A series of stunning marbling patterns with an unknown origin adorn the latest collection of design-forward objects by Tom Dixon. Debuted at the Maison&Objet fair in Paris, the 'Swirl' collection includes candle holders, bookends and even a vase. What is absolutely captivating about this stylish capsule is its textured aesthetic. Each artistic object boasts a curiosity-spiking marbling pattern, yet Tom Dixon has not revealed the technique used during the production. One might argue that this generates even more attention from the audience as designers begin to speculate the probable processes for reaching the mysterious effect. The pattern is described to "resemble 3D marbled paper," however, what is puzzling is that the objects -- from the candle holders to the bookends, have the weight of stone.

The 'Schweben' hanging chair is a modernist furniture piece that blends the functionality of a seating solution with that of an art installation. Designed by Omar Idriss, the chair has been created in three shape options including a circle, square and triangle that can come in four colors such as red, blue, white or yellow. Each of the seats are crafted from wood with an inner metal bar that helps to enhance the shape and stability of the unit when being used. The 'Schweben' hanging chair works by being suspended from the ceiling via a 10mm metal rope that features an embedded bearing ring. This will prevent the chair from rolling and shifting, which could cause the support to twist unnecessarily.

There are no constants for how each individual lives and works, so Francesco Rota designed a collection of modular furniture to fit the versatility that is life. The designs are practical for homeowners who are not seeking to replace everything upon moving. Francesco Rota's furniture is designed to be adaptable into any home or space because of its infinite possibilities of reconstruction. Originally designed for Lapalma, the PLUS system features rounded and soft elements, which include seats of different shapes -- either squared, rectangular or rounded. The collection also consists of backrests that vary in size, an armrest and a table. The minimal design of these modular furniture pieces can be altered to fit any type of seating arrangements within any large living space or lounging area. The side tables also has the option to be equipped with power supplies for charging purposes. The opportunities for consumers to customize these modular furniture pieces is broad as PLUS comes in an array of colors and fabrics, with the choice to add Rota's screen for more privacy. ---------------------------------------------- ▶Follow @alectashop for more... ▶Tag a friend who would like this!☺️ ------------------------------------------ (New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_SqsUvhYww/?igshid=10f9nunnvqrbl

Designed by Hsuan Ting Huang and Tsung Ying Hsieh, the bloom chair lets users create their own furniture that personalized for their needs. The project was made in response to a DIY society to give users knowledge of the manufacturing process.
To create the chair, users can download the modular design of the furniture and cut and assemble it. The Bloom chair uses scrap pieces of leather for the cushions, which promotes sustainability and low-waste. “The elasticity, flexibility, and durability of the leather enables it to carry the weight of the human body while being able to be shaped freely. Breakthroughs in leather-testing eliminates processing and leftover materials, allowing free disassembly of each part to minimize unnecessary part wastage,” designers continued. Users are able to distribute, study, and modify the modular units to promote collaboration and self-expression. ———————————————- ▶Follow @alectashop for more… ▶Tag a friend who would like this!☺️ —————————————— (New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_SU1FVBsh3/?igshid=aztm9o1ewhez

Swedish design studio Front developed a real space saver with its modular rug furniture, a colorful origami-like rug that can be assembled as colorful poufs. The products are made out of wool with an old flat-weaving technique, popular in the Middle East. The collection is being launched by Gan and contains three modular designs: 'Tetragon,' 'Rhomb' and 'Hexagon,' each of which has the option to be transformed into a geometric pouf. While the 2D patterns of octagons and squares in the Tetragon can be folded up into six-sided poufs with eight-sided surfaces and flattened triangular corners, the Hexagon is more uniform and its 2D diamond shapes create a 3D object with 20 sides. The modular rug furniture will not only solve problems at crowded parties and dinners, as the rug itself makes for a fabulous accent to any monochrome surface like concrete or plywood floors. ---------------------------------------------- ▶Follow @alectashop for more... ▶Tag a friend who would like this!☺️ ------------------------------------------ (New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_P-7VLBkFX/?igshid=1nqd3hyppjnuf

The Model No. 3D-printed furniture collection has been designed by the California-based startup as a new range of decor solutions for the home that put a focus on sustainability and the latest technological capabilities. The collection includes a side table, coffee table, planter, storage bin and a vase, which are all crafted using a 3D printer using bio-resins instead of conventional plastics. This makes the various designs distinctly more eco-friendly compared to other varieties presently available on the mainstream market to offer consumers a stylish, eco-friendly alternative. The Model No. 3D-printed furniture collection includes some varieties achieved with a gradient aesthetic that is made possible thanks to the aforementioned printing process. The BROKIS GEOMETRIC lighting collection has been shown off by the Czech Republic-based brand at Maison&Objet 2020 as a range of illuminators that highlight a somewhat unorthodox aesthetic. Designed by Koris Klimek and Lenka Damova, the lights are all characterized by their suspended aesthetic along with a circular appearance and subtle illumination capability. The hanging fixtures will offer warm lighting for enhancing a space with a touch of modern elegance. Speaking on the BROKIS GEOMETRIC lighting collection, the designers said, "Geometric accentuates the aesthetic expression and structure of BROKISGLASS, which itself is remarkably distinctive. The collection is defined by basic geometric shapes that characterize the overall contours of the lights and instil them with a singular graphic element to achieve a striking contrast with the animate, almost sculptural makeup of the glass. The suspension components make up the glass geometric shapes, their edges rendered in black profiles." ---------------------------------------------- ▶Follow @alectashop for more... ▶Tag a friend who would like this!☺️ ------------------------------------------ (New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_NVEjfBodK/?igshid=d0kanxfh6zoj

Chic furniture designs for the home are usually characterized by a minimalistic aesthetic that prioritizes fashion over form, but the conceptual Ice Bucket Coffee Table by James Langton aims to help change this perception. The table features an airy design that has a base with ample space for storing up to six bottles of your favorite wine or spirits to keep them on hand for enjoyment when guests arrive. A built-in ice bucket section in the glass top keeps libations chilled and within reach for easy refills. The conceptual Ice Bucket Coffee Table furniture piece highlights the important nature of fashionable decor for consumers without losing sight of the need for storage space as more urban homes embrace an open-concept design. ---------------------------------------------- ▶Follow @alectashop for more... ▶Tag a friend who would like this!☺️ ------------------------------------------ (New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_K88JEBJCc/?igshid=11lwmcruaoq9
