Is there loustat content in tale of the body theif?

Hi there. You bet there is! As a matter of fact, after reading the chronicles from The Vampire Lestat through part of Memnoch the Devil again, I’d say that Tale of the Body Thief probably has the greatest number of and most intense loustat moments of any of the chronicles, except for maybe IWTV, (which I admit I haven’t re-read for some time.)

In the beginning and towards the end of Body Thief Lestat emotes a lot over Louis for no reason in particular, saying things like “His beauty has always maddened me. I think I idealize him in my mind when I’m not with him; but then when I see him again I’m overcome.” 

They also have a full-blown lovers quarrel and Louis says things like “Sometimes you frighten me so badly I hurl sticks and stones at you. It’s foolish. I’m glad to see you, though I dread admitting it…I can’t bear the thought of existence now without you!

Anyways yes. The answer to your question is yes.

How would Wade and t'challa interact if they were dating?

I imagine they’d be a very unconventional couple and that’s what is special about their relationship. Wade would hide behind his insecurities and joke about everything and T’Challa the ever patient boyfriend would see behind that and not hold that against him. It would bother him at first but he’d understand that it’s just how Wade copes with everything. He’d just be there for Wade and sometimes it’d be really challenging because Wade’s antics and self-destructing nature would always be a stepping ground in their relationship. And T’Challa’s honorable (is that the right word) nature would clash very badly with that.

So I supposed a typical interaction between them would be normal or as normal as it could get with Wade in the picture. Wade would joke about everything but every now and then when Wade feels it’s okay to open up, he’d let T’Challa in and they would just be two people just talking - no facades. They’d be just T’Challa and Wade - not simply a King or the Merc with the Mouth. And T’Challa would eventually loosen up and at times (not that he’d ever admit) he’d would secretly smile whenever Wade is doing his thing.

All in all I think they’d bring out the best out of each other but it’d take very long to get to that place because they’re both oh, so very different, not to mention they come from different backgrounds. But once all of that’s out of the place, they would exist beautifully together, well, when Wade is willing to let T’Challa in.

I’m so sorry about the late reply. Honestly I’ve heard similar crap but I just stay quiet about it, since I’m closeted too and have anxiety around that. It’s rough to keep quiet about that type of thing though, especially when they’re blatantly ignorant and wrong. I also hate to tell people to just endure something too though. Unfortunately with all the time I’ve had to think about it I don’t know a good response myself besides “generic” ones. Stuff like asking why they feel that way or why it even matters to them to begin with.With the fact that you’re closeted though, it might just be the best thing to be quiet to not stir up any problems for yourself, and I really hate to say that. However I’d suggest maybe talking about it to friends/family that you can trust to vent about it. It sucks holding that stuff in.I may not be good at giving advice lol, but I’m always here to listen and read a rant or two if it’d make you feel any better to write things down.

Happy Birthday to @usefulrein , one of the first people I talked to on Tumblr. She has always been nice and helpful to me when I needed it. She has helped me with so many fics and we always write incredible prompts/fics/ideas etc. every day. I hope you enjoy this!!! 🖤🖤

“No...uh, you’re so stupid!” Shuri laughs. Erik walks past minding his own business, but it’s only a matter of time before his curiosity leads his ears to Shuri’s door. For some reason, she never has the time to show Erik her new inventions and claims it’s due to her working on them constantly. But this sounds like a secret reason. Erik’s ears open wider and he identifies her giggles like how he laughs at the jokes men tell him. It takes him a few seconds but then he puts it together – Shuri's in love. He eavesdrops for a few minutes and frowns and his lack of ability to interpret what’s being said. “Hey, could you give me a second? I just need to get something...”

Erik wonders what it is until he looks in to see and gets planted in the face with a pillow. It brings him to the floor and Shuri approaches him with crossed arms.  

“N’Jadaka! What have I told you about eavesdropping?”

Erik scratches the top of his head and scrunches his face in confusion.

“Nothing?”

“Exactly! You are a grown man, I should not have to tell you not to do it!” Shuri exclaims. T’Challa notices the commotion and opens his door, finding Erik on the floor and Shuri hitting Erik with a pillow.

“What is going on here?”

He puts himself between his sister and his cousin and gives a look that tells both of them he will not ask again.

“Shuri’s got a girlfriend!” Erik shouts and T’Challa intercepts her attempt to hit him again.    

“Is this true?” T’Challa asks and Shuri notices how his frustration turns to humored curiosity.

The teen tries to walk away but T’Challa grabs her and pulls her in for a hug, which he knows she hates. Or at least when other people know about it.

“Quick N’Jadaka!” T’Challa laughs and Erik takes the photo, also laughing. They high-five each other before Erik avoids her reaching hands and she groans.

“Cousin! Brother! This is not fair!” She yells and they laugh as they look at the photo.

“Tell us her name and we will. Otherwise it’s going on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, the works...”

“You don’t even have those!”

“Ah but Erik does...” T’Challa grins. Shuri scoffs and nods, much to the satisfaction of the older boys.

“Her name is N’Zami, and I invited her to the palace, she should be here soon. I was going to sneak her in but you nosy idiots intervened...”

T’Challa grins and so does Erik.  

“My little sister isn’t so little anymore...she has a girlfriend now!” T’Challa smiles. They both hug Shuri and she breaks away, batting their hands away.

“Get off! Uhh...why are you two so embarrassing?”  

Erik opens his mouth to answer when a girl the same height as Shuri walks in. She seems lost but not as if it’s her first time here, but as if she’s forgotten the way. Her afro is full of life and natural, and her smile seems to leave Shuri a grinning mess.  

“H-Hey...” Shuri giggles and T’Challa smirks, Erik just covers his smiling face.

“This must be N’Zami...my sister cannot stop talking about you-” T’Challa says.

“-or to you...-” Erik mumbles. T’Challa shakes her hand and so does Erik. “So you like my lil cousin huh? Don’t plan on hurting her...”

N’Zami laughs and Shuri finds her laugh so cute.

“I do not intend to. And never will. But your little ‘tough guy’ act is adorable, I’m sure that it will work one day...”

She leaves Erik speechless and T’Challa laughing in his face.

“It was nice to meet you,” she smiles, approaching Shuri and kissing her on the cheek. Shuri giggles and looks at them.  

“See you later,” Shuri says, walking back into her room with her girlfriend and she closes the door behind her. T’Challa looks forward to meeting Shuri’s girlfriend again. Erik, not so much.
