Author Update and TAG Notifications

So, I’ve been MIA for a while. Been working on some personal stuff and preparing a novel for publication. I think I’ve finally got my schedule reset to something close to normal and have been spending time also writing fanfiction again for fun!

Since it’s been a long time, my TAG LISTS are likely way out of date.

To make it easier on my time, I’ve created a sub-blog NotYetNeedCoffee-Posting to manage everyone that wants personal notification of a new story or an update. I am no longer going to add individual tags to the ends of the story posts.

Hmmmm, I can’t be selfish and say both, because this is based on two different films to be made. Interesting cheating scenario that would be and might influence the outcome.

Ari or Frank 🤔. Well to start, both have good hair to grab for a non the less steamy love scene 😈.

But

I’d think Frank in this case would be more selfish in that love scene emotionally and be more closed off, which would make him a less giving and non-pleasant actor to work with.

So I’d pick Ari, because there would be more to bounce off from emotionally. I’d believe he’d be more caring and wanting it to be a safe space to feel emotions and build to a more floating level of performance 🎭

Thor had made you sad.

He hadn’t meant to, but he did.

And he loathed himself for it.

Looking back, he understands how you’d gotten frustrated with him. You were so incredibly excited for Halloween and kept mentioning your decorations and favorite movies, memories of your childhood. Perhaps he’d gotten overly pedantic about certain creatures existing or not, what constituted being ‘spooky’.

He’d walked into your apartment earlier this week, happy to visit you after being away for an extended mission. You’d yelled ‘BOO!’ and tossed a miniature infantry of decorative spiders in his direction. Without so much as a flinch he’d caught most of the fake arachnids and looked at you with confusion.

Now he cringed at how he’d called Earth spooks “silly” and went on about Loki was a true prankster; how was he supposed to be afraid of plastic spiders when his brother had turned into an actual snake and stabbed him? 

He’d called your spookiness ‘cute’.

Yikes.

He had to fix it.

That’s how he ended up procuring tickets to New York City’s most prestigious haunted house. Your exuberance when he’d handed you the tickets was almost enough to fix it. Almost. Throwing your arms around his neck and jumping into him felt good, almost normal. 

But then you’d leaned back with a mousiness that didn’t suit you and mumbled, “You don’t have to come with me, I know it’d probably seem lame to you.”

Almost.

“Of course I’m coming with you! Can’t let you have all the fun. And if I get scared, I’m going to need you to comfort me.” He tapped your nose and just like that, your smile returned.

From the minute you stepped inside your hands were entwined, partially to maintain balance in the near-pitch darkness between flashes of light, part comfort.

Although the fog machine and the strategically placed candelabras contributed to a certain ambience combined with the intensely loud music and sound effects, Thor found himself wondering if he was missing massive cultural context for what the people of Earth called scary. Gore was unsettling, true, but why was a clown involved? Was a chainsaw not just a tool when working with lumber? Why were there so many porcelain dolls? And Zombies weren’t real - if they were, why would brains be their food of choice?

While keeping an eye on the actor bent over a table of “brains”, Thor looks over his shoulder to assess exactly why you’d shivered at the sight. When he turns back around, he finds him standing eye-to-eye, nose almost touching that of a large man with completely black eyes.

Squeak is not a word Thor had ever used to describe himself. Except for maybe that moment when he jumped so high in the air your hand was dislodged from his.

The silent actor moves along, leaving Thor’s chest heaving in surprise.

“Oh, I was, um- that didn’t surprise me, no, I...” Mouth agape, he searches for a justification.

He looks down and you are grinning from ear to ear. “Do you get it now?”

Peace settles through him at your slightly sadistic cheerfulness. “Yeah. I get it. Earth spooks aren’t too bad after all.”

The way you snuggle into his side for the duration of the experience was well worth the swallowing of his pride.

well, its also my Ao3 name, and i wanted it to be the same! but i was watching I'll be gone in the Dark, that documentary about Patton Oswald's wife (her name is escaping me rn) and i think someone said something about unsolved cases being boxes of bones, and it just stuck.
