Freyja's Falcon Flight: New Shapes
Well, I meant to do twice a month but at least I’m back with this on time again.  Spring weather changes and some mundane life stuff have left me still a little overloaded, but I’m working on getting back into the swing of things, and the abundance of sunlight is definitely helping! I recommend lighting a devotional candle and/or making a small offering to Freyja (perhaps a libation) before you…

Freyja's Falcon Flight: Purifying Waters
Spring is back, and so are these Falcon Flights – on the full moon now, to help me keep my plan to blog every other week. As before, this journey is based on my experience, and I’m offering it to the community in case it’s helpful or resonates with some of you. If you’re used to doing journeys from a script, great! Otherwise feel free to have some one read it to you, or record yourself reading…

Aquarius Witch: I have an article getting published in July!
I wrote an article about a year ago (haha, publishing is a super fast industry), and it’s being published in an upcoming book from Llewellyn: Aquarius Witch, which is being released on July 8th!  It’s a biography of Pamela “Pixie” Colman Smith, the artist behind the ubiquitous Rider-Waite-Smith tarot. She was herself an Aquarian Sun, a queer woman, and a very talented artist but she died…

Ogham Transpositions: Trees
First, before I say anything else: THE OGHAM IS NOT A TREE CALENDAR OR A TREE ALPHABET Right?  Okay, got that?  I’m here to talk about a tree list, which is one of many many types of ogham lists (including lists for things like hunting dogs and sows and other livestock).  It’s just a list.  Some of the letter names are trees yes but they aren’t all trees.  And on the tree list they are a few…

Coming Back from An Accidental Hiatus!
Hello all and happy Chocolate Discount Sale Days to all those who celebrate (lol)! I seem to have taken an accidental hiatus from blogging due to some Life Nonsense that happened, including but not limited to: getting somewhat stranded in airports, dealing with health issues, and the unexpected illness and sudden death of one of my rabbits.  Also I almost always get “eaten” by December and…

Happy New Year, y'all! (Or new year's eve really, still.)
I just wanted to let everyone know that I got all the new year's listings up in my shop and I'm running a sale right now, 20+% off all of those spreads in my webshop! This is the second cheapest way to get cards of the month from me - the Patreon Card of the Month Club is still a tiiiiny bit cheaper if you'd rather spread out the cost!
And everything in the Etsy shop is also 20% off through the end of January!

Another Kind of Update for my Crow Folks
This month I have been sick and overwhelmed and battling severe fatigue, and when I went to see Na Morrigna, I asked – what would you have me to this month?  Can I just rest? No, not only rest. They wanted me to finally start a piece of devotional fiber craft, and to share a small, happy update.  One of my workshop proposals was accepted to the Morrigan’s Call Retreat 2024!  So it looks like I’ll…

Ogham Impressions: Fourth Aicme
If you haven’t read the introduction to the first aicme, maybe go read that first and return, because today I’m just launching straight into the fourth aicme. I associate Ailm with the winter, and from that, with Samhain, and then the rest of the aicme with winter and with the north, though again as far as I know there is no direct historical support for that.  I’m also adding in some keywords…

Ogham Impressions: Third Aicme
If you haven’t read the introduction to the first aicme, maybe go read that first and return, because today I’m just launching straight into the third aicme. I associate Muin with Lughnasadh and the early autumn, when grapes and blackberries both ripen, and thus the rest of the aicme with that season as well and with the west, though again as far as I know there is no direct historical support…

Ogham Impressions: Second Aicme
If you haven’t read the introduction to the first aicme, maybe go read that first and return, because today I’m just launching straight into the second aicme. I associate hÚath with Bealtaine personally, from the association with hawthorn which blooms around then, and from that I associate the entire aicme with the Summer and the South, though again as far as I know there is no direct historical…

Ogham Impressions: First Aicme
A couple of weeks ago (ah, how time flies) I commented on someone else’s post about ogham that some of my understandings were similar, and it spawned a brief conversation about how my understanding came about, and then I promised to share some of my insights… and then, well.  Life happened.  Samhain happened.  And now here I am in the second half of November, finally getting some of it down on…

Crow Folks: Things Needed in Darkness
This dark moon, my journey led me back to the more usual place, where I met the Three Daughters of Ernmas outside a cottage, around a great cauldron.  When I asked what message they had for me to bring back this time, they reminded me that this was the last moon cycle, dark to dark, before the light started coming back.  After the next dark moon there will be a brief dark period, but the solstice…

A bunch of fae-related upg on my long form blog this week.
I really need to acquire and read Ginsburg's Night Battles and see if that has any helpful parallels.
Samhain Season Reflections
I had vague plans for Oíche Shamhna — beyond the usual handing out candy as my husband took the kiddo trick or treating — but after an October where I was sick and then my husband got sick and stayed sick, and then I finally got the new covid vaccine (which, predictably, tanked me for a week), plans did not solidify and materialize beyond brief prayers. Normally, that would have upset me, and I…

I’m trying to raise money to assist with legal fees. My dad passed away about a week or so, and we laid him to rest in the family plot in the cemetary. I’m in the process of inhereiting my family home and the best way to do that and be able to pay for it is to inhereit and take over my dad’s retirement fund.
In order to do that, however, I need to finally complete the divorce with my former spouse. I visit with the family court lawyer tomorrow morning and will jumpstart the process then. I have no idea how much it’s going to cost.
I’m reaching out to the community and asking if anyone has any extra to give to please do so through the link provided. It will take you to my LinkTree account and you will find links to my Paypal, Cash App and Venmo accounts. Anything you can give will help me greatly during this time of great chance and transition.
In case anyone is curious: Any money I receive in donation will primarily go towards assisting in covering any and all costs of legal fees to straighten out everything, while tsecondarily the money will go towards assisting me in bolstering my ability to obtain any necessities as this whole process is ongoing.
I am also offering readings with either Elder Futhark or Ogham, for whatever anyone can pay at this time, while I am working on raising more money. Any requests for readings can be sent through my Ask Box here on this blog, or via my brand email address of roibinbhride at outlook. Payments can be sent through Paypal, Cashapp, or Venmo, which the links to those accounts of mine can be found through the LinkTree link provided above. Thank you!

Review of Outside the Charmed Circle
Outside the Charmed Circle: Exploring Gender and Sexuality in Magical Practice
by Misha Magdalene, published in 2020 by Llewellyn
ISBN: 978-0-7387-6132-9
This book was the community pick for the Fellowship Beyond the Star book club for October, suggested by Ron Padrón (of White Rose Witching), and I’m super glad he suggested it (and that it got the second most votes and was therefore next)…

Crow Folks: Dreaming of Stars
So. I did this journey originally last Friday, on the dark moon, and I expected I’d have something written up for y’all later that day or Saturday at the latest. But what I ended up with was just so different from everything I’ve gotten from Na Morrigna before that I took a few days to digest it and then asked for clarification and it took me another few days (of other magical work and mundane…
