A Father’s Story by Lionel Dahmer
“When I think back on the interview I gave to Inside Edition so many months ago, I hear the interviewer’s questions once again: ‘Do you forgive your son?’
Yes, I do.  But should he forgive me?  I am not so sure, because I have come to believe that some of the compulsions that overwhelmed my son have had their origins in me, and the things I might have done or not done with him. Perhaps it was only by the grace of God that I or any escaped his fate, or because of genetic endowment or psychological legacy of my parents and their parents. The odd fantasies of my youth, the violent impulses that arose in me from my early feeling of powerlessness and inferiority, that perhaps limited my expressing my love to Jeff - all these, I believe may have come to Jeff through me.
Lionel Dahmer’s A Father’s Story is a book detailing the upbringing of notorious serial killer Jeffery Dahmer. It shows a father trying to grasp at strings, to discern why his son is a killer. Lionel walks the reader through the history of Jeff’s childhood, the trauma Jeff went through, and Lionel’s own upbringing.  Lionel examines how his childhood fascinations with bombs, his lack of involvement in Jeff’s life, and his wife's ailments while pregnant may have incubated a serial killer.  However, if you are looking to find stone solid reasons that Jeffery Dahmer became a killer; this book is not for you. No real answers are given to the reason he is the way he is. Yet, there is more of a father’s speculation into what he may or may not have done, a gripping coming to terms with his son being who he is.

I received this book from Net galley in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to the publisher  Harlequin UK; the author Alice Feeney; and net galley.
Sometimes I lie is a great psychological thriller packed with wonderful little points of life.
Amber Reynolds is in a coma, she has been returned to her "factory setting as a human being, rather than a human doing" She can hear everything going on around her but she cannot see. She needs to remember what it was that happened. How did she get to the hospital and why is she in a coma? She needs to find out why and what she is afraid of. She needs to know why her husband is being accused of her accident. She needs to remember who the mysterious man is. Most of all, she needs to remember why she is afraid of her sister Claire.
As we read we flash back and forth between a diary, her mind while in a coma, and real life Amber. We find that it is true..."some people are ghosts before they are dead". The story climaxes and we find that little girls truly are made of "sugar and spice and scars for life." Read the book, you won't be sorry! Because "some people appear happy on the outside and you only know they're broken inside if you listen as well as look".

The Other Girl by Erica Spindler
The Other Girl, she always thinks of her as "the other girl"...there was two of them that night. Twisting and turning we follow a murder case as Miranda tries to figure out who killed a prominent man's son. It's a story of a cover up, betrayal, surprises. This book twists and turned keeping the reader engaged in the story line for the length of the book. I received this book for free in an exchange for an honest review. Thanks, Net Galley, Erica Spindler and  St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to review this book.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
It has taken a lot of reflection to get to the review point of this book. I bought this and finished it in August. I gave it four stars; let us be real here...It doesn't deserve four stars. This book is a look into the life of Harry Potter's son Albus Severus Potter. I lost all seriousness for this book when I got to the "Yer a wizard Harry" portion of the book...this is all my fault due to my brother forcing me to watch the video on youtube entitles "You're a wizard Harry". This truly did ruin some of Harry Potter for me, if you haven't seen it don't watch it. So anyway, the Cursed Child was maybe a two-three star book. It was an interesting story line . However, the Harry Potter we know and love is gone. I doubt any child of Harry Potter would turn out like Albus....just saying. I liked Scorpius but really? Why would Draco name his kid Scorpius.....really.....??
At this point in life, I feel as though JK Rowling may possibly be grasping at straws as an author. Her attempts to create something new did not go over well as we can see in Casual Vacancy and Robert Galbraith writings.
Maybe, just maybe we should leave Harry Potter and all his friends alone to live a quiet life instead of adding to it. That's all I want for Harry and his friends.

The game Punderdome is a unique game show type game. This game is full of pun! It is an entertaining game. However, it is a tough game. You definitely have to have your mind sharp for the game! The pretense of the game is you draw two cards, on the back, there is a category and on the back is a question with the answer. Two cards are drawn, and the backs are read and the "game players" must respond with the pun question. The back categories are read, and the players must make up their own pun with the two categories on the cards. Some of the puns make sense, and some of them do not. It would be a fun game to play with a large group of fairly sharp individuals! It is a great and enjoyable game for all! I received this free copy of Punderdome by Blogging for Books in exchange for a honest review. Thank you to Blogging for Books and the creators Jo and Fred Firestone.

SPOILER ALERT!!!! DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT SOME OF THE STORY SPOILED!!!!!
"There is nothing wrong with me buying her a ring. She's my girl," Kellen said. "Yeah, except for the part where you're a pedophile." Ricki wrinkled her nose up. "That's not the only thing love means. You just got your mind in the gutter. Come on, Donal, let's go ride."
This book was shocking, brilliant, beautiful, sad, and wonderful all in the same book. It was a real love story I have ever read. Raw to the core. It definitely isn't for everyone. It is hard to understand the love between an 8-year-old and an 18-year-old, yet it is lovely at the same time. This book will not be for everyone; many people will gawk at the story line and shy away. That's ok.
Wavy is far beyond her years in life; she had seen hardships and lived in a home which is hard to stomach. She isn't properly taken care of and at eight she is caring for both herself and her baby brother. Step in Jesse Joe Kellen, his huge hunky body and his love for Wavy. He takes care of her in a paternal way(really there is nothing inappropriate that happens at this moment). He watches her grow up, and she watches him become even more of an adult. At some point they fall in love....maybe they were always in love? But They decide to get married, and it all turns for the worse..they add intimacy into the mix at 14 years old, and obviously it doesn't work out well for the 24-year-old Kellen. There is a happy ending for them, though! She waits and waits for him for years, finally out of jail (living with another woman!) she finds him, and they rekindle (did it ever go out?) their love.
Through the struggles and hardships, this unlikely and a (slightly illegal) couple come together in this fresh and wonderfully written book. I must give All the Ugly and Wonderful Things 5 stars for just an amazing read!
This book was given to me as a free copy by Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. I was blown away by this book and WOULD recommend to anyone who thinks they might like it. The writing style is simply amazing. Thank you Net Galley and the publisher St. Martin's Press for the opportunity, thanks to Bryn Greenwood for writing this book .

This books, Post This Book, is a cool creative book to give prompts to work through. The use of the #postthisbook is a brilliant marketing skill that the author employed. I am sad to say that as a ebook it is difficult to fully utilize this book because one cannot scribble on the pages. Great book none the less and there are awesome art prompts all over in this book! Thanks to the author and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book for net galley!
