I had this thought for awhile now, but I genuinely think that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 would be SO much better if it had blood and swear words. Like more mature (but no sexual stuff Nono horny jail NOW!)

And I really do think it will work because all of the seasons are gonna be more dramatic and memorable as well as funny and defining/ separating characters more. (we all know who is going to have have sailors mouth. )

Like imagine the brothers literally KILLING for pizza

And Ralph cursing and bullying every existing creature and object like a savage.

however this aggression will have a great contrast with him being nice and caring in some moments with people he truly loves.

I can think of more examples with other brothers but Ralph will have more definite change in his characteristics.

Head Over Heels

This is my first tmnt fic that I've written and I had 2012 Donnie in mind when I wrote this. Though, I'm a fan of various tmnt series. I hope you guys like it.

Donatello knew it the moment he first saw her, that April O'Neil had ruined other women for him; there could simply be no other that'd ever compare. Though, being the genius he was didn't mean he hadn't done the math, as well as the other experiments to prove otherwise; he couldn't of course. Why, he exhibited all the tall tale signs from quickened heartbeat, sweaty palms, intrusive and endless thoughts of her in the minutes, hours, days, and weeks to come. He thought it might someday go away, just as he once thought the gap between his teeth might close, but neither came to be. That wasn't to say he was unhappy with this new predicament, but it opened up a whole new world of feelings that took time to understand.

It might've been the turtle side of him which preferred his space and seclusion fighting with his human side for want of affection, though nonetheless, he couldn't fight this conflagration. As time went on, he'd come to know more of her, of her likes and dislikes, of her peculiarities which made her seem so devastatingly human but prove otherwise in the years to come. He'd come to find that although he had always been told of the destructive ways of humans, that this one wasn't like them, and would welcome them as though they were equals of mind and spirit. That isn't to say there weren't roadblocks that would stir the pot, like Casey Jones or the world ending every five minutes, but they made it past those things, and his feelings changed; they became a being almost in itself with how much he could scarcely control them. Yet, he'd have to learn because how else could he keep a friend?

In this world, there were many things which could be understood for they were tested and tried, but trying her and his luck was a risk he dare not make unless his hypothesis proved true. Why, could she ever love him? It certainly would be a dream come true. Though, a terrapin was beyond dreaming, or hoping, or scheming, though his heart hadn't caught up with what his brain knew. However, perhaps if he had been brave, and forgot logic and believed in chances, all that would be relative is that masks couldn't hide what he would do if given the opportunity; to be free from the constraints a sheltered life did to his livelihood; to be a man in mind, spirit, and in an exercised reality which transcended drawings and daydreams; to have faith in oneself and in her.

To say he loved her was an understatement because she was his religion. Blind he was not, but motivational was not it either. Yet, he read her like she was an encyclopedia, and knew her word by word; didn't mean he understood it, but it didn't stop him from trying; begging to be heard. Busy, oh it made him so busy in the drowning madness but he wasn't a machine; of flesh and blood he was, despite his shades of green. And while conscious of his mortality, he took it day by day; pushing limits past mutant extremes; it was his natural way.

From sunrise to sunset, she was the equation, the definition, and the revelation which made his head spin; headiness provided from his sweet chinchilla; a nickname which spoke volumes of his devotion in being the lovable embarrassment of a friend despite what he wished could be. He might've not known whether she was his magnum opus, or simply a discovery. Yet, what he knew for certain was that she was his life and he'd give anything to keep it. Good thing she was tangible, and more than a theory; to be determined, or so it would seem.

Your blog is making me really want to start reading/watching some of the older comics and shows for TNMT, but I’m not entirely sure where to start. Do you have any recommendations?

It depends on where and how you want to wade into the fandom. I generally recommend starting with the 2003 cartoon, which is the closest to the source material. Then, watch the 1987 cartoon, which existed to sell the toys made from Mirage, and took on a life of its own, and is now part of television history. Both shows explain the varied forms of the characters over the decades, how they were shaped by different writers, showrunners, and also the fandom.

I've blogged about my online chat with 1987 toon head writer, who took Michelangelo, turned him into a dumbass stoned surfer pizza addict who provided comic relief. I've blogged about recalling the writing clause for the 2003 toon, where Mikey wasn't allowed angst and had to stay goofy no matter what let's torture Don instead. This led to the Double Mutation arc of the fourth season being rewritten for Donatello instead of originally Michelangelo. I've inspired a bunch of fanfics.

Our fandom archivist, 2003 expert, and fellow Elder Fan @hummerhouse can help if you want. There's a lot of history surrounding the franchise.

What do you think of all the hate 2012 April is getting?

Oh, is the TNMT 2012 fandom being horrible again? The TMNT 2012 fandom, who single-handedly made one of my favorite creators afraid of speaking to fans because they constantly twisted his words and assumed bad intentions behind every creative decision he made?  Lemme guess - this has to do with shipping, because we can’t have a love triangle plot with some fans taking it way too seriously, right?

Anyways, I’ve been catching up with Rise the past few days. Who else is losing their minds about “CJ”? With the hockey poster in the room and everything?? Think the fan theories were right or the staff NOTICED the fan theories and are royally messing with us? Can’t wait for the new episodes later this week!
