for a while now I've wanted to redraw my piece from the first art challenge. It was the very first thing I drew that was PLA/Submas fandom related, and I have come a long way since then. So here it is

Lani and I are climbing the big tree in Lord Electrode's area, thats why Melli is upset. Ingo is there for supervision.

Now for closeups, the original, and the very first little concept sketches I made for these back in October 2022 (cause the surfing was actually my secondary plan for that 😂)

No more flowers, okay?! No! More! Flowers!

Oh dear, it's that time of year again. Valentine's day is coming up so florists around the city have all sorts of flowers stocked in their shops. It's such a colorful and happy time of year. There's just one issue.

“aCHOOOOOOO”

Ingo is allergic to roses. The most popular flower to give for this holiday. Now this isn't usually toooo much of an issue. He takes allergy medicine, and the regulars on the subway have learned not to bring them around. But this year..

“ACHOO”

“INGO FOR THE LOVE OF THE DRAGONS GET RID OF THE FLOWERS ALREADY!”

“But.. the child looked so happy. It would feel wrong to get rid of them.”

Earlier that day a young child had excitedly run up to Ingo with a few roses in hand.

“For you Mister Ingo, for making train rides fun.”

The child’s smile had been so big and genuine Ingo had started to tear up or was that from the flowers. He thanked the child who then gave him a big hug before running back to their parents and waving goodbye.

Deep inhale “I am Emmet. Your train horn sneezes are distracting. The child will not know. Now. Throw them out. Or I will.”

Big sigh “Fiiiiine”

Submas AU part 2

The Departure

I am Emmet. The Subway Boss. I like combinations of two. My favorite combination of two is me and my brother Ingo. We are a two car train. Never meant to be separated. But, two and a half years ago that train was derailed.

A routine inspection of the tunnels. We did it often. Some tunnels shared, others separate. That night, from the direction ingo had gone I heard a faint crash. Then chandelure came barreling out of the darkness. She was, crying, screaming almost. She seemed verrry distraught. I was confused. What could have happened to cause her such distress? My mind would not even let me consider…. Before I could process what was happening she was dragging me with her, back in the direction she’d come.

When we arrived at the destination I got my answer. I stared down.

A lantern, cracked. Pokeballs, scattered. Where? Where was he?

I do not know how long I stood there. I could not move. I could not think. Chandelure continued to cry beside me but I could not hear her.

Suddenly, my biggest fear, one I had not even realized existed, had become reality. Ingo. My twin. My big brother. The one thing I liked more than winning. Gone. Without a trace.

My own take on Ingo’s disappearance. I never intended to write this but it just kind of happened when I started writing the reunion parts (which will be posted sometime after this)

Submas AU

Prologue

My name is Ingo, I am a Subway Boss from Unova, one of two with my twin, Emmet. I spent multiple years stuck in Hisui, the Sinnoh region of the past, with no memory of who I was or where I came from besides my name. I have returned, reunited with Emmet, a two-car train once again but…. I am not... I have changed. Human?... Maybe. Pokémon? I’m not sure. Whatever I am now, I cannot help but look in the mirror, and see that I… that we are no longer the same.

Emmet, he tries comfort me, says it does not matter to him what I look like, that all that matters is I am home. And I know there is truth in that, that he is truly just happy I have returned. But, sometimes, I can see it in his eyes… what is it? Sadness? Pity? I do not know, but it brings a pain to my heart when I see it.
