First drawing was made in 2021, the second in 2022. This is exploring an au where Padme Amidala was togrutan instead of human.

Padme’s face markings changed a little between versions as I wasn’t quite happy with the original. Her montrals and lekku are inspired by her funeral gown because the prevalence of sadness in Padme’s life is a interesting concept to explore. (Left of second drawing) I'm curious if a togrutan Padme would were a cooler tone sunset dress or would she keep the warm tones. I think her full queen face up would be fairly similar to how it looks in the movies ( hard to keep your identity as queen separate with such identifying markings without totally covering up) but I imagine she would have more relaxed versions of the queens look as she transitions into a senator. (Top right of second drawing) Padme living and taking care of her children means so much to me. I also explored the idea of half-togrutan Leia and Luke. Leia’s marking are inspired by the rebellion symbol and her lekku are inspired by descriptions of Alderann’s mountains. Since she's in her celebration gown I also paired her with some tasteful akul teeth jewelry because Leia knows how to mark victories. Luke's lekku are much more toned down inspired by Tatooine's sands with simple wrappings in line with Tatooine pratical fashion. He has twin markings with Leia but also has some elements of Padme’s markings because I always thought Luke resembled Padme more than Anakin.

thinking about togruta!anakin and how fucked up that would make things, canon-wise. like,,,,togrutas have unique markings (or so i like to believe) on their lekku, montrals and faces. even after getting burnt to a crisp, im guessing anakin's would still be somewhat recognizeable (or if they weren't you would still be able to tell that vader was not human)

people would be able to tell that's him under the mask, eventually, because what are the fucking chances? and it wouldn't be wise for him to completely cover them with armour because good luck with hearing and sensing stuff.

but, most importantly, luke and leia would know they're somewhat related because honestly,,,,two half human-half togruta young adults around the same age who happen to have identical face markings and very similar lekku/montrals? there arent many explanations lol

and luke, noticing swirls he knows like the back of his hand beneath vader's charred skin? he would know.

i'd totally love to expand on this one day, especially on the additional damage made by lava to anakin's nervous system contained in his montrals lololol

Change in plans.

My mainline Togruta Skywalkers au is a Vader-deflects-from-the-Empire au rather than a Vader-survives-ROTJ au.

I just couldn’t justify it to myself. This Vader just would not be able to justify dismissing Leia’s clear connection to him. It’s too visible and the doubts have been brewing much closer to the surface for him to not be able to put it together on the Death Star.

I guess Obi-Wan will just HAVE to find the will to live somehow 🙄

Ask Ben Solo

What’s up, HoloNet! The name’s Ben. Currently 23 years old. I’m the only son of an Alderaanian princess and a Corellian scoundrel, and I have an adopted sister named Rey.

I started this blog when I was fifteen and afraid of becoming a Jedi. To make things worse, I started hearing voices in my head…voices that turned out to be someone who wanted to control me. Luckily, my friends and family got involved, and Snoke seems to have backed off.

I did make friends with some of Uncle Luke’s Jedi students, but I ended up attending the University of Naboo (Go Shaaks!) and got my degree in Journalism, since I’ve always been interested in writing, history, and politics. (Scroll back enough, and you’ll see my cringe pro-Imperial phase from back in the day. Yikes.)

I stayed on Naboo after graduation, and now I write for The Chommell Sector Daily. In my free time I lift weights, write poetry, and fight with people online.

Hypothetical Star Wars Disney+ TV series: “Podracers”

GENERAL PREMISE

During the early days of the New Republic, podracing is banned by Leia’s new government due to the dangerous nature of the sport. However, on the planet Batuu, the sport lives on under the New Republic’s eye.

One year after the events of “Rise of Skywalker”, podracing remains banned despite the change in leadership. The series focuses on Ren Shanyu, an ambitious podracer living on Batuu, and his journey to be the best while avoiding the New Republic authorities, criminals out to get him, and rival podracers who are not above killing their competition.

TL;DR It’s Star Wars’ version of Tokyo Drift.

CASTING THE SERIES

1) Steven Yeun as Ren Shanyu, our main protagonist

2) Adam Scott as Garrick, the deuteragonist and Ren’s togruta mechanic (NOTE: same race as Ahsoka Tano)

3) Jessica Henwick reprises her role as X-wing pilot Jessika Pava. After “Rise of Skywalker”, Jessika became a podracer due to becoming disillusioned with the New Republic’s politics. She is Ren’s friendly rival-turned-best friend (turned potential love interest).

4) Park Hae-soo as Ventis Vix, the main villain. He is an egotistical podracer competing against Ren and Jessika. His drive to win is so intense that he’s murdered racers in previous races.
