HEY! im alive! this is kitsch, the thumbnail artist + main mod of this blog. life got sort of hectic and i feel a little bad for not keeping up with updates so much anymore. life really got in the way of things, aka discovered i had a degenerative disk in my back + a few other health issues (+ fixating on murder drones 🥲) our other mods who are the cleanup + colourists have also been busy so ive gotten the go ahead to just post the rough outlines of what we were working on. i hope this suffices enough for the wait. thank you all for the patience and i appreciate all the love we’ve gotten on the comic so far!

i got 5 submissions in a row asking about freakshow less than 24 hours after posting this.

i really appreciate the concern coming from you guys, i am okay! i’m just goofing around on @nuzipilled and hyperfixating on MD. i apologize for any disappointment about that and i do plan to circle back around sometime (probably with episode 2 announcement)

what i do not appreciate is pushy anons demanding more art from me or making me feel guilty for either not posting TADC or shitting on MD in my inbox just for the sake that it grabbed my attention. i have a horrible case of adhd and my brain just tends to do this with hyperfixations, and i did not expect this account to explode as much as it did, and it is hard to be held to the same expectations i was when i was first drawing jaxpom stuff.

I have a life and interests outside of this blog. I am a full time tattoo artist and i draw fandom stuff on my free time when i want to/can. i will continue to be active here, i will answer interesting asks and messages but for now i’m a little burnt out regarding art and i would really appreciate it if you would be kinder in the ask box otherwise i will close it entirely

HI there. I really like "Freakshow." It's inspired me to work on a funnybunny comic of my own. Question: may I use certain artistic elements from "Freakshow" in my comic; specifically a softer palette compared to the show, color-coded word bubbles to identify the cast and thin lines for the font? I worry if I do this, it will be too similar in presentation. Would love to hear your thoughts. Best wishes.

I love that u analyze these two so well, and that makes it so the content u make for them is AMAZING. I often suffer when i search for food cuz people will often like uh. Oversimplify/??/ the characters while they imagine them in relationships. And that just kind of isn't great ig. It's totally different on this account and i admire that.

I actually think u could pass as a writer for tadc if i didn't see that this account is about a ship.

oh gosh haha thank you so much!!! i try to put alot of emphasis on proper characterization and emotion in my art. As fun and self indulgent it is to see my ships hugging and kissing if it’s not canon it’s kinda hard to justify for me and ends up feeling a little dry?

it’s much more fun for me personally to break down/dissect individual characters and dynamics first so i can boil down a reasoning for drawing jax and pomni (or more recently n and uzi from murder drones im sorry but also please give it a watch) playing tonsil hockey or whatever.

same with fanfics. i suffer from a horrible case of “he would not fucking say that” disease and if the first sentence doesn’t hook me i’m out of there, im too much of a stickler

It has been shown in the pilot and intros that pain doesn’t actually seem to exist for the characters. Like Ragatha had a cleaver to her face and nothing happened and she just laughed it off. Gangle’s mask breaks but it doesn’t hurt. Just makes her sad. The only thing that hurts is abstraction…BUT an exception to that is Jax. Jax actually seems to react to physical stuff like being choked or being hit by that one Gloink. It’s almost like he actually feels pain.

What’s your take on it? And how would Pomni (your Pomni) react to this knowledge?

goose did confirm that all of the characters can feel pain, the intro video where that happens to rags i feel is more of a pilot of a pilot episode and not really canon to the actual show. i think it’s not exactly the same pain we might feel in the real world but definitely some sort of simulated experience, the same way that eating and sleeping keep them “sane” despite them being digital avatars and it not being entirely essential.

that being said, i think pomni reacting to jax in pain depends on where their relationship is at. obviously she’d be upset by it but if he’s being pretty actively mean to her she probably could justify it as karma or something — if this is post corn comic — which i find absolutely fucking hilarious that i can use that as part of my fanon timeline, i think it might cause her a little bit more distressing + would proactively try to find a solution
