What is it with people being too pressed to let others just enjoy fanfiction, and more importantly the stuff they write for themselves? I just started a new multichapter Hackearney fanfiction, so get excited for that! Hackearney won't be the focus, and it'll be a slow burn, but I think it's almost impossible for me to write anything but.

Travis has come to the conclusion that it's impossible for him to not look at Laura without a severe amount of awe.

This evening is no different.

Travis had been put in charge of the camp’s movie night for the younger kids, ages ranging from six to twelve, all of them gathered up and under his watch. Travis would have preferred to be the host of the movie night for the higher age range kids - the thirteen-year-olds and up - but David already claimed it.

So, here's Travis, loading up the VCR with a copy of ‘The Care Bears Movie,’ as a hoard of youngsters huddle up together to crowd around the big television set to watch.

-made some mistakes, learned some stuff (primer sucks in all the ways possible)

-his skin is a little lighter irl but it keeps drying to darker tones...I'll see what I can do about that

-there is definitely some roughness here and there, that's because of the primer (my fault) and the sanding that they did at the printing place but overall it's not super noticable. But I'll see if I can work it out

The guy was my first try so, obviously I wouldn't be able to do it perfectly straight away

(Still working on a stand, which, yes, will be there. He is HEAVIER than I thought. But sturdy, should survive everything)

Definitely need to find a place to do this at, cause that shit is way too toxic (doggo was away and safe!!)

Also still thinking on the varnish..i have a slightly glossy one but I'm unsure if it'll do....I've seen it on paper, not on figurines

How did you make that physical copy???

Ohhhh I'm soo happy you're asking! Bc it was my first time doing that and it turned out so good! 🥰 I formatted the story, the text itself, in InDesign and created the cover in Illustrator. If you look closely, you can see that the lines aren't exactly symmetrical, but that didn't bother me and I'm happy with how it turned out. I also added some small graphics, like the cocktail glass or the ornament around the page numbers. I was inspired by the AO3 story!🍸

Then I sent the PDF to a print shop, which printed and bound the book. That's it 🤍😊

The Mountain Guardian | Hackearney | Chapter 1

On leaden legs, she stumbles onto the road. She shouldn’t do that, shouldn’t go there, but it’s like her limbs are moving of their own accord. Slowly, Laura inches along the red truck, expecting to see a police cruiser parked behind it. There isn’t one. Aside from the truck and her Volvo, the road is empty. Did he… leave? No, no, she would’ve noticed a cop car driving off. Confused, Laura steps around the truck and sees what was previously hidden by it. Her assailant lies next to the front wheels. Laura’s gaze flits from the man’s twitching jean-clad legs to rivulets of blood pooling into creases of his windbreaker to whatever she thought was a cop crouching by the body. Where the collar of his uniform shirt ends, the fabric puffs out, giving way to coarse black fur. The sheriff now has a wolf’s head on his shoulders.

Laura comes to North Kill for a grad school research project; she gets in trouble on her way there. Travis Hackett looks like a cop... if you squint.

Prompt: A retelling of the dentist with grape-flavored gloves story that I think originated from reddit (reddit.com/r/copypasta/comments/vukslw/tifu_by_accidentally_getting_sexual_with_my/)

with Travis as the embarrassed dentist and Laura as the blunt patient. I like the idea of Laura arriving for her appointment a bit stressed out, meeting this very grumpy, taciturn dentist and trying to break the ice in some way... and accidentally blurting out suggestive remarks. And of course this needs a blushing Travis! Feel free to adapt this to your liking, Travis doesn't need to be a dentist, I just like the idea of them meeting in a professional context, and the sexual tension this could ensue...
