punch out pokemon au ‼️

so i realized that punch out wii has 13 opponents (not counting donkey kong) that are divided up in such a way that they could all be opponents in a pokemon game! the minor and major circuits are the 8 gym leaders, the world circuit is the elite four, and mr sandman is the champion! it's too perfect! i've at least decided everyone's type specialties, sooo....

gym leaders (minor & major circuits):

- glass joe: flying types

i imagine joe is not as miserable in this au, since the first gym leader's job is literally to lose a lot to young trainers. he's not too skilled at battling, and became a gym leader by accident. his team is made up of two measly kalosian flying types, fletchling and vivillon.

- von kaiser: rock types

i know herr kaiser is typically associated with steel, but steel types are way too cool to be the type of the second gym. sorry. i imagine his students are his gym trainers. his ace is rockruff, and maybe he uses something classic like geodude as well.

- disco kid: electric types

these moves are ELECTRIC! i think this one is self-explanatory. disco kid is pretty good at battling, at least good enough to secure a spot as the 3rd gym leader, but he also doesn't take things too seriously. his team is made up of pokemon that he befriended first and trained for battle later, with his ace being raichu.

- king hippo: ground types

did i give him the ground type just so i could give him hippowdon? ...maybe. there's not much else for me to say about king hippo... he's just chilling. good for him. i was originally gonna give him the poison type, but i'll be giving that type to someone else. ;)

- piston hondo: ghost types

what can i say? he seems like a ghost type guy. obviously he gets a revaroom, because honda and all that. he absolutely feeds his pokemon only the best of snacks.

- bear hugger: normal types

what comes to mind when you hear "bear hugger" and "pokemon"? obviously it's bewear. that is his ace, without a doubt. he also has a greedent and a snorlax, it's way too perfect! and of course, they all like raw fish.

- great tiger: psychic types

yeah i don't think i need to explain this one. the man has a medicham (his ace) and an espeon. this also fits the theme of psychic gym leaders tending to have psychic powers themselves. do you think it's legal to use your own psychic powers to trip up your opponents in a battle? let's not worry about it...

- don flamenco: grass types

it goes without saying that this man has a roserade for his ace, as well as an equally powerful arboliva. maybe carmen is one of his gym trainers, or perhaps she's only there to cheer him on? and do you think he would acquire a shiny roserade for his title defense fight to match his all-black look?

elite four (world circuit):

- aran ryan: bug types

what an absolute bug of a man. starting off the elite four strong with a not-so-strong type, aran ryan chose the generation 7 bug type vikavolt to be his ace. he also has a shedinja, which sports the electric tera type and the air balloom item in his title defense fight. really? (for non-pokemon nerds, this setup makes it nearly unkillable. it's practically cheating!) aran has a questionable background, and seems to have been affiliated with some shady people in the past...

- soda popinski: water types

mister popinski has a love for both water and ice types, and he's in luck because a good few pokemon are both! his ace is one of those, that being walrein. he also has a lapras. he's quite fond of giving his team the soda pop item as opposed to normal healing items during battle.

- bald bull: fire types

red is the color of anger, and also the color of the fire type, so naturally this angry man would gravitate towards fire types, especially the fire type bull that is paldean taurous. he also uses a magmortar. of course bald bull isn't angry ALL the time, and spends his free time relaxing with his pokemon. warm pokemon give warm hugs :]

- super macho man: dragon types

of course everyone's "favorite" show-off uses what's generally regarded as one of the most powerful types. his ace is a kommo-o, a very cool one at that. (i like smm and i like kommo-o. but it works!) he also has an appletun, which was a gift to him from a certain someone... oh my god, this au lets macho man literally release the beast. amazing.

the champion (mr. sandman)

sandman does not use just one type, as is the case with most champions. he has a gengar and a musharna, for obvious reasons. he also has a crabominable and and a hydrapple. he was mysteriously missing after mac defeated the elite four, but i'm sure he'll come back soon. right?

i'm sure nothing bad will happen ;)

Welcome esteemed guests and fans of Ogerpon. As you can see, I am clinically insane over this questionable pokemon who has murdered before.

This is mainly a means of explaining the lore of some Ogerpons for the blog @ogerpon-squad. You can check that out whenever you'd like.

Now, with the pleasantries out of the way, please welcome our esteemed Ogerpon guests. You better applaud or I will kill you.

Glitchpon:

Glitchpon is an Ogerpon made by Foxzu (yours truly) and is a part of the Hakkyo AU (also made by me). They are an empty soul with no other purpose than to serve the player Diane (players like you!). The AU takes place in the real world, where Pokemon is nothing but a video game played by humans. They are cold and emotionless (almost!), but will fit right in to the shenanigans of the blog.

Terapon:

Terapon is an Ogerpon made by @foxzutheone and is a part of the WALL-E AU (I love walle with a passion). They are a highly evolved version of Ogerpon that has adapted to the toxic environment. The air on earth is full of tera crystals, which are not breathable by humans and pokemon. Since all pokemon were forced to retreat, Terapon was left on her own with only one friend. She has no memory of the Loyal Three or Pecharunt, and thus is innocent and naive about the world. She is always will to extend a helping hand to anyone, whether they have good intentions or not.

Onipon:

Onipon is an Ogerpon made by @foxzutheone, and is part of the Sharpened Horns AU. She is made of magic, like most pokemon in her dimension, and was sealed inside an ancient spellbook by the evil Dokutaro long ago. She has made a pact with Kieran, and has been slowly merging with him so she can taste life again. This may not be her only intention, however…

Onipon is sassy and vindictive, but is a good soul at heart. Being misunderstood her entire life, she has a vendetta against humanity and is generally not very supportive of them. She and Kieran prepare for the day Dokutaro is fated to return.

Crumblepon:

Crumblepon is the Ogerpon in the Crumbling Castle AU made by @marisol124. The Ogerpon’s in this AU are a species made to protect and guard, however nothing is known about them other than the singular surviving one in Kitakami, as though a tale lost to time. Like canon, Ogerpon and her trainer end up in Kitakami and are taken pity on by the village’s mask maker. Then they get attacked by the Loyal 3 yada yada She ends up going with Florian. She’s such a silly little child she doesn’t fully understand what’s happening all the time but she's having fun.

Rock/Poison/Corrupted? (or 'is Geeta evil? Probably not, she's just a bit awkward, but here's why if she is')

... Huh. Are y'all good? There's a fair amount of evil!Geeta speculation online, and like... I can't honestly sit here and say to you that she isn't a little sus, but...

And I know that I've personally commented before on how the Elite Four are the AU Treasures of Ruin and that if they are, that must mean Geeta is their evil 'king' (because, y'know... Kingambit. Her name means 'heightened surface', like the stakes. She picked her own Elite Four. She runs several institutions, and she also just so happens to give you this.)

... But evil? Really? We actually out here assuming this woman's Volo incarnate for being a bit socially awkward and giving you a King's Rock? Yeah nah, sorry. You're going to need a little more than that to convince me, friends. At the moment, she just looks like a woman in a position of power who's a bit curious maybe but is slaying. When you write as much meta as I do, you need the good shit.

Except... I think we already have it, two generations ago. I'm sure we all remember this lovely lady...

Hello Lusamine, long time no see! How have you been, completely unhinged?

And what does this woman have in common with Geeta, aside from being a research-involved girlboss? (Because yep, we know Geeta was pals with the professors...)

Oh, now we're talking. This is the good shit. :D

There are only two Rock and Poison types available in all of the Pokemon world: one has a very close association with Lusamine, and the other is owned by Geeta.

And, er... we all know how well this ended for Lusamine...

Mmm. Purple, black, and gold accents... now where have I seen that before?

... Oh, yeah. Casually stalking me around Paldea after I bother getting a decent number of badges. Well, fuck...

The purple for the Poison, the gold for the Rock, and the black for... well, they do call the Dark type 'Evil' in Japan... that's my kinda colour symbolism. ;) And before you come at me and tell me the Rock type's more brown... not in Paldea it isn't, pals, because this is a Rock Tera den.

Now, whilst Lusamine had an emotional trigger that left her more susceptible to the neurotoxins Nihilego produces...

... Geeta is permanently walking around with this shit.

This is her day job, yeeting the sentient embodiment of poison at you in all its concentrated glory. And whilst I could make a good case for her having the exact same emotional trigger as Lusamine, I can't prove it, and I don't deal in pure speculation. :) But I can happily prove that she has own issues - issues that could quite easily be twisted to darker purposes, and perhaps already have been.

This is an excellent example of pure, and unrepentant, arrogance. She shows zero remorse in saying no one can get through her, and yet you and I know that she has very little on her team to back up this overconfidence. She's seen by most people as the easiest champion we've ever had, and... maybe this is why. Because she must have known at some point, right? No one gets this far without being damn good at least earlier in their life...

Maybe once upon a time, Geeta did know exactly how to construct a team. She knew to put Kingambit last, and she knew to put Glimmora first. But... well, I've analysed final slots before, with Larry and Staraptor/Flamigo, and concluded that the last slot in a trainer's party symbolises potential - what that trainer could be, for better or for worse.

And, well...

The 'Top Champion' can't be a Kingambit, because she already is.

(Hilariously, this is the Violet dex's version of Kingambit, which is also ringing a little bit close to home.)

But if the final slot is potential...

... Oh. Oh, hell. The genuine definition of 'toxic' there...

It's also very worth mentioning on the battle front that whilst Lusamine is also a powerful trainer, her AI is... questionable when you face her, to reflect her erratic nature under the influence of Nihilego. I don't know man, it's almost like there's a link here... /sarcasm

And although the anime's a separate canon, the idea is very much the same.

So, whilst I'm not expecting some weird Glimgeeta fusion-ha! shit going on here, if you take the already-present social curiosities of our Top Champion, throw in the arrogance and the power she holds, and combine it with sentient venom...

Is Geeta evil, friends? Pffft, still not convinced. The great majority of her in-game time is spent being (seemingly, anyway) genuinely supportive of you, Nemona, and anything you both do to achieve greatness. Even those gym leaders who have a problem with her - Tulip, Katy, Larry and Grusha - all have their reasons, but they spring from a place of circumstance. Larry admits later she was right to ask him to use a new type and broaden his horizons; Grusha is afraid of her because she could fire him, and yet he's still gym eight; Katy understands that she can't go all out because of where she is, it just frustrates her... the only one with a truly viable case here is Tulip. Because if the Psychic-type gym leader thinks your vibes are off... your vibes are probably a bit off. But, despite all of that... I can't ignore the sus here. I can't ignore the Glimmora; I can't ignore the potential, whether it's been realised yet or not.

And so, if Geeta's evil... it's not because she's a woman, or a bad champion, or a tyrant, or whatever the hell else. It's because she shares a luxury apartment with a Hell Crystal.

... a Hell Crystal that doesn't tera Poison. Maybe, so far, the Rock's been strong enough to hold out... let's see if it stays that way in the DLC, shall we?

Herald of Ruin

Hello everyone. It's been awhile since I made a post here. Tumblr isn't exactly making things easy especially because I finally gotten asks after so long. And guess who got a glitch which makes it impossible to edit said asks much less one that still hasn't been solved in days?

Nevermind the details although since that isn't the focus. I got plagued with a new AU idea which wouldn't leave me alone. Thus this particular post.

We all know about Optimus Prime. The heroic leader of the Autobots, a kind and gentle mech who battles those that dare threaten the peace. Yet one part of him we really see is his humble origin as Orion Pax. The bot before the war truly war began.

In multiple iterations, Orion is depicted as a dock worker, a miner, or for this AU Prime's archivist version. What do I have in store for him? Let's begin. (Part 2 can be found here.)

Orion Pax didn't exactly know where he was. It definitely ain't Cybertron from the vibrant greenery, bright blue sky and the peculiar fauna that roamed around him. An organic world instead of metal.

His memory core being a massive mess didn't help either. Orion could access some datas like who he is, where he came from, his function, and even a few individuals but everything else is engulfed by errors. All the archivist could do at the moment was walk.

Thus Orion Pax took his first steps into this strange colorful world. A directionless path past red cliffs, small pools of water, and the various wildlife that watched from a distance in curiosity. It all led to a peculiar metallic emblem embedded in the one such cliff.

A large vault that bear an eerie vibrant purple symbol that glowed as if reacting to him. Without word, Orion Pax approach the strange landmark. His vision flashing constantly to a dark abyss that held a faint blue light before his outstretched servo.

Time began to stretch into constant flashes until contact been made. Orion Pax barely blinked before he found himself on the ground back to the colorful world around him. And it didn't take long to see amber eyes peer down his optics.

Narrow gaze full of skeptical curiosity in what embodies a pure ancient grudge woven in wooden tablets decorated by dead leaves. The kind which had Orion remembering a phrase hidden by broken processor. Knowledge is power. A treasure that can bring peace...

Or RuIn.

Yup. We are delving into the world of Pokemon as Orion Pax just encounter the Ruinous Tablets: Wo-Chien. In Scarlet and Violet, there are four unique seals scattered across the region. These contain the Treasures of Ruin, powerful Pokemon that brought disaster onto Paldea long long ago.

Wo-Chien is the wooden tablets used by a grudge filled scribe to write the deeds of a corrupt king. The Pokemon doesn't attack Orion for one sheer reason: curiosity. It never seen anything like the archivist before.

The potential of untold knowledge leads to an unspoken alliance between the two. Something which later evolves into a powerful bond. Orion names the Wo-Chien 'Blackbox'. (Black boxes are devices that record and contain important data.)

It doesn't take long until the two come across a Pokemon Trainer named Roc. (This trainer fills the main character role for Scarlet/Violet.) After a misunderstanding which involves a language barrier and mistaking a Cybertronian for a Pokemon, Orion Pax's path is laid.

Travel the Paldea region alongside Roc, maybe even help him on his journey. By doing this he could piece together the answers to what led him here and maybe get back home. For now Orion learns about this strange new world.

Travelling across Paldea is gonna require a mix of alt mode, holoform and alternate fuel sources. Orion's alt mode is gonna be a cargo truck since my headcanon height for him is 19 ft. As for alternate fuel, it takes the forms of Tera Shards.

These shards are crystallized energy only found in the Paldea region and responsible for a phenomenon known as Terastallization. Roc made a desperate attempt to save a energy drained Orion by having him consume a Dark Tera Shard. These items become vital for the Cybertronian until he can fully perfect a recipe for Synthetic Energon. Success varies.

For Pokemon, Orion only catches those who wish to join him unless a situation calls for it. Like the safety of the creature in question that leads to no other option. Otherwise Orion leaves them be. The same goes for battling as well with the exception of spars.

Our archivist will have a team like any other trainer and I'll be going over the main ones. His signature team basically. Let's start with Orion's first Pokemon.

Blackbox: Wo-Chien

Type: Dark/Grass Nature: Serious Tera: Dark

Ability: Tablets of Ruin- reduce the ATK of all other Pokemon on the field.

Moves: Growth, Ruination, Giga Drain, Dark Pulse

This grumpy book snail of a Wo-Chien prefers to quietly read and nap in peace. He's not above using his ability to intimidate someone if irritated enough. Blackbox isn't fully heartless though as he cares for Orion alongside his close companions in subtle ways. Harm them and this Wo-Chien will drain those offenders dry.

Purrlee: Purugly

Type: Normal Nature: Jolly Tera: Ground

Ability: Defiant - Boosts Attack when stats lowered.

Moves: Play Rough, Hone Claws, Dig, Bulldoze

Orion's second Pokemon, this Tiger Cat is surprisingly very friendly, snuggly and energetic despite the species. She was abandoned by her former Trainer after evolving from Glameow. Purrlee has a tendency to bowl over others for surprise nuzzles. No one stops her though, not even Blackbox.

Vos: Gligar

Type: Ground/Flying Nature: Impish Tera: Poison

Ability: Hyper Cutter- Prevents Attack from lowering

Moves: Cross Poison, Swords Dance, Bulldoze, Fire Fang

A wild glutton who serves as Orion's third Pokemon. He joined the team back when he was a Gligar that gotten lost from his group and slept in the archivist's cabin. Vos' name is coined from a lost memory that the Pokemon had accidentally triggered. He loves sleeping in Orion's cabin or hang off him like a perch.

Shard: Quaquaval *Shiny

Type: Water/Fighting Nature:Timid Tera: Ice

Ability: Moxie- boosts Attack for each Pokemon they defeat

Moves: Aqua Step, Ice Spinner, Counter, Hurricane

Orion's fourth Pokemon is a shy dancer who wishes to perfect her craft. Shard started as a very timid Quaxly who evolves over the span of the adventure. The dual type has gain more confidence upon becoming a Quaquaval but still hides behind Orion if spooked.

Noctis: Grimmsnarl

Type: Dark/Fairy Nature: Naughty Tera: Fairy

Ability: Pickpocket - Steals an item if physically attacked

Moves: Spirit Break, Play Rough, Drain Punch, Crunch

A loyal yet mischievous powerhouse that became Orion's fifth Pokemon. He started as a self destructive chaotic Morgrem who absolutely loathe the archivist until one fateful incident led to Noctis not only evolving into Grimmsnarl but try to better himself. The dual type still pull pranks, thankfully these aren't as dangerous like back then.

Vector Prime: Steelix *Can Mega Evolve

Type: Steel/Ground Nature: Gentle Tera: Steel

Ability: Sturdy - Cannot be knocked out with 1 hit KOs

Moves: Dragon Dance, Iron Tail, Psychic Fangs, Metal Burst

A mysterious Pokemon that can sense space-time anomalies serves as Orion's sixth Pokemon. Vector is a grandfatherly soul who tends to dote on everyone and provide comfort or wisdom if needed. His name stems from a triggered memory like Vos. Vector can mega evolve with the Steelixite Orion earned if need be.

Crimson: Koraidon

Type: Dragon/Fighting Nature: Hasty Tera: Dragon

Ability: Orichalcum Pulse -Turns the sunlight harsh when entering battle. The ancient energy thrumming through this Pokemon boosts it's Attack in harsh sunlight.

Moves: Collision Course, Iron Head, Dragon Claw, Shadow Claw

A hyperactive and affectionate Legendary that is Orion's emotional support Pokemon. He was entrusted to the archivist by Professor Sada as a Ride Pokemon, although she's unaware of him not being human. Crimson spends most his time munching on sandwiches and making others laugh than battling. Doesn't mean the Koraidon is unable to curb stomp those who wish to cause trouble.

I can't forget about Orion's human companion. Roc is a 23 year old trainer who tends to be quite carefree but also equally reckless. He aspires to be a Frontier Brain and run his own facility. To do so, he must compete in the Battle Frontier which will pit him against trainers who can match even Pokemon League champions in skill or strength.

Roc explores various regions to gain experience that could aid in his quest. He accidentally mistook Orion for a Pokemon on their first meeting and it took Blackbox stealing the man's Rotomphone to stop the fight from escalating. (There's a language barrier which can be resolved by the data inside the device.)

Roc is an enabler when it comes to Orion. From the limited info he got out of the bot's fragmented memory, the young man felt angry about how his new friend lived back on Cybertron. Something Roc decides to rectify by giving Orion a chance to experience life.

It does put a dent in his wallet but the price is worth it when the archivist gets to attend a carnival or read whatever book he wants. Orion tries to pay him back however Roc usually refuses. The time he doesn't is by asking to learn stuff from the bot in exchange.

Such things consist of reading/writing/understanding Cybertronian, history and other subjects on the planet that isn't functionalism. Roc's penmanship definitely approved upon trying to write Orion's language. He did roll his eyes when the bot mistook his handwriting for 'clocker' scratch. (Cybertronian Chicken)

I will be drawing Roc. For holoform design, either design my own or use the TFA version. Orion Pax is participating in all the events of the main Scarlet/Violet game and Teal Mask/Indigo Disk DLC alongside my OC except for the Pokemon League. Now this is the first half of my AU explanation.

The second will delve into the Transformers side and why it's called 'Herald of Ruin'. Do know that Orion Pax is gonna be quite different from his canon counterpart throughout this. I will drive a wedge between them and see how the character can molded.

I offer an idea for your terastalisation au: Koriadon crystalising when they jump in to protect Kieran. Now they match their trainer in having tera jewels on their self, and in such proximity to Terapagos, it miiight flare up just a bit. Surely there'll be no consequences for this afterwards?

Sharing my Clavell/Turo/Sada hc/au ideas here because I can. It is partially mixed into my trainer clavell au lol, to explain Arven getting him to help hunt the titans.:

- They all met as young adults, furthering their studies at the Academy together. Picture the trio documenting Paldea's Pokemon by hand together, the intensity and detail of Turo, the loud excitement of Sada, and Clavell enjoying the moment/present.

- This leaves room for a looooooot of college shenanigans. Typically Clavell keeps out of it, but someone has to be the mature one when Sada wears down Turo's hesitance so easily lol 😂

- Eventually, they get the funding to head to area zero lab, researching and working together in close proximity. It's likely here where I'd sprinkle the romance in, though the three have been living together in close proximity for a while already so there's little difference

- Unlike the other two however, Clavell sorely missed heading back to Paldea. Turo and Sada's discussions about the scarlet violet books is met with some hesitance from Clavell, who dismisses the worry. They've been friends for a while, he knows who they are. They're not heartless, they'll listen to his reasons if he stays... right?

- Sada and Turo eventually tie the knot, and I actually like the thought that Paldea was still progressing in terms of accepting queer families. The founding of the Tera orbs is quite the pivotal moment, with a new chairwoman (Geeta), who gets shit done and changes Paldea into the idyllic paradise it is (There are a few bumps, but the gyms were only more properly set up and as enriching as they are now with her time and effort.)

- Unfortunately, the whole tension about continuing to stay in area zero despite funding pulls (Initial post tera orb discovery hype died down, and the trio weren't seeing any results, so slowly the labs become as empty as we see in present day). This strains their relationship even further, Arven being Clavell's priority and the two profs rift with him becomes something neither party attempt to mend for years. (Basically Clavell was with them for a bit, for the time machine project, but left quite quickly)

- Clavell takes up other research work above ground, being Arven's guardian. Meanwhile Sada and Turo self fund their research, holes up in the crater. Unfortunately, and this will become her greatest regret in present time, Geeta overlooks the profs unsupervised research project, operating under the guise of researching crystals to further tera orb capabilities+ supplying with more crystals. Geeta first hears about the time machine only in present day.

- Fast forward to present day, Clavell takes up the director's position at the Academy. Arven has a decent childhood actually, but his curiousity for his biological parents burns. So during one fateful treasure hunt gone wrong, Mabosstiff is injured, and Clavell is eventually recruited to help hunt titans.

- The other shenanigans involving MC are dealt with as Clive Lol. I'll leave that to your imagination.

- The professors actually both tragically die in their experiments. The first in an experiment gone wrong, the second by the dangerous miraidon/Koraidon. The second continued their work, devastated by their loneliness, falling even further to their obsession with the machine.

- Clavell and co eventually face off the AI replicas of people he once cared for a lot, Arven actively denounces them as his parents, and overall, everyone has someone to count on to heal and move on. jfdhsiw idk. 😂

TLDR I like these three pretty people, beyond mushing them together, the angst and proceeding bittersweet resolution is so good. Turo represents the future, Sada represents the past, Clavell represents the present. The end moral of the story is that living in the moment is key, surrounded by that which you treasure.

Paldea League explanation time

Might as well go into an explanation ramble about my picks for the Paldean league here! I did on AO3 but gonna mostly crosspost this here cause I feel like it.

Katy - grizzly bear This is a pretty obvious one. Considering she has a bug tera Teddiursa/Ursaring (because bears are often depicted as honey lovers in media), it makes sense why I'd make her a bear. Katy's also like a sweet momma bear in terms of her personality (not unlike another trainer here in Paldea, who is also a momma bear in terms of her personality, but more formidable, in this AU).

Brassius - serval I was just gonna make him an ocelot (because jungle cat) when he was first revealed in the trailer, but I kinda eventually wanted to make him part serval too, because servals have cute ears that I wanted to draw. Then I didn't really think he looked like a ocelot anymore, so I just made him a regular serval (yes, I'm aware servals are from the savannah, not the jungle/rainforest). He also jumped down from a windmill on his feet, hence the saying a cat always lands on its feet.

Iono - ragamuffin calico cat Iono just screams "cat girl" energy to me. Originally drew her as a pale orange and white cat, but I hated the design I did. So I went with a dilute calico to match her two toned hair, with one side of her fur being gray and the other half being pale orange. I also realized I unintentionally made a pun on cation.

Kofu - walrus Was gonna make him a hybrid between a walrus and a sea otter but last second, I just made him a walrus because the ears looked weird. I kinda went a bit half baked on the thought process of this, but I think he'd be a jolly old walrus, even if walruses are pretty territorial in real life. Also, first time I've drawn a walrus.

Larry - gray wolf Furry analysis thing. Wolves are like one of the most (if not the most) common species for a fursona. Larry may be a basic salaryman, but we all love him for that. Gave Larry some rather basic markings (gray fur, light gray markings on the snout, limbs, stomach and ear insides, and a black tipped tail; I know adult wolves don't have blue eyes but it's not uncommon to see wolf fursonas with blue eyes) for an average wolf to go with his theme. Larry's also almost always hungry, so I could say he's hungry like a wolf. Another point I initially forgot to add is that Larry's really popular among Pokemon fans, reminds me of how the furry fandom just goes bonkers whenever the media releases a new wolf character (*looks over at Legoshi, Mr. Wolf, and Death*).

Ryme - red fox So, this is a slight headcanon-ish thing that I've "dropped"/"forgotten about". Fox Ryme still works, cause she has a Houndstone, the fox and the Houndstone. I just think she'd be a fox, it just comes naturally to me (the urge to add a fox every time).

Tulip - leopard Okay so this is a questionable one. When I first saw Tulip's design, she instantly reminded me of Clawroline from Kirby and the Forgotten Land and I can't really shake that off, which is the reason why she looks like Clawroline in my AU. Also, the area around Alfornada is kinda like a savannah, and Tulip does have an Espartha on her team, which is technically an ostrich, another savannah animal.

Grusha - siberian husky Again, a pretty obvious one. All the ice type specialists (that I know of) in this Pokemon AU are all animals that originate from/inhabit places from, yet it took me this long to make an ice type specialist a husky in my AU. Also, those icy blue eyes of his are too hard to pass for a husky.

Rika - egyptian mau/sand cat mix This was a neat design to do. This design was pulled out randomly because I do have this headcanon that she's Falkner's older cousin (Falkner in this AU is an egyptian mau cat). She's also part sand cat to tie in with her being a ground type specialist. She mostly just looks your average spotted tabby though.

Poppy - raccoon When I saw her, I was instantly like "OMG, she's so adorable, she's my favourite character in this game" (no matter what everyone else says). Raccoons are my second favourite animal, but I didn't really think Poppy's design would translate well into a fox, so I went with a raccoon instantly because of her silver clothing and black hair gave off raccoon fur vibes. Raccoons allegedly like shiny objects, and Poppy has a giant key around her neck, so a perfect match. I could really just go on about this design choice, but I'd rather not make it too long or too deep. I didn't initially notice this at first but I found out that Poppy's giant key is actually a purse that she stores candy in, raccoons for sure have a sweet tooth as well.

Hassel - st bernard/golden retriever mix His hair colour reminds of a golden retriever but his face kinda reminds me of a st bernard. I'd definitely imagine a happy Hassel to be a blubbering and slobbering dog (st bernards drool a lot) in my AU, and I'd say both breeds would match him nicely.

Geeta - bobtail tortoiseshell cat I was gonna make her a bombay (black) cat initially, but I chose a tortoiseshell last minute, I'm not sure why, probably just to try and match her design more, I don't know to be honest. I eventually thought of the bobtail since I like the idea of Iono, Rika and Geeta being the three cats of the Paldea league (cause Brassius and Tulip aren't domestic cats), and them having a different vibe to them, with Iono being fluffy with a bushy tail, Rika being sleeker with a sleek tail, and Geeta kinda being inbetween with a cute little bobtail.

Here they are :) Cristiano is on the left with the wavier hair and swoops, and Cristina has the bob(?) i like to think in this au(im making it an au lol) they literally dont even interact with the MC lol if they did, i dont even think they’d reference Katy or Larry being their parents but they would mention their parents both being league members, not saying specifically gym leaders or elite four member whatsoever. Just. League member. At first I didnt want their casual clothes to be so plain like that, but then I really looked at both Larry and Katy and neither really gave me the impression that they regularly wear exciting clothing and that may have rubbed off on the kids. But I did use their work clothes colors to make the twins’ clothes. As you can see, they do take after Katy way more than Larry appearance wise. I couldnt decide on their hair color which is why I went for the split between both of their hair colors instead. Since they take more after Katy anyway, I thought it was fitting that they kind of stood out in the same manner as she did.

Cristina is mostly focusing on school, but kind of hating it. Shes not super motivated by the work, but then again who is really? Shes just procrastinating her treasure hunt, she doesnt know what she wants to do or accomplish so she isnt sure where to start. She is 10 so Larry assures her that there really isnt a need to put a rush on it. She does like the outdoors, but mainly for the fresh air and the nice shade. She isnt a runner or anything like that. She and her Hoppip, Holly, are more like friends than battle partners and theyre both pretty content with it.

Cristiano, however, is doing his treasure hunt. Hes challenging the gyms, but doesnt have the intention to take on the elite four. Battling isnt his thing, but it is Lime’s, his Heracross. So hes making it a point to bond with his pokemon partner more for his treasure! Learn about what makes Lime so happy and motivated, yknow? I think hes more into history class or culinary. Culinary is familiar, it reminds him of his mom. And he just likes how Raifort makes history fun to learn about.

Cristina likes to go at her own pace, which is typically slow. While Cristiano is more at an average pace, just not slow, not fast. He doesnt rush himself.

When Cristiano gets to Katy in the gym challenge, he kind of makes her promise not to go easy. And then promptly got his ass handed to him by his own mother. When he did finally pass after four tries, he moved his way up to Larry, where they had scramble for a different challenge because he was honest when he said he already knew the riddle because his dad falls asleep with his laptop open a lot. That and its an easy riddle if you really know the guy. His challenge ended up just being to fight the other trainers and to give them both the same last piece of the riddle just to make things a little more fair. When he did finally get to battle Larry, he once again got his ass handed to him, specifically by Staraptor. He did beat him on his second try though, he just had to think of a better strategy and learn how to use his other two partners’ abilities better.

I know I listed their tera types, but neither twin have tera orbs (yet). These are in fact their official tera types though.

Their relationship with their parents are pretty average Id say. They work a lot, but its never really been much of a problem. Although they both would much rather do things separately and often on their own, they had always had each other. Still tho, Cristina is totally daddy’s girl. She likes hanging around with Larry because he gets it, he gets her preference for silence and lazy, no effort days. And Cristiano likes hanging around his mom because he gets to be the #1 taste tester. But overall, they both love their parents a whole lot. And yes, Giacomo is their older (half) brother! Giacomo likes having younger siblings. He was excited when he was told he was gonna be a big brother. They three of them dont have much in common enough to really hang out much, especially since the twins arent fans of the same music as him, but they make it work. Giacomo, pre starfall, does tell the others that his siblings are not to be scouted out. They were too young to get wrapped up into it and certainly too good to get into trouble with the school staff.

What timeframe is Paradoxal Hope set?: This AU is set 150 years after the events of Pokémon Violet (or scarlet, doesn't matter much). In this world, a company known as Shardlife Corporation, or ShardCo., rules over the world and its government, which is now called "The United Poké-Regions," or the UPR.

What is 'Shardlife Corporation,'?: After the events of Era Violet (what it's called in-AU), a war occurred where a race to harness the Tera Shards within Area Zero caused mass uproar and unrest, and many corporations and companies raced to be the first ones to figure out how to use the power. Gregory Bailey, the founder of Shardlife, discovered many different properties for the shards, even a way to end the war that raged within area zero. Today, Area Zero is heavily guarded by drones and soldiers, and anyone caught trying to sneak in will be executed, according to rumor. No one really knows how they ended the war, many theories were created, but none confirmed nor denied.

What are some conflicts in this AU?: Man versus Nature, Man versus Technology, Society versus Technology, Society versus Corporations.

What pokémon are present in this world?: Some paradoxal fakemon exist, however they have OC names and descriptions. I'm unsure if they actually exist or were created by other creators; because to tell you the honest truth I don't actually view a lot of other creators stuff. I see things in passing at times, but it's not like I go out and seek it. It's not my thing. That said, if I do accidentally copy someone, let me know so I can change it or at the very least ask them to review it to see their thoughts on the subject.

What's the deal with fallers?: This world is heavy on multiverses. In this world, that means multi fandom universes. Anyone from any universe is welcome within this one, however humanoid creatures will be fully human and fit the human society and world of this one, and those who appear as creatures become Pokémon with their own typing based on Canon types (or you can make one up idc get creative). For example, one of my friends/rp partners has an illager oc that turned into a pokémon. This is because illagers & villagers, and creatures like them, turn into pokémon within this world, and players (like the Steve dude) turn into trainers/humans respectively. Fursonas would turn into Pokéhuman hybrid type creatures. The point is, you wouldn't look at all how you did in your world and you would turn into whatever would suit you best in this worlds au. If you need help with creating a starter or making an oc for this au, do not hesitate to ask questions or dm me!

What is the genre, theme and/or aesthetic of the AU?: The theme explores how corporate influence on an otherwise natural world can corrupt the natural balance. The future Paradox Pokémon in violet gave me inspiration to create this AU, to explain in my own thoughts and headcanon essentially, how Paradox Pokémon came to be. This AU touches heavily on the idea of a Holocene Extinction, which pretty much is the concept where human activity has caused many of our natural Flora and fauna to go extinct, causing food drought, civil unrest, and more. In this world, drones & heavily armed soldiers exist. In a way, it mixes elements of cyberpunk 2077 with Pokémon, turning it into a rated T-M for teen-mature story-arc that involves a lot of conversation about environmental destruction, technology consumption, and more.

What is Eden?: Eden is the main protagonist team founded by faller!turo 15 years prior to the set of the story. Eserine joined the group at 18 years old after her family abandoned her for undisclosed reasons (may be revealed in roleplays). She doesn't talk much about her life before, but it is unusual how she seems to be vastly educated in sciences and technology. She spends hours each day tinkering with computers and Lab equipment, creating new inventions in the process. At age 20, she developed the Musharna Machine, a way that feeds Musharna good dreams through people or pokémon using its mist, that can also study and research anomalies and strange objects. Eden's goal is to return the pokémon world to its former, natural state; where people coincided with pokémon instead of attempting to harness and rule their energy and power often to the brink of extinction. Eden does secret research, creates groundbreaking technology, and has branches all over the world.
