I really love your drawings. Me and my sister are playing vespria together. She plays Yuri and I play Rita. It's to the point now where I've got all of Rita's spell commands memorized. She can just point to me and say "give me a fire spell". And I'll bust out with the whole "oh incandescent locust, ANNIHILATE THE VULGAR BEFORE ME! ... Spiral Flare"

It's really fun, but our parents think it's strange.

My ultimate fear for like the longest time was that Falen was pulling the long con and would ultimately end up betraying the Guardians. I'm pretty sure we're past the point where that idea can be viable, but now I'm scared that Falen is going to be forced to betray the Guardians by Rayel just because he really doesn't want to.

I know that probably can't happen because he is only compelled to betray people 'who deserve it' now but who decides who deserves it??? Falen? Rayel?

I know Rayel has ultimate control over it, as all Forces have control over Gods, but I have a little theory that Falen is influenced by the opinions of the people around him as well.

Like when he murdered Vespria. No one in the army really cared. People knew Vespria was not a good leader, they wanted him gone. I mean, Falen had more power to ignore the tattoo's instructions when the Guardians prayed to him, so I think that it would make sense.

Putting that aside, my idea about Falen being forced to betray the Guardians is this: I think at some point Falen described the relationship between Rayel and Torva was weird. Different from the other Forces and their Gods. Like it's a game. Like it's a push and pull between Rayel and Torva. What if Rayel is just as invested in the game as Torva is?

I know Forces are supposed to be impartial and stuff, but Rayel seems like, more involved than the other Forces, I guess? We have seen their explicit influence on Falen when they forced Falen to leave Corbin hanging on a high five. So what is Rayel forces Falen to flip-flop between betraying the Guardian’s and Torva to prolong the game? To make Torva struggle for longer?

Clueless Slake and Maeri are choice as always accompanied by the imagery of holding hands and emitting a golden glow,, perfect

We been knew that Slake has no magic but that makes me wonder if they will ever gain magic from one of the fighter paths or divine blessing? I think either magic or magicless Slake is an interesting path

Oho! As of today, I’ve been using The Backloggery for eleven years, apparently. I’m not doing so hot with my “beat significantly more games than I obtain” new years resolution, as you can see from me being poisoned... In my defense, I had a limited window in which I could combine two coupons and get Tales of Vespria: Definitive Edition for under five dollers, I received Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a gift, and Baba Is You was just... calling to me.

As for why I haven’t been beating many games, it’s because I tend to reach an impasse in a game, but refuse to start a new one. I’m “currently playing” Rune Factory 4, because I’m lost on what to do and refuse to look up a guide. There’s a point in the game where it gives you a fake out ending, your character saves the day but is left stranded in a void while the credits start to roll. Haha, just kidding, your dragon friend saves you... and the real(?) credits roll. Spoilers.

Which is really weird, considering I’d reached this point before the end of summer, and for obvious reasons the stories in farming games like to show you at least a full year. There’s clearly more to the game, much more: I’ve unlocked crafting recipes that require materials that don’t exist anywhere I’ve been, and there are major, back-of-the-box features that I haven’t even encountered yet.

If I had to guess, I’d say that I’d reached the end of the first of three acts... and then, nothing. Something needs to happen to trigger the next phase of the game, but I played through a few in-game weeks without running into it, then was busy enough that I didn’t have a chance to play for a while... and now it’s been like three months. Y’know what? Screw it, I’m gonna look up what to do.

Oh. Uh. So apparently, all I have to do is... leave town, through the south gate, and it will trigger a cutscene. Now, IN MY DEFENSE, everywhere worth going, including the areas just south of town, it’s easiest to reach by going to the airship to the north. Welp, guess I know what to do when I resume playing.
