Cancel your disney+ subscription, stop buying mcdonald's, stop buying burger king, stop buying starbucks, i am so serious
I boycott mcdonald's despite it being just about my number one favorite food, despite being a picky eater, despite having depression and therefore a hard time making meals. If i can, so can you, there is absolutely no excuse
And pirate disney+ stuff, it is so easy, especially cartoons. You will find places to watch things if you look, i Promise you, just cancel your fucking subscription
psst, tumblr just quietly rolled out collaboration with ai training models, and it's opt-out, not opt-in, go into your blog settings to fix it [on desktop, anyway, dunno where you'd look on mobile] keep fighting the good fight <3
I don't see an option for it now, so it may not have rolled out for everyone yet? Unless I'm just missing where it is
It's crazy how people are so against minoriry languages. Like my sibling in Christ, that's an integral part of local cultures and identities.
Intentional language standardization has very often been part of ethnic cleansing(done by USA, UK, Australia, Russia, China, France, Spain and many others), because it's the most effective way to kill out a local culture, and with it a good part of resistance against imperialist occupation.
That's usually done by calling related languages "simple dialects" when they are not mutually inteligible, and gradually assimilating them until they're actually no more than a dialect, which could actually end up being the fate of languages such as Astur-Leonese, which are losing their autoctonous vocabulary.
But the worst is when they call mostly unrelated languages "savage", "heretic", or "uncapable of expressing reason", like many European conquerors did with the indigenous languages of the Americas, because that's taking a whole people and all their cultural practices as less, or dangerous, which is a vital element of fascism and religious fundamentalism.
