Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ /🌶️
Aristotle and Dante fell in love, and now they must learn what it means to stay in love and build a relationship in a world that hates their existence and people like them were dying daily. Aristotle isn’t the same person he was before he fell in love with Dante, and he finds himself reaching out to new friends, making his voice heard, and forging a new path in a world that doesn’t understand him.
This book made me SOB. I love Aristotle Mendoza so much. I wish I could give him a hug, as I feel like he needs one, even if he hates hugging. This was a perfect sequel and it will weigh heavy in my heart forever. If you’re looking for a good thought provoking, tear inducing, beautiful queer story, please consider Aristotle and Dante.
so i just finished (re)reading from Tempests and Slaughter to Trickster’s Queen by Tamora Pierce. i love the Tortall series and i will continue to list it was my favorite forever.
but i don’t know what to read next.... i’m going to start reading Beka’s story because i don’t have anything else (i don’t like Mastiff which taints the whole series for me but i remember liking the first one at least so...)
typing any titles into a “what to read next” would most likely get me something in the children's/ teens section that i’m not really looking for (i’m 27 and i just don’t want to read the teen tone right now)
i don’t know exactly what i’m looking for...maybe something similar? but it doesn’t have to be. i do know that i don’t want a oneshot straight romance (this includes series that have each book focus on 1 couple)
right now i mostly read fanfiction... long ones with lots of angst but happy endings (with a gay couple)
i appreciate any recommendations and if anyone wants to talk Tortall i’m very available for that!
don’t you love when you’re casually reading a random poem and suddenly come across a line that burrows into your bones and becomes the definition of your heart for the next 17 years
Hera, Goddess of Women, has approached Hades with a plan to overthrow Zeus, which he declines to help with, and as a punishment, he must now complete a series of labors to gain Hera’s blessing on his and Persephone’s marriage. These labors are taxing on Hades, and take him away from Persephone who is dealing with her own tragedies that leave her wondering if she can be the Queen of the Underworld.
This was so much better than A Touch of Ruin. I felt like Persephone was insufferable in that book, and almost couldn’t stand her. I loved Hades’ POV of their relationship and I found his subplot to be more interesting than hers. Though I am so shocked that they are able to keep what’s going on in their lives from each other, and I hope in the next books they stop all this miscommunication and actually have a discussion that does not end in sex.
