thor

he finds himself falling back into his drinking habits after a particularly hard day he spent around his father

he gets tired of being constantly belittled, and alcohol makes his mind quiet for awhile. it's why he finds so much comfort in it

you find him in the bar, where you expected him to be when he wasn't at home. you can tell whenever his day has gone poorly

his eyes are droopy.. sad, even though in his drunken state he can barely remember what was said to him that hurt him so badly

you'll have him leave, returning to your home with his arm wrapped around your shoulders. he's much bigger than you, and it takes some time to get back, but you're determined

he deserves better. you know that. you kick open the door with your foot and lay him down on the couch, taking a seat next to him on the floor

"what's wrong, dear?" would be the first words to leave your lips

thor nearly cries at the sound of your voice. so comforting and warm. he shrugs his shoulders, but you can read him like an open book

you'll tell him he doesn't have to talk about it— the drinking or whatever led up to it— and he'll take your hand in his massive one, kissing your knuckles

he's grateful you understand he doesn't want to speak about it right away, but when he does he pours his heart out to you. he feels used. he doesn't know how to get out of it

you're not in his position, so you can't give him any advice other than to follow his heart. though, you insist that you're always going to be by his side to support him through anything

he feels like he doesn't deserve you or your comfort, but he has it. his heart swells at your grin, and he smiles back. a real one— and it's beautiful

kratos

kratos often dreams of the past. he dreams of his daughter, his previous life in greece.. and mostly, he dreams of faye

you'd never once felt unloved because of his previous marriages. you knew that he cared deeply for you, and the fact that he dreamt about his loved ones was always something you never minded

though, sometimes he has nightmares. they always consist of things that actually happened in his life, and he wakes up in a cold sweat, hoping that he didn't wake you. he almost always does, but you don't care

as your relationship progresses, you begin to comfort him through those nights where his nightmares are particularly bad

he pictures the death of calliope.. though.. most of his nightmares consist of a future without you in it

he dreams of you dying. sometimes, in gruesome, brutal ways. others, in your sleep or from an illness. no matter what, he'll wake up in tears. he'll turn to you, his eyes focused on your form to see you breathing

he'll let out a sigh of relief when he sees you inhale, but he doesn't go back to sleep out of fear of experiencing it again

you'd ask him what keeps him up and at first he refuses to tell you. as time goes on, he opens up and admits that they're nightmares of you dying

ever since he told you that, you'd be there to comfort him whenever he needed it. sometimes he wouldn't want you to, and tell you to go back to sleep, saying that seeing you alive was all he needed to relax

on other nights, you'd sit by his side, your hand in his. your thumb would rub against the back of his hand.. and he'd just listen to your breathing for a few moments to calm down

he doesn't even need to hear your voice. your presence alone is comfort enough

you'll reassure him that you don't intend to go anywhere anytime soon, and that you'll be around for much longer

he knows anything can happen, and that you could be ripped away from him at any moment.. but he remains silent, and just nods

he tells you he loves you, and you say it back. you'll kiss his forehead, laying back down on your shared bed

your arms would be extended out to him... your hands gesturing for him to lay with you. after a sigh, he'll give in to your wishes, and rest his head on your chest

the beating of your heart lulls him back to sleep.. and the nightmares don't return with you protecting him <3

Being an enemy of Thor is a... precarious position to be in lmao

Even if it isn’t full blown “you owe me a blood payment” kind of enemy to him

I feel like the major turn point in how you both become Thor’s lover but also how your perceptions of one another change, is how you view the everyday things that he has to deal with and how it drives him to self destruction

You didn’t care that he was a God and wouldn’t have long term issues from drinking so much, you cared about the hurt it put him through and root of the problem

Because of that he began to see the many layers that make up your own life, your character, and how you deal (or don’t deal) with things

Basically you and him become positive influences for one another and confidants to each other’s issues

Expect a LOT of bickering between the two of you like even after the two of you become lovers, it’s still a main part of your relationship honestly

Though the kind of bickering changes after you and him become official

Beforehand it could be pretty backhanded and snippy, like you were just quipping back and forth cause there was some resemblance of bad blood between you and Thor

When you and Thor become official the bickering evolves into older married couple type bickering

Overall it’s pretty light hearted and in good fun

There isn’t a layer of venom behind each word anymore but instead softness and kindness

At times Thor will playfully scold you whenever you’re not careful or just plain naive lol

When you were enemies with him, his pet name for you was basically bone head

With the changes in tone comes changes in behavior as well

Like whenever Thor needs to jump from place to place with his godly might, he’ll give you a heads up, and cradle you carefully in his arms while he makes his leaps

Before he used to just grab you and fly through the air like the menace the is

Other things that have changed is that he will continuously invite you to have drinks with him and eat amongst the Einherjar

He hangs out with them from time to time and could use someone to keep him company

Will absolutely share his food and drink with you and if you wish, he’ll go to a more private place in order to spend quality time with you as well

When y’all were enemies, if you walked in to spend some time at the hall, he wouldn’t even so much as glance at you

And if he was drunk around you, he was a total ass, not just because he was white girl wasted but because he also really didn’t like you

Now, if he’s drunk around you, he’s still a bit mean, or mainly unresponsive

Though if the two of you are both drunk together, than that’s not a good thing for anybody lmao

Imagine being drunk with Thor and going up to the Asgardian wall where Heimdall is and just absolutely verbally destroying that man

If the two of you find yourselves within or going to a realm with a cold climate, he will put his heavy fur cloak on you to keep you warm

Won’t ask for it back once y’all leave the cold realm, you can keep it, he can always get another <3

If you asked him for his fur cloak while you two were still enemies, he’d just straight up ignore you or go “no.” </3

Another perk of being lovers with Thor is that you now have unlocked being able to snuggle with him

Yes he is as warm and fuzzy as he looks, a true bear in that sense of the word

Prefers to be the big spoon but will not grumble if you asked to be the big spoon

Gives the best back rubs for some reason ??? maybe it’s because his hands are the size of mallets and though they’re calloused, they just feel good!

Also Thor gives me bathing for hours mindlessly with his partner enjoyer type of vibe so expect that as well

Usually he doesn’t have the time to care about his appearance that much and doesn’t care to call attention to his looks but if braiding his hair makes you happy, it will not deny you the opportunity to do so

He does minimal braiding on his own beard and would secretly like to have something elaborate or longer

Will totally get more tattoos if you recommend some to him or would like to see Thor with some more in certain places

You’ve always admired his tattoos and now that you’re lovers with him, you get to inspect them up close, admire and trace them with your fingers

You'll become curious about what they mean and how and why he got them and he'll be more than happy to tell you those tales

It takes some encouragement to get Thor to have some fun and actually relax for once

He’s so used to being ordered around, controlled, degraded, and having no chill time, either that or nobody caring enough to give him a break or spend genuine quality time with him

That and almost everyone around him is a major prick lmao

A lot of the relaxing is just Thor being away from everyone except for you

Quiet dinners, naps, baths, drinking & eating contests, walks, etc, are all some of the best parts of your relationship with Thor

A much needed break and acts of self care that also involves you, his favorite person in the world

Speaking of everyone else, it’s pretty amusing to see folks react to you and Thor getting together tbh

Odin and Heimdall especially since even they were pretty sure that y’all two would pretty much stay forever bitter to each other

The look on Heimdall’s face when he realizes that he’ll have to deal with Thor from now on whenever he heckles you

Also Thor undeniably will come to your aid whenever an issue arises even if it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things

You do the same for him despite him not really caring what others think and say but the thought is what truly counts

Cause there was a time when he was the one attacking you and part of him does feel bad for his past actions

He wants to make up for that and show you through actions that he indeed thinks and feels for you differently from now on

And even you feel the same which you confide in him about

Headcannons: Heimdall, Thor and Odin w/ Reader who always carries food on them

AN: Had to write this asap cause I couldn't resist

Request: Heya, Heya!! Reread your Heimdall fic a couple times and it got me thinking of a head cannon request if you do that!

This is a request for God of War Ragnarok(I as least want Hiemdall, Odin, and Thor but you can add whoever)

And this is a fun type headcannon where the reader can randomly pull out food from nowhere. It’s not magic, they just always have food on them. They would even sometimes be randomly eating at the worse/awkward times

Heimdall:

Being the god of foresight and knowledge, Heimdall expected everything that would happen next.

But honestly, nothing could have prepared him for when you pulled out food from thin air.

He thinks you pulled it from thin air anyways, until you tell him that you just always have food on you.

His initial reaction to that is to ask, "...Why? The mess hall is not that far." You just shrug and respond, "You never know when you could want it. And plus, I'm not gonna walk all the way to the mess hall everytime I feel like eating."

Okay. Fair point.

It's times like these when Heimdall wonders how he ended up with someone as... Random as you could be. All the more reason to love you he guesses.

At some point he even learns to love your little hobby of keeping food on you. Sometimes he's too caught up in patrolling on the wall that he forgets to eat, then you come along with the food you carry and he just eats and talks to you.

Heimdall also lives for the looks of confusion on people's faces when they see you take out food like you just pulled it from another realm.

To this day Heimdall still kinda suspects that you do. You like making fun of him for it.

"Bet you couldn't forsee that." Cue a long, exaggerated sigh.

Also please do not eat while there's a literal fight going on. He loves you, he really does. But he'd rather have you alive than die because you were too busy munching.

He swears he even saw you offering a snack to the enemy at one point.

Thor:

He absolutely loves it.

Like the first time you do it, he laughs so loud you swear it could be heard throughout Asgard.

Thor doesn't even question where you got the food from, he's just immediately laughing and pulling you into a bone crushing hug.

You can literally see the hearts in his eyes whenever you do it, it's like he just fell in love with you for the first time again.

Also don't expect your food to be all for you whenever you pull it out to eat, because Thor will immediately be at your side eating it as well.

It's like a way to summon him honestly.

Like how some spirits require rituals to be summoned - Thor just needs food. It's the same for you honestly. Which is probably why everyone says you two are the perfect couple.

If anyone ever makes fun of you or comments on how you carry food everywhere, they can kiss their life goodbye cause Thor won't tolerate it.

He also doesn't give a crap if you eat during a fight, you did it during one of his bar fights and he took a break to eat with you cause why the hell not?

In conclusion, this man is hooked.

Odin:

The first time you do it is when he's talking to you about a plan of some sort.

He's about to turn but immediately does a double take when he sees the food in your hand.

Was that there before? Surely not.

It's funny seeing him trying to figure it out, you can see the gears turning in his head and you have to stifle a laugh.

After a short moment you tell him that you just carry food on you.

He's a little embarrassed that he didn't think of that first and goes, "Ah." Then he walks off, contemplating what just happened.

It's not that it bothers him or anything, it's just... Huh? Where does one even store that much food?? Do you have magic pockets or something??

You should be prideful, you managed to confuse Odin - the Allfather. Not many get to do that or even live when they do, you lucky, lucky person.

He learns to just not question it, he'll just end up more confused than he started off as. And unless you're planning to take over the 9 realms using your meals then he has nothing to worry about.

Hearing you eat has become a background noise for him now and he sometimes even gets worried when he doesn't hear you eating.

Huginn and Muninn also love you because you always let them peck at your food, despite Odin telling you not to let them.

You once ate while Thor and Odin were arguing in his study - was very awkward and very tense, 10/10 do not recommend doing it again but you likely will.

Sudden Disappearance

PAIRING: Kratos/Odin/Heimdall/Thor/Baldur x Female Reader (Romantic) (Separate)

SUMMARY: Their wife, (Y/N), is kidnapped. One day, she returns after victoriously defeating her captor.

Kratos goes into a panic when he can’t find you. He feels so many emotions all at once. He can’t focus on anything now that you’re missing.

A part of him wonders if you left him, but he tries not to focus on it; he knows you and doesn’t want to think negatively of you.

He’ll travel through every realm to find you, asking others of your whereabouts. Any leads towards a missing woman were all met with a dead end.

When you return Kratos embraces you tightly. After hearing about your experience he urges you to train more with him. Just in case this happens again, but your kidnapper happens to be stronger.

At first Odin thinks you’re just out exploring for some days. Days turn into weeks and when he can’t see you from the eyes of his ravens he begins to panic.

If Baldur is still alive then he’ll send him out to find you. Otherwise Odin will look for you himself, which is fairly quick considering his powers. Heimdall would tell him to reconsider going for you himself, saying it could be a trap to lure him in.

Odin would refute that, saying “She’s my wife. If I don’t go to look for her myself then who will? Baldur’s dead and I need you here in Asgard! Thor is useless in situations like this!”

When you return Odin demands to know what happened to you, and places a punishment worse than death on the culprit. He later creates a raven similar to Huginn and Muninn specifically for keeping an eye on you.

Heimdall knows you, and so once he suspects you’ve been abducted, he sticks to it. Never faltering to think that you left him. He is furious at the abductor and himself; he should have seen it coming, and yet he didn’t.

Will tell Odin of what has happened and that he wishes to look for you himself, however he is denied so as the Watchmen of the Aesir. Nobody likes him, and by being his wife, you, so he can’t convince anyone to look for you.

Heimdall will sneak out of Asgard and search for you against Odin’s command. He may love Asgard, but he loves you even more.

You’ll meet up halfway with Heimdall if he follows the right tracks to find you, which he likely will. If your captor isn’t already dead, then Heimdall will make sure he is.

Thor becomes paranoid when you don’t come back by night. He can’t sleep, and his thoughts start to wander. He worries that he might’ve done something wrong, he thinks you left him. He may even relapse into drinking.

Thrúd will comfort and knock some sense into her father, which sets him on the path for finding you. He does still worry that you may be dead, or left him for someone better.

Thor knows he’s hasn’t always been the best husband to you. But, you’re his wife. You’ve been married to this man for years and he’s not about to give up on you over paranoia.

When you return to Asgard Thor will hug you so tight your back may crack. He’s incredibly proud of you for defending yourself, but he will definitely become more protective of you. You’ll probably also start training with Thrúd.

Baldur is enraged by your kidnapping, but he’s confident that he will find you. Baldur also knows of your fighting capabilities, so he’s not too worried about your predicament.

He will find you. Just as you’re leaving from your kidnapper’s hideout Baldur lands before you with his dragon.

When both of you return home, Baldur makes it clear that nobody tries to harm his wife. He will personally antagonize anyone that even looks at you wrongly afterwards, secretly fearing the worst.

a/n: First time writing for a video game franchise and I hope that y’all enjoy this! Heimdall is easily my favorite GOW character besides Freyr and Angrboda. There’s not much fanfiction out there for GOW: Ragnarok right now, let alone for Heimdall, and like none for a Black!Reader specifically. So this is me PUTTING that content out there in the void for someone to find, read, and share! Side note: I am yet again writing Black!Reader headcanons with a darker skinned!reader and 4 type hair!reader in mind unapologetically. <3

this man does not hesitate. in mere seconds, kratos is lifting you into his arms and calling out for someone, anyone, who can help. he avoids looking at the blood that decorates the place where your eye should be. “i lost faye,” he mutters. “i won’t let you go as well. stay awake!” everything is a blur. whatever vision you have left is slowly turning to gray as a sudden wave of tiredness overtakes your body. the pain of it all is settling deep into your bones. as kratos’s muffled voice calls out for you in a panicked tone, you allow unconsciousness to take over, and the world finally fades into darkness.
