When a feather is placed just under a nose. Maybe the tip is just barely poking a nostril. Maybe its horizontal and the edges are just barely grazing the septum. Whatever the case the feather isn’t moving. But the nose sure is.

Maybe their arms are tied and are unable to bat the irritating feather away. Maybe they have to stay still, and they were doing such a good job until that feather was placed right under their nose.

Its an absolute maddening sensation. Such a light touch and yet it tickles like crazy. They scrunch up their nose, squirming it around, trying to run away from that irritating sensation that’s just right there. Their whole nose tingles and practically begs to be rubbed and scratched at.

But the other person holding the feather does nothing. They simply wait and watch that beautiful face contort around a now flaring nose. They watch as eyes start glossing over, lashes fluttering.

“Poor you, that nose of yours looks so itchy. Need a rub?”

“P-please..”

“Only if you sneeze first”

deep, heavy pre-sneeze breathing is so fucking hot.. like those building breaths that you can just hear that they're breathing entirely through their mouth and nose and you can hear from the pitch of their breathing that their tongue is lowered in the back to make room for them to breathe as many big and deep breaths possible to build up to that sneezy release

I love how active mouths are during a false start. Constantly opening and closing again, so desperate, maybe a little trembly. Bonus points if you can see the tongue lifting up a little..

1940s typing pool: dozens of ladies sitting by their desks in their knee-length skirts, their heels, cute blouses and cardigans, hair styled in that lovely wavy fashion of the era, typing away from shorthand notes, nine to five.

Alas, there's an absolutely ghastly, sneezy, messy cold spreading like wildfire among the poor secretaries. In a crowded space like that, soon there will be no nose left unaffected.

dry sniffles. their nose is tickling a little more than usual is all. more sniffs than sniffles.

liquid sniffles. at first there isn’t much theyre trying to suck back up, but their nose is feeling a little drippy; then their nose is definitely running, and they’re trying to suck back watery phlegm. their throat hurts a little. they have a little bit of a headache. when the sniffles start to not be enough, tissues come into the equation. 

thicker sniffles. their runny nose is starting to clog. at first theyre still sniffling to try to keep their nose from dripping, and then they’re sniffling trying to clear it, and its audible; the sniffles start to crackle with wetness. the tissues start to serve for nose blows as well as wiping. 

clogged sniffles. they’re definitely stuffed up; their consonants start to round out until it’s clear they aren’t feeling well, their nose restuffs no matter how much they blow it. the sniffles are them trying to both shove back the congestion, clean themselves up after sneezing or blowing their nose, or to keep it from dripping. 

wet sniffles. they’re sick, anyone who hears them sniffle knows theyre sick. their tissues are drenched with a single blow, they’re breathing through their mouth, their voice is throughly blocked up. the sniffles are frequent and loud, trying to clear themselves up and keep themselves from dripping all over. 

damp sniffles. they should be in bed. not only are they wet, they’re exhausted, desperate, trying to keep themselves from dripping even when the edges of their nostrils are perpetually damp, ending with little guhs and ohs. they sound horrible, they cant go 5 feet from a tissue box. theyre so sick their nose is bursting, and their sniffles are tying to hold it all back, their sneezes are explosions they can’t always catch, their sinuses are visibly puffy, their pale cheeks are flushed a little with fever. when they dont sniffle in time, little drips form on the bright red, inflamed skin under their nostrils. no matter how hard they try, they cant keep this all to themselves; being anywhere but home is spreading whatever this is around. things get worse when they start to run low on tissues, reusing old ones, trying to compound them into wads to catch more. it’s only a matter of time until someone tells them, very frankly, that they’re sick as hell and undoubtedly contagious and need to go home until they feel better. of course, seeing as how they weren’t very successful in fighting this bug in public, it’s only a matter of time until there are a couple more dry sniffles from someone else, battling a little tickle in their nose…
