Which of your characters is hardest to write? Easiest?

Happy STS! Thank you for the ask, though it's a tough question to answer. I hate feeling like I'm picking favorites, and who's easiest and hardest to write can change day to day and project to project.

That said, for OCs I probably have the easiest time writing Ian Ward from the novel WIP "Apricots." Even when the pacing of his story is difficult to figure out or I get stuck in the plot, Ian himself is usually very natural to write. His way of thinking about things is very clear to me, so it's almost always a straightforward process to figure out how he'll act in a given scene. His boyfriend Kade Bailey is similarly easy to handle as an OC, since his way of thinking is largely similar to mine. Ironically, the hardest OC to write is also one who's very similar to me. River Page from the novel WIP "To Be Honest" is basically a personification of my cptsd fawn tendencies, amplified by his magic nature. Even when I know exactly what he's thinking and what he'll do, I still struggle due to the emotional cost of writing him. He and his love interest are both as important to my personal recovery as they are to their own plot, so there's a distinct sense of therapeutic struggling when I write them.

For fanfiction, I have the easiest time writing characters whose personalities have been heavily analyzed by other fans. The more fellow fans have reshaped them, the more freedom I feel I have to do the same. It's easy to get in chatacter when I know any deviations from canon will just be me doing the same molding of clay that canon handed to me as any other fanfic writer does. The more analysis and shaping I have to do for a character, if they're from an unpopular or little-known fandom, the harder it is to write them with that same sense of freedom and not just constantly wonder if they should be completely destroyed and rebuilt as OCs instead.

hey jsyk while hellofresh is dummy expensive and i wouldn’t recommend it if you already know how to cook (if you’re a beginner like i was when i had it for 3 months, then it’s worth it), you should know that ALL OF THEIR RECIPES are free on their website and they all fuck hard

i will say that all the cooking instructions for veggies are pretty much the same (season with salt + pepper and roast on the top oven rack at 425F), but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

that being said, it also introduced me to methods i wasn’t at all expecting. i would have never thought to use cream cheese in my meat sauce, and now all my friends are constantly asking me to make my special rigatoni.
