Art piece that will be part of But in this twilight, our choices seal our fate's fic cover! First time drawing a background as well, and drawing plants. Oddly enjoyable to draw a tree ngl, but the background...Jesus. Anyway click on the image for better quality, I don't know why tumblr sabotages me like that.
Symbolism under the cut for those who want it :
Hashirama's position is inspired from Dharmachakra Buddha, or Teaching Buddha. This is what I found about it :
This statue signifies wisdom, understanding, and fulfilling destiny. Both hands are held at chest level, with thumb and index fingers forming a circle. The right hand is turned palm in, while the left hand is turned palm out. As do most images of the Buddha, the Teaching Buddha depicts a particular moment in the life of the Buddha, namely, the first sermon the Buddha gave after reaching Enlightenment. This sermon was to a small group of disciples who had previously scorned the Buddha. This is a statue that is particularly appropriate for those who are either studying or are interested in learning more about spirituality. The phrase DharmaChakra is hard to translate. The word Dharma means "the way of righteousness," while the word Chakra is usually translated as the "Universe" or as the "cosmos." Taken together, this phrase generally is interpreted as, "putting the cosmic law of righteousness in order," or "turning the wheel of cosmic righteousness."
I think it fits Hashirama's character arc in the fic, as he reaches "Enlightenment" through both the awakening of the Mokuton and the decision to create a village, and it's that goal he strives towards, and wants to convince his clan of following him in that path. The group of disciples can be interpreted as either the Uchiha clan or the Senju clan. Hashirama believes he's bringing justice and peace to the world, literally enforcing his "law of rightenousness" upon the world, although he is, despite being linked to him, not Buddha. He is just a kid, and the decisions he will make will have a long lasting impact on the world and his own clan, but I will get to that.
The moon :
I know that canon links the Ashura reincarnations to the sun and the Indra reincarnations to the moon but I decided to ignore canon. Hashirama is not an Ashura reincarnation in my AU and personally I view him as a Moon character, with Madara being the sun.
The Japanese mood god is called Tsukuyomi in Shinto and the sun goddess is Amaterasu. The moon god’s sister takes the stage most of the time, but at night, Tsukuyomi embodies all the positive things of the dark sky — spirituality, dreams and energy balance. In Zen Buddhism, the moon symbolises enlightenment. Regardless of which religion one is in, the Japanese people collectively look up to the moon as a positive force in their beliefs.
Those things fit Hashirama's character and achievements far more than Madara's, especially with the enlightenment aspect, since Hashirama is canonically Buddhist. In the databooks, he is also described as calmer than Tobirama (whose temper is akin to Madara's) and his sudden mood shifts remind me of the different phases of the moon. He draws power and inspiration from his relationship to Madara, whom he calls a "gift from the divine", much like the moon draws its light from the sun. Madara is also a very sun character imo but I will not ramble about him because that is not his post. Furthermore, the moon is linked to the ocean through the tides, and I think that's a cute tidbit since Tobirama is very much the ocean, and Hashirama is a huge influence in Tobirama's life. Part of the reason they fall out in my AU is that Hashirama is so stubborn and unable to see beyond the system (the moon is associated with illusions) while Madara is more destructive and has an all or nothing mindset - either he brings real peace to the world or he dies trying (he dies trying). Madara is ofc also associated with flames and his personality is so fiery, passionate and extroverted, a presence that either shines or burns everything around it. Hashirama inspires without burning, he is more level-headed, and his dark side is hidden, although far more dangerous (the moon phases, again). He's also the one who takes the sun away from the world, indirectly causing the First Great Shinobi War.
Willow :
Willow trees, known as “yanagi” in Japanese, have a profound cultural significance in Japan. The symbolic meaning of willow in Japanese culture is associated with grace, resilience, and flexibility, making it a powerful symbol in art, literature, and daily life.
and
In Japanese literature, the willow tree is often used as a metaphor for human resilience and perseverance.
I think that a kid who grew up in a centuries-old war and still stubbornly believes he can at least make things better so children would not die so young is as resilient and perseverant as one can be. He did the impossible, and although his dream backfired, he did make the world safer for children for a little while. I am staring very angrily at Hiruzen for not keeping it that way.
Since we're talking about plants, let's move to
Ambrosia :
According to hanakotoba, ambrosia means pious. In Japan, ambrosia is used to brew a special drink that, in mythology, was said to grant immortality, and ambrosia tea is brewed as an offering to the gods. In the West, plants of the Ambrosia genus are commonly called ragweed, and they’re often thought of with a pejorative connotation, as many people suffer from ragweed allergies.
Like I said before, Hashirama's powers have a very mythical and religious dimension to them, especially within Senju beliefs. And of course, as the God of Shinobi, nothing's more fitting than a flower meant for the gods! Of course, not all cultures have the same view on ambrosia, just like how in my AU opinions on Hashirama diverge. Some rever him as a god, and some view him as a monster. His actions brought many benefits to Konoha and its population, but also destroyed civilians' lives and made other shinobi villages terrified of the Mokuton's power (hence the premise of Far Beyond the Woods of Dawn, where the world has to deal with the Mokuton coming back with Akemi, Hashirama's grandniece).
Broken weapons :
I think that's self explanatory!
The nightstand :
Oh boy. Well the vajra is obviously the Senju's crest, and this is what I found about it :
The Vajra (Sanskrit: वज्र, lit. 'Thunderbolt', IAST: Vajra) is a legendary and ritualistic tool, symbolizing the properties of a diamond (indestructibility) and a thunderbolt (irresistible force). In Hinduism, it has also been associated with weapons. In Buddhism, the vajra (Standard Tibetan: dorje) is the symbol of Vajrayana, one of the three major schools of Buddhism. Vajrayana is translated as "Thunderbolt Way"[17] or "Diamond Way" and can imply the thunderbolt experience of Buddhist enlightenment or bodhi. It also implies indestructibility,[18] just as diamonds are harder than other gemstones. In the tantric traditions of Buddhism, the vajra is a symbol for the nature of reality, or sunyata, indicating endless creativity, potency, and skillful activity. Buddism integrates the word vajra into many of its legends and practices. Vajrasana is the location where the Buddha attained enlightenment. The vajra asana body posture is the lotus position. The highest concentrated mental state is vajra samadhi.
The Senju are known for their vitality, stamina and incredible life force, and I personally expanded on that in my AU by giving them superior physical prowess (Tsunade has the most strength amongst them but they all have superstrength and insane durability and speed). They're also known for mastering all areas of shinobi powers, which fits the endless creativity. Honestly Kishimoto went OFF with the symbolism there.
However, here, it's tainted with blood, and hidden behind ninjutsu scrolls. Those who read my AU will know this is representative of how Hashirama's quest for power to establish Konoha led to the Senju's genocide (still continuous at this point of the timeline!). Hashirama is still young in this piece, but his disregard to his clan has already started (and is a parallel to Madara also having the same issue with the Uchiha). The vajra is indesctructible, but the Senju aren't, and Hashirama will fail to see that.
The Uchiha crest and the butterflies :
The crest's symbolism in itself isn't important so I won't make this post any longer by rambling about fans and Amaterasu and Buddha, but the position is quite important. Hashirama has set the Uchiha's crest in a spot that's easy to see, above the hidden Senju crest, which gives the illusion (moon!) that Hashirama values the Uchiha more than his own clan. He does not. He values Madara, which is totally different. The consequences of his actions will also be felt for the Uchiha, as symbolized by the butterflies.
White butterflies often symbolize purity, freedom and love but in the case of Japanese symbolism specifically,
The white butterfly is a powerful symbol in Japan, representing the souls of departed loved ones. In Japanese culture, white butterflies are often seen as messengers from the spiritual realm and can be used to bring comfort to those who have lost someone close. The tradition of connecting butterflies with death dates back centuries in Japan.
Hi Izuna! Your clan is definitely suffering. Woups. But yeah, while this may look like a good omen at first glance, it's in fact the souls of the dead Uchiha watching over the weakened and ostracized Uchiha clan in Konoha.
The crimson butterfly also symbolizes the souls of the departed (Madara, maybe?), but it's also used to portray star-crossed lovers who can only be together in death, a trope very much linked to HashiMada, since they could never be together in life (due to Hashirama's internalized homophobia, Tobirama killing Izuna, the mess that is Konoha, etc etc).
It can also represent fragility, which foreshadows how fragile the alliance between the Senju and Uchiha will be, and how quickly the peace (imperfect and reliant on the suffering of other nations) Hashirama created will unravel.
Phew, this is the end I think. Took me more time to type up this post than to draw the art itself bc I kept getting distracted and had finals. Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed the art! I can't wait to do Touka and Tobirama next.

Would you be willing to write angst where Madara and indra (separately) finally broke the last straw and they and their lover have a heated argument. It escalates to the point where she threatens to take off her ring. How would they react. (The argument was their fault.)
I am convinced Indra is one of those persons who says hurtful things without feeling it just to make the other one angry, and no one can change my mind.
Tumblr media
Indra
He knows the argument is his fault, he is aware of how he pressures (Y/N), and how she feels lesser for not being able to give him a child. It is no one's fault really, only the Otsutsuki's impatience and helplessness for not being able to control nature itself.
Indra is mighty in every way, the most powerful man in the world, but he is failing at the one fundamental task of his present time: to conceive an heir and start a clan with his own blood.
He does not know where the failure lies, he has no idea if it is because of him or (Y/N), all he cares about is how he fills his wife with his seed every single night, hoping for an immediate result that never comes. It is frustrating, having achieved the most difficult goal of his life, conquered everything he wanted, and not being able to achieve the most common and ordinary task of any man.
An afternoon of problems is when he explodes against his beloved, bearing the pressures of his followers and resolving situations within the village he managed to create after his victory. Everyone counts on him, everyone needs him, and the pressure of authority becomes exhausting.
(Y/N), worried about her inability to grant him an heir, seeks validation and reaffirmation from him. She just needs to hear everything is okay, that they will get through it together, and that patience will be the greatest virtue for them both to get through the predicament, finally getting a child. The woman goes to her husband's private training camp, where she always counts on being able to find him. The man senses her arrival and stops his practice to give her his attention. "It's nothing urgent, my love, I'm just worried."
With a cold stare, Indra hides his concern, refusing to let his wife see the worry is shared. Unable to show he feels fear about it too, he chooses a distant stance, kicking the problem down on her, "You should be, it's been a while since we started trying."
"You talk like it's my fault...we have no idea what's going on and-" (Y/N) is interrupted by curt words, throwing responsibility on her actions, as if she doesn't want to have a family with him.
"I'm not certain about that, and I'm afraid consequences must happen soon." The Otsutsuki glares at her, red-eyed from his height, inwardly regretting not knowing how to put his feelings into words without hurting her in the process. He knows his position will only lead to trouble, but he can't do anything about it, riding a train with no brakes.
"Consequences...would you risk all our years together for a stone in the road...? Indra, I've been with you from the beginning, long before everything that happened..." There are tears in (Y/N)'s eyes, threatening an early free fall down her face. The woman stares at him in disbelief, genuinely mortified with every response she receives. Does her company mean nothing to him, the unconditional love she gave him through all their moments?
"My life was built upon losing people I believed to love. If I had to lose you for this, it wouldn't be news, (Y/N)." His sentences are like many kunai burying themselves in different parts of her body, and the woman can do nothing but rethink everything until now.
"You should probably keep this then." She throws the gift he gave her on their wedding night, a beautiful ring engraved and embedded in red gemstones, at his feet. Pain is visible on her features, and the anger with which she turns away from him is palpable.
Worst of all, Indra does not feel any of the words he said. He would never abandon her, even if it meant not being able to bear children of his own blood. He cannot control the image he pretends to have in the outside world, even if that includes hurting those he truly cares about.
(Y/N) has been with him since before his curse, was with him during his eternal fight with Ashura, and helped him build the place he now calls his. She is his safe space, his little home, but he can't help the awful unreasonable words flowing out of his mouth in frustration, anger, and rage. She knows him, and understands he's usually a pain in the ass to argue with, but this time she seems to have been truly affected by his statements.
Maybe he took it too far, without even meaning to.
He picks up the ring at his feet and puts it in his pocket before deciding to run, get away from the place, and find a distant and remote village to kill every single one of its inhabitants. Indra lashes out at the life of all the innocents he finds in the tiny town, destroying children, women, and fathers alike.
His anger is directed at himself, raging at his inability to control and suppress his reflex to hurt others. Of course, ironic to analyze his own self while dismembering humans left and right.
Madara
It is in the early evening when Madara decides to leave in search of (Y/N). Having arrived earlier than usual, he wanted to surprise her at home, but she was nowhere to be found. He opted to go to Izuna and ask about her, his brother always being everywhere and nowhere, knowing the whereabouts of every person in the clan.
The younger Uchiha recounts how he saw her walking a while ago, presumably towards the local Uchiha market, intending to buy something to make Madara some dinner. How Izuna knows so many details is none of his concern, yet he is grateful for the information.
Arriving at the market, he scans the place for her presence, too tired to use the Sharingan and deciding to do it the old-fashioned way. He walks among the stalls and greets every person who dares to speak to him, being stopped many more times than he would like at this hour.
As he talks to a little old lady, he sees her in the distance, having a very animated conversation with a man he recognizes from his army. He is an average warrior, one of the many Uchiha who never managed to develop a Sharingan, and he is too close to his wife for his liking.
Quickly excusing himself, Madara frees from the old woman to get closer to where (Y/N) is, without revealing himself to her but close enough for the man to notice. Behind his wife's back, the Uchiha stares at him with eyes full of hatred and menace, causing the warrior to flee in terror without even saying goodbye to her. Confused, (Y/N) turns around to see what spooked the man, caused him to be so horrified, and meets her husband face to face.
Judging by his expression, it looks as if he has just met Tobirama, and the woman is extremely embarrassed when he lifts her over his shoulder, abducting her from the market and concluding her shopping moment.
"Madara what the fuck! Put me down now!" She yells angrily, slamming a fist into his back and trying to lift her head to keep all the blood from going to that area. He doesn't comply with her demand until a few minutes later when they are in the privacy of their home, and away from any prying eyes.
"What got into you?!" (Y/N) exclaims indignantly, trying to understand what could have affected him enough to not even say hello.
"Who the fuck was that man and why were you conversing so cheerfully with him?" He asks with both loathing and resignation, expecting a terrible answer from his wife. Maybe it was her lover, maybe it was the person she would want to replace him with, or maybe she already had.
"He's one of the guards you assigned to take care of me today, you idiot! He was with me all day, under your own orders! Don't you even register what you decree, all day locked up in your office?!"(Y/N) is overcome with indignation, being indirectly accused of unfaithfulness wrongfully.
The Uchiha is speechless, not knowing what to say about it. He deals with so many things per day and at the same time, he tends to forget one or two matters. He feels disgusted for having assigned such a weak warrior as his wife's bodyguard, but even more so for not being able to remember it. The stress was consuming him to such an extent he was beginning to forget important things, skipping some and erasing others altogether.
"Even if that hadn't been the case, seeing me talk to another man doesn't give you the right to freak out like that! Interacting with people of the opposite sex doesn't mean I'll be looking to cheat on you, Madara! Grow the hell up, and learn to respect me as your wife, or it ends here!"
Enraged, (Y/N) storms out of the house, leaving a stunned and shocked Uchiha in the middle of the room. The only thing Madara is thankful for is the fact she didn't take off her ring, which could mean two things: either she didn't notice, or she doesn't see it as serious enough to genuinely leave him. Either way, he feels terribly guilty, and can't understand how he lets himself be driven by jealousy like that.
Unfounded jealousy, even worse.
The Uchiha is left pondering in solitude before he goes off to find her, determined to apologize on his knees if that's what it takes to get (Y/N) not to be angry at him anymore.

I have written a little about how Sakura is written to be irrelevant throughout the narrative by Kishi, and as a result, demeaning her character through the literary tool of subversion. Here's another example of how Kishimoto makes Sakura's character redundant and very intently makes her the laughingstock of the manga. Like I have mentioned before, he gets some kind of perverse pleasure out of showing both Hinata and Sakura down and he would go a painstakingly intricate and at times, long way to do it too.
I will be publishing a longer write up about this subversion that Kishi uses for Sakura as an answer to an ask but I am writing this particular post separately because this bunch of chapters portray a series of incidents where Kishi really does it without any subtlety and is pretty in your face about it too, like you can viscerally feel his disdain towards Sakura's character just wafting over and it has made her a huge target for ridicule, it has become a ubiquitous topic for very popular jokes and memes even outside the fandom, lol.
Okay, so the chapter I am talking about is chapter 675 where Sakura has just been kamui'd out by Obito from his space time dimension to protect her from Madara's attack after she fails to stab his rinnegan eye. But she never had much determination to speak of unless it had to do with showing off to Sasuke and Naruto, mostly Sasuke. What is interesting to notice is that it also pointedly harks back to something else that she did (or didn't do lol) with her kunai which resulted in a frustrated and (greatly) annoyed audience, courtesy Kishi.
Tumblr media
Her nervous expression, the trembling kunai just centimetres away from its target but unable to reach it, failure to do it anyway, giving an opening to her opponent that could have easily been avoided had she been a little more resolute (no one really asked her to take on Sasuke though, that was her own decision given her poor sense of judgment, fighting strategy and skills), getting attacked by the opponent and then getting rescued by someone. Mostly Naruto.
#Redundant
Anyway. She couldn't do anything, having failed to stab Obito's eye so she is transported back by Obito and she joins Kakashi and Sasuke who are waiting for Madara to return. She sees Kakashi's condition and starts to heal him. Naruto leaves his clone to hold Madara's shadow captive with his sage of six paths staff and returns to Sasuke's side, his better half of the 'main act' of the war which has already been established at this point.
So seeing Sakura healing Kakashi, he takes over from a resisting Sakura and heals him. The ONE thing that she could do and not feel redundant in the trio is taken away from her, lolol.
Tumblr media
He not only heals him, he gives him a brand new eye, something that is beyond the reach of prevailing medical jutsu itself. How can Sakura even hope to compete with this? Lolol. Kishi, you sadistic so and so! You won't even let her catch a break.
Naruto can't explain and doesn't even understand how he did it and it took Sakura years of effort to learn medical jutsu and achieve a stage where she could even use her mitotic regeneration jutsu. Hahahahaha.
#Redundant
Okay, now then, Sasuke tells Naruto to keep his guard up while Sakura is acting like her usual pointlessly high handed self trying to condescend to Naruto who just made her presence utterly pointless, and Kakashi starts to reminisce about team seven dynamic. Kakashi, a man who has a very shallow understanding of his team members (he thinks Sakura's love has changed from what it was and that she is kind and gentle lol) and not at all about Sasuke, which he thankfully admits.
But what's funny to me is that Kishi was totally focusing on showing Sakura down, mercilessly. So Kakashi is seen reminiscing about their first day in team seven.
Tumblr media
Sakura squealing like a typical immature fangirl crushing over an entirely disinterested and quite embarrassed boy, while having no other goal or objective. While Naruto announces his goal to surpass the current hokage, Sasuke divulges his ambition of restoring his clan's honour and killing Itachi, Sakura just blushes and squeals.
Kakashi thinks she is kind and gentle (because of course he has never seen Sakura treating Naruto, at times even a badly injured Naruto, like a punching bag and manipulating him and everyone else for her ill conceived plans), she has grown and her love for Sasuke has matured because she still cares about him even though he tried to kill her in kage arc. Oh sure, running after a boy and begging for his attention no matter what the circumstances or timing is totally what a mature woman would do, lol. Thing is, he has got blinders on when it comes to Sakura because he obviously very conveniently forgets that Sakura attacked Sasuke first, in fact, she went there with the sole intention of killing Sasuke, while not knowing the truth but suspecting something, after having orchestrated a plan that included fake confessing to Naruto (#rejected lol), drugging her team mates and armed with a puny poisoned kunai which she didn't have the presence of mind to deduce would be pointless against Sasuke who trained with Orochimaru for years, some medical ninja, lol.
Kakashi treats her with kid gloves and doesn't understand Sasuke's feelings or motivations given his own lack of perception and failure to understand the intricacies of emotions and relationships, he makes a lot of faux pas when it comes to his team seven members. Kishi knows that these are the questions any reader would ask since these elements were given such consistent visibility in the manga and such consistent characterisation to the players, he is not an idiot. So he uses indirect and subtle techniques and narrative elements, and forces the reader to ask questions and then provides the answers. How? By showing, not telling. Okay, a little telling as well.
Kishi has already established, through Kakashi's interactions with Obito, that Kakashi is definitely flawed as he writes him to admit that he tried his best but he made mistakes.
Tumblr media
And that it can be contributed to his past, when he lost his father so cruelly along with his team mates. He also admits that giving false hope to Sakura when Sasuke is about to abandon Konoha was wrong. And what this proves is that Kakashi isn't infallible. His hypocrisy is very apparent when the core of his principle is to cherish his comrades and yet couldn't even attempt to understand Sasuke, given Sasuke's excruciatingly disturbing and scarring past. And even at the end, he expects Sasuke to behave and acts like it was all Sasuke's fault, not having understood him at all. The reason Sasuke gave up at the end was due to the revelatory experience he had with Naruto in chapter 698. Kakashi is emotionally stunted, perhaps which is why he is so good at being an ideal shinobi. A shinobi doesn't cry, doesn't emote, doesn't complain, doesn't break orders and protects his village with his life. Anyway, what becomes clear is that Kakashi's emotional perception is quite affected and far from accurate for sure.
Anyway, so Kakashi reminisces about what he perceives as the team seven dynamic after Naruto heals his eye and then reminds Sasuke of the first lesson he taught them when they were rookies. Sasuke remains meaningfully silent and only grunts. He obviously has a very low opinion of Kakashi, justifiably, as was established in kage arc and the succeeding chapters after this one emphasize it even more. Heh.
Tumblr media
So what does 'Team Seven' decide on?
TEAMWORK.
Where was this notion of Team seven teamwork emphasized on the last time before this? Here.
Tumblr media
Where Sakura is seen nursing her past insecurities and ramping her ego to join Naruto and Sasuke in the fight because she can't tolerate being protected by them anymore like a damsel in distress.
She thought she was a full fledged kunoichi after passing her genin exams, lol.
Tumblr media
Anyway, so she doesn't want to gaze at the boys' back, meaning being shielded or protected by them, as they proceed to take on their opponent. And she manages to punch and make a dent while insulting her own sensei, like some badass that she definitely thinks she is, it becomes quite clear from her body language and expression.
Problem is, her feeling so good about herself (I have finally caught up to them) and acting like a badass is very disproportionate with her actual actions and contribution to the battle. Which is why it creates a dissonance in the reader's mind. As she keeps pulling the same shit over and over without changing or improving things, even after having certain realizations, she creates a negative impression of herself in the audience's mind. She doesn't evolve to be better in a manga where characters learn and grow as a rule which then contributes to the main plot, this is a coming of age story as well after all. Same with Hinata.
Btw, Hashirama saying her strength might be greater than Tsunade doesn't mean shit. Because he actually hasn't seen what his grand-daughter is capable of. Her strength is greater than Raikage, as Madara notices after fighting all the kages. Someone as strong as Naruto struggled to fight against Raikage when he tried to stop him from joining the war effort and so Bee had to intervene on his behalf. She couldn't even fight average cloud ninjas Omoi and Karui, lol. Like c'mon, they aren't even portrayed as some super strong, special ninjas, they are a hardly more than comedy fodder. But Kishi won't even let Sakura take some fodder level ninjas, lol, it's embarrassing. And what happens? Naruto comes to her rescue, as always. Heh. No way Sakura is stronger than Raikage, lol.
Why does Kishi do things like these? These obvious contradictions that he knows are very visible to anyone who pays attention? Especially with Sakura, where other characters like Kakashi, Shizune, Hashirama and Jiraiya remark positively about Sakura? To build expectations, make the reader anticipate some awesome action from Sakura, something that would actually justify these positive remarks in the narrative, building the premise of the action, escalating it, but then right at the moment of dramatic and narrative payback, 👎. He makes Sakura fail pathetically (he does the same thing with Hinata) by subverting the narrative development and tropes, by not satisfying the readers' expectations that he so painstakingly develops, by writing the most anti-climactic of actions at the end. No payback whatsoever. What does an actual payback look like? Cue Might Guy's opening all of the eight gates, when he smashes Madara's ribs in as he breaks his own bones in the process. Cue Tsunade grunting like a warrior goddess as she thrashes Madara's clone beyond recognition. Even Sakura when she punches the ground real hard and takes out little juubi soldiers.
He sadistically wastes all that effort that builds up the anticipation.
And what does doing that achieve? Simple. It makes the reader get really annoyed/dissatisfied with the character. And they feel compelled to berate or ridicule her character. And why won't they? They invested in the character and his/her actions in the narrative for a grand payback, watching multiple episodes or reading multiple chapters carefully, and when they don't get it, they would naturally be frustrated. Kishi consistently pulls this shit over and over again with Sakura and Hinata. And why would he go to such lengths to do shit like this? Well, it's not because he wants to make these ladies look credible or worthy. Heheh.
This is exactly why fans who don't see everything through rose coloured glasses, shipping lenses or have a good taste and a good understanding of characters and the human condition, and actually pay attention to what they are watching or reading, are so annoyed by these characters. Notice I am not saying disgusted or hateful (although some of y'all are) but mostly really annoyed and frustrated. Sakura and Hinata, more than anything else (although they are all those things too, like distasteful, boring and cringey lol), are simply annoying. Because of the reason I explained above.
Kishi is fucking relentless about it too. After this sense that he gives the reader of team seven dynamic, he pulls this shit here. No Sakura, no team. Just Naruto and Sasuke being the main act.
After which, we see Naruto and Sasuke fighting together or separately, but not with the team. But after they are given the sage of six paths power by Hagoromo, they fight together, well in sync with each other. Like they are meant to be. Sasuke bosses Naruto around, like usual, Naruto complains nostalgically but you can see he is totally enjoying it to the hilt. And both of them get shit done. Naruto stops Madara's shadow successfully as Sasuke skillfully slashes Madara's physical body in half. But before he can react further, Madara flies to Kakashi, steals his sharingan and just shoves it in his socket, because it really is that simple lol, enters Obito's space time dimension and attacks Sakura. Now Sakura has no idea about Madara's powers, not having fought him at all directly, and definitely not having fought with the juubi jinchuuriki Madara. So where on the one hand, you see Sasuke and Naruto thoughtfully device strategies to fight Madara, Sakura actually is totally clueless. But Kakashi reminds them of 'teamwork'.
So then Madara finally appears and then this happens.
Tumblr media
Hahahahaha. Teamwork? What teamwork?Sakura doesn't even know what Madara's strengths or weaknesses are. And just as expected, he stabs her in the chest and stops her punch with his Limbo jutsu. Payback? What payback? Readers who sympathized with Sakura? Disappointed. Readers who wanted returns on their investment, disappointed. But people who understood what she was really like? Vindication. Lol.
She did the same thing here that Hinata does in Pein arc, when she charges at Pein without putting any thought into it. Hinata did it to attract Naruto's attention. And why did Sakura do it?
Tumblr media
And what happened in both cases? Long build up resulting in them getting struck with a single hit and then being rescued by someone else. Naruto doesn't even acknowledge Hinata and Sakura droops because Sasuke ain't paying attention to her. So much for team work. Lol.
But what impression does it give to the reader?
1) Sakura's love for Sasuke didn't really evolve did it? It's the same when in part one, she climbs the tree by gathering chakra in her feet to impress Sasuke but Sasuke doesn't pay attention to her and she slumps, highly disappointed. Same as here.
2) She makes it look like she is creating an opening by using a diversionary tactic, but it's quite obvious she is really scared, but is still trying to show off to Naruto and Sasuke because she doesn't wanna stay behind, gazing at their backs again. So she attacks Madara blindly. Her desire to show off and strut around trumps her desire to actually defeat Madara. What a shinobi, lol. This is a freaking war, and she is fighting against a super strong villain who is bent on destroying their world as they know it, but she is more concerned with nursing her own shortcomings. Self centred, yes. And definitely not a badass. Just ass. Hehe.
After getting rescued by Naruto yet again, she wallows in sadness when Sasuke doesn't even glance at her but immediately calls for Naruto, who btw totally gets what he is indicating at without needing to say it out loud. Yay, team seven. Lol. So while Sasuke and Naruto get into form and fight Madara, what does Sakura do?
Tumblr media
Precisely nothing. Just sitting there in awe of Sasuke and Naruto. Spellbound at Madara's jutsu and power, that she didn't know zilch about. Kakashi is pretty pointless here as well, but he wasn't the one who just proclaimed they remembered the teamwork lesson and jumped in a fight without any plan. At least, he had the presence of mind to stop Sakura from joining in the fight when Naruto and Sasuke charge at Madara and she again finds herself watching their backs, as he tells her to not do it unless she has a plan. And she does stop, lol. She doesn't have the power or strategy, just ego. All she wants is to impress Sasuke and show off to Naruto and others, who cares there's a war going on? Lol.
3) It becomes pretty clear who the real team is here. And Sakura is very pointedly missing from it. And it stays that way till the end, staying true to the real team seven dynamic. The Main Act.
So after hyping up the team work element, Kishi discards Sakura's inclusion with a ruthless but consistently written treatment and makes her...?
Redundant.
She couldn't heal Kakashi, she couldn't punch Madara. And she didn't mature, like Kakashi believed. Still pretty useless. Lol.
I am aware that her stans only read the most surface level. How else would they justify something they invest so much in? But unfortunately, it's a fact and not a matter of opinion that Kishi never intended to portray her positively and he certainly puts a hell lot of effort to do so in a clever manner. It's not a coincidence that she (along with Hinata) is such a hated character. It's because she has been portrayed that way. Storytelling and visual language are intuitive by nature. All I am doing here is decoding them. I am writing here what you already know. I am just explaining the how of it. Excuse the digressions lol.

Chiaki: Ahaha… I think the same could be said of you, Mikejima-san.

For instance, right before jumping, you should fully contract to gather as much power as you possibly can—

Never forget that if Hinata, the alleged "side character" (in the eyes of certain stans), wasn't there to cheer up Naruto before his fight against Neji, he would've continued to have low self-confidence and be in an uncharacteristically low mood, and he would've lost the match. Naruto would never have been publicly acknowledged by Konoha for the very first time in his life. [Chapters 98-105]
Never forget that if Hinata, the alleged "side character", wasn't there to try and fight against Pain, Naruto would never have met Minato and learned more about his backstory, Pain would've killed everyone in Konoha, and then Pain would've extracted Kurama and killed Naruto. Naruto would never have been publicly acknowledged by everyone in the world for the very first time in his life. [Chapters 437-450]
Never forget that if Hinata, the alleged "side character", wasn't there to slap some sense into Naruto after her own cousin just died trying to save them, or if Hinata herself was the one who died instead of Neji, Naruto would've lost the will to live, and he would've given up and joined Obito and Madara. Naruto would never have reconciled with Sasuke for good, won the war and saved the world, and be publicly acknowledged by everyone in the world as a hero for the rest of his life. [Chapters 614-616, 699]
Naruto would be either dead or he would've turned evil if Hinata, the alleged "side character", wasn't there for him. If Hinata was either never a part of Naruto's life, or if she died during any of those aforementioned pivotal moments, Naruto would never have become the person he is today. If Hinata was never there to save him with either her words or her actions, Naruto would never have achieved his lifelong dream of being publicly acknowledged by everyone.
Hell, we even saw what happened the one time Hinata did stop being in Naruto's life (temporarily): he lost the will to live, he gave up on his high-rank mission, and he wanted to let the world crash and burn and die along with it.
Interesting how Naruto realized that he could not live without Hinata, the alleged "side character." Interesting how Hinata, the alleged "side character", was irreplaceable and essential to Naruto. Interesting how Hinata, the alleged "side character", ended up being the most important and most precious person to Naruto. 🧐
I swear, Luna, it's almost like Hinata, the alleged "side character", is actually the real heroine, the true heroine, of the story. 🤔
Oh wait, that's right, Kishimoto himself said in 2010 that Hinata is more of a heroine instead of a certain someone else. And then in 2017, Kishimoto himself said that a certain someone else was used solely as a shipping tool thrown in the middle of Naruto/Hinata and was always planned to lose in that love triangle, a certain someone else was actually a side character like Kiba and Shikamaru, and a certain someone else was actually not a special female character after all.
What are the odds? 🙃
Excuse me while I sip this tea full of salty tears. 💁🏻‍♀️

III — THE UCHIHA KID — F. READER x TOBIRAMA SENJU
The babyboy that asked you for help turned out to be a member of the Uchiha clan and it's safe to say that he was terrified to face your husband. You, on the other hand, were more than willing to help him.
cw: none, just fluff — 3k words
SERIES MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
A boy, whose name was Kagami Uchiha, was a six years old orphaned baby of the clan that your husband fruitlessly warned you about many times. It was against your nature to prejudice but you understood his point of view, after reading every document regarding the history of founding Konoha and the warring period. The baby was instructed by the clan members to head to Tobirama, as he was responsible for housing issues in the village, as well as the orphanage. Unfortunately, it was stated strictly that every move or change in the location had to go through the office, because it was needed to be noted. That made it easier to keep the order or act if someone was in danger.
After you knocked, you peaked inside the office, seeing your husband at the desk, reading something.
“What is it?” he asked, not even lifting his head, consumed by the document.
“Sorry to bother you, my dear,” you spoke, drawing his attention to you and as he looked up, his features twisted just slightly in surprise. Last thing he was expecting was to see you with a child in your arms. “If you need to finish reading, I’ll wait outside.”
“No, come in and give me a minute.”
Giving it a nod, you closed the door behind you as he got back to the paper he was analyzing. Approaching the large, full-wall-sized window you showed the view to the boy, admiring the enlarged eyes he made, seeing the whole village and woods around it from here. But even if he was stunned, his little body couldn’t stop shaking and it broke your heart. You gave him a peck to the cheek, whispering that he’s safe here in hope that no more tears will be spilled but you suspected otherwise.
“Alright, you can sit down, I’m done,” Tobirama informed and you went to take a seat in front of his desk, when he got up, circling it and leaning against the top, intentionally placing his hands down on his sides not to scare the child further with his guarded form.
“Would you mind if I present your case?” you asked the boy and he nodded, hiding his little face in your neck. Smoothing his back, you looked up to your husband. “This little gentleman has lost both of his parents and is in need for a place to live. He asked me for help, afraid to come here alone.”
“Is that the Uchiha kid?” Tobirama asked, hinting that he knows something about the situation already.
“Kagami Uchiha, yes.”
“Earlier today I received a notice informing that his parents were assigned for a mission that failed,” he looked back at the scrolls he was reviewing earlier that day, trying to bring some details to his mind and an exhale assisted him coming to terms with the not-so-pleasant part of his work. So many years he wanted to achieve nothing else than peace where children wouldn’t have to suffer the war and yet, still conflicts result in sorrow. “Well, I will contact Uchihas to find a family for him, but I’m afraid it will take few days. Probably weeks. Up until this time, he’ll go to the orpha-“
“Would it be possible that you let me handle this issue and take care of this boy for the time we get an answer? I can pay a visit to Madara, it would be much quicker.”
Tobirama stayed silent for few moments, searching for a solution to the matter, just like he always does and you gave him the time to answer while smoothing Kagami’s back. Sensing the lack of wrath from your husband, he slowly began relaxing in your embrace, soon falling asleep on your shoulder, exhausted by everything that happened to him lately. You couldn’t imagine how distressed was that boy by losing both of his parents, losing his home and being forced to face a man that he was convinced hates him. During your previous talk, he even hinted that he’s afraid that Tobirama will kill him if he goes there alone.
“It might be slightly more efficient if you go to Madara yourself, since he has a soft spot for you,” your man spoke finally, crossing his arms over his chest, like he usually does when thinking about something. “Please, elaborate on taking care of him yourself?”
“Our home has more than enough space for this little one to spend few days in, without stressing him with the orphanage. If you’d agree, I promise I’ll take care of him so he won’t interrupt your routine.”
It was a lot to ask him, you were well aware of that but you were determined to help this baby out. Tobirama was mostly out of the house anyway, it shouldn’t be a problem to have a 5-year-old that would probably be sleeping all the time he’s back. The very thought of weighing this poor little soul with another burden such as orphanage was making your heart clench.
“Such a kind heart you have,” the man exhaled deeply, looking at the child that was sleeping cuddled to your body, feeling safe enough to allow himself to lose consciousness. “Always so keen to help the village.”
“Konoha is also my home now,” you smiled, “and this child did nothing wrong, he’s just six.”
“My schedule is full for the next days so I won’t be able to help you. Can you handle the issue alone?”
“I’m positive. I took care of many children in Yu, they always seem to like me,” you glanced at the boy, your face now stained with a soft smile. “And I’m sure that I can find a loving family to this baby by talking with people myself faster than the documents could.”
“So let be it,” Tobirama straightened up and you got up as well, happy to hear his response. “I should manage to prepare the documents by tomorrow, so they will be ready when you’re done with your search. Up until now, please make sure to provide what’s needed for this boy.”
“Yes, my Lord,” you smiled, giving him a kiss to the corner of his lips, before saying goodbye and leaving.
Tobirama stayed in place for a moment longer, his mind replaying the words you used to address him. It wasn’t out of ordinary for people to call him lord, he was hokage’s brother and arguably one of the most, if not the most important person in the village but you were the only one, who called him your Lord. He loved hearing those words, it made him feel like he was indeed yours and being yours came with pride to Tobirama. From the beginning he was focused on you staying by his side, and now, knowing how loving and pure-hearted you are, he was overjoyed to call himself yours. Your Lord, your husband, your dear. Everything you addressed him with made his heart flutter. You were really an angel sent from above and with that thought, he got back to work.
The night you spent sleeping in the guest room, next to the little boy that was too frightened to sleep alone in the foreign place, but relaxed immediately, feeling your body’s warmth next to him. To know you were a safe space for him, that he was able to find peace and security in you made your heart swell with joy.
The night you stayed alerted, sleeping lightly in order to notice if Kagami was having a calm dream and as the morning struck its light onto your face and you heard your husband getting ready to leave, you raised a little on your elbow. As if Tobirama sensed you’re awake, he peaked into the guest room, quietly approaching your side of the bed and motioning you to not leave the bed.
“Don’t get up, it’s alright,” he told you, taking a mental picture of how tenderly you kept the little boy to yourself. From the moment he’d seen you in his office the day before, he knew he won’t get the peace of mind now, his thoughts constantly circling around the depiction of you caring for your own child. Tobirama was never too keen on having his own spouse, hoping the bloodline will be passed down by Hashirama, but he couldn’t deny the image was tempting.
“I’m sorry, my dear,” you whispered. “I’ll bring you bento to your office.”
“Don’t worry about it. Was the night peaceful?”
“It was, yes”, you gave it a little nod, whilst Tobirama glanced at you two once again.
“I have to go now. You know where to find me.”
“Have a nice day.”
With a soft kiss planted on your temple, he was soon gone.
“He’s not that bad,” Kagami muttered against your chest and you smiled, smoothing his hair.
“Of course, he’s not,” you cooed quietly. “He may look scary, but has a good heart.”
Two weeks it took you to finalize the issue with Kagami and you couldn’t be happier with the outcome. The family you found with the help of Madara was a couple that couldn’t have their own children but dreamt of one. With tears they agreed to open their hearts to the young boy, thanking you, their ancestors and even gods for the gift and it thrilled you to know that he’s safe and sound now, with good people. The two were shinobi, with father that’s mid-ranked officer of Uchiha forces and a mother that’s skilled in ninjutsu, and you believed they can raise Kagami to be a powerful ninja in the future, that got to know parental love.
Collecting all of the documents and sharing few more moments with the boy, you promised him that he’s welcome to your home always and offered your help if he or his family needed anything. It broke your heart just a little to give him away, as you’ve become quite attached to him, but it was better for Kagami to grow among Uchihas, learn about their techniques and sharingan – things that you couldn’t teach him, especially when during the time you learned that a powerful ocular jutsu is coded in his blood line. You hoped that being raised with the clan will allow Kagami to grow into his full potential.
“Thank you, Madara,” you bowed slightly to the clan leader, when you were about to leave their district. “I think the family will cherish the future.”
“I think so too,” he responded. “I have to admit, it’s bold of you to involve in Uchiha matters, being a wife to Tobirama. You have my respect.”
“The child has nothing to do with the eternal conflict between your clan and the Senju. And I’m neither of those,” chuckling, you secured the scrolls into the pouch on your waist. “But I’m glad Kagami found a loving home, because if that wouldn’t be the case, I’d insist on raising him myself and that would make things a little complicated.”
“I imagine. You have a kind heart, I hope this world won’t corrupt it too quickly,” Madara lowered his head just slightly, in respect towards you. “If that’s all, I’ll return to my duties.”
“Of course. Thank you once again. I’ll leave now too.”
Exchanging quick goodbyes, you got back home to prepare food for your husband and while the rice was cooking, you tidied up a little. It was inevitable that a little bit of mess will set inside, as the child was staying there but it was nothing severe. Already missing Kagami, you sighed. The kid was just too adorable not to grow attached. He was just the right balance between quiet and loud, he loved to be hugged and often fell asleep while being in your embrace. With his little kisses on the cheek, you felt your heart flutter and grow, and even your husband, whom you wouldn’t call the best with children, liked the little Uchiha, although he would never admit it out loud. You noticed he was softer towards him; he even took the boy on his lap while in the office which was one of the most adorable moments you’ve witnessed, probably in your life. You were convinced he would agree if you asked to keep the baby, but that would be selfish of you. It truly was the best for him to be raised by Uchihas and just because you gave him to the new family didn’t mean you won’t ever see him again. You were informed to be welcome in their house whenever you feel like it and you also proclaimed yourself as the official aunt.
With the bento filled and packed, you locked the door and took a walk to the hokage office, where your husband also had his place but, in his workplace, you didn’t find him. Taking the liberty of entering without permission you approached his desk and placed the food and the scroll there, grabbing a piece of paper and a pen you sat down on his chair to write a note.
“Comfortable?” deep, familiar voice reached your ears when the doors opened and your husband entered his office. You looked up, watching him as he went across the room and before you reacted, he already pulled you away from the desk, grabbed your body like it weighted nothing and sat down, situating you on top of his thighs.
“Now I am,” you joked, kissing his cheek. “Good morning, my dear.”
“Good morning,” he took the letter you were writing and glanced over the text before putting it to one of his drawers. “How’s Kagami?”
“Safe in his new home. I already know he’ll be spoiled; they were on cloud nine taking him in. Madara was cooperative as well. I’d say everything went well,” you briefed, smoothing over the back of his neck. “All details and documents are inside those scrolls I brought you. I made sure to fill them to your standards.”
“I’m sure you did,” he chuckled. “Thank you for lunch.”
A smile bloomed on your face. “You’re welcome, my love.”
Love. That was the first time he heard this one specific word coming from your mouth and he wondered for a second if he misheard you, because surely, he had to. Love was a strong word, even though it wasn’t a confession, it still held one heavy emotional impact and Tobirama was convinced that love wasn’t what’s between you two. He loves you, yes. How could he not if you’re such a good person? A great shinobi that was ready to die for the village that wasn’t even your own, a golden heart keen to help everyone, a woman beautiful inside and outside. A perfect human being that he had the luck to marry through the political arrangement. But you had not that much reason to fall for him. You were patient and kind to him, just as you were to everybody else. You touched him, but you told him before marriage that it's your way of showing affection. You got up every day so early only to wish him a great day and make sure he has something to eat, even though you could sleep for a little longer before starting your day. Could that be out of love and not out of wife’s duty?
“I have one more meeting today and it’s possible I’ll be free a little earlier today,” he said finally, breaking out of his own spiral of overthinking, “would you want to join me for a walk this evening?”
“I would absolutely love to,” smiling, you leaned your head over his shoulder, inhaling his scent gently pulling down his collar so you could press your lips against his skin. “I shouldn’t take your time while you’re at work, should I?”
“I have few more minutes before I need to leave for a meeting and I’ll gladly give those to you.”
“In that case, I’ll gladly accept them.”
It didn’t take long for Tobirama’s lips to find yours, locking them in a kiss filled with longing. He himself was surprised of how much his body yearned for the closeness of yours, after two weeks of very limited contact due to a child in your home that consumed all of your attention. You’ve got him so used to your affections that he found himself unable to exist correctly without them. What have you done to him? All of his life, Tobirama believed that emotional attachment was a barrier; that it’s something he cannot afford in order to stay strong and reliable, but you proved him wrong. You proved that not only he needs feelings in his life but also, they make him stronger than he was before. You made him stronger; you made him a better leader; you showed him that softness isn’t synonymous to weakness and the young Senju liked who he’d become with you by his side.
You could feel how hungry your man was, how starved of affection he had become in just those few days and it thrilled you, excitement coursing through your veins as you run your fingers through his silver hair. At the beginning, although agreeing to your touches, he wasn’t keen to reciprocate your gestures. He had to learn how to be physical with you, because before that only contact that involved two bodies was confined to battle. But Tobirama being a smart man, learned quickly that it’s not unusual for couples to share touches, to kiss, to sleep together. He learned that intimacy is first and foremost for pleasure, not only to reproduce. All of it made you happy. It meant he had opened to you, dropped down his guard and let you into his world that before you was strictly restricted to laws and orders.
Biting on his lower lip you smiled, letting your hand brush the nape of his neck. Taking in his little gasp, you broke the kiss, resting your forehead against his and smoothing the light skin of his cheek, avoiding the red dashes he painted on his face every morning.
“What have you done to me?” he whispered, calming his breath.
“You’re welcome,” kissing him once more, you got up from his legs. “When should I expect you?”
“I’ll wrap things up around 8PM.”
“So, I’ll pick you up at 8. We’re set. Now, focus on the meeting and don’t forget to eat, alright?”
“Alright.”

I feel like I will never understand the people who think that Kakashi should have stayed dead in the Pain arc, since according to them he doesn't do anything relevant afterwards. I feel that if that had been the case, Kakashi would have had an unfinished character development. For me, people forget all the nice moments the character gave us (like, for example, him carrying Naruto), or all the characters he saved, or that he was the one who discovered how Obito's technique worked and that he was also the one who made the plan to seal Kaguya. Idk why they think he should have died there...
Without Kakashi
-Obito’s reveal would have held no weight. Like honestly the only reason we feel anything anout Obito’s reveal is because of his connection to Kakashi.
-Sasuke and Naruto would never have sealed Kaguya. The two of them were trying time and time again and it wasn’t until Kakashi entered the fight with Sussano and put into action a plan of his own that they FINALLY succeed.
- Obito would have never come back to the ‘good’ side. Naruto knocked some sense into Obito but Obito only gave up fighting at that point. It was Kakashi who brought Obito to their side in the fight.
-Sakura would have died, MULTIPLE TIMES. Heck, just from the change to the lava dimension her and Obito would have died as it was Kakashi who saved all of them.
-Obito’s heart would never have been destroyed, thus destroying Madara’s seal on it and giving Obito the freedom to break away from Madara.
- Naruto would probably have approached Danzo about sasuke and been locked away, forcing him to sit down and leaving no one to approach the Raikage about Sasuke, or forcing him to go Rogue to try and fight for Sasuke. It was Kakashi who chose to ignore rules and take Naruto to the Raikage to plead for Sasuke’s life.
-Sasuke would have killed Sakura. End point. Naruto saved her the second time, but Kakashi saved her the first time. If Kakashi was dead Naruto would have arrived to a dead Sakura.
-No one would have brought Naruto to the village and he would have passed out in the forest after his interaction with Nagato and Konan. It was Kakashi who arrived looking for him and carried him back to Konoha.
- Danzo would have been granted title of Hokage right away without struggle. Kakashi was the only one offered up as an opposing choice, and there was no one else the elder’s or even the daiymo would have seriously considered (For the daiymo connection matters, as shown by how quickly they recognized Kakashi by him being the ‘son of the White fang’
But most importabtly
That would have been an absolute shit ending. Kakashi is a character who has always been about dying to protect his precious people.
That was what he thought his worth was. Dying to protect ither’s and the village.’
Him living is what he needed.
Him living allowed him to realize he had worth as more than just a weapon, and that he was allowed to heal and be happy.
If he stayed dead in the pein arc he never would have gotten closure about Obito and Rin’s death, which would feel empty as by that point we’ve learned a bit about his past.
It’s the whole ‘gai should have died in the war’ shit all over again.
They could have died, but then they would just be feeding into the idea that they were fodder for the greater war machine with no worth other than to die for the cause
That was exactly the story kishi was trying to change
What naruto and others wanted so badly to change
Kakashi, Gai and other’s living was the purpose of the story because Naruto’s goal was to have a world where people didn’t die needless deaths.
Kakashi surving was part of Naruto achieving that goal
Putting an end to countless needless deaths.
It’s why Nagato brought the people of Konoha back. He realized that he was perpetuating what he had felt by killing others, and by placing his trust in naruto to change things for the better he chose to display that trust by being the first step and bringing those he killed back.
By ending the cycle of needless death

Day 6: Jutsu gone right
This is a series written for @madatobiweek.
This time, Tobirama didn’t even try to suppress his curse. He quickly retreated, getting at least a small distance between him and Madara whose face was twisted into a downright heinous grin. He carelessly stepped onto the outer line of the spell circle, seemingly not even noticing it. His lips curled into an amused smile when he stared at Tobirama.
“Look at you, feeling so strong with your ridiculous little book and your even more ridiculous spell circle. Even if I was a demon, you wouldn’t stand a chance with this crap,” he said, his voice changing more with every word. Had he sounded like a poor imitation of Madara before, his voice now took on a whole new quality. Even his intonation of the words changed and if Tobirama had closed his eyes, he would have never known that it was Madara standing in front of him.
“Well, even if you’re not a demon, you sure as hell aren’t Madara either,” Tobirama said, straightening his shoulders. Whatever this was, it was clearly malevolent and somehow, this steeled his resolve. He wasn’t keen on harming Madara but he would if he had to in order to keep the village safe.
Madara shrugged and gave another high, clear laugh that sounded nothing like him. In fact, it didn’t even sound like a man at all. “You might be right about that,” he chuckled. The corners of his mouth twitched in amusement but his eyes remained entirely blank.
Tobirama slowly shook his head. He had been so sure that he was dealing with a demon that he hadn’t even considered any other explanations. The thing had made it clear with its last statement that it was indeed not Madara but yet he was fairly sure that it was his body. Tobirama tilted his head and quickly thought it through. Whatever the thing was, it didn’t seem to want to attack him immediately. Instead, it seemed more like a cat that wants to play with its prey before killing it. And this was something he could take advantage of. He crossed his arms and glared at the thing that was not Madara. “So, how do you control his body?” he asked, tensely awaiting a reply.
And the thing walked right into his trap. “You know, it’s not even that tricky,” it said with a bubbly laugh. “But I’m not going to share my secrets with you.”
Tobirama forced himself to remain expressionless while triumph rushed through his body. This was the confirmation he had needed. He was indeed standing in front of Madara himself, just that his body and mind were controlled by someone or something else. But his triumph quickly faded away when he realized what that meant. If this body was indeed Madara’s body, he couldn’t fight properly if he wasn’t willing to risk Madara’s life. And even though he couldn’t stand him and would prefer to never have to interact with him again, harming Madara wasn’t an option unless there was no other way to keep the village safe.
Tobirama gritted his teeth and tried to control the thoughts and ideas rushing through his mind. In the meantime, the thing had stepped closer to him, a condescending smile on its lips that would’ve looked exactly like Madara if it weren’t for the blank stare in his eyes. “Oh, you poor thing. Look at you trying to come up with an escape plan,” it sneered.
Tobirama glared at it and weighed his options. It was possible that the thing was lying and it was indeed a demon but that didn’t seem very likely to him. Since it seemed to entirely override Madara’s own mind, it was also unlikely to be some kind of infection or parasite. Whatever it was, it had to be something clinging to Madara’s mind or body – and there was one thing Tobirama knew that would possibly be able to make a difference.
He retreated into the shadows and closed his eyes, trying to ignore the footsteps coming closer. He focused all his willpower on what he wanted to achieve and quickly formed three hand seals. The footsteps grew closer and he opened his eyes again, only to spring forward and tap Madara’s hand that was already grasping at him. He felt Madara’s warm breath on his skin when he stopped mid-movement, his dead eyes wide opened.
Tobirama slowly took a step back and then another one, keeping a close eye on Madara who looked like he had been snap-frozen. It was an eerie sight and even though it was exactly how it should be, it sent a shiver down Tobirama’s spine. Up until the last second, he hadn’t been sure whether his genjutsu had worked. It was a rather simple one but it was easy to make a mistake when in a tight corner. But since Madara didn’t move a single muscle, he quickly moved on to the next step of his makeshift plan. The second genjutsu required more hand seals and in his haste, he almost forgot one of them. He managed to catch himself in time and finished the sequence of hand seals just in time for Madara’s eyelids starting to flutter. His first genjutsu had been a rather simple method to paralyze the opponent for a short while during which one could prepare his next move. Madara himself would have never let himself be affected by a jutsu as simple as this one but apparently, the thing wasn’t as good of a shinobi if one at all. Tobirama’s second genjutsu was the one he set his hope on. He had barely finished the last hand seal when Madara burst into action, charging at him with his teeth bared. Tobirama had to force himself to wait until the last second, clumsily dodging his attack so that Madara’s fist only grazed him. But when they touched, Tobirama hissed at him – and Madara started screaming when flames set his body ablaze.
Tobirama quickly backed off and his hair stood on end when he watched Madara squirming and writhing, screaming in agony as the flames consumed his body. And even though he knew that it was only a genjutsu, his heart dropped to his guts while listening to the splitting screams. He knew that the flames that were only visible to Madara engulfed his body, burning him alive. Only the certainty that the real Madara would know that this was only a genjutsu kept him from ending the jutsu right there and then. Madara dropped to his knees, writhing in pain while his screams took on a desperate tone. But suddenly, his whole body jerked and his eyes widened. Tobirama’s heart skipped a beat when he suddenly saw a pained expression in Madara’s eyes.
“Don’t … stop … now,” Madara squeezed out, fighting for air.
And just like that, the expression left his eyes again, leaving behind the eerie blank stare that didn’t want to fit the panic in his face. He groaned, digging his nails into his skin, leaving bloody marks all over his body when he clawed at the imaginary flames seething around him.
Tobirama’s hands started trembling and it took him everything he had to stand by and watch as Madara squirmed in pain, his screams getting more high-pitched with every passing moment. But when he started clawing at his face, Tobirama couldn’t hold himself back anymore. He jumped forward and grabbed Madara’s wrists, keeping him from scratching at his face even more. Before Tobirama had reached him, he had already scratched his cheeks, forming two red lines from his eyes down to his jaw. Two thin trickles of blood ran down his face, almost like bloody tears. He struggled against Tobirama and almost broke away from him, but Tobirama’s grip was ironclad. He flinched when Madara’s head jerked up, shaking violently. Something flickered in his eyes and suddenly, he saw the anger and despair in his gaze.
Madara’s nails dug into his wrists as he gasped, “Destroy it … destroy the amulet!”
And only a split second later, his eyes were bottomless pits again. But this time, the thing seemed to notice Tobirama and it clawed at him, hissing hatefully. “You’re going down with me,” it snarled, its fingers almost piercing Tobirama’s skin.
He yelped and tried to pull back but this time it was the thing holding on to him, keeping him from breaking free. One hand clasping his arm, it freed its other hand and pulled something from Madara’s pocket. Tobirama threw himself back when he saw the silver of the kunai flashing in the moonlight. A sharp pain shot through his body when the kunai slashed his skin, barely missing his throat. And with the movement of his arm, Madara’s jacket opened a crack, revealing a silver amulet with an obsidian in the middle of it.
Tobirama’s eyes widened and the thing followed his gaze. When it saw the amulet, it hissed furiously and shoved him away. Tobirama stumbled backwards, his gaze still fixed on the amulet. Thoughts raced through his mind and he barely managed to dodge the thing’s next attack when it charged at him, swinging the kunai wildly. For a moment, he thought about explosion seals which would most definitely destroy the amulet – but also Madara himself. And when the thing attacked him again, he finally had an idea. He quickly retreated until there was enough distance between them. And while the thing raised its arm, aiming for his chest, Tobirama formed five hand seals.
Tiger, rat, horse, snake, dragon.
Then he clasped his hands and a stream of water shot out of his mouth, thundering against Madara’s chest, bringing him to his knees. The faint crack of metal was almost drowned out by his splitting scream. In the same moment, something hit Tobirama’s shoulder and he staggered backwards, wincing in pain. He allowed himself a quick glance at his shoulder and cursed when he saw the kunai that had pierced deep into his shoulder. After he had made sure that his injury wasn’t immediately threatening, he quickly looked up – and froze when he saw Madara laying motionless on the ground.
“Fuck,” Tobirama squeezed out and rushed towards him. For a split second he considered whether this could be a trap but he had to make sure that Madara was still alive. He had tried to keep his jutsu weak enough so that it wouldn’t cut right through Madara’s body but in the heat of the moment, he wasn’t sure whether his plan had worked out.
His heart started thundering in his chest when he dropped to his knees next to Madara who was laying on his back, his eyes closed. Tobirama quickly put two fingers on his neck, searching for a pulse, while hastily opening Madara’s jacket with his other hand. The jacket revealed the amulet that was cleanly broken in two pieces, the crack running right beside the obsidian, but Tobirama shoved it aside carelessly, desperately palpating Madara’s chest. Relief washed through his body when he couldn’t find any injury except for where Madara had clawed at himself, leaving bloody streaks. Tobirama closed his eyes and held his breath, fearfully focusing on his right hand. And slowly, very slowly he started to feel a faint heartbeat under his fingers. He carefully pulled his hand back and looked at Madara’s face for a moment. He was still unconscious but Tobirama could see his chest moving softly with every breath.
With a sigh of relief, he let himself sink down next to Madara and closed his eyes for a moment. The sharp pain in his shoulder grew with every minute and he clenched his teeth, grabbing the hilt of the kunai with his other hand, trembling at the thought of what he had to do next. He took a deep breath and pulled at the hilt. Tobirama couldn’t stifle the groan when the kunai slid out of his flesh with a squishing sound. He dropped the kunai to the ground next to him carelessly and pressed his hand on the wound, his blood feeling warm against his skin. He needed something to bandage the wound immediately, otherwise he’d not be awake much longer. He had already lost quite a bit of blood during the fight but now that he had removed the kunai, the wound was bleeding heavily.
Tobirama had just made the decision to rip the other sleeve of his jacket off when he heard footsteps approaching rapidly. He barely had the chance to lift his head and recognize who was running towards them through his increasingly hazy field of vision when he already heard someone screaming at him.
“What the fuck is this about?” Hashirama’s voice thundered through the night, drilling into his skull and Tobirama winced. He blinked wearily and somewhere in the darkness above him he could see Hashirama’s horrified face.
“It’s not what it looks like,” he muttered, his voice sounding more washed-out with every word. His body started feeling cold and suddenly he felt the urge to lay down next to Madara and close his eyes.
“What’s going on?” his brother asked and Tobirama thought about replying but he couldn’t find the resolve in himself to do it. Instead, he shrugged helplessly and yelped when another wave of pain surged through his body at the movement.
Hashirama’s voice took on a concerned tone and Tobirama saw him towering over him, his eyes wide opened. His voice was trembling when he asked, “Tobi, are you hurt?”
Tobirama blinked and he felt a hysterical chuckle bubble up in his throat. “I’m fine,” he mumbled, giving his brother a crooked smile.
The fear in Hashirama’s eyes was the last he saw before the world turned black and he felt himself fall.

Rant 01: Madara wasn't an evil soul as one would think.
Madara Uchiha.
A man who was misunderstood and viewed as a power-hungry villain over the decades. He was a truer man than most in the anime and spoke what he thought and felt on a profound level of intelligence. As a Capricorn, he doesn't sugar-coat. He is a leader, a bit rude but you can understand his perspective once u get to know his upbringing and background.
He wasn't an evil person.
Tumblr media
Yes, he was a gentle and kind-hearted man in the Warring Era in his younger years but the light of his heart was chipped away little by little the more he lost what he held dear. His brothers, his friends, children amongst his generation, his baby brother, the clan, and lastly his hope which was betrayed by the one he trusted most. Hashirama.
Can you imagine trying to stay positive after everything you give your slivers of chance to are snatched from your very eyes? How can he be viewed as evil? What, because of his idea of total control of the shinobi world? If it were you, could you still view the world as "peaceful, thriving, and harmonious"?
Just like any other human species, he experienced a number of emotions he masked very well for the sake of battle and his clan. As strong as he is and the image he was portrayed to be is the ego from these emotions: neglect, loss, depression, isolation, dissociation, paranoia, hatred, agony, and betrayal. Could you have gone through all those psychological shifts and remain sane?
Hm, definitely not. I think most of us would become mental after a couple of losses. He lost MANY things.
Tumblr media
Just like in the anime, he is viewed as someone for control, dominance, and power. (This behavior is rooted in parental alienation of childhood where his father found it mandatory for Madara to be a "weapon instead of a child at a young age which is what he was raised upon the teachings of his father). Those very goals are manifested from a life-changing loss and deep-seated hatred.
Remember when Hashirama was speaking to him in the Uchiha Shrine and he began to go into a spiral while articulating his "true dream"? Ideally, some would say he is crazy or not listening to reason.
Ask yourself this though: How can someone CHOOSE to lose their sanity after experiencing a MYRIAD of mental and physiological spikes and dives?
Then after his first "death" he was LITERALLY a wandering ghost. As the namesake, The Ghost of the Uchiha. Over the decades his name was spoken with an energy of power and intimation even in his death. A soul with malice and all negative forces and karma attached to its name.
So yeah... He did what he thought was right with good intentions but his wired mind from his era drove him into doing maddening things to achieve what he couldnt before. His worldview was distorted, guys...
His actual evolving death and conversation with Edo Hashirama at the end proves this.
And that's it for this rant.

what would Tajima's family be like when he dies their feelings reactions maybe...will they have the M sharingan ,Ringo ?🤔 after all he is a good father and good spouse 🥲
Group consciousness would still be a strong family unit, even while dealing with their loss
Sumi would make sure to have a brave face in public, her tears would only be shed in the privacy of her home. She promised Tajima long ago that should he die before her, she would keep living and guiding their family. Which she does, just a bit less joyful
Madara wouldn’t be surprised given the fact that people die in battle all the time and his father wasn’t exactly young. It would hurt, but he knows his old man would expect him to take over leadership of the Uchiha without the theatrical grieving
Inari would act as the comforting voice of reason for his mother and siblings. He’ll miss his father of course, but he finds it’s easier to focus on good memories
Kota is a mess and he just wants to be left alone. He wasn’t able to achieve the things he wanted to to impress his father and now he’s just gone.
Tenko wouldn’t cry but he would feel his father’s absence heavily as Tajima was always there to try and “correct” him. Definitely would decided to name a future son after him
Izuna keeps his feelings to himself. If he feels like he’s about to cry about losing his father, he’s going to train harder. If it’s unavoidable, he’s going to find a private place to let it all out.
Ringo cries a lot and begins sleeping in her parents room and following Sumi about to not be left alone. She’s the one who would bring up missing Tajima the most but she would also have the hardest time remembering him after awhile

What do you think of Madara and Obito?
What do you think, anon? I mean…
Tumblr media
They are not the kind of people I like to hang out with, certainly.
Tumblr media
I mean, I understand their rage. I am not saying their motives are not valid. I am not saying you are to blame if you go insane after losing everything, after feeling so betrayed and being treated with so much injustice. After seeing how everything you worked so hard for, your last hopes for yourself and those who you hold dear, stumbles and falls before your eyes. But Obito did help in the massacre of my clan, supposedly after being manipulated by Madara and following whatever plan he entrusted to him. Do I have to forgive them because they are Uchiha?
I don’t know if this is going to be controversial or what, but what is the reason for Obito to take “revenge” against the Uchiha in the name of Madara? Even if they were wrong, even if Madara felt they betrayed him, even if they choose a path that he did not agree with. Even if reason was on his side. You just don’t kill family for that. Obito had the power to help his kind, to prevent the massacre. And he didn’t, he just killed his family in cold blood. The family Izuna was so desperate to protect. If Madara taught him that logic, he must have been completely insane. And if not, what was Obito’s justification? Trauma for losing his girlfriend? And why? The Uchiha had nothing to do with imprisoning and spreading tailed beasts around the world to make friends for Hashirama. They had nothing to do with anything that happened to Rin.
You know? I think if you are treated always as an outcast, if they convince you that there is something wrong with you in essence, that your nature is to be eventually possessed by some kind of inevitable evil, and thus you can’t be trusted… If you are severely traumatized by the cruelty of war, and all you have experienced is that you deserve to be nothing but a tool to achieve an end, an end more important than preserving human life… I don’t know, maybe you end up believing it? Why does Obito himself repeat the bullshit of the curse of hatred? Why does he help spread hate against his own? He is so alienated he makes sense no more.
I don’t even think helping with the massacre was necessary to advance on his plan. And I don’t know what would have happened if Itachi did not have help that night. I love Itachi and I can forgive him and understand that he was coerced to do that. I can’t feel the same towards Madara or Obito. They just don’t have that privilege, call me hypocrite if you want.
They seek a world without pain, peace… Well, know what? They helped my world to be hell. And moreover… Obito knew the truth about my brother and let me confront him. He knew that would destroy me, that I would go insane with pain. And he did so anyway, just trying to manipulate me for his own ends. Well, sorry, but I can’t forgive that. His good guy façade in the end only involved regret for starting the war and doing things that bothered Konoha. He did not regret for a single second anything related to the massacre of my clan.
So I don’t like them. I straight up hate them. Sorry.

CNstars 3rd Anniversary 🌹 In the Maze 1 & 2
Tumblr media
Rei: Oh, as expected of the Little Miss - she got here in the blink of an eye. Though it’s a maze, the dazzling array of flowers makes people lose their way more than the complex pathways.
Madara: Hahaha! I’ve grown flowers before, so the ones responsible for these flowers probably spared no effort♪
Tumblr media
Rei: Ah~I recall the selection and arrangement of flowers was Mikejima-kun’s work, could it be you were waiting to share this in front of Little Miss? You’re a troublesome guy.
Madara: Sure enough nothing gets by you, huh⭐️ But seeing Anzu-san immerse herself in these flowers and completely relax her body and mind, it’s really gratifying to Mama♪
Rei: Mikejima-kun is quite attentive - baby’s breath, sunflowers…. no matter what kind of flower you can see a shadow of the Little Miss. The path ahead also has various flowers in bloom right? We’re looking forward to it~
Madara: Don’t worry, after all this wasn’t the only task assigned to me, and it was more of a warm up leading up to the celebration for Anzu-san. I went all out you know⭐️
Rei: Are you worried there’s still a lot of the maze left? In the past, there were times when we would get lost, but we always had companions at our side. In this maze, you need only focus on choosing where to go. No matter the path, we will accompany you.
If you’re not sure how to proceed, try flower divination. Flowers contain an ancient and mysterious power. Perhaps they won’t tell you which way is correct, but it will let you understand where your heart leads….. ♪
Madara: Of course, when you’re feeling lost you’re welcome to rely on Mama whenever⭐️ Cheer up, and let’s continue!
In the Maze 2
Tumblr media
Ibara: Well well, Lady Producer ended up getting so far into the maze, the exit is close at hand! It’s been such a wonderful time, it’s a pity that we have to see it end…..♪
Eichi: I rarely share the same feelings as Saegusa-kun, but we still want Anzu-chan to grasp the gift we prepared for her with her own hands. That’s the very goal and purpose for this maze to exist.
Ibara: Are you pleased with the surprises we designed for you? Seeing Anzu-san’s blooming smile, the time we spent on this was not in vain⭐️
Oh? Why did we devote so much time to prepare all this? Hahaha, I would never do something that wasn’t also cost-effective!
Of course, merely just saying thank you or handing you a gift wouldn’t be enough to convey our gratitude towards you on such an important day.
Tumblr media
Ibara: Moreover, we have His Eminence Eichi here who values a ‘sense of ceremony’, and insists that ‘there’s no happiness without hardship’!
Eichi: Saegusa-kun’s words always makes you second guess their meaning. Could it be that Saegusa-kun doesn’t agree that victory is sweeter when there’s a little ‘salt’, so to say? I thought that we would’ve felt the same about this.
But, seeing Anzu-chan happily challenge the maze, I’ll just take what you said as an agreement. Moreover, being in this flower maze for a while has even relaxed my own body and mind.
Ibara: This time, in the name of Anzu-san and His Eminence Eichi- and in cooperation with all the idols, we achieved results beyond our expectations. I can’t help but see other opportunities for everyone to collaborate…..♪
Eichi: Haha, Saegusa-kun never fails to think about work. You and Anzu-chan are similar on this point. Though this was meant to let Anzu-chan have some rest and relaxation, you should also lead by example.
Tumblr media
Eichi: The maze is almost at its end, Anzu-chan. Let’s walk on this path together earnestly, with a ‘sense of ceremony’.

Obito ask! Modern AU. We know what happened in canon. What kind of life would Modern Obito have? Would he have any family left? Who raised him? What about his job? I'm really interested. I have this image of him, and I'm curious if yours is similar!
I try my very best to not let things deviate from the canon characterization and certain events regardless of the AU, even if there are a LOT of differences in terms of what the character goes through. The nice thing about Modern AUs is that it's a very flexible type of alternate universe, everything in a way can make sense as long as nothing breaks that character and makes them OOC. xD
So my version of Obito is a bit complex, but it's like this:
Obito is orphaned - parents died when he was young; and ended up getting raised by Madara. He's this cute, sweet, warm, bubbly and excited boy that we all know but tries his very best to work hard in school and impress others and had to endure a lot of criticism from Madara who wants him to realize his potential. Obito has always been the type to pave his own path and wants to achieve his own ambitions, so his relationship with Madara was sometimes tense and rocky because of how much they quarreled as Obito grew up and became rebellious.
Or maybe he'd grow up with his grandmother and she'd raise him and he ends up taking care of her as she gets older. Filial piety is a prominent and traditional norm in Eastern culture, and I tend to incorporate the Japanese culture into this AU because I think it's beautiful and respectful.
i'd say he had a pretty humble life, he's very selfless and determined until the day where he gets into an accident which leads to him having facial scars, and because that was a traumatic event in his life, his personality shifts into someone more reserved and stern and somewhat of a sexy cunt. Sometimes I envision him as someone who smokes when he's stressed, or someone who copes by going to the gym (mostly going for the latter). He's the type that hits the classy, quiet bars; before the accident he was sort of a party guy but that's out the window later.
The type of job he'd have would either be something corporate in which he owns his own company, or he'd be a cop? I have trouble deciding because it just depends on the setting and the pairing, lol. Maybe he'd be a martial artist and own a dojo? xD Either way, I'd say Obito is a total workaholic, where he projects this need to prove himself through his job because he had to endure growing up with a lot of criticisms and feeling like he's never good enough.
I mentioned he's a gym junkie...well, yeah, he is. xD He can't be a smoker and a gym junkie, so if I had to choose, I'd choose the gym. xDD
That's all I have for now. xD

ABYSS - Epilogue 4
Author: Akira
Characters: Kanata, Madara, Kaoru, Souma
Translator: Mika Enstars
"Yet, you guys left something behind. How come?"
Season: Winter
Location: Seaside
Tumblr media
Kaoru: Kanata-kun is just like his mother in that respect, huh?
Kanata: ? Kaoru, have you met my mother before?
Kaoru: Oh no, not at all. I mean, you guys and I never met in the past.
I just felt I could get a vague idea of what your mother was like, just by listening to the story. I feel she was probably just like you, Kanata-kun.
Kanata: Well, we did grow up in a similar “environment”.
We were raised to be a “god”, not a “human”, and lived life as such.
Kaoru: You all couldn’t stand to see “someone so pitiful”, so you all went out of your way to intervene, right? It sounds like Souma-kun and Mikejima-kun were trying to support and save Kanata-kun.
That’s probably the truth behind the incident, right? It’s possible you’re following in the footsteps of your mother’s life, Kanata-kun.
You also quit being “God” for one reason for another, without fully why yourself, didn’t you? Just like your mother.
Your feelings now and your mother’s feelings back then have quite a bit of similarities, don’t you think?
How you feel it would have been better if it all had just disappeared without a trace, leaving nothing behind, nothing to tell. But think about those you leave behind, ‘kay? It’s hard to clean up afterwards.
Yet, you guys left something behind.
How come?
Kanata: …Ahh, got it, I understand. Thanks to you Kaoru, I think I finally understand Mother’s “feelings”.
I love you all, so very much.
I’m sure Mother did as well.
I still wanted to stay among those who I love so very much.
Tumblr media
Kanata: That’s why, I left it behind. Even if it was only a little bit. Even if it confused those who I had left behind.
I wanted you to think about me. And, I wanted you to remember me.
I left it behind because I wanted to remain in everyone’s “hearts”, didn’t I?
That’s all there is to it.
Tumblr media
Souma: Shinkai-dono~! Mikejima-dono~! Oh, and Hakaze-dono, as well![1]
Kaoru: Don’t you just treat me poorly?
Kanata: Hehe. If anything, I envy that you seem to get “special treatment” from him.
Kaoru: Hmm, so you’re jealous of me too, huh? I’m kinda happy about that.
Souma: What are you talking about? More importantly, behold! The sky has begun to weep!
In short, it’s raining! Shouldn’t we all take shelter in the club room before we all get soaking wet?
Tumblr media
Kanata: But I’m already “soaking wet”~
Souma: That you are…. You’ll end up catching a cold again, Shinkai-dono. You worry me. You must keep your body dry and warm.
To achieve that, taking shelter from the rain is necessary. And I would appreciate if you could help clean up the club room, in addition.
Madara: Right. It’s more efficient to do it with a crowd than by all by yourself, isn’t it?
I’ll lend you a hand. It’ll be for having helped me rescue Kanata-san in the past.
Souma: That’s very like you to say, Mikejima-dono, but… Isn’t the repayment you’re giving sort of out of proportion compared to the kindness I gave?
Tumblr media
Madara: …Hahaha! ♪
Kanata: ? What’s so funny, Mikejima?
Madara: Nah, it’s probably just a coincidence. There are no ghosts or gods in this world, after all.
But it was as if your mother was concerned about you being by yourself, so she made it rain to give you company.
Though I know such a thing isn’t possible, but thinking about it made me laugh.
Kanata: Hehe, yeah, you’re right. Mother is no longer a god, she can no longer make it “rain”.
But, yes, I hope so too.

1. It’s not too noticeable in the screenshots, but it begins to rain in-game at this point!

izuleo for the ship ask game!
i fear i might write an essay on this one dshg
What made you ship it? a true question for the ages. i really wish i could remember what story was my izuleo awakening but they've been in my head for over a year now and it's been fantastic. there's just so much that draws me to them, i think. sometimes it's just things like they were each other's first friend and saw each other as equals and were apparently attached at the hip at near all times while at yumenosaki that a few characters bring it up. even outside of a romantic context, they mean so much to each other and love each other and that is so,, good.
What are your favorite things about the ship? obviously there's what i already said above with them meaning so much to each other. they are also unironically obsessed with each other and sometimes it's so funny (and sometimes it makes me a little sad like concerto where leo brings up izumi like. four times or smth and madara is like hey leo-san maybe you should go talk to izumi and leo is like hmm no, i'll just continue to write music and have him sing it as an idol without him ever knowing it's my music (to which madara points out that izumi will definitely know it's leo's music)). they wholeheartedly believe in each other's talents and they see each other as equals and there really is something about leo wanting to help izumi achieve his dream bc he sees izumi as having helped him achieve his own dream. do you ever think about how leo was perfectly fine with starting over with izumi in requiem, to have that space between them when izumi would be moving to italy post graduation, even says that they're destined to come back to each other (makoto standing there like 🧍‍♂️ the entire time as leo's saying all of this), but that seems to go completely out the window once izumi has his whole i loved your smile but the world took it away from you and i didn't know what to do to get it back and maybe i've been the idiot this whole time speech. like they spend so much of ! slowly getting back to each other and returning to what they had presumably in their first year, or even pre checkmate, but izumi is scared of hurting leo again while leo sort of tests the waters here and there, but ultimately does keep himself at a bit of a distance (ofc there are exceptions to them being a little unsure of where they stand with each other, that "i'm home, sena" part in horoharo, diner live as a whole, the part in starfes when they go to get shu and izumi ends up vaguing leo and calls him leo-kun there again). like part of the reason why leo is so upset in requiem is that izumi has apparently been planning to just,, leave the country after graduation and told eichi of all people before him (though it's not like izumi planned for that to happen, he said that all of the class sort of shared their plans i think), so he resigns himself to backing off and allowing for izumi to leave since they'll meet again and start over. yet by the end of requiem we learn that leo has effectively moved to florence only a few weeks later and lives in some shit apartment, but spends most of his time at izumi's like leo tsukinaga i know what you are. (and don't get me started on leo backing off again once him and izumi have that argument that's mentioned in reloaded, a dark night's passing, and next door about leo getting work for izumi and it bothering izumi bc he feels like it's undermining his own abilities to get work bc that's a whole other essay) anyway. i love them so much and it shows. i have more but we'll be here all day if i go on so i'll try to condense it. there's really just something about them that really is built different, their bond really is something else, platonic or romantic. i think they deserve to have a nice happy life together being silly, hopefully they get to act like the kids they didn't have the chance to be.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? again, i really don't know what kind of opinions are out there abt them since i usually just stick to my little corner of the enstars fandom. i know i'm not the only one who thinks this so idk if it's unpopular but i really don't think they would pursue anything romantic until they're in italy. like sure there's pining and all of that in hs, but i don't think they would really do anything about it then, they're still angsting then sadghk also they're ace to me <33 if there's an opportunity to spread my ace izlo agenda, i will take it lmao
