not sure if this was a change they’d already made on broadway that I wasn’t aware of but this is most certainly not how why we build the wall ends on the cast recording. Allie Daniel’s choice here on “in her skin” is something I’ve thought about pretty much every day since I first heard it. as a vocalist it’s insanely impressive but it also adds a real menace to the line. amazing.

if you’ve been lucky enough to see him live, you’ll know jamie muscato has one of those voices that has a lot more to it in person than in recordings. Picked up a copy of the Next to Normal script when I saw it at the Donmar Warehouse and found this cut song in the back, presumably written as an alternative to the “imagining the ways you might have died” discussion at the start of Just Another Day, and suddenly it hurts all over again.
