My Favourite Board Game Mechanisms: On your turn in a game of Zooloretto you can either take an entire "truck" of animals for your zoo, possibly taking a partially filled truck and not doing as much set collecting as your opponents, or maybe take one that has the valuable animal on it but be forced too also take all the other less desirable animals on the "truck" as well (which may give you negative points). ⁣ ⁣ Or you can draw a new animal from the draw bag and add it to any empty spot on any "truck" - possibly setting up your opponents to get lots of points our take the animal(s) that you really want. If you decide to draw a news animal tile, you have to wait till your next turn and hope what you want is still available.⁣ ⁣ Every player gets a truck with at least one animal so no one gets completely ruined... Usually. This crafts a lot of tension and tough decisions. The luck element is a fun balancing act in this game. ⁣ ⁣ Some games everyone is ruthless and we all end up with animals we don't want, sometimes everyone is taking only 1 animal each time. A blast from the past - El Capitan, from Z-Man Games. I’ve always had a soft spot for this game, which I like quite a bit. I tend to like cash-management games, and this has an interesting cooperative-competitive market dynamic: markets increase in value as players make investments, so you want other players competing with you, but you also want to win. Markets also start to diminish in value as they get over-developed. These effects represent real-world economic dynamics that are often neglected in boardgames, which tend to focus on simple supply and demand. Anyway, this isn’t hasn’t been that successful with most of the people I game with, but I find it has that elusive quality of elegance combined with nuance that I value so highly in games. This was one of Mike Doyle’s early forays into game art design, and while it unquestionably has a bunch of issues I always though he had an interesting style. Noctiluca 2 a 4 Jugadores Juego de Dados Aqui estamos tratando de rescatar Noctilucas (representados por dados) en unas jarritas. Básicamente en tu turno escoges uno de los espacios marrones que están en el exterior del tablero y escoges que fila vas a jugar y cual número quieres llevarte. Luego te llevas todos los dados que están en esa fila y que contengan el número que escogiste, luego pones los dados en tus jarritas a base del color, lo que no quepa se pasa al jugador de tu izquierda. Cuando completes una jarrita, la volteas y escoges una nueva. El juego es 2 rondas de 12 turnos. Quién tenga mas puntos al final gana el juego. Die erste Partie von #cryo ist schon ein paar Tage her. Aber da ich heute Abend die Solovariante testen möchte, die von @zmangames_ veröffentlicht wurde, dachte ich, ich mache gleich einen Beitrag dazu. Bei Cryo geht es darum, die eigene Crew, die beim Absturz des Raumschiffs auf dem Planeten verteilt wurde, einzusammeln und in die sicheren Höhlen des Planeten zu bringen. Das Ganze funktioniert über klassisches Workerplacement. Die Mechanik hält aber die ein oder andere Besonderheit bereit. Die Regeln sind zwar umfangreich, aber trotzdem sehr einfach. Spätestens nach der ersten Runde hat man es verstanden. 👍 Die Aktionen sind sehr ausgewogen, jede Aktion bringt einen weiter. Auch wenn man dafür seinen Plan öfter kurzfristig ändern muss. 😁😂 Die Möglichkeiten, an Punkte zu kommen, sind vielfältig. Was aus meiner Sicht richtig gut gelungen ist, ist das Artwork. Sehr erfrischend, weil es etwas anderes ist, aber unglaublich gut in das Setting passt. Bunt, spacig und trotzdem stimmig. Die LED-Beleuchtung vom Tisch übernimmt den Rest. 🙏 Grandios. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Ich habe die erste Partie verloren. 🤔 Darüber muss ich noch hinwegkommen. Cryo ist ein wirklich gelungenes Spiel.
