I have a BUNCH of adoptions scheduled!!!

2 hamsters, 2 rats, 3 guinea pigs, and 1 chinchilla!!! 😍😍😍

Perfect timing because I have a ton of rats coming in. I am splitting them between 3 rescues (us, and two other local rescues) because there’s 37 rats total but 😂 it’ll still be a Lot.

SURPRISE!!!! I adopted a second morphed axolotl from Salamander With A Sign, a morphed axolotl / tiger salamander specific rescue :) This is MANGO! He is 2 years old and when he is done with his quarantine and settled in, he will meet Freak and the two will hopefully become buddies. Morphed lotls typically do quite well in groups :)

He is suuuper cute. This has been a goal of mine for a while but finally Courtney had one available for me!! He just arrived this morning safe & sound through fedex.

Miller is a sweet 1yo male guinea pig looking for a new home, preferably with a buddy. He is submissive with other guinea pigs and a bit shy and reserved with people. But he is an absolute darling. He was surrendered due to his owner moving and has a clean bill of health from one of our partnered vets.

MEDICAL UPDATES- Long post ahead.

FUZZY is new to the rescue. Last night he was free roaming with another hamster who attacked him. His owner could not pay for his veterinary care so he came to us to get the care he needed. We rushed him to Como Park Animal Hospital where they were able to stop the bleeding and gave him an adorable cone. In the morning he came with to Snickers’ appointment at Valley View Pet Hospital for evaluation by our usual vet. He is on pain meds and antibiotics for the next 10 days, but we anticipate he will heal up okay.

SNICKERS went in with Dr Alisha at Valley View for a wellness check where a small abscess on his butt was discovered. It was drained and now he will be on antibiotics for 2 weeks to let it heal up. He should have no issue recovering! Beyond the abscess he’s in fantastic health.

This is another significant blow to our rescue funds which we are still struggling to rebuild after expensive vet care for Winston, Vixen, Morningstar, and Paprika. We are glad to do it but we could use help replenishing our bank account so we can continue helping animals. We have a mouse litter on the way, rats being treated for URIs, and 5 wellness visits scheduled! It all adds up!!!

Mac & Cheese the gerbils go home TOMORROW after almost a full year in rescue and then we won’t have any available gerbils!

Ash the hamster is going home on Wednesday

Snickers the guinea pig will be going out on adoption trial soon, to see if he can be bonded to his adopter’s other pig.

Chalupa the chinchilla is going home on the 19th

Miller the guinea pig (not my foster but still) will hopefully have a home, waiting to hear back from the applicant

Salt, Pepper, and Pancake the rats have a home but Salt is recovering from a URI right now so they’ll be going home after that
