The pain... the utter, agonizing pain. It haunts me. You can see Callum as he sees it all go down. He's in shock, not knowing what's going on.

(Heck, I don't think he's ever heard her scream in so much pain, and it terrifies and thrills me. Listen, I'm a sucker for angst. Entirely all in for angsty times, but this? This scared me.)

He's in shock, and it's silent except for her agonizing screams of pain. Even the other people on the ship are quiet, stunned even though they've probably seen and heard it before. It's still terrifying, and Rayla is feeling all of it as her friends watch.

Then it hits him, and he runs to her, dark magic, choices, all of that doesn't matter. Because all that's on his mind is Rayla and Finnegrin sees it as an opportunity.

She's in pain, and he grabs her face, looking at her with worry as she looks pained. She's suffering.

Seeing the pain she's in, everything else around him fades.

Even as Finnegrin talks, Callum is solely focused on Rayla. Nothing else but Rayla. She's in pain. He turns to a rage like none other.

Pissed off, done with it. He's gotten beaten, but that means nothing to him in comparison to what Rayla is going through.

Grabbing the source of her pain, ready to fight with no questions asked. Finnegrin knew that was a weakness from the looks of it, but even this coming from a Mage is stunning.

Until Elmer grabs him back, and even then, Callum is ready to fight regardless of whatever is holding him back. Gripping onto something of Finnegrin's so he can still fight.

(Honestly, I feel like one dead horse equals one Callum punch.)

His face screamed with a fury like none other. He's going to let the source of her pain not get away with it so easily. He won't let Finnegrin enjoy seeing her suffer.
