...guess who's thinking intensely about one subplot now.
Maybe I'll post my musings about it anyway.
I'd love to resume doing something on this blog. I miss yelling into the internet about stuff but mostly drifted away from otomes, now playing mostly games that don't exactly have any romance in them. I do have a blog for those but it's mostly just me complaining about my gacha pulls once in a blue moon.
I'm still reading a lot of manga though. In the last month I've binged so much of the backlog that was waiting on my shelf. I'm so impressed by how much manga and localisations changed in comparison to when I was starting out diving those 15 years ago into what eventually brought me to otomes.
And also Tumblr changed a lot in recent years.
Though I'd have to rethink a lot about this blog. Maybe return to the roots, which was aromantic reception of romance.
My perspective though also changed a lot over those years. I started this blog shortly after Ikemen Sengoku released in EN. That was 2017. Almost 7 years? Time sure flies.

There is currently a crowdfunding campaign active for a Japanese indie otome game called Monomagia Cantabile!
They have a stretch goal for an English translation at 5M JPY. As of this post, they have made 2,293,000 JPY.
"Hotaru, a young girl with an old playing card she found in her grandfather's room, is transported to another world called Eden and wakes up in the laboratory of a young man called Jet. Jet, a suspicious young man, says that in order for Hotaru to return to her original world, she needs to go to meet a person called the Creator who lives in a place called the White Country at the farthest end of Eden.
In order to return to her original world, Hotaru embarks on a journey to the White Land with Jet, whom she met in the Yellow Country...
During her journey, Hotaru meets six young men. There were five nations in Eden: yellow, red, green, blue, and white. Apparently, in Eden, there are problems between the countries. Faced with problems between various people and countries that arise in this world, and sometimes in love, the girl moves towards the fate imposed on her."
You can view and contribute to the campaign here!

I don't really want to switch to subplot analysis though. I actually don't really pay attention to those subplots at all and prefer not to focus on them when I'm reading a story about something else. They fall into one of three categories for me:
unnecessary and waste of time - when it takes away from the main plot and the story would be better if the author focused on the actual plot. Annoying.
unremarkable to the point I missed it entirely until they actually kissed or something. This type is usually too bland and generic.
is an integral part of the story and as such, cannot really be analysed outside of this frame.
The thing with subplots is, they don't get enough time and on top of that, I don't even want to focus my attention on romance when I'm not reading it for romance.
If the story is supposed to be focused on interpersonal relationships, there's actually enough to analyse. And also it stays true to what it promises.

Well well well, guess who doesn't have memory of this one-shot anymore.
Well well, guess who's thinking up a new original space-themed oneshot after an oath to never ever do original stories again.
I need a new pen name though because the old one I was trying to use for original fiction is to be never spoken of ever again.
I wish I had time and brain fuel to actually keep on working on longer fics though. I've been wanting to return to my political fic for OM so much, but it's just so demanding.

I apparently missed also a serial asker going on an asking spree through the ArTw fandom. Interesting. My theory is, Discord was involved.

So when I was away Tumblr launched a beta for its first truly liked feature?
I missed some of the greatest history in the making...?
Kind of looking forward to see how Patio turns out.

When I was getting my wolf tattoo at 18 to remind myself to always be free like a wolf
I did not exactly mean hounded, on the brink of extinction with lawmakers trying to get the legal protections away

My personal silly headcanon is that Belphie thought he's a master manipulator in original ch.16 happenings because he's been lying to captchas that he's human and thought it'd work again

No one reblogs on tumblr anymore.
No one leaves comments on Ao3 anymore.
Seriously people the lack of fandom interaction these days makes me genuinely depressed, it never used to be like this, makes me wonder what's the point of coming online to do anything anymore.
Reblog a post so other people can see it.
Leave a comment so the author doesn't feel like giving up.
Fandom cannot live on Likes or Kudos alone.
