Hmm? Where are they from, you ask?

Why, it's the one and only Things That Bleed! Written by @ghostly-cabbage , @kkachis , and @artistfingers . In which it establishes the possibility of sometimes family being a child spy, a scary scary assassin, and an eldritch horror boy.

Recently went back for a ... I honestly lost count how many times I've re-read this story. It's a gift that just keeps on giving, sometimes I just like go back to get soaked in the Scenery of quiet and restless hotels and underground parking lots and long car rides. hohoho don't let these mundane elements deceive you >:)

One thing I like to imagine is the post-reveal relationship these three may have, when Alex and Yassen get comfortable around Danny's ghost form, how they might just sit around in some rundown motel figuring out the next course of action but like. With a fun-sized eldritch noodle spreaded out on the bedsheets. Draped over the TV. Curled up in the cool tub or mini fridge. Rolling and eeling under the bed. Letting Alex wear him like a scarf. Yeah... yeah.

I am not certain how soft and fluffy these three can be when they spend enough time (and experience some Horrors) together, so these may be a bit ooc. but, well. I had fun drawing and I have faith in them💪

So, I've been reading a really good fanfic called "Things That Bleed" by @artistfingers, @kkachis, and @ghostly-cabbage (or collectively @thingsthatbleedfic) and wanted to show my appreciation.

My goodness, I am clutching my pearls, doing a little jig, and gently sobbing into a silken handkerchief because of this fanfic. It has rotted the core of my brain, the two hemisphere are unable to recover. I don't even know anything about the SCP or Alex Rider fandom but damn, am I enraptured. The building of tension, wholesome and unwholesome relations feeling grounded in contrast to the crazy situations they live through. Muah, miraculous writing, you can tell the amount of effort put into this thing.

I was in the mood for some horror stories and I always saw this fic as a recommended fic on my dash. And yeah it's awesome go read it! Also, I really like the font and the formatting it's really nice on the eyes. I was inspired to make make a model for SCP!Danny and to animate a scene from it.

The animation is the barn scene(chapter 4) from Officer Alvarez POV. (I wish I could add some audio but I'm not a sound designer.)

the first is one of my original things that bleed pitch sketches, and the second ones were a little later! these are based on designs by @kkachis with bonus inspiration from her SWWDF illustration too hehe

you can probably tell that the initial tone of my proto-TTB sketches was super lighthearted. then it quickly became. less lighthearted >:)

it's hard to believe i first tossed out the initial idea of TTB to Kei and Kkachi one year ago today! it's literally insane that it's been a full year. i've had so much fun creating TTB with them, and sharing it with yall, it's been beyond amazing and means the world to me 💚

I wanted to use the opportunity to experiment with using colour whilst still maintaining the tone of the fic. Not sure if I quite hit the balance, but here we are. I specifically challenged myself to not give Danny a black or grey Jumper, in attempt to keep some of the og character in there whilst still conveying this more feral version.

This was fun to draw! I feel an art style synthesising through this one and im excited for what I might make in the future! :)

Chapter Summary: There’s a slight change of plans. 

Chapter Word Count: 8k

Sleeping at night in hotel beds is not getting any easier, the second day in. The muscles in his neck and shoulders twist themselves into cords that braid further down along his spine, attached to bone like spiderwebs. He presses down on something like a shudder. Flesh—chained fibers, wet organs, sluggish weight… That hasn’t been him for a long time. Every minute of being like this is a reminder. His muscles are rusty, underused. All that said, the lingering wound on his side is well on its way to fully healed, with the energy he’d gathered yesterday. The skin is less tender—less discolored, probably, if he were willing to look at it. He watches the time on the clock tick by. Gravity tugs at his skin. The mattress is soft, softer than the beds at the last two hotels they’ve stayed in.  It doesn’t help like he thought it would.

“Not completely,” Danny says. “The way it is for me, information can… leak through, passively. Like his name. And because I’m—a medium, he can show me things. Memories. But that’s it. Nothing else.”

Danny moves his gaze back to Yassen.

“Next time Julius shows up, he won’t touch Alex, I swear. He won’t be able to.” 

There’s tension in the air that makes it hard to swallow as Danny stares Yassen down.

I chose a very bad time to start a new fic, which resulted in me using part my self study sessions between midterm subjects to doodle on my notebook. rip self control. But! I used them as a base for these drawings so, hurray? …No hard feelings, right Mr. Wen?

I can’t get over how often Alex has to tug Danny out of his Trance and/or drag him around by the sleeve, it makes my heart do the happiest wiggles.

Also Yassen is a doberman and you cannot tell me otherwise.

my top tip for surviving any roleplaying community is to understand the golden rules "in character =/= out of character" and "RP boundaries can and should be negotiated ahead of playtime, and can always be renegotiated" and stick to them. which means that "a character's behaviour, and the ways they interact with other characters, do not mean that the player harbours any of those sentiments unless expressed otherwise out of character" but also "all players have a right to express discomfort or dissatisfaction with the ways we're interacting through the medium of our characters, and you should not react defensively or dismiss anyone else's concerns just because it 'isn't real'".

this year my challenge for everyone is to unlearn the association between love and morality. love is not something that is inherently morally good, and the absence of love is not something that is inherently bad. sex without love isn't morally bankrupt, it's just an action. people without love aren't less kind or less good, they're just people. when we can get past this false (and often unnoticed) dichotomy of good love/evil lovelessness then i think we are going to be able to take leaps and bounds in sex positivity, aro advocacy, certain discussions of mental health...

#and also. not the direct focus. but love doesn't make things good. you can be in love and do terrible terrible things. #people do bad things in the name of love and in despite of love all the time. #but!! imagine a world where people could exist as people and not be demonized. #sex positivity means being cool about All sex. reexamine your internal systems of moral judgement. #this goes for sex workers. for aroallo people. especially aroallo men. for aro people in general who might enjoy sex. #and frankly i think it can easily bleed into discussions about mental health disorders around 'not feeling' certain things #especially demonizing ppl who don't feel as much empathy. i think there's definitely a correlation between that and the emphasis on love. #our support needs to go out to Everybody and i think these things are all structured together in one way or another!! #it might not be immediately obvious but when i tell you it all leads back to amatonormativity..... little bit wild.... large bit wild.... #anyway. horror movie psychopath 'oh he can't feel emotions or love' damn alright. well. let's take a closer look at that. #silly that there's an association between lack of love and Murdering. feel like that might affect some stuff. #love is just an emotion/a feeling it doesn't mean anything about you one way or another #same with empathy. you can feel it all you want but it doesn't inherently change the actions you choose to take #anyway. thesis statement. there is a socially constructed link between love and morality. unlearn that. #kiss kiss (<— lovelessly) #aromantic #aromanticism #arospec #talking #aroace #aspec #sex positivity
