Rewatched 'The Final Problem'. Of course it's not a detective story and not even a thriller - it is more a philosophical parable, a mythical search of one's identity which could be an end, but is in reality just a beginning of Sherlock's journey. It is the only episode of the show that keeps the viewer in suspense until the very end and has a perfect hommage to every permanent character and actor. Benjamin Caron's direction crowns the story perfectly, and the real stars of the night are of course Benedict Cumberbatch, Sian Brooke and Mark Gatiss. I've probably said it before but I say it again: it doesn't matter if Martin Freeman doesn't want to return - let's rename the show 'Holmes' and have a four and a half hours long celebration of the three most prominent British actors of our time (two of whom are so undeservingly less famous than the other). But no, I probably talk to much. Don't mind me. I only add that I can't imagine Mycroft and Eurus without the wonderful voices of Valery Storozhik (Валерий Сторожик) and Irina Kireeva (Ирина Киреева), who did a voice acting for Mark Gatiss and Sian Brooke in the Russian version of the series, and also give a link to the video where I play 'Who You Really Are' on piano (recently @rey-jake-therapist asked me about my talents - consider it one of them ;) )

Omg what if Moriarty didn't hire an assasin for Molly in TRF bc he discovered how pure she was while they were "dating" and she introduced him to her cat and made him watch Glee. And as we all know Eurus had help from Moriarty plotting the act on Sherlock in TFP. Maybe he made Eurus not put a bomb in Molly's apartament just to make sure she wouldn't die anyway.

Sherlolly headcanon

I'd like to think after the Sherrinford incident Sherlock desperately wanted to see only one person,Molly Hooper.

As soon as he saw her he'd pull her to his chest, forgetting that he was yet to give her explanation for his actions. He was not bothered by it, not a bit. Not even cared if people were watching them. Nothing mattered at this moment except the woman in his arms.

Back in Sherrinford he thought he was going to lose Molly for good and panicked when Eurus announced to kill her. For a brief moment of time he felt grateful to Eurus for not harming Molly in any way because if that had happened he would be devastated.

So. If I stand by what I said in my previous post that Sherlock has comittment issues. It would make sense that it could be possible they stem from the loss of red beard at such a young age.

The loss of his best friend shattered and scarred him for life, and he never again creates the same kind of bond with another being. This is why he rejects the idea of sentiment and attachment throughout the series. He tries to block out the emotion itself and becomes bitter towards it, creating a self-conflict.

He isn’t void of emotions. Obviously. He just masks them and convinces himself he’s a high-functioning sociopath.

Part of this is because after the loss of red beard he subconsciously formed the idea that it’s dangerous to be close to anyone because of the heartbreak caused by their loss.

And he also probably has the idea that anyone close to him could be in danger just by being such. (IE: John, Mary, Molly, Mrs. Hudson, Lestrade). So he barricades himself from forming such relationships with people out of subconscious protection for both them and himself.

All this stemming from the loss of his childhood best friend.

Season 4 Molly

I really want to think that Molly had so little time in season 4 episodes was because they wanted a sort of build up thing to that I love you scene/Sherlock's darkest secret theme.

I mean all of Molly's interactions with Sherlock where she is ALONE with him are behind the scenes.

The Ambulance scene, her being his minder, him calling her two weeks prior to bring his coat etc. Also they must have interacted before Mary's death as Godparents to Rosie and we all so that body language in the christening scene.

I suppose they wanted to hide the interactions and sort of keep us in the dark about changing relationship dynamics between them?

Or I am reading too much fanfiction?

Damn I don't know what Moftiss wanted to show or not show or whether this meant anything at all.

They never seem to talk about it much in terms of Sherlock and Molly's relationship.

Ugh. I need to get a life.!!
