i’m glad you’ve been doing well! as for me, i’ve been doing a bit better! still working on it, though. dw abt it, i learned my lesson, i think 🦭 (/hj) you got this lia! i’m sure we’ll both do well <3

honestly i barely passed, it was pure luck i was able to do that actually (we accept all the slander to my terrible math teacher, i won’t stop you huhu 🫶🏼 /lh) ive managed to save my sleep schedule, but who knows how long that’s gonna last! thank you! i hope to return to writing at some point, i miss it dearly 😞

summary: you felt sick the entire day, and no matter how much your boyfriend kept bugging you about it, you kept saying it was fine. it was, in fact, not fine.

content: gore warning, puking, overprotective baku, reader pushes things aside because plot, unedited writing

notes: so yall just love it when i write for the boom boom boy, so here. i was planning to do a bunch of different characters but fine. this was supposed to all around character time, but it wasn’t. fine /j /lh dw i love writin for him—✋✨

“i said open up!”

“and i said i’m fine—” your words were cut off. another shot of pain hit your stomach, and you retched again into the toilet bowl.

your sickness seemed to appear out of thin air. yesterday you were anything but sick—you were nailing the training exercises aizawa and bakugou were giving you, breezing through your quizzes, and even had a lot more energy than usual. apparently, it was the calm before the storm.

neither of you could pinpoint when things changed exactly. when you woke up today, you felt a little groggy, but not as bad as now. bakugou noticed the drained emotion in your eyes when you two were walking to school, but you said it was just a case of the mornings. he instantly didn’t like you pushing it aside, but complied nonetheless.

during school was when it started to reach an uncomfortable level a pain. headaches, dry throat, and an empty and full feeling in your stomach at the same time. bakugou spoke up again. even when it got to the point where you had to sit out during training exercises, you ignored it.

you got through the school day with an overprotective boyfriend looming over you and your brain ready to shut down at any moment. you kept telling yourself that things were okay—that you were okay…

but the minute you stepped into the dorms, it crashed on you like a wave of disease. you ran to the bathroom without a thought.

“i told you! you should’ve let me bring you back to the dorms!” bakugou scolded. “i knew there was something wrong!”

“i’m sorry, okay?! you exclaimed, still holding the rims of the toilet in front of you. “i thought it was nothing, that i could handle it! i—” you stopped yourself and threw up again. looking down (unfortunately) at the mess you made, you wanted to puke again. you choked.

bakugou sighed. “it’s… it’s fine..! just—” he banged the door again—“just let me in!”

a beat passed… and you nodded to yourself. you crawled on your hands and knees to the door, too weak to support yourself up. grabbing the knob from where you were, you turned it.

he went to go by your side, but you choked and threw up on the floor. a groan left you at the sight.

“m’sorry,” you muttered, too ashamed to look into his eyes.

bakugou nodded, then crouched in front of you. “it’s okay…” he moved a hand slowly to your back, rubbing small circles. you sighed.

“… hey.” he spoke up. did his tone change? “… is that… blood?”

you looked down, confused. there was blood. swirled into the disgusting green puddle before you, tiny bits of crimson had made its way into your puke.

“jesus!” you pushed yourself away from the puddle, your chest heaving. you looked up at bakugou. worry was the only thing in his eyes. “i-i didn’t even realize…” your gaze drifted.

“hey.” bakugou snapped his fingers twice. you looked back at him. “it’s gonna be okay.” his eyebrows were furrowed with determination, his lips a small line. “i’ll go get the nurse if you can wait a couple seconds, and she can help—”

a growl pried at your… chest?

“oh, shit.”

this sudden feeling… it was new. foreign. terrifying. you couldn’t tell what was happening to your body. you’ve never felt anything like it.

a small mass started to crawl up your throat from the inside.

you covered your mouth with a small squeak. your boyfriend’s cries were handed to deaf ears, you now only focused on two things. one: the feeling of something beating inside you making its way out, almost like it had grown sentient.

two: the question of what in the world was happening to you.

despite your best abilities to stop whatever was happening, a final retch left your lips. something far too big plopped out of your mouth. slimy liquid covered the object, dripping through the cracks of your fingers.

your hands started to shake.

you looked up at bakugou.

you’ve never seen him more scared.

there in your hands laid your heart, covered in an unknown slime, and beating slowly.

you felt another mass preparing to shoot out.

It was the rain that woke you. Seeping between the cracks of stone above you, it dripped and fell, landing with a small splash on your cheek. You had frowned in your unwilling sleep, your body urging you to stay unconscious. Then it had happened again, and again. The single drop had strengthened into a small stream of water trickling onto your face, persistent in its endeavor of waking you. You groaned in irritation and wiped at your cheek, but the miniature waterfall was stubborn, more stubborn than you ever were. You couldn’t blame it. Water always goes down after all. With a frustrated string of select words, you crack your eyes open and find yourself face-to-face with a large slab of stone. You furrow your brows, confused- you don’t recall falling asleep in a cave. The stone was smooth- much too elegant and orderly to be part of a regular cavern. What was it? Part of a building? Then why were you just getting rained on? The rain sounded rather close- you can hear it pattering on the roof of whatever structure you were inside. The ground was damp and gritty, a stark contrast from the polished walls around you, and dim light filtered in from the side your back was facing. Curiouser and curiouser, you prop yourself up on your elbow to roll over. Only to gasp and jerk as pain shoots up your legs. You fall back to the ground immediately, eyes wide with shock and horror. As your flesh and bones become re-accustomed to one another, you’re made increasingly aware of the dull pain settled in your body, flaring up whenever you do more than move your head. Memories resurface, paining your mind as well as your limbs. There was a fight in the Golden House, between the Traveler and Childe. You were there. You watched as some foreign power took control of Childe’s body and turned him into a monster, and as a burst of electro energy combined with hydro to strike you unconscious. Then everything had gone dark. Now there was no one- only you under a mysterious ruin, barely protected from the icy rain. Gingerly, you feel around your stomach for a gash or injury, only to find a firmly wrapped bandage. Your eyes widen, then you sigh in relief. Thank goodness for the haste of the Traveler- although they were nowhere to be seen, you were sure they had made sure to at least wrap your wound before being pulled away to something else more important. Your worries for them were next to none- they were the Traveler, savior of Mondstadt and quite possibly Liyue. They could take care of themself. You smile for a moment, but then your mouth drops into a worried frown. Childe- where was Childe? You can’t remember what happened to the Harbinger. You need to find him, even though he nearly struck you dead. Inhaling a deep breath, you stiffen yourself and force your body to turn over, to face the weak light shining through the rain. Your bones sing out in pain, as if they’ve been stiffened and frozen so they’re brittle, so brittle they’d snap at the slightest movement. But they don’t, even if they feel like they should. You drag yourself into a standing position, using the slippery walls as support. As you limp out of the curious cave, the heavy rain chills and numbs your skin, washing away any semblance of warmth you might’ve collected from sleep, and you look around to get your bearings. All around you are the crumbled remains of the famed Golden House. You quickly clap a hand over your mouth to suppress a scream, but nothing comes out, your voice seemingly gone from the feeling of dread in your stomach. The eternal vault and world’s supply of mora, gone. Rubble beneath your feet. You swallow thickly and shake your head, letting your gaze wander to try and calm the anxiety in your veins. Something vaguely shining catches your eye, and you shuffle closer to have a look. A thick, sticky liquid coats the ground underneath more ruins, a blue dark enough to be black and oddly glinting, like tiny stars flashing through the night sky. There’s more before you, a disjointed trail that leads into the trees, the rest of it washed away by the storm. You have a sickening idea of what it might be.

Gritting your teeth, you straighten and stand again, following the starry patches into the nearby forest. Here the path is more clear, a bold arrow of deep blue and dancing lights pointing your way. It’s a long journey up and down and around, the trees providing you constant support through your own pain. The slash on your stomach stopped bleeding, but the dried red still mocks you as you take one step after another. The sky occasionally flashes with lightning and thunders at you threateningly, but too distant to reach you. And the rain never relents. The scattered stars lead you to a cave- a real cave, good and proper- that offers you shelter from the crying clouds above. But you see nothing, and feel like crying yourself. Something blinks at you. You squeak in fear, jumping away from whatever it is- you can see its claws, sharp and true- and press yourself against the wall, unwilling to go back out into the rain. One eye stares and creeps closer, and you vaguely wonder if it’d be blinking or winking. There’s a deep, rumbling growl from the darkness as it approaches, and you shut your own eyes, too weak and injured to fight. A warm, clawed hand gently cups your face, and your breath hitches. A thumb carefully rubs your cheek, and the growl filters into a strong purr. And suddenly, you know. It’s him. It’s him. Your eyes open as quickly as they had closed, and you find yourself staring up at an enormous, monstrous Childe, almost the same as he was in the bottom of the Golden House. Up close, you see differences. What you thought was a cape is now a pair of sparkling wings, laying flat on his back, and dried cuts litter his body. He’s kneeling towards you instead of floating, and his mask has changed just barely, but enough for you to notice. He’s smiling, looking at you with a soft, fond expression. You reach up to hold his face as well, and he leans into your touch, purrs becoming steadily louder. A single tear rolls down your cheek, and he whines in concern, but you simply wipe it away. You can’t cry. Not now. A silent question hangs in the air, and when you look up, you ask him with your eyes. What happened? He simply shakes his head- he doesn’t know. But he can’t change back. Suddenly he leans in and presses his face to yours with a quiet whimper. He’s scared, just like you are. But you offer a moment of respite to calm him, although you can see how his claws clutch the ground and how his shoulders tense. Snuggling closer, you bury one hand in his fluff and place the other in his own, humming at how warm he feels compared to your rain-slicked skin. You feel his hand gently clasp yours, and the other curls around your waist as he carefully sets his head on your shoulder. As you pet his fluff and make your way up to his mask, you can hear his purrs resume as he and you both begin to drift into a cozy, peaceful sleep. Outside, the windy rain becomes a dancing melody, and the world allows a brief moment of bliss.

the cat was called pussboy by tommy, but dream only called it "the cat" and then said that "it was hope", which is why it sort of became a symbol (his hope is dead, basically) - that's why i kind of made its name capitalized, because it was more of a metaphor than anything.

most c!dream fans call the cat hope because it's just really nice and really symbolic, and also really sad when you think about it. that's why the name was used in the essay, just to clear up the confusion!

tommy killing that cat was nothing compared to dream killing mushroom henry in exile

i don't really think so? mooshroom henry was entertainment more than anything, and even if it was bad, when watching the stream i don't remember seeing him mourn that much - on the other hand, dream was very quickly and very obviously attached to the cat, with it being his only companion in months of isolation, along with the hope that even when tommy left it would keep him company.

keep in mind c!dream has been deprived of stimuli and human contact for so long it's officially classified as psychological torture at that point.

i don't mean to compare trauma or even compare deaths - because honestly, what c!dream and c!tommy have gone through individually is incomparable and i think neither should be diminished in favor of the other since they're both terrible situations.

that's why i disagree that it "was nothing compared to" - it had an obvious effect on c!dream, and was still c!tommy killing an animal specifically to hurt him, no matter what reasons he had.

when i'm talking about effects people's actions have had on c!dream, i'm not talking about those people. i'm talking about him. :) /lh

as for the trauma, a lot of people agree that a lot of the things he says or does are trauma responses, and hence it's very possible that he's had trauma before he went into prison!

this includes being repeatedly called a tyrant via propaganda by about half of your friends who decided to betray you, trying to keep peace and being pushed deeper into villainy instead, repeatedly being put in between a rock and a hard place in order to make sure the people you care about don't start killing each other, then being betrayed by your closest friends after merely trying to keep peace (sapnap & george) and just in general having no control over your life or image and grasping at straws to gain it back.

i know a lot of people with trauma who heavily relate to certain trauma responses, which aren't always just shaky breaths and flashbacks, but trauma often also manifests itself in extremely ugly and destructive ways, both inwardly and outwardly.

trying to control the people around you is also very often a response to going through trauma, as well as emotional repression which is... rather evident on c!dream during season two. it only seems to get worse with repeated abandonment.

in the end, during the vault scene, the way he acts really just isn't at all the way a healthy person would act, and a lot of his really bad mindsets come from the way he was taught by the world around him.

the character is very reserved however, and since we don't have his pov we can't really say for certain - a lot of people claim it in good faith because they have a lot of evidence for it, and i think they're certainly valid in that.

that is just before the prison, however. from what happened during the prison arc? there is no denying he's traumatized at this point.

he's been emotionally and physically abused by c!sam since the very beginning of being imprisoned, and being in solitary confinement for over two weeks is generally considered psychological (and maybe also physical?) torture. that alone shows up in a lot of symptoms of his mental deterioration while in pandora's during people's visits, and quackity's "sessions" just absolutely drove the point home.

what he's gone through during this arc is absolutely incomparable to anything others charactes have faced before, and it's just plain suffering being endured by someone who is, despite everything, still a human being.

as for the wilbur manipulation thing!! it's talking about the whole vassal scene (though even beforehand a lot of their interactions are pretty iffy), and here's a post about that :]

I also have a small question about the analysis u last reblogged cus it says "why dream needed lmanburg gone rightfully" and like. The house analogy is poor because for one cus the land is infinite. And 2 cus punz's yard was literally larger then lmanburg. And also stuff about dream being a mediator? Can u provide examples?

i wouldn't say it was poor. dream's said a lot of times that he didn't care in the slightest about the land - a lot of his problems with l'manberg arose with the fact that wilbur basically built it on lies and tried to disallow half of the server to come there. c!dream was mad about the division and the fact that wilbur wanted "freedom" to have authority in his lands - over others, as can be seen in this post also.

the table analogy was fitting not because dream was some overlord, but because these were literally friends he invited to hang out and live in a place he wanted to call home. claiming a part of it for yourself and saying people of a certain nationality can't come in is directly opposing those goals.

in the early days of the smp, dream's always been a mediator between his friends - sapnap and george, who would often get into fights and go around killing each other! he would always do his best to stop the conflict, which continued after tommy joined when he took him to court and then later tried to mediate conflicts he was a part of, which resulted in tommy killing him unprovoked, stealing his gear, and starting the disc wars when dream was trying to get his stuff back. later, during pogtopia, he is also most concerned with peace over everything, and this seems to continue indefinitely after.

Today i was thinking about how messed up the final control room was. Like. Dream arranged the betrayal and punz and sapnap killed tommy and tubbo who like. Were literal children and their pals (because the author, wilbur soot, is dead/j but srsly if u take the streamers words tommy said he was 9 during the revolution sooo)

Sorry im gonna ramble about how dumb canon ages are for a second cus like. Streamers can say the characters are one way or another (wilbur saying he is mentally 30-something, etc.) But in the end the characters act like they(or at least their streaming personas) do.

i... honestly don't find it that bad? they were in a war, and the final control room was basically just supposed to end it quicker. the l'manbergians made it clear they were going to fight to the death, so they really left c!dream no other choice. and it's not like he didn't give them chances to give up.

also yeah the 9 year old thing was retconned, because in that case c!dream would've been 14 and i don't think that's true.

c!tommy and c!dream were both young and once again, in a war. the final control room was an attempt to assure victory, which both sides would've taken if possible, but only c!dream saw he had the option.

i do agree the whole child soldier thing was bad but... complain about that to c!wilbur, methinks. he talked naive kids into fighting for his personal power. however, the age argument isn't really valid either way. they had enough agency to sign up for it, and whether or not c!wilbur pushing the intense nationalism onto them had something to do with that is another debate entirely.

Bacl to final control room cus like??? Also fun fact punz took 2 of wilbur's canon lives. And like that probably is what started wilbur's paranoia which later lead to his spiral and i. Many thoughts full of lmanburg today.

i'm pretty sure cc!wilbur said what lead to c!wilbur's spiral was a "dark, twister view of possessions" and "disregard for his fellow citizen whom he claimed to love so much", but i really wouldn't say it was the control room; if anything the sudden loss of power after the elections seems to me like the trigger for his spiral.

I watched the exile arc live and. I feel dirty almost for feeling little to no sympathy for c!dream (srry ive been forgetting to add that aa) because of his actions toward c!tommy and like. The whole probation was so humiliating and unfair and c!dream was planning to frame him for the crimes he and puffy did under the the guise of "pranks" and c!quackity was planning to seize the vice president role.

i mean... to be fair, if you didn't watch the prison arc much yet or only watch tommy's perspective i understand not feeling that sympathetic - however, i encourage you to maybe watch a few prison visits, since they could help you see the whole picture better!

i also watched it live, and i also thought it was terrible, but i share very much the same sentiment for the prison arc because. absolutely no one should have to go through either of those things, you know?

i don't think probation was that humiliating? he was just. being asked to not start conflict with the other factions for two weeks. of course, what happened as a result is in no way justified, but i don't think probation itself would've been bad at all. either way yeah the framing and c!quackity's behaviour was. very yikes, i agree.

Also c!tommy antis are dumb because they say "he deserved exile angry emoji" i dont see u saying that about ranboo. Just say you hate cc!tommy and go. Also people say c!tommy was just as toxic to c!dream and i??? No. One is the victim and one is the abuser and like. :/// man. This part is rambly srry

i wouldn't say they hate cc!tommy? cc!tommy has a persona who people think is annoying at first ( but then they subscribe because he is super entertaining big man! ) but a lot of c!tommy's actions are straight up toxic to certain characters, such as c!funndy and c!jack. he has a very dismissive attitude towards others and their trauma and it does affect the people around them very negatively.

examples; his repeated bullying and behavior towards fundy:

Tommy: “Fundy, I’m just here to kinda let you know that I – if you weren’t Wilbur’s son, you would be out of L’manburg, alright? Just remember – you need to keep that relationship with your father. I saw how asshole-y and bratty you were acting in the courtroom the other night. You need to pull your shit together young man.”

......

Fundy: “I’m wearing glasses…are you making fun of my eyesight?!”

Tommy: “Yes.”

Sapnap: “Your father would be very disappointed.”

Fundy: “Wh – disappointed for wearing glasses?!”

Tommy: “You got glasses, like what are you wearing…”

Fundy: “What do you mean?”

Tommy: “Sapnap, Sapnap, over here. Fundy, Fundy, Fundy, I’m really sorry to say this – I’m just here to publicly denounce you.”

Fundy: “…What?”

he's also responsible for a big chunk of c!jack's trauma, both with actions and words, and that's why i think certain people might dislike the character, and i don't think that's wrong of them. anyone can dislike any character they want if they don't attack people for liking them, in my opinion.

also c!tommy was most definitely toxic against c!dream in the cell. it's of course understandable but that doesn't change the fact he was constantly hitting and insulting him (without dream doing anything back for a long while until he snapped) which is toxic behaviour.

i wouldn't say he was "just as" though, so i agree with you on that. they're different and they behave differently.

Hey! I've been following your blog for a little bit now and you seem very nice! I know this probably a bit weird but just wanted to ask you if you have any advice or tips for making friends online. I'm very shy and is hard for me to start conversations but I really want to talk to people. (Especially since my irl friends are not into fandom stuff)

dw this isn’t weird! but to be honest, I am. the wrong person to ask considering I don’t really talk to people? I’ll reply to asks and comments on my posts, but that’s all reaction. when it comes to starting conversations myself, I’m abysmal. but I’ll give you my best shot - here are some things I think help me.

publicly interact with things you like. cool art? say something in the tags. banger fic? drop a sentence in the ao3 comments. ao3 comments in particular are one of the easiest (and safest, if talking makes you nervous) ways to get interaction. I’ve gotten friendly with authors just by commenting religiously on their fics.

put your own thoughts out there. liveblog a stream, yell about your favorite character, ask a question, make content. it can feel stupid talking to nobody, but when people see that you’re a person who has thoughts beyond just reblogging others’ posts, they’re much more likely to talk to you. (not that only reblogging is bad - I did that for years - but it makes you seem impersonal, yknow?)

talk to people first. this one makes me a hypocrite, but it’s true. join a discord server, participate in ask games, tell someone you think they’re cool, add your input on a post. express interest in others, and they’ll return it.

don’t be scared when people talk to you. I used to be (and still sometimes am) terrified of asks, but I’ve made it a point to leave them open anyway precisely to make it easier to talk to me. it doesn’t get easier until you face your fears.

people with common interests = support system. reaching out online is a double edged blade - it feels safe because you’re anonymous, but can be more dangerous because everyone else is also anonymous. if you get active in a community with similar interests as you and make yourself a familiar name, you’ll have a bit of a safety net should a dick try to harass you, which in turn makes it easier to be active. and the more you support other people, the more support you’ll get back.

like I said, I’m no expert, but I hope this is at least a little helpful? I totally get being shy and not having irl friends who are into fandom - that’s the same reason I retreat online. best of luck, anon!

Hello anon~ soz for the late reply, was procrastinating I’m gonna assume you meant ‘dttwt’ and this is referring to my first ever post in this blog? Lol that was months ago but issok, I’m done with twt depending on the side of the bed I wake up in. I find twitter to be generally more tiring, and I already don’t have much energy to burn online. Before I say anything else, here is the compulsory ‘I know dttwt has a lot of amazing people!’ statement (/lh) I mean, I still do use twitter lmao bc what am I meant to do on my free time if not play 50/50 with twt whether going there would ruin my mood or not </3 More under the cut if you’re up for my ramblings. No dttwt-loving here since you asked why I’m done.

uhh here’s more disclaimer so hopefully people don’t misunderstand my words, this isn’t me generalizing all of dttwt but just parts of it that I experienced. I may sound mean and definitely sarcastic, but I swear this is mostly light hearted from my end lmao

- Unneeded drama (surprising, I know /s)

- They’re yet to learn the art of dealing with things privately.

- The constant clout chasing. I don’t really have anything against those who do (Idek them), it’s just tiring to see all the time. The “spare #?” Haha no. And like, there IS a hierarchy in dttwt, admit it or not. DTeam interaction, follower count and heck, even being an “OG” when those OGs posts their poorly worded reminiscing tweets that come off as gatekeepy to newer stans then wonder why they make people upset lol

- They usually have this counterproductive way of dealing with things they don’t want attention to. i.e. tweeting a screenshot of something they allegedly don’t want DTeam to see (as if they don’t know our beloved blob doesn’t lurk there). - Their obsession with the UK vlog. I just think it’s tasteless that they still fill George’s replies with stuff about the vlog. They also ask for proof that it’s real when Dream and George has given them that but they didn’t believe.

- Their need to assert their spot in having the moral high ground. How many call out posts do I have to see in my tl that probably don’t even reach their intended audience? Me, being tired of it doesn't mean I think it's bad, I'm just tired. How many nsfw fics are they gonna mention just to feel good about themselves? That there are “gross people” out there making those? (if you make nsfw content for DTeam, unapologetically make them since they’re fine with it... or consume those works? You do you haha). I’m so done with people posting about nsfw fics just to collectively freak out with their followers. DMs and GCs exist, please, if you really must scream. On another note, they don’t want to be generalized but also do it to the other platforms of DTeam fandom. They hated the ‘ever so horny’ DTTiktok so much that the A1 idea came to be. (I know some who did it and others that didn’t)

- Their hatred towards DTeam shippers. This kinda goes with the point above but I just want it to have a point of its own lmao They can get so hostile against shippers who haven’t even done anything wrong, even though DTeam has repeatedly said they’re fine with it. Additionally, shipping =/= sexualizing... tho Idk if they’ve now fully accepted that they stan the biggest dnf shipper, Mr.WasTaken, himself. shipping sells and he knew it

- The distaste towards fanfiction. They think it’s so weird to write rpf but it’s praiseworthy if done in illustrations. Fanarts/Fancomics can get as shippy as possible and they get a pass (as long as it’s not nsfw). Don’t get me wrong, I love artists and I am an artist myself. I kinda get it that it takes less time to consume visual art than a fic that you have to read, but the double standard with written fanworks and illustrations are just mehh. BUT HEY, it’s okay to read/write fanfics IF it’s a joke, as if the only way to enjoy fics is by mocking the craft.

- The copypastas that only hit the jackpot in being funny once in a blue moon. At worst, it’s their go to in dealing with arguments/statements they don’t agree with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Another incident, might be a nitpick but Idk, turning non-crack fanfiction summaries into copypastas. Dttwt touching fanfics just makes my insides shrivel up because of the point above. I write fanfics too and I’m not fond about the idea of my fics having twitter publicity. Of any kind.

I think that’s about it? for now but dw, the account that annoy me most is twitter user dreamwastaken2 (/hj) and most of all, the thing I really hate about twitter is the character limit.

So yea, in conclusion, I don’t like twitter.

so the answer is: none. he shouldn’t be punished, actually! he should learn on his own that what he did wasn’t right, and that’s about it. that’s the thing about transformative justice. him becoming a better person who Wouldn’t Do That again because it goes against who he is.

however, there’s also restorative justice, which is working to “make it up” to the victims. to which i propose; dream has the revival book and could literally bring him back once he is out of the prison. give him some powder maybe. md would probably be chill w/ that.

no i’m - i’m pretty sure that’s just how it works. dream still owns the smp, but he himself has said wayy back at the beginning “everyone can build and go wherever they want” and that was that. it was one of his rules on the smp, it was his main problem with l’manberg. being able to build anywhere were the rules that he “had the right” to enforce. and he did, not because he was a god, but because it was his smp, his home that he claimed for his friends. wouldn’t call it a big debate, it’s really that simple.

seriously though i haven't been invested in kotlc in a short while because of other stuff and the lack of new official content, but dang- this is really good- it's like a full book! like full- with the storyline, and the wording, and the development! i checked the wordcount before i started reading- and quil... you WROTE A WHOLE BOOK?! you're still writing a book!

I just- wow!

anyways i'll be back to finish this in the next few days, but i'm super excited to catch up and i'm super excited for dragon wings marella lol

i think you should know that every time I answer one of these I have to pull up the chapter you're talking about in a different tab because i never remember what happens in each one. You probably know what happens in the first chapters better than I do tbh, which I think is hilarious. but back to what you're saying

"quil best writer award when." I'm. I am floored. I am speechless. I am so flattered. this is such high praise!! i am just a funky little guy writing some funky little words!! I feel I must confess this: I actually hardly edit the au at all. ever. when I say I'm "editing" I actually mean "I'm reading it once to see if there's obvious things wrong or things I want to explain more" but that's it. every chapter has just been a first draft, go with the flow kinda thing. and yet!! here we are!! I don't even know what i'd do with a best writer award--probably put it next to the new dragon on my bookshelf so they could vibe. I don't know if what i'm saying makes any sense, but ahh!! thank you!!

I will single-handedly rebuild the fandom during this content drought and reel you all back in with my novel-length fanfiction /j. okay but honestly the wings au is probably gonna turn out to be like...actually fantasy-novel length at this rate. like a published novel. but thank you so much--the storyline was one of the things I was hesitant about when i first published it, because I essentially just went "hey. remember those eight and a half novels and all their worldbuilding? forget almost everything. i've broken it into pieces and we're starting over." but you all have been overwhelmingly kind and supportive of all the changes and the way i've incorporated their old world into this new one I broke. and the wording! I try to stay true to some of Shannon's style, as sometimes when a fanfic author has a style too different from the original media it can feel weird and less like the characters (not always! there are several fics out there with very unique writing styles that don't feel strange at all, this is just something I've personally noticed). But, shannon is also writing for middle grade, and I wanted to add my own personal twist instead of just using her voice. so there's some things of my own that I do (most noticeable is the intentional misuse of grammar for drama, probably, but I am curious what else you all notice that's unique to me) and don't do (I don't think i've used "corrected" as a dialogue tag more than a handful of times) to separate it. and then the development! a lot of development in canon rn has to do with romantic relationships, as we're focusing on the aftermath of sophitz and a focus on sophie and keefe, but we can't separate them from their tension and denial at the moment. I think there's a lot more to them we don't get to see because of it, so I'm trying to develop some of that in the wings au (and there's some characters I just haven't gotten to yet, like Wylie and Maruca, so I'm not ignoring them, dw)

and yes! I am still basically writing a book! at this point I should design a cover for it too...I wonder what would be on it, the parts that stand out the most in the story that I should symbolize it all in one image. but before I get to that I should continue writing the story I suppose! I'm currently maybe 40% (rough estimate) of the way through writing chapter 13, but I must admit my classes do make it annoying at times, taking up more time than I would like (this is what I get for taking more classes than I strictly needed to. you sent this a few days ago, so I don't know if you've finished your reread/catch-up since then, but if you did I hope you enjoyed it!! if you haven't then I hope you will enjoy if you ever do read the rest! there's about a week before the next chapter comes out, which is around 8.1k words at the moment (same length as the last one), so if you are caught up then there's even more to look forward to soon! and i'll probably post the first snippet from chapter 12 tomorrow, as I usually do that the sunday before posting day.
