Im REALLY loving how they made Odin a “manipulative mob boss” type, someone who rules with psychological presence, charisma rather than raw power and might.

A breath of fresh air compared to like… 99% “big fellas” in the series (2/3 of this group included) plus perfect sense Atreus would “vibe more” with him, since he’s never really been one for muscle talk.

The scene change from Atreus in Asgard like reflecting on his plan and putting his knife down to Kratos picking up his matching knife in Sindri's house and literally PACING AROUND LOOKING AT IT. A man who we have really only ever seen composed, or channeling his anger into something productive, PACING AROUND IN ANXIETY. HES LITERALLY SO WORRIES ABOUT HIS SON BECAUSE HE DID THE ONE THING HE BEGGED HIM NOT TO DO. HES GONE SOMEWHERE HE CANT FOLLOW AND KRATOS FOR A FIRST IS SO PAINFULLY UNSURE.

Whoever came up with that transition is devious. Straight up evil. I'm so fucking sick over this. I cannot stress the effectiveness of showing Kratos pacing around his room like. Do you comprehend how out of character that really is for him. They genuinely mastered the subtle displays of emotion with this character.

I just cannot get over how worried he is for Atreus. That his first plan is to turn to THE FATES. AFTER SPENDIBG THE WHOLE GAME INSISTING THAT PROPHECY CANT BE TRUSTED. BECAUSE THE VERY THING ATREUS WAS CHASIBG AFTER MAY BE THE ONLY CHANCE HE HAS TO GETTING HIM BACK.

I ruined. This game has ruined me. It's incredible. I cannot handle this. Please oh my god just let them be reunited.

MORE All-Father!Kratos headcanons because, yes, i'm still obsessed.

* kratos, as a diplomat, is incredibly stern with his tone when it comes to negotiation. this is not just because of his spartan nature: it's because he feels the need to be straight forward with the terms and conditions, otherwise war would break out again.

* the dwarves, as a thank you for freeing them from odin's grasp, crafted kratos an armour set fit for a king. he noticed the huldra brothers full brand on it - sindri had also joined the collaboration. he cherishes the armour with his heart and soul while looking after it, just as he should of done with his previous armour in the beginning. he refuses to take advantage of sindri any longer.

* speaking of sindri, kratos had managed to actually converse with him about mourning a brother. they both came to an understanding and while sindri can never truly forgive and forget, kratos always has his door open to let sindri come and go.

* in kratos' main home, many individuals of power - such as freya and sif - come and go using the 'realm room' as it's the most convenient point to travel to and from. originally, kratos had minded but mimir managed to convince him to think otherwise.

* mimir is now officially considered kratos' right hand head and advisor. the people of the (now) 8 realms as 'the all-fathers ultimate guider', as they knew he had counselled kratos and positively influenced his decisions.

* while atreus does come and go, he does act as a sort of spokesman for the jötnar. kratos wants everyone to be at peace and refuses to have a bias towards anyone because atreus is his son. atreus has deep respect for his father because of that.

* kratos had asked freya to teach him some enchantments and spells to help him have more independence in each realm. freya accepted. safe to say, kratos learnt 'falki' and can turn into a falcon for faster travel. he does not abuse it. atreus shit himself when he say a dark brown and white falcon fly towards him when kratos visited jötunhiem.

* kratos had a statue build for faye, freyr and brok to show that they were honoured individuals who did their best for the cause. kratos managed to ask sindri for permission, in which he said yes. brok's statue is in svartalhiem in a private place for close friends.

* kratos has braids and gold in his beard thanks to angrboda braiding them every time she visits. he cannot bring himself to remove them, and ultimately rocks the look.

* he returned artifacts taken by odin that he did not deserve to keep. the people were thankful.

* kratos makes mushroom quiche for his staff and close friends every friday simply because he can.

* everytime atreus returns, kratos bear hugs him in private. atreus doesn't mind at all.

Night had fallen long ago, and your room is quiet and calm, and so, so dark. You can barely see anything; what little moonlight enters through the windows leaves your view confined to the comfort of the bed. There's very little you can see, but what you can—

He had gone still some time ago, no more movement besides the calm expanding of his chest as slepts, and you watch in quiet awe his moonlit figure.

He has so many freckles.

His back is littered with them, countless spots scattered on his skin like stars in the night sky, and you trace constellations on his shoulder blades with your gaze. There are some birthmarks here and there, and you long to caress the skin, to press your lips against his marks.

You curl into yourself a little, grasping as much warmth as you can. Even with the All-Father’s magic keeping everything warm, you could swear some cold creeps in under the covers, sneaking from outside the walls.

Night chills have their way in, even in Asgard

Even though you feel some chills, the room is warm and cozy, and comfortable enough for him to discard his shirt before coming to bed. His breaths had evened out long ago, and he rests on his side, back facing you, as he always does.

Some would take offense at the position, believing it meant he ignored you, even as he slept. You want to think differently, want to believe it’s because he doesn’t see you as a threat—

Trusted you, even.

“Did you know that you think absurdly loud?” His voice is sudden, abrupt, and you jolt in surprise.  His voice is husky with sleep, and he sounds annoyed because you woke him up— and yet, he does not turn around.

It may be because of the darkness, but you could swear the tips of his ears are flushed.

You cannot help the quirk of your mouth as you curl an arm around his waist. He is cozier than the knitted duvets, warmer than any fireplace, and you leech off his warmth. You snuggle into his back, rubbing your cold nose against his skin and wrapping your cold legs around his own.

He jolts at the contact, curses flowing free from his mouth.

“Norns, woman, did you just crawl out of Hel?” He exclaims, glowering at you over his shoulder, looking seconds away from pushing you away. You do nothing but stare back, wrapping tighter around him, and he sights, muttering under his breath how he does not know what he did to deserve this, how he should push you and your frozen limbs out of the bed at once.

He does not move away, though.  Instead, he grabs the duvet and pulls it a little higher, closer around the both of you.

When you press your cold lips to his freckled back, he doesn’t object.
