Various HSR Casts vs Escape Rooms

Summary: Some of the Star Rail characters vs how they’d do in an escape room.

I went to an escape room recently and thought “Sure let’s put characters in an escape room and see what happens”. Also this isn't edited at all. Sorry lol

Trailblazer (Stelle/Caelus)

The few times that I’ve been to an escape room, there’s always a reminder and rule that the game is about “brains not brawn!”

…And the Trailblazer is the reason why

Is somehow a little too convinced that if you just pull harder, maybe it’ll finally open (you’re not supposed to open it)

HOWEVER, because they are really nosy and like digging around a lot, they’re actually pretty good at finding hidden things that may be the key to a puzzle you’re trying to solve

I can see them just throwing ideas out and shooting their shots until something clicks for someone else to solve a puzzle

If you didn’t already get booted out of the room for property damage, I’d say you have a chance to make it out of the room together

8/10 — You just really have to make sure they don’t just. Destroy everything.

Dan Heng

A little rough to cooperate with because of how quiet he tends to be, but he’s smart and can solve puzzles

He’s really good with the puzzles that require attention to details, so two things that don’t seem associated but actually are? He can get that down for you

Will more likely start in his own corner without being told and figure something out on his own while you handle another corner

If he notices you’re struggling with something, he’ll help and offer suggestions and that’s mostly how the both of you would wind up working together for the puzzles at all

Also another person you have a chance to make it out with, but really depends on whether or not the two of you manage to overcome the silent barrier

7.5/10 — Generally good but you know—

March 7th

Another memory to record down!

She would have tons of fun with the escape room; it’s just like being a detective from The Angler Mysteries!

….But admittedly, she leaves you to do the puzzles yourself. You’re the sidekick after all!

Will cheer you on while you do the puzzle, and more or less take the credit for when you solve it, saying “Of course you got it down! You’re the sidekick to a genius detective!”

Good at bouncing ideas off each other though, so that’s a given!

If she does solve anything, it's pure accident BUT she'll act like she totally did it on purpose.

7/10 — She’s great at support and she just has good energy as a partner! Just not good at puzzles herself.

Welt Yang

He’d love the chance to try and do all the puzzles himself if given the chance but of course, with time ticking, he relents to splitting the work up.

Very good at cooperating that tbh, you’d probably want to work alongside him to the puzzles but…inevitably winds up turning into him doing the puzzle instead BUT HEY WE CAN CALL IT TEAMWORK SURE

Honestly a good sport in escape rooms, but unfortunately because he takes his time with the puzzles, you either run out of time or nearly run out of time before you make it out

If you don’t finish, Welt’s more likely to ask for the solutions which. Um. then you can’t come back to the game after unless you really forget how to do the solutions, but I don’t think Welt’s really one to forget

9/10 escape room partner with a -1 because Slow.

Serval

Oh you know she’s going to be such a great partner for these

She’s smart. She’s friendly and warm. The two of you are definitely going to make it out of here and it’ll be extra fun!

She'll hype herself up when she manages to complete a puzzle and she'll definitely hype you up too when you complete one

If the two of you stumble on a puzzle you can't solve, she’ll definitely have both of you try to put your heads together to figure it out.

She's also the one I bet could have a chance of getting the both of you out in record time

10/10 partner but maybe because I'm biased and you can't go wrong with Serval

Gepard

Even despite it being all fun and games, the diligent and responsible face of Captain Gepard Landau is a tough one to break.

He's a little too serious about this because he focuses too much on trying to finish on time rather than the fun of the game

Starts delegating the work between everyone and is constantly the one trying to regroup and fill everyone in so everyone's on the same page about puzzles and everything

Very much continues being captain. In the escape room.

Please help him ease up a bit he's probably stressing himself out more than anything

7/10 He gets it done and you manage on time but again. A little too serious even for his own good

What are the chances that he leaves you to do the puzzles on your own?

You know him: with the number of times he’s been in trouble there comes an equal amount of times he’s escaped

So to speak: he’s good at escape rooms

…Except he uh. Doesn’t exactly…. Solve the puzzles that the escape rooms set up.

Maybe if you push him, sure, but chances are he’ll play dumb and pretend he’s stuck on a situation and then you wind up having to do all the work

You probably have to keep a careful eye on him because I can imagine this guy possibly leaving out the entrance and leaving out there if you don’t notice soon enough and well. Now you’re on your own in the escape room 🧍🏼

Force him to stay and he might actually give you a winning chance to get out of the escape room on time because of how fast he works. You’ll start wondering if he’s done these before and what kind of situations caused him to say things like “oh yeah I’ve seen this one before.” But hey you’re winning

Also with how fast he is, there's a chance you could get out record time. But. You know.

6/10 — Seriously. Have a leash on him so he’d stay and solve it. Otherwise he’s out within the first 3 minutes or something. Without you.

I need to bingewatch the scream movies again or I will die right now.

Nameless! Aventurine Headcanons

I have a million other projects I need to be working on, but this tiny brainworm hasn’t let me go. :(

TW: Talk of Aventurine’s backstory. Nothing explicit, but his brand is shown and stuff is alluded to. Symptoms of trauma are also explicitly mentioned. Also shirtless Aventurine but nothing sexual.

Nameless! Aventurine who succeeded in bargaining his freedom from the IPC and became a wanderer. Who always wears a shirt with a high collar to hide his slave tag. Who melted down his sixty tanba and had them made into various accessories for his otherwise nondescript outfit. Who pulled scams and took risks whenever the mood struck him and then skipping out whenever things got dicey for him. Until he runs into the Astral Express.

Nameless! Aventurine who had heard of the Express in passing, and needing a quick passage off-world, offers his help with whatever trouble they’ve managed to get themselves into in return for a ride. Only to be thrown completely out of his element by the attitude of each of its members. None of them are interested in what he can offer them (though it takes him a while to figure that out) and are more than willing to still let him join the Express even when his plan doesn’t pan out the way Aventurine promised.

Nameless! Aventurine who actually ends up fitting very well into the Astral Express’ dynamic. He is always happy to indulge in March 7th’s antics (You cannot tell me these two wouldn’t have spa days where they do facials, paint each other's nails, and just talk for hours about Robin’s latest album or whatever else is a hot topic for Honkai Star Rail’s version of the internet.) and treats her like a little sister.

March 7th is also the first to figure out Nameless! Aventurine’s aversion to being touched. He frequently initiates contact, but the first time March came up behind him and touched his arm, the gambler jumped almost a foot in the air. He laughed it off, telling her that she “give a man some warning next time” and pushed the conversation forward. She chalked it up to him being caught off-guard, but then she watched him freeze up when Himeko put a hand on his back, and when Welt patted his shoulder, and whenever March touched him first.

Nameless! Aventurine who acts like the annoying middle child always pestering the older brother because he secretly admires him. Dan Heng doesn’t warm up to Aventurine nearly as quickly, and is often annoyed when he just waltzes into the room containing the data bank, plops himself in a chair, and talks at him for hours. The first time Dan Heng responded to something he said was actually what got Aventurine to be quiet. Dan Heng turned away from what he was working on to see Aventurine with his mouth slightly agape, not expecting him to actually answer. Dan Heng found it incredibly interesting how the normally smooth talker stumbled over his words for almost a minute before picking up where he had left off.

Dang Heng is the first to notice how Nameless! Aventurine is always throwing himself in the firing range. Even when there’s absolutely no reason to or nothing to gain from making such a sacrifice. He subtly watched how in every conversation that even verges into dangerous territory, Aventurine pulls all of the attention onto himself with either a comment aimed to provoke, or acting in a way that drastically escalates things. Aventurine had told the Crew about his “luck”, and these instances had certainly liquidated any of Dan Heng’s doubts about that. But if his victory was always certain, why did he smile when he got shot?

Nameless! Aventurine who Himeko treats like the rest of her kids right out of the gate. Aventurine is the most suspicious of Himeko out of all the Express Crew, but that doesn’t last long. They bond over their love of black coffee and as the two of the only three night owls on the Express (Dan Heng is also one, but he never leaves his room). While he would never say Himeko reminded him of his mother, she gave her own forms of paternal love freely in the way she always made sure he ate at least two meals a day, immediately patched up his various scrapes and scratches herself when he first got on the Express, and offered him his own room without hesitation. He would go to his grave with the knowledge that he had felt his face heat up when she had ruffled his hair after he beat her at chess during one of their 2am coffee drinking sessions.

Himeko was the first to see Nameless! Aventurine’s hands were in terrible condition. When she checked him over for wounds, she noticed how he was always fidgeting with a coin. Later it would change to a beaten up poker chip, or his bracelet, or whatever odd thing he had picked up. And when she was bandaging his arm, his hands shook with constant tremors. When he was outside the Express, he always stuffed his hands in his pockets, and Himeko frowned late one evening when she saw Aventurine palm’s had scars from where his own nails had dug into them.

Nameless! Aventurine who loves messing with Welt. Honestly, Aventurine gets along with Welt just as well, if not better than March. Welt is never without something interesting or insightful to say, and combined with Aventurine’s observant and commentative nature, they sometimes end up talking for hours without even realizing time has passed. However, Aventurine cannot live without a little mischief. And Welt’s naivety when it comes to current trends is just too good of an opportunity to pass up. This often manifests in Welt using slang terms in ways they absolutely were not meant to be, and a few interesting videos that have made their way onto the Express’ group chat. Welt has mostly caught on, but he still plays along if only to see the way Aventurine’s eyes light up whenever he successfully “tricks” him. The “kiddo” had gotten more laughs out of the old man than all of the members of the Express combined.

Welt was the first to notice and tell the others that Nameless! Aventurine was exhibiting signs of severe trauma. During a pit stop, Welt asked Aventurine to go ask around for a certain brand of coffee beans for Himeko before calling the others for a meeting. After sharing what they knew, the group struggled to decide on a course of action. Aventurine was more than entitled to his past, and it would go against everything they stood for to pry for potentially painful details. But it also seemed wrong to let him continue potentially harmful habits without intervention. In the end, they decided to wait until they crossed paths with a specialist who they could ask for advice before taking any particular course of action.

Nameless! Aventurine who kept making excuses for why he couldn’t get off the Express. He didn’t realize that no one had ever asked him to.

Nameless! Aventurine who upon waking one day to see his name emblazoned on the door of his room refused to come out for an entire day. The rest of the Crew didn’t even know it had happened, and Pom-Pom swore they hadn’t done it. Meanwhile, Aventurine spent most of the morning crying silently into his pillow and the rest of the day deep in the trenches of an existential crisis. He comes out the next day and acts like nothing ever happened, and the new status quo was set in stone.

Nameless! Aventurine who was with March and Dan Heng when they found the Trailblazer. And immediately became fascinated with them. Especially after they threw themselves in front of March when the Doomsday Beast attacked the space station. He surprised himself with how upset he felt when he saw the Trailblazer was considering staying at Herta’s Space Station as opposed to coming with them. And how happy he was when they ultimately decided to join the Express.

Nameless! Aventurine and the Trailblazer who get on like a house on fire. Aventurine is persistent and victorious in getting the Trailblazer comfortable with them, and often ends up in a game of tug-a-war with March for their attention. Trailblazer, who at first glance seems like a pretty stoic character, turns out to be quite unhinged, and Aventurine’s lack of self-restraint only enables them once they set foot on Belobog. Aventurine was a man who clung to unpredictability and the mystery of the dice like a starving animal, and the Trailblazer was impulsivity personified. From their out-of-pocket comments at the most inappropriate of moments to their dumpster-diving habits, Aventurine never knew what to expect from them.

Trailblazer who is the first to discover the truth of Nameless! Aventurine’s past. It wasn’t anything grand; the two had gone out with March and Himeko for a drink and ended up collapsing in the same bed. Trailblazer woke first with an awful headache, a dry mouth, and dots doing pirouettes across their vision. Which is why they thought they were just imagining the brand on Aventurine’s neck. The high-collar shirt that he always wore had been chucked off at some point during the night. Aventurine stirred when a gentle touch carefully traced irritated, scarred skin.

“You should really be applying some kind of salve to that.”

Reality cut through Aventurine’s hangover faster than a bucket of ice. He leapt out of bed and locked himself in the bathroom. He refused all of the Trailblazer’s attempts to get him to respond, and it was only after they promised they would give him some space and that they wouldn’t tell the others that his heart rate was able to go down. It still took him an hour before he left the bathroom. From there he avoided the Trailblazer like the plague. When the other members of the Crew asked what had happened, the Trailblazer explained it away as “drunken shenanigans” and let the subtext run its course. If only to give Aventurine some initiative to speak to them. This standoff lasted weeks, and probably would have gone on much longer if Aventurine hadn’t taken a dagger to the gut and a crossbow bolt to the knee. And the Trailblazer, out of the generosity of their heart, offered to personally make sure he made a full recovery. And many painful nights later, with the help of a few glasses of whiskey, Aventurine shared a few pieces of his past. He still had enough clarity of mind to keep the less palatable details out of it, but gave more than enough for the Trailblazer to understand what he had been through. Somehow, the bottle was emptied, and the two once again found themselves cuddled up in Aventurine’s bed and drifting off into peaceful slumber.

Nameless! Aventurine who found a new family, and would continue to protect them with everything he had as he continued his journey starward.

Welcome to the Fight Night Bash Writing Collab!

With the spooky season quickly on the approach, it's about time we all start thinking about how scared and horny we're going to be this year - one way we can do that is a Writing Collab!

If you're interesting in joining, take a look at the Rules and Regulations below;

Entrant's must be over 18 years old - due to the nature of the event and the content surrounding it (nsfw, dark content, etc), it keeps everyone safe.

Fandoms that can be included are My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Demon Slayer (However fics can be for any character from any fandom.)

There can be double-ups of characters. You can write more than one fic (however there is no pressure to do so). This isn't just meant as a 'Halloween event' - if you've had a fic that follows this theme, now is your chance to finish it!

Fic are categorized by three tiers; Spooky (SFW Halloween themed fics), Scary (NSFW fics), and Skeletons (Full-fledged Horror and NSFW). All these can have horror elements in them, just at varying degrees. This helps keep everything organized - when you come to me with your fic idea you must tell me which category it fits into (this can change, so don't worry if the plot changes by the time you're finished writing). If you have any questions just ask.

There is no minimum OR maximum word count - a few hundred word drabbles are just as welcome as 10k works.

There will be a Discord open, and if you'd like to join please ask (I made it specially so we can all help motivate each other) - this process will go smoother if you already know me, or one of the mods.

This will be a collab with potentially triggering content (both with the horror element, and certain kinks) - it's not for the faint of heart, so please think it through before joining. Despite everything, at it's core this is meant to be fun!

Summary: It's your birthday and Ayato had an idea how he could surprise you

A/N: This is a repost because the post I scheduled on the day of my birthday the 7th did not show up in the tags at all... yay? Anyway - Happy birthday to... me - Haha, yup, I basically wrote this for myself as a comfort piece and to get back into writing after my exams... and as a purely self-indulgent comfort fic (and I'm not sorry). Hope you enjoy this as well :3

When you woke up the first rays of sunshine peeked through the closed curtains of your shared bedroom. A look to the right revealed that the other side of the bed was empty - which was nothing unusual, you assumed your husband had already started working again and was hunched over his desk in the study, working through the endless piles of paperwork.

You sat up and stretched out your limbs, wiping the sleep out of your eyes with the back of your hand before you got up. You opened the curtains to let the warm light seep into your pores and basked in the cozy comfort of the sun of the early fall morning. You could see mist rising up from the forest near the Kamisato Estate and the air smelled like fallen leaves and morning dew.

It seemingly was a perfect and comfortable fall morning but the absence of your husband today specifically bothered you more than you liked to admit and the reason for that was quite simple - today was your birthday and admittedly, you were just a little disappointed he didn’t even take today off to spend it together with you. Did he seriously forget?

You sighed deeply as you attempted to shrug it off. It was just another day, right? It wasn’t that important and you had him around every single day of your life after all.

You kept searching around the estate, in the courtyard and in his room, yet Thoma was nowhere to be found. Just as you walked towards the study of your husband assuming Thoma would happen to be in Ayato’s study as well and assisting him with his extensive paperwork, you ran into Akari, one of the maids of the estate.

You walked out of your bedroom to see if you could find Thoma, maybe he’d have time to go grab breakfast together with you in Inazuma City. You could technically also go and ask Ayato but you did not wish to disturb him. You knew how busy he was due to the immense workload that was constantly weighing him down.

“Oh! Good morning, Akari!”, you greeted. “You wouldn’t coincidentally know where Thoma is at?”

“Good morning, Mx. Kamisato! I’ve seen him head to the kitchen earlier, I think.”

Of course, how come you didn’t think to check there yet, the kitchen was almost Thoma’s second room after all.

“Thank you!”, you slightly bowed your head down before turning around on your heels and heading for the kitchen.

“Oh excuse me, Mx. Kamisato!”, Akari called out for you, making you halt in your tracks and look back over your shoulder. “Happy Birthday!”

“Oh, thank you!”, you smiled while simultaneously feeling a slight lump form in your throat because it made you realize that even the staff remembered your birthday but not your husband. You were just slightly disappointed but it wasn’t that important. Right?

The closer you got to the kitchen, the more the air smelled like flour, warm and aromatic. Someone was definitely baking something and your mouth started watering at the mere thought of some pancakes or your favorite cake for your birthday breakfast.

“Thoma!”, you cheered as you slipped into the kitchen. “Would you like t–”

You halted in your tracks at the sight that greeted you instead. Not Thoma but Ayato was standing behind the counter. Speckles of flour were sticking to his forehead and cheek, he was wearing his kimono loosely, which also didn’t manage get out of his baking attempt unscathed, his hair was still messy from sleeping and the entire kitchen was thrown into complete disarray. Several bowls were standing in the sink, flour was covering the entire countertop and all sorts of opened packages were standing around loosely.

Ayato was just coating a delicious looking cake with chocolate and sprinkling some sakura shaped sugar pearls on top of it.

You were so stunned by the scene in front of your eyes that you had forgotten what you came here for in the first place and were too baffled to speak. You looked up to Ayato, scanning his face and looking deep into his loving lavender eyes and holding back a chuckle as you reached for his cheek, wiping away some stray speckles of molten chocolate. How did he even manage to completely smear all sorts of ingredients of the cake in his face, on his kimono and all over the kitchen?

“My love! You’re already awake?”, he asked in surprise as he turned around toward the door where you stood, before wiping his hands on his kimono. That certainly explained how all the stains on it came to be.

He headed over to you, placing a soft kiss on your forehead. Ayato looked over to the clock on the wall before smiling lightly. “Seems like I’ve already been up for longer than I had thought”

“What are you doing here?”, you asked amusedly.

“Baking a birthday cake for you, of course.”

“You made this for me? All on your own?”, you remarked as you could feel some tears of joy form in the corners of your eyes. You already thought he had forgotten about your birthday, yet he had gotten up so early to bake a cake to surprise you with.

“Well… in all honesty. Thoma gave me the recipe, but I insisted on baking alone and I think… it turned out quite excellent, if I do say so myself.”, he smiled proudly, taking you by your hand and leading you over to where the cake stood on the counter. He pulled out the stool in front of it for you and motioned you to sit down, while he cut a piece of the cake and stuck some candles into it which he then lit.

“Happy Birthday, love. Make a wish!”, he held the cake out in front of you with a proud shine in his eyes. Everything was so perfectly ridiculous at that moment that some happy tears glistened in the corners of your eyes as you blew out the candles and wished to spend many more moments just like this one together with him. You thought it wasn’t possible to love this man even more than you already did but he had proven you wrong once again.

“I had already assumed you had forgotten about my birthday when I saw you had gotten up already.”, you admitted.

“Nonsense! How could I ever forget about you!”, he replied, playfully acting offended at your accusation and handing you a fork. “Dig in!”

You grabbed the fork and put a big piece of the cake in your mouth. At that moment the first anticipation dissipated into thin air. When the spongy cake came in contact with your tastebuds you expected light sweetness but instead all you could taste was salt.

You involuntarily scrunched your face up while Ayato’s facial expression completely derailed into a mix between shock and concern, which made you chuckle in amusement.

“Is anything wrong?”, he asked with evident worry in his voice.

You held out the plate for him as he took a bite of the cake himself, mirroring the exact same scrunched up expression you've just had as well when you had tried it.

“Honey, I think you might have mixed up some ingredients. Did you happen to try the batter before you put it in the oven?”

“No I-...", he huffed, scratching the back of his head displeased. "Well, that most certainly was not sugar.”

“Nope'', you chuckled.

“I’m so sorry, love, I-”

“Shh! Be quiet!”, you put your finger on his lips, effectively shutting him up before pulling him closer and replacing your finger with your lips, softly sharing the taste of salt that now lingered on both of your lips. “I love you!”, you whispered as you smiled against his lips, feeling the butterflies flutter about in your stomach just like they did on the very first day you met him.

“I love you, too. More than you know.”, he whispered in response, smiling at you lovingly while brushing softly over your cheek with his thumb and resting his forehead against yours. Both of you basking in each other’s comforting presence.

“So uhm… what are we going to do about the cake?”, you inquired after a short moment of silence. Ayato scratched the back of his neck awkwardly while eyeing the cake with a slight frown.

“I guess, I’ll just give it to Thoma.”

“Oh, archons…”, you laughed out loud. “You should really give him a raise if he actually eats this.”

“Yeah… maybe I should.”

ohhhhhh okay amazing question!! I'm also tagging @neongreenllama bc in one of our first convos they were talking about Remus listening to Falco and I said if Remus was from Austria he would be from Vorarlberg, so that's what I'm sticking with. He's from the most western part of Austria, grew up somewhere in a village in the alps and has the most iconic beautiful dialect (I may have.. a thing.. for that region's dialect... it's just so great! It sounds almost more like swiss dialects than austrian and I barely understand the people there when they talk to each other but ugh I could MELT when I hear them talk. I digress uhmmm this was about the marauders, right!)

Peter is either from Amsttetten or Klosterneuburg or St. Pölten i don't make the rules but yeah. That's just facts (I love that pretty much no one will know any of these places anyways ahahah).

Sirius and James are both from Vienna, or maybe James is from Vienna and Sirius is from Salzburg. But I think they're both from Vienna.

Okay WAIT I WANT TO ASSIGN THEM VIENNESE DISTRICTS. this post is so unhinged and self-indulgent but idc here we go marauders as viennese districts:

Peter is Liesing. Also part of Vienna but kind of sometimes forgotten bc it's the 23rd district. it's all the way in the south. idk

Lily is the 9th district idk why just vibes (Uni, hipster cafés, pretty old buildings, one of my faves!). or maybe she's 5th, cool up and coming (aka currently being gentrified), close to the hipster areas but a little more affordable than the surrounding districs.

Remus is 21st or 22nd district, the ones across the danube. Or maybe actually the other end, one of the western districts close to the viennese forest? he would like that!

Sirius is either from the 1st,13th or 19th district bc old money. When he gets to chose where he lives he'd first move to the 4th, 6th or 7th bc of the queer spaces, but eventually they are not green enough for him so he moves out west closer to the forest, maybe 16th or 17th or 18th.

James is from the same area as Sirius but new money, Sirius grows up in an old inherited villa in hietzing or döbling that's starting to fall apart, James grows up in a flashy newly built ultra modern home with a pool on the rooftop. Sirius's parents HATE James's house "ruining the neighborhood", Sirius thinks it's the coolest house on the whole street!!
