So this was originally supposed to have a kickass artwork of the bros using the power- up and stuff but then I got sick and then I realised Im out of time and here we are so uh hieee everyone and welcome to my post-
Tumblr media
Happy MAR10 Day! For the occasion, let's go back to the (not discussed in a long time) Power-Up headcanons. This time I'll focus on the Ice Flower (most of the lore under cut like last time)!
This was surprisingly requested by some (3) people. I'm going to be honest, I barely remembered this one at first. I kinda know how it looks and generally what it does, which will have to be enough to base this entire thing on. With that being said, I did some thinking and here's what I've got:
General headcanons;
This one has difficulty surviving outside of it's original environment. If you want to keep a batch in the house your best bet is to use the fridge/freezer, otherwise it looses both it's blue look and the stored energy. See, the Ice Flower originally wasn't (and still technically isn't) it's own flower species. Let me elaborate:
Nowadays the conditions there are not as harsh, however a rather long time ago travelers heading towards places like the Snow Mountain needed to be both be specially trained and very well equipped to even attempt a climb. A heat source was a big must, and it so happens that it often consisted of Fire Flowers. They'd put some in their coats to keep warm, as well as store a few in the backpack just in case they needed to protect themselves from monsters. When setting camp during their journeys these hikers would use the Power-Ups energy to start fires and cook food. After the flowers were depleted of their energy and entered their hibernation stage (I talked about it in my Fire Flower post), they would be simply thrown away like trash. Waiting for them to recharge was often not beneficial, especially in conditions like this, so there was ultimately no point in keeping them. However like I mentioned before, Fire Flowers are very adaptable, which actually wasn't that known at the time. Instead of wilting, these stubborn plants would try gathering energy like the usual, but since it was very cold and direct sunlight was limited, they decided to collect something else. While not all flowers made it, a few managed to amass the eminating frost and turn it into a new kind of energy which proved to be enough for their survival. With time even their petal colour changed to blueish hues. And thus the Fire Flowers in the area became Ice Flowers and over the years started populating the mountains and snowfields.
The Ice Flower is a multiple use Power-Up in theory but more often than not you'll find yourself without a place to freeze it after using one. If it's not placed in a cold environment during it's hibernation it'll either die or, more uncommonly, simply revert back to being a Fire Flower after a long process.
Mario and Luigi specific headcanons;
While the idea of being able to freeze stuff sounded cool it wasn't very fun to learn.
In Marios case imagine: you're good at something, really, REALLY good at something. Okay great, now imagine being told that your knowledge doesn't matter because now you need to do the opposite of what you've learned. Back with the theme of "elements don't mix", Mario absolutely hated how much effort he needed to put into focusing the newfound energy to barely make a tiny projectile. Even before he got the Firebrand he had enough difficulty with it, so it only got worse from there. This was one of the rare times where learning the bare basics instead of mastering a Power-Up was enough for him.
Luigi didn't really mind. The main complications came more from the vague instructions he received during training rather than his own inability. Suprisingly or not the Thunderhand didn't make this one much of a pain either, I guess anomalies attract eachother. While he doesn't consider this Power-Up as a favourite he still finds it pretty fun that he can freeze and walk on water. Did you know, he used to be pretty good at skating in high school. If you didn't he'll make sure to bring it up at a given occasion. Back to ice powers, he definitely outdoes his brother on this one, even if not by much.
There's probably one more thing I should mention. Despite the contrary belief the Ice Flower does NOT increase ones tolerance to cold temperatures. To be frank it might even decrease it by lowering the bodys natural temperature, making the chances of frostbite higher. And so, they learned it the hard way.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, this is more of a situational Power-Up. It's neither easy to find or preserve which can be annoying but despite all this it's hard to deny that it's ultimately a useful tool.
Few bonus headcanons!
I don't know how much sense I conveyed through my broken wording and less than average writing skills but it's not that shabby if I say so myself. Just like last time some details might change in the future but for now that's the general idea that I have considering the Ice Flower. Once again thank you to whoever took the time to read this!

Comfort Food
Something I love about these two scenes is that it shows just how much influence his mother has on Luigi. If he takes after anyone when it came to his parents, then his mother is whom he takes after the most. He grew up around her kindness and learning by example, grew up around their mother’s amazing cooking and knows how comforting it can be.
To Luigi, when their mom brings them food, food means comfort, food means love and warmth. Food is their mothers way of showing them her love and her affection. So when Mario leaves the table, obviously very upset and frustrated. Luigi brings him food, he takes that positive influence from his mother and extends that to Mario.
He’s not only bringing Mario food to make sure Mario eats (that’s part of it cuz Luigi is a nurturer at heart) but also because he’s trying to comfort his big brother and make him feel better, and show him that he cares about him and that he’s there for him. Which further shows how much Luigi loves Mario and how he does his best to comfort his brother anyway he can.
@pianokantzart and @multicolour-ink @jell-o101 @the-brucest-fan @roscolate since i know we all love our green bean

Heya Factual! Congrats on the 23,000! Yet another well deserved milestone earned by your hard work and dedication! Really sorry about the cold- we always seem to get sick at the worst of times! Definitely don't do anything crazy till you're 100%, but thanks for making that really cute celebration piece- you can really tell how much the factual Fam cares about you from their worried expressions...and then there's Gerald, who refuses to let his happy demeanor waver for a second! Though then again, he is still quite young- he might not even understand the concept of getting sick yet!
And on that note, at least till you're better, I definitely won't send any unnecessarily exhausting Asks like last time ( thanks for answering that so thoroughly though- that was really cool! ) and just keep it simple- and my ask today is regarding the simplest Mario enemy, the goomba!
You've mentioned them in the past as beings created by Kamek- How does he do it? How long has he been doing it? Are the goombas sentient, or just savage constructs? How many are there, in ratio to the Koopas? Did the bros have to fight through a bunch of them on their way to the castle? And do any of their variants exist, such as the micro goombas, para goombas, or giant goombas? We require the Goomba Lore!
Thank you! :DD I'm doing my best to take it easy.. I've spent most of my days recently either sleeping, sitting, or playing Pokemon Scarlet XDD that's relaxing right? Yes, I believe so-
As for Gerald, he isn't ignorant to my condition- he's actually meant to be surprisingly emotionally aware. :0 He's smiling though all this because he wants the others to be happy. And if he's calm and smiling, maybe we'll smile too.. 🥺
I was intending to draw a comic that goes into Gerald's character a bit more... But I just haven't been well enough recently to take on a project like that.. :((
And don't worry about "exhausting asks", I encourage them! :D I could really use some lengthy asks as a form of distraction to be honest.. 🥹💔
Speaking of asks, about your Goomba questions..
Well, starting with Kamek actually- I have intentions to make him a few hundred years old. Being the most powerful magikoopa there ever was supposedly.. and he's been associated with the royal Koopa family for generations.. though this idea is in canon limbo, because I'm having trouble figuring how exactly he's managed to live so long. Considering how magic works in my au.. his lengthy life span shouldn't be possible..
None the less, even though I haven't gotten that idea to fit yet- I love it so much that most of the au kinda branches off from it- <XDDD so with that established, Kamek brings Goombas to "life" using magic of course!
I was thinking that the ability animate dead/inanimate things is a very complex magic that took Kamek years to learn. And he was only finally able to master it in the last 100 years or so.
Now for the Goombas, they are not sentient for sure. They are just these little.. zombie like.. machines. They start as poisonous mushrooms and when they are "brought to life", they gain this desire and need move and attack anything that doesn't appear to be a Koopa.
As for the Koopa to Goomba ratio.. I'd say they make up 1.5/10 of the kingdoms population. They are very disposable and "easy" to make.. but they are relatively fragile creatures and take a while to grow.. plus the Goombas don't live very long. Since they uproot themselves upon being "Goomba-fied", they eventually wilt and die.. :/ so that number doesn't ever go over 1.5.
I'm sure Mario and Luigi had to squash some on the way to save Peach the first time. But it was only after her rescue that one landed a bite on Luigi..
As for their variants, the micro and Giant Goombas surly exist! Though king Goomba might not because the original brown mushrooms probably don't grow that big-
As for para-goombas.. hmm.. I know there won't be any Goombas with wings going around. But perhaps there could be a Goomba that can release airborne spores.. or at the very least can attack from afar.. that could get them the title of para-goomba! :0
I think I covered everything, I hope at least-
Thank you for the ask and interest in my au! :DDD it was a nice read and took my mind off of all my ailments for a short time 🥹💖

Is Birdo the only member of her species?
"Yes!” you confidently proclaim. “You included an image of multiple Birdos right there in the post, silly!”
I know I did! I did it on purpose, because it is relevant to the subject matter! But it does not mean all that much, ultimately. Look. Here are five Luigis.
Tumblr media
Luigi is not a species. So allow me to explain why I am reasonably confident in believing that the existence of multiple distinct Birdos has been retconned!
Tumblr media
It all started with Wave 4 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass. When Birdo was finally added to the game, her alts were named strangely! With Yoshi and Shy Guy, we had, for example, Light-blue Yoshi, and Light-blue Shy Guy. Birdo, however, gets Birdo (Light Blue)!
Tumblr media
This is how basically all the alts in Tour are named, just like our dear brother Luigi (Lederhosen). So did they lazily just port these alts over from Tour, without bothering to make the formatting consistent with what was already in 8 Deluxe? But wait! Yoshi and Shy Guy are named with their colors first in Tour, just like in 8 Deluxe! Were THOSE ones hastily ported into TOUR? What’s going on here!!!
Well, let’s look at the trends that already exist in these naming conventions!
-A character simply wearing a different outfit than usual has the name format of “Character (Descriptor)”. Example: Luigi (Lederhosen)
-A character who is in a different FORM than usual has the name format of “Form Character”. Example: Penguin Luigi
-A character who is a member of a species that has been seen in multiple colors has the name format of “Color Character”, not counting the default colors. Example: Light-blue Yoshi, Light-blue Shy Guy
One other thing of note is characters like the Koopa Freerunners and the Pit Crew Toads. These fit into both the first and third categories! For example, we have Blue Koopa (Freerunning), who is a Blue Koopa wearing a Freerunning hat, and Light-blue Toad (Pit Crew), who is a Light-blue Toad wearing a pit crew uniform.
Tumblr media
With all this established, Birdo’s conventions fit into the first category! I am inclined to believe that, if these were meant to be distinct individuals, they would be named like the Yoshis and Shy Guys, yet they are named as the same individual in different outfits. Maybe she can change her color like a chameleon, and uses it to complement whatever bow she wants to wear at the time!
The real question is why in the world they would retcon Birdo as her own species... but it is not actually that weird, to me. As awesome as it is to have an entire species of glamorous transfem dinosaurs who all share the exact same fashion sense, maybe Nintendo decided that was where they draw the Weirdness Line in Mario’s world. Birdo’s current design is very much a design for a distinct character! It’s like how Donkey Kong Junior was used in contexts where many of him appeared for a while, until he himself was removed from memory. And don’t get me started on Toadsworth! They can and will alter anything from character intricacies to the existences of entire characters, is what I am saying here.
Also, as a little Grammar Tidbit, it is entirely intentional that “Birdo (Light Blue)” and “Light-blue Yoshi” coexist, and it is not inconsistent! “Light-blue” is a compound adjective, and as a result is hyphenated if it is written before the article it describes. I have learned this purely thanks to the funny dinosaur, and now so have you!
So do you agree with my findings? How does the concept of Birdo being the only one of her kind make you feel? And how did it get this way? Maybe she just invited herself out of the dream world and established herself! Maybe she is a mutant Yoshi, not in the realistic genetics way, but the cartoon toxic waste way. Maybe she just hatched from an egg that was there one day. Whatever the case! I think she is really great.

My impressions of the Hamefura Movie
Tumblr media
I have watched the hamefura movie at the theaters in Japan 😊 (and I could also retrieve the 2 extra booklets containing the bonus novel and comics).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Below are my random impressions about the movie.
General Impressions
The movie is a speed run of the novel up to the battle against the sacred beast. They have managed to keep the crucial plot development but they had no time to dwell on the characters' feelings, nor include any event that doesn't directly relate to the plot. For example, all the scenes related to the gang have been removed. As a result, Aaqil's despair, Katarina's despair, Aaqil's growing feelings for Katarina and Aaqil's attachment to his family seem really minor compared to how they are pictured in the novel.
There are nearly no transition between events either. I wonder if the people who didn't read the novel will be able to keep up.
The speedrun aspect of the movie bothered me on my first viewing but it didn't bother me so much on the second time, probably because I stopped comparing it to the novel then.
Since the events happen so fast, Katarina and Aaqil develop differently in the movie compared to the novel.
In the movie, Aaqil feels less "pure / genuine" than in the novel, and he is also a bit sexier. In the novel, Katarina mentioned Aaqil was expressionless, but here he feels more hostile.
As for Katarina, she is way less emotional in the movie compared to the novel. She doesn't dwell too much on things, unlike in the novel where she was seriously scared about Aaqil hating her once he found out about her identity.
The moments between Aaqil and Katarina feel different compared to the novel, In the movie, the moments are more romantic, with Aaqil hugging Katarina or acting seductive with her at the end. In the novel, there is not really any romantic setting, but we can feel Aaqil and Katarina connecting on an emotional level.
The battle against the sacred beast is completely different in the movie, but I greatly enjoyed it! I especially loved that Aaqil's friends have an active role, unlike in the novel where they were just watching. The horse racing coachman's role is more meaningful in the movie, while in the novel his scene seemed random. The sequence where he drives the carriage while avoiding the sacred beast's attacks is exciting to watch! Geordo's horse's scene is beautiful (but I don't think using fire magic in a forest is a good idea...). Seeing everyone using their magic so spectacurlaly is amazing. Though Keith's earth magic seems underused. I was expecting a giant earth golem to fight the sacred beast or a high earth wall to protect everyone.
Regarding the music, it was very beautiful. I really liked the music played during sweet moments with Aaqil, or the overwhelming music during the fight against the sacred beast.
Comments About Scenes
It is nice to see a glimpse of the area where Uncle Stuart probably lives.
Pochi is so cute~
The scene where Aaqil instantly senses the sacred beast the moment Katarina meets Piyo looks cool to me.
They have included the scene about Millidiana initially furious after learning about Piyo and then accepting him. A rare Millidiana and Luigi scene.
Aaqil makes a princely smile when he meets Geordo (and Ian). In the novel, Geordo said he felt like Aaqil sounded sincere, but he seemed so fake in the movie.
The caravan leader barely appears in the movie. Which is a shame since he did so much for Katarina and Aaqil in the novel.
Aaqil and Katarina's first meeting looks cooler in the movie. Aaqil makes his falcon save Piyo from getting eaten by the tiger. It is a bit inconsistent though, since the tiger is supposed to obey Aaqil.
Aaqil's show is completely different from the novel. In the movie, he is playing some kind of musical comedy with everyone, and includes Katarina in his number. It looks very cool and flashy, with aerial sword fighting. But it feels weird to have Aaqil starring in a show since he seemed to be the kind to hide in a corner in the novel. And I don't understand why he dragged Katarina in his number 😕.
Aaqil and Katarina's moments are cute. But too quick to feel emotional.
They have included the "It is harassment, right?" scene between Keith and Geordo, up to Geordo teasing Keith because Keith is available to seduce the Mutlaq princess since he has no fiancée 😂. It has been a while since I have seen that blackhearted face on Geordo.
The Mutlaq princess is confirmed to be Qumiit under disguise.
Princess Qumiit clings REALLY close to Alan... Alan is SO flustered. And Alan exclaiming "I am saved!" when the servant announces Mary's visit... It is so cute. But I still have no idea why Qumiit needed to pretend he wanted to marry a prince.
Sophia is needed to have Katarina dream about the game, but the encounter between Katarina and Sophia feels so random in the movie.
I wonder if Monkey Girl had the same voice as Katarina in the anime? It felt weird to me during the movie.
It is nice to see Adult Aaqil in the game. And the heroine is Maria with a different hairstyle.
The scene where Aaqil realizes Katarina's true identity lacks some impact. There was so much build up in the novel. Also, I can't believe Katarina chases Aaqil right after while shouting "I  am going to the toilets!" to a confused Geordo.
Aaqil decides to steal the sacred beast on the night of the welcome party instead of the day after. So much happens in one night... I also feels sad that Aaqil disregarded Katarina's warning and did the opposite of what he did in the novel.
Qumiit reveals to everyone he was the princess. Alan's face is priceless!
Sora only appears to tell Aaqil that he senses dark magic from the sacred beast, and then contacts Raphael. That's it.
Aaqil rides the sacred beast while it is flying away. Katarina and Aaqil's friends pursue the sacred beast by carriage (driven by the horse racing coachman). The sacred beast pursuit scene was really exciting to watch and Aaqil's friends are helping! That coachman really has some skills!
Once the coachman has managed to make the carriage jump over to the other side of a collapsing bridge, and everyone is unconscious except Katarina, the sacred beast shouts beam at Katarina. She is saved at the last moment by fire magic cancelling the beams. Then a certain prince on a white horse pulls up Katarina to ride with him, and lures the sacred beast to the place where everyone is. That scene is so beautiful 🥰.
Ian, Alan and Mary immobilize the sacred beast with an *ice* jail. So water magic can be extended to ice magic. And the combination of wind and water magic was awesome! 🤩
Maria casts light magic on the sacred beast and then there's a sudden explosion that wipes everyone but Katarina and Pochi.
Aaqil was able to contain the explosion by controlling the beast. Katarina reveals to Aaqil's friends that Aaqil intended to sacrifice himself for their sake. And then Aaqil and Qumiit's heart to heart talk.
Katarina and Aaqil hear the sacred beast asking them to break the chain. Katarina determinely jumps at the beast. Pochi and Aaqil follow her.
Katarina locates the chain and Pochi breaks it.
Katarina falls from the sacred beast, Aaqil jumps from the sacred beast to catch Katarina (not sure what he can accomplish except dying with her by doing that). But Katarina and Aaqil are caught by the sacred beast, who has come to his sense.
Katarina and Aaqil are in awe by the sacred beast.
The sacred beast explains to Katarina and Aaqil how he ended up in this state, then retrieves the animal controlling power from all Mutlaq people.
Aaqil and the others part as caravan people and not emissaries. Geordo and the gang unexpectedly let Katarina and Aaqil have a romantic goodbye. The sacred beast tells Katarina he will erase all their memories. Katarina cries because she doesn't want to forget. Aaqil wipes her tears and promises her he will see her again. Katarina tells him to search for his "destined one" on another continent. Aaqil tells her he has already met his destined one. He whispers in her ears that she is his "ranyamu". Katarina blushes.
Katarina and everyone forget their memories. The sacred beast tells Aaqil Katarina will recover her memories when they meet again.
Geordo Post-credit Video
The Geordo bonus video after the credit is funny 🤣. Geordo tells Katarina he wants to take every opportunity to see her since they have graduated. He invites her to move to the castle and commute to the ministry from there (it would actually be closer if she really did it? 🤔 ). Geordo also gives Katarina a point card. He will stamp it each time she has tea with him at the castle, and once she has filled the card, he will arrange for a special cake for her at the next tea party 🤣.
Keith Post-credit Video
Katarina has just returned from the movie and Keith greets her. She tells him about the delicious hot-dog she ate. Keith doesn't know what a hot-dog is and assumes it is Mutlaq food.
Keith notices some feathers on her clothes and wonders if she has brought back an animal again. Katarina denies it.
Keith remembers that Katarina has always loved animals since she was little, and how she used to bring back frogs and bugs, which would make Millidiana or the Claes household freak out (I don't remember which).
Keith and Katarina remembers the time when Keith helped a bird. Keith was still learning to climb trees then. Keith tried to climb the tree but froze up in the middle out of fear. He could recover because Katarina loudly cheered for him. Katarina doesn't really remember, but Keith clearly remembers: Katarina shouted to him "There is nothing to be afraid of because I am here!". Hearing this, Keith was able to muster his courage and climb the tree.
Keith takes on a serious expression and tells Katarina that he will always be with her and that she can rely on him.
Mary and Alan's Post-credit Video
Katarina is just out of the movie and meets Mary and Alan.
Katarina tells Alan about the delicious churros she ate. Alan doesn't know what it is.
Mary tells Katarina that she has grown some Mutlaq roses and invites Katarina to see them later. Katarina happily accepts.
Alan tells Katarina that he will hold a piano performance for the Mutlaq people (?) and invites Katarina to listen to the piece he will play(?). Katarina is looking forward to the piano performance.
Katarina suggests to Mary and Alan they should combine the two activities: she can admire Mary's Mutlaq roses while listening to the piano piece played by Alan. Mary is disappointed: she was hoping to have Katarina to herself while showing her the roses. She reluctantly tells Katarina that it is a good idea.
Mary talks about the Mutlaq roses she grew and their meanings. One means "I want you all to myself", the second means "I won't hand you over to anyone" and the third one means "I will eliminate (?) my rivals. Alan thinks those meanings sound scary.

I think a gift that Luigi would give Mario for his birthday would be a wood carving kit like one of the professional ones with all the fancy tools for carving, sanding and sculpting, along with a few blocks of wood. He saved up all his money specifically for that and nothing else. And Mario can’t constrain his overwhelming joy over receiving such a thoughtful gift.
He cherishes it, truly, handles it with care and love just as he does Luigi.
AHH I love this idea so much!! 😍🛠✨️
I can especially see this ocurring as a flashback from when they were both still on Earth. Luigi buying this for Mario despite how rough times were back then, because he knows the hobby brings him a lot of joy. 🥺
"Fratellino...! You shouldn't have," Mario would gasp as he would unwrap his present, gazing down at the beautiful kit with a mix of wonder and dismay.
"Oh, hush!" Luigi would dimiss affectionately, patting the box and inviting Mario to open it. "We both know you've wanted one for ages. When was the last time you've treated yourself? You never indulge in any personal expenses!"
"Because I can't afford it," Mario would murmur with a furtive glance to their dingy appartment, giving Luigi a pointed look when the lightbulb above them would suddenly start to flicker.
Undeterred, Luigi would merely shrug and sit beside him, his eyes soft and compassionate.
"Please, take it," he would insist, with a knowing smile. "Please. I know how hard you try. I see it everyday. Saying that you deserve it would be an understatement. It was the least I could do."
Mario would grimace slightly at his brother's words, feeling a simultaneous pang of guilt and love in his chest.
"Thank you," he would finally say in quiet surrender, turning to give Luigi a fierce hug.
Much later, when they would both celebrate their first anniversary in the Mushroom Kingdom, Luigi would be elated to learn that the princess has given Mario full reign of the north wing's workshop, essentially letting him have it all to himself. While on his way to greet him there, he would huff with a lopsided grin upon thinking of how vast of an improvement this is over the meagre selection of tools he had offered him back then, but to his surprise, he would find Mario working at the nearest desk... with his kit laid out beside him. He would remember that this was one of the few objects that Mario had been very adamant about retrieving from Earth before the portal vanished, but he had believed it to be merely as a souvenir and would be confused as to why Mario would even bother still using it now.
"Seriously?" He would quip bemusedly as he would enter the room, causing Mario to break from his current train of thought with a start. "I can't believe you sometimes."
"What?" Mario would retort, a helpless smile tugging at his lips.
"Mario, half of these are worn down to a nub, and the other half is completely obsolete. Why keep a rusty old bike when you can have a Ferrari, eh?"
Luigi would nudge him with a smirk, pleased with his own comparison, but Mario wouldn't seem to find much humor in it. Instead, he would stare at the blueprint lying on the desk's surface and would shake his head slowly, his expression one of deep nostalgia and gratitude.
"The old bike has infinitely more value to me than any Ferrari, Lamborghini or Maserati ever could have," he would answer simply, his tone filled with warmth and appreciativeness.
Luigi would sigh dramatically at that, however beaming at the compliment.
"Okay, okay, I get it," he would concede with a playful roll of his eyes. "Just- promise me to use these shiny new toys every once in a while, alright? It's not everyday one of your craziest dreams come true! Might as well make the most of it."
He would ruffle Mario's hair and give him a wink before leaving him to his project, but would secretly feel very touched and a little emotional that Mario views his gift with such importance. ☺️💞

Princess Daisy’s Past, Her Family, and her Kingdom
Personal Headcanons List so far
—————————————————
Because it seemed like quite a few people were interested in some of my Daisy fan works. I decided to release this list of headcanons, which I actually found out I abandoned a while ago. Just decided to polish up and add more!
Before I go on, I just would like to add some context of my own kind-of AU and lore about Daisy’s father. (Since the fandom calls him Richard, I’ll be using that name too!) Some of these are just complete brainstorming. So in the future, info might change.
Now we got that out of the way, hope you enjoy this almost mini-book length lore, haha. Take your time, no pressure. But consider this as a little treat for those who love fan-lores and such!
—————————————————
Sarasaland’s History
Sarasaland was either a Barren wasteland, where 4 Kingdoms have been at each other’s throats for a long time in prior history.
Or, it was once a prosperous land. But one where it had been oppressed and enslaved by a crueler rule.
Whichever idea I was planning, it’s important to know that before Current Sarasaland, it was said to have been a bleak and dark place where “Not even flowers would even dare bloom”. The innocent folk there always dreamed of seeing beautiful fields of flowers.
There was supposed to be a miracle event that was recorded in a historical book entry about the day that Sarasaland was saved. From an account written by someone unknown:
“…Gone was the grey, somber Plume Filled Sky. When the Rays of light shone through, For the first time in ages, we saw crystal blue. Blessed by a miracle, the sight of flowers blooming all across the land. We have been kept in darkness for so long, now finally free from a cruel ironic-clad hand.”
—————————————————
Daisy and her Family
Daisy’s Father
I had ideas that Daisy’s Father may not even have originally been of royal blood at all. However, he ended up being the ‘Hero’ of his time long ago, when he and his comrades swore to save Sarasaland. And because of his spirit in battle and admirable leadership, he was chosen to be the King of the Land. A bit like Mario and Luigi being the signature heroes of Mushroom Kingdom.
The way Richard was crowned Prince could be similar to how Princess Peach would go through a process in the Super Mario Bros movie 2023. A time period of training, until he was very much ready to be crowned.
I 100% believe that this is a like Father, like Daughter situation. Daisy has inherited much more of her personality from her Father than her mother, and it shows. People would wonder how a Princess can be so battle-ready, rough and brave? Just take one look at her Father, and you’ll see why! She has very much inherited her his stubborn, and often at times very energetic and silly nature.
Personality wise, I assume that current Richard is overall, a tough man. A Veteran. He might look a bit too intimidating. But deep down, he still has a good heart that cares for the well-being of those around him.
Even more so, he melts when he’s around his wife. He adores his daughter even more so, because she is all he has left. So I guess we can believe with certainty, that Richard is definitely an overprotective type over things he loves and cares for.
When he was his younger self, he was more of a Bright-Eyed and determined youth. Leaning towards more of the stereotypical hero figure. Over time, he did learn to become a stronger and good leader. But as he grew older, there show the traces of a slightly grumpy older man.
There was that point where he did made sure to keep a child Daisy in the confines of the castle, right after losing his wife.
At first, the subjects and other 4 Kings thought this was a necessary and appropriate idea. But a while after, they started to think that the Princess might be sad if she was to constantly be watched over and told to stop doing things and be careful.
The King’s mindset would end up changing, when he finds a Diary that his wife used to own around the time when they were both still Prince and Princess.
The contents of the diary contained deep, poignant feelings and emotions. The most that moved his heart, was when she would describe her love for the King. All in all, Richard got an insight of his late Wife’s thoughts. Her happiest moments showed how genuine, kind and free the Queen felt, and how much of a beautiful person she was inside and out.
It was then Richard decided to do what was right, and to raise his Daughter to not always just be cautious and meek. But to be brave, carefree and unafraid, letting her flourish to be her best self. So that in the future, he would be able to have more faith in Daisy being able to take care and fight for herself.
At the beginning, He began teaching Daisy at a young age on how to fight and defend herself, along with giving her scholars that teach her about Sarasaland’s history. It’s a bit later that Richard had the idea of Daisy being also mentored by the 4 Kings in Sarasaland. This is the reason why Daisy is so headstrong and strategic as she is now. Also opening for the idea of her having a close familal relationship with the other Kingdoms, and how much they trust and have faith in her.
I actually thought it would be an interesting take to get some inspirations from the 1993 Daisy in the live action Super Mario Bros movie. A personal Headcanon (And inspired from her original personality), is that despite being a tomboy, Daisy values and treasures history and culture. Being quite knowledgeable in some things across the cultures of the 4 Kingdoms under her rule.
It’s because Richard wanted Daisy to be able to know her kingdom like the back of her palm. In fact, Daisy’s vast knowledge with certain historical things comes off as a surprise to most others. It may be even implied that Daisy could even be able to read and speak certain languages. Funnily enough, Daisy is also quite savvy when it comes to financial things.
But with Daisy being Daisy, she is more of an assertive Soldier/Leader. A bit different to Peach being a calm and caring Diplomat.
On the Day Tatanga made his presence known, the King only found out about the invasion during his usual visitings with the Palace Scientist’s (A bit like their version of Prof E. Gadd).
One of the Scientists gave reports about how for the past few days, there have been strange activity of something entering and lingering within the world’s Atmosphere, Somewhere above Sarasaland. This strange activity would try to emit signals. which each time, seem to grow more powerful every day.
After Richard asks when the next signal could be predicted, all computers and systems were hijacked. Each and every communicative technology displaying a sinister message, Implication of an invasion. The King immediately took action, initiating an entire announcement throughout the entire land. However, they were little too late.
The Main Sarasaland Palace was seized as Tatanga and his army would make his appearance. But not wanting to give up, The King was able to cause a rebellion. Sparking the first Battle with the Alien Army.
At this point is where I thought of the idea that originally, it seemed like that Both the King and his daughter were going to escape together, trying to reach one of the Warp pipes.
However, the big reveal was that The King had only wanted to assist his Daughter in making sure the Future Heir of Sarasaland, would escape safety. Richard would stay and fend for the Kingdom he swore to protect. As he said “Much like your mother did in her last moments, before they took her away.”
Richard believed that because The Aliens had been above their land for quite some time before they attacked, they had been surveying the land down below. And in turn, knew everything on what to expect. If Daisy were to escape, it was highly likely that she could reach other Kingdoms in time and ask for help, places where Tatanga would have not been able to reach just yet.
Daisy initially refused to leave her Father. But at the end, Richard ordered the Sphinx King Totomesu to take Daisy away to the last warp pipe. And that once Daisy was able to be transferred successfully, to destroy the Warp pipe afterwards. The last thing that Daisy saw before she was knocked out from the Warp Pipe being destroyed, was her father and the other 4 Kings going right into battle.
Usually I would go the route of “Parents have died” route. But I’m juggling with a potential idea that in fact, both of Daisy’s parents are not actually dead. She may have initially thought so. But both her Mother and Father in both occurrences, have only been taken away. But in Daisy’s case, she has witnessed Tatanga perform the mind control across almost all residents of Sarasaland.
It is through her Father’s will, which drives Daisy to take back and free her Kingdom and her father.
—————————————————
Daisy’s Mother
(She is sort of like a Fan Character/Oc at the point. And because I have a name for her, I’ll be referring to her as such here!)
Queen Laelia. A woman of knowledge and intellect, A preserver and appreciator of history and culture. She is pictured to be calm, elegant, kind, gentle and wise. However, she is also known to be firm and confident when it comes to decision making. Yet also understanding and more willing to hear the perspectives of anyone to gain an understanding of them.
Her Namesake is inspired from the Laelia Orchid flower, known for its purple colour. She might have some hint of magical abilities, or has a connection with magical places or objects.
Laelia could potentially be a descendant of long past ancestors from Sarasaland. That, or her ancestors were known to have an old holiday home/territory/Base somewhere located within one corner or Sarasaland. However during her time before she met Richard, she only knew life of her own Kingdom, located across the sea.
Because of this, she always felt like there was a ‘calling’ for her to one day see Sarasaland. Yet, she couldn’t quite place why. Her name might serve as a little indicator that Her Ancestors adopted the floral naming ideas, showing how deep their connection with the homeland runs.
Surprisingly, It’s Laelia whose main role as the Botanist/Plant specialist in the family. Daisy just ends up sharing and taking up similar hobbies and passions as her Mother did. But Daisy might more under the Explorer/Archaeologist role.
A young Princess Laelia would have met a Prince Richard when she was arriving to Sarasaland. Her Royal family treated this trip as a big deal, as this would be the first time they were able to set foot on Sarasaland docks. About a year or more prior, was when the news of Sarasaland being saved became public celebration.
The Princess and her family were impressed at the efforts for the 4 Kings in making the most of their efforts to restore Sarasaland to its former beauty. And even moreso shocked, as the Princess was always told that for the longest time, Sarasaland had lost its beauty and flowers. Yet here, the land was now thriving with no more war.
Laelia’s Interactions with Richard began when the Prince offered to give her a tour of Sarasaland, when she personally asked to be able to learn more as a part of her research and studies. Surprisingly, the Prince took up the role of Acting almost like a guide or advisor to her and her family.
This would lead to The Princess being curious as to why he offered to personally guide her, instead of sending a subject instead. The Prince mentions how much pride and love he has for the land. And how he will always wholeheartedly be a supporter to advocate for how much the Land changed him for the better. It was his job to oversee as much of the responsibility he can, so all of the civilians can live life in peace and free from worry. However, he mentions that if the Princess would like to have interviews with some of the local folk, he’ll gladly let her.
While Laelia’s family had to return to their kingdom, she opted to stay in Sarasaland for a while in order to keep watch, and to learn more about the development and culture. She promised that she would come home some time after them.
However, during this window of time, the Princess was slowly growing attached to Sarasaland. And unbeknownst to her, The Prince was the first to Harbor feelings for her as time went on. This would all build up throughout more interactions with the Prince, and soon ended up falling in love with one another.
When it was time for her to go back to her kingdom, she of course felt sadness when Even when she promised that one day she will return. But at that point, the thought of not being able to see Richard again made her feel down.
This would later be picked up by a family member (Could be mother, uncle, aunt or sibling ect) who couldn’t help but be concerned about the Princess. At first, the Princess tries to hide this, as her time there was meant to be strictly professional. But said family member would put the pieces together. Commenting how they noticed that from reports they heard, Laelia looked like she belonged there. That she had a newfound happiness.
This would later become a process of Laelia discussing with her Father. The King arranging to return to Sarasaland again with his daughter. And after some further discussion between two Kingdoms, there would come to an agreement that re-uniting and reforming an alliance that was once broken, would be the first beneficial step for both Kingdoms.
After a Wedding being arranged and taken place in Sarasaland. The Princess would gain her title as Queen, and the Prince now became a King.
Some time after, The Queen would give birth to their first and only child, A Daughter. They decided to name her Daisy, after the Queen’s favourite flowers.
(*NOTE!! At this point I’m not so concrete and fleshed out on this part of the story next, so these are just potential ideas)
The Queen would be able to be with her Daughter throughout most of her early childhood. However, the first life-changing incident would happen at a festival at the Queen’s home Kingdom.
During the yearly festival, an attack was made where a Villain wanted to take something from the kingdom. Maybe an object that radiated energy or held ancient secrets and knowledge that kept the kingdom thriving. A planned mission. All in all, if this object was taken, the Kingdom would call into Chaos.
At this point, there may be an implication that Daisy’s Mother has a magical ability. ( a Hand Power?? Similar to Firebrand or Thunderhand?) Maybe always born with one. So even when the enemy had failed to take the Prized object. They unfortunately managed to take Daisy’s Mother away. And the little Princess had witnessed it all.
Both Kingdoms were left grieving immensely after the incident. And even as both sides tried to heal over time, this was where Richard would have developed that time period of protectiveness over his Daughter for a little while.

Crushing Reality - Fanfic for 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie'
All Luigi could do was wait. Sit in an uncomfortable cage and wait for Mario to come and save him. Knowing that his brother was out there being the only spark of hope he could cling to.
Fandom: Super Mario & Related Fandoms, The Super Mario Bros. Movie Rating: Teen and Up Audiences Relationships: Luigi & Mario (Nintendo) Warnings/Additional Tags: Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Some fluff and mainly angst, Happy Ending, Happy Reunion, Spoilers for the 2023 Movie!, I need more warm brotherly moments.
First lesson learned from this place, metal cages aren’t comfortable. The sturdy material didn’t make for a good sitting or sleeping experience. Luigi needed to constantly shift to try and find somewhat of a comfortable position.
Second lesson learned, lava produces a lot of heat and metal is a wonderful conductor. There were a number of burn marks on his wrists and ankles, with a few on his neck. Basically anywhere his outfit would unintentionally raise up and Luigi wasn’t paying attention. His bare skin brushing against the heated metal. A hiss escaping from him every time. Adding to the issue of trying to get an even semi-comfortable position in the cramped, hard space.
Third lesson learned, there were truly some heartless people out there. The human was convinced that Bowser was the worst that could possibly be. Uncaring that his prisoners were being melted alive. Water was a luxury that was only given once a day. Carried by the guards in pails and handed out by the ladle full. Literally. Luigi was almost embarrassed at how desperate he’d become. Uncaring that his lips were touching the same ladle that others had just used.
His immune system was no doubt working double time in trying to keep him alive.
Food was nothing more than stale bread (which Luigi was a little surprised and very happy to learn they had that here). Two chunks of it given each day that made the human’s already dry mouth that much worse.
The guards at some point began to taunt him. Giving updates to what his brother was doing tied together with a clear threat.
“Apparently the princess thinks your stupid brother is useful to her in some way. Wonder if she’s told him about Bowser? Wonder if he cares that you’re stuck here?”
“Your brother is really upsetting Lord Bowser. Better count your blessings in hopes that your end is quick. But I think it’s gonna be slow to help Lord Bowser get rid of some pent up rage.”
“Don’t know why we need to keep giving you rations. Maybe if we drop your unmoving body in front of your brother, he’ll just surrender. Make our jobs easier.”
Luigi did his best to ignore it all. Attempting to show that the comments meant nothing to him. But the words constantly pounded against his head. Heart hurting more and more as time moved on. Unsure how long he’d been trapped in here and how much longer he had to cling to the last few strands of hope.
“Don’t fret,” the little star called out one ‘evening’, or just a time when the majority of the prisoners were asleep. Luigi lifted his head slightly to indicate he was listening.
“Our end will arrive soon enough and your sorrow will be nothing more than a dull memory.”
“What happened to you?” Luigi asked weakly. Throat sore from under use and being overly dry.
The star merely giggled before claiming, “Time is an illusion, as is hope. Hoping for a change amounts to nothing.”
“So, doing nothing and surrendering is better?”
“At least then you can accept the crushing reality for the black hole of emptiness that life truly is.”
Luigi decided he really didn’t like talking to this guy.
As time marched forward, the human became further despondent. Falling quiet, not casting fearful eyes up to the guards when they passed by or when they delivered their ‘report’ to him. Taking his rations with indifference. Curled on his side at the bottom of the cage and staring at nothing.
What else was he supposed to do?
He hadn’t been able to find a way out.
His fellow prisoners were either mentally gone or had surrendered to their new way of life a long time ago.
Luigi, on his part, could barely find the energy to move.
The one thing keeping him going was the thought of knowing that Mario was still out there. Still trying to get to him. Luigi could always count on his brother to come to his rescue.
The monotony of day to day life was interrupted at some point. Luigi’s head lifted slightly, hearing screams of fear. Starting off low but quickly rising in volume as numerous cages suddenly dropped down. All looking around frantically. No doubt having the same thoughts of looking for freedom that Luigi had felt when he first arrived.
Before Luigi could ask the closest ape, who was wearing a rather impressive headpiece, what was going on, Kamek appeared. Proudly floating before them, uncaring of the fearful faces that peered back at him.
“I have wonderful news for you all!” the magic user announced, “You’ve been invited to the upcoming royal wedding. Where you will all be ceremonially sacrificed in the princess’ honor! How lucky for you.”
And with that, Kamek disappeared as quickly as he appeared. Leaving a moment of stunned silence before there was an eruption of screams in fear and panic. Minus the little star, who let out a cheerful ‘Hurray!’. As well as Luigi who was too numb to do anything. Eventually leaning his forehead against his hand that was gripping the bar.
Was this it? Was this the end? It couldn’t be, it just couldn’t.
Eyes shut tightly, Luigi thought about his brother. About how he couldn’t give up on Mario. Eventually choking out, “Mario…please… Please, you need to get here faster. I don’t have much time…”
“Lad…did you say Mario?”
A new voice called out. Luigi lifted his head to find the crowned ape staring at him. Eyes wide with slight panic.
“Y-Yes? I mean, yes, I-I did.”
The ape strokes his beard in contemplation for a moment, peering Luigi over. “You’re human… I’m guessing that you’re Luigi, the brother he kept blabbing about. Yeah, I’m seeing the resemblance now.”
Luigi perked up at this. Fully standing for the first time in what felt like ages. Heart hammering furiously in his chest. Not out of fear, but for hope.
This was the first being not tied to Bowser and his army to know about Mario. To say his name and not have their voice filled with venom.
“You know him?” Luigi desperately asked, “You know Mario?”
“Ah yeah, very impressive work done in the arena. Made for an interesting show. Also gave my son the humbling beat down that he needed.” The ape laughed fondly, shaking his head.
“Your brother is a mix of stupid and brave. But, I suppose that would happen if you’re fighting for your family.”
Luigi couldn’t help the smile that slowly formed on his face. Mario was coming to save him. Even going so far as to fight apes apparently. But it didn’t change the fact that Mario was coming for him.
“Where is he?” Luigi asked, “Do you know where he is? Is he here? Mario, can you hear me! Is he not here?”
The hope he’d felt building up slowly started to deflate as the ape’s face fell. The smile of fondness he’d just carried slipped from his face to a defeated frown.
“I’m sorry lad, but he’s not here.”
“...Do you know where he is?”
The ape gave a short huff, eyes becoming glassy as he briefly turned away from Luigi. “Mario is… I’m sorry to say this lad. But your brother and my son… They’re not with us anymore. They’re gone.”
It was the first time since stepping into this fortress that Luigi felt cold. Wide eyes desperately searching for some sign that the other was wrong, was lying. But the ape didn’t take back his words. Merely gave Luigi an understanding pained look as reality took hold.
“No… N-No, what, h-how?”
“We were trying to get back to the Mushroom Kingdom. We were ambushed and… Look, Rainbow Road is treacherous enough on a normal day. But add a Blue Shelled Koopa with nothing to lose and…”
“So…h-he’s gone? J-Just like that?”
“I’m sorry for your loss son…”
“I warned you,” the little star called out, “Hope does nothing for you.”
There were outcries from the other with a desperate plea for the star to just keep quiet. But it was all just noise that meant nothing to Luigi. Who could only take in his crumbling world.
Mario was gone.
His brother, who’d always been there to chase the nightmares away. Who cheered him on through all the tough times. Who did everything to make sure Luigi was safe, was gone.
Mario was gone.
He was gone and…
And…
“It’s my fault…” Luigi felt his throat close. A little surprised he had enough water in him to produce tears.
The ape frowned at that. “Now lad, you weren’t even there-”
“N-No, no, you don’t understand. I-I fell into the p-pipe that brought u-us here. I-I saw it a-and was s-stupid a-and walked in a-and-”
Luigi was full on sobbing at this point. Kneeling in his cage as all the fight he had left him. Uncaring at how quiet everyone else had become. Even the guards feel their hearts tearing apart from this.
“H-He’s gone,” he wailed, “H-He’s gone and I-I couldn't d-do anything. I-I ruin… I-I ruin e-everything… I-I didn’t d-deserve h-him as a b-brother…”
Exhaustion was slowly claiming him. Causing him to quiet down to small choked sobs as tears continued to flow. “I-I’m sorry… I-I’m sorry I-I can’t do a-anything right…”
He was temporarily jolted out of his state when his cage was rattled. Thinking for a moment a guard had come over to quiet him. Finally having their fill of the noise.
Only to see it was the aged ape clinging to his cage. Apparently he’d swung his way over to reach Luigi. Still a little stunned by this, the human barely flinched when a padded thumb reached in to gently wipe a tear away.
“Such thoughts will give you nothing in return. I know nothing of your life or what brought you to this world. But I do know your brother would not want you to think like this. Nor would he put any blame on your shoulders.”
While the words did very little to quell the storm in his heart, Luigi did feel some comfort in them. Merely giving a small nod to what had been said.
“There's not much that I can offer. But…we can mourn over our losses together.”
“...Thank you.”
The aged ape merely replied with a weak smile. Both closing their eyes to silently grieve over their respected loss. The rest turned away to allow them as much privacy they could create.
Far too soon for anyone’s liking, all prisoners were moved. Luigi was more than a little startled when the ceiling of the entire building started to move, to pull away from the main structure. The multiple cages follow along against the prisoner’s wishes. Transporting them all to where Bowser’s fortress was currently resting.
Given the decorative rooftops looking like mushroom caps, Luigi could only assume this was the Mushroom Kingdom.
The break from dangling over a lake of lava came to an end when the prisoners arrived at the proper wedding venue. Or, Luigi supposed that’s what it was supposed to be. It was the only part of the dark fortress that seemed to be even semi-presently decorated.
The seats were completely filled. Bowser was already standing at the altar, along with a blonde-haired human beside him.
“He’s marrying Princess Peach?” Someone called out in disbelief.
Peach, on her part, looked absolutely terrified upon seeing the prisoners. Whatever Bowser was saying to her offered no comfort, even though he looked absolutely pleased. The princess was clearly further distraught by the situation.
Then her eyes landed on Luigi. Peach’s face had a flash of surprise over it but it fell once more. Slowly shaking her head, eyes carrying one message.
I’m sorry…
Luigi wasn’t quite sure what she was sorry for. The loss of his brother? Of not being able to free him? Of having it all end like this? Whatever it was, Luigi felt no ill will directed towards her. She was as much of a victim in all of this as he was. Offering a weak smile and small nod in understanding.
The moment passed when the cages started to be lowered. Heart rising slowly. Luigi sweating from the heat and fear. An uncomfortable realization hitting the human.
His cage was lower than everyone else's.
He was going in first.
“No, no, no!” Luigi panicked, wide eyes frantically looking around as if a sudden miracle would appear. Only to find Bowser staring directly at him. The smirk on the large Koopa saying everything. Luigi was deliberately going to be killed first.
The cage suddenly tipped to one side, lava starting to flow in quickly. The bottom soon disappears into the molten liquid. Luigi climbed onto the lower rungs of the cage to avoid his end for as long as possible.
“No, please, n-not like this… Mario…”
He wasn’t sure why he thought saying his brother’s name would fix anything. As if thinking that would make Mario appear out of nowhere to get him out of the situation. But it all resulted in nothing, Luigi left to press himself to the top of the cage. Limbs shaking as the lava continued to get closer.
Just as he thought this was going to be his end, the cage jolted to a stop before slowly moving back up. The bottom of it had completely melted away.
While he was free, there was a new issue. Namely that Luigi was one bad slip from still falling to his death. He let out a yelp as his left foot slipped from its perch, followed shortly by his right. Both kicked uselessly as if it would help lift him up in some way. He decided quickly that his best option at the moment was to get to the top and sit on the ceiling. Just hoping his shaky arms would be able to hold out for that long.
He swung himself out, grabbing onto the outside of the cage and slowly pulled himself up. His grip shifted to the lip on the ceiling. Still unable to give himself a foothold to help in the situation. Just as he was reaching for the chain, the entire thing shifted harshly. The sudden motion caused Luigi to lose his strength. The younger brother now barely hanging by his fingertips, the metal slowly slipping away. He tried bringing his other hand up, hoping to prevent this inevitable.
Luck was not on his side.
Luigi’s stomach stopped as the smooth metal finally slipped away. His other arm not fast enough to grab back onto the rung of the cage. His mind seemed to blank.
This was it.
He was done for.
No one was watching as he fell.
Even if they noticed now, there was nothing they could do.
He was finally going into the lava he’d been hung over for so long.
Perhaps this was the universe's way of punishing him for what happened to Mario.
Even then, he didn’t want it to end like this.
He wanted to go home.
He wanted to see his family again.
He wanted-
Luigi let out a yelp as his descent was cut off. Desperately reaching up to grab onto whatever was now carrying him. Wide eyes seeming locked onto the bubbling lava that had been taunting him for so long.
“Lu!”
His heart beating furiously hearing the familiar nickname. From a voice he thought he would never hear from again.
Luigi quickly turned his head to find Mario smiling back at him. Currently dressed in some bear looking costume, with a striped tail twirling frantically, apparently the thing that was helping them fly. Eyes and smile wide with glee. Solely focused on his younger brother.
“Mario!?”
Luigi couldn’t believe it. After living out his worst nightmare, it had finally ended. Mario had come to save him, protect him, see to it that Luigi was rescued.
It wasn’t a graceful landing on his part. Somersaulting onto his feet, Luigi gave a slight pause to keep himself upright before looking back at Mario. There was another beat, Mario looking as if he was about to cry before he pulled Luigi into a tight hug. Luigi gave a weak laugh, melting into the hold, wanting to be as close as possible to his brother he could be.
Mario pulled away slightly to check his brother over. Seeing that Luigi was shaken but okay, he pulled his brother back in, pressing their foreheads together. Eyes shining brightly. Hands gripping onto Luigi’s arm and gently onto the back of his head.
“See, I told you!” Mario choked out, “As long as we’re together, everything’s going to be okay!”
Luigi only nodded, sniffing weakly. Uncaring as Mario’s grip seemed to tighten further, as if the younger brother was going to be ripped away again. Luigi didn’t care about the pressure. He never wanted to let go again. They were finally back together and nothing could ruin it.
So…fighting Bowser was intense.
Luigi was surprised he was still standing after it all, but he supposed adrenaline was a strong chemical. When everything had started to calm down, it was Toad who had called out how horrible the brothers looked. Apparently, even though the Super Star had made them invincible and able to do incredible things, the moment it was over they were back to their original self. In every sense of the way.
Mario carried heavy signs of damage. Bruise, bleeding, and leaning to one side while he slightly cradled his right arm. Luigi was pale, shaking, and clearly not able to focus on his surroundings. His left arm supporting old cuts and his upper lip a little red.
They had clearly been through a lot.
That, however, didn’t change the fact that Mario immediately went into older brother protective mode. Turning to Luigi the moment Toad had said anything with eyes wide and worried. Now that the thrill of finding Luigi again, he was able to really see how the other was holding up.
“Are you okay?”
Luigi laughed softly. “You’re the one who took Bowser head on. I’m fine! I just-”
Moving was a bad idea. His first step was a wobbly one. Knees buckling, black creeping in from the corner of his vision. There were a number of hands on him at once, helping Luigi to slowly sit down on the ground safely. Mario stayed directly in front of his brother the entire time. Sitting down as well.
“Hey, hey, you’re okay? You gonna stay awake for me?” Mario gently asked. Someone calling for medical help. Luigi had the brief thought that it sounded like their mother’s.
“Yeah… Yeah, no, I’m okay… A little lightheaded…” Luigi mumbled weakly, “...I’m tired…”
“Try and stay awake, yeah? How about you lean against me?”
Luigi didn’t argue. Happily allowing himself to be pulled forward until he was fully laying against Mario. Head resting on the crook of his brother’s neck. Eyes half open. The world around him becomes blurry.
He thinks his body was slowly shutting down. He was exhausted, dehydrated, hungry, and was finally able to relax knowing that he was back with Mario.
“Lu… Hey, Luigi?”
“Mmm, yeah?”
“What happened to your arm?”
Luigi felt his brother’s hand run along the damaged arm. It’d felt so long ago he’d been thrown down to the ground by the large Koopa.
“Oh… Bowser did that… Threw me to the ground… He was mad…”
“I’m sorry, what?”
“Yeah… After he pulled part of my mustache off…” Luigi felt his brother shift. Arms being tightly wrapped around him with Mario’s hand gently gripping the back of his head. Cradling him closer.
“Okay, good to know.”
It was really easy to hear the heavy tone in the older brother’s voice. Luigi immediately being put on edge. Somehow thinking, for some reason, the anger was directed towards him. Starting to pull away to try and look Mario in the eye.
“Hey, whoa, don’t move too fast Lu.” Mario worriedly kept his hands on Luigi’s shoulder. Their foreheads pressed together again. “What’s going on?”
“I’m sorry…” Luigi mumbled weakly.
That confused Mario, “What are you sorry for?”
“It’s my fault…”
“You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“But it’s my fault… I fell into the pipe…” The days of being trapped in that small cage, of all the unknown worries weighing on him, the moments of learning of what he that was Mario’s passing.
In the back of his mind, Luigi knew they were still in the middle of a crowded and destroyed street. That some high powered people from the other world were nearby and no doubt able to see and hear everything. But at that moment, he didn’t care. He didn’t try to hold back the heavy sob that dropped from his mouth. Tears falling again, breathing harshly as he felt close to fully breaking.
Mario immediately pulled Luigi back in close. To the point where Luigi was practically sitting in his older brother’s lap.
“Hey, it’s okay,” Mario whispered gently, “We’re okay.”
I-I thought y-you were g-gone,” Luigi whined out, “Y-You were g-gone…a-and it was m-my fault… I-I’m sorry… I r-ruin everything…”
“You don’t ruin a single thing. You make everything better! I wouldn’t be standing here if you hadn’t swooped in with that cover idea! That was so clever.”
Luigi sniffed weakly. “R-Really?”
“Oh yeah!” Mario smiled, gently rubbing Luigi’s arm. “...Can I tell you something?”
“Y-Yeah?”
“I’m really to be blamed for this, if we’re going to be honest.”
Luigi’s eyes widened at that. “B-But I fell in…”
“And I couldn’t hold onto you,” Mario’s voice wavered, “I told you we’d be okay, that we just had to stay together… But then you were ripped away and- …It ate me alive. All I could think about was ‘what if I had a better grip?’, ‘what if we had swapped places?’, ‘what if I was a better brother?’.”
“Y-You’re a great brother.”
“Not if I could have let you go that easily.” Mario let out a slow breath, eyes closing slowly before he continued. “There were a lot of things I wish could have been changed. But that’s not what matters now. What does matter is that we’re here now and we’re okay! We’re okay…”
“Yeah… Yeah, we’re okay…” Luigi smiled back weakly.
He couldn’t keep his eyes open any longer. His body finally giving up and decided against this want, he needed to sleep now. “‘M tired…”
“I know, I know you are…”
“Can I sleep now?”
There was a bit of a pause before Mario responded with, “Yeah, you can sleep now.”
“Okie dokie…” Luigi let out a yawn, every part of him relaxing back into his brother’s hold. Hearing a few mutters from someone else, Mario giving a quiet reply. But he wasn’t able to tell what was being said.
But he didn’t care. His brother was here, they were together again, and that’s all he needed.

How would you describe each member of Luigi's harem?
I'm going to note down the members down first so I can follow it along, both good and bad guys will be here instead of just the evil trio and this is based on my opinions. Puppy crushes will be included. We got; Daisy, Peasley, Dreambert, Bowser, King Boo, Antasma, Dimentio (I'm holding back on adding the artefacts that possessed him and give them sentience but you can't tell me they aren't literally sniffing him out through the entire population and hunting him, the Dark Prognosticus did it best) Daisy: we know her, we love her. She is the first love since Luigi got to that world. She learned of Mario through Peach and liked him when he met him but was more attracted to Luigi when they met due to his soft, shy and kind-hearted nature, loving how cute he is but also the amount of surprises he holds. Like how he matches her competitive nature in sports and taught how much more fun it is to plant flowers. And she will never say no to his cooking, she nearly tried to hire him to her kingdom so she could eat and be together with him more but she'd never dare separate him from his brother. If Luigi feels too socially drained she'll either speak for him after he whispers or gives her looks she understands or kidnap him to his place for cuddles and rest.
Peasley: Adores Luigi with all his heart, he feels so lucky to have met him and is always excited when he visits his kingdom to see him. He will boast about him to his people and close connections, letting his name be more known as well as his own heroic deeds. When Luigi does visit, he often asked about any new adventures he's been on or his life in general, smitten by much Luigi appreciates the small things in life and how perceptive he is and it slowly rubs off on him. By now, he knows the most part of Luigi's routine and has things ready for him if he can which Luigi really loves. He loves how he doesn't hide his nervousness and marches on even though he's scared, true bravery in his opinion. Despite how cute he finds it, he still tries to build up Luigi's confidence and be less anxious, trying to slowly help him step out of his comfort zone once in awhile.
Dreambert: he really looks up to both brothers and admires their strength and resilience but he's gotten closer with Luigi due to his calm nature and his basically legendary dream powers that he's only ever read or heard of before. It's stressful and tiring trying to regain and rebuild his kingdom after all these years of being a stone and loosing the Dream Stone to a bunch of coins but Luigi's help and company really calms him down and sets him in a better mood about the whole thing. Exploring the Dream World with Luigi is always so amazing to him and a lovely break from real life problems. When not doing that, they cuddle or nap together in various places and let their dreams merge which helps with Luigi's insomnia. Speaking of which, he is determined to assist Luigi with it so he can sleep normally again after so long, which Eldream and Dr. Snoozemore have joined in as they are interested in how their remedies and techniques would work on the human.
Bowser: ngl, I'm very surprised at how many things I missed between these two but noticed them after the dang movie and this ship skyrocketed. He has proven his power to Bowser plenty of times from saving Mario, battling him in the Dream World, heck Luigi was even about him when he battled O'Chunks for the last time. He has a lot of respect for Luigi and would like to challenge him more to see just what else he's capable of on his own. He also loves how much he cares for his children and tries to spend time with them when he's around, making them treats and keeping them in line when they get too rowdy. Some of his troops also show their own respect to him and try to speak with him when they have free time. He's honestly much happier and more tame when around Luigi but don't feel too safe cause he's still the same Bowser all know and love or fear.
King Boo: I made a whole post of how they are bitter exes and I'm sticking to it. This dude is egotistical, deranged, a ticking time-bomb and he has it all out for Luigi to a more dangerous level each time he's defeated. Not even Bowser got this insane, his schemes are always crazy and over the top but not the way KB does it. After yet another rewatch of LM3 I kinda put myself in Luigi's shoes and was actually terrified for him. Now at the start, KB and Luigi had a good thing going, in all honesty, but the power lust got too much and showed thr signs of insanity more clearly. I think during their relationship, Luigi may still have been afraid of the boos but he warmed up to the kinder ones and brought tons of Boo Candy for them all, those boos now feeling sad that they have to let him be tortured this way from their king but can say nothing about it. Dude needs rehab. But try to catch me not liking this toxic yaoi, cause you won't, the one who does is probably my doppelganger or an identity thief.
Antasma: this is yet another person I've made a post about under your request and have added my own shippy headcanons on. Now, this guy is all about control and careful strategy as we've seen in the game, which got amplified after his betrayal with Bowser. However, now that both stones are gone he starts to gravitate towards Luigi's dream powers who are nearly that of the Dream Stone's and has even impressed the spirit of said stone. This leads to curiosity, wanting to learn more about the plumber himself which made lead to clues on how he even has these crazy powers. Then it turns into fascination and affection. I feel like Antasma is the easiest to rehabilitate, it just needs time and care, which Luigi is capable of. But it can result in a bit of an isolation on his part since Antasma most likely doesn't want most of his enemies surrounding him. While he may turn good, doesn't mean his scary side will change, it will just be used less and in different ways for each person. This can honestly end up being the second less toxic relationship Luigi can have with a villain.
Dimentio: do you guys have any idea what this twink has put me through? Idk what curse he placed on me but ever since I paid attention to him, I've seen far too many evil, murderous, gay jesters from literally every single fandom I know like some portal of hell opened up specifically for evil jesters to come out of. Like, holy shit. Anyways, this guy has a number of crimes under his belt and a special fascination towards Luigi, since unlike the other villains, he actually wants Luigi by his side not for revenge or to drain his power but for the individual himself. At first, he was just another tool to be used, another character to the story, but then he started seeing past that dull perspective of his and realized why both the Dark Prognosticus and the Chaos Heart chose him specifically. He has lived for endless years and his ambitions have made everyone around him dull and the same, but Luigi is an enigma to him, the first interesting person in years and it increased after the defeat. He tried to get close to Mr L who didn't seem interested but he still used his opportunity to at least learn the plumber's hidden side to use it against him. He believes it's not over for the two of them, his perfect world is still waiting to be created by him and dub him its ruler. And what's a king without his queen? I can honestly say that while Luigi may fear him, he's the only villain he actively hates with a passion and won't hesitate to get physical with.
No idea if this is what you wanted but this is what I can provide. This has my own opinions and headcanons on there so take it with a grain of salt. This was honestly fun cause I'm pretty opinionated and I love talking about these freely.

So I was prompted to write my own take on the Luigi jailbreak scenario via someone's tags :D I'll probably cross-post this to ao3 sometime later today.
I've definitely taken a more comedic bent with my interpretation, which I feel is in more in line with what the movie will be like. But there's some smidgens of angst. And a fair amount of silliness. And yes, the brothers will reunite at the end :)
And so, I give you, "Jailbreak." A comedy in two parts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Speech! Speech! Speech!”
“I’m not really much of a speech-giver…” Luigi protests as the Penguin King’s burly aide pushes him towards the center of the gathered escapees.
The chamber, or the evil rotunda, as Luigi thinks of it, is a circular room punched through the middle, a series of chains descending from a large, wooden crank set high in the rafters. Bits of armor and weaponry are strewn about the floor, spears and hammers and something resembling a megaphone that shoots fire, which was definitely the first thing Luigi clipped to his belt after they had thrown the remaining guards into the pit. The interior design can only be described as ghoulish, stone busts of various Koopas, as he had learned they were called, inflicting violence on various species - penguins, birds, some kind of mushroom people, and a green, happy-looking lizard wearing boots and a saddle.
The Penguin aide continues to push him bodily through the throng, which is smushed together near the entrance doors, careful to keep far, far away from the menacing cavity in the middle of the room. Luigi takes stock of the strange group, wondering how in the hell he went from checking out a warehouse leak in Flushing to shimmying up a chain dangling over a pit of lava to knocking out an armed, sentient turtle with a well-placed pitch of one of those ghastly busts.
“Gathered friends,” the aide begins, having caught the attention of the murmuring group. “Fellow penguins, goombas, birdos, and…” he trails off, glancing over at Luma, who gives a high-pitched, broken giggle, the effect of which is like nails drawn across a chalkboard. The penguin’s expression crumples into folds of distaste. “And psychotic star…things…”
“Weeeee!” Luma exclaims helpfully, bounding across the ceiling rafters, setting the chains off into a chorus of tortured groans.
The aide clears his throat. “Yes, well. As I was saying. We’re gathered here today - or tonight. Or maybe this afternoon. You know, it’s honestly hard to know being stuck in the bowels of a lava castle…” Off to the side, the Penguin King is making cutting gestures across his throat.
“It’s two thirty-seven!” one of the Goombas calls from the back.
“Afternoon, then! That’s lunchtime!” a Birdo exclaims from the other side of the room.
“I could eat!”
“Me, too. Think they have any turnips down here?”
“Weeeee!”
The aide slaps a fin to his forehead with a deep sigh. “Can we please focus here?” he yells over the growing din. Luigi chews on his lower lip, fingering the trigger of the fire gun hanging from his belt. This is the ragtag group of rebels he's supposed to be leading to the gates of the Lava Castle?
He’s definitely going to die here.
“As I was saying,” the aide begins again, deepening his voice into a royal solemnity. “In our darkest hour - “
“It’s still two thirty-seven, Mr. Penguin!”
“In our darkest lightest hour,” the aide hisses. “A hero arrived from another world. Beaten but not defeated, he liberated us from our imprisonment with his courage, intelligence, and most importantly, his opposable thumbs. And now, this hero will lead us to storm the gates of the Koopa Castle and aid us in smiting our enemies to take back what is ours!”
“Friends, I give you - “ the penguin flings his fins open, whacking the Luigi in the shin.
“Our hero - Loogi!”
The crowd erupts in a high-pitched cheer, raising an assortment of cobbled-together weapons over their small heads. Even the ridiculous, toothy Goombas are hopping up and down, chanting Loogi! Loogi! Loogi!
Luigi pulls at his collar, giving the odd gathering the kind of half-smile, half-grimace he usually reserved for school pictures and his brother’s cooking.
“Uhhhhh…..” Luigi begins when the clamor dies down. He gives a small wave in all directions, adding, “Hi?”
Fifty or so pairs of eyes, and some other appendages he couldn’t even begin to name, stare at him wide-eyed, expectant. He wonders if they see him as some kind of action hero, or trained assassin, or even a mercenary soldier of fortune, like that one movie he and his brother watched all the time back in Bensonurst.
What the hell is he supposed to say? He’s a mechanical engineer-turned-plumber from Brooklyn, a street kid and a science geek, not some kind of war hero. Not to mention, he still doesn’t know where the hell he is, surrounded by talking penguins, birds with cannons for mouths, and whatever those weird little Goombas are supposed to be.
Luigi clenches his jaw.
He thinks it’s been about three days since he was dropped unceremoniously into whatever incarnation of hell this place is supposed to be. And in that time, he’s been chased by skeletons and tied up by a bunch of miniature red monks with gasmasks. He’s had his moustache hairs plucked out by a giant, firebreathing turtle bent on taking over whatever world this was. He’s been magically levitated and thrown about by a dinosaur wizard in a goofy hat. And to top it all off, to put the crap cherry on the crap cake, he was tossed into a cage like some old lady’s pet bird and dropped over a pit of freakin’ lava.
Screw speeches. I want Bowser’s kneecaps.
“You guys want a speech?” Luigi growls, tightening his grip on the gigantic hammer in his hand. “Here’s your damn speech.” Luigi raises his weapon over his head, yelling, “Let’s kick some Koopa ass!”
A raucous cheer rises from the gathered motley group, Luma zooming around the chamber, shouting “Meat for the grinder! Meat for the grinder!” between fits of maniacal laughter. The penguins dance awkwardly, their weapons twice as large as they are and Luigi hopes what they lack in stature they can make up for with enthusiasm. Off to the side, the collection of Goombas bounce up and down. Without any discernible arms or hands, Luigi has no clue what help the Goombas could be, but who knows? Maybe they can bite somebody with those fangs.
He has no plan, no knowledge of where he is, and he prays to every deity he can name that his brother is safe, that whatever world he got pulled into is treating him better than this one has Luigi. But watching the ragtag group celebrate in front of him, he feels something akin to hope.
For the first time in three days, Luigi smiles.
Maybe, just maybe, he can be a hero after all.
--------------------------------------
Epilogue
“Watch to your left, Loogi!”
Luigi spins, hurtling his hammer at a charging spiny-shelled Koopa, sending him flying into the general fracas of the first floor antechamber. Towards the middle of the room, Penguins and Birdos and little mushroom people armed with spears are battling it out with Bowser’s minions, shell, fur, and feather flying as his ragtag band of rebels pokes and swats and, in some cases, bodily hurl themselves at the gathered Koopa forces.
Luigi sprints to retrieve his hammer, intent on throwing himself into the fray when the large double-doors to the throne room boom open in a rush of blinding, white light. It takes Luigi a minute for his eyes to adjust, so long has he been trapped in the gloomy castle chambers. There’s something coming from the light, some kind of shadow hurtling forward. Luigi squints, raising his hammer above his head, ready to strike at whatever newest enemy he'll be certain to pound into the ground.
“Luigi?” An all-too familiar voice yelps from across the chamber. “What in the - “ his brother stammers, rushing towards him, stopping short a few feet away. “Why the hell do you look like Duke Murdock?”
Luigi smashes his hammer down on one of those stupid skeletons, sending splinters everywhere. He turns to his brother, suddenly very aware of his tattered overalls, his soot-stained cap, the dark bags beneath his eyes. "What do you mean?” Luigi counters. “It's a great movie!"
"That's not the point, meatball head! What are you doing?" Mario gestures at the wild chaos unfolding between the escapees and the Koopa troops.
"I'm trying to run a rebellion here, big bro. You could stop standing there and help, you know."
"A rebellion, I - " Mario chuckles, jogging to his brother's side. "Why am I not surprised?"
With the arrival of Mario and his allies, the melee turns decidedly against the Koopas, who, sensing victory slipping through their claws, launch one last offensive of spikes and shells. Luigi and his brother get to work, slamming, punching, and pounding their enemies. It strikes Luigi that Mario looks like he knows what he’s doing, almost as if he’s had some kind of combat training, like he's the one trying to be Duke Murdock. He’s about to ask his brother about it when Mario stops, pulling, of all things, a flower from his overalls.
“Have you gone insane?” Luigi yells.
But he’s left speechless as his brother is enveloped by two quick flashes of light, his overalls changing from blue to white. Luigi's jaw drops open. He has seen a lot of weird crap in the last few days but his brother, performing real magic?
What is this place?
A moment later, Mario winds up, as if he were pitching for his high school baseball team again, letting loose a series of fireballs from his palm, which barrel into the Koopa forces, sending them flying like a set of ten-pins.
"Holy hell, bro!" Luigi exclaims. "You have got to teach me how to do that!"
"Oh no," Mario rockets another flaming missile towards a group of Spinys. "You remember the flambé incident that one Valentine's Day." Luigi groans, slamming his hammer into one of those gas mask monks who kidnapped him. "And the Benson burner in high school." Luigi groans again. "And the fuel injector in the van - "
"That one was not my fault!" Luigi exclaims over the whine of a spiky projectile which whizzes past his head, knocking his cap to the ground.
Mario’s eyes widen as he pulls Luigi towards him, spinning him around so they’re back-to-back.
"You're not going near fire," Mario says over his shoulder.
Too bad his fire gun gave out three levels ago, Luigi thinks, slashing his hammer into the gut of a large Koopa Trooper.
"Electricity, then," Luigi says as he makes a second parry with the hammer. The Koopa Trooper falls back, grunting.
"Wait, what?" Mario shoots him a look, throwing another fireball into the fray.
"Electricity. If you can shoot fireballs, I get to shoot electricity."
Mario gives an aggrieved sigh.
"I - no. First of all, that's not even possible. Second of all, no. And third of all…” Mario trails off, his features softening. The battle is on its last legs, penguins and mushrooms giving chase to a small group of Koopa stragglers, who scurry towards the nearest exit.
Mario turns, taking Luigi by his shoulders.
“You're taking this all really well, Luigi."
Luigi gives a wan smile, gaze finding the floor. "Bro, I've led a prison escape gang consisting of penguins, walking mushrooms, and one really messed-up star. We broke out from cages hanging over a pit of lava, stole weapons, and have fought our way up here ever since."
He doesn’t mention being chased through a nightmare hellscape by a pack of hungry skeletons. Doesn’t mention being kidnapped, hands bound, led by a rope through the Dark Land to meet almost certain death. He doesn’t mention the moustache.
His brother doesn’t need to know about all of that. It’s enough - more than enough - that he’s here.
Luigi’s chest tightens. "Nothing short of ghosts is going to surprise me at this point, bro," he laughs. It’s a wet, croaky sound.
Mario stares at his brother for a moment. All at once, he grabs Luigi, enveloping his brother in a fierce hug.
"Pasta brain,” Mario whispers, ragged, into Luigi's shoulder.
The tension from the last few days - the constant alert, the self-preservation, the seemingly never-ending threat of death - it all seeps away in the safety of his brother’s arms. So what if they’re marooned on some other world, other universe, far away from anything resembling Brooklyn? He’s got Mario and that’s all he needs.
"Pizza breath," Luigi replies softly.
Mario grips him tighter. "I'm so, so glad you're safe, bro."
I've missed you so much. Luigi returns the hug with equal intensity. "Me, too, Mario."
America Chavez x GN Reader
Request - Could you write America Chavez x GN Reader?
Tumblr media
America decided to stay on Earth-199999 and she will be trained by Dr. Strange. You became friends with her and you spent more time with her almost every day. But she started to develop feelings for you, but she hasn't told you. She does smile more when you are around her and she tries to flirt with you but doesn't go well.
“So, Halloween doesn't exist on your Earth?” You asked.
“No. So why do people celebrate Halloween?” America asked.
“Just to have fun. Some people like to wear costumes and go to parties and everyone gets free candies also people just like the treats” You said.
“That doesn't sound boring. Why do people ask for candies?” America said.
“It just became a tradition to ask for candies. Oh, you should celebrate Halloween! We can wear costumes” You said.
She starts to think about it.
“Okay!” America smiled.
“Awesome” You smiled back at her.
While walking to the store, she starts to talk about her training. She is getting stronger but has a lot to learn, you can see that she has a strong bond with Dr. Strange. While in the store, you two start to look around and you help decide what to wear. You got your costume but she hasn't decided what to wear. It took a while for her to pick a costume but she finally did it. Later, you and America went to get something to eat. She starts to ask what makes you attracted to someone and you start to tell her. But you didn't notice that she is into you.
✫ ✯ ✫ ✯
It's Halloween, and you are dressed as Sully from Monster Inc. America is dressed as Luigi and you take a selfie with her. You went to a party with her and Peter is happy to see you and America.
“Who are you dressed as?” America asked.
“I’m dressed as Han Solo from Star Wars” Peter smiled.
“What is a Han Solo?” America asked.
“Y/n, please tell me that she is joking,” Peter said.
“On her earth, Star Wars doesn't exist,” You said.
“Well, that explains it. Okay, Star Wars is about-”
Peter started to ramble on about what is Star Wars. But America got confused she didn't understand who are the characters or what is a jedi.
“Peter! Next time, we will show her the movies. Breathe and let's take a break from talking about Star Wars” You said.
“Okay. There are drinks and food in the kitchen” Peter smiled.
“Okay,” You and America said.
You and America are starting to have fun. Wanda and her kids are at the party, Wanda isn't after America or Dr. Strange anymore. Wanda just said hi to you and America then walked away.
“So no more fighting?” You asked.
“No. We worked it out and she doesn't hate me” America said.
You don't dance but America tries to convince you to dance.
“Come on, Y/n it will be fun,” America said.
“I don't know how to dance,” You said.
“It will be fun, Y/n,” America said.
“Okay, fine” You smiled.
She tells you to let loose and just have fun. You are starting to hesitate and she gently grabbed your hands. You start to dance and you are feeling very nervous about it, but she encourages you to keep dancing. You and America keep smiling at each other while dancing.
Later, you and America went to get something to eat in the kitchen.
“I’m really liking Halloween,” America said.
“That’s good to know,” You said.
You and America are standing very close to each other. She leans in and kissed you on the lips, she gently put her hand on your cheek and kept kissing you. She pulled away and you are speechless, it felt like your heart was beating much louder than the music.
“Y/n, I really like you a lot. I wanted to kiss you for so long” America said.
“Wow... America I-I”
“I get it, you don't feel the same way,” America said.
She started to walk away fast, she is leaving the party. You start to chase after her, then start to use her magic to leave but you grabbed her arm and pulled her towards you.
“America, I have feelings for you too. When you kissed me... I was caught off guard but I liked the kiss” You said.
“You mean it?” America asked.
“Yeah, I mean it. I wouldn't lie to you about my feelings and I want to kiss you again” You smiled.
“Me too, I want to kiss you again” America smiled.
She wrapped her arms around you and you start to kiss her.
“Do you want to go on a date with me?” America asked.
“Yeah, I would go on a date with you. Wait, does this mean you are my girlfriend?” You said.
“Yeah, I will be your girlfriend,” America said.
You kissed her again and she starts to smile then she kissed you back. But, you leave the party with her and went to get pizza. While walking to get pizza, she would hold your hand. You and America can't stop smiling about what just happened.
The next fic I'm working on! ✨
Thanks to the AMAZING @itsavee4117 and his absolutely CUTE drawing of the bros using the Super Leaf power-up, you kinda got an idea of the next fic I wanna bring 🤭 Please go check out his work, but beware: you may faint from cuteness 🥹🥹🥹❤️💚✨
I'll tell you a bit about the fic! It was basically born from the notion of Luigi using power-ups for the first time, as we only got to see him using the Superstar in the movie. Last year, I wrote the longest fic I've ever written, focusing mainly on his experience during the movie and afterwards, and I came up with this idea! I thought it would be interesting to see his perspective while using them for the first time, just like we got to see Mario's, and then, after seeing this lovely art, I thought it would be PERFECT to focus on the Super Leaf. (I'm not tagging the artist because I already tagged them in the past when I expressed my intention of writing a fic based on their art, but since the fic is not ready yet... I don't wanna bother them 😅 I'll do it when I post the fic of course!)
So yeah! In this fic, you'll see Luigi's perspective while using the Super Leaf for the first time and, of course, Mario helping him to learn how to fly 🥹🥹🥹 You can expect LOTS of fluffiness and brotherly love, just like in Vee's lovely drawing, and also... There will be a Mareach scene afterwards 🤭😏🩷❤️
@bberetd @vulpixfairy1985 @peaches2217 @keakruiser You might be interested in this, dear friends! 🤭💖💖
I really really wanna share it with you guys!!! 😍😍😍 I still haven't finished it because I have two VERY busy weeks ahead of me, but I'll see if I can bring it, like, around mid May or so? 🤔 I'll definitely try my best! And I really really hope you'll like it! 💖💖💖
Also, this is the very first time that I got art even before I wrote the fic it's based on 🤭 Thank you SO MUCH for making it real, Vee 🥹🥹🥹 You're so amazing and sweet! I love you so much 💖💖💖
I think the Mario movie would definitely benefit from having a tie-in show due to the potential for worldbuilding, which would be a first for Illumination because I don't think they've ever made a series based on any of their movies
Tumblr media
(I'm gonna lump these two together since they both have the same kind of question.) An Illumination Mario movie cartoon sounds great on paper. But it depends on how it's executed.
Buckle up, this is gonna be a looong post:
A Mario movie cartoon would give us the time needed to flesh out the characters and worlds a lot more than the movie did. We could have time for more bonding moments between Mario and Luigi, we could get to see more of the Mario family, Bowser's minions could do some comedic moments and we could learn more about Bowser and the other Mario villains, we can explore the Mushroom Kingdom and other kingdoms and worlds from the games, and so on and so forth.
But it depends on what kind of story Illumination would do. Would it be more like Wander over Yonder- a comedic episodic adventure that slowly builds up to an overarching story in later seasons? Would it be like Infinity Train- an mystery/ adventure that slowly reveals more about its world with each episode and takes the time to flesh out and explore characters mindset, personalities, and motivations? Or would it be like CocoMellon- a lazy, mindless, cash grab timewaster that parents can put on to keep their kids quiet. It really would depend on who Illumination would hire to direct and write the show. Someone with a passion for Mario and wants to tell a good story, or someone who only cares about profit and turning the show into nothing but a boring easter egg factory for fans.
Another deciding factor would be if Illumination would do this in 2D or 3D. Now I believe that 2D would work best for Mario. Illumination can do 2D animation well as seen in the Minions 2 movie end credits and even in the Mario movie concept art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With a proper budget and the right creative team, a Mario movie cartoon is possible! But maybe Nintendo would be hesitant to do one because of how the 90's Super Show cartoons were. For as nostalgic as they are, no one can deny that all three of those cartoons had a laundry list of problems, as well as a budget of seven dollars and a chicken sandwich.
But I'm imagining Illumination hiring the Flying Bark Studios creative team. You know, the guys who made Rottmnt and Lego Monkie Kid!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imagine a Mario movie cartoon done in that gorgeous art style and with the same fluid and well choreographed fight scenes as those shows. I'm already drooling at the thought, it would be so amazing!!
But knowing Illumination, they would probably do it in 3D. Now, 3D can look good in kids cartoons. 2012 TMNT, My Dad the Bounty Hunter, and Maya and the Three are proof that it can be done well and even with a cinematic quality with Maya's case. But 95% of 3D kids cartoons aren't given a proper budget and are mostly shameless cash grabs mostly made by greedy corporations trying to wring as much money from parents as they can like with Megamind Rules, Coco Mellon, SpongeBob Camp Coral, etc.
So like I said, it depends on Illuminations motivations (which would probably mostly be just money), if it's done in 2D or 3D, and the passion and love that whoever directs and writes the cartoon has for Mario and the franchise.
Tumblr media
- Well this is weird, you never expected to be dating Devil Mario. Being in a relationship with a dude being possessed by boos was something you didn’t see coming. I like to think in order for this to happen you’ve been with Mario or at least friends with him before the whole incident happened. Regardless of if you were in a relationship with him or you two were just friends he absolutely loves you. He treats you with respect making sure you're okay and have everything you want or need. Willing to go through certain lengths to make sure you're happy. He’s the perfect boyfriend/friend material.
- However it kind of changed when the whole ordeal of him getting possessed by boos. As much as I want to deny it or lessen the degree of what I’m about to say but I’m just going to be honest. Knowing what happened in the original series meeting Devil Mario he most likely tried to attack you or maybe hurt you. Considering what happened to Luigi and Peach in the series who Mario is close to as well there’s no doubt the boos possessing him will do something similar to you as well. It definitely took you by surprise when it happened. You knew it wasn’t actually Mario who was doing this but regardless it kind of made you scared to be around him. It definitely upset Mario once learning about what happened to you, not even trusting himself to be around you or frankly anyone in case he got possessed again and something worse happened.
- However, what you didn’t expect was that Devil Mario had started taking a liking to you. Yeah he did attack you when the two of you first met but regardless of that he just found you interesting. Not just in looks but how you act as well. He could understand why Mario started associating himself with you.
- After discovering you he pretty much made it his mission to be with you. Even if you two got off on the wrong start regardless he wanted to get to know you better. Maybe protecting you or more. For now he wanted to gain your trust. That was the main focus for now since he literally almost murder you the two of you first met. When the two of you first met again honestly you were more afraid of getting attacked by him again, your first thought was that since he didn’t finish you off the first time he’ll definitely do it this time. However, you were mostly shocked when he said that he or rather ‘they’ due to the boos possessing him didn’t want to harm you. Initially you were suspicious at first, maybe trying to grab your attention in order to do something. He knew it would be a while since he would get closer towards you and he was more than willing to do it. Even if it means they may have to derail their current plans in order to do so. Eventually with enough convincing from him as well as a promise to protect you from anyone who gets in your way you decide to at least give him a chance. Lucky for you he managed to keep his end of the agreement.
- It felt kind of weird being around him at first especially considering what he has now become but despite the initial misunderstanding you two enjoyed being around each other. When Devil Mario isn’t murdering people that is. Even if you were just talking to a bunch of ghosts possessing your once friend/lover it felt nice. Each time you two hanged out Devil Mario found himself wanting to get closer towards you. After receiving your trust he couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming feeling of wanting to not only protect you but be more than friends with you. It kind of takes him a while to process his feelings for you even though he knew he wanted to get closer with you ever since the day you and him first met.
- I like to think he never really established that he likes you or that you two are in a relationship. He just does things that people consider loving and you just go along with it. Before quickly realising that he may or may not like you. At first you have to ask him something like “are we in a relationship?” And he’ll just respond “wait we aren’t?” All confused which then evolved into the two of you having a staring contest with the two of you confused as fuck. After a little explaining you just accepted that he liked you and reciprocated them.
- Definitely very protective over you. He managed to get with you this far and he’s planning on keeping like this. Not in an overbearing way of course but still expect him to be very close towards you. If he finds out someone is annoying/bothering you, you can bet your ass he’ll be doing something about it.
- Adding on from the previous point one of said ‘something’ he’ll do is definitely murder. Considering his character he’ll be more than willing to kill someone for you. Just say who’s bothering you and he’s on his merry way to get rid of them. Even if you try to convince him that it’s no bother he doesn’t care. His mind is already set on harming said person as soon as he sees you upset.
- Also kind of adding in from the previous point you can find himself being very loyal towards you. Besides his main goal you come very close to him. He can be easily persuaded into doing something by you (minus the previous point and reaching his current goal). As soon as you say you want something you can expect him to get it for you. If you want him to do something just tell him and you can expect him to do it. If it makes you happy he would be more than happy to do it. Seeing you smiling is the best part of being with you, to him at least.
LUIGI X READER
CHAPTER ONE; dull
  When you first started working at Punch Out Pizzeria, you felt energized, excitement, as you'd greet new faces that would walk in to catch a quick slice to eat. But after learning the ropes, getting to know the faces that slowly grew more and more familiar over time, things start to get . . well, boring.
You'd been sick of the tourists, thankfully not many of them come around inside, but when they do, you'd often give a sour face and a little attitude. They were just here to listen to your New York accents half the time, anyway.
Coming home and smelling like an oven full of pizza dough every night wasn't exactly "living the dream", but not every job was perfect, you supposed.
At least you were treated with some respect. You had to admit, you did have it pretty good. No other workers stuck around long enough to bother getting used to liking, and the boss always comped your meals. So honestly, how much could you really complain?
And, you supposed it was a plus to see Mario and Luigi every week. Their new plumbing service ad just started running about every Friday afternoon. It left you with a smile on your face anytime you got to see it play. It may have only been once every two weeks, but it was there.
"Hey, Y/N. Didn't you see the good news?" Luigi bumps your elbow as you flick your eyes over to see him.
You'd been dazing out the window, onto the busy streets of Brooklyn for a moment now, without much realization. The streets were full of construction and speeding cars. Nothing interesting happening, but more interesting than what goes on inside here.
It'd be nice to get the hell out of the pizzeria for a day.
You lift your cheek out of your hand, and raise a tired eyebrow to the younger brother. "Hm?"
Mario gives you a little frown and looks you over once. "You alright?"
You nod, waving them off. "Yeah, sorry, got crappy sleep last night. And I guess I'm just tired of being in here." A little sigh hangs low as you push yourself away from leaning against the counter.
"I can see that." Mario nods along. He understood that feeling more than you knew.
"You're tired of the Pizzeria?" Luigi asks you, a curiosity smitten on his face.
You nod. "Wouldn't you be?"
He shrugs. "Eh, I don't see it."
"Oh, so the failure brothers are back in town."
The three of you turn to see Spike, a tall, average New Yorker. Rivals to the two brothers, you've picked up over a short period of time.
He was sitting in his regular booth, picking apart a pizza. Ordered from you just about every week at the counter.
Honestly, it wasn't surprising, but he tried to hit on you each time he came in. You've been told before you were 'as pretty as a princess'; so why wouldn't this asshole try to make a move?
"Oh great. Spike's here." Luigi drowns out, a little shrug to his shoulders as he turns towards his brother. Mario glares forward at the counter and lets out a hefty huff from his chest. "Yeah. Hey, Spike." You watch as he cringed at the name coming from his mouth.
"Can't believe you let these guys hang out with you. They've done enough to embarrass themselves by leaving me." Spike turns to you with a light laugh.
You raise a brow, adjusting a pout to fit on your face better. "We don't need a reminder. They're actually doing pretty good." You bark up. The male lifts a brow and shoots you a cocky smile.
It was actually something you had very little knowledge about, if you were being completely honest. You really didn't know if they'd been making any good progress with the business yet, but even so, you were gonna stand up for them regardless of anything.
Luigi smiles, digging a hand in his pocket, and holding up his phone in a quick response. "Yeah! We've already gotten a call since we've left you!"
Mario looks to his brother curiously, and you do the same. "We did?"
Spike almost looked impressed, but it was cut short once Luigi spoke up again. "Yeah! From our mother."
Your eyelids dull at the taller brother, and turn to look at Mario who shared the same expression with you.
"Dumbass." Spike scoffs. "Good luck running a business with him." He balled up a used napkin from his booth, and flung it at the taller brother. Mario caught it before it could hit his brother.
"Hey!" With one swift movement, Mario tossed the napkin right back into Spike's face. You watch with little caution from behind the counter. Before things start to escalate, you decide to take a couple steps around to the side of the counter, in case you were needed to break up a fight. You didn't know much you'd do, but your spunky Brooklyn attitude would be enough to get them to stop.
"Say one more thing about my brother, and you'll regret it." Mario glares up in the man's face. Spike obviously took that as some sort of threat - - though, still comical to him, which resulted in him standing up to his full height from the booth.
He was very much taller than Mario, and of course, Luigi, but from what you were seeing, Mario didn't seem to care all that much.
"Oh yeah?" Spike made one movement and reached his hands out to grab the overalls Mario was accompanying. He lifted the short male up to his face, heated.
"Hey! Stop," you step fully around the counter, a tired tone to your voice. It had already been a long day, and the last thing that you wanted to do, was to break up two boys in a scrap.
"C'mon guys, calm down." You step beside Luigi, off on the sidelines of the argument taking place, who eyed you briefly, before turning his wary expression to his older brother.
"Let's get one thing straight, Mario. You're a joke." Spike hisses out, his grip tightening around Mario's straps, which resulted in pulling him closer. "And you always will be."
And with that, he drops the male straight to the floor, who landed with a bit of a thud.
"Yo! What the hell." You glare up at him.
Spike only laughs to himself under his breath before getting a chance to look at you. "You can keep the change, babe." He winks at you, before walking his way out of the pizza shop.
Luigi meets his brother on the ground, giving him a little pat to stand back up again.
"You good?" You ask him, turning your attention back down to the male. Mario wiped his cheek, putting back on the bit of ego he had partially lost, and straightened himself up. "Just fine."
"Are you insane!?" Luigi frowns at his brother, and you do the same. "He's like three times bigger than you!"
"I don't think he really cares," you turn to Luigi and heavily sigh out your frustrations with the roll of your eyes to exaggerate the mood you were now in. "Mario, you don't always have to try and be some hero. At least, not in our restaurant."
He shook his head as if disagreeing with you, and continued to dust himself off. "C'mon, I can't be scared of everything all the time. I had to do something. I'm tired of him."
"Ok— regardless, I don't want you guys getting hurt." You cross your arms over the waist of where your apron was tied. Mario waves you off, taking a seat up at the counter where they once had been enjoying themselves for the evening.
Luigi didn't seem all that convinced, but he sat down again anyway.
"Thanks for the concern, but we'll be just fine." Mario offered a light smile instead of his determination of the hour.
"Yeah, speak for yourself." Luigi added onto that statement.
You walk behind the counter again, shaking your head to rid the thoughts and conversation. One of these days, you could just see something horrible happening. Spike wasn't a bad person, just an asshole. And you didn't really take too kindly to a guy like him treating the people you were close with, like the way he did.
"Hey, so uh, I gotta favor to ask." You lean over the counter and decide to change the subject over to something they'd both be more interested in. The two brothers look at you with curious eyes. "Yeah?"
"I've got a leak in the kitchen sink. Think you guys can come over and fix it for me?" Your gaze shifted between the two of them, but internally, your hope was riding more on Luigi to take the chance to speak up.
You did have a little bit of a thing for the taller brother, and you could sense he liked you, too. He was just too nervous to say anything, and you weren't one to push something if it didn't need to be, so as of right now, things were pretty quiet and subtle between you both.
Mario nods, looking over to his brother. There's a subtle sense of confusion, but he obliged anyway. "Yeah, we can do that for you. Anything for our favorite pizza maker," Mario chuckles, again, catching the look of Luigi, who then smiles back.
"We'll take a look once you get out of work! Sound good to you?" Luigi tilts his head curiously.
You smile and nod. "Yes, thank God." Tossing your head back dramatically catches their attention again, "It's been driving me crazy for weeks." Since you were still on the clock, you take their empty pizza plates and toss them into the bussing pan that was situated behind you at your counter station.
  "Well don't worry, we'll fix it right up for ya!" Luigi smiles, it's cheeky, and bright. You always liked that about him.
"Cool, I really appreciate it. I've been too tired to do anything about it." You brush off your hands on the apron around your waist, and lean against the counter once again. It was slow in the restaurant, but not slow enough to lose money. You sort of wished something exciting could happen, just for today.
"No problem," Mario waves.
A ring breaks up the conversation, and you all look to Luigi and his phone. As he picks it up from the counter, you notice his eyes widening a bit at the foreign number that was calling. He answers it, and you watch curiously. "Mario brothers plumbing!"
His expression changes, eyes bright and a smile growing. "Oh yeah! I'm glad you called us! We can be right over there, ma'am!" Once he hangs up the phone in a rush, you got the impression that they had gotten their . . first? gig.
"We got one! Mario," Luigi puts both his hands on the elders shoulders and shakes him around a bit. "We got a call! They need us right now!"
"Really?" His brother laughs a little, astonishment soon taking over the situation at hand. "Well then, we gotta go!"
You laugh, watching as they shuffle to their feet. "Good luck, boys!"
Watching as Luigi stumbles to take out his wallet, you smirk a little as he smack some bills onto the counter. He gives you a soft smile once you notice the money was well over the amount on the bill. "I-I'll see ya later,"
Mario gives his brother a quick nudge with a knowing smile, before jotting a thumb to the exit. "I'll meet you in the car, Lou."
"Good luck." You smile at him. One hand pockets the money into the apron you wore, and you laugh a little. "And, thanks." When your shoulder shrugged, you watched him as he slowly but surely made his way to the door. "Hey, no problem! I gotta go- - just call me— uh, us! I mean us! Just call us when you're ready for us to be there," he shoots you a little finger gun, and you inwardly laugh at his nervousness. Seeing him like this wasn't foreign at all, in fact, it was quite often. But there was still something about him that made it so cute.
"Yeah, yeah, get goin'!"
