.
But even here, there's a knock-on effect of what came before it. Because Shells Town and Orange Town were cut down so drastically, Zoro's backstory and some of Nami's development were kicked on down the line, making Usopp more of a bystander in the arc where he should have shined the brightest. Later on the Baratie, Sanji's inner turmoil and struggle to follow his dream is reduced down to a "hey, the chore boy offered me a job, I'm gonna bounce".
And for what? So we can spend a painfully long scene of Garp eating a fucking steak?
The show needed its original ten episodes of runtime to let the characters just breathe. The chemistry amongst the crew is great, there are cinematic moments that took my breath away, the soundtrack is fire, the fights were enjoyable, and the set design is fantastic, but the depth of the manga is flattened. In the East Blue, every villain--even the shitty ones--acted as double foils. For example, Captain Morgan's narcissism contrasted with Zoro's willingness to throw away his good name in order to follow his dream, where his more villainous nature foiled Koby's heroism. In the show, Morgan barely counts as a villain, with his more disturbing and evocative acts such as telling his subordinates to shoot themselves (and more chillingly, them willing to do it) are cut out entirely, and it makes Garp's decision to later tie him up to the same post as Zoro seem almost insane.
Of all the arcs, Arlong Park left the worst taste in my mouth, which is so frustrating when it's supposed to be the crown jewel of the season. The changes they made to Nojiko are baffling and the one time I honestly don't understand why a change was made. Nami's backstory, the most powerful in the East Blue, was chopped into pieces and condensed so much that I felt nothing when Bellemere died. Luffy's decision to actually listen to Nami's backstory, while it made sense for this version of the character, went so against the spirit of the original that it took me out of the moment, as well as removing one of the aspects that makes Luffy such a unique character in the first place.
And for what, so the season had time to end with Luffy fighting Garp in a hopeless fight, only for Garp to let him go because "it was all a test"? Bullshit. Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. The whole point of the East Blue is to establish the Straw Hat Pirates. They shouldn't be playing second fiddle to anyone, let alone this deranged, poorly written version of Garp.
I said that the bones of the show are good, and I stand by that. The Straw Hats are the Straw Hats. The One Piece world is the One Piece world. I do remain hopeful for improvements should there be a season two, because the marine B plot with Smoker is already in the manga, and the overarching story of Alabasta gives the writers the ability to be more flexible with the limited time that they have. I have to believe that it's easier doing one big story over the course of a season than it is trying to shove 5 origin stories into 8 episodes, but I'm not a TV person so I might be wrong.
However, my concern is that in some ways season one benefited from the pandemic. The series was in pre-production for like 7 years, and all the interviews I've read have credited the extra time the series had in the developmental oven for my favorite aspects of the show--particularly the sets. That's not going to necessarily the case going forward, and my worry is if future seasons aren't given the time to get it right that it's all going to fall apart. At the same time they can't wait too long, because that's not how live action works.
The live action isn't a bad show, but it isn't a good show, either. I'm glad that it exists, even if it's only to point back to the original. I wouldn't be devistated if it were cancelled, but would certainly check out season two should it get renewed.
Just, please. No more Garp. I'm begging Matt Owens and Oda himself, please. Just let the man do cool stuff off screen for a couple seasons, and when he's reintroduced pretend all this never happened. Your show will be better for it, I promise.

soooo what is the vagabond au what is like the concept of it how do things work
It's my fun little doll house where i can do what ever i want :) 1st chapter here It originally started as the question "what if instead of luffy it was sonic in the first episode of one piece", because i was thinking about how the theme of freedom is handled with their characters. That concept evolved into a comic and a world with a little history, which would include inspirations from treasure planet and the sonic boom lore & world. I like how mysterious sonic booms world was.
As to why it is called sonic the vagabond hedgehog? no deep reason. Sonic is a vagabond and i needed a title. He might eventually be called that but not sure yet.
The actual machimations of the world will be shown slowly, but there are a lot of sonic concepts too, like rings, loopdeloops and checkpoints too. Some things will just be background props.
The issue i'm working on right now will show off a little more of what the world is like and how things work, but mostly how eggman effects it. And I want to show off the sonic concepts, like warp rings, special zones and chaos emerald stuff in the knuckles issue if i get to that.

Op men as dads
IM NOT DEAD! I've been working on requests and also doing school so I havent had much time to post much recently but I thought I'd drop this little treat for you all while I work.
(I was inspired ✨️)
Sanji, zoro, luffy, usopp, ace
Warnings: talk of pregnancy, talk of labor, talk of neglect, talk of anxiety, talk of premature baby's, talk of premature side effects.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Sanji- twin daughters
Tumblr media
Girl dad to the extreme
Okay okay so let's start off when you were pregnant
He was incredibly doting, literally wouldn't let you lift a finger for anything
Tons of research on safe foods for pregnancy and also learning how to properly make baby food
When the girls were born it was the first time sanji discovered that feeling of such a need to protect them
They were so tiny and had his blonde hair and blue eyes
Either gives them zeffs last name or yours
Their names? Éclaire (or Claire for short) Sora and Suzette Rei
Very much princess standard
Spoils them as much a humanly possible
When they grow up he teaches them all the stuff he knows how to cook and actually begins making a cookbook soley so his girls can have it when they are adults
Claire tends to be the flirter one out of the twins often making sanji chase off all sorts of boys and men from his princess
Suzette tends be more withdrawn. She prefers to stick to the kitchen helping her dad anywhere she can
Both of them are huge daddies girls
Zoro- triplets, two boys one girl
Tumblr media
Zoro through most of the pregnancy was calm and collected.
Another one who refused to let you do anything without his hand on your hip
He did the pregnant belly lift for you all the time
All shit goes down when you actually give birth
Zoro had been expecting one baby but when two more popped out he panicked
Absolutely wants to train them personally
Their names? Shogi Korushiro Roronoa, Menko Arashi Roronoa, and his daughter Karuta kumia Roronoa
Shogi is the eldest of the triplets and even though it's only by a few minutes he really takes being the eldest sibling seriously. He looks over his siblings and trains the most so he can protect them and be as great as his dad one day
Menko tends to be the lazy one. Menko can and will take a nap everywhere and anywhere he can. Sanji once found him sleeping in kitchen cabinet on a bag of rice.
Karuta feels the need to stay on her brothers level. She takes her training even more seriously than shogi does. Zoro is more than pleased to train her but even he worries about her over doing it to keep up.
The triplets also see chopper almost as a older brother
Zoro decided if he was to pass away ever each of the triplets would get one of his swords.
Luffy- two sons
Tumblr media
Lord.
During your pregnancy it was really confusing for luffy about around the time you started showing he began to realize
He is constantly lettering Sabo filling him in and asking questions
Luffy became more protective of you when you were pregnant literally barked at someone for getting too close once
When you go into labor he is right by your side.
After you gave birth to your first son, Monkey D Ace luffy was suprised at how small he was.
Luffy was surprisingly gentle but that didn't change much of his childish ways
The baby would scream sometimes just because luffy would scream back (there's this video of twins who yell to figure out if the other is near, kinda like that)
When you got pregnant the second time when ace was around age two luffy understood it a lot more.
He did his best to not stress you with the baby and this time it went a lot smoother.
He knew what to expect in the delivery room the second time when your second son, Monkey D Ademir, came into the world
Ace tends be rambunctious, running into trouble much like his father with a similar appetite, but he also knows the weight of his name and so he holds it with pride
Ademir is similar to his brother and father, but he also tends to be far more brutally honest than ace.
Both boys tend to lean towards you though. Surprisingly, they tend to listen to you more than their father although it's a shocking sight when luffy is actually telling them to do something
Usopp- premature boy
Tumblr media
Anxiety ten times higher than normal
When you found out you were pregnant usopp used his anxious energy to start making things
Baby clothes? Got it. Crib? Got it. Toys? Got it. With the help of Franky converted a large storage closet into a baby room.
Imagine his panic when the baby room wasn't even half done when you went into labor.
The labor was brutal on both you and usopp. But eventually his son, Shinji took in his first breaths.
For the first few months of life the crew fussed over shinji constantly due to his prematurely he had a hard time breathing and needed far more cuddling than a normal baby.
Usopp would stay up all night just making sure his son was breathing after he had read a book that said children born premature could pass away easily
Shinji pulled through. And unfortunately became the most brutally honest person anyone had ever met. He gave luffy a run for his money about not being able to tell a lie
Shinji would run and tell you all about the acts his father wasn't supposed to get up to even small ones like sneaking a extra treat after dinner.
Even so usopp coddled his son constantly
When shinji took a interest in art and carving usopp nearly cried because they had a shared interest.
Becoming a father made usopp realize how truly messed up what his own father did was.
Usopp understood having his own goal while being a parent would make it harder but he would never abandon his son or you to achevie them. He'd prefer to achieve them with you by his side.
Ace- daughter
Tumblr media
Ace panicked when he found out you were growing his child inside of you.
The ship was on fire type of panic
Ran you straight to Marco who checked you out and congratulated you when he confirmed the pregnancy.
Ace similarly to luffy was incredibly protective.
You were never out of his sight and if you were he had someone checking on you hourly.
His coddling was almost suffocating.
When you went into labor, more fires had to be put out on the ship.
Marco nearly had to remove ace from the room because he was freaking out more than you were.
The one time ace settled down was when his newborn daughter nuzzled her face against his warm chest, Rouge D Portgas named after his mother.
Rouge lived up to her name, she frequently made the ship panic because no one could find her only to find her snuggled up in between some barrels.
Ace sworn the night Rouge was born he would never let her go through the things he did as a child.
Ace was a amazing father often having her up on his shoulders and would cry with her when she had to go get her shots or got scrapes.
Spoilers ahead
When ace died Rouge went into Marco's care. The only thing she had left of her father was his hat which she wears constantly.
Although Rouge goes through a similar thing of being bullied for her father she is prideful of his father and who he was.
Spoilers over

Another unpopular One Piece opinion:
Carrot and Yamato not sailing with the crew after Wano did not feel like a cop out to me. The two are clear parallels to Nekomamushi/Inuarashi and Oden, who were also part-time members of Roger's crew. Carrot clearly has her part to play as leader of the minks and Yamato as "Oden". Sure, maybe Oda could've done a better job of building that up and saying "goodbye for now" to these characters at the end of the arc, but "too much to do, not enough time" has been One Piece's MO since the time skip.
I guess that's all easy for me to say though, since imo neither Carrot nor Yamato felt like full-time strawhat member material. There's a certain template that all the strawhats mostly follow and it can be summed up in three steps:
1) They're shown to be a loner, the "black sheep" of their village (or whatever environment they're introduced in).
2) They're saved and/or inspired by Luffy.
3) They have meaningful interactions with the other strawhats before they officially join the crew.
All of the strawhats tick these three boxes, except for Jinbei, who was never shown to be a loner or the "black sheep" of Fishman Island. However, he is introduced as the only Warlord who is strongly against the War, as well as the only Warlord who's a fishman. Plus, he's the only fishman who agrees to give blood to a human. So, maybe he does tick that box.
(Oh there's also Robin, who doesn't have that many interactions with the other strawhats before she joins at the end of Alabasta.)
Now, let's look at Carrot.
Carrot is not portrayed as a loner or the "black sheep" of Zou. There is nothing really that makes her distinct from the other minks... perhaps her strong desire and daring to leave Zou and explore? But other Minks also expressed their desire to leave with the Strawhats and it doesn't seem like Carrot's wanderlust is seen as a bad thing by the community.
Carrot is not saved or inspired by Luffy. Yes, she likes and admires Luffy, but there is no particular moment where he saves her from her personal demons or inspires her to keep going, live, or to fight for him. He plays no pivotal role in her character growth, that's all Pedro.
The only box that Carrot ticks is that she has meaningful interactions with the other Strawhats throughout Whole Cake.
So 1 out of 3 for Carrot.
What about Yamato?
Loner? Sure, he's def the black sheep of Onigashima.
Saved or inspired by Luffy? This is an interesting one, because while Luffy does in effect save Yamato by taking off his handcuffs, it's not a scene with a lot of emotional weight to it. If anything, Yamato's savior and "light" was Ace. Yamato and Luffy only interact for a little bit before Yamato's assigned to Momo for the rest of the battle, so they don't really have much of an emotional connection either. Compare Luffy and Yamato's interactions during Wano to Luffy and any other strawhat's during their introductory arc and it's lacking. Yamato's desire to sail with Luffy feels more impersonal, because so much of it is tied to Yamato's background knowledge of Luffy, knowledge that he got from third party sources (Oden's logbook and Ace) than from Yamato's own interactions with Luffy. So while I understand why other people might tick the box, for me it's a no.
Meaningful interactions with the other strawhats before they join—a big NO. Yamato literally only meets the other strawhats after the battle is over. Sure he spends time with them post-battle, but we see very little of it.
So Yamato is also 1 out of 3.
I think from this comparison, we can see that neither Carrot nor Yamato really build up that special connection with Luffy that the other strawhats have, and that's why I'm perfectly fine with neither of them fully joining the crew. Personally, it would've felt odd if they had.

Apologies for the mistakes and the bother. I just have some ideas, but no one to ask opinions about it. Since the Cross Guild first appeared it took charge of my mind. Every idea is revolving around these three dysfunctional and improbable "allies." Some days ago a fan-made illustration popped up, possibly inspired by the film Red, in which Buggy's daughter was pictured. And something clicked. An idea. (I know that inserting OC is an annoyance to some, sorry, it amuses me instead.) In the trail of parallelisms and similarities, I thought: what if Buggy, like Shanks, raised and adopted a little girl? From there, a whole story unfolded.
When Buggy was still fairly young, with no large crew, not yet the crew he later made, was all the more fixated on treasures and instant riches. Still too afraid to venture out, insecure of what he could be, anchored in the East Blue, he looked for treasure maps and he found the map for the legendary Gold Island. He figured he could become the wealthiest man in East Blue and sailed there. Except he found nothing, save for a silent child.
Nearly subconsciously, mindful of what Gol D. Roger did long ago, he took her with him. Giving her a name, a name the foundling without any memory of herself hadn't. (Pierroy, after a doll found in a store on a different island, days later, stolen during a hurried escape) Years pass and Buggy's crew changes, he becomes the Genius Jester, the Flashy Clown. And Pierroy emulates him a bit, in admiration. Trusting him blindly. Adoring him, as only a daughter would. But Pierroy, Buggy realized, for he was never a fool, has something unusual. Something of value. Lots of value. Thus Buggy lets her cover an eye. Helps her dye the hair a deepest blue. Helps her disguise herself. Meanwhile, he discovers. And he holds all the research in a secret file in his cabin. On his notes he underlines "government" and "experiments" and little else painstakingly discovered.
At the same time, Pierroy grows up. Among acrobatics and circus tricks. Amid chemistry lessons and basic physics. With joy, mostly. Misfortune though always comes, and for Pierroy it's called Luffy. And his father's defeat. And the exposure of all the research he did. And odd notes. Almost as to study her (use her, Nami suggests her) and insecurity, doubt, assaults Pierroy. And when Buggy comes back it's confrontation the first thing she seeks. Misunderstandings and lack of communication, like a rebellious teenager against her parents, Pierroy abruptly vanishes overnight without even a goodbye note.
But life goes on and Buggy carries on. He occasionally search information, finds some from time to time, but ultimately convinces himself that it was for the best. A pirate ship is no place to grow up, least of all his own. And time passes and so much happens. And then, one day, news, rumor almost, of a secret execution that occurred in utter silence. The Marine, rumor says, killed a young woman with a red star eyepatch over her eye. And everything changes.
Buggy erupts into fits of rage first and grave silence later. He disappears from view. No more public appearances. No more meetings. And no threats have any effect anymore. Nothing Crocodile can do has any effect. Nothing Mihawk can say has any effect. Buggy is deaf to all. In a guilty state, he rambles at the moon. Drinking too much, eating too little. (Refusing to admit it, Mihawk and Crocodile become increasingly concerned) And with Buggy's past exposed (from the insecurities he felt as a child, what life was like before he was found, what it was after, about Shanks and Pierroy and a sea of confessions) undesirable feelings of empathy arise in Crocodile, memories that no longer want to be removed, not now they resurface. (Nightmares, he calls it. A stubborn woman died alone. A man who thought he had all the solutions for every evil, all the time. Child's eyes) And memories arise in Mihawk, too. (A large family. A kindly foolish father. A monastery and a silver sword soiled with tragedy. Devil's eye) Past and present mingle. Unspoken truths and others to be silenced again. And more that have always been lies. (Spoiler: while Buggy is mourning, there's a ship with a crew of frauds that fishes out a redheaded and gives him to the care of a weird woman, who talks to a closet from which pink feathers slide out, now and then in a fit of laughter; on their way to a circus, so they say)
I sincerely apologize for the length of the ask. I know it's not an original or outstanding idea, but could it be of any interest at least slightly? If you want, I would be very happy to receive feedback. But anyhow, I thank you so much.
Please never apologize for the length, I love reading asks and don’t worry about grammer mistakes because I ain’t the best at it either. Anyway, HOLY STARS ABOVE AND BEYOND! I do not care if it’s not original or outstanding idea, it’s definitely very interesting, don’t you worry (I have some OCs that are basically Buggy’s children all but blood, it’s not so weird)
This is so heartbreaking, noooooooooooooooooooo, I want to feel like Buggy did it so he could find away to help her with it and it goes all wrong. I don’t know, this sounds so depressing. Pierroy! Poor girl, Buggy going away from public view becuase of mourning, the marines didn’t want things to go down the same way as Ace’s execution did.
The spoiler, hopefully Pierroy is okay… right?

LAWLU FIC IDEA: DIARCHY / DUUMVIRATE
One day, once I've caught up with the series and have a better understanding of the charas, I'd like to write a LawLu fic that has Law as the co-protagonist with Luffy
Its been noted that no one expected Law to be so popular that Oda-sensei ended up developing him far more than he initially planned. One Piece technically doesn't have a deuteragonist since each arc has a different chara filling that role. Whether its by accident or design, Law somehow ended up as Luffy's foil and contrast over the years
But I want to write something that has LawLu as dual protagonists from the get go. How their stories are intertwined right from the beginning even when they won't meet until Sabaody. How they're aware of each other through out their journey and feel an unexplainable pull towards each other once they meet
It wont be a rewrite, not exactly. But an AU where One Piece has dual protagonists right from the beginning, where they live their lives parallel to each other until their paths finally merge into one. Where their actions have a cause and effect on each other's lives even before they met
I know its normal for the MC to be the one to bring down the arcs' main villains but I wanted Law to be the one to bring down Doflamingo. Not just that, but there's actually a D who's interested in finding out about the Will of D too. So in the end, that desire to see that explored gave way to this fic idea
Which means it'll be a different story from the canon setting. Some events and even personalities will be a bit different. I guess you could say it'll be like OPLA where its inspired by canon but is an entirely different story of its own? I honestly dont know how to describe it properly except for this:
It'll be a journey and adventure for Truth and Freedom of 2 Supernovas that'll change their world
So there you have it! Another crazy and quite ambitious idea of mine to add to the pile! 😅
Thanks for reading this far!

Wandering canary
Heyyyyyy first one piece fic, love the show and glad its doing so well, the oc character is about 32 to be closer to shanks and buggy’s ages this will be a buggy x reader fic because like so many others i love Jeff ward and his portrayal of buggy was “chefs kiss”
Tumblr media
The strawhat crew finally landed on a seemingly normal island.( For once.) Finally able to restock their dwindling supplies and stretch their sea legs.
“Finally land!” Nami states pop in her back and relishes the feel of solid steady ground under her feet. “That storm was crazy, we're lucky we made it here.”
“Yeah it's nice to finally be somewhere that looks seemingly safe.” Usopp says looking around at the nice port and colorful looking town.
“Yeah, think of the new local ingredients we can find around here or all the beautiful island women just waiting for a dashing chief like myself to come along.” Sanji says straightening his tie about to walk further on the pier however he's almost pushed into the water by Zoro's yawning form, walking off the ship
“I'm ready for a nap, huuuuh”
“Damit zoro watch where you're going.”
“What was that waiter”
“Why you broccoli headed piece of”
Before the two can argue further luffy plows through them effectively pushing them into the dock below.
“Ohhhhhh I can’t wait any more, come on guys lets gooooooo.!”
Luffy wait nami call out but it's too late the captain of the going merry is off dust trailing behind him as the crew all quickly try to catch up before luffy accidentally destroys something
A short time later the merry was restocked and no threats were found (or had been created) so the crew decided to treat themselves to a night out.
The local bar was nice, not as nice as the Baratie but not run down either. Drinks and food flow, the crew having a grand time when a spotlight turns on illuminating the bars stage. Everyone claps as a person the crew assumes is the owner based on how nicely the old woman is dressed steps forward.
“And now for the event of the night, our very own wandering songbird, ms Canary.”
The room erupts in applause and cheers. The straw hats all look on expectantly slightly apprehensive of all the clapping after the last time the. Had to endure a spotlight and clapping, except for luffy he was full on cheering with everyone else.
The curtain opens and a woman dressed in shimmering jewel tones, coins and bells added to the hems of her skirts to make them jingle, she stands in the middle of the stage a tambourine in her hand posed for the music to start. But its not her outfit or pose that draws the straw hats' eyes. No, it's her blood red hair.
“Hey! Her hair looks just like shanks.” Luffy points nami quickly shushing him and lowering his pointed hand as the music starts.
Tumblr media
*Think this outfit but of course character is not Esmeralda
Canary’s pov
* I changed some of the songs lyrics
{ rhythm of the tambourine starts playing}
The music starts and I begin my first movement. My tambourine mirroring my movements perfectly in time,
Hey, soldier boy, I see how you stare
Hey, fisher man, I see you admire
Come gather 'round
Hey, Jack and Pierre!
Come see me dance to the rhythm of the tambourine
Flash of ankle
Flip of a skirt
Feel them excite, enflame and inspire
Come see me dance, hey, what can it hurt?
It's just a dance to the rhythm of the tambourine
The regulars are all in the front row while those from out of town have sprinkled around the bar. One table is filled with younger ones all maybe 16/17 to 20ish years old all smiling at the performance, they definitely look out of place amongst all the Old beer gutted or wind beat sailors and fisherman of the island, but its the youngest looking one that makes me pause, or more specifically the hat on his head.
Memories resurface quickly. The call of my name comes from a fuzzy figure in front of me. I can’t make out any of their features besides their red hair and the straw hat on his head. The sound of someone yelling wait up idiot comes from beside me as blue infiltrates my vision. Their faces and voices are still blurry but hey at least I remembered something. I quickly shake my head and move back into my dance trying to appear normal
Straw hats pov
As she dances around the room coming to stand in front of. The table her eyes taking us all in with a smile on her face till she sees luffy. That’s when she freezes. A confused and distant expression crosses her face quickly, but as soon as it appears it disappears, the woman quickly regaining momentum and spins back into her dance. The straw hats all (besides luffy) silently look at one another making sure they all notice the pause. The music comes to an end, the woman exiting as a band replaces her now playing soft bar music, as everyone goes back to eating and drinking. The straw hats finish and decide to head out.
“Ahhhh that was amazing” luffy laughs rubbing his engorged belly.
“Agreed but did you see that woman's face when she saw luffy.?” Nami asks the group
“yeah she like froze or something” usopp adds
“Wait what?” Luffy asks
"Yeah when she was near our table did you really not notice luffy?” Sanji asks
“Yeah it was weird. How she,” but before Zoro can get out the rest of his sentence a yell of wait cuts him off. The crew all turn towards the voice to find the women now wearing a normal outfit jogging towards them.
“Please wait” canary says catching her breath
“How can we help you, miss?” Sanji Asks ever the gentlemen.
“Um, I'm sorry to bother you all but I was hoping I could speak to you, privately if possible.?”
The crew all look at each other before luffy interrupts and gladly invites the lady to the ship happily dragging her along the rest of the crew following
Canary’s pov
Night had fallen and the kitchen is filled with warmth, tea and snacks being handed out as the crew settles into listen to my story
“To start thank you for not thinking I’m insane, and let me formally introduce myself my names canary”
“Nice to meet you, canary. I'm monkey D Luffy and this is my crew.” The energetic brunette stats arms wide as he gestures to the others each one going down the line to introduce themselves
“Canary huh, got a last name to go with that?”, the green haired boy named Zoro asks.
“I don't actually that's kind of part of the reason I wished to speak to all of you.
“Zoro dont be rude go ahead ma’am start at the beginning”. Sanji scoulds Zoro before turning back to me
“Can you tell us why you need to speak to Luffy so badly?” Nami asks
“I know this is a strange question but none of you would happen to recognize me would you?”
The crew all look at eachother once more before all answering no.
“I should have known better.”
“Why do you ask?” Luffy asks now, invested in my story.
“Well about twenty years ago I was found on a beach after a storm. Some of the villagers nearby found me, treated my wounds and took me in.” I move my hair to show the kids the scar on my temple. “ I don't have any memories from before the storm but sometimes i get flashes of the past and one of them was a red haired boy wearing that hat.”
“That has to be shanks! Luffy says so excitedly, his whole being lighting up at the mention of this Shanks person.
“Shanks”
“Yeah hes the best, hes the one who made me want to be a pirate, hes also the one who gave me this hat.
“Really! then he could possibly know who i am.
“I mean yeah probably. He never forgets a face”
“Do you know where he is now or how to get ahold of him?”
“No unfortunetly, I haven’t really seen shanks in a little while. Hes out there sailing the grand line like us.”
Oh, is all i can get out a immense sense of sadness overcoming me at the possibility of knowing who i am is snubbed right in front of me
Strawhats pov
Looking at canary’s face luffy can help but to think of how to help her.
“Oh hey! I have an idea. why dont you join my crew?”
Everyone’s heads turn eyes going wide as they stare at the rubber boy.
“Really?” Canary asks the young kid
“Yeah any friend of shanks is a friend of mine besides were bound to run into him eventually i know it.”
Before canary can speak Zoro interrupts the over enthusiastic boy
“Luffy the grand line isnt a place for just anyone to travel around its dangerous especially for someone who’s just an entertainer no offense canary”
“I’ll try not to be but I will correct you and say I'm not just an entertainer. I happen to be a petty good sailer and im a marksmen, i'm not exactly defenseless” canary says pulling out the mini Gatling gun on her thigh
Tumblr media
“Wow that's cool you know how to use that
“I do i even make my own ammo and everything, I can use a sword too but I'm not really an up close fighter unless I have to be.
“I want to see, I want to see” luffy cheers.
“I would be happy to show you all my skills if that would ease your minds, and besides I’ve traveled a lot looking for where I came from, and I've made friends at every island I’ve visited I can help you get around the grand line, help navigate which islands to go to and which to avoid.”
“Well guys i don't know about you all. But a beautiful talented woman is always welcome to travel with me,”Sanji says with a stricken look on his face as he gazes at Canary.
“I wouldn’t mind having another female around to Be honest.” Nami says wistfully.
“Hey im always for new friends” usopp joins. Everyone turns to Zoro the first mate being the final decider
“If she can actually defend herself and keep up then she’s fine by me”
“ALRIGHT!!!!” Ms canary welcome to the going merry.”

usopp positivity post #4
I liked it when Usopp and Chopper fought Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas.
Tumblr media
Because it made me look at Chopper and Usopp’s team work like this: like when you were in school, you and a classmate had to work on a project together, but you both didn’t know what the h*ll you were doing, so you opted to just throw sh*t at the wall and see what sticks. Or funnily enough, y’all just f*cked and played around avoiding actual schoolwork until the due date comes around and y’all both start freaking out and come up with something on the fly, and guess what? The project gets an A because it was a creative idea and the teamwork was impeccable.
Tumblr media
Usopp and Chopper showcase that wonderfully here. And it made me start to see how much Chopper was inspired when in Usopp’s presence; he finds strength through him when they’re in scary situations together.
Don’t get me wrong, Zoro and Robin could (do!!) have this effect on Chopper too. But I see this mainly with Usopp in the most favorable and organic way.
youtube
It makes me think of the “Stampede” movie when Chopper came to Usopp’s aid first, before Luffy’s. And perhaps Chopper simply thought Luffy could walk off his injuries off, but I dunno…Chopper seems to really love Usopp, and look up to him. (In the clip time stamp: 1:17)
Tumblr media
Chopper is Usopp’s biggest cheerleader!
Tumblr media
PG version of my words (no cursing):
I enjoyed watching Chopper and Usopp's fight against Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas because it reminded me of the dynamic teamwork you see in school projects. Sometimes, you and a classmate may not know what you're doing, but by bouncing ideas off each other and being creative, you end up with a successful outcome. Chopper's admiration for Usopp, seen in moments like this, showcases how he finds strength and inspiration in Usopp's presence, similar to a big brother figure. This bond between them is particularly evident in contrast to other relationships, like with Zoro and Robin. Chopper's loyalty and support for Usopp make him his biggest cheerleader.

Fair to say I’m about 2/3rds of the way through the first draft of this fic I’ve been trying to write for nearly two months, and for the 1000th time I’ve decided I hate it lmao. For the time being I might have to shelve it until I figure out how I want to go forward, but I still want to talk about it!! I may concentrate on the ‘epilogue’ since that’ll be shorter and stands by itself, even if it’s more goth fam than mishanks.
So, inspiration for the fic, in no particular order: I miss sailing, Black Sails S3E2 (yeah, the hurricane one), the sandstorm in Mad Max: Fury Road, wondering how haki apply to things outside of combat, the one episode of Top Gear where they race a sailboat, and the fact that Mihawk’s coffin boat drives me absolutely wild (but not in a good way). It is very funny yes, because come on. But please. Please Mihawk I am begging you. How do you effectively sail a coffin while sitting on a little throne. How are you sitting with the sword still on your back. My dude. The sail is never unfurled. Where is the rigging. Is it propelled by goth vibes alone? How does this man get around?? I don’t understand it. This anime-ass mfer is ruining my life.
This led to me busting out all the old sailing notes and considering how one man, who is definitely insane, could possibly sail around these ridiculous oceans by himself. This did require a total redesign of Hitsugibune into the kind of boat I know knew how to sail, which was fun. I do miss sailing, even if I only did it for a few summers as a teenager. I also wanted to write about haki, and how Mihawk could use both to navigate and keep himself safe. Observation haki might be used to track weather and wind and currents, Armament to extend to the ship and keep her safe in rough seas. If Armament can cover your body and your weapon, why not your ship as well? This would get tricky though, because keeping the hull from shattering is one thing, but the mast and the sails and the lines need flexibility.
The best way to explore and test these, I thought, would be to throw him into a hurricane. The original original draft of the story had him sailing into it with Luffy, who would be the absolute worst person to trap on a tiny boat with Mihawk in such dire circumstances. The added layer of Mihawk needing to keep his ex’s adopted child alive because if he goes overboard That’s It was a fun idea. I couldn’t make it do right, though, and the story made more sense when I swapped Luffy for Shanks and it turned into mishanks adventure time. Also the old married couple bickering vibe, because Shanks is used to sailing in much larger ships, with a crew. Terrible backseat driver.
I also started tossing in some spooky elements because the ocean really is terrifying, and old sailor’s superstitions, but I think that’s where things started to get bogged down and the story got too far away from me 🤔 Also Mihawk and Shanks both needed severe nerfing to drive them into a hurricane in the first place and also make it a challenge, so. I’ve written and rewritten the steps leading to this so many times I can’t stand it anymore.
In the meantime I've got some other stories to pick at, and also wait patiently for it to not be winter in Michigan so we can free the kayaks from their slumber and run directly into the water 😊

I need all the Part 4 questions answered for Cora, thank you very much 🤗❤️
Yeesssss, my beloved Cora! I actually already answered some questions from Part 4 for her, but I'm very excited to dive into the others!
Tumblr media
1. What is your OC's relationship to their family - biological or found?
Well, her biological family is dead, so... But she's incredibly proud of her heritage and honors her family's traditions, and she wants to carry on their legacy to the best of her ability. As for her found family, the Straw Hats... My goodness. She adores Luffy. He's just such a ball of sunshine. Even if she's sometimes put off by his stupidity or his antics, she can't really stay mad at him. Cora is in love with Zoro, even if she doesn't really realize it at first, and Zoro loves her back, even if he's frantically trying to deny it. The mosshead may be very stoic and a bit hard to get through to, but she understands him and gets through to his heart like few others do. She also feels very safe around him because she knows that he would murder anyone who tries to hurt her on the spot. Nami and Cora are fashion besties and they love to gossip. You better not get on their bad side because Nami can be very bitchy and Cora can be very dramatic. As for Usopp, she loves to experiment with him. Her with her dyes and their effects and him with gunpowder and other ammunition ingredients. You'll often see them just chilling and chatting in a corner with their various experiment kits. And Sanji... Oh boy, Sanji... Him and Cora have trauma-bonded on so many levels, but they also have such a sweet and romantic relationship... I'm not gonna talk about future Straw Hats here for spoiler reasons, but there's some cuteness going on there too!
2. Does your OC act differently around different people?
Answered here!
3. Is your OC a good leader? Do they like to lead or do they prefer to follow?
I'd say, yes, she could be a good leader if she managed to be confident about it. She definitely prefers to follow though.
4. Who influenced them the most on their journey?
Answered here!
5. Do they have any siblings?
Not anymore, no. I think she may have had an older half brother or sister (like, significantly older), but they're dead now.
6. Are they more dominant or submissive in their relationships? (Not just sexually if even at all - Do they give in easily? Are they demanding? Are they stubborn?)
At the start of her journey with the Straw Hats, she's definitely more on the submissive side, but she learns to put her foot down as she grows more comfortable around them and with herself. She starts off as a people pleaser but learns to absolutely bicker and be stubborn due to her friends' influence. The constant fighting between Zoro and Sanji and Nami's bitchiness is very inspiring lol
7. What type of friend are they?
Answered here!
8. How loyal are they?
Answered here!
9. How far would they be willing to travel for a loved one? What would it take to convince them?
Pretty far, honestly. The problem is that often doesn't have the appropriate means of travel, so some places are just unreachable for her, but she'll be damned if she doesn't at least try. The more serious the situation is, the more desperate she'll get at trying to get to her loved one by any means necessary.
Thanks so much for your ask! Hope you're having a lovely day! <3

SPOILER FOR THE ONE PIECE MANGA AND ANIME
Ok, so something about the very first scene of the One Piece live action is irking me a bit.
Shanks was an apprentice on the Oro Jackson, Gold Roger's ship (together with Buggy). Also, he was taken in by the King of the Pirates when he was one year old, Roger having found him inside a chest floating near his ship (which mirrors Shanks' meeting with his own daughter, Uta).
Roger has known Shanks since he was a baby. Shanks has known Roger since he can remember. Roger was the one who gave Shanks his own straw hat, that Shanks wore since he was no more than nine, and who probably taught him what it meant to be a pirate, and a good captain. I bet the main reason why Shanks wants to find the One Piece is because he wants to prove he is worthy of his old captain's legacy.
Ok, maybe I'm reading too much into this because Shanks is my favourite One Piece character, but what cannot be denied is that Roger was very important for Shanks, and played a role in shaping Shanks into the man he is today.
(One who knows children do not belong on pirate ships, but still.)
And we are supposed to believe THIS
Tumblr media
is the face Shanks makes at his captain's execution? At the death of the man who was probably his model and perhaps, even a father figure for him?
This guy looks uninterested, even a little bored, as if the matter didn't really concern him and he had been simply curious to see an infamous person die. Why does he not seem at least upset, and saddened? Why is Buggy not with him, since by then they were friends and fellow apprentices?
Conversely, this is how the anime shows Shanks (and Buggy) at Roger's execution.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Quite a difference, right? It is true that these scenes are shown much later than the part of the story adapted in the live action, and at this point Luffy has no idea Shanks had been part of Roger's crew, but still... I think that blank, only half-interested look is a disservice to the character.
I love 99% of how the live action adapted the manga/anime, and I think this first scene did a very good job of setting the tone and explaining Roger's story and importance. I like the performance of the two actors - Michael Dorman's fearlessness in the face of death and joy in seeing his message inspire new pirates to take to the sea, Vincent Regan's bewilderment and alarm as he realizes that, hoping to make an example of Roger and discourage others from following in his footsteps, he ended up with the opposite effect.
I just think Shanks needed to be shown with a different reaction - crying his eyes out, and with Buggy by his side, possibly. That's all.

Monkey D. Luffy: Hogwarts AU
Tumblr media
Luffy D. Monkey is a Half-Blood wizard that was born on the 5th of May 1980 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1991, being sorted into Gryffindor house.
He has a Maple wand with a Phoenix Feather core.
His Patronus is a Capuchin Monkey.
His favorite subject are Defense Against the Dark Arts and his least favorite subject is History of Magic.
He was the Head-Boy of his year.
Luffy's most dominant traits are his apparent lack of common sense, his utter fearlessness and unwavering belief in himself. He generally marches at the beat of his own drum, unwilling to approach anything in a delicate or nuanced matter. That said, Luffy has a penchant of being able to see through the heart of the matter, often able to accurately call out someone's personal flaws such as Koby's cowardly nature or Kuro's weakness as a wizard. He is profoundly ambitious, frequently declaring he will become a Curse Breaker and devoting his entire being into being one.
Luffy's personality can be described as childlike, in the sense that he tends to go to the extremes. He can either be extremely greedy, especially in cases of food, who his friends are, and adventure; or extraordinarily selfless, going so far as to virtually sacrifice himself to avenge or protect his friends and family. This childish mentality does not prevent him from often getting to the root of the problem and allowing him to figure out the simplest way of solving it.
Shanks has had a profound effect on Luffy's personality, as prior to meeting him, Luffy was arrogant, impatient and extremely prideful. The thought of Shanks being humiliated by Higuma infuriated the young boy, and he recklessly tried to get his revenge. After meeting Shanks and being inspired to become a Curse Breaker, Luffy eventually grows up to become more like him - opting to become calmer, patient, and avoid letting things get to him. Early on, he would occasionally repeat some of Shanks' lines to other people, like during his first meeting with Usopp. With that said, Luffy is very much his own person and fairly different from Shanks overall. On occasion, he will still lose his cool and get angry, though this aspect of him has lessened considerably since he graduated.
Above all else, Luffy dislikes weak people, though not strictly in a physical sense. He has openly told Koby that he "hates people like him" due to Koby's frequent use of phrases of "it's impossible" and his cowardly nature. Conversely, he likes people who put in the effort to make something of themselves, despite their limitations, and has come to appreciate Koby after seeing him put his life on the line. He calls out Kuro for complaining about being a wizard, taking less issue with his crimes and more with his desire to escape the life of being a wizard.
Luffy frequently expresses wonder of the simplest things, such as hermit crabs, and can be confused by concepts such as that by digging a hole right next to another he may be unintentionally filling the other hole. In addition, during long and complex explanations of something, he immediately calls it magic. He likes monsters and will ask weird creatures to befriend him. He has an appalling lack of knowledge for medicine: when Nami had a high fever, he told her to eat cold food and later tried to make Zoro Roronoa better (after duelling Kuma Bartholomew) by pouring butterbeer onto him, because Zoro likes butterbeer. When attempting to think up a plan to get back to Hogwarts, whilst he managed to make some logical sense of where to look, he is seen to strain himself and noted that he is going to feel sick from too much thinking. He is rarely disturbed by violence and bloodshed, as he has fought his whole life. Even the worst battlefields rarely disturb him, except when it involves a friend or relative, as in the case of Ace. Despite his reckless and energetic disposition, Luffy also has a penchant for silent reactions in general. He is seemingly unfazed by the most horrifying sights, such as others dying before him, disfigured men left after Law's attacks or the extreme violence from various dark wizards in general.
He almost never gets irritated with normal people, though there are a few exceptions. Luffy gets irritated at people who have different tastes in food as him, and dislikes it when people try to look at his "privates." He also doesn't seem to like it when people play and stretch with his curly hair while he eats but doesn't have much of an issue with it otherwise. On a more serious note, he is actively annoyed at people who tell him things are "impossible" and will even hit people (men or women) who push the issue too far. People who betray their comrades outright disgust him, regardless of how awful said comrades might be. His irritation can extend to his friends too, particularly when they whine about the dangers, he tends to put them in, or when they go too far, such as his clash with Usopp.
Luffy calls every magical creature he finds by whichever creature he thinks it look like. During his Care of Magical Creatures lesson, the Hippogriff was referred to as a "horse", the Grindylow an "octopus" and the knarl a "hedgehog". This becomes a running gag: later when he meets a unicorn, he calls them "horns with horses attached to them." Also, after seeing Gan Fall transform into his Animagus form, he continued to refer to him as a "horse" instead of a man.
Luffy is enthralled by all aspects of wizarding life. He was extremely happy when he and Usopp got sorted into their houses and was ecstatic at the idea of practicing duelling. Luffy likes to sit up in the tall towers of Hogwarts, such as Gryffindor Tower, Ravenclaw Tower, the Astronomy Tower, the North Tower and more.
Luffy's interest in women is nuanced: Luffy was aroused when Nami stripped yet remained neutral when Hancock did so. In the former case, it was because he was with Usopp at the time, and Usopp (who is someone he shares a close connection to due to their similar age and interests) was clearly a bad influence on his behavior. In general, he has not yet displayed any romantic inclinations or perversions, having nonchalantly refused to marry Lola and Hancock without a second thought. Luffy also has an indifferent behavior towards marriage. While he knows what marriage is, he does not seem to care about the significance of it, as when Sanji was in an arranged marriage with Pudding, he didn't care if he got married and cared more about him returning to them. He also did not object to Absalom trying to marry Nami and only commented on how "brave" he was to want to marry her. Despite his general disinterest, Luffy has earned the affections of many women along his Hogwarts years (such as Alvida's admiration, the love of Boa Hancock, etc.), quite a few of whom are from noble Pureblood families.
Luffy has shown to admire heroic figures, though he has stated vehemently that he doesn't want to be one, with his primary hang up being that heroes are fundamentally entirely selfless, and Luffy not really identifying that trait. Ironically, many of Luffy's actions are immensely selfless, with his selfishness mainly revolving around his gluttony and his thirst for adventure. This trait leaves everyone he meets with to think he is some kind of hero, but not by his own design. Eventually, he warms up to the idea of being a hero for the Wizarding World by Jinbe in exchange for receiving lots of meat.
Luffy is an extremely heavy sleeper. During the operation to ruin Sanji and Pudding's wedding ceremony, Jinbe could not wake him up even after smacking him several times and yelling directly into his ears. Only after he was presented meat - his favorite food - did he finally wake up. During the summer before his fifth year, Luffy woke up when his grandfather Garp hit him with his "Fist of Love."
Luffy has gained a reputation of being a very dangerous person because of his recklessness and even insanity. However, unlike other powerful wizards who have a reputation for being psychotic (like the Killer of the Aurors Caribou or Bellamy) due to their unjust violence against civilians or authorities, Luffy gained his reputation for helping his friends and innocents in the face of unjust or evil figures, usually going above and beyond to save them. This often puts him at odds with powerful organizations and wizards of incredible influence and power.
When his adoptive older brother, Ace, was killed right before Luffy's graduation, the mental strain of watching Ace die in his arms caused him to fall into a catatonic state. After waking from this state, Luffy flew into a rage and went on a destructive rampage to vent his grief and anger, in a way that was deeply uncharacteristic of his usual self. Luffy came to the conclusion that he had been too naïve, and was weak and unworthy of becoming a Curse Breaker, falling into a state of depression and self-pity. Some encouragement from Jinbe and Rayleigh gave Luffy some renewed courage to continue pursuing his dream, as well as realize that while he may have lost Ace, he still had his precious friends. Two years after he graduated, he tells Rayleigh that he will be moving to Egypt with his friends for work, having regained his confidence to fight for his dream.
Throughout his Hogwarts years, several people have stated similarities between Luffy and other D. carriers, whether in personality, words, actions, or presence. So far he is thought to be similar to Saul D. Jaguar by Robin; to Garp D. Monkey by Aokiji, by at least one former minister, and by his own friends; to Dragon D. Monkey by Ivankov Emporio; to Roger D. Gol by Smoker, Crocus, Kureha, Gan Fall, Shanks, Rayleigh, Kokoro, Shakuyaku and Raoul; and to Ace D. Portgas by Tama and Yamato.

One Piece chapter 1103 review
Back for the year of the dragon! I'd completely forgotten the zodiac colour spread was coming until I saw it. Franky absolutely wins this one with the hair and the decals on his shoulders. The axolotl-y looking dragon on Nami's top is also pretty cute.
This was perfect note for returning from the flashback to the present. It puts a bow on the last few emotional beats of the previous sequence. Bonney is emotionally and physically disarmed by what she's seen, becoming the child we now know her to be for a cooldown chat with Vegapunk, presumably after he was rescued from York. The sapphire necklace she gets for her birthday resembles other sun symbols used previously in the manga, such as Alabasta's flag, the middle of Kuma's church's crucifix and on the Kozuki crest. I'm guessing we'll see more and more of this imagery as the series builds up to its finale.
Tumblr media
And we cut from this moment of wholesome vulnerability between a little girl and a guardian figure, to a much more heartbreaking kind as Bonney, even acting the grown-up again, is helpless in Saturn's clutches. It's so frustrating to imagine how she must feel, especially having learned everything we just saw, and not even being able to get a single effective hit in. It's personal for her. She has every reason to be able to find that last reserve of strength for the shonen emotional powerup, but it's just too much. But it's a very One Piece thing to leverage that kind of infuriating feeling of impotency. Unless you're Luffy (and even then) you're going to end up in this position, having to ask for help, at some point in your life. There's no shame in needing to call for help in this series.
The following exchange follows up two nit picks from the flashback sequence, once again exposing the risks of doing a week by week critique without seeing the full story. I actually really like the logic behind the Distorted Futures - wrapping it up in a child's logic and having it get limited by a more mature view of reality is a really fun view of the ability and would have been cool to see further explored. It can only be overpowered in the hands of someone drastically underpowered. The idea that the power as a whole was the result of an experiment is… eh, it doesn't actually add much in tangible terms, just ties off the loose end of no one knowing how Bonney got the fruit. And makes Saturn seem like more of a bastard in hindsight, not that he needed it. It's weird that he implies the Sapphire Scale was a side-effect of his work though. The doctors were talking about it like it was a rare but known-of disorder. Or does that just speak to the number of people Saturn has tried this one then released?
But also, the symbolic value of the bad guys literally creating a disease that makes people unable to walk in the freedom-representing sun is pretty good, so maybe we let this one slide.
And I also like that we're learning something about alternative Devil Fruit applications in the arc. I still haven't forgotten Oda's promise that Vegapunk would explain how inanimate objects could be made to eat Devil Fruits when he appeared in the story (from I think a Water Seven-era SBS) and I'm still waiting on that explanation. Come on, just a little more in that direction.
All evidence suggests it was Borsalino that fed Luffy, which is a fascinating, fascinating move for the character after so long putting his job before his feelings. Was it Saturn's cruelty that finally inspired a small act of rebellion, or was it just that this was the only opportunity he saw to strike back with some plausible deniability?
Kuma's rampage is the perfect climax to the chapter and just what the story needed after returning to the present. I would liked to have seen more of the battle damage from his encounter with Sakazuki sticking, but that's a small complaint in the grand scheme of things. From seeing the guy take more and more pain as the Marines try to gun him down, to Saturn's firing squad exploding, to the last second save of Bonney, this is a brilliant sequence. And despite his silence, we get a bit of evidence of what's happening to Kuma. This isn't some secret program or protocol put in his system by Vegapunk, Kuma truly has pushed through the mind wipe and is able to act on an extent of his own emotions and willpower. He has his Haki, and he has his anger. While I still think this battle ends in tragedy, I'm thrilled to see that punch land and see what happens next.
This is the start of a good year. Promises of Egghead's climax, the conclusion of Kuma's gripping narrative and a whole new (likely Elbaf) arc in the next 12 months makes me very excited to be on board for the ride.

Action girl Kiku!
The intensity feels greater in these and the backgrounds are full of flashy effects. Upper left is a quick trip back to a scene from Bakura Town, because it wouldn’t be Kiku-posting if we didn’t do things a bit out of order. She has her eyes closed in the upper left image, just as she does in the scene it’s inspired by, showing her dislike of killing. The samurai life style chose her, she did not choose it.
I wonder if the same person drew all of these, I mean I doubt it because there is a tremendous amount of art of other characters in the gallery on the website I pulled these from too. Perhaps they have a few artists and assign them to various groups of characters/scenes? Either way, I especially enjoy how Kiku’s sword slash is depicted in the lower right image. It looks like a big wave.
I still find it neat that Wano introduced Kiku, and Tama, so early in the arc and that both befriend Luffy, before he met back up with any of his crew members or allies in the country. With both(and Komachiyo) also going on to have big scenes with multiple members of the Straw Hats through out the entire arc, it settles Kiku and Tama as the characters who are heart of the entire arc for me.
Kiku initiating and assisting with the Tama rescue ultimately led to Luffy finding a Ryuo teacher, which was essential for Kaido’s defeat, and Tama’s powers being able to be used to bring the Gifter to our side who would later help with the samurai rescue.
