mister laios dungeon meshi…. as an autistic person, i dont think ive ever related more to a character before.
like laios being so disinterested by the human world around him, unable to understand it and growing bitter towards humans because of how much and how easily they hurt. with monsters theres a Reason for what they do — its all survival, and that makes sense. humans, however, hurt just to hurt. all the suffering that he and falin went through have been because of humans. why would he like them? why would he ever be interested in them? he and falin have Never been afforded being seen as humans.
i feel like, with laios, he likes who he likes, and he doesnt really think about people he doesnt like. sure they exist, and he knows and acknowledges this, but theyre not his. the only humans that really matter to him are the ones that hes grown attached to. hes very compassionate but thats because its in his nature. if he wasnt a kind person at heart, i dont think he’d bother with people at all. that kindness is such a core part of him.
if he were in the modern world i just KNOW that guy wouldnt care about a career or school or even all these supposedly human aspirations that people have-- these long term goals, these big lofty ideals. he would just care about the day to day. working to ensure theres a roof over his head and food on the table. reading about monsters. having dinner with his friends. making sure his loved ones are all doing okay. and i can just imagine people being like "but dont you want... more?" and laios being so confused. why WOULD you ever want more? why would he ever want to give himself to the rat race? be exhausted constantly? work towards a goal that only other people view as worthy? why, when what he has right here is exactly what he wanted!! laios doesnt have these "human" desires and thats a core part of why he feels so alienated from other people. so different. like a monster himself. and as someone who is autistic, let me just say.….. me too buddy.

Heyyyy I saw your Danny Phantom comic about him reading the Great Gatsby during the fight with Vlad (great art btw), and I was wondering if u could give a long-suffering student a rundown of the themes?
Tumblr media
I’m gonna cover the themes I can think of off the top of my head and if you really need me to go into more details, I CAN??? But this is just a quick “it’s 7 in the morning for me and I’m actually gonna hyperfixate real quick” kinda moment.
Tumblr media
Yes, there are two kinds of rich people, and yes, one side really doesn’t like the other. It’s apparent in Tom and all of his opinions of Gatsby are later on in the book when he finally attends one of his fancy parties.
Old money gets their opinions and styles and tastes from their parents who got it from their parents. It’s a boys club, if you’re in? You’re in, and it’s hard to get in unless you’re of a certain pedigree.
New money? Loud. Outrageous. Doesn’t even know what to do with all that money and everyone is welcome to enjoy it. Gatsby owns a BRIGHT ASS YELLOW CAR not because it’s of a certain model but because it screams loud and expensive and “look at me” and it’s not just cause he’s trying to get with your wife. He knows how to ACT like old money, to a certain degree, but at the end of the day, he can’t hide that he wasn’t born into it.
Tumblr media
An unreliable narrator is usually a story told from a first person point of view and their own biases can often warp the reader’s perspective on the events unfolding. Nick even tries to clarify that he doesn’t judge people. Yeah, OUT LOUD, but he’s judging internally. Which is making you, the reader, judge. Tom has an affair with Myrtle Wilson. Nick IS quietly judging them although he tries not to and how could he not? Daisy is his cousin, and he sees the man she’s married make her move away from Chicago and Tom is not hiding his affair very well, she clearly knows about it and hates it.
Oh but here comes Gatsby, with this beautiful story of how he fell in love and went to war and couldn’t be with her and came back and she’s MARRIED and now he’s trying to win her back- and Nick HELPS HIM. THAT’S NOT UNBIASED. HE IS SWAYED. He sides with Gatsby through and through, even when he starts to see the flaws in Gatsby’s vision, he wants to cheer for him.
Tumblr media
We’re going back to the green light here for a minute. Gatsby gets a house DIRECTLY ACROSS the lake from where Daisy’s is. There’s the green light at the end of her dock that flashes, that’s a reminder to Gatsby when he looks out that his dream is just over there. Daisy, the perfect gal, along with acceptance into the fancy rich lifestyle. He wants to meet her parents, he wants to have kids with her, he wants to be a somebody, an established respectable person.
But he’s kind of fooling himself too. He wants too much. It’s not enough to have Daisy, she needs to RENOUNCE her ever loving Tom and then properly marry him. He wants to be a part of the boy’s club, but Tom finds out that he has gained his wealth through the mafia and that’s not very respectable! He wants Daisy to call him in the morning, a call that never comes because she won’t cast aside her lifestyle for him. She was raised to trust and live in the sheltered life she was brought up in, even if she’s unhappy. It’s safer than the unknown. She chooses to stay with Tom, as even she realizes she can’t live up to Gatsby’s ideals.
Tumblr media
It’s ironic cause this is the Oxford English Dictionary definition and Gatsby is an “Oxford Man!” Not only has Gatsby idealized on the American Dream, but it’s a dream that was never real. Yes, he did get rich, but not because he had equal opportunities. He got lucky to help out an old rich man on his boat (WHICH HE DIDNT EVEN GET ANY MONEY FROM) to learn the rich social skills, and he worked with the mafia to get all his wealth. Yes, he got Daisy, but not REALLY. He had an affair with her. They didn’t marry properly, didn’t have kids, didn’t move in together. And Daisy never intended on doing any of these things. She wanted to run away.
And Gatsby was never going to get these things because he wasn’t BORN rich. Tom represents the concept of Old Money so well not only in how he lacks any genuine character that isn’t inherited from his father, but how protective he is of keeping the status quo, so that he remains in power and no one who doesn’t fit the club can come in.
And Gatsby pays the price of his affair while Tom gets away with everything. How is this the American Dream? It isn’t.
Okay, that’s my stuff. I can go into symbolism on the yellow car and big billboard and all that other stuff if this was helpful at all. I hope it is helpful???

I want to address a few things that Norman said in Le Parisien. The article isn't free, and I'm not going to encourage anyone to pay for something they might not like, but if you do want the link, DM me and I'll send it. Thank you to the person who read and translated this:
Tumblr media
Defending himself against others trying to throw him under the bus is one thing, but denying all responsibility for the title accomplishes absolutely nothing except further insulting a significant portion of Daryl's fanbase. These fans, specifically Carylers, were all paying close attention when he said the exact opposite on Jimmy Kimmel. Watch at 8:45:
youtube
The video is from late last year. Melissa's negotiations for S2/S3 started last summer and her deal closed at the end of the year per my sources, which means there was (at least) a loose plan to bring her back before S1 started shooting. Norman confirms Pilgrim was a working title at some point, but he doesn’t mention Raise the Dead, which was more than likely planned as the official title of the show while they were shooting between October '22 and February '23.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I bring up the timeline because even if you believe Melissa was always part of the French spinoff, Norman’s other favorite narrative right now, the implication is still this: Norman, AMC, and the other EPs were fully aware that Melissa was coming back when they officially landed on a title excluding her. You could argue Daryl has the most name recognition from being the most marketed character or that his tags on SM have 6 billion views or, hey, let’s make it 6 trillion (how much of that overlaps with Daryl and Carol content btw?), but as we saw, that doesn’t guarantee all those viewers will watch the show, which is how AMC makes money. If there are two leads on the show, naming it after one lead doesn't make any sense from a marketing perspective because AMC is missing out on attracting more audience, promoting two characters and their chemistry instead of just one character.
So. They either manipulated the situation to give Norman and the other EPs what they wanted or, once again, they dismissed Melissa’s/Carol’s vitality to the show. Or both. Regardless, it poses a big problem for me, because Carol's ability to stand her ground against anyone who thinks less of her is what draws me to her character. I can't reconcile that with the obvious tactics Norman and the other EPs use to claim the show for themselves, completely ignoring fans who may be critical, yes, but ultimately just want the story both Daryl and Carol have earned.
Speaking of being ignored, I heard from multiple fans that AMC did in fact send out a survey regarding the title. I can't confirm because I haven't seen the survey myself, but if you're doing market research, you need a target audience, and if you're doing market research on what you know will (eventually) be a Daryl and Carol show, you should probably target Daryl and Carol fans, shippers or otherwise. Not that it's the most appropriate way to choose a title (not even close), but where's my survey? Did any Carylers get to participate? Did anyone bother to check? Because to me, it sounds like the focus group they used for their market research wasn't aimed at their target audience at all. It's possible they did the market research with a sample audience of the flagship show or just Daryl fans who are a percentage of their audience but not all their audience. If they used an audience that incorporated Carylers, Daryl fans and GA — the feedback for that title would've been mixed. If they focused their market research on mostly Carylers, the feedback would've heavily leaned towards having an inclusive title.
So many fans, not just Carylers, hate the title. It's boring, it's offensive, it's pretentious, it's misogynistic, etc. etc. These are fans who want to watch and enjoy the show, who are expected to pay for it, so why don't their opinions carry more weight? Why is there still such a strong disconnect between AMC and Carol/Caryl fans when that's exactly what caused the backlash last year? Why are they not doing everything they can to avoid the same mistakes?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for this:
Tumblr media
Most of it is true except for one important detail. Angela Kang's spinoff was going to be a road show shot and set in the U.S. That's the phone call Norman is alluding to. That's the spinoff Melissa signed on for. To say otherwise makes her look unprofessional and flaky for "dropping out" knowing all along she'd have to relocate, and that's not what happened at all. It's like there's no consideration for his co-workers' images while he's trying to rebuild his own, and that is unprofessional.
To be very clear, this is not meant to be a smear campaign. My intention here is to point out how deceptive the PR/marketing strategies have been and how they're hurting everyone, including Norman. I can't for the life of me see any business sense in repeatedly gaslighting and alienating a profitable fanbase, treating Daryl and Carol fans like they're stupid, or insinuating a Daryl and Carol show can't belong to Daryl and Carol fans. The more Norman talks about the spinoff's inception, the more it ensures people will never trust a single thing that comes out of his mouth ever again, and that sucks because if he just focused on what the audience wants, insisting that Melissa is his equal on the show, talking about the characters in meaningful ways, supporting Daryl's and Carol's relationship, he could sell it easily. Fans should be getting excited for their story, not reliving last year's trauma over and over and over again. Melissa is back and that's exciting, but story still matters. Both on and off screen (precisely why we need someone else on board who can manage all of that really well). I've asked this several times before. I'll keep asking until someone listens. Can we please move the fuck on from the spinoff fiasco?
And change the title.

Heya hey mother pookie🩷 So here’s my thoughts.
Can’t stress this enough and will keep on saying it that Lebron is just…
Tumblr media
It’s sad u know? just… sad! Idk how to explain but it’s sad that’s not pity. The closest word I can think of is pathetic. She’s pathetic but not to the point I feel sorry for her.
Honestly, if she wasn’t a bit cray2, delusional, obsessive, manipulative, a pick me, I would’ve actually feel bad for her but then she’s not
She’s a whole red flag and if Buckybaby doesn’t see that in the future, RIP his eyes and sanity but as said by Mother Pookie before, this Bucky is better and so I have faith in him. It’s just that his action might be later on than now bcs he always thought of Lebron as his friend only. Before he never been interested so hard in a dame before but now that he’s actually starting to fall in love with Major, he’s going to notice her delusionalism (this word doesn’t exist btw)
Btw Leechoney… what do you expect😭😫 Like… what? Ofc he’s going to lie to you bcs of your attitude. She’s acting as if Bucky is her boyfriend (i bet in her mind she thinks that). She’s going to confront Bucky the next day I tell ya. She’s not the type to back down too. I can imagine the shrill of her voice right now and it’s making me cringe. I bet she gunna stomp her feet like a child demanding Buckybaby to explain why he lie to her and who’s he with. She’s the type to use the ‘but I’m your bestfriend’ reason too, which is hella annoying. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes so hard it refuse to come back down, but it had too bcs I need to read the upcoming part.
Personally, it’s fun to read Lenovo’s POV. Imagine if Jade had one?! That would be cruel yet interesting😂 Reading the antagonist view has a different vibe because there will be a time where we don’t understand why they’re acting the way they are and in a sense of way, we’re psychologically interpreting/discussing their behaviour which is fun. I lurve it!!
Lastly, as usual, great writing, Happy mother’s day to your mama Pookie and others as well andd ofcc as usual, love you Mother Pookie🩷🩷🩷
Tumblr media
PS// One of my cat is sick rn. Please pray that he’ll be better tomorrow (He’s not meowing as usual, wobbly wobbly too, these past few days the weather has been unexpected, changing between heavy rains then scorching hot in seconds, and i hope it’s not affecting him. This is why we need an actual cat as a doctor, like a cat doctor, not human doctor just so they could take care of other cats ASAP)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like it's easy to put deLulu in the crazy bucket, but she's definitely motivated more by selfishness than by any kind of mental illness. She could have easily asked Bucky out at any point over the last four years. Who knows-- he might have said yes. She just kind of expected him to fall for her, so don't feel bad for her. She's been manipulating his relationships for a long time now.
She's definitely put Bucky in this quasi-boyfriend role, where she treats him like a bf and expects him to treat her like a gf, just minus the sexual/romantic element... for now (in her mind). She's used to being the only girl of significance in his life, and it's going to hit her hard when that changes. And it changes very, very soon.
Bucky will start seeing problems with the way she acts, but he won't necessarily put two and two together right away. Because, to him, the idea of a romantic relationship between him and her is just... so far out there. She is a friend; he's never, ever seen her as anything else. The idea has never crossed his mind. So, when trying to come up with motives for her behavior, jealousy will not be the first one to come to mind.
I think I would have been too terrified to have ever written a Jade POV. It would have been so scary in that head, lol.

Ok I want to say something about episode 10 and Stede’s ‘selfishness’ (and why Stede left - spoiler alert: it’s trauma). I put selfishness in quotes because I completely understand how and why he is interpreted that way, but I don’t think that selfish is quite the right way to describe it in this instance: I’m not saying that Stede isn’t selfish at all, I just don’t think it’s an accurate explanation of his actions in the moment.
Stede has been taught by years and years of bad experience that he is the problem. He doesn’t fit in with the other pirates, which is expected because of the class divide/his privilege. But he also doesn’t fit in at all with his own class either. As a kid, he was relentlessly bullied for being different. All we ever hear from his father is criticism. He never fits in with his family(pre-running away): in the dinner table scene, his only comment is immediately met with an awkward silence before they move on, completely ignoring him (this scene hit hard because I’ve had people react that way to me way too often and it fucking hurts). Stede also says in ep 5 “I was never really good at these things,” when talking about the party - the typical way of interaction for his class, and it is VERY clear throughout that episode that he is not ‘one of them’ by the way he is treated by them. There is not a single time in his old life where he is accepted for who he is.
Now let me tell you from experience, years and years of being lonely and unwanted, never fitting in, no matter how hard you try, does not do good things to your mental state. I feel like this especially applies to autistic people (and I definitely read Stede as autistic btw), as often it’s not even like we can change anything and magically be liked. You learn that YOU are the problem, it’s always YOUR fault. This, my friends, leads to a shit ton of crippling self hate.
So really, it’s no wonder that what Chauncey says really gets to him. His view of himself is so skewed by his past trauma that he cannot see himself as anything other than the monster Chauncey makes him out to be. Stede absolutely loves Ed. He cares about him so much, and wants Ed to be happy, so he does what he thinks is right - he leaves. He thinks so terribly of himself that he is convinced that his mere existence is ruining Ed’s life. Therefore, he thinks that the only way to ensure Ed’s happiness is if he is not there. (It’s heartbreaking to be honest. This poor man needs a hug so bad)
Stede leaves because he genuinely believes that Ed is better off without him. This was not a selfish decision: Stede isn’t putting himself above Ed, it’s actually the other way around. We know that Stede doesn’t want to return to his old life. He was utterly miserable all the time and he was so lonely. The only time that he is truly accepted by others without judgement is once he’s met Ed. Why would he want to give that up, especially after a lifetime of bullying? He doesn’t. But because he cares so much about Ed’s happiness, he does what he is convinced is the best thing - he leaves. The issue isn’t that he doesn’t care about Ed’s needs, it’s that he cares, but he’s so traumatised that he is wrong about what those needs are.

Hello o/ i just finished midterm im finally free orz.How are you doing?
I want to asked what do you think about Fukuchi?like his relationship or morality anything in general.Hes such an interesting character i wish ppl talk about him more.
hello! i’m pretty good! finished a read through bsd beast today (fantastic novel btw) and will work on some writing tonight i think!
i hope your midterm went well!! feel free to tell me about it if you’d like :) i’m interested
and ty for asking about fukuchi! i have lots to say about him.
fukuchi - my opinion
first off i will preface this by saying i USED to be a fukuchi hater. he used to really piss me off but looking back it was 100% biased towards the characters he hurt and i didn’t think too much of his motives. i actually really like him now and believe he’s very underrated.
for starters, i LOVE his design. the face scars especially really tie everything together. i also like his silly moustache hehe
his role as a hunting dog was really great and i hope we see more of that—some sort of pre-DoA scenes where we see the hunting dogs work together so i can look into their dynamics more. it seems that he genuinely was a good leader and cared for his squad. he was fun and lighthearted and seemed to be kind to his subordinates.
i really hope we get some sort of scenes where we see him interacting with the other members of the DoA, flashback scenes or something. we only really seen him interact with bram. i feel he would have gotten along well with sigma, since neither of them are bad people. in contrast i want to see him interact with fyodor and nikolai for the very opposite purpose.
i somewhat sympathized with fukuchi when he was fighting atsushi and akutagawa, his view on war clearly messed him up a ton and he just appeared to have a bad approach to solving what was right. i regret to admit i think i let a lot of the general perception of fukuchi hinder my opinion on him here. i understood his motives to a degree but couldn’t like him for that (which has since changed).
i wholeheartedly believe fukuchi is a good person. he is severely traumatized from all the war he had to deal with, which altered his perception on a good approach to solving things.
assuming he is around 45 years old, he would have received the warning of the war at the age of 9. imagine being a small child and realizing you have to save millions from dying? yet throughout it all he kept a great composure and was kind to others. the scenes where he was with fukuzawa as a child showed he was a good kid despite the huge task he would need to complete. this displays immense courage.
now more onto the DoA era.
notice how he turned everyone into vampires instead of just killing them? partially this was likely to build an army, however i assume part of it was to keep people from dying. he doesn’t want any more bloodshed and did what was necessary. he never told anyone about this though, there’s a good chance bram would have been more willing to help had he been open about the plan. maybe?
the way he treated bram wasn’t great though. it would have been cool to see him talk to bram about it and they work together. of course bram didn’t really seem to care too much about humanity before meeting aya, so he may have not agreed.
fukuchi was also incredibly smart for trusting fukuzawa to do what was right. it really shows their bond and how they knew each other. i’d love to look into their dynamics more, especially the scene where fukuchi tries to convince fukuzawa to go to war since there was a ton of symbolism there.
fukuchi and jouno’s bond also intrigues me. we know he invited jouno to the hunting dogs with the goal of him joining the DoA yet jouno was too influenced by good to be able to do it. i wonder if fukuchi would have told jouno the truth in the case that he agreed to join? or did he assume jouno was willing to be a ruthless killer? id like to think that fukuchi believed jouno had the morality to keep the agency safe despite being supposed to act evil; since fukuchi didn’t actually want them dead. ill make a longer analysis about this idea soon actually since it has the little gears in my head turning.
his relationship with tachihara is also interesting to me. i haven’t thought too much into it, but i believe fukuchi said something along of being disappointed in tachihara’s "betrayal". it makes me wonder if maybe he had hoped tachihara’s morality had changed in the mafia so he would never need to face him in battle? i’ll have to reread the chapters and look into this more.
his relationship with teruko also is one that makes me quite sad. she looked heartbroken as she had to kill him. she was also the only one he told other than fukuzawa about his real plan (as far as im aware). they were definitely close.
in the end, fukuchi’s reveal of the truth and everything he had been dealing with for so long made his actions make a ton of sense. he was just a person with a huge responsibility who tried to save things as well as he could. i really wish he could have gotten closure on the world he saved (if he is truly dead). he’s a fantastic character and has a ton of depth. i only scratched the surface here. maybe i will need to make an "in defence of fukuchi" essay at some point.

Oh gods, this girl was so messy about LGBT stuff and POCs. Like she straight up used to sexualise and woobify the POC in a book series we read (constantly talking about how she wanted a Chinese character to spank her, alongside treating two Native twins as her Uwu Babies). Then she’d get absolutely outraged and bitch if anyone she knew irl mentioned anything remotely sexual because ‘how dare they! didn’t they know she was ace?! Why are they so weird?!’ which, as a fellow ace person, always felt like such an insane take.
The trans thing with Meli is Wild. She did such a U-Turn. Went from criticising JKR and the way she treated trans people to full blown transphobia. Like she originally clarified my pronouns with me when I started using He/Him, telling me about an enby friend she had irl, told me about her niece and then went Full misgendering her enby ‘friend’ and trying to tell me that cis was a slur invented by a German pedophile. 💀💀
Also going off some of her old Twitter links? Madly anti-immigrant. Her old account was chimeracuddles btw. She deleted it because of some drama in the Vikings fandom? Idk. I just know she made some call out posts and shit. All Extremely Dramatic.
Also sorry that I’m just Going Off and this is a big slog of text again but I s2g I’ve been waiting for someone to call her out on her shit for so long. Only thing that stopped me was that she knows too much irl shit about me. Honestly I’m just sorry anyone else had to deal with her shit. 💜
this is just scary AND disgusting like…. we used to talk about being ace cause i’m also on the ace spectrum but i’m still a lesbian and can be sexual at times but she was definitely extreme about being aroace the few times we spoke. she’d also randomly mention maybe being into women when we’d talk.. idk if that was supposed to entice me but she failed ☠️☠️
she seriously seemed to tolerate/like everyone BUT Black women so the fetishizing shit doesn’t surprise me at all. the way you’re describing her changing is almost identical to her describing shallow’s change in views like just a lying ass bitch fr 🥴
she also briefly mentioned vikings fandom drama and some doxxing or whatever but i don’t really care bout that wypipo shit so i tuned it out lmaosjsks
no need to apologize though! i did the same when i found out cause she’s revolting and the entire experience just made me angry asf lol. if this was real life i would have beat that bitch’s ass. i’m glad you’re away from her now (all of us) and if that bitch ever even attempts to return and threaten anyone i already have friends in cybersecurity ready to get her ass. i genuinely believe that scared her most because we spoke enough for her to know i was serious about knowing people who were experts at that kind of thing. anyways good riddance 😌

I am sorry for the rant but I am sick and tired of George getting hate and ***** threats for racing.. he made a really good strategy call today, which he checked with the team btw!! what was the worst that could have happened if it didn't work, not a lot?
Also did Bono say anything to Lewis about George's request? I wonder what they would have said if he had ignored it... so much for teamwork but as long as Lewis is ok then?
I cannot believe that Mercedes has let it go on for so long. Surely they see it??
He made a strategy suggestion that’s the key to the whole ridiculousness. He asked if it was a viable option or a possible thing to try to protect the 4/5 for the team because a) he had damage and b) he didn’t know what pace Leclerc had behind him. He didn’t insist on it or beg for it. The team didn’t give him a definitive yes or no so he asked for an answer. Toto told him not to worry because they could obviously see Leclerc’s pace wasn’t going to catch them so they didn’t need to take the risk with the inverting in the wet and that was it.
Strategy is part of racing. It’s become a running joke that Mercedes’ strategy isn’t the strongest since they’ve not been winning as often, so what does it matter if a driver wants to chip in with his own suggestions. Even more so what does it matter if they’re spitballing with their engineers and it doesn’t go any further than that? If every driver was doing what George was doing it might make for some more interesting racing… it’d definitely make for more interesting viewing in full races.
And the most annoying part is it’s not even team orders. Like, calling it that is a distinct misunderstanding of what ‘team orders’ are. Charles in Brazil ‘22 was asking for team orders. Mercedes in Zandvoort ‘21 was team orders. Team orders is specifically asking one driver to stop racing for the benefit of another. Asking a driver to adapt how they race is strategy. Alonso in Hungary ‘21 was not team orders it was strategy to help Esteban..
It’s getting out of hand. The personal insults and threats are just a joke now and it’s genuinely sucking the enjoyment out of F1 recently for me. No driver should be subject to those sort of comments for doing their job and if you wouldn’t like to read it about your driver then don’t send it to another. I mean I’d get it if it was part of some all out inter teammate war like in Ferrari, but it’s literally one sided. I think 95% of the George fans I know adore Lewis too?!
It’s just such a stupid overreaction to a conversation that probably wouldn’t even get aired if it was between the two Williams drivers for example.
People act like he’s targeting Lewis somehow, but George has ALWAYS controlled the strategy of his own races. At Williams he essentially had to and it’s become part of his driving style. It’s only recently that people seem to have taken it as some kind of negative. I fail to see how it’s really harming anyone. It’s literally no one else’s issue unless it gets put into practice? People have become far too preoccupied with driver’s radios with their engineers. If you want a passive driver then support a passive driver?! He literally can’t win. Not enough personality off track, too much personality on track, either way it’s wrong for some people.

Help - I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole again. Currently rereading IY and have some questions (if you have time to answer):
1. Does Jeyne, Cat, or Ned know about Joffrey’s abuse? If so, how did they react?
2. After Sansa left Joffrey, why didn’t her family pay off her loans?
3. Will almost one night stand guy or Joffrey make an appearance? Will Ygritte?
4. Was the camping trip the only interaction between Ned and Sansa? What does Ned think of Jon/Sansa?
5. Do Jayde and Sansa share daddy issues?
6. Would you ever write a prequel with Ned Danye and Sansa? - their relationship seems so very sweet and I love sweet.
7. Sansa seems so very secure considering she looks nothing like the women from Jon’s previous two relationships. Will that security continue or will she freak out at some point?
Thank you for taking the time to read my list of questions. Sorry if these have been asked and answered.
That’s okay! Sometimes when I’m writing, I forget you guys aren’t in my head so you can’t see the big picture like I can and I forget to add some details. I’ll fill you in!
1. Nobody knows but Jeyne. Ever since, Jeyne has been really protective of her when it comes to guys since. Hence her distrust of Jon.
2. She didn’t go back to her family until recently, which was just two years ago. She was too ashamed to ask them for help. By the time she came back, she’d been out of school for quite some time. They asked her if she needed help with money or anything, and she told them that she was fine and she had a great new job (by this time, she had just started working with Jon, so this was true) but they don’t know the extent of Sansa’s debt. They’re aware that she might have a little, but they’re under the impression that Cersei was paying for her tuition—which she was….until things went left. She couldn’t tell them what happened, so she just didn’t tell them at all. So no. They do not know about her loans.
3. No and no.
4. They’ve had some exchanges, but nothing in-depth. Like you’ve probably gathered, their relationship is still healing. But they do have a conversation next chapter. While he was taken aback but Sansa’s marriage and certainly hurt that it happened without him, Cat’s feelings kind of took center stage, and his focus was playing the peacemaker. The last thing he wants is to chase Sansa off again like he did all those years ago. Other than that, he was always a fan of Jon and he does like him as a person for his daughter. So he’s content in that matter.
5. Sansa has daddy issues, but in a similar respect that bee stung sansa has daddy issues. Ned (and Cat to and extent) has always viewed Sansa as his most put together child. So if he didn’t spend as much time hovering over her, it was because he didn’t think that she needed it. No, he doesn’t say it because he isn’t the type to express his feelings like that, but Sansa has always been his golden child (which is why she got away with so much, ie underage drinking and partying. Brynden bailed her out after Frostfangs btw) In comparison, the Poole girls are their daddy’s little princesses, with Jeyne being the littlest princess of them all. So no, Jayde does not have daddy issues. They all have a good relationship with their father. And mother. Jayde is just unhinged.
6. MMMMMMMM. I don’t know. I do adore them as a pairing, particularly in the pre canon of this universe, but I have already gotten people in the comments beating me with a stick, saying that Jon is second choice and Ned was her one true love. I don’t think I’m gonna volunteer to give them anymore of my writing to misconstrue 😭 I love that you love them though! Thank you!
7. Sansa might over think and fall into anxious patterns from time to time, but one thing she is very secure about is her looks. She knows she’s pretty. She’s been told this her entire life. This is a fact. Dany and Val were also very beautiful. But after Jon made it clear how him and Dany ended, she doesn’t really view her as competition. Especially now that she knows that Dany viewed her as competition and since she’s the one that ended up married, she won! So no, she isn’t insecure in that regard. Val was different. If you couldn’t tell, Sansa was half obsessed with Val herself 😭 And despite the fact that she’s blonde, her and Val are of similar build. Also she was so cool, she wanted to be her! So being attracted to her isn’t something that she really holds against him, nor can she considering the fact that they weren’t serious, and he didn’t even seem to care after they broke up. So yes, his ex girlfriends were blondes but I feel like the security in regards to his past comes from the simple fact that Jon has made it very clear he is all about her from the very beginning. He is a one woman muffin. It doesn’t matter what his “type” was before! She’s his type now! He gave her head in a TENT like he is so obviously obsessed with her she isn’t worried about that. I think she’s more worried about it not lasting/changing in the future. Thanks for reading!

Thoughts on The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday Part 1
I finally got around to watching this for the first time on Christmas Day, and since then have rewatched it twice. It’s long overdue, but after my third viewing, here are my extensive thoughts on my favorite criminal gang’s newest misadventure:
(Also, stick around til the end where I go through my predictions for the special and see how many things I got right.)
Wait…hold the phone… “A Netflix SERIES”? Holy crap, did they just confirm a “Bad Guys Animated Series” for Netflix?! 🤩🤩🤩
Ok, I know this is just the opening credits and I shouldn’t take it too seriously, but how is Webs able to support the other guys’ weights without collapsing?
Also, she’s a tarantula. She shouldn’t be able to create string (Normally this wouldn’t bother me, except she explicitly states tarantulas can’t make webs in a deleted scene for the movie. Kinda makes her nickname ironic, huh?)
OMG GUYS, I think this is going to become its own series! They even put the title and credits at the bottom of the first scene as if it’s just a regular episode!
Ok, let’s go ahead and get the obvious out of the way: the animation is godawful. I understand they’re on a budget, but c’mon, was it that hard to give us some inbetweens here and there? And don’t get me started on those uncanny facial expressions. (I’ll give more specific examples on how terrible this thing is animated later on.)
The special starts with Wolf directly telling the audience that the story takes place before the Bad Guys turned good…like, he actually looks at the camera and tells us this while he’s driving in the first scene…I know one of Wolf’s abilities is breaking the fourth wall, but as far as I can tell, he can’t predict the future. Why didn’t they just do a voiceover?
Speaking of voices, I’m probably the only one who doesn’t have a problem with the new voice actors (the only one I don’t like is Tarantula’s. IDK, she just sounds off to me. Also, my reaction when I learned Snake’s voice actor played Mickey Mouse: 🤯)
They really should’ve put Shark in the seat behind Wolf instead of Piranha. The little dude is barely visible. XD
Speaking of which, what happened to their car? It looks nothing like the one they use in the movie. Do they have multiple cars or something? I mean, I guess that shouldn’t surprise me because of everything else they “own.”
And while we’re on the topic of “things looking different,” why is Wolf the only one who didn’t receive a new holiday getup?
The Bad Guys (or Webs specifically) now use the term “normies” to describe the citizens of L.A. Ok then…
Of course Piranha likes stinky cheeses 😂. My question is, why’d he try to lie about it? And more importantly, why did he not fart when he did? (They actually bring this up in the special’s novelization.)
It’s a shame we don’t get to see Diane or the chief, but at least my girl Tiffany is back 😁! Now please don’t ever have her do that ridiculous arm-waving motion again. (BTW, Lyoko Comic Dubs, if you’re reading this and need me to do more lines, hit me up 😉).
“IT’S THE BAD GUYS!!!” Um…yeah, lady. They’ve been driving around the city this whole time and weren’t trying to hide it. How are you the first one to notice them?
This special marks the first time movie-verse Snake addresses Wolf as “Wolfie.” It probably shouldn’t be a big deal to me since Webs calls him that all the time, buuuuuuut…🥰🥰🥰🥰
“That’s very not good.” Who said that? It couldn’t have been Wolf ‘cause his lips weren’t moving! 😂
Speaking of animation errors, Snake manages to teleport from the passenger seat to the back in just one shot.
“This isn’t that famous balloon everybody’s freakishly emotionally attached to, is it?” “No, no, no. This is a different giant Santa-shaped balloon.” …I adore this cynical reptile so much. 🥰
And now the Santa balloon is on fire…sure, why not?
Wow, Santa burning up is so tragic, we can even hear Lola Loud crying all the way from Michigan!
And now we get the special’s official title screen. So…what was the point of dropping its name in the beginning then?
What do you know? It turns out that wasn’t Lola Loud crying, but the same woman who warned the citizens about the Bad Guys…even though she never sounded like that before. Gal does great impressions, I gotta say!
“He was like a father to me.” What is it with “The Bad Guys” and daddy issues? XD
They canceled Christmas…because of a balloon…can’t they just…I don’t know, buy another one?
Furthermore, why do the Bad Guys feel the need to cancel their heist because of some guards? They seemed perfectly capable of bypassing security at the Golden Dolphin award ceremony. Was it against their moral standards at this point? Did they just randomly decide one day: “Eh, you know what? We’re criminals, we can do whatever we want to guards. Screw our morality.”
Piranha goes from fake sleeping on a pillow…to Shark’s arm. Animation error aside, that’s actually kind of adorable.
Good lord, that “jumping animation.” 😩 What is this, the Looney Tunes?
It’s sad that the Bad Guys’ attempt at recreating the Santa balloon is more pleasant to look at than some of the close-up shots in this special (We’ll get to those soon, trust me.)
They made a Die Hard reference…in a children’s cartoon…That. Is. Awesome! 🤩
“That guy’s a legend! He parties with ghosts and wears a dress to bed!” Methinks Piranha may be suppressing some hidden desires. 😆
In all seriousness, I would love to see the Bad Guys’ rendition of “A Christmas Carol.” But, sorry Shark ol’ buddy; as great of an actor you are, no one fits the role of Scrooge better than a certain grouchy serpent. 😊
“That sounds a lot like Robin Hood, who is notoriously good.” Spoken like a true Sir Hiss, Snakey my boy 👍. (You know what, screw the last point. I wanna see the “Bad Guys” version of Robin Hood now.)
“He ruined tights for me.” Oh, is that the reason Webs doesn’t wear pants? 😆
Maybe I’m just out of touch with reality, but why does the stereo have two slots for MP3s?
The Bad Guys explicitly state they find most Christmas things to be awful…yet Webs has a holiday playlist? 🤔
“Piranha will help Webs get to the antenna.” Why? Can’t she crawl her way up? Why does Piranha need to be there? Did they just need to give him something to do? Because if that’s the case, can’t he help Wolf and Snake deliver presents? Unless…Wolf wants some one-on-one time with his “best bud.” 🥰🥰🤫🤫
“Buddy, I don’t work with sidekicks.” Scrooge? A sidekick? This lady’s obviously never read the book. Or watched DuckTales.
Did anyone else see Snake’s face before he delivered the first present? It’s almost as if he was saying: “Only for you, Wolfie. Only for you.” 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
“What? You’ve never seen an ab before?” Why Snake, are you showing off for Wolf right now? 😉
It’s honestly adorable that these two know each other so well, they automatically guess when the other is hiding something.
Wait a minute…I’m confused. Normally, Shark’s paper-thin disguises always work no matter how minimal they are. But the second he loses just one piece of the disguise, it doesn’t work anymore? What? (In case you’re wondering, his hat falls off and even though he still has the mutton chops, he’s nearly recognized. Then later on, all he has on is a mustache and that’s enough to fool the shaved ice vendor. Again, what? 🤨)
Yes, Shark. Go ahead and keep talking into your earpiece OUT LOUD while the radio lady is beating you up. That won’t make her suspicious at all. *sigh*
I love Webs’ face after Piranha’s song.
Shark and Piranha refer to each other as “fin bros.” Not gonna lie, that’s really cute 😊.
Good thinking, Wolf. Making it snow when 3/5 of your team is cold-blooded. I can’t see this ending badly at all. 🙄
Ok, as stupid as it is, I love the interaction between Shark and the shaved ice vendor. It’s probably the funniest part of the whole thing.
Of course Wolf doesn’t listen to Webs and turns the machine up to 11 (oops, I mean 10). Again, does he not realize how fatal this could be for the others?

Dream support and appreciation
not that this post will reach anyone at all, let alone someone willing to read a dream defense essay, but in light of all the dream negativity lately, i just want to clearly express why i support and love his content and also respect him so much as an actual human being. LONG thread btw, sorry 😵‍💫
1. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY! dealing with controversies
nobody’s born woke, obviously. dream’s open about the fact that he was a middle class white boy who grew up in florida; of course he was going to be raised somewhat conservatively and not very exposed to diverse perspectives. and of course through his years of creating content—since when he was a child—he has done and said plenty of things i don’t agree with or even just think he could’ve handled a little bit better. but that’s not the deal breaker for me.
dream never shies away from apologizing and taking full accountability for his actions, even the ones from years and years in the past. and sure, sometimes you can tell it’s difficult for him to own up, but that’s human, and i honestly can’t fault him at all for it. but what really sealed the deal for me was that hasan abi stream—hasan, who’s actually so woke lol, and they’d had tension on twitter until dream decided to come on stream and talk it all out. in that ONE stream, you could actually see dream actively growing and expanding his perspective and shape his views and opinions?? i don’t think he gets enough credit for this at all.
when i outgrow my old and often misguided beliefs, it is an active and constant battle. i have to convince myself and consciously choose to let my old beliefs go, and with that, a lot of my pride and stubbornness, and mould and shape and mould and shape until i eventually am able to accept that i’ve grown for the better. it is a long, difficult, sometimes painful and humiliating process. i need time; to unlearn, to let go, to swallow my pride and deal with the shame of having been wrong, to introspect and then talk it through and hear from people whose opinions i trust, and then finally realize my new opinions. dream was doing this in a huge platform, with the pressure of his status and in front of a live audience that was ready to pick him apart in ONE stream. he was listening to and learning from hasan. it was difficult, but it was happening, and you can actually see the moments he lets his defensiveness go (which i also can’t fault him for considering his internet reception) and really grow into his thoughts more. i don’t think i could do that now—nevermind if i was a white boy from florida.
and you can see how much dream continues to progress and grow and change so quickly! i can’t even compare him to who he was last year or the year before, because that’s how fast he’s growing and learning. that’s the moment i gained so much respect for him. and i see this so often in a lot of his online presence. sure, he’s not perfect, and i have no doubt there’ll be more moments i don’t entirely agree with him, but how can i hold that against him when i can’t imagine anything that could be as deserving of respect as this is? when it’s undeniable that he is purposefully taking advantage of his platform to educate and better himself?
2. not rlly smthn he specifically did, ig, but his views on sexuality made me lose it
i won’t go too much into it, but his views on sexuality and also just, relationships with close friends. i’m just so grateful to him. i’m a lesbian, but i do have some turbulence with my sexuality, identity, how others perceive me or their idea on how sexuality should work. but the way dream approaches his and also clearly explains his views when he’s comfortable really helped shape and develop my own views on mine. when he said it’s hard for him to identify with even one label a little bit more than another, because he feels it’s so much more complex than that and he doesn’t know how to compress it to just one word—something slipped out of place in me.
i won’t talk about all the nuances of my current perceptions on sexuality, mine or as a whole, but i respect him so much for this, and it was absolutely heartbreaking when every attempt dream’s made at seriously addressing his sexuality has been met with the assumption of insincerity. i honestly see a lot of similarities in our outlooks and situations in all of this, and i’m just so grateful and appreciative of him for helping me get a stronger footing of who i am.
3. he’s just a silly, goofy little guy
he’s just so fun and entertaining to watch. i love him, i love his friends, i love watching them dick around with each other. i love how close they are. and i’m so excited to see more of it now in the new era. his videos are so funny and i always look forward to them. simple as that.
4. i have a dumb little cat who reminds me a lot of patches. i have a parasocial relationship with patches specifically. my cat, too, drools on me when she’s sleepy and is a little challenged in the braincells apartment. patches my shining star
anyway that’s it i just wanted to get this out there. i have a lot on my mind and it’s been really hard to see a creator i care about get dragged so much both online and by people i know. i just need to defend my boy a little here—especially since i’ve long thought he’s been held to a ridiculous standard and pedestal and is kinda undeservingly the easy punch for so many online communities. so: i love u dream, i’m so proud of u for face revealing, i’m so proud of you for a lot more than just face revealing, and i’m so excited to see what comes next. (also my best friend and i guessed pre-reveal u’d kinda look like sapnap but just in a different font and i’m so sorry. i’m so sorry but i think we kinda nailed that one. it’s like papyrus to garamond istg. but that’s just confirmation that now there’s three pretty best friends <3)

going to dump my thoughts on sunu sumu muriku no koibito here because the sooner i do the sooner i can move on from this. content warning for transphobia and sexual assault.
this manga feels like a story written by a cishet dude so far up his ass he thinks he knows the first thing about trans women and other queer identities even though he doesn’t know shit and won’t bother to go out of his way to do any research or actually talk to any queer people. this was already my impression of him after wonder egg priority so it’s amazing how little he changed within a decade. i really hate that not once are we allowed to sit in the trans girl’s interiority or view the narrative from her perspective. we're always seeing events through the lens of the male protagonist who's her childhood friend. and to make matters even worse, NOT once is she ever allowed agency over her life in any way, shape or form. she's NEVER allowed to make any meaningful decisions about her life. the entire series is just about her childhood friends constantly making life decisions for her, supposedly to make her happy, and she just sits in the corner like an emotional toy for them to either admire or lust after. even when she travels to thailand for her bottom surgery it's because everyone collected money for her and pushed her to do it. there's literally not a single moment where she's allowed to be proactive and do something because she wants to do it.
and then the worst part comes after she goes through with her bottom surgery. she basically becomes hysterical and has these panic attacks where she acts as though she's possessed because, uhhh, fuck if i know. they didn't even bother to explain anything about it other than some bullshit about an s gene that makes people feel anxious and guilty after “committing crimes” (the implications here are pretty yikes as you can probably tell) and there’s also something about how she needs a “transplant of the heart”. this is all resolved by her opening up to the male protagonist about how she's being "punished" by god because she rejected the body he gave her by transitioning (i hate this btw), and in order to help her he makes her refer to herself with "watashi" instead of "boku", then it’s implied he fucks her newly constructed vagina until he tears open the stitches, which causes her to bleed and almost die. which is. literally what. i’m not sure what my takeaway from this is even supposed to be. but now he needs to go on a trip to find his “heart” again because he gave her his or something. what the fuck is this even saying. that he cured her trauma by raping her in her hospital bed and making her nearly bleed out to death???? i say rape because the consent is REALLY dubious in this moment and it makes me feel very uncomfortable... even if it were supposed to be consensual (which i doubt) this isn’t great. is the point that everything is okay because she was allowed to have sex with a man?????? there’s a subplot before about how she’s jealous of the male protagonist’s girlfriends because they don’t need to make effort to be girls and be liked by him so it reads as though they’re saying she became content as a girl after letting a man fuck her????? i’m VERY confused. i also hate everything about this. if you can’t tell. i hope you can though.
there's also another character and they’re a "girl" who identifies as bisexual but it feels like the manga is conflating that with transness because they say since this person is willing to fuck any man or woman who's pretty then that means they have the body of a woman but the heart of a man and it feels like they’re meant to foil the trans girl. their conclusion is getting infected with HIV/AIDs btw so uh. that’s very fun. there’s also a bit where the male protagonist compares a trans woman wearing the girls’ school uniform to journalists beheaded in iraq or something while trying to convince everyone else to let her do it. idk what the fuck i just put myself through but i know i made myself feel very horrible lmao.
never let this man cook with lgbt identities or women or anything ever again. also i’m going to actually kill anyone who tells me to give wonder egg priority the benefit of doubt. it was at the cost of making myself more mentally ill but at least i have knowledge now.

Please tell me about your au, I saw you said you had a bit about Chuuya written? I'm instantly 👀, can't wait to read the whole thing if you ever post it. I also need a bit of a distraction tbh, got my T shot today so now my ass hurts, you know how it is
oh damn stay strong bestie!!!!! D: i feel your pain 🤝
as for the au!!!!!! i'm gonna copy paste the chuuya bit and everything around him (which oh god now that i'm on browser view i can see it covers nearly a whole google docs page) but like, beforehand lemme give you a tldr:
angels. demons. all real baby. no abilities tho. the mafia are demons, the hunting dogs are angels, and the agency is made of (mostly) humans who protect humanity when they might get in the crossfire between these factions (there are more angels and demons out there but like. these are their anchors to the human world, in a sense)
some background abt the mafia bc it's necessary (also copy pasted directly hehe sorry): the mafia is basically hell. not as in it sucks, but, it’s a safe haven for demons and fallen angels and the likes (important to note, it employs - mostly in the lower ranks or in utility positions - humans as well)
i think that's all you need to know to understand the chuuya stuff hm. i will def post the whole thing tho when i'm finished! anyway here's darkness my sorrow:
chuuya is a fallen angel. he was a young angel taken for experimentation, humans studying the species to learn more about them, with one single researcher wondering what’ll happen if you combine an angel with a demon somehow - thus, creating arahabaki, inside chuuya, essentially a demonic soul he has to keep at bay. however, one day in the lab, while chuuya was barely aware of what’s happening, arahabaki unleashed itself and killed all the humans around, causing chuuya to officially lose his (physical) wings.
being a fallen angel does not necessarily mean he’s a demon - his holy, radiant powers simply turned darker, and his angelic values are gone, essentially he became a human with the powers of a dark angel, and these powers help him keep arahabaki down.
chuuya doesn’t remember his past - doesn’t remember being an angel, let alone being experimented on. he knows arahabaki is inside him, and he remembers his own name, and that he’s been alive for A While, but nothing from that time. the events of 15 go p much the same, i wanna say (rimbaud is a demon and the sheep are human btw), so he ends up joining the mafia.
will verlaine come in at some point? maybe. i wanna say he will be an angel that through experimentation was turned into a demon, and he thinks chuuya is the same.
the flags were humans, also low ranking in the mafia, and given chuuya's odd nature of a being, mori put him in their care "thinking" he's a weird human anyway (but lbr he knows better). this makes chuuya feel more defined in his humanity and having a sense of belonging to humanity as a whole - he doesn't remember being an angel (tho through plot stuff he does learn about it. blame verlaine), and he no longer is one anyway. he's certainly not a demon, even if he now works for them. he knows he's not Normal, can feel arahabaki living under his skin, but he wants to be human, fascinated with the life you can have as one, and so he chooses to live as one.
hehe this is my translation of stormbringer into this au, mostly. or like. the first half of it bc oh god oh fuck i still haven't finished reading it. btw as a bonus here's what i have abt adam for now:
idk where adam comes into play but legally he has to be there bc i love him. maybe he's an artificial angel, somehow. i do so love the combination of divine and machine 👀 (<- smt metatron stan)
riveting i know i know. if you've got ideas for him feel free to send them my way!!!! (and this is @ all my followers not just anon >:3)

an ask from the larrie anon
[in reference to this ask and response]
Hi,
Thank you for answering my questions in a serious way. I would like to continue this dialogue for a bit, but I will stay on anon… feels more safe to me.
Due to the length of your ask, I’ve decided to publish it here in pieces to respond more coherently. There’s also a bit at the end that you asked me not to mention so I have edited that bit of your post and noted where the edit is.
A little background info, so you can understand who you’re talking to. I’m a 40 year old woman from the Netherlands. I’m quite fluent in English, but there might be some mistakes here and there, so don’t see those as a lack of intelligence. I’m a mom [edited] and I work in marketing. I have a bachelor’s degree in English literature with minors in sociology, psychology and journalism; I consider myself as intelligent, emphatic, and openminded, but I understand this might mean nothing to you as anyone could say that about themselves.
Some more background info about myself, so you can better understand where I come from: I’m a mid-30s, single, bisexual woman. My college degree is in political science and classical studies – Latin was my concentration. I’m currently enrolled in a graduate program in political psychology. My interest is in the conspiracy mindset and its role in American politics. I have read a couple of studies that investigated the conspiracy mindset overseas, including in Germany. From this limited dataset, it doesn’t appear that the conspiracy mindset in America differs greatly from those in other countries, but until there’s more robust investigation we can’t say that conclusively. Oh also, in my day job I teach emergent bilingual students. My students range from very little English to near-native speakers.
I became a Larrie during one of the first lockdowns in my country (no conspiracist ideas about the pandemic btw😉 ) a lot of free time drove me to TikTok (which I’ve left since then)
During lockdown for me, I started watching a few different series on streaming platforms and turned to an old hobby, crocheting. Since March 2020 I’ve made like 10 blankets. Now I’ve moved onto quilting! Also now that highly effective N95s are widely available and I have the means to purchase them, I am active in local politics.
and I came across videos of Harry. I thought him funny. Knowing TikToks algorithm, I came across more and more Harry videos, which led to 1d, which led to Larry. And that’s basically how it started. I searched through all kinds of info, from larries and anti’s. I think it’s important to mention that ‘I don’t want to believe this is true.’ Although a lot of Larries describe this as the biggest love story on earth, to me it is a story of hardship and oppression of teenage boys.
I understand that TikTok can be a disorienting experience due to the absence of a clock and that videos placed in front of you have no timestamp, so I’m going to take a moment to remind you that Louis will be 31 years old in December, and Harry will be 29 in February. They are not teenage boys. They’re millennials, just like you and I.
I’d much rather they didn’t have to go through all that (although I do believe Harry and Louis love each other very much). From what I’ve gathered, I just believe that sadly they did have to endure all that.
Your writing later on directly contradicts this statement, that you’d rather they didn’t have to go through all of what you imagine. In fact, there is overwhelming evidence that they did not go through what larries claim they did and do suffer. Larries so easily dismiss all of this because it doesn’t make them feel good like the imagined oppression does. By viewing these men as needing your help, it gives you a purpose. During the initial lockdowns, so many people throughout the world turned to the comforting thought of a conspiracy theory which had all the answers. You aren’t alone in this phenomenon and it is a well-documented one.
Now, I am not one of those “ooh, blue and green” larries. To me it’s about a combination of these things:
1. Do I believe the music industry is capable of doing this? Yes, absolutely. While the article added by your friend shows it has been possible for nsync to win against their label, that does not suffice for me to believe 1d would also be able to do so. For one, Nsync’s case was ten years before 1d even existed. Plenty of time for labels to adjust their contracts to prevent this from happening again. Secondly, there is so much evidence from ex-Xfactor contestants pointing to their contracts being unfair, harsh and just impossible to get out of (Rebecca Ferguson, just stated that contracts go on for 20 years for instance. Rebecca Fergusson, Cher Loyd, Jedward and others have all spoken up about the unfairness… are those people all to be ignored? Liam has talked about their treatment, Harry himself has recently talked about impropriety clauses and how it affected him. So yes, I believe something was very wrong during 1d and I think their label and management is to blame.
Louis and Harry have been out of One Direction for longer than the band existed, at this point. Like I mentioned previously, both of them have hired their own management teams. Both of them are in charge of their careers. Both of them are white multimillionaires. When Harry mentioned that clause, please don’t forget the context:
Styles said he often spent interviews terrified about saying the wrong thing until he stopped to question what abhorrent belief or bizarre opinion he was scared he'd accidentally reveal and realized he couldn't think of anything. He thought about how, when good things happened—say, a No. 1 album—he wouldn't feel happy, just relieved. And he thought about the cleanliness clauses in the contracts he used to sign, which would dictate that they would be null and void if he did anything supposedly unsavory, and about how terrified that used to make him. And about when he signed his solo contract and learned that the ability to make music would not be affected by personal transgressions, he burst into tears, a reaction he still seemed shocked by, retelling it to me now, years later. "I felt free," he explained. https://www.bhg.com/better-homes-and-garden-magazine/harry-styles/
The music industry is fucked! That’s not in dispute. But is it so fucked that Harry Styles at the age of 28 is still being treated the same as he was at age 16? By the same people? He’s not bound by the same contract, even. Regardless of what Rebecca Ferguson has said about her dealings with X-Factor, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are not in her shoes. Rebecca deserves people to care about her situation and want to help her because she has gone through it, not because they believe Harry and Louis are in the same situation today. They are demonstrably not.
2. Do I think Harry and Louis are queer? Well, I’m a Larrie… so obviously I think they are. I don’t know whether they are gay, bisexual or anything else on the queer spectrum, but that also doesn’t matter imo. Even if you take Larry out of the equation, I would still believe they are queer. For Harry, what convinced me are his slip-ups. During 1d interviews he would often answer with ‘they, a person who’ when asked about romantic interests, but he would sometimes slip up with ‘he’. Could that be deliberate? Sure, it just didn’t look deliberate to me and I trust my own judgement in that. For Louis, I see no real chemistry between him and the women he was with. I also see him sing a song like “Only the Brave” and it only makes sense to me if he were queer. The way he encourages fans bringing rainbow flags. Could he just be an ally or queerbaiting? I think he would be hugely overshooting the cause if that were the case. Every show he’s looking at a huge portion of his fandom not wondering if he’s gay, but actually believing he’s gay. I believe he is a kind man and would not play with fandom’s feelings that much, nor would he allow the feelings of his loved ones be hurt over and over again (and there would be things he could do to make me think otherwise).
What you didn’t address from my initial response was that if what you believe were to be true, your behavior as a larrie is harmful to Harry and Louis. Your open speculation about their sexualities is harmful. Would you do this to a friend? I had a student about five years ago who was openly gay in my classroom. He came to class one day heated. I asked him what was wrong and he said, “ugh, freshman.” He then related how he’d been walking down the hallway and heard these freshmen girls behind him wondering out loud if he was gay, clearly not intending him to hear, but he did. “I turned around and said, ‘Yes! But you could just ask me, not whisper behind my back!’” That is just what you do when you speculate about people’s sexualities, especially when they have told you in no uncertain terms that they don’t appreciate that speculation. You say you aren’t a “blue green” larrie, but you do prioritize the “signals” that larries claim these men send over the words they actually say. You claim to be able to tell “chemistry” by viewing photos of two people, but that is absurd. To condemn a relationship as false because you see only what you want to see in a limited selection of photographs (larries do not, as a rule, view all photos in a paparazzi series) is, frankly, absurd. As I mentioned before, Louis has said he’s straight. He has spoken often about his love for his girlfriend, and his love for his son. Until and unless he says something else, it is harmful to deny his words. Not because Louis is going to see your blog, but because you have other people viewing your blog and seeing how you ignore what he says, so why would you listen to them? As a teacher, it’s important for me to create a classroom space where students like the one I mentioned can feel safe coming out to me. Part of that is accepting whatever it is that they tell me about themselves. Their perception of their sexuality or gender identity can change drastically over the time period I know them, and if a student comes out to me as gay, it’s possible in two years they come out to me as trans. Ignoring their words is simply not acceptable. When you do that as a so-called fan, you are merely telling your followers that people’s words and truths don’t matter as much as how you feel about the matter.
3. Do I think Larry have been/are together? Yes. I read your comment about being a teacher and having seen a lot of boys act this way. I have three younger brothers, have always had more guy-friends than girl-friends and, although I recognize there can be a certain playfulness/closeness between especially teens, I have never seen boys caress each other as tenderly as Louis and Harry have been seen doing in moments they didn’t think others would see. It’s the closeness of lovers to me, not of best friends. But,.. up to how you interpret things I guess. I tend to lean towards them being together since the beginning, because I’ve seen no evidence of things having changed.. but, I always try to leave room for the universe being a dick, so I’d say I’m about 90 percent sure they still are together now.
You haven’t seen boys caress each other like you think you’ve seen Harry and Louis do so? Cool. I have! So, what’s the truth?? Regardless, consider how much of the “evidence” that you’ve seen is in gifs, which are always divorced of context and in many cases, are slowed down and/or reversed. Plenty of people who were larries and who have decided that had erred recount feeling duped when they realized just how much of the evidence they’d been shown had been manipulated.
Furthermore, Louis has a long-time girlfriend and a six-year-old son and Harry has a long-term girlfriend and has spoken about how happy he is. That is evidence that what you believe to be true is actually not. You cannot just dismiss out of hand everything that these men say because it doesn’t fit with the conclusion you began with.
Feel free to ask me stuff by the way, happy to have my believes tested.
I am aware of confirmation bias and that is one of the reasons of me contacting you. To really discover the truth you have to consider the opposite as well. I do wonder however if you are aware of your own confirmation bias. You stated that you were already interested in conspiracy theories before entering fandom and the article that lured you in had the exact term ‘conspiracy’ to trigger you in it’s title. Is it possible you too only see things confirming your believes? Have you actually gone through all the information Larries provide? Have you tried seeing the other side as I am now?
I have, actually, gone through every bit of so-called evidence that larries have provided. Every scrap of it has been debunked. My first 20 days in fandom I had a larrie trying to recruit me. She was unsuccessful.
What you’ve named a confirmation bias in my regard is actually not that at all – it’s a bias toward reality, and what can be proven. You and other larries claim that somehow, Harry and Louis are contracted to do these things against their will, but have no evidence of that, cannot name who else is party to these contracts, and also cannot explain how, if Harry and Louis don’t want to be in this situation, they can’t just … breach the contract and wait to be sued by … whoever. It’s at this point in the conversation that the larrie without fail said I’m ignorant, homophobic, et cetera.
You say closeting doesn’t happen the way we think, with paid beards. How do you know though? It’s possible there are many other examples we just don’t know about. What specifically lead me to believe it is possible, is Louis Theroux’s doc “When Louis Theroux met… Max Clifford”. Specifically the part where Louis asks Max what he would do if someone were gay. The answer being that he would create a long relationship. Create… does not seem like he would ask a friend of the gay person to act as a beard to me. Max Clifford being closely connected to Simon Cowell and having worked with 1d in the beginning cements this for me. I absolutely think they would employ someone to beard. I don’t think Holivia is that way though. Harry and Olivia both gain from this arrangement in other ways.
How do I know? How do you know there are bearding contracts? What I do know is that every example that larries bring up of bearding does not coincide with their beliefs about how Harry and Louis are allegedly closeted. Larrie evidence for their existence is simply because you want it to exist because it explains why both of these men have women in their lives, look happy, and speak about them. Whatever you think is real doesn’t matter. You say it is happening with no evidence whatsoever except for your feelings. You have the burden of proof here, and you haven’t proven anything.
One last thing I want to address is your evidence of how closeted people in bands behaved. How they were mostly scared to come out and never told anyone even. I understand your point. I also understand how unfair it has been to Lance Bass. I personally never bring up Lance Bass, I try to look at situations as a part of a whole, but also separate from everything else. I think though that Harry and Louis’s situation differs from those others because there were two of them in the same band. Had it only been one of them, maybe they would’ve also stayed silent., but being a pair changes the dynamic. They were stronger as a pair, they were together so much and if the person you love is right in front of you.. you don’t just stay silent.
Cool. Louis had a girlfriend during X-Factor, Hannah, and then after Hannah began dating Eleanor. Louis is a serial monogamist. What you’re writing about is fan fiction. And I’ve got nothing against fic! I love fic. However, don’t conflate fictional stories on the internet with reality.
I don’t think I fit the mould of a conspiracy theorist, but which ct does? The way I see myself considering this situation is: I saw something wrong in 1d/Larry. I am very concerned for those men. I admire them a lot. Would it break my heart if it were not real, no. Do I think it is real, yes.
What you saw were TikTok videos about a band that broke up in December 2015 created by conspiracy theorists. When the pandemic began, I mentioned to @back-to-louis that we were going to see a surge in conspiracy theorists of all kinds due to the mass trauma being felt across the world. There was a surge of larries just like there was a surge of anti-vaxxers and QAnon believers. No one is naturally immune from falling down the rabbit hole, but some people are more susceptible to it than others. I was already extremely online prior to March 2020 and am able to suss out good sources from bad. I also had healthy hobbies to fill the extra time I found on my hands. Though I live alone, because so many of my friends were actually internet friends, I wasn’t missing out on in-person social activities like others were. And outside of these considerations, through being a teacher and informal research on the subject, I had already inoculated myself against conspiratorial thinking. I can recognize the hallmarks of a CT easily and I don’t fool myself into thinking that any of them are harmless.
Not sure if I covered everything, but I am out of time right now. Looking forward to having you and your friends dissect me 😉…
You haven’t covered everything. You completely ignored the antisemitism present in your conspiratorial beliefs and have nothing to say about who could possibly be forcing all of this oppression on these white multimillionaires.

this is a blue lock post about kaiser, chris, ideals, and overcoming mental failings
kaiser's morning routine (in front of a mirror, tell yourself that nothing is 'impossible' for you, smile) is interesting and also lethal if you're a kaiser fan, but the neat thing is that blue lock (main series) tells you how this should be read. chris, in ch.175, gives this speech:
“it’s crucial to clearly articulate your ideals. that’s how i’ve drawn closer to number 1. no human, no matter how talented, can remain positive all of the time. anyone can feel weak or frightened, or have moments when they’re about to lose confidence. if that happens i always ask, “what would the ideal chris prince say?” […] by doing so, i don’t forgive a self that doesn’t match my ‘ideal’. […] chase your ‘ideal’. fight reality— if you want to be world’s no. 1, create a body that can make your ‘ideal’ into reality!” [the “create a body” part doesn’t matter here because it’s manshine-specific]
like................ blue lock just tells us what’s up with kaiser it literally spells it out for us. kaiser introduces himself by saying, “i am ‘kaiser’, an existence that presents the ‘impossible’; his morning routine is to tell himself, “nothing is ‘impossible’ for you.” this is the identity of kaiser’s ideal. he may have negative thoughts or lose confidence (if he never doubted himself, he wouldn’t need this routine), and he’s implied elsewhere (namely, through his understanding of the human heart) to have felt emotions like jealousy, hopelessness, and etc., but by creating an ‘ideal self’ (an existence for whom nothing is 'impossible; alternatively, an existence that "presents 'impossibility'") and working to make his ideal into reality, he's able to care for his mental well-being. kaiser’s ideal of having no ‘impossibility’ may be a result of his potential weaknesses, but it is also what helps him overcome them to make him strong.
this accounts for kaiser’s early character, his performative-ness: he was playing an ideal he wants to achieve. it accounts for his later anger, exposed after manshine: one of his ideals was torn down. in my view, kaiser’s two ideal selves aren’t compatible. since i’m writing this while ubers match is still ongoing, i think that “the existence that presents ‘impossibility’” is more or less in shambles (the existence was intrinsically tied to the "kaiser system", which kaiser symbolically threw away), so all he’s left with is the “existence for whom ‘impossibility’ does not exist”, which, in my view, is his original ideal that will take him much, much further. “i don’t forgive myself for scoring such a goal (because it doesn’t match my ideal)—>[does the pre-game ritual, the reset of his self] to me the boy is on the right track
btw that chris-kaiser interaction in manshine match is quietly meaningful— two ideals fought, and kaiser lost. also the fact that kaiser took major Ls during v.england is significant because the theme of team manshine was to 'create your ideal self', and it was in the game against this team that kaiser's ideal of "an existence that presents 'impossibility'" was stripped away. the naked emperor, and all that
tl;dr kaiser’s morning routine doesn’t exist in isolation; chris’ speech about ideals in ch.175 provides the blueprint for how to understand kaiser. also kaiser’s dick is probably huge

(I am not the same anon as the other btw) I was just saw your asks and got curious to ask the degree you believe mike understood will confessing in the van. because there’s accounts as to what might’ve happened given mike lied in his monologue (he did). one being how he WAS genuinely touched at will’s idea about being valued and needed that way, but trying to channel that to el in the pineapple pizza sequence proves it still doesn’t make him capable of saying he loves her or meaning it. believing ‘el’ views him (in that beautiful way will does) hasn’t changed how he knows in truth HE doesn’t love EL. yet he’s then later forced to lie in a life-or-death. or second idea people float, which mike FULLY clocks will’s talking about himself, which gave him hope for reciprocation, was readying to break up with el, and then will’s ‘you’re the heart’ convinced mike he must have misinterpreted after all? so he lies under added pain of his heartbreak. which is closer to how you personally read, or if neither, your own version?
okay so the very first time i watched the scene, while watching it i was like oh he got it. he understood that will was talking about himself. especially because "if she was mean to you or it seemed like she was pushing you away" doesn't even apply to el, which is something mike would...know. then by the end of the scene i was like oh so he...didn't get it? that's it? and kept thinking that way for many days. slash weeks i can't remember
i remember seeing people talk about how they thought he knew will was talking about himself in the days/weeks following volume 2 and i was like Yes that's what i thought too at first! (essentially what i just said) but it feel like it was like three people back then (it's funny because now it's the other way around or it feels like it is anyway) ? and idk. i wasn't sure but i was leaning towards him not getting it because well. it's a lot of mental gymnastics so i was like i forgive him for not getting it and for not getting out of the conversation thinking oh duh will is in love with me.
over time though idk i kinda changed my mind (even though that was just me getting back to my very first read) and i got out of my hmm i feel like he knew something was off era and entered my he knew something was off because he knows el doesn't know shit about dnd and wouldn't commission a painting that literally doesn't feature her and he knows will was painting for someone he likes AND he was just (according to the script the writers gave us) thinking about how el knows she doesn't need him anymore and about how them meeting wasn't fate and just about how them breaking up might not be the end of the world. i just...don't see him buying that he makes the girl who was just accusing him of seeing her like a monster three days before feel like she's not a mistake like will's and el's feelings don't match AT ALL i don't know how he could buy it
and i must say i do like the added layer of miscommunication and i like the speaking in code and him getting the code it's all very fun to me. if he didn't get it i won't cry like i will if it turns out he didn't knowingly lie in the monologue though it's not as important to me. but the two are kind of linked (even though he can buy that these were el's feelings and still know he doesn't love her like that. so not linked). so closer to the second interpretation definitely
