Day 24, Seoul 5th Oct
I caught a bus, then the subway to get over the river to the Olympic Park. Seoul is such a huge city. It took about 50 minutes but the trains aren’t crowded and very clean. I had a map that showed all the best parts of the park to see following a walking track.
The Park encompasses the land that was once the Fortress and Mongchonhaeja lake from the early Baekje period. The park opened in 1986. It’s a big area.
Tumblr media
In one corner was a lovely rose garden with a multitude of rose varieties.
Tumblr media
Around the park there are many sculptures by artists from all over the world. This one is called A Virtual Sphere by a Venezuelan artist. It was installed in 1988.
Tumblr media
Close by is one of the park’s wild flower gardens. This one was full of Cosmos the colour matching the autumn tones. The flowers get changed each season. I should have worn my gold top to blend in. It was supposed to have been only 16 degrees today but it ended up warm with blue skies. You can walk to the top of the hill through the flowers but you have to bend down as the flowers join together. I was doing the Korean finger sign for love. They either do this or a V sign. For those that don’t know when BTS went to the White House, this year, there is a photo of them with Joe Biden in the Oval Office all doing this finger sign.
Tumblr media
This was looking back down the hill through the flowers.
Tumblr media
These men where designed by a Korean artist and it’s called Way. His idea was that true transformation of life’s journey is an evolution. This was erected in 1998.
Tumblr media
So many interesting shapes and ideas where throughout the park.
Tumblr media
I always think people are clever how they interrupt their thoughts about life into a static piece.
Tumblr media
There are always skyscrapers around Seoul but these are all fairly shiny with the Lotte Tower in the background.
Tumblr media
This is the World Peace Gate at one of the main entrances to the Park. The Peace Gate symbolises peace and harmony. It celebrates the spirit of the Seoul Olympic Games held in 1988. The mural under the wings represent the four spirits of a phoenix, a tiger, a turtle and a dragon which symbolise the strength of Koreans and their freedom.
Tumblr media
A ring of flags of all the competing nations are on the same plaza as the Peace Gate. A lake is behind the flags.
Tumblr media
This sculpture shows the value of dialogue between people overcoming barriers such as geography, language, culture and politics. This was created by an Algerian sculpturer.
Tumblr media
This was from the Fortress walk looking down to the huge World Peace Gate. It was designed by the architect Kim Chung-up.. In the distance is the Lotte World Tower which was opened in 2017. It has 123 storeys and is the highest building in South Korea and the 6th tallest in the world.
Tumblr media
A close up of the Peace Tower.
Tumblr media
You could walk around the top of the old fortress walls which gave great views but along the way were shady areas with seats so it was very relaxing stopping every so often.
Tumblr media
Lots of construction going on in the distance.
Tumblr media
This was One Tree Hill for obvious reasons.
Tumblr media
In another part of the park were more wild flower fields with an all women group busy weeding.
Tumblr media
This is Muhl grass which turns pink in the Autumn so I just timed it right.
Tumblr media
Beside all the girls mostly doing their Instagram photos there was also a bride and groom in among the grass.
Tumblr media
I love this photo. I had zoomed in on this group of women.
Tumblr media
You walked through a trellis of different sorts of pumpkins.
Tumblr media
On the edge of the park are some of the stadiums used for the Olympics like swimming, the Velodrome and gymnastics etc. The actual main stadium is over 5 kms away. Beside the sculptures it has a couple of museums so a full day out. This is the KSPO dome and on Saturday BTS are preforming here along with others as the Fact Music Awards are being held. It’s a fan based award show so BTS will be winning a number of awards. A ticket to the show would have been great.
Tumblr media
The Thumb is near the entrance to the stadiums in this section of the park. It’s an ode to the human thumb magnified in extreme size.
Tumblr media
Unlike yesterday where all the places I went to seemed to be full of young people, apparently the reason being there are a lot of universities in Seongsu, the people in the park and the cafes close by were a mostly very well dressed more mature person. I hadn’t really seen this age group in cafes. It was interesting.

What the 2021 Grammy Awards Will Look Like
Tumblr media
Artists including Billie Eilish, BTS, and Taylor Swift will perform in a circle of five stages with masked crew at the center — in a ceremony that first-time showrunner Ben Winston calls “part Grammys, part Abbey Road studio session”
Ben Winston is exhausted. The television producer, who moved from the U.K. to Los Angeles six years ago to start The Late Late Show With James Corden, is a week away from executive-producing his first Grammys telecast. “I literally had two hours of sleep last night,” he tells Rolling Stone via Zoom.
On Sunday, March 7th, the Recording Academy revealed a slate of performing artists for March 14th’s 63rd Annual Grammy Awards that includes Billie Eilish, BTS, Taylor Swift, Cardi B, and Harry Styles. But while those names are on the lineup, Winston knows nothing about live TV is ever set in stone — especially in the time of a pandemic —so he’s been spending his days double- and triple-checking plans, waking up at 4:30 a.m. dry-eyed and restless. He’s worked to make a show “with heart,” he says — one that “doesn’t feel isolated, quiet, or alone.” He also had to take extra steps to ensure the three-and-a-half hour show, which will not take place at the Grammys’ usual home of the Staples Center, is Covid-safe for performers and attendees. Despite all that, he appears remarkably enthusiastic and alert.
Here’s what viewers next Sunday can expect from music’s biggest night, according to Winston: a multi-stage, audience-free show that highlights the year’s creative triumphs, social justice movements, as well as Covid-19’s impact on the arts. Winston hints at several “unbelievably powerful” performances on the slate, adding that the Grammys “absolutely are acknowledging what’s happened” in the country in the last year.
Winston, who in 2018 co-produced Bruno Mars’ well-received live show at the Apollo for CBS, also wanted to highlight independent venues, which are the “lifeblood of this industry” and a launchpad for emerging musicians — so the Grammys will feature guest spots from owners and workers of iconic American venues, including L.A.’s Troubadour and Hotel Café, N.Y.’s Apollo, and Nashville’s Station Inn. “I drive past the Troubadour on my way home from work every night,” Winston says. “It’s a significant thing for me when I look at it all boarded up. I always think, ‘When those boards come down, this will be over.’ That will be the sign. That will be the day where it’s like, ‘We got through this.'” Winston realized from his conversations with venues that many of them put on their last shows on March 14th, 2020, meaning the Grammys will mark the one-year anniversary of the shutdown.
Employees will come on camera to “tell us a little bit about their venue” and present some of the awards. “So, you’ve got, like, a bartender at a beautiful, independent venue — and she’s giving out Album of the Year to these megastars,” he explains. His goal is to acknowledge the people who work tirelessly to keep these stomping grounds afloat and have recently lost their jobs. “Those venues are made up by the bartender and the security guard, the manager, the box office person, and the cleaner at the end of the night.” He hopes to remind people of the importance of supporting local venues again when it’s safe to do so.
Originally, the Grammys were scheduled for January 31st, but organizers announced a move to March right after the new year. Winston says he felt American morale was at a low point in January — between political insurrection, an impeachment trial, and Covid-19 running rampant in Los Angeles — and it “didn’t feel right” to put the show on in the middle of that. The Recording Academy and CBS, which exclusively airs the annual show, both supported his decision to postpone. “I can now do everything that I wanted to do in my best-case scenario for this year,” he says of Sunday’s show.
Sunday’s location is an undisclosed building in Los Angeles, but Winston teases that the new venue is “massive,” “magical,” and “the biggest building I’ve ever been in indoors.” “I don’t want it to look like I’m criticizing Staples, because it’s the most amazing venue,” he emphasizes, sharing that he’s open to bringing the Grammys back to the arena in the future if they ask him to. While he does believe that Staples is a safe place, he says he wanted to go above and beyond to make even the most-skeptical participants feel undoubtedly safe.
A team of Covid safety officers oversaw the production set-up, and artists will enter the stage from different directions to minimize contact. Each artist also has their own backstage area. The space “allowed us to build an entire world,” he says.
The show will involve five stages of the same size and shape, four of which are for performances and one of which is for presenters. Stages are organized in a circle, facing one another, and crew members will work from the middle of the set. “People will perform while the other three or four artists on their stages watch, applaud, and enjoy. As soon as that one finishes, the next one goes, the next one goes, and the next one goes. Every 45 minutes, you change out those stages, and you bring another four megastars into the room,” says Winston, who was partly inspired for the “part-Grammys, part-Abbey Road studio session” setup by British shows he watched as a child, including Jools Holland and TFI Friday.
It’s going to be a “bespoke night of music that I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to repeat,” Winston says. “It’s about taking a camera into a room, and making an amazing musical moment by filming it quite simply and elegantly.” Performances, which started being planned in April 2020, will be a mix of live and pre-recorded — a fully live show would involve too many crew members moving sets and risking close contact — but the whole thing is intended to feel completely live. (Winston challenges viewers to try and guess which sets are pre-recorded; he designed them to be difficult to tell.)
To help plan the sprawling, immersive show, Winston brought in a suite of collaborators including co-executive producer Jesse Collins, who produced The Weeknd’s Super Bowl halftime show; co-executive producer Raj Kapoor, who handled creative direction for various artists on the last seven Grammys and produced Vegas residencies for the likes of the Backstreet Boys and Mariah Carey; producer Fatima Robinson, whose expansive background in creative direction and choreography landed her the Black Eyed Peas’ 2011 halftime show and Kendrick Lamar’s 2016 Grammy performance; producer Misty Buckley, who handled production design for Kacey Musgraves’ 2020 Christmas show; talent executive Patrick Menton from Dick Clark Productions; Corden collaborator Josie Cliff; and Super Bowl halftime, Olympic ceremony, Oscars, and Emmys director Hamish Hamilton, who Winston describes as a “legend” he’s admired since he was 14 years old. (David Wild, who has written for the Grammys since 2001 and became a producer in 2016, is the only person returning to his role.) Winston also points out that artists were heavily involved in designing their own performances.
Rather than have cameras pan over empty seats and an awkwardly small stage, the production team decided to reinvent the visual format with the five-stage setup. The pandemic’s limitations, coupled with the advantages of new faces coming in with fresh perspectives, helped them refrain from thinking in terms of what the Grammys had done before, he said.
For the most part, Covid-19 didn’t force too many changes. It did give Winston a lot of anxiety.
“There’s been so much uncertainty with what you’re allowed to do,” he says. Changing international quarantine rules made him question whether certain performers could fly in, while health guidance keeps fluctuating: “Every time my computer or phone dings, my first instinct is, ‘Oh, God, what’s gone wrong?’ I don’t know if that’s ever been my mentality before.”
While all the performers are confirmed and currently Covid-free, “you never know, one of their girlfriends could have Covid and have to quarantine, it’s all just bonkers,” Winston says. “There’s one artist that may, in the end, not be able to make it here due to rules of the country they’re currently in. There’s one immigration issue that we’ve got left.”
The show does not have replacements on hand if anyone pulls out — it’ll just cut that performance out.
Above all, Winston wants the 2021 Grammys to focus attention off of dire times. “I want people to be able to watch the 2021 Grammys in 2040 and go, ‘Wow, what an amazing show that was,’ and not go, ‘Oh, that was the Covid year, that’s why they had to do that,'” he says. “I think that’s what we could achieve if we get it right on Sunday.”

BTS Imagine // As your jock boyfriend (Hyung Line)
pairing: jock!bts x reader
genre: fluff, humour
notes: read maknae line here
Kim Seokjin
Tumblr media
“Come on, Y/N! I’m a really good teacher!”
Your boyfriend was tightly grasping both of your hands as he insisted that he should be the one to teach you.
“I’m sure you are, babe. But it’ll take you less than five minutes to get bored on the bunny hill and then you’ll be begging me to let you go do the Black Diamond trail.”
Jin pouted because you were right. He was a competitive snowboarder while you had never really been into winter sports until you met him. You mostly preferred to cheer him on from the sidelines but you had suggested a weekend getaway at a nearby ski resort.  You had even signed up for snowboarding lessons much to Jin’s chagrin.
“Y/N, I thought this whole weekend was about spending time together.”
“Actually, this weekend was for me to learn more about what you love so much. Tell you what - when you’re all done with your fancy snowboard things, you can come join me for one last run before dinner. That way I can show you what I learned!”
Jin knew you never changed your mind once it was set on something so he gave in. Letting out a dramatic sigh, he pulled you in for a sweet goodbye kiss.
“Fine. But the instructor better not hit on you.”
Min Yoongi
Tumblr media
As the buzzer rang out signalling the end of the game, your enthusiasm was uncontrollable.
“WOOHOO! That’s how we do it! Get it, Min Yoongi!”
Your loud cheers caught the attention of your boyfriend. Making eye contact with you, he gave a quick shake of his head at your antics while that endearing gummy smile stretched across his face. You quickly ran down the bleachers to meet him on the court where you jumped into his arms for a congratulatory kiss.
“You would think this was the Olympics and not just some intramural college basketball game with the way you were cheering. You are so embarrassing, Y/N.”
You knew Yoongi didn’t mean it by his wide grin and the teasing lilt in his voice.
“I live to embarrass you, you should know that by now. Okay, time for celebratory milkshakes!” After letting him say quick goodbyes to his teammates, you grabbed Yoongi’s hand to drag him out of the gymnasium.
“Y/N, is that... my name on your jersey?”
Glancing quickly over your shoulder, you looked at your handiwork your boyfriend was referring to.
“You like it? I did it myself.”
Yoongi pulled you back towards him so that the two of you were now chest to chest. Reaching up, he cupped your face with both hands.
“You must be my new lucky charm,” he grinned before capturing your lips in a kiss.
Jung Hoseok
Tumblr media
You were not impressed with your boyfriend right now.
He was the tennis captain of your college varsity team and the two of you had been dating for a few short months now. On this fine weekend morning, he decided it would be a good idea to wake you up early to hit a few balls.
“Come on, Y/N. I’m the captain of the tennis team. You had to expect that I would bring you out for a few rallies eventually.”
“I knew it was coming but foolish me always thought it would be at a reasonable hour of the day. Not at seven in the morning on a Saturday.” You continued to pout and drag your feet, readying yourself at the service line after doing some quick stretches.
Hoseok began to pepper your face with small kisses until the frown finally left your face. Only when you were finally smiling did he get into position on the opposite side of the net.
“So, I figured we could hit a few balls just so I know what your playing level is at and then we can go from there,” Hoseok called out. You waved your arm in response, signalling that you heard him and were ready to get started. The faster this was over, the faster you could get back to bed.
With impressive force, you pushed off your feet as you served an ace right down the line, the ball zooming past Hoseok’s shocked expression.
“Y/N... what the heck?! You did not tell me you could play tennis!”
“I played a little in high school,” you shrugged nonchalantly. After a couple hours of great rallies, Hoseok was finally ready to call it quits for the day. Throwing his tennis bag over one shoulder, he reached out to hold your hand on the way to your usual breakfast spot.
“That was great, Y/N! We should play more often. I’m going to book a court  for every Saturday morning until the end of the semester!”
Oh, great.
Kim Namjoon
Tumblr media
You loved moments like this together with Namjoon.
Your boyfriend was the star javelin thrower on the track and field team. As a result, the two of you had frequent gym dates. But what you enjoyed most was the time the two of you got to spend together after working up a sweat.
Now freshly showered, the two of you were cooking up a storm for your post workout meal. Well, you were cooking up a storm since Namjoon’s culinary skills still left a lot to be desired. Today’s menu featured grilled chicken with roasted vegetables while Namjoon finished blending your protein smoothies.
“Behind you,” Namjoon said as he came up behind you. Your back was firmly pressed against his chest as he reached for the cups located in the cupboard above your head. He pressed a quick kiss to the top of your head before moving on.
These days, the words ‘I love you’ were always on the tip of your tongue. Neither of you had said it yet but in moments like this, you came pretty damn close. It might be too soon to say it out loud but you could see yourself doing this everyday with Namjoon for the rest of your lives.
After finishing a scrumptious meal, Namjoon pulled you into his lap and wrapped both arms tightly around your waist. You leaned into him, fully accepting his embrace as the two of you just sat there enjoying the comfortable silence.
“Hey, Y/N?”
“Yeah, Joon?”
“I love you.”
Your lips stretched into a huge smile as the warmth and sincerity of his words washed over you.
“I love you, too.”

[Drunk Talk 3] Shinhwa’s Junjin “I’m thankful just being able to participate in ‘Infinite Challenge’
Tumblr media
Shinhwa welcomed their 20th birthday. It’s their 20th debut anniversary. Shinhwa debuted in 1998, and has released 13 studio albums in the past 20 years. While the mountains and rivers changed twice, and even through much complications, they have protected the name of Shinhwa, and received a lot of love as they released multiple hit tracks, starting with their debut song, ‘The Resolver’.
Shinhwa is the longest running idol group that is ‘currently active’ and has continuously promoted for 20 years, without even one member change. There are so many groups that have dissolved or experience member changes to the extent that the ‘idol 7 year jinx’ saying exists, and that is what makes Shinhwa’s 20th year shine even more.
The drunk talk interview was arranged with great difficulty, as Shinhwa was busy with preparations so that they can celebrate their 20th anniversary in an even more meaningful manner with the fans. It so happened that this interview was conducted on ‘Shin-dependence day’ (a phrase that combines Shinhwa and Independence day that fans use to commemorate the end of the trademark lawsuit, falls on 29 May), which was even more meaningful.
Tumblr media
(continued from part 2)
- You’re preparing for a Shinhwa variety after JTBC’s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ Junjin: It was difficult when we first started it and there were many complications. This time I think we can do better because we’re more experienced. There are really a lot of different variety shows nowadays, and we’re thinking hard on what we should do that will be interesting. Even though just the fact that we’re doing a variety together with members who have promoted together for 20 years is in itself meaningful and will probably be fun.
- Season 1 of MBC’s ‘Infinite Challenge’ ended this year. Junjin, how did you feel when you heard season 1 was ending? Junjin: I really learnt a lot while filming ‘Infinite Challenge’. Being able to participate, for a period of time, in a variety program that is so loved, that alone is something I’m really thankful for. Personally, I’ve learnt a lot from the hyungs. When I appeared, we had a lot of physical challenges. Before I get any older, if there was a chance, I would like to try the physical challenges, such as bobsledding, together with the hyungs again.
Tumblr media
- Eric became part of PD Na Youngseok’s team with tvN’s ‘Three Meals a Day’. How was doing a variety with him like? Eric: He is really excellent in his observations and understanding people. All these while, I’ve rejected a lot of varieties because I felt burdened having to be observed and showing my true self, without being aware and without putting on an act. But PD Na Youngseok observes and films without making me realise it. In the past 20 years, when I did varieties, the interviews always started with, ‘Alright, camera rolling, we’re doing the interview now’. But that team films the interview from far away, and zooms in the camera. You speak naturally because you’re mixed into the environment around you.
- In the past, people were often biased towards idol-turned-actors. How did you overcome that, and do you think you’re going on the path you want, as an actor? Eric: I am a singer-turned-actor but Dongwan is an actor-turned-singer. I think Dongwan doesn’t get asked as much of those questions as I do. There are a lot of singer-turned-actors now but back then, there weren’t so many. It is true that there is a negative view towards singer-turned-actors but I think entering into a project without being fully prepared for it also played a part. I use Mun Junghyuk when I’m acting because I don’t want to use Shinhwa’s name. But after time passed, I think that was arrogance on my part. I think at that time, I was determined to be responsible as an actor and lead the story, whether I am the main lead or not, and that’s why I acted as such. Now I just act with a comfortable feeling. Dongwan: Looking back, I think I have lived well as Shinhwa but I’m not sure how I have performed as an actor. And to be honest, I do have some regrets.
Tumblr media
- Dongwan, I heard you started living in the countryside. Dongwan: I have moved from the house I showed in MBC’s “I Live Alone” to Gapyeong. If I get busy, I probably need to find a one-room suite in Seoul. People I work with says it’s tiring to be going back and forth. But in Gapyeong, I play with my neighbour’s dog, cut the grass, I do even more things. I had nothing to do so I even bought and installed a pull-up bar at home.
- What did you think when you see first generation idols that debuted together with you in the 90s reuniting? Minwoo: It looks good. There is someone who choreographed the dances for Sech Kies, Fin K.L, and even us. We still reminiscence about Dream Concert. One day, that person said it’d be fun if Shinhwa, god, H.O.T, Sech Kies, Fin K.L, S.E.S, all got together and held a festival-like concert at Seoul Olympic Stadium. I think it’ll be really fun. Eric: The main point of that concert will be the tension between the fans. It doesn’t seem so nowadays, with so many idols, but back in the days, each group had a clear rival group. The tension between the fans was huge back then. I think it’ll be fun if that happened during the concert. Dongwan: I hope anyone who reads this is report and is interested in investing will contact us. (laughs) Hyesung: I think anyone thinks about a collaboration like that. I’ve talked about it with Kangta too. We were saying it’d be fun if, at an awards ceremony, (Jang) Woohyuk and Minwoo appeared while doing a dance battle. It’s enjoyable just thinking about holding a concert with singers we have promoted with.
Tumblr media
- Is there a title you’d like to have? Minwoo: People use the word ‘legend’ when you promote for a long time, so now, I’m just thankful for the phrase “legendary idols”. I want Shinhwa to be a legend of Korean idols because we’ve been here for 20 years. Don’t you think Shinhwa goes together nicely with the word ‘legend’? Eric: Shinhwa is Shinhwa. I think that is the best title. Andy: I go to the mountains often. There are old trees there. Trees look more awesome the older they are. I hope Shinhwa will become more awesome and have a rich aroma.
- You must feel a heavy sense of responsibility as the seniors and longest running idols Minwoo: Our juniors do very well nowadays. I’m really proud when BTS topped the Billboard charts. I’m close with (Bang) Sihyuk hyung and their choreographer. It is really impressive that they have come to where they are just with music and performance alone. They have an energy different from the one Shinhwa has, and they are writing a different legend from us, and I feel proud. Jungkuk ah, call me. (laughs)
Tumblr media
- What will you be like, 20 years later? Hyesung: There’ll be members who have lesser hair than they have now, and members who walk crookedly but even so, I think we’d still be immature. I think we’d gather together, talk and still be pranking each other then. I think Junjin will still be annoying, even 20 years later. Junjin: Ey~ how can you call me annoying Hyesung: I’d like to continue to do as well as I have been doing.
- Is there a dream or goal that you haven’t attained yet? Minwoo: Instead of wanting more popularity or fame, I just really want to continue walking on this path that we are on now, because I like it so much. Maintaining this is the goal. Even when it’s our 30th or 40th anniversary, we don’t split up and do different things. We continue to work as Shinhwa, and also do our best in our individual work. The members are like family now. Dongwan often emphasises on health, and I’d really wish for the team to continue on, healthily. Dongwan: In the past, ‘let’s not get hurt’ was the goal, now, ‘let’s not die’ is the goal. Because as long as you’re not dead, you can do anything.
Tumblr media
- Shinhwa to Shinhwa is? Hyesung: Family, and our heart. Minwoo: Shinhwa is our heart. It was beating in the past, it is beating now, and will continue to beat in the future. Eric: Shinhwa is Shinhwa. I hope that line alone explains everything.

방탄소년단 - MIC Drop
Yeah 누가 내 수저 더럽대
Yeah who said that my spoon is dirty?*
I don’t care 마이크 잡음
I don’t care, I grab the mic
금수저 여럿 패
I beat those gold spoons*
버럭해 잘 못 익은 것들
Those uncooked fellas fly into a rage
스테끼 여러 개
They’re a bunch of steaks
거듭해서 씹어줄게 스타의 저녁에
I’ll chew you over at the star’s dinner**
World Business 핵심
The core of world business
섭외 1순위 매진
The most sought-after, we’re sold out
많지 않지 이 class 가칠 만끽
Not many in this class, enjoy our full value
좋은 향기에 악췬 반칙
Nasty odours are fouls against a good scent
Mic mic bungee
Mic mic bungee
Bright light 전진
Bright light moves forward
망할 거 같았겠지만 I’m fine, sorry
Thought we were gonna fail but I’m fine, sorry
미안해 Billboard
Sorry Billboard
미안해 worldwide
Sorry worldwide
아들이 넘 잘나가서 미안해 엄마
Sorry that your son’s doing so well, Mom
대신해줘 니가 못한 효도
I’ll be filial instead of you, since you were unable to
우리 콘서트 절대 없어 포도
Our concert has no grapes***
I do it I do it 넌 맛없는 라따뚜이
I do it I do it, you’re a tasteless ratatouille
혹 배가 아프다면 고소해
If your stomach hurts, sue me****
Sue it
Did you see my bag
Did you see my bag
트로피들로 백이 가득해
My bag is packed with trophies
How you think bout that
How you think bout that
Hater들은 벌써 학을 떼
Haters already sick of us
이미 황금빛 황금빛 나의 성공
My success is already golden, golden
I’m so firin’ firin’ 성화봉송
I’m so firin’ firin’, the sacred-torch
너는 황급히 황급히 도망 숑숑
You’re urgently, urgently running away zoom zoom
How you dare
How you dare
How you dare
내 손에 트로피 아 너무 많아
Trophies in my hands, ah there’s so many
너무 heavy 내 두 손이 모잘라
So heavy, my two hands are insufficient
MIC Drop
MIC Drop
발 발 조심
Watch your step, your step
너네 말 말 조심
Watch what you say, what you say
Lodi dodi 아 너무 바빠
Lodi dodi, ah so busy
너무 busy 내 온몸이 모잘라
So busy, my whole body is insufficient
MIC Drop
MIC Drop
발 발 조심
Watch your step, your step
너네 말 말 조심
Watch what you say, what you say
이거 완전 네 글자
This is totally a four letter saying
사필귀정 ah
Nothing goes uncorrected for long ah
Once upon a time
이솝우화 fly
Aesop’s Fable fly
니 현실을 봐라 쌔 쌤통
Look at your reality, serves you right
지금 죽어도 난 개행복
Even if I die right now, I’d be so damn happy
이번엔 어느 나라 가
What country are we going to this time?
비행기 몇 시간을 타
How many hours are we flying?
Yeah I’m on the mountain
Yeah I’m on the bay
무대에서 탈진
Exhausted on the stage
MIC Drop baam
Did you see my bag
Did you see my bag
트로피들로 백이 가득해
My bag is packed with trophies
How you think bout that
How you think bout that
Hater들은 벌써 학을 떼

더 볼 일 없어 마지막 인사야
There’s nothing more to see, this is the last farewell
할 말도 없어 사과도 하지 마
There’s nothing more to say, don’t even apologize
더 볼 일 없어 마지막 인사야
There’s nothing more to see, this is the last farewell
할 말도 없어 사과도 하지 마
There’s nothing more to say, don’t even apologize
잘 봐 넌 그 꼴 나지
Look carefully, that’s your current state
우린 탁 쏴 마치 콜라지
We shoot like Cola
너의 각막 깜짝 놀라지
Your corneas are surprised*****

A대, V-ㄴ/는대: “…said A/V”
“누가 내 수저 더럽대” - who said that my spoon is dirty?
A다면, V-ㄴ/는다면: “If A/V”
“혹 배가 아프다면 고소해”- If your stomach hurts, sue me
*Refers to the Spoon Class Theory, and classifies individuals based on what they inherited from their parents/were born with. “Dirt spoon” would be the lowest class (about 50% of the Korean population), while “gold spoon” would be the richest class (the top 1%).
**Word play that can mean to chew or to badmouth. So they’re saying they’ll chew the steaks (i.e. badmouth them).
***포도, which means grape, is used in this case as a slang for (concert) seat/ticket. BTS commonly uses the site Interpark for ticketing, and when selecting seats, the seats are purple. Thus they look like grapes.
****More word play. 배가 아프다, while meaning to have a stomache, also means to be/feel jealous.
*****각막 is used as slang and refers to someone’s good taste but in a funny way. It also can be used to mean “eyes” instead of 눈.
As usual, not a native so if you see mistakes, please kindly let me know!^^ I’m hoping to do another song or two later today, it’s 1:30 am currently and I am going to go sleep now. Let me know which two you want next!
I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH I’VE HAD IT ON REPEAT FOR ALMOST 4.5 HOURS NOW UGH SO GOOD AND IT WAS INSPIRED BY OBAMA
STAN THE KINGS Y’ALL
