I’ve never met a Virgo man before hehe but is the stereotype true that they’re all perfectionists??
there are always other factors that come into play so I don't like to blanket statement, but typically yes!!

DPxDC Prompt
Thinking back on it, Danny probably should have been more wary of being given the title ‘Ender Of Timelines’.

i think a part of the 'you have not begun to see the horrors of love' will include varun and alecto. like, what does it mean for two planets to love each other?
varun clearly likes her, if 'my green-and-yellow salt water thing' is anything to go by (side note: why green and yellow??? i guess the green is reference to the ocean, and the yellow means there's less trees, but still. what happened to earth????) and the feeling is mutual at least on nona's end, but how far back do they go?
earth being able to gift john necromancy implies, at least to me, that planets in general know what the river is. so have varun and earth been hitting each other up through that, and that's how alecto got her message out to the other planets as she and they were all dying?
Congratulations on possibly the most esoteric ship in the entire Locked Tomb fandom.
I think of Varun as her cousin, or older sibling, but however we want to look at it with our human frames of reference, I bet you're right. Varun does love Alecto, and somewhere down under all the fear and pain, Nona is still a part of Alecto and part of Alecto was Nona. She's capable of great love, too, even if she doesn't see it right now. Love on that scale, between planets and their ghosts, who knows what horrors that could lead to. Varun tried to destroy another planet and all its inhabitants because Alecto cried for help. It is asking Alecto to avenge it, to avenge all of them. What does that entail, to a planet? What will Alecto feel compelled to do for that love?
(And I think the 'green and yellow salt water thing' is a reference to the colors of Earth's landmasses seen from space. Green forests, yellow deserts, and salt water)

more of Them
one person gave birdie and fabin love in the notes of my last post about them so i'm taking that as permission to share my absolute favorite thing i've written featuring the two of them
His hands catch her around the waist and he yanks her out of the way, pressing her up against the wall in an alley. He leans in front of her, blocking sight from the street of her trembling frame. Birdie inhales sharply, feeling the heat of him only a breath away.
City soldiers shout and Fabin leans closer, his forearm resting on the stone wall behind Birdie's head. Her mud-crusted hair scrapes against the stones and she stares at Fabin’s shoulder, feeling her heart punch irregularly at her ribs. He smells like campfire wood and there is a strand of hair falling out of his bun that brushes her cheek and she can’t name this feeling but it’s overwhelming.
His breath fans over her cheek. Her fingers grasp his cloak, pulling it around the two of them like a curtain. The clatter of armor makes her shiver and Fabin’s other hand rests on the hilt of his sword, his body angled to be between her and the street. The sound passes after six sickeningly long heartbeats, but Birdie still can’t breathe.
She thinks of how he presses his cheek against the side of her head and Emilia’s amused smile. She can feel his gaze burning through her but can’t meet it, her fingers curled into his cloak.
Three more irregular jumps of her heart, then Fabin’s hand gently untangles hers from his cloak. His other arm is still on the wall behind her head.
“I think they’re gone,” he says lowly.
She inhales shakily. “Yeah. I think they are.” Her eyes flick up to his face, the strand of hair hanging just in front of his eyes. “Should we...go, then?”
He swallows and she wishes she could read him like runes, decipher the way his jaw shifts and ripples. She reaches up to brush the strand of hair out of his face, her fingertips barely kissing the corner of his eyebrow. He lets out a soft sigh. “We should.”
Neither of them move.
A loud crash echoes through the shadowed alley, echoing from somewhere deeper in the city. Campfire wood smoke shifts under Birdie's hands and Fabin's eyes break away, scanning the sun-drenched street beyond. His hand drifts from the wall behind her, cupping her face almost absentmindedly. “We're clear for now. We'll need to get back to the flat.”
Birdie sucks in another shaky breath. “Yes.”
His eyes dart back down to her. “Are you okay?”
She nods. “Yes.”
His mouth quirks. “Good.”
tagging @avrablake @oh-no-another-idea and @akindofmagictoo to share more of Them--whoever They may be to you--that makes ur brain vibrate at the speed of light. and as always open tag for anybody who wants an excuse to post about their Them!

i got a ds as my christmas present a few years back with a copy of animal crossing (which is considered a bad version of the game btw) and something i keep coming back to is these little objectively somewhat pointless interactions like going for a coffee. you just go to the cafe, and buy a cup. you drink it, and you leave. i always say goodbye before i go. im trying to say thanks. i cant really see any practical reason for doing it, it is objectively just a money suck, but i love doing it. at first i thought the little bird who runs it might open up to me but he doesnt seem the type, but i still like him, so i go and visit him. it feels so real. like he remembers me but doesnt like talking about it. its such an incredibly special and intimate feeling. i wonder if other games at the time were able to cultivate this or if it was unique
#ive only really played modern games where everything has a reward. it was so nice to do something so close to reality#im sure there might be some in game reason to do it but i dont know. maybe you get energy or something#i dont really care. i felt like i was forming a connection emotionally. i wish we still valued that in games#its the only thing im really interested in.#if you have any game recommendations for the ds lmk actually. my sister got a 3ds this year#its funny. i wanted a gaming console so bad as a kid. specifically a ds or a wii#and we have them now! and i dont much care about them. and im kind of glad. im glad i was forced to do something else#i do not look down on gaming as a hobby at all but i am glad its a smaller one for me#i would also like to talk about a similar feeling i felt when i played subnautica (which they took off the gamepass before i could finish i#what the fuck man.)#they briefly put the sequel on so obvi i gave it a shot but i feel it was terrible in comparison#something uniquely insane about the first one is the feeling of isolation. the deep fear#you crash land on the planet and immediately all your communication off-planet is cut and it seems everyone perished in the crash#you spend a couple of hours getting situated and then the ships core explodes. a huge shock wave shakes the entire planet#standing on top of my pod and looking out at the mountain-sized wreck was an insane feeling of isolation. you have to experience it.#and then you start picking up signals on your little tablet. other escape pods. the signals from previous missions who came to do research#you travel out. find food. build things. the whole time working towards seeing if you can find the other pods#each one#empty#often containing a log of their last moments. usually eaten by something. you got lucky#you landed in the only area without a massive predator.#you find alien tech. learn about a disease that wiped out the planet. the entire time you are completely alone#its such a unique feeling. no npcs. no story you have to follow if you dont want to. but god is there not much else. you'll get around to i#discovering the alien species is horrifying and amazing#its an incredible game and i think its sense of loneliness is its greatest achievement. being truly alone on an uncaring planet#sitting there and watching the fish swim by#its unmatched. truly#i would actually love game recommendations if you have any. i love games with unique story lines or characters too#im much more into stories than gameplay#which totally goes against what i just said about subnautica in theory but not in practice
