Smokin’ Sweet BBQ Crab Chips Kettle Chips from Utz

I had the non-kettle crab seasoning Utz last year (ish) and they were so fucking salty and I absolutely loved them. My only complaint was they were regular and not Kettle. So I was cautiously excited to try these. They definitely are quite sweet, which I don’t loooove, but it’s balanced well with the salty and very mildly spicy crab seasoning. Oddly addicting.

Dangerous stuff! I am going to have to try this recipe for GF pretzel dough.

Using my own flour blend, since theirs that the recipe is calling for only seems to be available in Finland. (Where Swedish is a minority and second official language, for historical reasons.) The link trying to sell it does list the ingredients and rough proportions, though.

I never made my own pretzels out of any kind of flour, and if is more labor intensive than I necessarily want to do. But, pretzels!

There are the Schär mini pretzels. I was getting those basically whenever I saw them when we were still in the UK. But, I like the idea of different sizes/shapes, and not having my snacks made almost entirely out of corn starch. I also really miss being able to get ones more like the big Utz Pretzel Rods.

In the more labor-intensive homemade snack foods department, I also keep meaning to get around to making cheese crackers like Cheez-Its. Haven't had anything quite like that in years, and they're not supposed to be that hard to make other than the whole rolling and cutting bit. Just need some decent cheese, and probably an afternoon.

Maui BBQ Kettle Chips from Utz

I don’t normally like BBQ flavor because it’s too sweet for a chip for my taste, but these are both sweet and tangy/sour so I enjoyed them! They do taste a lot like sweet & sour sauce actually. Still more sweet than I’d prefer, but a good balance overall. Good crunch and saltiness as well.
