Finally Finished the PARALOUSE line, even expanded it a little
Im trying a new format here, do you like it this way or do you prefer the old one?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like this, without the Dex information in the pic (Shiny versions as example)
PARALOUSE is based on the tongue-eating louse (Cymothoa exigua) who gets inside the mouth of fish and replaces their tongues
Tumblr media
PARALOUSE can evolve by taking over one of 2 pokemon, either SQUAKER, a parrotfish pokemon, or AGUAVEILA, a jellyfish pokemon
SQUAKER is based on the Steephead Parrotfish, its regular colors are based on the Scarlet Macaw and its shiny colors are based on the Galah Cockatoo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AGUAVEILA is based on the Deepstaria Enigmatica, a type of jellyfish known to form simbiotic relationships with a type of isopod
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When paired with SQUAKER, PARALAOUSE will evolve into PARASCYLLA, this pokemon is based on mermaids and the greek monster Scylla, a creature with the upper body of a woman but a lower body comprised of heads and tails
Tumblr media
If paired with AGUAVEILA, PARALOUSE will evolve into PARANYGMA, this pokemon is based in many legends of ghost brides who died at sea
SQUAQUER alone evolves into PARROTEER, they are PARASCYLLA's natura predator and are based on the Humphead Parrotfish mixed with pirates, its regular colors are based on the Dracula Parrot while its shiny colors are based on the Blue and Gold Macaw
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AGUAVEILA alone evolves into AEROVELLA, this pokemon is based on the Atmospheric Jellyfish, a type of cryptid

These are some sprites I made a few years ago. They are absed on these drawings by @darksilvania. The frame around them is a recolored version of this one by SupersonicGX.
Feedback is greatly appreciated.

With Scarlet and Violet right around the corner (and less than a day away! Can you believe it?) I went back to the Fakemon project I started at the beginning of this year. It was a major passion project, and is still being worked on to this day. I currently have no intention of making a game out of them, so it’s more likely to someday become a video series once I can either fix or purchase a new microphone. And if you’re wondering about the style change between the first one and the other two, it was simply me saying ‘screw it’ and using my usual simple shading instead of trying to mimic the official art. Regardless, here are your starters of the Orzak region and their full evolution lines.
Orchili (from Trochiliformes and Orchids), the Hummer Pokemon. Grass type. Overgrow/Honey Gather (HA). Orchili are often found nestled in large groups of flowers. Their ruffs will later produce differing blooms based on where they were born.
Passylph (from Passiflora and Sylph, a type of hummingbird), the Flightful Pokemon. Grass. Overgrow/Honey Gather (HA). Passylph’s wings are said to beat at 100 beats per minute. Their loud buzzing is said to deter other grass types.
Huitziflora (from Huitzil and Flora), the Flowereater Pokemon. Grass/Dragon. Overgrow/Flower Gift (HA). Its flowers have grown to mimic the flowers in its territory. They battle fiercely with each other for mates.
Huitziflora’s flower colors vary depending on if it was born in the North, East, South, or West of the region. The pink, blue, and white colors are those of the Southern region.
Bumblaze (from Bumble and Blaze), the Bumble Pokemon. Fire/Bug type. Blaze/Levitate (HA). Its flames burn with a mysterious substance that it leaves behind when it flies. Forest fires are common where these pokemon nest.
Bombug (from Bomb and Bug), the Waxweld Pokemon. Fire/Bug. Blaze/Levitate (HA). It carries around a ball of wax it drops onto its foes to slow them down, then cooks their food using the flames it lights with its antennae.
Imobuzation (from Immolation and Buzz), the Waxweld Pokemon. Fire/Poison. Blaze/Levitate (HA). Its stingers are known to freeze its opponents with its waxy venom. It then stores its prey underground for its young to feed on.
Imobuzation’s smoke color differs depending on the region it evolves in. The dark purple smoke colors are those of the Southern region.
Puppaddle (From pup and paddle), the Bobbing Pokemon. Water type. Torrent/Ball Fetch (HA). A friendly Pokemon, Puppaddle are often seen as the companion to the elderly and the disabled due to its smarts, but it is also popular with hunters for its tracking abilities.
Goldifloat (from golden, float, and goldies, a nickname for golden retrievers), the Sporting Pokemon. Water. Torrent/Ball Fetch (HA). The rings around its body expand when it finds someone who needs help. While most often this is used to help drowning humans and Pokemon, its rings also have some healing abilities.
Fertriever (from Ferry and Retriever), the Ferry Pokemon. Water/Fairy. Torrent/Defiant (HA). Fertriever is known to carry large amounts of Pokemon and people across the water at a time. It likes to push itself to do its best, no matter the odds, to save people.
Fertriever’s yellow and orange coloration may actually be different depending on where in the region it evolves in. The yellow and orange are those of the Southern region.
And there we have it! I’ll probably be plopping these suckers in batch of 3 pictures going forward as I readjust the Pokedex for the new Scarlet and Violet additions, new megas, and a possible new ‘gimmick’. (Ironically, I chose Past vs Future for this project, before Scarlet and Violet was announced. Although in this case it’s more Tradition vs Innovation.)

Waiting Goddess
A maiden meets a young man, young and curious She spends her time with him without realizing over time, she fell
A promise they made to wait at the mountain
Eons and centuries past, where is the promise
The maiden over hears new from the near village The young man has passed long ago
"Who have I been waiting for"
The maiden weeps bitter tears after knowing the horrible truth
She weeps a waterfall that elegantly flows as a river below
She has an optimistic way of perceiving life
"Why did I think we'd last forever"
She holds on to a false imagination that she may meet him again
With that the waterfall she wept became a source of healing though only if the one who enters it holds a charm made by the maiden herself
Inspired by the Goddess Of the mountain Story

Reefeon (Water/Rock)
On rare occasion, an Eevee can be affected by more than one environmental factor, and reacts to grow into a new, rare evolution. Reefeon, Water/Rock Eeveelutions, inhabit warm, shallow, tropical waters, predominantly in the pristine southern seas alongside colonies of Corsola. Thriving on a diet enriched with minerals from ocean rocks and sand, Reefeon develop rocky, coral-like growths on their bodies, with the unique coral formations on each individual reflecting their distinct diet and health status. Their coral reefs often become places of refuge for smaller fish Pokémon, who take shelter in the coral and are shielded from larger predators. As long as the individual is in good health, broken coral will be regenerated within days and additional coral can be grown quickly in emergencies, such as during battles. Pieces of broken coral are valuable to collectors and Trainers alike, and can be presented to domesticated Eevee in the hope of inducing evolution into this Water/Rock type. Featuring a lengthy and robust tail, Reefeon wield formidable, long-range attacks against their opponents. They leverage the prehensile appendage to latch onto substantial seaweed and rock formations, anchoring themselves securely during periods of rest.

DULABRAY (Dúlamán/Mudbray/Bray) & DULADALE (Dúlamán/Mudsdale/Dale) (water/grass)
A convergent evolution of MUDBRAY & MUDSDALE based on kelpies and kelp. Their shiny is based on white kelpie, red kelp, and the “red tide” of algae blooms.

The Hybrid Fossils
This "fossils" pokemon are not revived from bones, but rather they are cloned from prehistoric blood samples, recovered from another fossil pokemon
Tumblr media
This ancient Bug/Rock pokemon can be found and revived, to extract blood samples with which you can re-create the ancient pokemons, however, the blood samples recovered from the mosquito are usually deteriorated and to create a complete DNA sequence you will need to mix 2 samples. There are 4 diferente Blood samples: Mammal (Ice), Reptile (dragon), Bird (Rock) and Fish (Water)
Mammal/Reptile becomes Ice/Dragon, it is based on the inostrancevia alexandri the largest species of Gorgonopsid
Tumblr media
Mammal/Bird becomes Ice/Rock, it is based on the Aepyornis maximus known as the "Elephant Bird", the largest terrestrial bird that ever existed
Tumblr media
Fish/Reptile becomes Water/Dragon, it is basd on the shastasaurus sikanniensis, the largestest species of Ichtyosaurus
Tumblr media
Fish/Bird becomes Water/Rock, it is based on the Palaeeudyptes klekowskii, the largest penguin to ever live
Tumblr media
The man in charge of this experiment of prehistoric splicing is Professor Marrow, an expert on "Paleogenetic" and the one who discovered the whole process
Tumblr media
Professor Marrow is based on a mix of John Hammond from "Jurassic Park" and Dr. Moreau from "The island of Dr. Moreau"

After working on them for years, I finally have settled on the final starter evos for my Okeno dex! Yipee! I decided to try making full design sheets for them. It's such a fun exercise to really hone in on the details and making sure the design works from different perspectives. Getting the details to be all "on-model" throughout them is also very rewarding, I hope I did a good enough job! Batornado is Grass/Dark the Salamander is currently unnamed, and it is Fire/Poison Vinagruff is Water/Rock You'll be able to see more of them, dex entries, movepools and such on pokengine!
