Excerpt:

Sirius was in the kitchen when he heard the front door open and close behind tired footsteps. He’d already filled the kettle, knowing that his husband would soon be home, so he lit the stove and pulled a couple of cups out of the cupboard.

“Tea or coffee, love?” he called through, spooning some coffee grounds into a mug for himself. If Remus chose coffee, Sirius knew he wouldn’t see him behind a pile of marking all night. Whereas tea meant cuddles on the sofa and usually early to bed, but not necessarily early to sleep. Sirius waited, one hand on the tea caddy, but there was no reply. Something was off.

“Remus?” Sirius stepped towards the kitchen door, but he didn’t get far before Remus entered and Sirius’s suspicions were instantly confirmed. Usually, Remus’s shoulders would sag tiredly, his expression soft and weary when he arrived home from work, but not today.

“Alright, baby?” Remus said quietly, voice low and rough.

We’re still raising in Jay’s name until the 25th July, so that everyone who wants to donate has the chance to wait for payday if they need to. At the time of writing we’ve raised £482 for Chrysalis GIM and I don’t have a current total for Raze Collective but it was £125 a few days ago. So, I don’t livestream... I had to download software and use my partner’s desktop to do that the other night. The thing is, the pc tower is on the floor, and the headphone cable wasn’t quite long enough so I had to slouch. I woke up the next morning with my neck a little achey, so I tried to stretch it out and angered a nerve instead. It’s better than it was, but it still hurts which is not conducive to trying to mentally get back to normality. Also I’m supposed to be posting a fest.

So yeah, thank you for the links so far for Jay’s tribute but I need y’all to bear with me <3

I invited specific people to contribute to the main Farewell, but towards the end of the stream I'll be reading messages that my mods have plucked from the comments throughout so anyone can contribute that way

Jay’s Farewell Livestream Friday 25th June 2021 - 6 pm BST (1pm EST)

On 15th May 2021, @siriussly-serious chose to go home.

On the morning of 25th June, his family will hold a private, family-only cremation.

At 6 pm BST on 25th June, we will hold a Farewell for him on YouTube.

Due to the short notice, it won’t be the grand affair I’d like it to be, but we’ll do our best. The stream will mostly be pre-written eulogies and memories but we hope to have a moment where we can include some stories from the comments.

We're also raising donations in his name for Chrysalis - Gender Identity Matters and Raze Collective. Chrysalis - GIM offer online and in-person mental health support for trans and nonbinary people in the area where he lived. Raze Collective support LGBTQIA+ performers which is more needed than ever given the events of the last year+.
